I purchased a Red KitchenAid Mixer on 4/23/2024 from Costco in Boise, Idaho. I have used the mixer maybe 10 times in 1.5 years because I have been dieting and I usually use it for baking yummy fattening stuff. This isn't entirely relevant, but it is what happened first, so I'm adding it in here in order. I just had to throw out an entire batch of pumpkin bread mix with chopped walnuts that I had just finished mixing because of a cheap plastic rubber spatula that was apparently putting plastic into the bowl when I banged it on the side to knock the pumpkin off. Ughh! What a waste of time and money!

Secondly, after throwing that batch out, I started the whole process again and here's what happened when I finished the second batch. I rinsed the batter off the beater bar that has 3 sections and noticed there were chunks of the coating missing which has apparently gone into the food. I was so mad to see this. How can KitchenAid (a well-known and popular product) get away with using substandard materials in their products? The internet says they do it for cost effectiveness, but you can purchase stainless steel beater bars separately at an extra cost. What a bunch of crap! Shame on you, KitchenAid! I would have paid extra if I had known this in advance of purchasing. Also, shame on you, Costco for selling this item without warning your customers!

I saved for a long time to buy KitchenAid appliances. I started with a semi-automatic coffee machine, mixer, toaster, and water cooker, and I was planning to replace all my kitchen supplies with the same brand and colour. Unfortunately, every single product has issues. I’ve already sent the coffee machine for repair twice, and the last time I got it back even more damaged — and still not repaired! The packaging was so destroyed that I had to throw it away.

KitchenAid refuses to help and keeps saying that I need to send it back again for them to “check” if it can still be repaired. I drove two hours trying to find a suitable box, but couldn’t. Now I’m stuck with an unrepaired, even more damaged coffee machine that cost €800. And KitchenAid is also not helping at all. Never again! What a terrible company. The name KitchenAid means nothing anymore. Be smart and choose a different brand — it will be cheaper and you’ll get much better service.

My son bought me a spiralizer with peel core and slice. The peeler is a piece of junk. The spring popped out after 1 hour of peeling. It is plastic and doesn't hold up. Have an old manual peeler that has worked for 5 years. This was expensive and worthless.

My first KitchenAid mixer finally quit after 20 years. I purchased a new one.... What an absolute piece of crap!!! The motor rattles and shakes the whole mixer, the power of the motor is weak, and the attachments vibrate off while the mixer is running. So disgusted with the quality, especially considering the price. Don't waste your money.

I recently discovered that the beater of my KitchenAid stand mixer had oxidized. When I contacted KitchenAid about a replacement, I was told that since my mixer is over a year old, it is no longer under warranty. I was also informed that the aluminum parts included with my mixer (purchased about six years ago) are prone to oxidizing and was advised to clean them with certain sudsy materials. This was very disappointing to hear, as I believe parts should be more durable than this.

I ended up throwing the beater away as I believe it is too dangerous to use with food when it leaves grey material when touched, and I looked into purchasing a new one, but KitchenAid only offered me a 10% discount. That hardly feels reasonable given the circumstances.

To be honest, I have never been fully satisfied with this mixer. The attachment parts never seem to reach the bottom of the bowl properly, the machine is very heavy, and there’s no effective guard to protect against splattering when whipping cream or other liquids (I did purchase their plastic cover which is not efficient). Overall, I am very disappointed with both the product and the customer service experience. At this point, I am seriously considering switching to another brand.

They tell me that the credit has already been made to PayPal, but no one can find it, I was left without the product and without the money. I don't recommend this to anyone!! Be careful!

I bought an expensive Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer from the company website, which indicated a return policy of 60 days. I observed on using it that the mixer was making abnormal noise as the tilting head was not locking properly. I went back to them and requested for refund in 14 days. They declined my request saying it is used. I told them I used it once and observed the issue and reported the matter. They said they will cover it under warranty and not replace/refund the product. They were suppose to send me link to upload video of the stand mixer - which I am still waiting on. Overall the experience is frustrating. They do not respond and I have a very mixer at home which I have bought recently and not working.

KA representatives, while pleasant, are enfeebled in that have been they have no power to do anything except quote company protocol. So, I'm still waiting for the product, can't cancel but this is all within company protocol. Its NOT a customer oriented company it is a protocol oriented company so bear that in mind. I have owned my KitchenAid stand mixer for several years after purchasing when my Hamilton Beach stand mixer stopped working. I have disliked it from the get go but thought I would adjust...not so. I prefer to have a bowl that turns as it mixes. Hard to stir unless you raise the head. My biggest complaint is when you add the flour to your cake, the paddle throws flour everywhere even on the slowest speed. Does the same when alternating the milk.

Terrible customer service. I purchased a mixer on Mother’s Day that had a significant sale. The item was supposed to be delivered within 2 days. The company claims my order was cancelled, which on my end it is “received and waiting to be fulfilled”. They said if I want the item, I can order again or through another company, but they won’t honor the $150 off sale price. The company is sketchy and dishonest. We have had nothing but issues with them. I should have learned not to order from them again after I waited 2 months for a $2500 beverage fridge only for them to try delivering a used and damaged product. I had to wait another month for the new beverage fridge to arrive. KitchenAid is not what it used to be.

I am extremely disappointed with KitchenAid’s response to a serious health concern involving their products. When a third party tested KitchenAid mixer attachments and found lead in them, I expected the company to take responsibility by replacing these attachments with non-toxic versions. Instead, KitchenAid’s response was to charge me for a replacement that is supposedly lead-free. It is outrageous that a company would provide products that pose health risks to its customers and then expect them to pay extra to avoid exposure to harmful substances. This is not only irresponsible but deeply concerning, as it shows a lack of regard for consumer safety. KitchenAid needs to take accountability and ensure all products they sell are safe, without passing the burden of cost onto the customer.

I put it back into the box, called customer service to return since the system did not allow me to return it online, although it was purchased online, I was told to check my email within 2 to 3 business days and look for an email from FedEx, they will be sending the return shipping label. 10 days pass no shipping label. I called again customer service, they had no clue about my past phone call, and just like robots, I was told again to wait for an email from FedEx to get the shipping label. I bought a Kitchen Aid 6.9 L Professional Bowl-Lift Stand mixer last August 1, 2017 from Focus Global Store (a Kitchen Aid distributor) in the Philippines. It cost us P64,585 (equivalent to US$1,265). After less than 3 years of using the unit, it stopped operating in March 2020. The country was on a complete lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemia so we were not able to bring the unit to the store for checkup. We were finally able to do this in August and we left the unit for servicing.

A few days ago, we received notice that the repair would cost us P23,110 (35% of its original cost) because the motor needed replacement. I immediately questioned why a major critical part like the motor is not covered by warranty but I was given the cold reply that it's simply not covered. This is totally unacceptable answer from Kitchen Aid who presumably takes pride in its products marketing and post-marketing services. I'm not optimistic that my concern will be addressed. The purpose of sharing this experience for other people considering this product and other products of Kitchen Aid to be aware of this lack of customer consideration.

I never received my over $300 KitchenAid stand mixer (which, as other people have said, is incredibly overpriced since it can almost always be found at a lower price from third-party sellers). It was either stolen or misplaced by FedEx, and even though FedEx admitted that they had lost the package, KitchenAid customer service refused to help me in any way by replacing or refunding the mixer. After calling twice and waiting for nearly 2 hours on hold altogether, they basically told me it was my problem to deal with it. Regardless of what FedEx said happened, I never received/signed for/or saw my package and therefore I should be sent a new one. I don't know why that is so hard to accept. Bottom line, if you want a KitchenAid mixer, order it from a third party seller because if something goes wrong KitchenAid customer service WILL NOT HELP YOU. Or just buy another brand, like Cuisinart, Smeg, Bosch, or Ankarsrum.

First batch of dough, mixed on stir, couldn't even incorporate everything before it started slowing down and making noises. Never felt so belittled or stupid in my life. Used your mixers for years, on stir this thing should be able to mix through cement. Can't even get through a 5 cup batch of sourdough. Was told I don't know what I'm doing. Keep your trash heap of a mixer to yourselves if you can't bother to at least make up for terrible assembly by fixing a 3 DAY OLD MIXER. PS - I worked in kitchens for years as has my husband, I know how to operate a mixer. Every single KitchenAid item I own is being thrown out TODAY. If I don't light it on fire first.

I owned my Kitchenaid tilt head for 37 years. It just wore out. I bought a new one and immediately noticed the spring and washer was missing from the shaft. I was told it was “not needed and it allowed ease of cleaning”. The beater jumps all over the place without the tension of the spring. When you are scraping the beater, it comes off the shaft because there isn’t any tension to hold it tight. You buy a mixer based on how well it performs, not how easy you can wipe off the mixing shaft. I wish I had bought a different brand. Kitchenaid is not what it used to be.

I really liked my KitchenAid Classic mixer; however, when the plastic worm gear broke, I found out that KitchenAid does not supply parts for the mixer. This gear is designed to break in order to keep other parts from breaking if the mixer jams. That is good except that the aftermarket parts are not made to function as reliably as the original. The aftermarket gears will not handle the stress of kneading dough and have broken far more easily than the original. What happens? The plastic portion of the gear breaks free of the metal hub and the gear simply stays still while the hub spins. What is the effect? Your mixer will no longer be capable of kneading dough and other thick substances. I regret placing my confidence in KitchenAid when I purchased this mixer. I do NOT recommend you purchase one; visit the KitchenAid site to see for yourself to find repair parts.
