Splitit loan products

Splitit has two products that both require customers to use an existing credit card. BNPL purchases can only be made from merchants who’ve partnered with the company and display the “Splitit” payment option at checkout. When you make a purchase using Splitit, the full retail price plus any interest or fees is held on your card, then paid back in monthly or biweekly installments.

  • Retail Plan: Allows customers to make direct BNPL purchases from a merchant using their credit card, then set up automatic payments until the purchase is paid off completely. Splitit doesn’t add any fees or interest charges to these purchases, though you are responsible for interest payments already agreed to in the terms and conditions of your credit card.
  • Splitit Financing: Allows customers to use Splitit for BNPL purchases from certain merchants, but these include an added finance charge of up to 36% of the retail price.

The type of plan you can use depends on the merchant. All prices, including any added fees, are displayed to the customer before purchases are finalized.

Splitit rates

Splitit doesn’t charge any interest on payments. However, the terms and conditions of your credit card will apply to all purchases made with Splitit. If you’re unsure what your current interest rate is, review your monthly credit card statement or cardholder agreement.

Splitit fees

Splitit adds a financing charge of up to 36% of the sales price on all purchases made with Splitit Financing, but not for purchases made through the Retail Plan. There are no late fees or prepayment penalties on any purchases.

How to apply for a Splitit loan

Since Splitit uses the customer’s existing credit card, there’s no lengthy application process or credit check to complete before making a purchase. Instead, customers create an account at checkout by clicking on the Splitit payment option and entering their name, contact information and credit card details. If you’re approved, you’ll see your plan details, including the full authorized price, the amount of your first installment payment and any applicable fees.
