How does Mochi Health work?

Mochi Health aims to make getting obesity care simple and virtual. You start by filling out an online questionnaire about your health and weight goals. Then you schedule a video visit with a board-certified doctor or dietitian who will review your history and discuss treatment options, including weight loss medications if they’re right for you.

If prescribed, your medication is sent to a partner pharmacy and shipped straight to your door. Your membership includes ongoing access to your care team for follow-ups and support. You can manage appointments and communicate with providers through the Mochi app or website. You can cancel your membership anytime without fees or penalties.

Mochi typically doesn’t offer refunds for any reason on medications. If you receive an incorrect medication, Mochi asks that you reach out to its customer care team for assistance.

Mochi Health weight loss medications

Mochi offers weight loss medication options based on your health history, goals and what your provider decides is medically appropriate. With options ranging from injectable GLP-1s to oral options, it has a wide variety of choices depending on your needs.

Here’s a look at the weight loss medications Mochi Health offers.

Injectable weight loss medication

Injectable weight loss medications from Mochi Health include:

  • Wegovy / Ozempic (semaglutide): A GLP-1 agonist created for Type 2 diabetes and approved for weight loss in 2021. It helps reduce appetite by increasing insulin and slowing stomach emptying. Clinical trials showed 10% to 14% weight loss when paired with exercise and dietary support.
  • Mounjaro / Zepbound (tirzepatide): Targets both GLP-1 and GIP receptors to help curb cravings and keep you full longer. Mochi cites studies showing weight loss of up to 22.5% with ongoing use.
  • Saxenda / Victoza (liraglutide): Another GLP-1 medication, similar to semaglutide. It works by slowing digestion and signaling the brain to reduce hunger. Trial results show about 6% weight loss after one year.

Oral medications

Oral weight loss medications from Mochi Health include:

  • Rybelsus (semaglutide): The oral version of semaglutide. Mochi notes it works similarly to Wegovy and Ozempic and may support weight loss with lifestyle changes.
  • Topamax / Qudexy / Trokendi XR (topiramate): A medication developed for epilepsy, now used off-label for weight loss. Mochi says it helps reduce cravings, and patients have shown 5% to 14% weight loss in studies.
  • Zyban / Contrave / Aplenzin XR (bupropion): Originally approved for depression and smoking cessation, this drug reduces cravings and supports weight loss when used alone or with Naltrexone.
  • Apo-Naltrexone / ReVia (Naltrexone): Typically prescribed for substance use disorder. Mochi says it may help suppress appetite and is often used with bupropion in combination therapy.
  • Xenical / Alli (orlistat): A lipase inhibitor that blocks fat absorption. Mochi notes this medication supports modest weight loss but may cause GI side effects and impact vitamin absorption.

Mochi Health insurance coverage

Mochi Health works with some insurance plans, but it doesn’t publicly list which ones. Users can check eligibility by submitting their insurance information through Mochi’s website. A virtual medical assistant can help you understand your coverage options and assist with insurance-related steps, such as prior authorization requests when applicable.

You can pay for membership fees from Mochi Health with a health savings account (HSA) or a flexible spending account (FSA). As of publication, Mochi doesn't accept Medicaid, Medicare or TRICARE.

If your insurance plan is eligible, you may qualify for Mochi’s Wellness Plus Plan. Medication coverage may vary separately based on your plan, prescription and prior authorization requirements. A Mochi representative can explain your options.

Mochi Health shipping and delivery

Prescriptions from Mochi Health can take up to 10 days to arrive, though you may receive your medications sooner.

Once a provider approves a prescription, it’s sent to one of Mochi’s partner pharmacies for fulfillment. You can check your order status in the patient portal. If it shows “Order has been placed with the pharmacy,” your prescription has been approved and forwarded for processing.

Shipping delays and support

Mochi Health recommends that customers experiencing shipping issues reach out to the support team directly by calling 619-648-1247.

Mochi notes that it doesn’t have access to real-time pharmacy updates after the order has been sent. To track the shipment itself, you can create an account with the carrier, such as FedEx or UPS, to receive notifications.

    Refunds & PayoutsBilling

I'm suing Mochi regarding their billing practices and the fact their pharmacy sent me a different medication that what they confirmed I ordered and I got sick. I would have let the whole thing go had they not re-billed me after I attempted cancellation and taken a hard line over a $79 refund. The company is going out of business soon due to a large class action payout and also a suit by Novo Nordisk and other lawsuits. They are making a last minute cash grab.

This app is GARBAGE. DO NOT USE!!!! They will not issue you a refund EVEN WHEN YOU CANCEL THE SAME DAY THE CHARGE HAPPENED! And their customer service reps hang up on you!!!! THE SAME DAY PEOPLE. Go with any other app, literally ANY OTHER APP!!! I have NEVER in my life had such terrible customer service or encountered a company who wants to fraudulently keep your money when you request an immediate cancellation. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. 0 stars!

THIS COMPANY IS A MAJOR MAJOR SCAM. MARK AND AVOID. Begging people not to use this awful company. The medicine made me break out into rashes and then I had to cancel my subscription and throw away $400 worth of product. After cancelation of my subscription, they continued to charge me twice - TWO $199 charges over the course of 6 more months. I called customer service and they could do nothing to refund the money even though I have the cancelation email in my inbox.

I have had a highly positive experience with my doctor at Mochi Health, as well as with all of the pharmacies and medications I have shopped at through the platform. I've tried Tirzepatide, Minoxidil/Finasteride, NAD+, Ondansetron. All arrived very promptly. My current doctor is responsive and receptive and I even was able to change providers when my previous one took too long to approve my medication requests.

BEWARE!! This practice intends to convince you to pay a subscription fee to meet with physicians you will never meet. They will reschedule you and stand you up again, all while charging you a subscription fee under their “no refund policy” should you find it's all nonsense and ask for one. This is a scam! It's intended to separate idiots from their hard-earned money, and alas, I fell for it. Do not be stupid like me and run like the wind from Mochi Health. I could go on for days about the lack of care in their customer service. I have screenshots of admissions of a lack of service with no offer of resolution. Just a “you can cancel your service.” It's free money to them! BEWARE!!

I was not able to tolerate the medication they prescribed, and I requested the service be cancelled on March 31, 2026. Last night, on April 19, 2026, they charged me a new $79 fee. I let them know of the mistake first thing this morning and requested a refund. They told me they would not refund me even though I had notified them that I can’t tolerate their medication weeks ago. They said they have a no refund policy. Beware, I saw lots of complaints like mine about not being able to cancel service with them at places like Reddit. I should have paid closer attention. If they make it right with me, I will delete the negative reviews even though they don’t deserve that.

They are not there for you. You are a subscription that is all. If you don’t know your needs they won’t either. A 30 min call scheduled for review and prescription, 10 minutes actual with half of it a recorded message. The provider doesn’t listen to you and then you have to chase what you need if you know what you need. Willingly prescribing you a medication you specified you were allergic to. And the lack of execution does not lead to accountability.

I didn't realize the hormone medication was not set up for auto-renewal so that was my fault. When I realized this before my prescription ran out, I submitted a request to my doctor. She filled it and submitted it to the pharmacy. I had an appointment with my regular primary doctor locally and requested the same prescription which was incredibly cheaper and filled the next day. It is now two weeks later and my mochi prescription still hasn't been filled, let alone shipped.

I tried to cancel it, but they told me they can't once it has been sent to the pharmacy, however the website says refunds cannot be issued once it is refilled and shipped. If it had been shipped, this wouldn't be an issue because I understand why it can't be sent back. Why can it not be cancelled at the pharmacy? There isn't a pharmacy I have ever heard of that takes two weeks to fill a prescription. How can anyone stay well and on medication needed when it takes that long? I haven't had any issues with the tirzepatide but I may just need to cancel my subscription completely because this is ridiculous. Not to mention the medication was twice as much to reorder then it was the first time ($32 compared to $76).

Mochi is a scam - they charge you a membership fee before you even know if you are qualified for GLP1 meds, or what dosage. I cancelled in mid February, and they billed me mid March for the $79 membership fee. I would not recommend this service to anyone. Talk to your doctor and see if you can just get it direct from manufactured - the price is the same, and in some cases cheaper, depending on your dosage.

I was charged $720 for an automatic annual renewal of a Mochi subscription that I had not used in over a year and honestly did not remember was still active. When I first saw the charge, I believed it might be fraudulent and disputed it with AMEX. After AMEX completed its investigation and I realized it was the annual renewal for Mochi, I immediately contacted Mochi to request either a refund or to be billed for one month of service instead of the full year. I was told Mochi could not assist because the charge appeared as disputed in their system and that I should call back once the dispute was cleared. I also messaged a Mochi representative (Rachel) and received the same response.

After AMEX closed the dispute, I called Mochi again last week and was told to check back in a week. When I called again today, I was informed that because I had not cancelled within 72 hours of the renewal charge, they could not issue a refund or even charge for one month instead of the full year. This was the first time anyone mentioned a 72-hour policy. By the time I was told about it, it was already too late. I was also asked to send screenshots of prior conversations, which Mochi should already have access to in their own records.

I understand that I did not cancel before the subscription renewed, and I accept responsibility for that oversight. However, I made good-faith efforts to resolve the issue as soon as I realized the charge was legitimate. Because Mochi told me they could not assist while the dispute was pending, I was effectively prevented from addressing the issue within the timeframe they now say was required. The end result is that I have been charged $720 for a full year of service that I will not be using, and Mochi has refused to offer any reasonable accommodation. This experience has been extremely disappointing and does not reflect a customer-focused approach to resolving billing issues.
