Ethan Allen to make your customers extremely satisfied you need to check the furniture order and artwork before it arrives at the home needing repairs.. It shouldn't be the customers responsibility to take pictures and negotiate repairs or replacement... In our case with all the back and forth we settled for a 15% discount which is nothing to what we had paid for the artwork and the stools and their issues. Just couldn't take the stress of it all any longer. It saddens me to even write this experience since Ethan Allen was always our family store to shop in..

We ordered a sofa and two chairs from Audrey ** at Ethan Allen in Milford Jan 12, 2020 after several trips to the store before we made our decision. Audrey was very patient with our need to take time with the decision. We placed the order on Jan 12. The furniture came on Feb 29! The delivery was easy, the men were careful with everything and located the pieces where we wanted them. It looks great! We chose a muted paisley for the chairs. The pattern is perfectly centered on the backs, the cushions and matched to the bottom of the chairs. We purchased furniture from Ethan Allen the last time we bought furniture. After 25 years and 5 moves we decided it was time for new things and are happy to report that this new stuff looks like it will last another 25 years.

I request replacement part for a pieces of furniture and she got me the part in no time. The chair screws were missing for a while and I couldn't find it in other tool stores. I went to ETHAN ALLEN store at 8134 Yonge Street in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada where ** is Operations Administrator. She got the parts from warehouse and I was relief.

The Ethan Allen store in Raleigh NC has a vast amount of furniture to choose from. I have several pieces of their furniture. The staff are informed and friendly. They are willing to answer questions as needed. The furniture is made well and will last for many years. I am a very satisfied customer!

Began with them (9/30) by ordering dining area table and chairs with a December 31st ship date - they now will not commit to this date. Forecasting "sometime in January". Followed with order for living room sectional (Oct. 10 for 12/31/delivery), coffee table, credenza, carpet, lamps, end tables, pillows, 2 bookcases with glass shelves. Pieces came on 11/17... (carpet, coffee table, one end table, credenza). Wall units are coming in two days (12/7) sans glass shelves in one (they don't know where they are), pillows, lamps - no sectional (won't give us a date). Dining area carpet - won't even give us a date here two months later. Decorator used seems powerless to affect any of this (her fee is included in the furniture, etc. prices) which are very high.

Moral: if you expect any reasonable delivery or someone looking out for your order to assure reasonable delivery - you are in the wrong place, just as we are now. A sample of how a once powerful brand may go downhill in the future if this customer service nightmare runs rampant throughout the customer base. Live and learn folks.

Very nice furniture, good service, knowledgeable staff, prices are high but the quality is better than other places. If you are looking for a show piece I would suggest this store or an auction house.

Love our furniture, had a minor problem but it was fixed immediately. Really appreciated the fabric selection and and complementary pieces. The sales people were friendly and very knowledgeable about styles as well as colors. We brought our color palette into the store and we're glad we did. Once we settled on colors our selection process went very smoothly. The hardest thing for us was getting the styles we both liked. This is where we needed the most help. We look forward to working with this store again in the future. We already have ideas on how we will upgrade the next room.

Upon looking for a dining room set; the layout of the store did not lend itself to really getting a feel of what was available in terms of fabrics, prints, etc.

The furniture is beautiful. Delivery personnel are professional and take pride in what they do. For instance, there was a dent in a table top that I did NOT even notice. I would have missed it completely and even after shown, I could barely see it. A new was delivered, replaced and I was able to keep the damaged one without charge. The furniture is delicate. Nicks/dents easily. Otherwise I love it. I love it even more because it is 100% American Made. A little expensive but so worth it.

It goes without saying that the quality of the furniture is almost unparalleled. Long lasting, passed down to the Next Generation kind of furniture. Customer service is fine, I did not feel super pressured into making a purchase. My only complaint is that the selection, I felt was limited. I also shopped at Circle Furniture and Boston Design Center and found a wider selection of styles.

Very high quality furniture. Vast selection of choices for each particular item of furniture. The rugs are spectacular in both design and quality. The free interior design service really helps because she came out to our home. She made a computer design of our rooms. Since she sees the room layout and natural lighting, etc. she really was able to help with proper furniture sizes and arrangement. The lighting she recommended was perfect. A zero % deferred interest plan was very helpful too.

I recently ordered two decorative jars online. They were to be used together. One was not as advertised. I will be returning it. The other item, I'm stuck with because it was a clearance item. (Not custom BTW - a mass produced item like a lot of the things they sell.) I don't know why I ever ordered from this company - my bad! I had furnished some rooms with them in the past and always found their return policies draconian. They are still as bad. Their customer service is also terrible. I had to leave a message and when I received a call back from a rep, he was supercilious and really couldn't care less about helping. It was cut and dried - the answer to all my requests was No, No, and always No. In this day and age, with the options available to consumers it makes no sense to order from Ethan Allen. Even if you're tempted - don't do it. You'll be sorry.

Set up delivery and gave my credit card over the phone. The delivery man presented me with an ancient multi carbon copy credit card form- for modern people this was the one from the 1980’s. Where they slid the machine back and forth over the copies to make an imprint. This particular copy that he presented me (‘I have a photo and have since had to change my credit card, notify all business contacts that make automatic deductions). The form had my credit card complete number. The expiration date and the security code. Need I say more. The receptionist stated “I can’t listen to you”. The manager - **? I believe - states “I’ve never had a problem in 40 years”. How cavaliers and arrogant when it’s not his money and after I spent $10000 in his store and he hung up on me. Beware this dangerous policy and even worse their arrogance in refusing to accept any acknowledgement of wrong doing.

2k dollar dining set chipping 3 mos of use. We've been Ethan Allen customers since the 90's. Most of the house is Ethan Allen and Danish antiques. We bought a table and chairs set in the late Spring of this year. Within a month of delivery, the finish on the table started bubbling and chipping up. The corner tops of the chairs started chipping as well. I contacted my salesman about this and he went ahead and set me up as a warranty claim. I had someone come out from Ethan Allen to take pictures. His first question was "did it get wet?" Well, tables are made to be wiped down, no? Imagine how many tables in restaurants get wiped down. There hasn't been a flood in my home but I do wipe down the table with wet dishcloth daily, sometimes 2x a day. Not unheard of?

Well, he filed the claim for me and weeks later I was told my claim was denied by the folks back East, my damages were due to "misuse." WOW, we are a family of 5, I didn't know use was misuse!? My salesman felt terrible (thanks John if you read this) and offered to have the table refinished in the store but it would change the finish and color. No thanks. I decided to spend the $ on a glass top for the table and hopefully have it for years without issue. How pathetic of a company. They do not stand behind their product. There is clearly an issue with the finish that was used (old, too thin and do I dare say the top is veneer!?) and then blamed this on the customer. This is how centuries-old companies go under. Meanwhile, I have 70-year-old furniture in my care that remains gorgeous with my misuse of care. Beware if you are buying wood from Ethan Allen. Beware period, there seems to be no warranty.

We are writing this note from our experience with a specific Customer Service Rep from Ethan Allen Furniture Store in Montreal QC, CA. Ethan Allen Design Consultant Zania **, re; our experience with her was awesome. She was sooo patience with us and soo knowledgeable. We traveled to the Montreal QC. store twice and she traveled to our home (2 hrs from Montreal) as well to help us design and decide what would work best in our living room. We know we can be difficult but she was amazing in dealing with us and assisting us in making our final decision and purchase. Zania thank you again. You are the best and the number 1 reason why we chose Ethan Allen for our Furniture Purchase.

I have been a customer of Ethan Allen since 1990 and I have always loved their product quality. This piece is terrible. It is advertised as distressed and the piece is done well except for the draw front which looks hideous with the entire front smooth and clean except for 3 marks that look lite someone took a flat screwdriver and a hammer to it. VERY POOR judgment that does not match any of the rest of the unit. When I complained I was told it was within the quality standards. The fact that it looks ridiculous doesn’t matter.

We choose Ethan Allen because we found the brand-name and products in China through its partner MARKOR. We love the style and then we search if there is any store in Montreal. Lucky enough there is one and Zania approached us as a designer. I have to say the whole process is so smooth and wonderful. Zania worked closely with us about every details, not only style, color, taste but also propose some products with very attractive price! She's also the person who help us to coordinate the delivery and install because we were not in Montreal at that time. And quality side, we have no complain about their products. Everything seems to be good condition. We also buy the insurance which can cover some damages/accidents. We highly recommend Zania as your designer and also highly recommend Ethan Allen as your high end furniture choice.

My husband and I were get up with our mattress and decided to do research and find a high quality firm mattress. We were also in the search for a sturdy couch. After extensive research we found both at Ethan Allen. The moment we walked into the store from the last point of our delivery we were satisfied. Chris at the Ann Arbor store put himself out there to offer suggestions. We took a mattress quiz and it offered us options to meet our needs. All of the staff was inviting and open to our questions and so patient when we said we need a moment to think about this purchase. We were left alone to discuss our thoughts and agreed to the selection and purchased them. Chris kept in touch with me throughout the 3 week wait.

We had a chair that we bought from Ethan Allen in 1995 that we wanted to keep but it needed to be reupholster. Chris put us onto a guy that works with Ethan Allen. Chris even went so far as to suggest colors and fabric based on our current living room furniture. Now it's 3 weeks later and the two delivery guys come to the house looking neat, clean and so pleasant. They were in an out of the house in 10 minutes removing all of the plastic and the old mattress. Believe me the quality of service, workmanship and quality of the product and the effective way we were approached all along the way is worth the money. Thank you Chris - you are fantastic.

Wow! We were sold a pile of BS by Ethan Allen Schaumburg! My wife and I ordered a custom headboard on March 17, 2019, with an estimated ship date of May 2, 2019 (which is reasonable). Today is August 13th and they are now just ready for delivery, but first, they want payment in full before they will even schedule the delivery or put it on the truck!!! You are 101 days PASSED expected ship date…There is ZERO trust that this headboard will be delivered on time or as expected. Ethan Allen has to be out of their minds if they think I am going to pay in full prior to the headboard being delivered and inspected. I even offered to pay as soon as the headboard was in place...but that was a no go.

Turns out that the CEO of Ethan Allen has removed all power from the store managers and the district managers, as they are not empowered to override this 'rule'; the CEO needs to approve this...Really? What kind of little man complex, micro-management structure is that? There's a reason why companies like Amazon, Apple, Starbucks, etc are SO successful. It's because they OBSESSED with the Customer Experience and Customer Satisfaction.

I was at the Store in Richmond BC. I asked about a tiny 14" brass side table they wanted $800.00 for. I asked a salesperson if I ordered 2 of them would the be all scratched up and haphazardly made like the floor model. The weld marks had been buffed out with a wire wheel grinder and not polished. The bars between were unevenly spaced, and crooked. I am a welder so I can safely say it was very poor quality assembly. When I pointed this out to the salesperson they just walked away and ignored my questions. This is not only bad customer services but no standards in quality control.

It was our lucky day when my husband and I went to Ethan Allen's Arlington, TX store and were greeted by Sara **. We have purchased many Ethan Allen pieces for our home and at this time were in the market for a new sofa. Sara ** guidance was superb and very much appreciated in helping us to choose just the right sofa to suit our home. Next was the overwhelming task of choosing the fabric. Sara was focused on helping us locate the absolute perfect fabric that would blend beautifully with our room. Her design skills, product knowledge, and expertise made our sofa purchase a true pleasure. It was delivered in the time frame she quoted and is an absolutely gorgeous addition to our living space.

We subsequently decided to purchase two recliners for our kitchen sitting room and called Sara for an appointment. Upon our arrival she had two fabric choices selected that were both perfect. We easily and immediately chose one of them. Sara has a very unique talent and she is extremely qualified. She is so gracious and her patience is unending in striving to understand your personal needs and wishes. Sara is now considered a treasured friend! We are patiently awaiting the arrival of what I know will be two amazingly beautiful recliners. Sara ** is a rare find and I highly recommend her for any Ethan Allen purchase you might be considering!

When we ordered a custom bed for our new home, it took three months to arrive and when it came it did not fit up our staircase. The company then charged us a $900 restocking fee to return the bed, or we could wait an additional three months for a new bed. The alternate bed was not what we wanted for the room and they refused to refund our money. We were also given the run around through the Ethan Allen corporate structure with no one willing to give us a straight answer. Their tactic was to delay and play phone tag with us until we were absolutely crazy. This is not the company that it once was and there are plenty of high end furniture stores out there. Skip this one!!!

The service in this place is terrible. You have old grannies as their interior decorators with terrible taste. They don't ask the right questions to learn about your likes and dislikes, instead they just say, "Oh this is great, that is great." They provide you with images BUT the fabric is not even available!!! Their shipping policy sucks. They reward you if you buy less but if you buy more they penalize you with more fees. DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE? Get with the times folks!

I was in the market for a new bed & had been perusing the Ethan Allen site for a few weeks. I had a random question (I don't remember what it was about) and decided to leverage the chat line. This outstanding designer - Jennifer ** answered my question and made several suggestions on what I could do with the new bed I purchased. As a result, I not only purchased a gorgeous bed, but 2 gorgeous nightstands & the dresser. My bedroom now looks like the oasis I've dreamt about thanks to Jennifer. She helped me moved beyond the 'sight unseen phobia', and out of my comfort zone! Delivery service was grade & thus far I am very pleased with my purchase & the service I received. I've already reached out to Jennifer for my second undertaking... She's the best!

I bought a sectional 3 years ago and we use it daily. No animals or small children. Just my husband and I. The couch has pilled and every one of the cushions even where we do not sit just thread off. They want me to pay 1300.00 to have new fabric sent to me. I will never purchase again. All I get is excuses and telling me there's nothing they can do.

We had difficulty finding a couch. Ethan Allen worked with us to find one that reclined correctly. When it turned out we didn’t need the battery pack, a refund was given quickly. We chose our own fabric and have a unique and comfortable couch. The salesperson visited our home to make sure the couch was just what we wanted - amazing service and quality! You get what you pay for at Ethan Allen!

I have purchased most of the furniture in our home from EA based on a History is quality a outstanding customer service - No More! The last piece had a defect in the corner of a cushion, and after handing to seal with seeing photos, a technician’s visit, having to place several calls to be told a cushion would be sent, having not received it, calling again to find out this had been escalated to higher management and consensus was that the defect was within EA’s standards for quality, I am done.

We had purchased furniture from Ethan Allen as we were a total loss in the Thomas CA Wildfires. The quality of the furniture is horrible and not what was sold and or advertised as "top quality, made in the USA, guaranteed service and quality". We had the choice to purchase our furniture, anywhere at any cost, and decided on Ethan Allen based upon the designer and their reputation. I can say this, furniture I had previous to the fire from Pottery Barn outperformed their furniture 10 to 1. Ongoing problems, mis-dyed fabrics, broken handles upon delivery, chipping varnish, slipcovers don't fit. Bad service, lag times for repairs, replacement. Our experience and the quality of furniture with Ethan Allen has been terrible. Damaged, bad constructed furniture and we spent $14,000.00.

Getting this resolved is a nightmare. Over 400 complaints from the Department of Consumer Affairs and BBB all with similar issues. Ethan Allen quality is not what it once was. It’s a shame. Especially after we lost everything in the fire and trying to make our new house a home again. We put our trust and confidence in your brand and have been let down. The core values from the CEO, FAROOQ KATHWARI, are far from the truth. We have only had the furniture for 4 months. No resolution.

I have been buying furniture from Ethan Allen for over 30 years. From the first piece I purchased to dozens of pieces I purchased over the years, I remain overjoyed at the quality and performance of their furniture! I receive compliments all the time on my home and how it is furnished and decorated. This is in large part to the quality and design of my Ethan Allen pieces.

We purchased a Ethan Allen bedroom set 10 years ago and it's impeccable condition. We have never had to call them about any problems with the quality of the furniture. We purchased some bar stools 3 years ago and started to have some issues with finish. Ethan Allen customer service is AWESOME. They had someone come pick them up and fix them. Love Ethan Allen for their furniture and customer service.

Bought my bed online on Black Friday. It took longer than I expected to arrive but it was worth the wait. Delivery men arrived promptly within time window and the bed set up took about 5 minutes because I have an adjustable bed so they just built around it. Love it! This is my second Danby. Fantastic value!

From start to finish, working with Ethan Allen has been terrible. My Lynwood table finally arrived after 2 months and it arrived damaged. Getting this resolved is a nightmare. The store bounces me off to corporate and cares very little about our issues. The repair guy they contracted to come fix the table decided he didn't want to do the repairs so he left us hanging. He didn't show up for a scheduled appointment and didn't bother to call me and let me know he wasn't coming. Ethan Allen says they may consider giving me a discount but it would negate all warranties on the table (How fair is that? What a crumby offer.).

As of now, they are attempting to find another repair guy to come fix the table. You would think that Ethan Allen would have higher standards for such high priced merchandise (Lynwood table is over $4000). I expected so much more from Ethan Allen, this being my first (and last) purchase. Getting a damaged table SHOULD warrant an immediate replacement and from most other retailers it would, but not from Ethan Allen. If your item arrives damaged, too bad. So sad... You're going to get a repair job on what you thought would be a brand new, damage free item and you'll get a lot of rude people to deal with in the long, drawn out, nightmarish process. My advice, don't buy from Ethan Allen.

I ordered an accent table online at Ethan Allen. Before I ordered, I called a local store and was told it was in stock. I then ordered the table and when I received the confirmation it said delivery in 7 weeks! After a few weeks, I received an email stating it will now be shipped in 10 weeks and again another email in 13 weeks. I also checked my credit card statement and saw they charged me for the table that I still do not have. I now see the table is discounted more so I called customer service to see if they could give me the higher discount since I still do not have the table.

The lady said she could do something and would call me back and I never heard from her. I called Customer Service twice today and all I get is voicemail. Left two messages and no return call. The store can’t help as it is an online order. The worst customer service ever. I will certainly never buy from them again and tomorrow if I don’t hear from them, I’m going to stop payment. They shouldn’t have an item online to sell that they can’t deliver on. A bunch of crooks.

We purchased a 3000$ table from these guys just over a year ago in Sandy, Utah. HORRIBLE OVERALL EXPERIENCE. The finish on the table started coming off about 3-6 months after we got the table. Our salesperson, Diane **, was the worst salesperson I have ever worked with. She was great right up until we needed her help after purchase. I cannot express how horrible this woman is. She literally had no time for us once we had already purchased from her and had an legitimate issue. They had a technician come out to inspect the finish issue. The technician concluded that it was a defect in material yet Ethan Allen still refused to do anything about it. I could go on and on and would be happy to if anyone wants to know more. I will never purchase anything from this shady company again.

From start to finish, I have been highly disappointed by my experience with Ethan Allen in Watchung, NJ. The designers are arrogant, overconfident in their skills, discourteous and dismissive. We spent a ton of money for poor quality window treatments that didn’t even hold up for a year. Don’t make the mistake we did! Avoid this place and save your money and sanity!

I have an Ethan Allen Ashton curio cabinet that requires replacement rollers under the doors (as they were lost in a recent move). No one at their sales locations or customer service provides any help. In fact they seem to strive for excuses to avoid assisting a customer and told me that the case is too old when in fact they continue to carry the same piece with the same serial number. The conclusion was reached after four (4) calls to three locations.

I have never experience customer service so wonderful. I went to the Lake Oswego store and was helped by Zana ** - I cannot do her justice in this description, she was absolutely AMAZING! I had never purchased a quality dining room table before and she made it stress free and easy. She laid out all my options, was patient, and VERY informative about the products and what would work best for me and my family. She also went above and beyond. The first day I went in I was there for a while and she had a client appointment coming up- but never rushed me. Once I had a plan for all the items I wanted with finishes, fabrics, etc. she didn't have time to write me a quote but said she would email it to me later that afternoon when she returned after her in-house consultation.

Later that evening I got a voicemail from her apologizing for not yet sending it- she had gotten back to the store when it was closing, but stated she brought it home to email it to me but forgot to write down my email and needed it again. By the time I got the voicemail it was late so I text her giving her my email and stated she could send it to me the next day- but no, she still sent it to me that night!! I could not believe how wonderful she was. I sent an email back with a few changes and got a response quickly with a new quote and made an appointment with her to finalize it all. Because of her Ethan Allen will now be my primary home store. I could not thank her enough, she made my experience perfect- and I have very high standards.

Also, the furniture is BEAUTIFUL and great quality. There is nothing in the store that wouldn't last my lifetime. During this encounter I bought a dining room table and chairs, which I was able to finance with no interest for 6 months, AND a protection plan for 5 years for only $299! The prices are reasonable and match the quality of the items. I have no doubt that I will return. Thank you!

My husband and I were renovating our master bedroom, and I fell in love with an Ethan Allen bedding set that cost over $1,000 for 4 items. We did not open the items immediately upon receipt other than to briefly look them over in their packaging, as our room was not yet completed. This past weekend after finally finishing our room I opened my new bedding excited to finally use it. I was dismayed to find two of the four items damaged. Our light blue duvet cover has what appears to be black dirt or grease marks in multiple places, and one of the pillow shams has orange marks on it as well as a rip in the fabric.

I contacted customer service who stated that because it has been more than 30 days they will not consider replacing or refunding the items. They also stated that the warranty on fabrics do not apply past the 30 days, which I do not understand as torn fabric is considered a manufacturing defect and the warranty on that is for one year. I explained that the items had never been opened before yesterday, I have all the original packaging, and was even happy to bring it into the store so they can inspect it and see it has never been used but the representative kept stating there was nothing to be done. So now my only option is to either pay MORE money to buy replacement items out of my own pocket, or essentially throw all of the items in the trash as I have an incomplete bedding set. Not to mention repaint my new bedroom as my walls were color matched to the bedding.

I am appalled that a reputable, high end company will not stand behind such poor quality control of their items and that a DESIGN company does not have more than a 30 day window for returns given the fact that many home or decorating projects are not always completed on a perfect timeline where the items will be opened or used right away. I highly advise anyone looking to purchase items there to think twice, and if they do to make sure they go over every inch of their items immediately upon delivery to ensure nothing is wrong since their quality control is clearly lacking.

We live now in South Florida and at the end of November we are moving to Fayetteville, GA. In the past I bought several pieces of furniture and decorations from Ethan Allen and was very pleased. I wanted to get some more pieces for the new house in GA, so I contacted over the phone the EA store in Peach Street City. I was very lucky when my call was answered by interior designer Jennifer **. I had my own ideas, but she improved on all of my choices and made them perfect. She went above and beyond to help me realize what I had envisioned and it took a lot of work on her part to accomplish this over the phone. On top of this, she's amiable, courteous and professional. Amazing experience!

I was given three throws as a thank you gift from friends of my sister's. The original order was bungled with my sister's name and the address of the credit card given mixed together. Once received, I decided to exchange one of the throws. First, the brick and mortar store wouldn't take it and told me I had to ship it. I wrote in and was given the return address to send it to. When I didn't hear from them in a month, I called in and found out they only return credit to the card - no exchange. So now the ladies that sent me this gift know I returned one of them. I had to pay for shipping. All in all, difficult experience.

This review is written with a great deal of disappointment in a company that used to be one of the best. Our experience is similar to many others who have left reviews. In years past we purchased furniture from Ethan Allen and found the product to be high quality and well made. That was then, this is now. We ordered a leather chair (Soho leather chair in charcoal) from our local store in Okatie, SC. The chair as shown on their website and the sample we were shown was to appear naturally weathered and worn. This effect is achieved by a process of sanding the leather.

When the chair arrived, we thought the order had been mixed up and they had sent us the wrong chair. The chair was haphazardly sanded over the entire surface and over-sanded to the point of the original leather being unidentifiable as to color. It looked as if a sander had been given to a child. As one designer said when she saw a picture of the chair, "Someone had a bad day."

The staff at our local store, I believe, wanted to act with integrity and replace the chair. Corporate, however, refused to replace the chair saying the appearance was attributable to "color variations" in the leather. The problem had nothing to do with the color of the leather, but rather the atrocious sanding job. Ethan Allen offered to allow us to pay them a 40% restocking fee. In other words, we could pay them nearly half the cost of the chair and have *nothing* to show for it! How very generous of them. No thank you. Thank goodness we refused to accept the chair so it wasn't in our possession. We disputed the charges through our credit card company and, rightly so, were refunded the entire amount!

My advice to anyone considering buying furniture from this once good, now disreputable company is to proceed with caution. Their product is often low quality and the new corporate attitude is to get your money and refuse customer service. Also, when anything is delivered to your home, inspect it very carefully. If it isn't up to your expectations, refuse delivery. When you do this, ask the delivery person to initial a note made by you that you are not accepting delivery. The process for disputing a claim is somewhat lengthy and tedious but it is better than paying for a piece of furniture you either don't have or would be sad to have in your home.

As part of remodeling my kitchen, I needed to find counter height chairs. After looking through several sites, I decided on a wood painted Windsor counter height chair. At the time there was a sale so I received a discounted price. The chairs are made for each order so they took about 10 weeks to arrive. They are exactly as described. The paint is well done, the chairs are comfortable to sit in. I am very pleased.

I wanted to retract a post I made however it would not let me. My last post should have been about a Chads Ford employee that sold me bad merchandise then lied about the store managers refusing to return them. The post should have been a positive one as I love the store manager at King of Prussia. He’s always helpful and whenever there is an issue he helps work it out. I have shopped there for years and never had something not be rectified. It is one of the only Ethan Allen stores I shop at constantly.

I didn’t know anyone at Chads Ford so when I was treated badly and she was dishonest and stated her words came directly from the store manager it was inaccurate. David never knew and once he heard how upset I was he stepped in and did anything to help. I walked away with it being positive and I wanted my review to show that. I highly recommend King of Prussia or Chads Ford as places to shop and if you aren’t sure which designer to work with I would ask the store manager directly. I love how my designer is at King of Prussia. She is sweet and fun to work with. I feel like I’ve made good friends at this location and highly recommend them.

Lost a customer and completely rubbed the wrong way about this company. Wish I looked at reviews first, as I see many people have also had damaged items delivered. I ordered a very expensive table, and paid the mandatory "Premier" in home delivery service that claims that "exceptional customer service continues right to your door. Our skilled delivery team inspects and prepares each item before carefully assembling it (when necessary) and placing it in your home." My table arrived damaged, and I had to point out the damage to the delivery person. So much for a premier delivery service.

And now another day I must take off of work for the replacement. I contacted customer service asking for this premier delivery service charge to be refunded. She said they don't do that because it could have been damaged on the truck en route to delivery. Hmm ok? I then wrote back saying that the delivery person told me it came right out of the box, so I don't see how it could have been damaged on the truck. No response.

On top of everything, I was never contacted about my replacement like the delivery person said I would be, so I had to contact Ethan Allen. While on the phone with the representative I asked again if this premier delivery fee could be refunded, and the representative's excuse was that "well they're delivering it again." For heck sake I would hope they would replace a damaged item! Aren't I paying the premier delivery fee for things to be done right the first time?! I feel as though this company has no desire to satisfy their customers/retain customers. Just so disappointed, you would expect for such high prices customer service would be better.

About a year and a half after my couch was purchased, I noticed some discoloration on the leather. I reached out to Ethan Allen and was connected to JoAnn in delivery. She was amazing to work with. She was professional, friendly, and helpful. She communicated with me through every step of the process. Her colleague, Jeri, worked diligently on my behalf to get my sofa replaced. I am grateful to both of them for their hard work and to Ethan Allen for standing behind their products. Just a great and positive experience!

I purchased a living room set from Ethan Allen that included a coffee table and end table with matching wood and finish. The coffee table was delivered with flaws in the top (small white divots). Ethan Allen claims the marks were there on purpose to simulate distressing... However there are none of these "distressing" marks on the matching end table. Ethan Allen refused to fix or take back the table. I had to have a local woodworker sand and refinish the table. I would not purchase from Ethan Allen again. Very poor customer service. No concern for customer satisfaction...

I purchased a bed from Ethan Allen. The bed was delivered with damage. You could see where they poorly tried to repair. After numerous complaints they replaced the bed. The second bed has a very poor finish. I will never buy from them again. Their quality is not close to what it use to be. Stay away if you want high end furniture.

Have been customer with Ethan Allen for 10+ yrs. November 2017 I purchased Cameron trestle table. it was delivered April 13,2018. By End of June noticed surface was very scratched, called local store about this issue and explained other than playing cards 3-4 times on table, we had not used table for meals or other activity. Was informed I should have put pad on table from time of purchase. Told “They don’t finish tables like they use to!" I asked why pay 2k+ for table I’m covering up with pad. Was told that’s the only way to keep table from scratching.

Was given customer service number. Called number, 6 weeks later finally had a service man come to my home and look at table. He does repairs for EA. He told me this was normal with wood tables, but his side company could take it to the shop and redo to give me a better and more durable surface. Again I was told “They just don’t make them like they use to!!!” Customer service called me to inform me my claim was denied due to normal use. Will not be shopping here again.

I have had the worst customer service experience that is consistent with many other reviews regarding Ethan Allen. First let me say that I have been an Ethan Allen customer for over 20 years, and most of our home is decorated with Ethan Allen furniture. I have a sofa and love seat in our living room and a dining room set that is 20 years old and both look like new.

Most recently we had an order totaling approximately $10,000. Our designer was fantastic to deal with and we had fun working with him to make our selections and purchase. That’s where the fun stopped. First, delivery was months late. Then two recliners that were part of the order were delivered and we found that one was damaged with leather torn on the back of one chair that we didn’t notice until after the delivery team had left the house. When we reported to our salesperson we were immediately directed to customer service. Customer Service sent a repair person to our house who confirmed the damage, then he unsuccessfully tried to repair the torn leather, then we were told the furniture would be repaired by replacing the chair back.

We disputed this with no success. So we agreed to have the back of the chair repaired. Ethan Allen had to order the part which took months to receive. When the part was finally delivered, the installer came to the house to do the repair only to find that the color of the leather on the replacement part was a mismatch. After much deliberations with customer service they finally agreed to replace both chairs. It was amazing to me that they could not understand that different lots could result in different leather color. It took several more months before we finally received new chairs. Customer service graciously allowed us to continue to use the chairs that were originally delivered while we waited for the order. By the time we received the replacement chairs we noticed that the frame on one of the chairs had already started to break down and made the chair appear crooked. We now have the 2 new chairs and the matter is resolved.

Now onto the next problem, the Adam dining table. We noticed that the table finish was defective, as the table would spot with the touch of a finger. We researched to see how to care for the tabletop and all the care instructions state is wipe the top with a soft damp cloth. That didn’t work and actually left more marks on the tabletop. We contacted the salesperson about this and his advice was wipe the tabletop with a damp soft cloth. Since we were dealing with the chair issue we just didn’t use the table. Then when chair issue was resolved we contacted customer service who sent a third party repair person to the house. The repair person attempted to clean the table and left marks where he attempted to clean. He told us the tabletop finish was defective and that he would report.

After some time we had to contact customer service again as we heard nothing. The customer service agent told us she had received the repair tech’s report and that she would submit a claim to the main customer service office requesting a replacement, however for us not to expect a replacement. Naturally with the passing of time we have now heard that the claim is denied because we did not report timely and they believe this is normal use. I am extremely offended that customer service has declared damage by their repair tech as our misuse. However they offered us the opportunity to purchase a replacement tabletop at a 50% price reduction of $312 plus shipping, with no warranty. We have disputed this outcome stressing the damage caused by the repair tech and his feedback that this tabletop is defective.

At this point we have the choice to look at this newly purchased damaged table or purchase the replacement top. We ordered the replacement top yesterday, had to pay 100% of the cost, tax, and shipping to place the order with the store receptionist. She was very nice, but the store in Charleston, SC didn’t even have the courtesy or professionalism to have our salesperson or store manager work with us on this order. Now it is wait to see how long it will take to be delivered. I have also posted a review on Facebook, as the Ethan Allen website does not have a function to post reviews, and I received an arrogant reply from customer service that offended me as the client. This company obviously is not what it used to be, and I will never step foot in this store again. Buyer Beware.

Good evening, My wife and I are building a house and worked with a sales representative at Ethan Allen (Robbi). She was an absolute pleasure to work with and I would recommend her to anyone that is looking for an intelligent salesperson that is not all about the sale. That is where the glowing endorsement stops. We were spending a great deal of money on furniture and inquired about a discount on the purchase. Our associate informed us that would not be possible, but we could address the matter with her boss, Jack **, Estero, Florida.

Never have I felt so berated. This person came off as an arrogant, condescending **. I did not expect the request to be fulfilled, but one cannot be told yes or no if they do not ask... In short, from the moment he answered the phone, I felt like I was imposing on his time and how dare I contact him to ask for any type of discount. Without saying the words, he informed me that there are many furniture stores out there and, "Please take your business elsewhere." Normally, I would just move on and let it go, but in this case, the arrogance displayed by this individual must be noted to let others know, yes, there are other furniture stores in the area and it is a shame the sales agent lost her commission due the arrogance of her boss.

I ordered a sofa on Dec 16, 2017 that was delivered on Feb 2018. I called the original store where I bought it because it was very uncomfortable to sit on. The 3 cushions that were on it were uneven and not the correct size; very mismatched. The store sends out a 3rd party they use to do their customer service. He came out and used some kind of steamer machine on the arm of the sofa and damaged it; he used too much heat on it.

After that customer service in Margate Fl contacted and said they would order new cushions and picked up my sofa in March; it's sitting in their warehouse and here it is June and I don't have my sofa back. I put it Ethan Allen credit card and the balance is due this month or I have to pay high interest. Do Not buy from this Furniture Store. Years ago they were ok but not anymore. Their furniture is expensive and not worth the money and aggravation. Also I tried many times to contact the store mgr where I bought this sofa in Jacksonville and never received a callback. Big disappointment.

We bought a Paramount Sleeper Sofa in 2013. In 2017 we noticed that the front pad that supports the cushions was bulging out (see photo). We contacted Ethan Allen and they said that because the problem was not in the frame, it was out of warranty. I looked at other pieces of furniture in our home and I noticed that the EA sofa, unlike other items, had a very “squishable” pad to support the cushions. We told EA that the sofa is seldom used (at most 20 times per year) and that my husband and I are not heavy and felt that there must be a problem with the design or construction.

The final decision came in an email, from which I copy directly: “In conjunction with our warranty department, Jenn and I have carefully reviewed each of your questions and concluded that the sofa is up to our manufacturing standards.” Our only option was to buy a replacement pad and pay a technician to replace it. When the pad arrived it was tightly rolled in a box (see photo). How is this soft pad supposed to support the weight of someone sitting on it? As I wrote EA, the sleeper and frame are “great”, unless one sits on the sofa. Not a good thing... for a sofa. And certainly not good “manufacturing standards” for Ethan Allen.

Purchased a sectional at their store. Paid nearly $6,000 for a simple sectional three months ago. Quality is probably the lowest of any piece of furniture I've ever seen. Every time someone sits on it, dye transfers from their clothes. After only three months, the back cushions are sagging and foam within them is deformed. Manager says the wear is "normal" and "performing to Ethan Allen standards." Sincerely disappointed! Save thousands and shop ANYWHERE else!

I ordered the Shelton Sofa on February 17th, 2018 and received the couch on March 10th, 2018. The couch was in perfect condition and was accurately depicted in all of the online pictures. I also had a great customer service experience; the delivery process was incredibly convenient. I received a phone call inquiring about what delivery times worked best for me. After the delivery time was agreed upon, I received a confirmation email, as well as a reminder email and phone call a few days before the actual delivery. I will be a lifelong Ethan Allen customer if this level of customer service and product quality continues.

Began the process of selecting and ordering a custom loveseat September 2017. I was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks. We did not receive the loveseat until February 2018. Their reasoning was that they had difficulty finding the material? Really??? I ordered pillows that were dark to offset the light couch. Confirmed the color with sale rep before product was received and then with the delivering party as light pillows were delivered. The customer sales rep that called refused to make the order right (and after all of the time we had waited, they were going to complain about redoing 2 small pillows? Seriously??). She was rude and condescending--I wouldn't train my customer sales reps to be that way!!! Additionally, the material had holes and snags which they have to come out to correct. I have not received any type of notification from them saying when that will be. I will NEVER use Ethan Allen again, nor recommend them to my friends or family!!

This is a follow up to my previous post. Ethan Allen's district manager got in touch with me following my post and expressed that the sentiment that the experience that I had does not reflect who they are. As I was still interested in the table, a new designer Ellen **, was sent to my home and she provided me with a completely different experience. Ellen was warm and incredibly helpful. She took her time to help me find a table and table base stain color and chair selections and fabric color for chairs. I felt that she really put her heart into her work. She made the process enjoyable. Ellen even provided me with additional info on interior design topics (chalk paint, where to get slipcovers). She went back to the office and additionally worked to get a better match for the chair seats that was 50 dollars lower (300$ savings) than the one we were thinking of and it matched better and met my needs.

I felt really comfortable with my decision and I am super excited about my new dining room. I really appreciated the effort this company took to correct the mistake. I have to be honest, that I did feel that both the district manager and Ellen came across as very genuine and sincere. I felt that they went the extra mile to make me happy. This company could have ignored my review but did not and though I am one customer they went out of their way to show me who they are. The price quoted was fair and reasonable. I look forward to purchasing Ethan Allen products again in the future.

I went to the Ethan Allen Rockville store to purchase a dining room table. I received a sales staff member who scheduled a design consultation and visited our home. The sales staff member insisted that she would only show me one table, one stain choice that she had selected. If I wanted to see more than one, then I would need to do it on my own, and she handed me the catalog. Unfortunately many stains are only available to view at the design center and I was given no assistance to look at them.

When I asked about whether the table easily picks up scratches, I was given a lecture as to how tables need care and if you take a nail and purposefully scratch a surface it will not hold up. I found this response to be very rude. I found that the sale staff was purposefully trying to make me not purchase at Ethan Allen and frankly the experience was very upsetting. The manager later tried to address the situation but I have still not heard back. Frankly very dissatisfied with my experience.

I recently purchased an Ethan Allen Cameron Extension table. I decided to purchase the table from Ethan Allen because I had heard from friends and family that Ethan Allen pieces are lifetime pieces that hold up extremely well. My sister has an Ethan Allen table that she purchased 12+ years ago that has held up extremely well so I expected that I would receive the same quality. I purchased the Cameron table by calling the Lynnwood WA Ethan Allen store. I received the table in early October 2017. Upon delivery of the table I noticed some very light micro scratches already on the table. With very light use (because we have another informal dining table we use for everyday) I have noticed more and more of the micro scratches and they now cover most of the table. We only use the table for formal dining and card games and puzzles.

We've only had the table since October and it sits by a window so the micro scratches are now extremely noticeable all day. I contacted Customer Service in November of 2017 and didn't hear anything back so I contacted Lynette at the Lynnwood Store and she put in another request to Customer Service. I finally received a call from Brian at Ethan Allen today and he told me that surface scratches are not covered under Ethan Allen's warranty and that there is nothing Ethan Allen will do for me. I explained that I have never spent this much on a table before and was expecting it to be a lifetime piece, but after only a few months I am embarrassed by how it looks.

He actually told me the only thing I could do was take a Scotch Brite sponge and orbital sander to the table. I'm not experienced in furniture repair and I don't own an orbital sander much less know how to use one and it seems to me a sander would remove the finish. I requested at least a discount on the table as I will have to now pay someone to repair and put a better finish on the table for me, but Brian said that he couldn't do anything. After I filed a complaint with the BBB, Corporate called and told me they'd give me 40% off a table pad. What a joke! I am disappointed and sick about the amount of money I spent for something that I expected much, much better quality of. I am extremely disappointed that Ethan Allen will not stand behind their products and for their insincere and uncaring customer service. It's disheartening that corporations that once had integrity now succumb to their bottom line over quality and customer service.

Went to Ethan Allen to look for sofa and wing back chairs. Purchased sofa and recliners in Chocolate Old English on 11/26/16 for store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They were delivered 01/19/17. Called store manager on 11/8/17. Footrest, headrest and even a part of recliner that my body doesn't touch, but touches other parts of the chair when reclined is faded. Took pictures as manager requested and sent it to him. Stopped by the store, on Monday, November 20 since I did not hear anything from manager. He took the week off, so I left my name and number to call me back.

The next day a salesperson from called me asking for pictures. I told her I had already sent in the pictures and just have the manager call me. He never called. I called him on December 8 and he said he just got an email from customer service and they said it was wear. I did not buy to furniture to look at. I did not intend to purchase cheap furniture at a high price. He told me to cut a piece of the extra leather and mail it to him and he would order a new footrest for me. And they would see about the rest when it was delivered. Wondered why this is happening to chairs and not to sofa. Discovered that sofa was ordered in Chocolate Old English Grade L 3 and 2 Townsend Recliners in Chocolate Old English Grade 3. Original salesman and manager pulled a fast one on us. What good is a new footrest going to be if it is covered in the same cheap leather! I want new chairs in the same leather as the sofa.

The customer service with Ethan ** is the worst I've experienced in my 73 years and having owned a business. When questioning chairs, lighting fixtures that are overscaled... The salesperson insisted I was wrong and would be fine. Why I allowed it is beyond me when I let someone convince me that it was right when I knew better. If you are dissatisfied on delivery they claim everything is custom and cannot be returned which is not always true. I think the only thing that is custom is upholstery goods. The furniture has no character. You will have to eat their mistakes. Take my word for it.

I bought this beautiful wooden high chair when my kids were born from Ethan Allen about 35 years ago. It was advertised as an "Heirloom" piece... to be handed down. So my children have children and I am ready to hand it down... Only one problem the tray has a broken piece that prevents the tray from sliding on and staying on. So I called the parts department and was laughed at... Told they don't carry the part... They don't carry high chairs. Obviously Ethan Allen didn't really think they would be an "Heirloom " piece. When I asked if they had any ideas for fixing the tray I was laughed at a second time and told "No"! What. Get public relations Ethan Allen!

I went to Ethan Allen in Knoxville, Tennessee as I was so satisfied with my old sofa which lasted 25 years. The designer, Mary Kay ** waited on me. I told her the sectional sofa I wanted to replace was called a "tuxedo design". She assured me that she knew exactly what I wanted as she had worked there for 30 years and knew the stock and styles to the letter. Well, I wound up with a sectional love seat. Too short to even stretch out on. The cushions are wrinkled and puckered and it looks like pure garbage. There was no way they would exchange the sofa for the style I wanted. They still make it as I saw it in their catalog. They did finally send out a guy to change the stuffing in the cushions. That looked better for about one day. Now it's worse than ever.

They have threatened me with big legal fees if I sue them and lose. This piece of garbage set me back well over $5,000. They could care less. I am so disgusted. I really feel ripped off and do not believe the company cares one bit now that the money is in their pocket. I am so disgusted. I recommend you go anywhere else to spend your money. In the grand scope of things a substitute sofa would cost them next to nothing and the remainder would be a tax write off. I am happy to write this review and they better not try to delete it. They are mean and heartless and don't care that I will never do business with them again. I have a 25 year old leather chair, coffee table and fern stand from them. I doubt anything new will last that long. Garbage! And mean spirited company!

ETHAN ALLEN LEATHER SOFA BED 53 St. Third Ave. NY NY - I was told that ETHAN ALLEN stood by their product. Although the salesperson came to my home to get the payment towards the sofa she failed to follow up after delivery. It was very expensive. More expensive than Raymour and Flanigan. Very flimsy leather. The new sofa is stuffed with bumpy fabric everywhere. ETHAN ALLEN must replace. The manager said that a contractor other than ETHAN ALLEN will call me to see if something was wrong. I have other strong quality leather sofas from Raymour and Flanigan and I regret coming to ETHAN ALLEN. Raymour and Flanigan back up their promises and make exchanges when the customer is dissatisfied. I would never recommend this place.

Wood furniture/Cooper kitchen table - Ethan Allen was considered a high-quality furniture maker, this is no longer true. We have ordered a few items over the years, when it was time to order a kitchen table we didn't shop around, we went directly to the local Las Vegas showroom. The wood is advertised as maple, which would be considered a hardwood adequate for kitchen use. However the wood that Ethan Allen used for the table top is as soft as pine and had dents and scrapes after two weeks of completely normal use. Ethan Allen blames the customer. I asked if this is supposed to be a decorative table or a kitchen table because it certainly can't be used as a kitchen table. The finish is foggy and dull, Ethan Allen blames government regulations on finishes.

Ethan Allen appears to do well at selling poor quality items and taking zero responsibility when inevitable complaints pour in. I will agree with other reviewers who have said that Ethan Allen customer service is not customer service. I was unable to reach Ethan Allen by phone and drove down to the store where the saleswoman literally said, "It's wood, use coasters, use placemats!" We have ALWAYS had wooden kitchen tables and we have NEVER had a kitchen table that essentially cannot be used as advertised or intended without being ruined. We took this higher, however Ethan Allen was not willing to do anything other than charge me to replace the then six-week old table top.

We will obviously not shop at Ethan Allen again, but I don't think they care. I'm wondering if Ethan Allen is planning on taking in as much money as possible, selling poor quality items at high prices, attempting to look profitable to investors, but not caring if they stay in business for the next decade or beyond. I could add more detail about our poor experience at Ethan Allen, because we really did attempt to reconcile this, instead, I'll just highly suggest that furniture buyers simply not shop at Ethan Allen. From our experience, and after reading the many other poor reviews, Ethan Allen is not acting like a company that has plans to stay in business. Ethan Allen is selling disposable furniture. Buyers can spend much less for the same poor quality elsewhere.

We recently used the services of an Ethan Allen Designer only to find out she was not responsible for the incorrect measurements she made so even though she caused us to order double the fabric we needed we cannot return it. Of course the Designer keeps the extra commission.

My wife and I walked into the Milford, CT showroom and simply fell in awe of the furniture appearance, quality and design options. We both knew that the prices were a little high but the overall quality and life longevity was worth the cost. To make a long 3 visit to the Milford story short, we actually bought a 4 piece sectional (30 day guaranteed quick ship), a sleep sofa, love seat (30 day quick ship) 2 large rugs, 2 end chairs for our dining room, a large leather ottoman, an entertainment/media center and 2 coffee tables all for a total of $27,000.

This was done in the middle of February and our closing was to be in March so we were told by our sales woman, Jacqueline that it would not be a problem with the two quick ships because many times they are made earlier than the 30 days. We were hemming and hawing over spending so much money but we were also told by Jacqueline that once we sign the agreement, we are obligated to purchase all the furniture, there was no cancellation time. (This in fact was false as we found out there was in fact a 3 day, no obligation cancellation period). We might have cancelled some of our order like the rugs and tables and the end chairs as this would have saved us about $8,000 had we know or been told the truth by the sales associate. Of course she didn't want to tell us this because it would have affected her commission.

Now, getting back to our 30 day quick ship. The sleeper and love seat along with the sectional (minus the center section) arrived as told by the 30 day time period, but the center section which cost $800 did not arrive which made all the difference in the world when we were counting on a full, very large sectional for the company we were having in our new South Carolina home. We immediately called Ethan Allen and their customer service and our sales lady were not concerned whatsoever ever, in fact 10 weeks after is when we finally got our missing piece after having to send them the swatch of fabric from the sectional so they could make the section that had never been made.

The EA product itself is well made but the sales staff and customer service department has much to be desired. To this day we have not heard back from a EA supervisor that said she would make up for this awful mistake. EA, you lost a first time customer because of the company sales associate and lack of a customer service representative that lacked skills and empathy for someone who spent a large amount of money at your store.

I have shopped at Ethan Allen and spent thousands of dollars. Recently, I purchased a round leather ottoman from Ethan Allen in Jacksonville, Florida. The ottoman was delivered and it appeared to be smaller than what I thought it would be. I took a tape measure out and the ottoman was indeed not a 27 inch ottoman that I ordered, but rather 26 inches. It was also 16 inches in height rather than 18" as the specs indicated it would be. I called my design consultant and he told me there was nothing the design manager would do. I tried to reach out to the design manager and she doesn't care and has not returned my call. I also called the home office in Danbury, CT and no response. This was a custom piece and that should have been made to specs. Ethan Allen likes to take your money and basically give you the middle finger. It is so ridiculous. I will never step foot in another Ethan Allen store again.

BE WARNED, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NONEXISTENT WITH THIS COMPANY - YOU WILL LOSE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MONEY!!! We received a sofa with a small tear that went unnoticed for a couple of days. We immediately notified our design consultant and took pictures as the sofa pillows were hiding the tear. Customer Service sent a technician 3 weeks later and the technician determined it could not be fixed. The issue got escalated to the District Manager, Crystal ** and she was not helpful at all... She didn't provide any options, her attitude was "Oh well, you signed for it at delivery", very condescending, not remorseful of the experience at all.

This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had with customer service. Ethan Allen does not try to resolve any issues. They blame the customers and only want your money. Now they want me to pay a 30% restocking fee for their mistake! They only want to accept one of the sofas -- why in the world would I have 2 non matching sofas in my home -- Craziest Customer Service Ever!! I have to pay $1800 to return furniture. Do not trust Ethan Allen with your money. I will never buy from them again!!!

Poor customer service (Knoxville TN). Ethan Allen charges extremely high prices and the product are of China quality. The delivery service guys come to your house and get in a cuss fight in the driveway. Then they damage the products getting them in after they scheduled an delivery appointment between one and five then show up 15-20 minutes late. Then rush to get the product in the door and damage the unit. Then Ethan Allen calls to say they will not bring you good product, they will need to come and repair the damaged item on your time and on their schedule. BUYER BEWARE. Their little repair policy is printed on the back of the paper you sign. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. It used to be a good company but has gone to CHINA!

I saw a beautiful bedroom set but before I purchased it I wanted to make sure it would fit in my new home. I gave my floor plan to the designer and she showed me how the furniture I had picked would fit in the room perfectly. When the furniture was delivered it did not fit the room as per her drawings. The bed which fit perfectly in the wall on her drawing was now sticking out and covering part of the window. I told them this was not what I had ordered and agreed to but they would not budge and wanted a 30% restocking fee to take the furniture back.

Also I ordered a Silver sunburst mirror (per the order form) for my wall. When I received the mirror it was gold. They insisted this was a silver mirror and would not take it back. I sent them pictures of it which definitely show that it is a gold mirror. This is false advertising. Again they refused to take this mirror back and wanted a 30% restocking fee. I will never buy anything from this company again. What terrible customer service.

For 30 years I have been going to the same Ethan Allen in Paoli then they moved to King of Prussia PA. I have furnished three houses and two condos. And I had four different designers during that time. I have to say I was never disappointed. They even lent me a large table since mine was not due to come in yet and it was thanksgiving. I've had small issues over the years that were quickly fixed. I cannot say enough good things. My entire home is filled with Ethan Allan. It never wears out. You have to give it away if you want new.

I purchased a chest from EA and after waiting 8 weeks it was delivered damaged. The customer service was very poor. They sent out a technician to determine if it could be repaired. He determined it could not. We asked that it be replaced and EA refused stating that they would come and pick it up and replace the top and sand down the side and refinish it. We did not pay for a "second" and are not at all satisfied with this response from EA. They have no interest in maintaining satisfied customers that would endorse their products, only in making the sale. I would recommend that you run, not walk, to the nearest furniture store not bearing the Ethan Allen name.

Caution Ethan Allen (EA) customers. You should be aware of EA business practices are not customer oriented. Put a few items on order a few weeks ago. Then get an unsolicited email from EA that the items have been further discounted. EA refused to commit to the price reduction even though no items have actually been delivered. Find it insulting that they send out a promotion that they refuse to honor. Other things to be aware if you buy from EA besides there is no thirty day price protection guarantee that most businesses provide customers. Many of their products are not American made but are premium priced. My items are being made in China, Honduras and Philippines.

There always seems to be a 15% off “sale” which means they mark up 15% so with the so-called discount you're actually paying retail. Advise taking a lawyer with you when to sign a purchase order. I should have had a heads up that this company has had customer relation problems when required to sign/initial your name in about ten places on a multipage contract. Terms and conditions protect EAs interest not customers. Now one of my biggest concerns after reading other customer postings is follow up service after delivery. High prices for foreign made goods (read other customers postings), and negative customer experience business practices may not be a long-term winning business strategy. No wonder EA YTD stock is down 19%.

So I bought some ugly furniture from here and it broke so honey if you are reading this you do not need to buy stuff here and if you have any animals then do not get it from here cause if you do it will rip in half if they even get on it. And Ethan Allen is the ugliest, nastiest name ever and you people can suck my **. I keep buying and buying just so it can get tore up. Well news flash sweetie I am NOT BUYING NO MORE and if I was you I would either.

They have bed bugs and roaches all over the place. Its horrible there and my baby girl is allergic to the stuff they put on them and ended up in the hospital for a week and I got a chair brought to my house and well the moving guys ripped it getting it out of the truck. And they would not give me my money back for none of this so WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. They need to be put out of business and no longer sell stuff. That is what I think. Thank you for reading my review and taking in consideration to all this.

We purchased some furniture for our new home. The closing was delayed and we kept telling their customer service that we weren't ready to receive the table and chairs. We were never told that we would have to pay a storage fee? Unfortunately the move to the new home never transpired. We were not able to move. We had no problems cancelling the furniture with any of the other companies. They were extremely understanding with our personal situation.

When we called Ethan Allen in November I explained That we had to cancel the order. The seats on all of the chairs were considered "custom" as we selected one of their upgraded fabrics. The table we selected was a stock item and still advertised in their catalogue. We had given them a $3300. Deposit. We were willing to forfeit the deposit, less the deposit for the table. Ethan Allen stated they sent me a certified letter regarding storage fees and that I would have to pay for the entire order (we had given them a third), $9714.53. We never received a certified letter from them! We never took receipt of any of their merchandise. All we want to do is cancel the order and not have to pay any charged for storage or the balance of the order. We also wanted credit for the deposit we placed on a stock table. They have been ruthless, threatening and dishonest. I have never had an experience like this before.

I purchased furniture for my living room in September 2016 from the Winston-Salem, NC store. I ordered two leather sofas that were delivered right before Thanksgiving. I loved the overall design and look at first, but noticed the leather fading on one of the sofas within 3 months of delivery. My designer asked that I send pictures of the defect to corporate and was very apologetic. Since contacting corporate, I was asked to send a sample of the leather and told it may not be replaced! Feel like company is not going to standing behind their warranty.

Ordered a dining room set in November of 2016. Told them at the time we were moving and gave them our new address. After four months of waiting for delivery, they said some of the pieces were damaged. Have never dealt with a more incompetent or unprofessional company in my life. We cancelled the order and went elsewhere for furniture. Will never shop at Ethan Allen Furniture again. Buyer beware. Also noticed they are not a member of the Better Business Bureau or Consumer Affairs.

We purchased over $15,000 of new furniture from the EA gallery in Annapolis MD. Our design and furniture is beautiful, however, our designer, Natalie **, after making an error with a balance took it upon herself to charge my credit card without my knowledge. She had remained in constant contact about coming out to our home to see our new purchases to offer accent and lighting ideas, yet never contacted me to about a charge to my credit card of her error. Four days had passed when I had noticed the charge and questioned it. I spoke with the store manager and the credit card company, who encouraged me to place a fraudulent claim. I choose to accept her apology and resolved to not associate with this sales person.

My mistake... On Saturday, 2/25/2017, the final piece from our order arrived, a lovely rug. It took the delivery guys (Scott ** and partner) less than 10 min. to drop it off, as my husband had moved all the new furniture, and the rug was ready to be rolled out. We tipped them and thanked them. Prior to them leaving we remembered they were the two who delivered the bulk of our furniture earlier and had been generously tipped, they both remembered us. Sadly, my husband's wallet left with them. A police report was filed. We have visual confirmation it was them. We will place criminal charges. Not planning on ever doing business with Ethan Allen again... Fool me once, my bad, Fool me twice... criminal charges.

Good news is my husband and I recently purchased our first EA sectional sofa (special order) and leather recliner on Jan 27th. We worked with a wonderful designer (Brandon) in the EA Annapolis and he was excellent. Love him! I would give him 6 STARS for his design acumen and outstanding customer service. He is very responsive even on his day off. :-)

Bad news is it's taking five weeks just to deliver the recliner. The recliner was a store display and was 50% marked down and we paid $1,500+ and delivery charge. Beautiful black leather with nail heads FYI... Store pick up occurs every other Thursday in Annapolis location so pick up did not occur until 2 weeks later (Feb 9th). We were supposed to get a phone call to schedule delivery from their Service Center the week of Feb 13th but did not get one phone call. Brandon followed up and sent them notifications to call us for schedule but no luck. So we went ahead and called the Service Center ourselves (Feb 17th) and got voicemail after multiple calls. Although I missed one call (on Feb 17th) and they left me a message and I called back but no answer.

We called again today (Feb 20th) and success! Someone picked up and we are scheduled for delivery on March 3rd! So it will take five weeks from the day we paid the recliner before it's delivered. Disappointing! We could have just put it in the back our SUV and saved delivery fee. :-) Seriously, EA needs strive to do a better job with their delivery service. Good customer service does not end until the product is received promptly by the customer.

My husband and I have collected EA furnitures for over 25 years. I am biased with this brand. EA is synonymous to quality (although expensive) as far as we are concerned. Our bedroom and dining set are in great condition and purchased them in 1990-1991 after moving from multiple military duty assignments. We purchased end tables, coffee table, and buffet from the Annapolis location about 10 years ago after moving back to US and continue to be satisfied with the quality and craftsmanship of their product.

Read the recent negative reviews on EA and it makes me worried. I have yet to determine if indeed EA is not the same 25 years ago as claimed by other EA customers. Since it's our first time buying a special order EA sectional couch, ottoman, and the recliner, only time will tell if EA continues to be synonymous with quality. The special order couch and ottoman will not be ready until mid to late March. I hope I will have a better delivery experience this time. I'm being optimistic.

I had bought over 60k worth of furniture from Ethan Allen. The designer was useless, but I would like to comment on the customer service. There is a young lady named Marissa that helped schedule all of my deliveries. She helped me go over each and every thing I bought, each and every dollar amount I spent, and how much I had left to pay after delivery. She was very sweet, and warmhearted, and was never annoyed with my million questions. You may have to leave a voicemail with her, but she gets back to you within that same day or the next. Very productive and fast. She is easy to talk to, as if you are talking to your granddaughter.

I even offered to have her over for lunch! I see all the other reviews are not welcoming, but they did not have Marissa! When the delivery team came to my home, they were so nice and polite. Stayed at my home for over 2 hours helping me arrange my furniture. Very sweet boys. I tried to tip them and they refused! Saying it was unnecessary and that it was a pleasure hanging out with me. I will ALWAYS buy from Ethan Allen and as long as Marissa is there to schedule, and the young men are there to deliver!

We made a modest purchase of two leather chairs and a silk rug, around $6k worth of stuff. No lie, the time from when we said yes, to the time they gave us the final paperwork to leave the NYC branch was 1 hour and 15 minutes. Yes. 1 hour and 15 minutes. The salesperson was nice and kind and appreciative of our patience. But I have to believe most folks would have thrown up their hands sooner and walked out. Be warned.

I bought a silver accent table and a vase from Ethan Allen. Needless to say that the quality is amazing. They first sent me a damaged table which I returned with no issues. They placed an order for a new one and waived the shipping cost without my asking them to do so. Great company and service.

Ethan Allen is not the same high-end store it once was about 25 years ago. I recently purchased 4 dining chairs which have been a total loss to me. I emailed a picture to my designer of my current dining room table and told her I wanted to get new chairs to match it. The color of my table is mahogany. When I received the new chairs they are black. Ethan Allen refuses to exchange them. They said the color is within 'value". Lol. They completely ruined my Xmas this year. Not to mention losing the money I lost. Do not shop at Ethan Allen.

I hate to admit that my husband was correct in telling me to stay away from Ethan Allen, but he was totally correct. A large area rug that I paid top dollar for has faded horribly, despite the fact that it's in a room that's not sunny AND all the windows are covered with custom Ethan Allen treatments. I'm sick that I have to toss this rug. What a waste of money. My mother was loyal to Ethan Allen. The quality now is AWFUL!!!

I searched high and low for a new sofa. I've had many sofas, my last being from Mitchell Gold which I was very happy with and still own. I was excited to work with Ethan Allen as I thought I would be getting a fantastic new sofa. Nothing could be further from the truth. My experience since the delivery of my brand new sofa has been a nightmare.

The new sofa arrived with several stains which they say came from the delivery truck. I guess this is the same delivery truck they tout as "white glove delivery" and that I paid extra for on top of my $4,000 sofa. All the stains could be removed but one which their repair man spent an hour trying to remove. It is on the front panel of the sofa. Ethan Allen's fix - to run another dye lot of my fabric, rip off the front section and place on a new front panel. Now I did not pay that kind of money for a damaged and repaired sofa. Dye lots vary between 10-15% color-wise every time they are run so now they are trying to push off to me a pieced-together sofa.

I spent a weekend going around to furniture stores in the DFW area (Crate & Barrel, Ralph Lauren Home, Mitchell Gold, Pottery Barn) asking about how they would handle this situation. To a furniture store they said: "well if we tried to get out the stain and we couldn't, we would tell you to keep the couch until we could deliver you a new one." Beware furniture shoppers: if you expect a company to stand by their product DO NOT SHOP AT ETHAN ALLEN!!! I will update this if anything changes but I am using every means I have necessary from Facebook, Twitter and my membership in the Junior League to warn everyone NOT to shop at Ethan Allen. I will update this if anything changes.

We've been (had been, I must say now) customers of Ethan Allen for couple of decades, and had always enjoyed everything purchased there. The design and quality was always evident, hence we didn't mind the prices. However, after a long gap in buying furniture (we were still buying little things, accessories, paintings, mirrors, etc.), we've ordered custom set of sofa + chair. Waiting 2 months was not a problem, however, we were a bit nervous after reading all the current reviews about how E.A. is not the same anymore, etc. Unfortunately, we have to confirm that it's 100% true, and in fact, Ethan Allen is NOT what it used to be, quality wise.

They did, however, fool us by showing "similar" display items, based on which we've made our order, however, what we received wasn't nearly as good. The chair is practically useless, impossible to seat on, bulging bottom pillow with 100 psi pressure assures it. The sofa actually had a thin steel nail nicely poking on a side of arm rest, so my wife cut her leg pretty bad on the first day she just passed by it too close. Took me some effort to go around all seams, and pull all such nails out (I found a couple, btw). This "craftsmanship" is good for somebody's basement work, but company with reputation should definitely do better, especially considering the price levels, and number of other choices consumers have nowadays. I'm definitely not coming back to them, regardless, I'd rather shop in Home Depot.

My husband and I had the great displeasure of working with a sales associate at Ethan Allen named Margot, who I now call "Not working with a full deck Margot," because she is either a pathological liar or a delusional crazy person who sees the world in a different, alternate way that's clearly not reality. I strongly believe she is the former, a pathological liar who is only interested in making herself look good, even if that means telling two sets of lies, one to me and another to her manager. The worst of it is that after speaking with her Manager, who tells me yet another one of her lies, the Manager says that "Margot is currently having personal problems."

No, I think "Not working with a full deck Margot" has issues, not personal problems, that probably won't get resolved until she seeks serious professional help which would probably start with her admitting to herself that she is a ** artist who can't remember how to tell the truth. This is sad, because we're talking about a 65 year old lady who is acting like a lying 16 year old about why she wasn't in class. Personal problems should never be an excuse for lying sales associates.

What's infuriating about my ordeal with Ethan Allen is that they feel that it's ok that their salespeople are unethical, lying sociopaths that are apathetic to their customer's needs. I'm sure "Not working with a full deck Margot" got a promotion after this... because after all, she still made a big sale! In short "Not working with a full deck Margot" made a mistake, I called her out on it, she put it on me (not her fault), then I had evidence to show that she made a mistake, she apologized, said that she ordered the new product, never heard back from her until I called the store directly, then she said that she ordered the new product.

Then she proceeded to tell me about a scheme of how she ordered the new product so that we just have to pay her directly for it rather than through Ethan Allen which will save us money (I then came to the conclusion that I was working with a back alley furniture dealer, and unfortunately "Not working with a full deck Margot" was our handler).

Finally I spoke to the store manager, who looked into the order and said that the product was never ordered, and that it would take an additional 6-8 weeks (we are now in September and we originally ordered the product in June). After the Manager's half heartfelt sorry, was when I got upset (you can see I have a lot of patience), and canceled the order and said if she wanted the product that was incorrectly ordered she could come to my house to pick it up, which she did, and said again "sorry" and that "Not working with a full deck Margot" "forgot" to order it. Not surprised, another lie from "Not working with a full deck..."

I was polite and nice and just said that you have a "deceptive, lying" employee working for you. She wanted to let me know that this is not how Ethan Allen does business. Unfortunately, it is exactly how Ethan Allen does business, because a business is only as good as their employees. Her lack of ethics, transparency, and honesty directly reflect on Ethan Allen. Bottom line - Ethan Allen does not care about their customers. As my family continues to grow, we look forward to buying more furniture. Needless to say, Ethan Allen will not be in our purview.

I had the worst services you could imagine having at a wedding. Their staff was very rude to me and my guest. They rushed and harassed us to hurry up and get to the ballroom when my family and I were taking our pictures. They served us our food an hour later than the schedule time and then started throwing away the food before we could even finish, saying that they had to go home. I had a really big beautiful cake that they didn't even serve to my guest instead they toss the WHOLE cake in the garbage. I paid for a 10 hour cocktail and they didn't even serve the whole 10 hours. They were rejecting my guest drinks.

After everything was done and over I went to the Hotel suite and realized they switched my room without even notifying me, claiming that they had a bigger room for me then a security guard came to the room saying he got a call that my room was having a party, which we weren't. There was only three people in my room including me. And when I went to the front desk to make a complaint the worker guy was being very disrespectful towards me so I just left and went home.

We purchased 2 Grayson chairs from Ethan Allen. They arrived with about 60 small dents on the wood on 1 chair and about 25 small dents on the 2nd chair, making the chair quality look 2nd hand. Ethan Allen sent an "expert" out to inspect the chairs and he informed us "ignorant wood finishing customers" that the chairs were in fact "distressed wood" and the dents were NOT a sign of damage. But, We NEVER ordered "distressed wood finish" furniture. On their website and in their show room the wood is sold as "exposed wood" finish. He said he could "REPAIR" the dents for us and so we would have "REPAIRED DISTRESSED WOOD FINISHED CHAIRS"! AT FULL PRICE!!! $1,500 EACH!

But, surely if the chairs were in their "normal distressed wood state" then what exactly is he "repairing"... The "expert" couldn't answer this but he could explain what distressed wood is to us in detail. Yet, In his explanation of distressed wood it didn't explain how these specific DENTS (enclosed photo) happened. Waiting on Ethan Allen's response... Meanwhile would love to hear any similar experience on distressed wood finish vs. damaged wood please...

Abuse of power and lack of basic integrity. Probably one of the worst experience with any furniture store I've ever had. Management is unreliable, pushing pushing pushing for results. Has no customers so asking their designers to "Convince any way possible" to purchase their furniture. Even it is clear the customer already purchase what is necessary they will keep on pushing you to buy more. Total Ripoff.

Thirty years ago, I bought a sofa and a love seat from Ethan Allen and had that furniture for 25 years. I was very satisfied but when moving to a small condo needed smaller furniture. I worked with a designer who helped me find a very nice striped sofa and a plain colored love seat. I said I needed a rug and she helped me design an area rug to coordinate with the furniture. Two months later when the rug came, I thought it had a rose-colored hue that clashed with the red in the sofa (it was supposed to be khaki).

Two friends who are artists came to visit and each exclaimed, "Why did you get a pink rug?" I called the designer who, after looking at the rug, said that the rug was all wrong. For 4 months, I tried to get a new rug or my money back. I got nowhere. Finally, I accepted 50% (the district manager said he was "doing me a big favor" giving me that). I used the money to buy a wedding present vowing never to buy a thing from them again. Now I'm looking for chairs. Looking everywhere but Ethan Allen.

I have been a loyal customer for years and have spent over $100k. I have purchased 6 sofas and the last is just horrible. From day one, the fabric started getting weird marks then the fabric started stretching on the cushions so the edging is moving down cushion. This is a summer beach house with weekend use. No little kids and not main sofa and it looks like a 10 year old sofa. My designer left and now I'm dealing with the store manager Ed ** and he's been useless in getting this resolved. I just want my money back! Beware. I was once very loyal. Not no more! I will update if this gets resolved to my satisfaction.

Bought an incliner couch from Ethan Allan. Thought they were a top notch company. NO! They aren't. Can't sit in the couch without a headache. Top of couch pushes our heads forward. Company says we need to break it in. How do you break something in if it's so HARD you can't sit in it? The seat sits at a 20 percent declining angle before you even sit down. Then you sink into it with your neck being thrust forward. I kid you not. When you get up from the couch the back cushion is shoved down under the back cushion so that the bottom cushion pops up 4 inches every time you get off. They sent an independent "furniture expert" to look at it and he "apparently" told them nothing was wrong. Hmmm....paid by company, guess he knows where his bread is buttered. I'm 64 years old and thought we deserve a good quality sofa. I'm going back to Macy's. Meanwhile, the $5000 couch is sitting in my garage.

Poorly made. A leg fell off dresser, it had almost nothing holding it on. Turned it over, fixed it myself and I'm a woman - It wasn't easy. OMG They said it was my fault! Took over a yr to get a bedspread, it was wrong 3 times. They said I bought a new bed. Ordered shades, when it was time to get them took old ones down... They didnt show. When they did come - WRONG SIZE! I had sheets at my window for 6 months. The bedspread was so heavy I gave it away after 3 months. The shades started falling apart after only 6 months. I have no kids, just me. Wanted to send everything back. They were going charge me 20% anyway. WHAT?? The designer said she used to own her own business (used to) should have listened to that. I'll never go there again. Rude people. No wonder so many stores have closed. Poor quality rude people.

I ordered several pieces of furniture in early April 2016 at the Ethan Allen Jamestown Manor store in Pasadena, CA. I put 50% down and assumed that I would pay the balance at the time of delivery. Today they called me to let me know that my items are ready for delivery, but first I must settle the balance before they call the delivery company. Further, the delivery company schedules the appointment.

I have purchased furniture from Ethan Allen for years, and in several different states. I have never had to pay before delivery. I told them that I never pay any company in advance. I argued with the store manager. I've decided to pay and hope that the delivery goes well, and that the furniture is in good shape. So they win this one; however, I will never do business with them again, and I feel great satisfaction that I can write this review and share it with so many people--so thankful for social media!

I bought some couch in 12/2015 as well as curtains. Once the couch was delivered, there was several defects and it took almost 10 weeks for their customer service to correct it. Now, we hang the curtains and they are 8 inches too short! Went back to the store and they told me there is nothing they can do!! The customer is never right with this company, no matter what. I have now spent countless hours trying to resolve this issue. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT SHOP here!

Buyer Beware - Ethan Allen now manufactures furniture in Mexico though they represent their furniture is made in the United States as American made. I have been a shopper with Ethan Allen for over 25 years because their furniture is advertised & represented as American made, being made in United States factories. I worked with an E.A. sales associate for the past year in Melbourne (Viera) Florida store and have told this sales associate on multiple occasions that I ONLY buy furniture manufactured in the USA & made in an American (United States) factory. She has always assured me on each & every occasion that my ordered furniture was made in the United States.

I now discover I was deceived & lied to as my recent couch purchase has a consumer origin label that it was manufactured in Mexico. I also discovered chairs purchased last year also have consumer origin labels of manufacture in Mexico. The company appears to want to make a higher profit on their furniture by deceiving the public by now making furniture in Mexico but implying they manufacture only in their United States factories. Ethan Allen cannot be trusted & is deceptive in their consumer business practices.

From the moment I walked in the door I sensed a commission quarrel among the salespersons. I had previously ordered a dining room set for $6500 that kept being put on backorder for several months to the point that I canceled and was able to get a refund. Only then did I check reviews. Until that time I had the impression that Ethan Allen was the company it was 25 years ago. It's NOT. More recently, because my decorator selected it, I went into the store to order some grasscloth. Another fight over whose customer I was ensued. The product appeared to be overpriced by about 400% for Lowe's quality. Until my memory fails, I intend to never go back. Poor service, quality, attitude, value, leadership - need I say more?

We purchased a Lynn sofa in Feb 2015 which was delivered in May 2015. By November 2015 both of the back cushions and pillows had shed so many feathers that the cushions appeared to be deflated and bi-weekly vacuuming was required to keep the room feather free. The store said the cushions were down - they are not down they are feathers. The bottom cushions had no structure either and no longer appeared like the store model. The Ethan Allen store referred our complaint to "customer service" which resulted in a visit to our home to proclaim the sofa was acting as it was supposed to (killed time).

Then, the salesperson brought out the cushions from the store which were not shedding feathers and the seat cushions were 3 inches thicker than the cushions that were delivered with the sofa. DO NOT purchase the Lynn sofa. Ethan Allen is NO LONGER providing high quality upholstered products. The last sofa we purchased was 17 years old when we retired it. I can hardly wait to get rid of this horrible uncomfortable Lynn sofa.

We bought a bed, chair and 2 chandeliers. The sales rep, June, was extremely helpful. We painted the walls and ceiling in our bedroom based on her recommendations and it looks amazing. The chandeliers have been late. The first one needs to be re-ordered because one of the lights is not working. They send a technician to look at it and said they would pay for a electrician to take the first one down and hang the new one. The second light arrived today and have not hung it yet. June has been very responsive and keeping informed of our delivery. Ethan Allen has been so much better to work with than the other major furniture companies we are currently working with (Arhaus and Pottery Barn).

I have been interacting with Ethan Allen since late last summer. I ordered a cabinet for my foyer and a designer came to my home to see my home and draw up a plan for my foyer and living room. It involved a $20,000 expenditure to get started. I liked her choices, but decided to take things slow since I'd not done business with them before. I ordered a couple of rugs, the foyer chest, artwork, and large metal sconces for the wall. With the exception of one of the smaller pictures, I had complications on different levels on all that I ordered. The store manager told me that Ethan Allen can't control their manufacturers or suppliers in spite of their claims to superior quality. All that has been said in these negative reviews has been my experience also. The worst is the disdainful and disrespectful treatment.

I purchased a $3500 motorized leather recliner March 2015. By November 2015 the motor had stopped working. The customer service department was very bias but did refer it to the repair department. Suffice it to say I am still waiting for my $3500 chair to actually recline. It had been 3 months... the replacement part arrived in 1 week. I only called once to express concern and was told "you must be very dependent on that chair". Omg yes I am. I had shoulder surgery and needs to sleep sitting up. This was the reason for the purchase. I also purchased an $1100 ottoman and a $5000 sofa. When the sofa was delivered they were not smart enough to remove the legs until it was stuck in the door frame. By that time the woodwork had been chipped all the way up the stairs. Please don't buy their overpriced furniture. The extra they claim to do for the customer does not exist.

In September 2015, I ordered two Connor Leather Recliners. The chairs were delivered without the ability to recline. They took them back to fix them and redelivered the chairs without the ability to recline. The delivery people tried to convince me that if you jump on the chair in just the right spot it would recline. I waited several weeks, then Ethan Allen sent someone to the house to try and fix them for a third time. The repair person was unable. I waited several more weeks, while the people at the store sat on their hands, and insisted on some resolve. They decided to reorder the chairs. Well guess what, the new chairs came in with the exact same problems. They don't recline.

Ethan Allen called me and told me that I can get my money back or order something else. I told them that I just wanted what I ordered and I wanted it to actually recline as it should. It's now February 2016 and I'm still waiting on two reclining Connor Chairs. Meanwhile I have the original two broken recliners in my house and I'm paying on chairs that don't work.

We bought a large wooden dining room table, 6 chairs, and a breakfront. I don't have the receipt, but it was expensive around 7 grand. Our old Ethan Allen table -one we had for 40 years we gave to our son. It was in great condition. So went returned to Ethan Allen to buy our new set. 1 1/2 years later the color around the ledge is fading and Ethan Allen is disavowing any responsibility to help us fix it. Very, very disgusted with Ethan Allen's attitude in helping dedicated (no more) customers.

Exceptionally disappointed and will never shop again. Ordered a bed for my son in early September at the Somerville, NJ Ethan Allen with a delivery date mid December. Received a call end of November and was told the color was no longer being produced. Went to the store and discussed with our sales representative Chris. Was told the bed was already manufactured and only needed to be painted. Started calling after Christmas and was strung along for weeks. Involved the store manager Penny in the issue.

As of today 1/26, they are still unable to provide any guidance on when the bed would be made and have no estimation of delivery. Was told the bed was re-ordered in December. It is understandable that delays happen, that quickly becomes unacceptable when being misled and not being treated as a customer. Time for Ethan Allen to start providing customer service. Last time they will have me as one.

With a new home, I had purchased some new pieces. Having waited to afford and purchase better quality furniture, I was and have been very happy with all aspects of my purchases. The designer spent plenty of time with me, including coming to my home to measure and to make recommendations. She was very helpful and knew her field as have the other designers in the 3 Ethan Allen stores that I have visited. The quality furniture Ethan Allen offers is of higher quality, and therefore, is more expensive than many of the local furniture stores. I gather that many of the complaints here are not aware that this furniture is crafted from real wood: a rarity these days, and also that much at Ethan Allen is purchased custom-made.

I'm not sure why anyone would complain about this store. I have nothing but good to say about the store in general, but then again, I know what to expect going in. I visited this store with my mother within the past 30 years, as she purchased furniture and design pieces for our then family home over the years. As a girl and young woman, I always enjoyed those visits, and the chance to view these fantastic showrooms. I am only sorry to see Ethan Allen move away from traditional furniture that is timeless, beautiful, and lasts lifetimes if treated properly and move toward the trendy stuff that every other store has. With hope, classic styled furniture, in good taste and excellent quality, will stay at Ethan Allen.

Purchased over $16,000 at Ethan Allen. We rearranged the furniture in our family and prior to that the sofa was seldom used by wife or I. No children, no pets. After 2 years of use the inner foam cushions were soft and nonsupportive either to our back or seat. Called customer service informed them of our experience and were told we are no longer covered under warranty and basically on our own. She provided the company that does the repair work for Ethan Allen. We called, ordered the cushions, and paid for the labor to install. Our out of pocket cost $650 for sofa and chair. Upon removing the inner cushions they were no better than a sponge. Poor quality.

Wrote a letter to CEO with sample of foam cushion, invoice and cancelled check asking for some sort of compensation for the inferior foam product. I left that open hoping this so called reputable company would do what is right. Not asking for full compensation but reasonable compensation. The reply was a fat zero. They would not reimburse a nickel.

A week or so later I get an e-mail informing me they have reversed their decision and would order the foam cushions etc. So they decline to help, inform me of a company to get the problem fixed, offer no compensation then offer to replace the foam cushions after my letter/e-mail informing them I have already done the work as you would not provide any support. So once again asking them to provide some compensation considering they were willing to send foam cushions why not then reasonable compensation. The answer was NO. Do you think these people are messed up... Big time. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Disgraceful company. Never again. They should take this act on the road. If one does not take care of the customer someone else will.

I just received my Ethan Allen sofa and was shocked. I have ordered living room sofas over the years from Thomasville, Macy's, Drexel, Ashley, and yes Rooms to Go. Never ever have I had to call and have a upholstery repairman come to my home and make repairs on a sofa. The quality is so shoddy. The base is so wrinkled, as are all the cushions, and there are bumps and lumps under the fabric. I understand they now are manufacturing in Mexico. I truly don't know where this sofa was made but it should never have left the factory. QA what were you thinking. The repair will be on Monday. I don't know how he can fix it.

I recently purchased about 16K worth of furniture from my local Ethan Allen in upstate NY. I went there at the behest of my interior decorator. We worked with an Ethan Allen "designer" to select an oriental carpet and an ensemble of furniture for a large lodge style family room. Throughout the process the EA "designer" was consistently very pushy to close the sale prior to the end of the month. Additionally, she was continually trying to cut my interior decorator out of the deal. At one point, behind my decorator's back, she said "** her." The EA designer presented me with some fabric choices for a chair that she led me to believe had been reviewed and approved by my decorator. Having complete faith and trust in my decorator I agreed to one of the selections. I later received an email from my decorator telling me that she did not agree with, and could not endorse that choice as "her work product". She was quite upset.

Clearly the EA designer had misled me. That chair is now in the process of being re-covered with a different fabric at my expense. Ethan Allen requires payment in full before a delivery will be scheduled. I wanted to pay via check instead of credit card. The person that called me to arrange final payment schedule delivery snottily informed me that it would be 10 days before the check would clear their bank. I was skeptical but I said "ok, I would wait." On delivery day two people who barely spoke English showed up. They were rude and hurried, and generally obnoxious. They put a gash in my back door, they dented my hardwood stairs, they scratched my new leather sofa and the leather chair. They couldn't have cared less. I sent a blunt, but objective email to the EA sales person / "designer" and expressed my dissatisfaction. I informed her that I felt taken advantage of and that I wouldn't be coming back to Ethan Allen any time soon.

The regional manager contacted my decorator and said that my email bordered on "harassment", that it was her (my decorator's) fault for stirring the pot and that I wouldn't have been dissatisfied if she (my decorator) hadn't commented. That was a significant insult to me considering that (unbeknownst to Ethan Allen) I have a five degree in a different design discipline than interiors. I have purchased in excess of $100,000.00 worth of Furniture from Stickley / Audi Co... Their policy is to deliver the furniture, make sure that the customer is completely satisfied and THEN settle the account. I've never been disappointed with them. I have a lot of Stickley and I was looking for something different so I agreed to try Ethan Allen. In my view, Stickley is a far better choice for home furnishings. Ethan Allen is best to be avoided.

This was my first and will be my last experience with Ethan Allen Furniture. The Ethan Allen business model is outdated and is not congruent with my needs. I was appalled to find when I ordered my rug that on top of what I considered to be an inflated price I also had to pay for shipping and delivery. Against my better judgement I bought the rug at a sale price and paid for the shipping, believing I was paying extra for a high quality premium product. I was wrong. On top of having to wait for nearly two months for the rug, I found that the quality was no better than what I can get at my local Pottery Barn. I could have bought a similar product locally, had it delivered to the store and picked it up the following week. Needless to say I will not make the same mistake again and will steer clear of this company in the future.

I have in the past spent over $30,000 in furniture over approx. 3 years - all in the Lancaster, PA Ethan Allen store. I have had two mediocre designers and one fantastic one - unfortunately she moved to the South Carolina store. I just tried to purchase several pictures, and it was amazing! They have no interest in customer satisfaction, extremely poor communication. The "designer" never even bothered to call me back. The story as to why is too convoluted to try to re-tell.

I am not at all surprised that their customer service scores are so low - I actually think giving them one star is being overly generous. Shame on management for allowing this company to continue to perform so poorly.

I purchased a new home and decided that I would use Ethan Allen (not a new experience). I placed an initial order in October when we made an offer on a new house. Knowing the timeline of 6-10 weeks, I thought it would arrive after the close of escrow. Instead of waiting for the first order to arrive, I placed two more orders in November. I guess I should follow-up in the Spring of 2016 on those. This is now January 2016. I still haven't received my items and they've been holding onto my deposit for all of these months. The only thing I get are excuses... (i.e., the material was out of stock, we're just waiting on the pillows, it's in transit, but it probably won't arrive until the end of November.... then it was mid December, then after the holidays).

I had no idea that I had to wait this long, otherwise I would have gone with another company. I can't cancel (according to their documents) at this stage unless I want to forfeit multiple thousands of dollars. It doesn't seem right that they can hold a customers money, and not deliver the products as promised. I've been in my new home for a little over a month and still the items from Ethan Allen are MIA. I've called the designer and left several messages, but she hasn't called back. FRUSTRATION is an understatement.

I have read the many horror stories regarding EA on this site. I will tell you I have had nothing but great experiences with them on multiple sales. I have purchased 2 sofas, 3 chairs, 1 loveseat, 1 coffee table, 1 end table and 2 lamps. Design help was great and they did come to the home. Furniture was as promised in time window. Delivery was smooth. I felt comfortable with all and didn't get the feeling of arrogance either. Price... not much more than Macys and much better quality. I do recommend strongly.

I needed furniture and decoration for both my dining room and living room and knew Ethan Allen offered interior design services at no cost, so I called the nearest store in the hope of discovering how to proceed with such services. When I explained my situation to the lady who answered the phone and asked how to proceed, she informed me, "Well, you have to...you know...actually come INTO the store," [with a more than significant tone of disdain in her voice] implying I wasn't aware of this obvious starting point. Then she stated, "well...you know..you actually have to actually BUY our products..." [with an even harsher tone] implying I wasn't planning on doing so. Guess what? I absolutely 100% vehemently plan to NEVER do now... That's right, Ethan Allen, I will take my 5 digit budget elsewhere.

This is my first time purchasing from Ethan Allen - and my last. I believed I was paying a premium for quality and service. But late delivery, our salesperson hanging up on us, and response they can't control delivery - not the service I was expecting. I hesitated in making the initial purchase - but made the decision to buy based upon the advertised 8-10 weeks and promise of delivery before Christmas. I am sorry I did. At the store level, a customer assistant - not our salesperson - is doing their best - but apparently with no support from management. There is no apparent effort/option to expedite without my persistence - just whatever is their standard routing and scheduling. "Standard" I can purchase anywhere; never again at Ethan Allen prices.

I used to be a very loyal Ethan Allen customer, but their product quality and service has deteriorated to the point I won't spend another dime with them. The last item I purchased was a leather sofa. Their later brochure touts, "Ethan Allen leather gets more beautiful with time." In reality, I'm pretty certain the "leather" sofa I purchased isn't even leather. It has a flaky, wrinkly look to it, and when scratched, a white plasticy material shows through the "leather." (It is unlike any other leather I own or have experienced.) It looks and feels like plastic. Customer service was unresponsive unless consistently contacted and after weeks or proving, finally stated that there wasn't an issue with the leather. Their quality, and service, has deteriorated and they don't stand behind their products. I shopped at Ethan Allen because I wanted a quality product. What I got was junk.

My husband and I turned to Ethan Allen to buy leather sectional based on what our parents always thought of the company. Well, buyer beware. In Spring 2014 our "leather" sectional was delivered. Recently, 11/2015, a cup of water sat on its side and dried onto the leather. When the cup was picked up, a thin top coating came off and the area bubbled and peeled and all color and texture disappeared.

When we called about it, first they couldn't find record of our purchase until I found the receipt and told them the order number. They then said it was out of warranty. So I took my cushion to the store! Two employees are recorded on tape saying that the sofa sold to me is top grain leather. The sample in the store is a beautiful top grain leather. What sits in my family room I am not sure but I do know it is not top grain leather. Top grain leather does not peel and lose its color and texture. In front of the store manager, I attempted to ruin the sample in the store and it's virtually impossible but, I can peel my sofa!!! The store shows the customer a beautiful sample of top grain leather, the catalog boasts hand rubbed top grain made in North America (MEXICO), and the website does too. The product label show that it's all made in Mexico and no mention of leather. Just "product of unknown origin"!!! Where is it from. MARS?

The salespeople and customer service people are so programmed it's scary. The store quickly tells you to call corporate and corporate quickly tells you to call the store. No one wants to take responsibility for this fraud. The owner of the store is a coward and the the CEO should be ashamed. No one from corporate has returned my call. The store had the cushion repaired (painted) even though I asked for it not to be but I still have a whole lot of the stuff in my home to support my case. They rang my doorbell not making an appointment. So I have hired an attorney who is going to knock on their door without an appointment.

Recently, shareholders voted to allow Sandell to oversee the governance of Ethan Allen. It is clearly a much needed change. I sincerely hope that Sandell looks into the so called "vertically integrated" manufacturing model. The company has claimed to improve margins but has cut quality and customer satisfaction. This is a bad bad direction and will lead to the loss of its customers who should be legacy customers. You cannot maintain legacy customers by misrepresenting product and then not standing by it!!!

Ethan Allen in 1780 could have produced furniture faster than these guys deliver. Our stuff was coming in late October, then late November, now late December. Let's see what happens. Inexcusable for such a expensive company. This organization is a lumbering dinosaur waiting to be pushed aside by some nimble, upstart furniture mfr. Maybe that new company is out there already - if so, let me know.

'Ethan Allen is much more than a retailer', says a proud statement at the website. Indeed it is. It is also my worst retail experience in US so far. Most of the items are highly overpriced. The explanation is exclusivity. That is total bollocks and could even be funny if not the sales people. They are called 'designer consultant' prepared to drill a hole in one's head about EA exceptional product, which one should be happy & honored to buy.

Wanted to buy dining table at the Ethan Allen shop in Manchester CT. Knew exactly what I wanted. Didn't need a 'designer' who would happily annoy me with her/his suggestions. Got a 'designer' anyway, because there is no option to do without. Had a conversation. Returned next day with my husband to show him the piece. My 'designer' was off that day, so we had to have an experience with a designer consultant Mark **. Mr. ** announced that he is not our 'designer' so he cannot really help us. I replied that I didn't want a designer, but simply to buy a table. We exchanged opinions, the conversation got heated. Mr. ** acted like a drama queen. Self-importance galore.

How more ridiculous could be a situation where the salesperson tries to impose his superior demeanor on you instead of a mere practical assistance. And where?! In glorious town of Manchester, CT:-))))) So here am I: Nicosia, Dubai, Hong Kong, Beirut, Milan, New York, Rio, Sydney, London, Tokyo, Boston and finally in Manchester CT. I am subtly scolded and explained how things work in glamorous world of Ethan Allan. I feel lost. On a practical note: my husband got pissed off, we are not buying a table, I am writing official letter of complaint to the management. Oh and I read the customer reviews... Heaven forbid if I ever set a foot into this shop again.

My wife went down to the Ethan Allen store in Quincy MA to order a custom bed, trundle bed, bedside table and mattresses for my son's room. When it arrived, the shippers left the trundle bed standing on end and said it didn't fit. Numerous calls to EA essentially all said the same thing. "You are responsible for verifying it would fit and it's not our fault it doesn't. No returns." How in the world is it my wife's responsibility to know the furniture better than the "designers" who work there?

I pushed harder and got a supervisor at the corporate headquarters involved. She said the same thing, no returns. Then after I went off in an email she offered a 33% restocking fee that she felt was "fair" and unusually courteous of them. So I made a website dedicated to my customer service experience at Ethan Allen, which has somewhat moderated my rage at spending $10k and being incensed while doing so. The only way I got even an iota of satisfaction is I emailed the not-so-flattering website to the entire board of directors and they offered to waive the restocking fee in exchange for transfer of the domain names. Ha, I think I'll keep it in case anyone else wants to sound off.

There are multiple issues but the one I want to focus on is the warranty. We bought the five year all issues covered. We have since turned in a claim. The warranty company is trying to get Ethan Allen to honor the replacement. They won't because they said it was under different owners when we bought the sofa and love seat. As you can imagine my only options are to walk away or get an attorney involved.

Our sales representative at first appearance was polite and well mannered. What a showmanship she was!!! Sarcastic and rude barely describes her. I will withhold her name in holding high hope that she reads this and changes her behavior towards other buyers. Last parting words from her "difficult, difficult, difficult customers" assuming she was pissed off because we didn't like her suggestions. However purchased $15,000 worth of product. The emails from her are over the top sarcastic!!! I am done with Ethan Allen.

We bought our bedroom set April 2014 and the furniture still smells. At first, we thought the smell comes from the newly installed wall to wall carpet. We made a complaint to the carpet store. They came and replaced the carpet. However, we still had bad smell after months passed so decided to get rid of the carpet and have bare wood floor which we have underneath the carpet originally. The room still smells and we finally realized that the smell comes from the furniture. We went through all these trouble but we haven't been able to use the room because of the smell from the furniture.

Called Frisco store with NO help. They just state "how sorry they are." I have contacted the CEO in CT. NO response from him. The Customer Service people listen then hang up. Tell you they will call back in 48 hrs. 2 people did. Come out to my home, one VERY nasty. No help here! Color looks so BAD I could cry... EA Policy is NO RETURNS Ever!!! Have asked for $$$ back. BEST ADVICE is stay away from EA. Wish I had! Have never sat on this $$$ sofa. I am so very sad over this purchase.

They dent and scratch too easily... Within weeks of use... We are 2 50+ year old adults and do not 'bang' things around... We had a guest push a chair in and there is a dent/gouge in the chair and table edge where they met. The finish on one of the 2 most used chairs is wearing after 18 months where one places fingers to pull chair out from table. I would not recommend these items especially if you have children.

I would recommend to ask for written material that states "hardwood"... The literature states "premium lumber and veneers carefully selected and handled to guarantee premium quality". And, if you should happen to call the sales rep... She will apologize, tell you she will talk to her manager and get back to you only never to be heard from again. We went to a competitor for our family room furniture a few months after this purchase and couldn't be more pleased. Ethan Allen never again!

Just received my table and chairs for my breakfast room. Chairs' quality is horrible. Can see the seam lines in the wood of 5 of the 6 chairs. Cushions are not lined flat to the wood allowing you to see straight through the openings. Chairs do not fit properly with the size of the table making 4 on the sides to seat with an off balance. As for the size of the table...I would expect the salesperson to let me know that the size of the chairs with the table would be an issue. The salesperson laughed and asked was my reason for wanting to return the set was because I am really just mad that it took so long for the delivery? Also, was told that someone would have to come out take pictures and then submit to see if there was a problem. Then if there was a problem they would have to take the furniture for REPAIRS and this would take 6 to 8 more weeks. Uh, now I'm mad!

I purchased an Ethan Allen dining room set about 11 years ago. The armchairs have been losing their finish for several years. The upholstery is detaching and the padding for the upholstery is shot. Ethan Allen said they will recommend a business to contact for repairs, but I would have to pay the full cost of any repairs. In other words, they do not stand by their products at all. Of all the problems with their chairs, I did not expect to have the finish disappear. I thought I was purchasing a better quality product than it appears I did. Ethan Allen will not stand behind their furniture.

I purchased a sofa approximately two years ago. I paid over $4000 for this sofa. After delivery I noticed the seat cushion kept sliding away from the back. I called

customer service as there were no hooks anchoring the seat to the base. Thinking this would fix the problem. The seat cushion continued to slip forward, anytime I sit on the sofa I fall into the gap. I keep putting pillows behind me to offset the problem. I called customer service again and was advised to upgrade seat cushion. I was charged $300 for upgrade. Three months later I realize they replaced the cushion with exactly the same quality. When I first ordered this sofa I thought I ordered top of the line cushion. I hate this sofa so much, I have never had a comfortable experience sitting on it. I will never spend another dime in this store again. I spent $80000 initially. PS I saw same sofa in Pottery Barn for $2000. Am I sick...

The furniture looks nice and impressive but the delivery company is just awful. I asked several times in the store to use shoe covers for my house and even talked with a delivery company manager on that morning. Still no shoe covers and they even refused to take their shoes off!!!

Electric motor broke within 6 months, and that I don't have to tell you it was not a cheap chair. Having great difficulty getting it fixed. The store told me the company was aware that the motors were bad & orders after mine were on hold for over 2 months until they could replace the old one. I guess it was too much for them to contact me & replace motor in mine. They want to wait until chair was out of warranty & I would have to pay for it.

We have been working months to create an entertainment room. Since we own multiple rooms of British Classic furniture from EA we decided to go look & we actually found a Ming Media Cabinet floor model on sale that we felt would work well for our space. Our designer said they deliver floor models on Thursdays. We received call following Wed. that they wanted to schedule delivery for either Fri or Sat. We accepted Sat. & proceeded to purchase our entertainment equipment from another vendor and arranged it for delivery a week later.

Saturday we called EA late morning looking for delivery. We were advised it would deliver between 3 PM & 6 PM. At 5:30 truck arrived. Driver came to door asking where to deliver with paperwork in hand. He went back to truck. Stood there a few minutes, came back to our door & explained they did not have cabinet & did not know where it was. Now I have a huge equipment order coming in 4 days & no cabinet. Wished we had read reviews before buying from EA.

I ordered a chair and matching pillows for my family room. The designer was courteous and arrived promptly for the consultation in my home. The chair was delivered to my home and I never accepted the chair. The chair was poorly made. The seams were not properly sewn at the top of the rounded chair top. The seams looked like pointed hat tops. The skirt was improperly sewn so the sides of the chair skirt flared to the side instead of lying flat. The seat cushion was too large for the chair base. The repair man who delivered the chair was rude. He did not want to fix the skirt, cushion or the top of the chair.

I asked for my money back and was told a committee meets to discuss returns. Repairs were finally made, however the top cushion were never repaired. I again asked for my money back and have been told refund was denied, and to schedule delivery or I would be charged a storage fee. I called several stores and found return policies vary even in corporately owned stores. I will never buy anything from Ethan Allen in Lynnwood, Washington again. Terrible service and extremely rude service providers, even the manager!

I ordered a leather recliner in March 2015. They first said material was delayed. It would most likely be May before it would be delivered. Then a date of - sometime in June. Then sometime in July. I called/emailed last week, no reply. 5 months? What is going on?

After reading the other reviews about Ethan Allen and their poor service, I just want to add another complaint to the stack. We purchased two reclining chairs in February 2015 and received them 5 weeks later with one being damaged on delivery. We were told to call the store and they would take care of it. We called the store and a repairman arrived two weeks later only to leave with the chair not properly repaired. Called to complain and they send out another repairman, again arriving 2 weeks after the call supposedly because of a heavy schedule. He took pictures of the chair and said they would have to order parts and would call to set up a date to take the chair in for repair.

The customer service office called and said it would take 3 weeks to get the parts. 6 weeks later, still no call from the customer service and when calling them, they said it would probably be the end of August or early September (4-8 weeks) before the parts would arrive and if I was not happy with the delay to call the store manager. Unbelievable poor customer service, especially for a company that at one time was highly regarded. I would never shop Ethan Allen again, nor would I ever give them a favorable review. The sheer number of complaints on this website in 2015 says a lot!

We ordered a leather recliner in last week of April 2015. Told it would take until June 5th to receive chair. On June 5th we were told the order was going to be delayed a few weeks. Mid June I called back and was told it had been delayed until July 27th. I received a voice msg on July 14th saying the chair was in shipping. We thought reasonable shipping within US would be a week. We checked today, July 22nd and were told delivery date would probably be August 10th. I will likely never do business with Ethan Allen again and will advise anyone I know not to do business with them. Buyer beware!

Bought a sofa and the frame squeaked. They picked it up (after much arguing) and kept it for a month. We sat on the floor for a month. It came back and was in worse shape. No returns, no accommodations, no exchanges. And a rude and condescending manager. This is the worst excuse for a retail establishment. Obviously the CEO is only concerned about the bottom line... $$$... not the customer. Better service = more $$$. Horrible company.

My review is very similar to others that have been posted. I placed an order in February for a leather chair and was told they expected delivery to me in the end of March. In the end of April I had not heard from them so I called and the very nice woman told me the manufacturing plant was swamped and behind so probably May delivery. Toward the end of May I called again and was very nicely told it should be in the first week of June. I called again at the end of the first week of June and was told probably July. I asked the woman whom I was talking to at Ethan Allen if they would discount my delivery fee due to such a lengthy wait and she said she would have the store manager call me back.

The following week he called me back and the chair still was not in. He said no to the delivery fee discount request because he said that is not how he does business. I told him I was shocked and disappointed about the longer than indicated wait and he told me I should read the contract because they do not promise delivery time frames. He was very abrupt and short with me. I said the customer service could be better and he responded with "don't tell me how to run my store." I will not shop at Ethan Allen in the future. I requested a refund of my deposit and the store manager did agree to that. Maybe I am lucky because some of the other reviews about Ethan Allen's leather furniture were not favorable!

Had an Ethan Allen interior designer come to the house and lay out a plan with 4 chairs and a table. Upon arrival, the chairs didn't fit well under the table, plus they were too large to fit in the space. I called to have them take them back but Ethan Allen refused and could do nothing for us because the chairs were custom-made (we picked the color). Very angry!

We got this recliner as part of a complete living room redesign and refurnishing. All came from Ethan Allen at the suggestion of one of their designers. How many things can be bad about a recliner? We got the almost black arms which has a waxy finish, more like melted crayons. The finish rubs off with even a light cleaning and just dragging a paperback book across it will remove all the finish down to the wood. The leather is like a sponge to body oils so you better not sit or lie down in the reclining position because it will become black immediately.

The cleaning instructions say to not clean the oil from the leather (I guess, just live with it). The leather stretches out of shape and looks worn and wrinkled within a month if it is set in much. The full reclining position is very uncomfortable, with the small of a normal person's back right at the bend point so no lumbar support. Backaches quickly follow. In the reclining after less than a year of use, there are squeaks and groans like it is about to break. Look elsewhere for a recliner. Or at least another style from Ethan Allen (I've had no experience with other models).

My husband and I purchased 2 arm chairs and a sofa from EA back at the end of Feb 2015. As of today (6/5/15), we still do not have our sofa. Supposedly, the 2 arm chairs came in, but want my delivery complete, not separate. My designer has called me 3 times since Feb claiming that the fabric is on BO with first deliver mid-May, then told me end of June. Now, today, I contacted her and she is telling me the beginning to middle of July!! To wait over 5 mos for a custom sofa is ridiculous, and based on these reviews, I am not surprised by the level of service that I have had thus far. I am extremely upset by the fact that a company with such prices has this level of service. I am now concerned about my satisfaction of the quality, and size of the furniture when it is delivered.

We went down to our EA and noticed a nice sofa that we thought would look great in our new living room. I told "the designer" that it had to be the same size as the one we have in there now. NO EXCEPTIONS. We have a large room and anything smaller would look lost. We did have to wait more like 3 months for ours sofa. Came today & surprise! Looks like a little love seat! Can't even see it pass the coffee table. Just got off the phone with them & they said the same as everyone here has stated. Can't return or exchange.

After spending how much money on this because I wanted a really nice fabric since it was going in our living room not family room. Now stuck with this tiny thing & what do we do with it??? They might advertise great merchandise but they have horrible service! I have never had a problem with Restoration Hardware, Havertys, Matter Bros., etc. If ever a problem with their merchandise, they will gladly accept your return. I say unless you know who you're dealing with, stay away! Looks like just they lost some bucks since I had some big plans.

We ordered a dining table with 8 chairs and a buffet. We are extremely happy with the furniture and prompt delivery. After reading so many horror stories on this website we doubt very seriously the credibility of these individuals! We have never dealt with Ethan Allen in the past BUT would not hesitate to give them our business in the future.

I still have my EA furniture purchased in 1991 and recently purchased new furniture for my family room which gets used by teens and pets. The furniture is on trend and well made. I have had a few issues with purchases and EA has always sent out someone to solve them and my designer always conscientious about following up. I was disappointed to learn they outsource some products overseas but then so do other large high end furniture manufacturers. Overall I have no complaints and feel comfortable recommending EA to friends and family.

I have shopped at the Kalamazoo store for many years and have found exceptional value pieces that still hold their value. The customer service is exceptional to say the least (** is my personal favorite). No matter how busy they are, you feel welcomed the moment you step in to their amazing show room. I feel inspired and rejuvenated whenever I am in the store. My favorite piece of furniture is a sleep sofa purchased over 13 years ago that sits in my living room. Plenty of guests have enjoyed it. A family member even asked if he could have it, and I said he could as long as he arranges the transport (he will have to ship it to the U.K. :-) They have the best linen (hint MARKDOWNS).

We bought 4 of these chairs in tangerine orange leather and they got a stain on two of them, the very first time we used them. Ethan Allen did nothing to help us. Do not get these in their leather, it stains by just the touch of hand, just from natural hand oils. Our hands were clean. Awful looking now, completely ruined and yet brand new chairs. Ethan Allen did nothing to help. Never will shop there again!

Over the last four years I have bought 4 good pieces of furniture from the Toronto store. We have a sofa which is proving durable and staying good-looking after 3 years. I am sitting as I type on a leather desk chair which can tilt back. The distressed leather was distressed from the get-go, so it doesn't in the least distress me, and the spring is still firm. We got a nice TV stand for our 50" TV which is logically designed and serving us well.

And I sleep in an Ethan Allen sleigh bed which is sturdy and attractive. A queen size, it has a support in the middle so that it doesn't sag. The dog scratched the headboard with his claws while tossing and turning beside me, but I can't pin that on Ethan Allen. The one star off is for the poor assembly of the bed by the delivery people. One corner became loose and wobbly and a friend and I removed the mattress and boxspring so that I could tighten up all bolts. Now it is just fine. I found this site researching the Ethan Allen Bentley recliner which I sat in today. I found one scathing review of an EA recliner which became useless after 6 years of light use. I will look somewhere else for a recliner.

Have purchased 2 different groups of furniture. The second order was absolutely unacceptable. Cannot sit in either of the swivel club chairs. To solve this problem they sent out a man to take pictures of the items. I do not understand how a picture can show poor construction. Expensive lamp--did not cover the switch and were told to go and buy new shades. No compensation was ever mentioned. Horrible experience with what I thought was a reliable company.

Here's my public svc message, and my simple advice to anyone who might be furniture shopping in the near future. The home furnishing company Ethan Allen has just found itself on the wrong side of me. We've been working with the same designer from one of their flagship stores in Conn. since 2005. In late 2012 we purchased the cooper dining table and a set of six chairs for our kitchen. I thought we could expect to have this for years to come, even ten years seemed like a reasonable expectation. Within days the finish showed signs of trauma with deep scratches and areas, many areas, in fact, where the finish just seemed to be removed. But how? We apparently made the fatal mistake of actually using the table.

The table comfortably seats six and we are a family of five and our three kids use the table quite often for nothing out of the ordinary, yet I was told by a rep that I should have covered the entire table surface at every use. Placemats were not enough, and nary the mere greasy finger to come into contact with the vulnerable surface, I was told even this could assault the finish. Hmm, something to think about. The upholstery at EA is still fair, although I would be wary of the leather. If looking for case goods or any wood surface product, I would look further, as I have discovered that they are deceiving their customers: Only the upholstery is still manufactured in the US; case goods and all wood products are now made over in China.

I had placed a custom order with Ethan Allen on August 18, 2014 for two Bryant chairs. For months, I was told that the chairs were coming on the "next shipment". Initially, I was given excuses that because it was a custom order it was taking longer than usual. In February, I was told that no one knew what happened to my order but that I would get a refund. It is now May. I don't have the chairs or my $2109 deposit. This company has no integrity and a complete disdain for the customer!

Ordered custom blinds and salesperson told me they come in quickly. I waited 10 weeks for blinds and had to push to have them installed once in. Ordered custom ottoman February 28, 2015. Was given April 6th delivery date. I called Ethan Allen and front desk clerk told me my ottoman would not be in until late June 2015. Will be cancelling ottoman that is now scheduled to be delivered FOUR MONTHS after order, UNBELIEVABLE! Ordered STOCK drapes UPS shipped. Designer told me they should be delivered to store in a few days, now she's telling me three weeks. Will never do business with Ethan Allen again!

I went into an Ethan Allen store with samples of all the fabrics in my living room to show the designer so together we could pick out the perfect fabric for my living room. I needed a chair and we both agreed that black would be the perfect choice. She then excused herself as she was helping another customer when I arrived, so I told her I would peruse through the fabrics. I found exactly what I wanted, a black tone on tone fabric. I then had to use the restroom and on the way I passed my designer and she asked if I'd found anything and I told her I found a tone on tone which was perfect. When I came back from the restroom she told me she had already written up the purchase and everything was done. Unfortunately I trusted her because, after all, she was the expert and knew what I wanted because we had discussed it and she told me how stunning a black chair would look with the other fabrics I had.

The chair arrived on time but to my horror, it was blue, not black. I called the store and spoke with the designer and she said they couldn't take it back because it was a custom order and they wouldn't be able to sell it. I then spoke with the manager and she said the same thing. I then wrote to the corporate office and never received a reply, not even an apology. I didn't know what I was going to do. I didn't even have any blue in my room. It looked terrible. I ended up putting it in another room and got an area rug with a little blue in it and it turned out alright, but I will never go into their store again because their work ethics stink. They are not honorable.
