PNC is probably one of the worst banks that I’ve ever been unfortunate enough to deal with. They have good features, yes, but their added fees are simply ridiculous. They charge 36$ for an overdraft fee, and if your account is negative for more than five days, they charge an additional 7$ for every day that the account is overdrawn. I’ve been told that they made 12 billion dollars on overdraft fees alone. They hardly forgive the fees, and all of the employees are like robots with no compassion or understanding. They rehearse the same spiel every time, and at the end of the day, they don’t really try to actually help you out.

I spoke with a representative a few days ago about an overdraft fee that was assessed to my account due to a purchase that I had not made. She said that she wasn’t able to forgive the fee, even though I did not make the purchase, and she pushed me to opt in for overdraft protection. The representative explicitly told me that I WOULD NOT be charged an overdraft fee if I opted in to overdraft protection, and told me that this would make it so I did not have to deal with overdraft fees in the future. Believing what the representative said, I opted in for overdraft protection, and lo and behold, the next day I got charged a 36$ overdraft fee for a 5$ Hulu subscription. Upset with the false information I was given, I spoke with another representative the following day, explained the situation about being lied to, and he was not helpful at all.

He must’ve copied and pasted some spiel about all employees adhering to company policy, and all this other stuff they probably tell everyone. Even though I told him that I was lied to by the other representative. When I asked to speak to a manager, he basically said the same thing again, and then said that regardless of who I speak to, the answer is still going to be the same, which is total BS and untrue. I know people who have worked at PNC, and when I asked them about this, they basically all said the same thing: that PNC employees are trained to do everything or say anything to avoid speaking with a manager, because of how it supposedly reflects on them. I was told that the manager could be standing right next to the representative throughout the entire conversation, telling them to say they are busy or that they will tell me the same thing, just so they don’t have to deal with it.

I don’t expect to get special treatment, but I do expect companies and businesses to have integrity and to be honest with their customers. The fact that they did not acknowledge the fact that I was lied to, speaks volumes. It says to me that at the end of the day, they are more concerned with racking in extra money with all of the extra fees than they are about the actual satisfaction of their customers or about the integrity of the company. I can’t continue to support a bank that I’m not even able to trust.

On 3/21/18, I went to close my account at PNC Bank, 2761 Fairfield Commons, Beavercreek OH 45431. Once the teller and I could hear each other over the carrying on from other employees, we confirmed that only the manager could close the account or I could get cash. The manager was having a 20 minute call while we were waiting even though he knew we were waiting. The teller then directed me to him. After confirming my identity with my license, he has the check made out to me to me to cash out.

We were in the bank about 30 minutes to get close the account and make one other transaction. Both the teller and manager kept my license and did not offer to return it. My wife had to physically take it from the manager's desk. The unprofessional and party atmosphere of the bank is appalling. The lack of business sense in not knowing how to close an account and return legal documents show this bank is there for themselves and not customers. I sure did make the right move in closing the account. I will never return!

My account had pending transactions on the 15th. I made a mobile deposit on the 15th. Given that PNC posts transactions by 10pm, all pending transactions along with my deposit were due to clear. On the 16th I was hit with two $36 fees as if funds were not available for what was pending. The Rep then went into explaining the amount of funds that are available immediately ($100) and that it was put against an amount of a recurring charge. When I alerted her of the fact that that charge was still pending, she then wanted to "research" why it was showing as pending when her "computer" showed it being paid from the "available" funds. After no clear explanation on that, she then went on to explain how Overdraft Coverage works.

Apparently, according to what this PNC Rep explained, this coverage only allows debit, credit and ATM withdrawals to be paid and not recurring charges. There were 2 recurring charges that they allowed to come through because it was at the "discretion" of PNC. Meaning, they purposely allowed these to post then used the "excuse" of unavailable funds to charge me $72 in fees when a deposit and all pending transactions cleared on the exact same day! I don't care for banking institutions that state that the purpose of coverage options is to ensure customers in the case of an emergency then utilize those same options to charge fees at their discretion. As soon as I am able to, the majority of my banking will be done elsewhere. I'm done with PNC!

I used this bank for 7 yrs. I have never been more dissatisfied in my life with a bank. Over the weekend I did a couple of emergency errands at a pharmacy before the snow storm. I had enough to cover my purchase on my account. On Monday I had to buy a transit pass to get to and from work, I was short $7.00. No biggie. On Tuesday I was hit with $115.00 on overdraft fees. On Wednesday it was $152.00. I called customer service to explain my situation and I was passed on to the department that handles the overdraft fee charges. The manager (John) so he said he was a manager, doubt it with his lack of customer service. Argued with me telling me that I didn’t have no funds for my purchase done over the weekend when I was monitoring my money through Virtual Wallet. He said he would not discuss the fees no longer. That he wasn’t going to remove them.

I understand that if you don’t have money and the bank covers you then yes you’re responsible for that fee, but a $36.00 fee for a $1.89 purchase and then another $36.00 for a $3.75 purchase and then another $36.00 fee for a $21.50 purchase all of the above purchase was done while having funds in my account. The only purchase that actually did fall on me was that of a trans pass to get to and from work. The trans pass cost $25.50 and at that time I only had $18.70 in my account so I got hit with $36.00 overdraft fee which I own up for. But to take half of my paycheck on fees that I had money for because the order they posted, especially in today’s time where all kind of help is being cut for the working class, etc. Especially when you been a customer to this bank since college days.

I’ve never felt so robbed by an institution that I trusted my money with. John if that indeed is his name manager of department of overdraft fees if indeed that is his title was not at all sympathetic and of no help, he made a bad day into a nightmare. I will be closing this account ASAP once it’s up to date. I will never recommend PNC Bank to no one!!!

I've spent about 10 years with PNC, and for that amount of time they have been nothing but garbage. It's nothing to do with any of the physical people inside the establishment. It have everything to do with the online aspect of it. The PNC virtual wallet app is actual trash. It would be faster, easier and more reliable for you to check your banking information online with a computer. Which works just about as much as the app. Which leads you to the telephone, except when you call the robot stops working somehow, and then sends you to the handle of being on hold for about 2 hours. Why have I spent so long at this terrible place? Well, thats just gold-ol-fashioned laziness/depression/anxiety/holy**itsbeentenyears/whatamidoingwithmylife/imgoingtodiealone.

I've had several issues with PNC Bank with their customer aftercare program and their handling of documentation during a claims process. My first issue arose when my debit card needed to be renewed. I did not receive a renewal in the mail (PNC claimed they sent one) when I did inquire about it. I figured it got lost in the mail, was mailed late etc and was not too bothered. The local branch informed me to come on down and they could process and create me a new debit card on site. Great!

This was just a hiccup but this leads me to my biggest issue. Fast forward about 2 years, I moved up at the Cadillac dealership I was employed at and as a Christmas present for myself, decided to buy myself a used Jaguar. Since the purchase was at the dealership I was employed at, and I financed through PNC for the remainder of the lien, it was a straightforward and fast process. For context at the time I was 22 years old, had no co signer because I built my personal credit score up to an 881, which I heavily prided myself on.

About a year later while commuting to work, I unfortunately got into an accident and the vehicle was a total loss. This accident happened in January of 2016. After going through the normal procedure of communicating back and forth between PNC (Holder of the title) and my insurance company GEICO, the vehicle was deemed a total loss and the situation settled. I gave GEICO and PNC power of attorney to transfer all documents and settle the case. In my eyes everything was settled. GEICO cut a check for more than what I owed on the loan, they sent the check over to PNC and PNC sent the title over to GEICO.

About 3 months down the road I receive a call from my mother stating that she has GEICO and PNC on the phone asking for me so they can send the documentation over. Wait. This was just taken care of on a recorded call 3 months ago? I entered the conversation to find that nothing was done 3 months ago and we had to send the documentation back over. I relinquished power of attorney and the process was started a second time. Now thinking everything was settled I ended up getting a call a few weeks later from PNC and a repossession agent stating they are at the body shop which picked up my vehicle from the accident scene, and that my Jaguar was up for repossession because I was behind on my payment by 4 months.

Now this is getting crazy, 4 months ago the vehicle was totaled and the total loss settled and now this is happening? I ended up contacting both PNC and GEICO for clarification about what was going on. According to GEICO, they never received the title so they never sent the check apparently just leaving me out of the loop to suffer the consequences. I then contacted PNC and asked for who I was dealing with during the settlement. The woman who was handling my case, Julia, apparently went home early that day and forgot to send the title. This is what I was told by a PNC operator but I've never been able for them to confirm this to this day.

After bouncing between GEICO and PNC some more everything was sent over and the case settled. The repossession however is where the biggest issue is coming into play. My credit score went from an 881 to around a 550 at the time because of PNC's mistake. To this day this mistake has not been corrected. I was told by PNC to write a handwritten letter about what happened in full detail, and that they would be able to correct it. Almost two years later, countless follow up calls and still no resolution has been found to amend this situation. This has impacted my life dramatically and it really isn't fair that I have to suffer the repercussions for PNC, GEICO or both of them dropping the ball.

After this situation obviously I had no vehicle, and I could not even lease, finance a new or used vehicle even from the very dealership I worked at because my credit score went so low. I still remained a PNC customer until this week. I encountered some medical issues and have been out of work for the past few months. Disability is hard to come by and takes awhile, so obviously most of my savings were used during this time. My one account was down to bare minimum and PNC decided to charge me a service charge which ended up bringing my account into negative. Usually on a service charge that creates an overdraft, they will reimburse it and it would usually not have any negative standing on your account status.

I decided to do my tax returns early, so I contacted PNC to retrieve my bank and routing numbers so I could supply them to my accountant. The operator tells me that they've closed my account because of the overdraft, and that I would need to start a new account with at least a $1000 deposit to be reconstituted into PNC. I explained the situation and they said there is nothing that can be done. This to me was the final straw after all the colossal mishaps I've experienced while being a PNC customer. Personally I work as a Customer Relations Manager in the Automotive industry and the customer care I've received has just been appalling especially after being a loyal customer for so long.

My bank account was closed and they are still accepting my direct deposits (IRS and STATE). I called the 1800 CS hotline, they were no help at all. So I called the local branch, the first lady was no help. Couldn't tell me anything that I already knew but wasn't getting any questions answered. Why they were still taking my money (my account was already closed for at least 3 weeks or more and when I'll be getting my money back. I'd like to know what my rights are, if my account is closed, shouldn't my money be rejected and sent back to the place it was issued from? Instead they said they were taking the overdrawn fee out of my checks. Can they legally do this after my account has been closed. The branch is located in Whitehall, PA. I need help in this matter. We're talking about money I use to pay my bills and support my family. It's over 10,000$ they are keeping because of an 160$ overdraw and late fee. I need help please.

Updated on 03/05/2018: I have tried to contact PNC Bank Whitehall, PA about my account being closed almost a month ago. I had my IRS and STATE check deposited into my account not even knowing my account was even closed. I never even received a letter in the mail until almost a month later. I'm still waiting to get my money back from them which equals to almost $12,000. I think it's time I get a lawyer.

I have had a PNC virtual wallet account for about 8 months now. I like certain features, but if you become more than ($-5) they charge you a $36 overdraft fee if you do not drive and deposit the CASH before 10pm at a atm and a branch. They have refunded me before because of stupid errors or just the fact I couldn’t make it to their ATM (sometimes it’s down, once drove all over Tampa looking for one to put cash in). I was -3 dollars technically -8 dollars because of the five dollar cushion. I was OK except for the $3.00. Instead of driving to the ATM with my cash that night my friend who also has PNC Virtual Wallet Account (I referred her how ironic) said she would just Zelle (transfer the $) to me. I even looked on the website to make sure that it would go through before 10 PM. It says if you have the same bank it goes through instantly or within minutes.

The next morning I wake up and I -$45. Now all the sudden PNC will not do anything and the money has been taken out of her account, I have all the confirmation emails, and PNC will not budge has been quite rude. A couple of months ago I got a Navy Federal Credit Union account. I LIKED my PNC Virtual Wallet account but looks like no one will help me. Bad image on the bank's side.

I got a PNC credit card well over a year ago. It was 0% interest until 3/1/18. I have diligently been paying off the credit card in full before 3/1/18 to avoid having to pay interest on the balance. I made a two (2) $1K payments in January 2018, leaving a $500 balance which I had scheduled to be paid in 2/18. I logged on to my PNC mobile app today and saw that they had charged me a $27 late fee plus $1.50 interest on that late fee.

When I called them to request that they write that $28.50 fee off because I had made two (2) $1K payments in January, one of which was intended to be paid early for the February bill, they told me that the payment was "made before the start of the pay cycle" and they refused to do so. I asked them if it was worth $28.50 to retain a good customer who paid all bills on time they would not budge. I will NEVER open another account with them as they are obviously far more concerned with charging tacky fees to good customers than retaining them long term.

PNC - Thieves! I took an auto loan with PNC back in 2012. When I made a loan payment I paid more than the payment amount, usually $100 more. In 2013 they repossessed my car for past due amount of $30! Past due? And you couldn’t call me for $30 you claim I owed? At this time they informed me that the extra money I was paying wasn’t going towards the auto loan at all! They placed forced place Insurance on my loan charging me hundreds of dollars! They “realized” they made a mistake and refunded me over $1,200 but nothing was refunded towards the repossession fees I had to pay of over $300!

After this I made sure they had my up to date insurance policy that they have had since the beginning anyway! Let’s jump ahead now to August of 2017. When my accountant noticed things weren’t adding up with my loan he told me to call the bank and ask about the forced place insurance... THEY NEVER STOPPED TAKING IT! I called them at least twice a week during their investigation to figure out how much money they owed me. After sending my proof of insurance to them 6 times and multiple Team Member for their useless Escalations Department, they finally came up with a refund amount (of course they didn’t tell me how much was refunded or allow me to see a transcript of the loan). All they told me was, "You owe $121." This was December 19, 2017, I went straight to the bank and paid it.

They told me I would receive my title within 3 weeks. They handed me a payoff slip and a matching receipt. On January 8, 2018 I received a past due bill of $233. Bill generated December 22, 2017, $27.00 in late fees and a print date of January 2, 2018. I immediately called the bank and they claimed it was for Forced place Insurance from December (although they clearly have my insurance information or how did they refund me)? I once again resent my current policy and declaration page.

On Friday January 26, 2018 I spoke to Mark (the new Escalations Investigators). He claimed they now needed proof for 2013/2014. I went into the bank in Bloomsburg Pa and Spoke to Curtis ** whom chose not to help me and give me attitude as if all of this was my fault? Insanity! So I emailed the entire situation to both Mark and Curtis in hopes they will fix this problem and once again request a transcript of my loan Curtis claims I can’t have! Isn’t it mine? Don’t I have the right to know where my money has gone? I refuse to pay them any more money and I need to find someone that will investigate my loan!

A lot of shuffling of details and head nodding. Not outright lying - just not actually telling the truth. "Do I qualify for this bonus advertised on the internet?" "Yes". But I guess receiving it and qualifying for it are two separate thoughts. And then... "Will it be useful for me to wait to get my credit card reader until I am actually ready to set up my business in six months?" "No. There is no advantage to waiting..." Except for the fact that if you fail to use it within the given first 30 days, you will not be given the money back that I said would be given to you. (Unsaid.) And what about this yearly fee that was never mentioned? Hmmm... Sounds like a thing they ought not mention. Craziness. Keep your money under your mattress.

We were just hacked through PayPal. The hackers started the withdraw process of taking out two $1000 payments, totaling $2000 from my bank account. They changed my password and changed the language to French on the account so when I received my emails about the withdraws it would look like they were spam and I couldn't understand the language to find out. The next day after they started the withdraws, my husband was at work and tried using his PNC bank card. It was declined. We had $500 in our account and knew immediately this wasn't right. He looked online and noticed that we were overdrawn by $1500. He immediately took off work and headed to our local branch. They said there was nothing they could do to stop these payments until they actually posted. They were still showing pending. Which did not make sense to us. If it shows pending, it should be allowed to be stopped.

We asked how $2000 could even be deducted from our account when the funds were not even there. Her reply was that we had opted into overdraft protection. We explained to her that when we signed up it was told to us that the overdraft protection came from our growth account. If we had money to cover the overdraft amounts then it would go through. This was not the case and PNC was letting it happen. We were told to watch our account over the next 24 hours and they went ahead and opted us out of overdraft protection. So, today after we wake up we notice the $2000 is no longer pending and it had indeed been deducted from our account. My husband calls and they said he would once again need to come in. So two days in a row missing work. He goes in, signs the dispute papers and they tell us it would take up to 10 business days for us to get our money back, and that is if they find us in favor of the dispute.

Let me repeat... we are negative $1500 in our bank account, we have two kids and my elderly parents living with us. Our next payday is not until another week. Did PNC care? Absolutely not. Matter of fact they cared so little that after we left the bank with disputing the charges, we notice that one our monthly automatic payments to our car insurance has also went through. Our automatic monthly Netflix fee was declined, but our car insurance wasn't. This was even after we opted out of overdraft protection, and we are still negative $1500 that the bank decided that it was ok for another $138 to leave our account. Even though we did not authorize it. They did reimburse us the overdraft fees immediately. Funny how they can give us those charges back immediately, but not anything else. I called the PNC customer department to file a complaint.

The guy took my complaint, listened to me "ramble" and pretty much cut me off, said he submitted it, and that was it. After this mess is over, we are closing out our accounts, after being with PNC for almost 4 years, and will never return to them. EVER. This was the final straw. The fact their "protection" is what hurt us, should tell you something about this bank. I'm not saying that other banks are better. I'm not saying things happen, but the fact that this happened when it was completely preventable, says a lot about a business. Do not bank with them. Bank with someone that actually cares that they let $2000 be deducted from your account and takes full responsibility and immediately rights their wrong. This is not the bank that does that, so I urge you to look elsewhere. Look at all of the negative reviews. We are not all crazy. There is some validity to what we are saying.

I'm all for mistakes, and I would usually let them slide and call it a day and never leave a bank for it, but this was a BIG mistake and the mistakes keep happening even though we shut off our overdraft. So, pretty much anybody can hack into your account and take what they want and leave you with nothing, and PNC doesn't do anything to stop it.

I opened the Business Credit Card Account at PNC bank in 2016. The Banker at Fort Lee branch made a mistake to set up my online banking account for Business Credit Card Account since the beginning. She set it up linking to my personal account. I couldn't review the balance or transaction history for Business Credit Card account via Online banking service. I must 100% depending on paper statement for paying off balance and checking transaction history.

My online banking account was reset up in September in 2017. However, the paper statement had not be mailed in October and November 2017. I reported the customer service to fix the problem, then the CSC said that it will be corrected. I got one time courtesy waiving finance charge for first time. The November statement was missed again and the problem has not be fixed. PNC bank charged me late fee and finance charge to my account. I had paid off 100% for the balance over $10,000 per month on time. I spoke to PNC escalation service but their service has never followed up.

They didn't accept their mistake and never followed up without further explanation or contact. I have major banking account with Bank of America. Comparing to PNC bank, their service is very good. Incorrect statement set-up (e.g. Online and Mailing) and unreasonable banking charge and poor service of ESCALATION department should be reported to Consumer Affairs.

It's a shame how these banks when you need them they are not here for you. But they surely want your money. Any bank that only think of their interest and not for the people I will not invest my money. I also experience some issues with my credit card at a airport, and I called three time and they still couldn't help me to get cash. We as the people need to stand up and realize that any organization, company is for their interest only, we need to take our money elsewhere. This is your money and if this bank can help you when you need them, don't waste your time. I am closing all three of my account and take my money somewhere else. They don't care about your needs, or situation.

Unfortunately the card never shipped! They never sent the card to FedEx. I called and spoke to the rep regarding this, instead of investigating what went wrong she canceled the second card that was to be shipped. They will not reissue a 3rd card till next day, which means I will not receive my new card for another 4 days!! The staff including management are spineless robots who unlike other major credit card companies really do nothing to support their customers. No wonder they have 1 star rating, if an option existed I'd give them no stars and rate their service as by far the worst credit card company ever!

Maplewood St. Louis Mo PNC Bank - Went in to open up a prepaid credit card before Thanksgiving, so it would be here for some Christmas shopping. While trying to set up the account the teller couldn’t figure out how to work the computer system and had to call somebody to help him figure it out. Took over an hour for him to figure out the computer. While waiting he looked at my two forms of id and my social typing them into them into the computer. After finally figuring out how to work the computer he had me sign a paper and gave me a copy and gave me a receipt of my deposit and sent me on my way saying that my card should be mailed to me in 3-4 weeks.

Fast forward 5 weeks still waiting on the card having not had an email or a phone call about anything. I decided to call the bank to find out what is going on. And I am told that they declined my application because there was an error with my id’s. The teller did not make photocopies of them, so they could not approve my application. They declined it 1 week after I went in and they did not call or email to tell me that status. Until I called today asking about it. Thanks, for ruining some of my Christmas plans.

Talk to PNC online chat: "Yes, we see that you have downloaded the PNC app to your phone, and that the linked phone # to your checking account is active. We see that money is waiting to be deposited into your account, and should deposit immediately. Please call 1-844-428-8542 for help with Zelle."

Someone stole my debit card information and paid off their $375 ComEd bill with my money. The funds were posted to their ComEd account, not mine - which ComEd confirmed when I called them. I shut down my card immediately, reported the fraud, and disputed the transaction. Some days later, I received a response in the mail from PNC saying that they had completed their "investigation" into the fraud, and determined that the charges were valid - meaning, MINE. This meant the funds would not be rightfully returned to me.

When I called PNC to ask for their reasoning, I was told: 1) the person who made the charges had both my card number and the 3-digit number on the back, and I had a "relationship" myself with ComEd. Here are the problems with this "investigation": a hacker can (and did) take both my debit card number and the back 3-digit number from any number of online vendors that I purchase from - so this does not preclude a fraudulent transaction. The vast majority of people in this geographical area have a "relationship" with ComEd, since they hold a virtual monopoly on electrical service. But all ComEd accounts are tied to an address, and had they placed a substantive phone call to ComEd, they would have been able to trace the fund deduction to someone else's account - someone with another name, and another address - clearly not me.

I also received a notice from Footlocker in the mail, telling me that they were cancelling my orders, due to problems with payment. I have never purchased from them in my life; yet, someone had placed 3 orders to them with my card the very same week as the ComEd charge. Fortunately, I had cancelled my card before Footlocker pushed the charges through, and it never posted to my account - otherwise, I would be out those funds, too. PNC does not allow their "investigation" decisions to be appealed (even though it was a pathetic and incomplete), and they wouldn't accept my Footlocker notice as evidence of further attempts at fraud. PNC will not have your back. To them, "fraud protection" is a nice phrase that looks good on paper, and will give you a false sense of security. Watch your back.

Back in 2012, there was a large lawsuit brought against some of the largest banks for rearranging or hiding transactions to create overdraft charges. PNC were one of those banks. Fast forward to 2017, almost 2018, and they are STILL doing it. I made a purchase on Amazon for $114 on 11/25/17, which immediately posted on my PNC app and deducted from my available balance. On 11/30/17 I noticed that I had $114 back in my account, but thought it was a credit from Verizon, who had overbilled me and after speaking with them that day, refunded the money to my PNC checking account. Actually, this was the PNC masterminds at work. SIX days after making that Amazon purchase, PNC put the funds from that charge back into my account and then took it back out on 12/01/17 with a posted date of 12/01.

I have a feeling they saw the incoming refund from Verizon and thought they'd pull a bait and switch on me. Needless to say, I had less than $1 in my account after they posted the $114 Amazon charge as well as another $30 Amazon charge they were hiding the entire time. This shady activity happens all the time. PNC will hide, shuffle and hold charges to create overdraft fees. I'm convinced they have an application on their banking system that does exactly that. I think it's time to say bye bye to PNC and open a checking account with another bank, not that it'll probably be any better, because ALL banks are greedy, money sucking scum. Perhaps it's time for another lawsuit? I'm sure all the shady transactions, switcharoos, and hide and seek charges are in black and white on PNC's servers.

They pull you in with a low rate and then after they've done everything, all the paperwork, credit reports, etc., they change programs on you! We had TONS of equity. We had an EXCELLENT credit rating. The 'suit' behind the desk told me that he has never missed an achievers' trip and that he was the 'best' at PNC. He tried to get us to take out a whole new mortgage even though we had already paid off more than 7/8 of our house, and only needed some CASH to finance our child's college education. When we shot that down and chose a modest HELOC instead, he changed the whole perimeters.

We had discussed ALL options beforehand and I have all the emails. It was outrageous. We didn't even write him back when we got his offer. We went back to our current bank and they honored everything they told us verbally, even after all the background paperwork was completed. It was a complete joy compared to the horrendous experience with PNC bank. This loan officer is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He is not who PNC should be touting as their "best" loan officer. If they really knew how he was jeopardizing the financial lives of their potential clients, all to line his own pockets, would they really still be rewarding him?

Maybe it's their culture? I hope not. I hope he gets the boot soon. This should have been a hidden camera investigation. Take it from me, don't be allured by the gorgeously decorated bank (think Gringots), or the over-abundant customer service (three suits asking who you're here to see), just skip PNC all together. Personally, there is no difference with the regular checking account and virtual wallet. There was a company who took out a payment and I told them that I did not want them taking any money out of my account because they took it out the day before I told them I get paid. I called PNC because they charged me $35 for me not having any money in the account when the withdrawal occurred. That was fine because I understood that when I signed up. But what bothered me was that they turned around and charged me $36 for asking for the stop payment and then they sent me a letter and said that they were lifting the stop payment off of my account because THEY did not see that it was an issue with the people taking the money out of my account.

So not only did they charge me $36 but they kept it after they lifted the stop payment off of my account. They need to revamp this bank and their policies because to me that was unfair! How is a bank going to tell me THEY did not see an issue with a company taking money out of my account? And since it was my account I see a problem with it and they did not refund me my $36. They still kept it so I closed my account with them and I am never going back! I love credit unions. They are so much better! Everyone has different experiences but, I would not recommend PNC bank to anyone. They do not even show you when your deposit is pending when your payments are pending like they are horrible.

Well someone needs to have her find a new job. We are seriously looking to move our 4 accounts elsewhere after her treatment and her response is "whatever". Really? Is this who PNC wants to represent their company? So sad. She said we have to wait 14 days or more to fix this because it's a computer error.

Well I know a thing or two about computers, and they need a human to push the buttons on the keyboard. She then told me that all the other companies that put the charges thru are the ones at fault and that the bank does not monitor duplicate charges. Well I found a banker who told me that they work with the customer when these things happen and they don't say "**" like whatever to their customers and I will bet that PNC does not care for this practice either. The mobile banking app is horrible. I was doing a mobile deposit from my Business PNC account to my Personal PNC account late one evening. I do this 2 or more times a month. The funds are always available immediately because it's a PNC to PNC transfer. I made this deposit about the time PNC came out with this "available immediate funds program." The box came up on the screen asking if I want the funds to be available immediately. My thought was sure I do, it's always available immediately. I clicked the box not knowing there was $60 fee attached to this normal function I do a couple of times a month.

I called PNC and was told that I checked the box so the fee is valid. As soon as my business slows down in the winter months, I am switching banks for my business, my personal account, savings account, and my children's accounts. The fees are OUTRAGEOUS. This is not the first time I have had fees over something stupid with PNC. This is the first time I have ever written a negative review about any business in my entire 50 years of life. PNC stinks. It's time to bank with a more modern bank with excellent customer service.

I have been a PNC customer for, oh, probably 20 years, and have watched it deteriorate so badly over the years. It used to be a pleasant and friendly experience to stop in the Monroeville office. There used to be a service kiosk as you walk in, and they took care of many items like depositing checks, and other small things to take a load off the tellers. There were lots of other little nice things. They did a remodel about a year ago --- got rid of the kiosk and cut down the teller windows to 4 --- usually only 2 or 3 of which are open. I had to deposit a check on Tuesday, August 30, and the line was so long and slow that I left. I stopped again this morning Sept. 1, and it was even worse, 14 people in a line that wasn't moving. I asked to speak to a manager. Jamella said, “Well it's a Friday before a holiday on Monday,” as if to say --- "Well what do you expect." My exact words were "I expect better".

I am 73 years old and have back and leg trouble, and I just can't wait in these long lines. There were workers in cubicles, Brett and Marc were standing around doing nothing. People all over, but 3-4 poor tellers, breaking their backs, trying to do their best to satisfy the disgruntled customers. You know, it's always the lowest workers that have the burden, that get cut when profits are down. But you can afford to spend millions on naming PNC Park, advertising a section at Heinz Field, and all the other advertising and waste, but you can't spend small potatoes on a few tellers to help customers. Well I guess you want to force your customers to go “on-line” anyhow --- so what if you lose some of us "old people". Well, it's some of us "old people", that have a lot of the assets, and you are making a good attempt to lose them --- if that's want you want.

We kept the PNC checking account due to both my husband and my paychecks are direct deposited, and we also have loans that are auto withdrawal from that account. We have had no other issues since then.

So on the 11th of August we went in and applied for a credit card, to transfer a balance too. On the 12 a Bank of America account was attached to my account under the transfers options. I did not catch it until the following week. There are definitely some fraudulent people in this organization. I personally think this last incident was done by Julie. Oh, and if I lose my debit card, I can have another made at a different PNC bank that's also local, while I wait! No need to wait to get it in the mail. That I find to be a very handy feature.

To date I have been refunded fees incurred in 2017. I am being told that no refunds would be made for 2016 because the fiscal year was already closed. My situation is being likened to a fraudulent debit card transaction that was not reported for six months which would relieve the bank of responsibility to investigate. However this month i.e. Aug 2017 on 4th they charged me a service fee which I had not taken. I had to call them to refund the amount and after explaining with all patience I got my amount back on 7th Aug 2017. Surprisingly they again charged the amount on 8th August 2017 and when I called them for the refund they bluntly said they will not going to refund the amount.

This is really not fair on Bank to debit my account. All I want is refund into my account. When I opened the account first they told me that as long as I do not do over the counter transaction, there will not be any charge even if the account balance is at ‘0’, but later they started charging me for not maintaining balance though I did not do any over the counter transaction. I had to call them about the charge, and then PNC BANK customer care person told that I have to maintain the balance even though I do not involve in any over the counter transaction. When I said this is not what I was told, he said the rules is that I need to maintain min balance of $500. ALL I WANT ME MY AMOUNT TO BE REFUNDED. It's bad enough that they decided to no longer offer me images of my checks unless I pay a fee, but now they want to charge a fee for me to get my monthly statement! Now that I have the most basic, low balance account you can get, they are charging me $7 for not keeping a $500 minimum average in my account. How does that hurt the bank? They had no answer. I explain that I put about $2600 a month into the account, and then pay all my bills which takes it right back out.

Am I supposed to not pay a few bills to keep the balance up for them?! They explain that sometimes it depends on when the check recipients deposit their checks. How do I have any control on when the companies that I'm paying take the money from my account?! They don't care. I am told that if I have direct deposit then I don't have to keep the $500 minimum. If the minimum doesn't matter then why do I have to keep it at all?! They are now trying to dictate how I bank or pay a fee. I was offered at one point 'overdraft protection', for money to be automatically be transferred from my savings to my checking to cover any unintended overdraft. Made good sense to me. During a rare overdraft (bad math on my part) my savings account covered the difference, for a fee!!! All these fees are nothing more than penalties. Who penalizes its customers for doing business with them rather than encouraging it?! I am moving my accounts elsewhere!!!

Let me start off by saying that PNC Bank is very untrustworthy and a big scam! The credibility of PNC Bank is like getting a degree from Trump University! Beware of PNC Bank because it doesn't care about its customers and only cares about making money. Switch to another bank and close you PNC Bank now! Here is my story:

I just noticed that after many years (10+ years) of being a valued customer at PNC Bank, I am very angry that PNC started to charge me $3.00 for service charge fees each time I view a deposit ticket online. I was never charged with this ridiculously service fee in my entire PNC life. I personally spoke with a PNC representative at a local PNC branch and I was told that PNC had charged $3.00 service charge fee for a long time. This is totally wrong for me since I never got a bank service charge in my 10+ years at PNC Bank when viewing deposit tickets online. The representative did her research and never found any service charge in my 10+ years at PNC bank, except this unfortunate day. I was charged 7 times of $3.00 each for viewing a deposit ticket online in one single day! This is absurdly a crazy big scam and unethical in robbing our hard-earned money.

My family has other online banking accounts and they never had to pay a bank service fee for viewing their deposits online. PNC Bank should stop charging a bank service fee each time we view a deposit ticket! I bet a lot of people also fell into the same scam and was surprised by this $3.00 service charge fee. This is beyond our wildest imagination! Imagine this: $3.00 service bank fee per viewing deposit ticket times 52 months in a year equal $364.00. Imagine this again: $364.00 times the total amount of PNC customers potentially being charged by this scheme and you will end up millions of dollars per year! By the way, I got charged $21.00 in one day for viewing a deposit 7 times! I am very not happy about this because I and many others will be charged again in the future each time we view a deposit ticket online. Sad!

A year ago, they decided to change their rules stating we had to use online banking and utilize the ATM instead of telling to avoid monthly fees, and we abided. Now, last month they tell us they are no longer doing that and had a new list of requirements to avoid fees, that we couldn't meet. So I went to bran, Telegraph Rd., St. Louis, MO. and asked to close all accounts. Banker withdrew all our funds and said she would close our accounts the next morning, allowing the withdrawals to post. She did not follow up which led to us being charged $7 fees, and overdraft activities due to no $ in the account, because I closed them. Geez!!! One month later, still fighting with incapable customer service reps that don't get it, nor want to do their job. Story of the times of our lives I guess. So, in my eyes, PNC sucks.

So I wrote out another check and put it in my mailbox. Come to find out both checks did get to PNC Bank and they both cashed. This was totally my fault. The very next day I received some overdraft fees. I think about five of them because it screwed up some of my other charges that I had made so I called up Pnc to explain my situation. I asked if they could reverse the charges if I had put cash into the account because they were still pending and they said yes and I said am I able to write a check out and deposit that because I was at work and they also said yes. That if I put a check in there that would cover it so that's what I did. I wrote out a check.

I put it into my account and when I look at it I still received five nonsufficient funds. So I called up Pnc and they would not reverse them. They said that my check did not clear. Why was told that a check would be fine to write out? How? This is not the first time that this happened. A PNC Bank likes to take the larger amounts and put those through first Then put the smaller amounts through. It actually makes your account overdrawn. This was the big thing with Pnc and they had to pay out a lot of people while they're still doing it. If I was told I could do that check I should be able to get my money back so they're making money off of what they told me that I could do. I have been with Pnc for very long Time but I think I'm going to switch banks and write the president a letter of the PNC Bank. If I had known this would happen I would have marched my happy butt right into a branch and paid it there.

All of this over a $25 late fee. This fee is NOT my responsibility.

PNC you need to set this right. At the very least you need to put a disclaimer on the app stating that Bill Pay takes a long time and will most likely cause late fees. Also, the gal I spoke with in customer service, Jasmine, very condescending. Pretty much told me I should pay my bills on time so this doesn't happen again. I have encountered a problem with my online banking for OVER 18 months and still PNC tells me they put my problem to their escalation department. I got into the bank, talk to people there, the escalation department calls me, but nothing is ever resolved. I found out recently they use a third party to fix issues like mine, then I was told no they are handling it internally. Then about two weeks ago, I had yet another online banking issue. I have a platinum account with PNC which sounds pretty impressive right? The kids just opened accounts, and we have CD's and other accounts with PNC. You would think we might be a good enough customer that PNC would want to resolve the issue. But nothing happens.

Basically I cannot go in and see history of vendors. So for example if you want to see how much you paid say Best Buy for a period of time, you cannot call up the individual vendor let alone a specific period. I am self employed so I use or rather used to use this feature all the time. I buy items on 6 months or 12 months same as cash frequently, and it's handy to be able to see at a glance how much I have paid toward the balance so to avoid finance charges. I also use it at end of the year for taxes and my allowable deductions.

My second problem is now when I pay online, the PRINT button is gone. Literally gone! So I have to either hand write the receipt, do a screen shot or take a photo with my smart phone and then print one of the latter two items. If PNC cannot handle simple program bugs like this, how safe is my or your money at PNC? They do dominate retail banking in Pittsburgh. They are nice to your face, but results are all I want. And I am no closer to a resolution from 18 months ago, than I am today on July 12, 2017.

They claimed they email me the change but in fact what they mean is that they send an email notifying you that a statement is available if you log into your account. So, there's 2 steps you have to do. Find an email from PNC bank and then look at the statements. Today, people get tons of email, no one is able to read them all. At the very least, the email should say either fees have been withdrawn from the account or there has been activity in your account. That way customers would check to verify. The fact that it looks like an ordinary email regarding your account allows the bank to STEAL money. They only send you an actual letter once they depleted ALL of the funds. How is this legal???

The local bank rep passed me along by telling me to call the 1888 number to get it fixed and I got the same BS that it's my responsibility. Toward the end of PNC online app for opening checking account, I changed my mind. There was never a submit or confirm button to click on that would have lead me to believe I had executed the application. Never-the-less, soon after I received an email from PNC confirming that I opened an account. Despite the ambiguous online application process that lead to this inadvertent attempts to close it with the local branch as well as with an escalation specialist, I am forced to leave the account open with a $500 minimum balance for 6 months unless I choose to pay a $25 fee! Ridiculous. They refused to waive this paltry $25 given the unusual circumstances. Will never recommend this bank!

I wish there was 0 or negative scores also. The PNC Bank deserves the negative point. Never ever open an account with this bank. The employees of this bank know nothing. Never ever trust their answers. Check the answer with several people and if you can check it yourself. Even very simple questions. I think their employees did not go to even high school. Even if they had normal IQ, they could learn during working.

Like they said they have the right to not want to do business with customers anymore as customers have same right. If they thought there was suspicious activities on my account why didn't I get a phone call like all other normal professional banks do. Besides I never called to report suspicious activities. I've a PNC customer for 7 years with-out any problems. However today I identify a flaw in their system. I transfer funds between checking/saving accounts via the app on a regular basis. I also make credit card payment via the app as well. Last week (23rd) I made a payment from my PNC checking acct to my PNC credit card. The due date for the payment was the 24th. Now I was under the impression the payment would apply instantly or next at the latest. To my surprise, there is a 3 day processing period before the payment post (Which I was unaware of). This doesn't make sense since I transferring funds within the same institution. I spoke with Anna (Supervisor Credit Card Services in Michigan) she refuse to waive the $25 late fee, because I received a "courtesy" 2 months ago.

I appreciate the courtesy removal of the late fee last month. However this isn't a courtesy, because the payment was made before the due date. It just the right thing to do!! According to her, she is the highest point for escalation. If that is the case, PNC needs to review their 3-day processing period when making payments from PNC personal accts. to PNC credit cards. THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!

I've been a customer for decades. After getting married, I wanted to keep a small checking account for sentimental reasons. Created savings accounts for my children when they were born. Repeatedly, without notification, our accounts were accessed $7/ monthly fees. They refunded the child accounts, but not mine. The branch always told me they would refund them but it never happened. They suggested I switch to a Virtual Wallet. But then I started getting $2/ monthly fees for paper statements. They fixed that and returned $6. Since I did not use the account, in the end, they had essentially stolen half of my entire balance. The branch told me I had until June 27 to work things out with the escalation dept, but today, the lovely woman at the escalation dept. who could NOT return my fees, did return the fee assessed on the 19th!!!

She had no idea what the branch manager could be referring to as the computer stated my billing cycle was on the 19th. The only notification I've received in the last 3 years is via email last month. Nothing was ever sent to our house except offers for credit cards. They say they notified us, therefore refused to return the fees. There was no documentation that the branch had returned the fees either. I supposed I should have made them sign a statement? Record the conversation? I closed those 3 accounts today because I cannot watch guard the bank every month and/or check statements every month to make sure the branch actually refunds the fees when they say they will, or anything else they say is true. We're done.

Last year we tried to open a business account. We did not have the 501c3 for setting up a nonprofit account so we opted for a business account. They would not let us open the account without IRS documentation. Since I had several thousand dollars to deposit, they told us to open a Virtual Wallet and name it the nonprofit name, which we did. Then once we had legal documentation that the IRS accepted our application, we returned to the bank to convert the Wallet to an actual business account. The branch manager would not allow it. She said, "Anyone can obtain an EIN#." So I have checks made out to the business and cannot deposit them or convert the account to a business account, cannot deposit them into my personal/virtual wall business account? I asked the people who made the donation to please use PayPal or make the check out to me personally.

Overall, I'm relieved we did not set up a business account with PNC because their fees are unreasonable high for a business just starting out. The branch manager acted like we were trying to do something illegal, after they literally stole half of our personal banking funds blaming glitches in the computer and notification systems.

It's one thing is they clearly state their policies and you don't like them. Go elsewhere. It's another if they have to lie and scheme and steal the money from you and then discriminate your legal documentation to do other business with them. And it's one thing if they "steal" money from your personal accounts. It's your loss. But if this sort of thing goes on with a nonprofit, and I am ultimately responsible for those funds, I could go to jail. You'll see me on the news crying. It will be me who ultimately pays the price. No thank you. I would rather keep my money "under the mattress" before I would ever trust PNC. We are in the process of closing all accounts.

I have had an account with PNC since 1999, and although I consistently hear how awful PNC is to bank with, I never had enough of a reason to close my account. I deposited a check from another party that didn't clear because of insufficient funds. As a result, I was assessed a $12.00 fee because the check returned. The same person wrote me another check from a different account, it didn't clear again and I was charged another $12.00 fee. I contacted PNC customer service to see if they would credit the fees, at the very least as a courtesy for being a long standing customer. I was told that the fee is part of their banking agreement and they REFUSED to credit the fees.

I escalated the issue and another person told me that it was their "final decision" and that was it. Now I understand that fee is part of their banking policy, however, isn't it good customer practice to at least offer a one time courtesy credit? Instead all PNC does is cause customers grief and cause people to attempt to bank elsewhere. I work for a Fortune 100 company; this type of customer service would never fly. Guess that's why PNC isn't on any Top Fortune company lists. What irked me the most about this whole thing is that I was charged because someone else wrote two bad checks! I am in the process of closing my PNC account and will bank elsewhere.

I use the scheduled payment option on April, but the system did not registered the scheduled payment. When I checked my account the next day I noticed I received a late fee for late payments. I called PNC to tell them that I had schedule a payment and that there should not be a late fee, they responded that they could not do anything about it and that it was my fault for not making sure the payment went through the day of. I have been a customer with PNC for about 11 years. Today hit the last nerve with them and I will be removing myself from their customer database today before 5 pm. Last night I went to get gas (pay at the pump). The gas stopped pumping at around $4. I was very confused by this because I had just checked my balance to make sure I had funds available. I normally don't keep money in my account because I am aware of ghost transactions that can take place. When I checked my balance, I had $18 and some odd cents. So the gas pump stopping at $4 confused me. I wrapped it up to maybe a bill came out so I had used my last dollars available. I went inside to pay the rest in cash. This left me expecting my account to be at $0. This was Wednesday evening. I knew I had small bills due Thursday but I also get paid on Thursdays so I thought nothing of it and as long as I deposit funds before 10 pm, I'd be covered.

I check my account Thursday morning and suddenly I am negative $43. I check my transactions in my app but for some reason they don't match up with my transactions online via computer screen. Neither one of the transaction lists match with my personal written transaction log book. From what I can see according to the transaction lists provided via app and internet, the last transaction was the monthly $7 fee from PNC. Last month it came out on the 8th so I was aware it was being deducted, but on Thursday rather than Wednesday, again which would be fine because I deposit funds every Thursday.

This then makes me question why the gas pump stopped at $4 if I had already over drafted that day... Apparently all these fees got added this morning. Confused yet? Me too. So I got online to chat with a representative, because I am at work and don't have availability to call. I explained my issue of confusion and they sent me back transactions over the last week and told me I have to keep a personal log of my transactions because with a debit card the purchase is deducted immediately. Which is not true because if that is the case then why doesn't my personal log match up with what is online or on the app. There's transactions I made Monday that didn't come out until Wednesday. Where is the immediate withdrawal? Even the rep sent transactions in a list that still did not match up with any of the other forms for finding out my real bank account balance.

I explained that their $7 fee taken a day early without notice is the reason I over drafted. It's right there on the PNC website. They said they would not waive the overdraft fee and that they hope I understand that having 7 years of back bank records makes it worth it. This is where I am finished being a customer at PNC Bank. I already pay $84 a year for monthly required fees then for them to charge me $40 more because they switch the dates around without any notice at all, makes them a bad untrustworthy financial institution. I am happy to stop doing business with any person or company/business who thinks its okay to take advantage of people. They charge for having money in the account and charge for not having money. And the rep tells me it's my fault because I didn't keep a log. I do keep a log and it's very up to date, due to starting my own businesses and needing to know every important piece of information possible.

PNC changes their monthly fee dates without telling their customers then expect the customer to pay more money for their bad business actions. I'm appalled at this nonsense and will be closing my account today. I'm one small person to their huge presence but I will do everything in my power to persuade my friends and family to go elsewhere before this happens to them or anyone they know.

Then transferred to a so called escalation person who said since I closed the account, they could not credit the $25 to my checking account which has been with them 3 yrs, no late fees no overdrafts and has a few thousand going thru it in a month. I've noticed a sneaky trick that PNC Bank plays. I'll make an additional principal payment on my PNC Loan from the PNC website. PNC will deduct the money from my PNC checking account almost immediately. But it will take 3 to 5 business days for the additional principal to be credited to my PNC loan. When the payment is credited, the post date is back-dated to the date I made the additional principal payment. If I compare the interest charged on the loan I can see that interest continued to accrue on the full loan balance up to the date PNC "truly" posted my additional principal payment.

In other words, they get to charge me a couple days of extra interest by delaying posting my additional principal payment. I've had the situation where PNC posted the regular monthly payment to my PNC Loan several days before posting an additional principal payment that was made 4 days prior to monthly payment. Again, allowing them to charge a little extra interest by delaying posting my additional principal payment. I've complained to PNC and their response is that additional principal is always credited on the "post" date.

I attempted to make flight arrangements prior to May of 2017 on the Southwest Airlines via the web. This resulted in a flight I didn't want and I had to call the airline and re-schedule after being reassured from the agent that since I hadn't had the flight from the website for even an hour my bank and the airline wouldn't charge me. Both the bank and the airline charged me so I cancelled my flight(s) with Southwest and used American Airlines instead.

During the interim, I spent countless hours holding for a bank representative in merchant services to discuss the details of the cancelled flights only to be advised by the bank that the merchant and only the merchant could provide details such as my credit card number without me being on the phone hearing the call. Well, Southwest claimed they weren't allowed to provide my credit card number for security reasons. That resulted in a provisional credit being issued which has been subtracted with overdraft fees included. I want consumers to be aware that even physically going into the bank won't resolve anything. And both banks at least PNC have policies in place that will not only tie up your funds, but if it takes a little more effort on behalf of the customer PNC Bank will not go to bat for their customers.

I received a letter asking me to fax additional information to the bank however, having misplaced the document I proceeded to go directly to the bank in person to resolve the matter once and for all. That resulted in a banking associate handing me the name of the person handling this matter but no direct line for me to speak with the person investigating it. Which has led me here. I hope your organization can assist me in getting a fair resolution. I really don't know what to do other than switch banks at this point.

I just had the worst experience at this bank. I went yesterday morning, 5/25/17 to withdraw money. I'm getting ready for a grad school trip to do research in Cuba and I need cash for 2 months, and so, I went in expecting to withdraw about $3k of my OWN money, from my OWN account. Needless to say, the manager at this branch immediately criminalized me and made me feel as if I was a fraud. I provided them with ID (in the form of my passport which is the surest form of ID) and my debit card. However, the manager was skeptical that someone like myself would be withdrawing this amount of money. I was humiliated when he began asking me personal questions about my motives for withdrawing this much money. I honestly feel like his biases and prejudices prevented him from believing that a person like myself has access to this much cash.

I am a young, ** woman, which definitely played a role in how I was perceived. His first statement was, "I don't recognize seeing you around here at this branch, so we're gonna have to ask you a few questions." He genuinely believed that the money in the account was not mine, and he did everything he could to grill me, and make me feel like a crook, when I just wanted to be in and out. He went back through my account history and asked why I opened my account in Philly, and am now in NJ. Why am I taking out this much money... things that I would not be asked to prove if I fit his perception of someone with money. I was literally treated like a second class citizen, when I've been entrusting this bank with my money since high school!

His interrogation proceeded for about 20 mins. Afterwhich, he had no option but to give me my money, because I could answer all of his ridiculous questions. Overall, I'm just disappointed and quite offended that the manager would make me feel like a criminal. He offered no remorse and even when giving me the cash, he still kept questioning me. I really hope that corporate can provides better sensitivity training to their employees so that they can better manage these instances. No one should have to feel this way! Was told my husband who is the name on the account needs to be on the line in order to receive our PIN code #. Called back again with my husband on the line and Jona ** gave us absolute very confusing information in regards to PIN code... 1st she verified that my husband is on the phone then she tells both of us that she'll mail the PIN code to our home, I stopped her and asked that she give PIN code over the phone. She then gave this # and cautioned that it would only be good for 15 min., my husband then asked her to also mail us a PIN code since the one over the phone would become inactive after 15 min. is allowed (absolute nightmare). She then refuses to mail a PIN code because she tells us that she has already given us a PIN code over the phone.

My husband then is asking her... "What do we do after PIN code has expired and we cannot properly access our account??" She then says, "you can call back and request a PIN code to be mailed to you..." Keep in mind we already have requested that she please also mail this to us. She continued to be very confusing with the information provided to us in this respect (very incompetent people they have working here). She was very disrespectful and chose to ignore our request to mail us a PIN code. After we repeatedly asked her to bring a supervisor on the line to assist us in this area, she simply would say the following "I'm sorry, I do not have someone available at this time, but I can give a request for someone to call you back in 24 hours." She repeated this over and over again for 30 minutes... we also asked her to please put another representative on the line and she gave the same answer.

She simply ignored our requests to have someone else gives us proper assistance. I then mentioned to her that when I had called earlier in the day, the representative before her was able to immediately call for additional help. After I said this to her, she said nothing. So we knew that what she kept responding was absolutely false and simply choosing to keep us waiting on the phone, keep in mind that my husband was on the road and I was at the office while this call took place. She was made aware of this initially when we placed the call to your service center. (Simply unacceptable conduct on her part.)

Truly, customer service here is very inadequate and lacking in all areas. You cannot give your customers 15 min to re-register and enter all information necessary so that they can access their account properly. How disgraceful and horrific type of way to treat your customers. We are currently searching for a new mortgage lender who does in fact give their customer top quality customer service. As a result of non-payment of an approximately $14.00 balance on my PNC credit card, as well as phone discussions with PNC, I discovered the draconian and unforgiving card termination policies of PNC. Apparently if you have a balance of as little as one cent [$0.01], and you do not pay that balance for 60 days, PNC will terminate the card and notify the credit rating agencies of same, thus reducing the credit score of the [former] customer. The only exception is if the customer can show a mistake on the part of PNC. The amount owed, number of times this occurred for the customer, misunderstandings - nothing will stop PNC from knee-capping the customer's credit score.

I also found out that even if you have a rewards balance, that cannot be used to pay off a small credit card balance. I was told that they needed my permission to do this. Yet they closed the account and took the $14 anyway, without my permission. In my case, for $14 owed, PNC has blown off a customer. I will visit my local branch tomorrow to withdraw in cash the approximately $1,500 I have in Virtual Wallet accounts and be done with PNC. I will also attempt to persuade others, including my partner, to terminate their business with PNC based on their severe and unforgiving policies. I admit error on my part, but the lack of consideration of scale or context by PNC is intolerable.

This bank lives to charge fees. I have had several issues but I will only discuss the worst. I typically only write checks to pay bills, mainly to avoid fees just to use my debit card. I get paid every Tuesday but my paycheck always hits the bank around 11 pm on Monday. On one particular occasion I had to write a check on a Friday, I knew I didn't have sufficient funds so I asked them to wait until Monday to deposit the check. I didn't think it would be a problem because any other time I have written a check it always post the following business day (if the merchant deposits it that day).

On this particular Monday, there was no account activity on my account all day. Around midnight which technically was Tuesday, I checked my account and my paycheck had posted and I was confident that I was good to go. In the middle of the night and I'm not sure exactly what time but it had to be after midnight, PNC posted the check which again shouldn't have been a problem because it was the next business day and my check was already there. However, not only did they revert the date on the check as if it has posted on Monday, they also charged me and overdraft fee.

When I called their Customer Support Team, I was given this explanation: "While the check may not have a posted in your online banking account until after 12 AM Eastern time today, this check was actually presented to your account to be paid yesterday. When a check is presented to your account it will not appear on your account history until after it has been processed, which starts each business day at 10 PM Eastern time." On several locations in the past I was told that according to their own policy the end of each business day was 10 PM. At 10:01 PM you are at the next business day. Although, the CSR said this but you reworded it to make it sound like we were going backwards instead of forwards. That seem to be the case most times I called them. They constantly change or distorted their explanations to fit and justify what had happened to me.

These kinds of practices are unacceptable and in my opinion, this is stealing money from me which is the worst thing anyone can do to me. That is to take my hard earned money away from me and then act like it's your fault because of some policy or procedure that, I couldn't find it in writing by the way, magically appeared to be relevant to my situation. I even asked the customer service representative where I could find this policy and I received no answer for that question. He basically told me that PNC reserves the right to do whatever they want to do and that when I used my debit card the first time, I was agreeing to all of these policies. At this point I am on a mission to discredit and give PNC a bad name. It is very nice to see that I'm not the only one who has gone through this because they sure try to make me feel as if I was. Long story short, do not bank with PNC Period!

DON'T sign up for this type of account @ PNC Bank, unless you really need it! The only advantage over their lower-balance account is "free checks" (which cost about $25 for 100 checks) and free ATM fees. I have banked with this bank (now known as PNC) and the same people for many years.... Since they were Harbor [Federal-?] and then National City Bank. I only write 1 or 2 checks a month, and NEVER use an ATM.

SOMEHOW, when my account was switched from their "Everyday" account to a "Virtual Wallet Performance Select" account, THEY FAILED TO TELL ME that if my monthly balance dropped below $2,000, I would be charged $25 per month "bank fees." Well, since my only income is now Social Security, $25 is a lot of money to me. I was LIVID when I found out that I was being charged this fee. Partly my own fault for not noticing it on my account statements, but I should have been TOLD about these fees when my account was changed from the lower-balance account to their Virtual Wallet Performance Select. At this point, I am not even sure WHY they switched my account from the lower-balance type to their "Select" account. That's a mystery in itself. But PNC's "Select" account selects YOU to be charged banking fees, if you don't write many checks --- and who does these days? And don't use ATM's.

I have both a savings account and an auto loan with PNC. I live out of state. Long story short. I couldn't make a payment online out of my PNC savings account due to my account being "inactive"? I had 4 times the amount I needed to make the payment. I called the branch where I opened the account and was transferred to about six different people in the duration of a little over an hour. I explained over and over that I wanted to make my payment from my PNC savings account to each person I spoke with. I finally spoke with someone who seemed competent and they assured me it was done. The next day I use my debit card and it was declined. The dodo at PNC used my checking account number from another bank. I suppose because I had used it before to make a payment. Twice in the last three years or so. I normally mail in my payment. The whole reason I called was to use my PNC savings account.

My "inactive" savings account? I don't understand that one at all. The money was there. How's that inactive? Anyway now I'm overdrawn with my checking account for a withdrawal that I did not authorize. I'm at the mercy of a totally inept and wrong company. With a slew of recorded phone conversations to prove it. I have no money in my checking account nor my pocket. I have no faith whatsoever in PNC to straighten this out promptly. I'm over drafted through no fault of my own. My bank where I have my checking account at will put it all off on me as being irresponsible. All due to the complete incompetence of PNC. I did everything I was supposed to do. It would be nice if PNC would own their mistake. I asked them to contact my other bank with an explanation. Speaking with PNC representatives is like communicating with Charlie Brown's teacher. Whaa whaa whaa Whaa... pathetic.

I bought 2 iTunes songs for $.99/each and got charged $72. I'm taking what few pennies that I have left and going to find a new bank. I even deposited a check one morning at 9am so that some charges coming in the next day or two would be okay and they said the check would take 48 hours to clear so I got hit with $180 in late charges. It's a rip-off.

The cake-face, blond haired female, in particular, is the epitome of pure "evil." However, rather than go into a discourse about my experience with them, I will pose this question: "How can PNC Bank take a person's property and destroy it, when in fact it's not their property to take and destroy?" Nonetheless, the only "fact" that people need to be aware of is, when it comes to problem solving, neither of the two females were accommodating at all!

I honestly believe pnc is purposely inaccurate with their bank statements so people will overdraft their accounts.

NEVER BANK WITH SCUMS. I have banked with PNC for years now, YEARS...even opened my business accounts with them, and suggested to my mom to open with them. Last month (March 2017) I decided to use bill pay to pay my rent; the property management company is more than 40 miles (one way) from me and I didn't feel like dealing with traffic and using up gas so I figured this would be a win win situation. I initiated bill pay on 3/30, the soonest delivery option it gave was 4/5, which is the last day it can be taken so I figured this would be fine. I set it up and forgot about it. On 4/10 I get a call from my property management company saying that my rent was now 10 days PAST DUE resulting in a $130 last fee and that they had just received my check in the mail that day. WHAT??? I rebutted that I did bill pay WITH MY BANK, and that they would take care of this because I KNOW I was not late.

I immediately contacted PNC (my local branch) who was shocked to say the least. He went into the system and say that I was not at fault, that PNC did in fact pay the merchant in time and that they would take care of it. I waited to hear back from him. The next day, he called back and told me that I had every right to dispute this and that I would need to call the right department and file a CRIS dispute and all would be well. "Don't worry Ms **, we will make sure you don't come out looking like the bad guy here", he said. When I called the designated # to file the claim, the rep looked also into my complaint and uttered the same words as the branch Mngr, "Wow, I'm not sure how this happened but we will fix this as this was mailed off on 4/2, so there's no reason they just got it on the 10th. We will fix this right away".

The next day I get a call from my property management company stating that PNC contacted them and said that they don't cover "grace periods" so the fee would stand. I still needed to pay the fee right away. I was pissed. I called PNC right away and was transferred to the "Online Payments Dept". The guy starts talking about how bill pay is not really THROUGH PNC directly, but is actually through Fiserv, which has a policy that they don't do "grace periods", so anything AFTER the 1st is considered a GRACE PERIOD and they would not cover the fee.

Wait, so you're telling me that a system/feature you have on your website that you say is secure and trustworthy didn't perform as you promised it to do, which resulted in a fee for your customer and now you're telling me that you have no obligation to be responsible for it because your 3rd party company won't cover it, even though you originally took responsibility for it and said you'd fix it??? What part of the game is this? If this doesn't sound like the biggest crock of bs I've ever heard! Pissed I asked to speak to a manager but was on hold forever so I hung up but planned to get up and go to my local branch to have a sit down with the manager.

The next day I did just as planned, however en route there I get a call from the "Escalation Dept", I explain how crazy they sound by telling me they can do nothing. He goes in to basically repeat everything the online people said. I said, "I'm SURE there is something you can do?" Well, because Fisev won't cover it it really isn't. "Maybe you can take a letter to your management company and show them how you did initiate early and set up on time, but it was our system who errored?" "Well...if you can say all of that, why can't you cough up the $130 that I now have to pay, AND have to have on my payment history that I paid LATE, when I didn't." After my call with him, I still headed into the local branch (Union City, GA) to talk with Branch Manager. I took a copy of my lease agreement so that he could see that per my lease, the 5th was not a "grace period", but was in fact the allotted time for making payments.

He saw it and completely agreed that the lease did state differently than what PNC says Fiserv was told. He called my property management company (I guess he thought he could get a different answer, but I'm not sure what he thought would happen) and they shut him down. He hung up and was like "uuhh yea, they definitely are giving a hard time and are trying to make sure you pay". WELL DUH!! I was in tears in his office as I explained that this was not fair to me. I am single and have been saving up for my first home since the holidays. One of the base requirements for loan program I'm going through is that you have to be consistent with paying ALL BILLS ON TIME for at least 12 months. Now, WHY ON EARTH WOULD I PAY MY RENT LATE THE SAME MONTH I'M TO MEET WITH THEM FOR LOAN CONSIDERATION???

I did my due diligence and couldn't believe how my bank, PNC was leaving me out to the wolves. He then said, "Ok allow me to make a call and see if this can be fixed another way." I said, "If this is with bill pay save it because they will do nothing. It's sad that I am a customer who has been in good standing and this is how you treat me? I will be closing all my accounts today". He replied, no that he agreed and that he would try to go through a dept that handled Customer Relations to see they could get resolve. I stated that I know the banking industry, and that I'm aware PNC COULD fix this if they wanted to. They have funds designated to resolve customer issues for use WHEN THEY WANT TO. One week went by...nothing. I called the Manager the middle of the next week and said that the guy he reached out to was just getting back into the office and that he should hear something within a day or 2.

By Friday, no one was saying anything. On Friday I sent him an email reminding him the time sensitivity of this matter and how I would be needing something to show my innocence in the matter. Today is 4/24, I just received a call from the Branch Manager who sounded like a broken record with explanation. I called him out on him changing his story now, as before it was "PNC will help you" to, "well because Fiserv says it won't cover there is nothing more I can do." WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT FISERV??? I thought you were going through Customer RELATIONS??? Nope, he didn't. And then when I asked for some type of formal letter stating the bank error, he had the nerve to say, "Well, if we won't pay for it, we certainly can't give you anything in writing. I'm not sure what you expect from me".

You don't know what I expect from you??? How about actually STAND UP FOR YOUR CUSTOMER! How about do what you SAID YOU WOULD DO, and OWN your bank error!!! Smh I tell you, if a bank is OK with doing this to their own customers, there is no line of integrity for them. I have spent the whole day blasting them on twitter and will do so everyday for the next several weeks/months. I will be pulling ALL funds and closing both my personal and business accounts and so will my mother effective IMMEDIATELY. HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES.

I open a savings and checking account at PNC Bank. The rep say that they have good rates. I'm interested in buying a home. After a couple weeks my husband and I decided to go for it. We applied. Got pre-approved. We started looking for houses with our realtor. Was not able to find one to our liking so we decided to get an extension. The loan officer was nowhere to be found and the bank could not give me any information of where my paperwork and all my information was. This made me very pissed because how could you not know where the loan officer is. I called the head office. No one could give me an answer. Then finally realized that he had quit and my file was not with anyone. So...

They were trying to make it up to me by giving me a new loan officer, this means running my credit again and all that. They asked me for information as requested when getting a loan. They asked for the same thing 4 different times. They don't communicate with each other. It doesn't matter how much time you give them the information they asked for. They always ask it again. One week before my closing date they asked me to lock in an homeowner insurance. My realtor say you cannot lock-in an insurance unless you're sure you getting the house. Things they say they need my green card. I was like, "I gave it to you." It even got more weird when they call my husband asking him if he will be living in the house with me and called me asking me if my husband will be living with me. They even asked for marriage certificate.

4 days before the closing date my realtor asked the loan officer if he needs to put in for an extension so that if they need more time they will have it. He said, "No. You don't need to". 2 days before the closing date they send me a TEXT MESSAGE saying, "We PNC do not accept your green card. You green card must not have an expiration date". (Everyone know that a green have expired date on them.) The following day I had to asked for a denial letter to try save my $5000 earnest money that I had put down. When they finally sent me the denial letter they addressed it to me and not my husband and I. They also sent me a letter in the mail that they generate from March 22, 2017 mailed April 4, 2017. I got the letter April 7, 2017 the day I was to be closing for my house. PNC Bank is the worst. I will never recommend them or do business of any sort again.

Applied for a home equity installment loan. After a drawn out application process, our appraisal came back much lower than it should. Measurements which I watched the appraiser make were misreported, resulting in a reduction in our square footage of about 20%. The comps ranged from 217k to 240k and did not include the house next door which is the identical model which sold a month ago for 240k. The appraiser selected the lowest comp and arbitrarily assigned that value with no explanation as to why that house, which is significantly smaller than ours was selected.

When I pointed this out to the loan officer, he insisted on telling me multiple times that in order to change this, we would have to provide comps AND BLUEPRINTS for them to send to the appraisers and then maybe they might reconsider the valuation. I informed him that we had no blueprints and he repeated multiple times that I would have to obtain them.

Finally, trying to get rid of him because I needed to work, I told him I would send some if I could "pull them out of my ass". I don't make a habit of speaking this way to people I am trying to do business with, but as I mentioned, he kind of pressed my limits. I was pretty shocked when this statement was met with him feigning offense. Let's face it; you can't turn on the TV or walk through a local mall without hearing worse than this. After considering his offense further, I have come to the conclusion that this was simply a childish attempt to control the engagement by shaming the customer.

I asked my wife and co-applicant to call back and request a new loan officer be assigned due to our clear personality conflict. So a few days later I called back to learn the status. I was informed that the same person was still assigned to our application at which time I responded that if PNC would not honor my request for a new loan officer, I really did not want to continue dealing with them.

They then had another person call me to ask about the situation and repeat that in order to get them to reconsider the valuation, I would have to do the appraisers' job and include blueprints, which to my knowledge do not even exist. So I'm fed up at this point and having my vacation totally messed with because of trying to deal with these things, and then while answering her questions about my dealings with the other loan officer, I told her what I had said to him that had offended him - not as a direct statement to her, but as a quote; "I told **...". To my amazement, her reaction was identical; she attempted to shame me, admonishing me to not cuss at her because this was supposed to be a professional conversation.

Ok, again I didn't say anything that won't be heard 2-3 times per hour on prime time TV or much more frequently in public places, so this is clearly not a real offense but some contrivance apparently designed to control customer's behavior. And if PNC is using tactics such as this to control customer's behavior, then I suspect that they are using other tactics - like artificially low appraisals - to control their profit margins. Lucky for me, I don't NEED their money, my credit is excellent and every lender in town wants my business and I can be just as well off without the loan. I highly recommend AVOIDING PNC LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

He said he would look into it and call me back. He never did call so I called him and he had nothing but excuses. We looked at the screen together in his office and I showed him where the items were charged and he agreed. So the next day he wouldn't talk to me and put someone else on the phone. He faxed me a copy of my transaction page and it was not the page that we looked at. I asked him for a copy of that page and he wouldn't send it to me. They ended up taking over a hundred dollars from me in overdraft charges.

This is the second time this has happened within a month. I check my account twice a day. I look at my balance, look at my pending withdraws and my available balance and that's what I go by. I was told by the bank that I shouldn't depend on my available balance. They said I should keep a written ledger. Shouldn't your available balance be correct? This happened on the 13th of March. Now today is March 27 and I still have pending transactions from March 24.

Now I guess they are waiting to send all in at once again like they been doing. They said all banks do it this way. I talked to some of my coworkers who have different banks and they said they never have that problem. Even when I go to the bank to make a cash withdraw it shows pending for two days on my account. I made sure that the money was in the account at that time and they sent in five pendings at one time and it made me overdraft. I think it's time for me to look for a new bank and tell everyone I know to stay away from PNC.

PNC informed me that my account had been overdrawn due to a trial offer that had been charged to my card. They came up with all kinds of stipulations that weren't mentioned when I opted out and said I would have to pay overdraft fees. I told them I was not about to pay over 3000% of the original amount of the overdraft, especially when it should not have been processed. Why does such a Billion dollar bank abuse its customers this way. Why didn't they just pay out of their account??? Why charge me twice for their error. Let the insurance company they paid in error deal directly with the bank, why do I have to watch for that other insurance company to credit my escrow account for the payment they received in error. I find it shameful that a business take funds from me when, in essence, their processing procedures are inadequate, to say the least. To treat long time customers this way is tragic -- for their business anyway, for I can get over the $36 fee, but the disregard for my patronage is unacceptable.

Here is the thing with PNC Bank. They have a transaction processing system that is generated to charge me, the customer, a fee when there is no reason to do so. They do not allow the customer even a minor time period to monitor and correct their account's ever fluctuating balance because they want to charge fees and grow their bottom line. As a customer of PNC for over 25 years, I will find another banking institution soon. Until then, this aware and dissatisfied customer will refrain from using their products very much.

Never get a custodial account for your child. Presently, my family and I have an 18-year-old living with us due to her unfortunate home life. She moved in with us several months ago and told us that she was having trouble accessing money from her PNC account. Her account was set up when she was younger, and now that she is age of majority in Maryland, which is 18, she should be able to have access to her own money. Well, she has no access.

This young lady has saved thousands of dollars through her great job at Chick-fil-A, and her family will not let her withdraw any of it. She is trying to register for classes at the community college, by a car, and has no access to this money because her family won't let her. In fact, after speaking with someone at the home office, they said her father could spend every dime and she would have no rights to her money. All of her money is traceable through her job paychecks, and I would like to know what kind of bank would set up a custodial account for a child that even though they become age of majority, they could never access their money? She could be 95 years old and still not be allowed to touch her account!!!

I am grateful that I have never banked at PNC, would never set up an account like that for my own children, and would recommend parents not set up accounts like this for their children. We are crippling our country's youth by not teaching them how to manage life on their own. Thank goodness this young lady has now set up a new bank account, with a new bank, and started new savings for herself. Shame on PNC for having accounts like this and shame on her parents for getting her set up in it. If I could give zero stars or negative stars to this company I would do it.

My wife called to close our son's savings account, which was a completely separate account and account number from our own account. The PNC rep required extensive verification of my son's account information, including speaking to my son and verifying all his vital information. At no time did the PNC rep get my wife and I's account number, SSN or any information regarding our account with PNC. Upon finally closing my son's account the rep stated "I've gone ahead and closed both accounts and you should receive a check in the mail for the balances within a couple days".

My wife quickly inquired as to "both accounts", at which time she learned that the PNC rep had also closed our checking account as well. My wife corrected the PNC rep and stated that there should only be one account closed for our son and to please re-open our checking account. The rep repeatedly stated that he could not stop the account from closing and that we would need to re-open the account in person by signing a new agreement, plus wait for the balance of our account to come by check and then re-deposit it into our account. Furious, my wife asked to speak to a manager. Upon speaking with the manager, the manager reiterated the same thing and even told me the same thing when I called a few minutes later to inquire.

Now I am forced to take time off of work in order to drive to the nearest PNC branch office (25 minutes away one way), sign our names again in order to re-open an account that we didn't wish to close, plus wait days to receive our account balance check in the mail, then have to redeposit those funds in order to refund our account and hope that none of our bills go overdue or unpaid! Unbelievable that with all the computer advancements we have today we actually have to wait longer and be more inconvenienced than if I had to ride my damn horse down to the bank in the year 1817! I will be depositing my check and my future banking business in another institution other than PNC upon closing my account once this is resolved! Terrible customer service and terrible business processes!

I had 30K SkyMiles I wanted to redeem before the December 28, 2016 deadline. I called the 800 number and talked to a representative who told me to go ahead and purchase an airline ticket before the end of December and the SkyMiles would show up as a credit on my December statement. This did not happen. I have spent several hours and numerous phone calls trying to get the SkyMiles credit, but to date it is still unresolved. When I asked the customer service rep what she was doing to help resolve my problem, she rudely informed me that she "was not going to disclose what we do internally." And that I was "not her only customer." How's that for customer service?

PNC has not upheld their end of the SkyMiles agreement and I cannot get an answer from customer service as to why the miles were not redeemed in December, or where the miles total can be located. I have redeemed Sky Miles in the past with no problem, but now, with the termination of the program, I feel PNC has somehow screwed up on their end and will not offer me an explanation. I have been a customer of PNC for many, many years, but have decided to move my business to another bank as a result of this debacle.

When I sign in to PNC few years ago, I asked if they have office/branch in the capital area of LA, I was told yes. Few months later, we were in LA, drove over 2 hours looking for their branch posted on their website. Finally we learned that there was none. Last year, I came to the office, checking the rate of a property loan. Without my permission, the officer hard pulled my credit report. I went to different branch talking to a very good officer (he is no longer there), he suggested to get a credit card instead since the damage cannot be reversed. I got my son to apply a rental property loan with PNC. A commercial or loan officer insist my son to be present for all the signing. Few days later, he got a message saying that they don't do that type of loan anymore. The uninformed loan officer cost my son's a day of work for he is self-employed.

I filed a complaint but not publicly, hoping that PNC can used the feedback to improve their service. To my surprise, few weeks later, I received a letter basically saying, I was mistaken on all of my complaint. I cannot believe it. I did a online external withdraw to pay my loan, I did twice, my mistake. However, I cannot remove it. I called, no help. I visited the local office, I was told I must do it online by myself. I was very upset for I have spend more than 3 hours try to get one transfer removed via their website. I insist on talking to a officer. Then I was told they are short handed and will call me the next day to set up appointment. 4 or so days passed. No one called. I went to the same branch again, insist on talking to the officer to get it resolved. Somehow, she got it down. Removed all of the external transfer.

I then used void check for the same loan payment via my other bank. Somehow, there were two withdraws. Could be my mistake. I went to an office: "you have to do it online. nothing I can do". "Can I withdraw $700 due to extra money transfer for I don't have debit card". The answer: "yes, there will be $7 plus". That is, without debit card, if I want to draw money from my account, I must pay $7 plus; if I want to get the debit card, I still need to pay $7 plus. Lose lose proposition. Please don't send me any letter. I will pay off the loan in few month.

I accidently transferred money to a ZERO balance credit card that was meant to be transferred to my checking account so that I could purchase airfare. As soon as I realized what happened, I called customer service to cancel the transfer. They "were unable to do so" because it was not a business day per customer service. I called back on Monday and was told at that time there was nothing that could be done besides requesting a reversal on the transfer which takes 10!!! business days.

I just called customer service today (9) days after this request and was told that the reversal was never requested on 1/23 and the only thing that they could do for me was to request a reversal today!!! So right back to square one where I have to wait 10 days to have MY money returned to my account with no way to expedite this request even though I had requested this reversal 9 days ago!!! This customer service is ridiculous!!! How could it be that difficult to return my $600 to my account that is also a PNC account. It's not like I paid a different credit card with that money, it literally was transferred within the SAME company. My husband and I will be pulling our money from PNC immediately and never return. I had this account to pay for my tuition with Penn State and keep using it for my salary and paying back my family student loans. On a Friday I scheduled a Popmoney payment but got a nice new apartment application on the following Saturday. I stopped the payment to my family before it went out, and on their Popmoney page they claim the money will be back in 2 business days. I woke up on Tuesday morning the money still paid out instead of staying on my account or coming back. Now I'm over-drafting. I called and the answer from whomever picked up my phone is, "Popmoney payment will be back within 3-4 business days, this is also in your confirmation email from us. Your money will be back tomorrow as we tried our best." Nice, then I filled in a customer complaint asking them updating their stupid misleading website about the 2 business days promise.

This morning, I woke up, guess what, no money coming back. I called, the answer is tomorrow again. Meanwhile I wrote a paycheck to USCIS as $380 dollars and the payment I cancelled is $400. Now even the $400 comes back it's not enough to cover the $380 check anymore because they charged me extra $36, so either they pay for the check and charge me again, or USCIS got a bounce check, which I want to avoid. Ok, I will have to let you charge me again. Nice move. Why your overdraft didn't happen the same way like 3-4 business days, at least 2 business days later? I'm leaving, say for sure. I would give ZERO stars, but it made me choose at least one. On Saturday January 14th PNC Bank on 13th street in Gainesville, Florida refused to cash a check off of my business account because the teller was "teaching me a lesson" (HER words, NOT mine). It is my business account and I was trying to cash a check I wrote to myself for cash.

I also was on my 4th trip to this branch to sign a paper so that I could transfer money between my business and personal accounts. I drive 33.7 miles ONE way to go to this bank, 67.4 miles round trip, and this was my fourth time calling ahead and being told to come and they would do it, just to get there and be told they are too busy and can't do it. I told her that I would be closing my accounts since I had been making trips since October to get this done and they were still not doing it. She did not like what I had to say and told me until I would sit down and listen to her, she was not going to cash my check. She handed the check back and told me to call the 800 line. I went outside and called the number and told them that the teller was refusing to cash my check. They looked over my account and said there was absolutely NO reason for her not to cash it. They told me to go back inside and cash it.

I walked back into the branch and went to a DIFFERENT teller and told her to either cash it or close both accounts, but I needed my money. The first teller walked over and told the second teller that no one else but her is allowed to help me. I then asked on several different occasions that they close both my business and personal accounts. The teller refused. She would not let me get any money out of my account. I immediately called back to the 800 line and the representative tried to call the branch and tell them to cash it, but the branch had already closed. She then filed a formal complaint with their retail escalation department and assured me that someone would contact me Tuesday January 17th.

On the 17th I called to the branch and spoke to the branch manager and explained everything to her. I also informed her that this was not our first problem with this account. I had already been banking with PNC for some time, but had never used this particular branch, I was told that this branch is the only one who can do anything with a business account. It seemed strange to me that I could only use one certain branch, but I scheduled the appointment anyway and decided I would just start using that branch. I had an appointment set up to open my business account and arrived at the bank just to be told that the only lady working at the bank that deals with business accounts did not come to work because her kid was sick.

Second red flag, I can only use one branch and one certain banker for my business account. And she did not even bother to call and tell me not to come! She let me drive over 30 miles one way and she was not there. So, I got very upset and another banker helped me. He did not know what he was doing to set the account up, could barely answer any of my questions, and continually had to keep calling the lady that did not show up and ask her questions. If he called and she did not answer, we had to sit and wait for her to call back. It took me almost 3 hours just to open a checking account. He assure me that this is not normal practice for them and it would not be like this all the time. He also said that I had to come back and see the business account lady when she was available so we could discuss what type of account I needed and make sure the one he opened would work for me.

She finally called me over a week later, and did not discuss anything about my account being the right one for my business. I called and made a complaint and they assured me that from then on I would get the help I need with my account. At this point, over a week later, my husband still did not have his debit card. We had received the pin number, but not the card. He drives a semi truck and has to go all over the country, he needed his card to pay for fuel and expenses. I called the 800 line to ask about the card and was told that the banker who opened the account had never ordered the card in the first place. So I asked to please get it ordered because my husband had to have it for work. They said they couldn't do it and I had to go to the branch.

So, another trip to the branch. Once again, the only lady in the branch who can handle business accounts was not at work. She was sick. So I told the same person who opened my account that he did not order my husband's debit card. He seemed amused about it and said he would order one. My husband asked for someone to speak to us about our account because he had a few questions, we were told that they couldn't answer them, we would have to come back and speak to the lady who handles business accounts. The same lady who is never there.

Finally, another week passes, and my husband's card came. But, we still did not have the new pin number. We called the 800 number to get them to assign a pin so my husband could leave (He was loaded and had to be in Indiana the next day) and they told they can't give him a pin, he has to wait for it in the mail. He explained that this is his business account, he had to use it to pay for fuel, and he was loaded and had to go. They told him to just use it as credit. He explained that he was not using it as credit because truck stops charge a higher fuel price if you use credit. The guy told him again, just use it as credit anyway.

My husband finally said "Ok then, if I ran it as credit are you going to pay the 20 cents a gallon difference that it will cost me?" The guy asked what he meant and my husband said, "it costs 20 cents per gallon more if I use credit. It saves me 20 cents per gallon to use debit." The guy then told him he was sorry but he couldn't do it. So my husband told him to set an appointment because he was on the way to the branch to close the account and get his money. The guy then told my husband that wouldn't be necessary, and he went ahead and set the pin number up.

From that time until now, I have made 4 trips to that branch to sign the paper to be able to transfer between my two accounts and still did not get it done. It is now Wednesday the 18th and NO ONE, NO ONE at all from PNC has called me to discuss this! I called their Corporate Head Quarters and the lady I spoke to told me that I was wasting my time because the teller was within her rights, that PNC doesn't cash checks.

I said "ma'am, I have cashed MANY MANY MANY checks at PNC". She told me No I haven't, because they don't do that. I said "So, you're calling me a liar?" She said, "we don't cash checks". I said, "it is MY CHECK WRITTEN TO ME!" She said "we only deposit checks". I said "number one, I have cashed more checks than I can count at PNC, so stop calling me a liar and number 2, how can I deposit a check into the same account it is written on? So, I write the check and deposit into the same exact account I wrote it off of then I can get my money?" SHE SAID YES! I can NOT believe that she thinks that is possible and she is the banker!! Please do NOT EVER use PNC for any reason at all! They DO NOT care about their customers!!!

I use to really love this bank, but lately they have turned into a greedy, vampire company. First I noticed a few months ago they hired new people for their over the phone customer service. Every time I called I would be told something different. When I explained to them I had done the process that I was calling for several times, I would get different answers. One CS person told me that I should not have been able to complete my process in the past. She stated that they weren't allowed to do that and that she was going to file a complaint against the CS Reps that allowed that Process. (Never ever heard this said from an employee at this banking company.)

Fast forward a month later I had paid my online bills one day, well they held payments for over a week. They gave the excuse that since it was during the holidays my bills were held from being paid. I made a few purchases and the next day I get an email saying I had overdraft fees. I'm like what, I have money in my account. When I go to check, my account was an -$150. They had applied four overdraft fees. I called them about this and they had paid some bill that just came in from a while ago and paid the remaining bills.

So every time a bill or payment went through they penalized me $36. I had a fit and they refused to give me any of the one back when it was their mistake and their laziness that caused the issue. On top of that every day my account is negative. They take $7 from it daily until it's no longer negative. I'm beyond pissed at this greedy bank now and am in the process of closing all accounts with them. This is a shame and should be illegal when they are holding my money and taking it as well.

My December 2016 PNC statement shows they will start charging me $7.00 on June 1, 2017 for my Virtual Wallet account which I have had for several years. A couple of years ago this was waived if I didn't use services inside the bank and only ATMs and my phone. Not anymore. Now essentially I am paying to use those services if I don't keep $500 in my account. In December I had more than $500 in my account, but had to use it for other purposes with the intention of replacing it this month (January 2017). PNC didn't give me that chance. They charged me the $7 prior to receiving my December statement without any notice in previous statements. I find this unethical and it should be illegal.

I talked to someone in a PNC branch and they were clueless and could not tell me anything about it. Even the branch manager had no idea what I was talking about. Unfortunately I did not bring a copy of my statement with me. Why are they charging this fee when it is now January not June? PNC is all about the almighty buck. As soon as I get my direct deposits switched over I'm getting rid of them. I'm tired of them changing their policies on a whim.

PNC Bank compare them to Check N Go. They are outrageous much worse than Check N Go. Told me if I made payments on my overdraft for 6 months. My overdraft protection would be reinstated. Then that changed to 1 year. Overdraft protection active but PNC never allows it. Recently they told me it will be OK when I pay it all off. They have collected approximately $ 3500 in 2016, for overdraft. Obviously I have an income and an ability to pay these overdrafts. They charge their fees at 10 PM and deposits are made at midnight. Maximize costs to customer. PNC's algorithm for loans is predatory. Unfortunately too many banks use that algorithm. I will survive, but this gangster algorithm should be unlawful. Payment history should be weighted more than maximizing profits. PNC specifically & American Banks in general have taken advantage of laws to strangle American Families.

I would rate no stars if that were an option, very dissatisfied is way too nice for my experience with PNC. I have been a customer of PNC since they bought out my previous bank. All in all been with bank 28 years. PNC is notorious for overdraft charges. I do all my bill pay online and they pay bills before the scheduled pay date. The last bill was paid 5 days in advance. On other occasions they will hide payments that are pending and then they appear. They also don't pay other bills until you are ready to overdraft. As a test, I logged on at 11:58 and saw no withdraw. I logged off and back on after 11:59 and they cashed a check (one minute before midnight that wasn't even in my records to be paid out. They claimed the payee cashed the check. At 11:59? I don't think so. They also have done this at 9:59 when you need to make deposits prior to 10 PM to count for that day. I am done with PNC, really long overdue.

I think customer courtesy and loyalty goes a long way and they don't have either. Consumers are way smarter with many more options today. I am switching banks, moving to credit union. It is appalling the theft and the lack of protection consumers have. By the way, I have a small business account with a significant balance (over $400,000 balance) that I am switching to another bank. They didn't care about me but they seemed to care about my business account.
