    Sofi does not operate like a real bank. The customer service is below par, and you are not treated as a human. They hold your money 3 times longer for pending transactions, are completely unprofessional on calls (laughing at customers) and have NO escalation process. This 24 billion dollar bank will not escalate your concerns or inability to access your money. You have two levels of of support - a person answering the call, and an account manager. Apparently that account manager is the only one who can help you. Two levels of accountability. Don't trust your money with a so called bank that gives you no way to resolve problems. It is a serious matter if you can't access all your money, and no one can help you.

    I had $1950 stolen out of my account. Sofi refuses to give me back my money. They say they are not responsible if someone gets my account credentials and my password, or if it is guessed, or given away. I use biometrics to log in and don't even know my own password word. Basically they are telling me I'm responsible for keeping my money safe in their bank. They are FDIC insured. So they aren't out any money if they give me back my money. They tell me I need to provide proof but won't tell me what proof I need to provide. I've given them my contact list to prove I don't know the people who stole my money but they continue to deny my request to have my money returned. I have filed a report with the FBI and the fdic. I hope someone can talk since I to this stupid bank. I just want my money back and then I am closing my account. I'm so angry.

    This is the worst company for student loans. Signed documents 4 times and still says I need to sign, even after it tells me congratulations, we'll take it from here. 3 weeks into loan still in same place with loan. I would recommend finding a different company. Never had this many issues with a loan company. Will never use them again.

    Signing up for this bank was the worst experience of my life, they made sure I wasn’t eligible for anything and here we are four years later still trying to delete my account. They won’t let me deactivate the service, you can barely login when you use the browser, and when you call on the phone, they make it impossible to call for anything unless you have an active loan. In addition to that if you look At your least passwords and information in your phone or other websites that show you where there’s been data leaks, SoFi has ridiculously high data leaks in addition to the fact that they automatically opt you into sharing all of your information. A large amount of my information that has been shared has come from Sofi.

    I want to share my frustrating experience with SoFi. I transferred approximately $27,000 from my PayPal account to my SoFi account. Initially, everything seemed fine, but a week later, I received a call informing me that my account had been restricted. They claimed that the name on my PayPal account didn’t match the name on my SoFi account.

    I informed them that I just wanted to transfer the money to another account, and they said they couldn’t do that because they needed to verify my identity. I provided all the necessary documents: my ID, bills, and statements from my other PayPal account. They confirmed that the information was valid, so I initiated a transfer to my Chase account.

    A month later, I was shocked when Chase informed me that SoFi had withdrawn the money back to SoFi. When I contacted SoFi, they told me that the transaction was reversed because it was deemed insufficient. They explained that the representative who helped me wasn’t authorized to complete the transaction, and a supervisor reversed it.

    Now, I’m stuck without my money. SoFi still has my $27,000, and they claim the information I provided is insufficient. I asked them to refund me or decline the deposit back to PayPal, but they refused, saying I need to dispute it with PayPal. PayPal can’t do anything because the transaction was processed with a verified account.

    SoFi essentially has my money held hostage, and I’ve been unable to resolve this issue for two months. Communication with the fraud department has been abysmal. The representative doesn’t reply to my emails, and I can never reach him by phone. This experience has been incredibly stressful, and I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with SoFi. Their customer service and handling of this situation have been nothing short of a nightmare.

    I did not receive my direct deposit it was supposed to be deposited on yesterday and nothing. Non-holiday pay day is on Thursday and still no check but tomorrow is actually Friday. I received no direct deposit and no notification of why and no customer service. Tomorrow I will express my concern about this issue. This is humanly wrong.

    Wow where do I even start! I've been with SoFi a little over a month and I thought highly enough to recommend them to a couple of family members. I started investing I started to have direct deposit and I thought Sophie was starting to be better than Capital One which I think that for 31 years. The other day I dropped my phone in the ocean as I am traveling on my sailboat and I had to cut the bank to have them switch to phone number to my wife's phone so I can have access to my account that was done and everything was running smooth.

    3 hours ago for no reason whatsoever at the store at the register trying to pay for groceries my debit card was declined twice. I went to look at my phone and it said my account was restricted because I may or may not have violated their terms. What the hell does that mean may or may not? That means, "Maybe you did maybe you didn't. I don't care. Either way we're going to restrict your account." I called them and informed them that all my money was in their account and I cannot have my account restricted as I am $2,553 Mi away from home on an island and the only access of cash that I have is on their debit card. I am with my wife my daughter and my 7-month-old grandbaby. The customer service rep didn't care and told me I just had to wait and she couldn't give me a date to when it would be resolved.

    I said, "A date? No no you don't understand! You need to tell me you don't have a time as in how many hours is it going to take to correct this problem." Again she really said, "You're just going to have to wait, We can't give you a date," I replied, "I don't think you understand. If you restrict my account my family which is a family of four is going hungry tonight because we have no way to buy food. Tomorrow we will have no housing 2500 miles away from home and I can't even get back because my money is in that bank." The lady still responded, "Well I can't help you. We're just going to have to wait. Just log on your account every now and then and see when the restriction has been removed." I said, "Do you have children? Because why not let me have access to your account so that I can restrict it so your children can go hungry tonight. I don't think you understand what you are doing to my family. You are putting a homeless and hungry."

    Needless to say they didn't give a crap. Once again said, "You just going to have to wait. Too bad," and hung up the phone. Now I'm in panic mode because I have a 7-month-old who has enough formula to last until morning. We have enough food on the sailboat to last 2 days and we have to leave the marina tomorrow because we can no longer pay to stay.

    Thank you Sofi. As soon as you restrict this account I'm immediately pulling all of my money all of my stocks out of there as I've already set up my direct deposit back to Capital One and my wife is now trying to figure out how to pull all her money out of the account on them in the middle of Washington State exactly 2,553 Mi away from home. Good job!! I will be looking for a lawyer in the morning and I'm going to see if I can sue these Crooks who have hijacked my money for $10,000 a day that my family goes hungry.

    My girlfriend referred both me and my dad to Sofi, but none of us got our promo. We called them and had an amazingly terrible experience with their customer service. We spent days dealing with them since we also had to try to get them to forgive their ATM reimbursement fees, which they explicitly advertised not having when my girlfriend signed up and didn't mention when they took it away. None of their customer service would do anything for us. They were polite and agreed that it was misleading and that some of the details that caused us to miss the promos were things nobody would ever read. We lost money on the ATM fees and felt lied to by the promos, so we're gonna go to an honest bank.

    My family was a SoFi family since they began, but they got really greedy after they went public, and we have since left SoFi. That's 4 customers they lost. Their customer service is extremely poor. They could have kept us if they would have paid us the $250 in referral bonuses we earned and had been clearer about SoFi Checking not having the same ATM fee reimbursement feature as SoFi Money did, resulting in another $35 in ATM fees. That's less than $300, and they are willing to let go of loyal customers for that.

    I was a customer of Sofi for about 3 years because they seemed to offer products and features that were better than standard brick-and-mortar banks and above average interest. That was until I had a major issue and I realized how unhelpful this company's support department is. Recently, $8k was stolen from Sofi my account. The person who did this opened fraudulent accounts in my name and then pulled the funds from my Sofi savings.

    I contacted Sofi and after numerous calls, it was impossible to get them to do anything besides tell me the fraudulent charges were not an error and they wouldn't help me. They locked my account and wouldn't provide a timeline or transfer me to a manager and now they have closed my account saying it was a business decision because I violated the terms, when in fact some criminal violated their terms. I was traveling internationally and had no access to my remaining funds for more than 25 days. Their support department, which uses call centers in Asia or India, was completely unhelpful and not empowered to solve any major issue. It was a complete nightmare dealing with them and I don't wish this on anyone.

    SoFi has to be one of the worst banks I have ever dealt with in my life, especially their investment side after trying to move all my money out of SoFi. They charged me fees to move my IRAs my brokerage accounts out of SoFi. For a bank that’s supposed to have no fees, they sure got one over on me. If anyone asked me about SoFi I would tell them to run. Sofi is not worth it. Yeah they pay in high APY but that’s how they trap you inside the bank. I’m going back to Bank of America and I am not looking back.

    I recently opened a savings and checking accounts. I deposited 100k in the savings. I applied for their cash back Master card and was immediately declined. I have a 828 FICO, 795 Trans Union and 799 Equifax credit scores. Over 290k in different bank deposits. I've worked years to keep excellent credit. I'm 66 yrs old and never turned down for a loan nor credit. Apparently they don't care about your credit just the number and type of transaction you've made. After years of work building and maintaining excellent credit SoFi just slapped me in the face. Your financial efforts mean nothing to them

    Someone tried to hack my account. I completed all verify ID checks successfully. Informed them that I need access to my money or I will be evicted with my wife and child. Still no relief. This is 5 days.

    I filed a dispute in September of 2023 and this same dispute is been updated times without number. Whenever I called, the bank would promise to get back to me in 48 to 72 hour. Nothing was done despite the proof was sent to the customer service email, and also the link of the the customer service I spoke to. Only for me to call today, 01/13/2024, and I was informed they're about to review the information provided in Sept of.2023; what a shame. I had to stop my direct deposit from been paid into Sofi, because it's the worst bank on earth to deal with. I'm so annoying, because I've never had to deal with this when I was banking with Capital One Bank. I had to take a 360 turn back to Capital One before it's too late, and I'm loving my Capital everyday. Shame on you Sofi Bank...

    One of the worst experiences I ever had with a bank. I opened an account with SoFi in February of 2023. Things immediately didn't go according to plan. They mailed my debit card to a wrong address, acknowledged it upon me notifying them, but refused to rectify the situation to make it right. This gave me pause initially, but a few months later, I decided to give them another shot. I linked my other accounts for easy transfers, ordered another debit card and started depositing my paychecks.

    On December 29th, SoFi froze my accounts for no apparent reason. When I contacted them, the representative stated that I needed to verify my identity by scanning in an ID and taking a selfie, which I did. It is now January 3rd. My accounts are still frozen and when I call the bank, they refuse to tell me what the issue is or when it is going to be resolved. They simply state that I need to wait and hang up the phone. Stay away if you don't want to loose sleep wondering what is happening to your money.

    I was left unable to access any funds from my savings over the weekend, I tried to use an ATM and it kept stating insufficient funds when clearly I had money in my account, I contact Sofi today only to be shocked by the chat rep who stated that, "The debit card is NOT linked to your savings! So you cannot access your money unless you transfer it to your checking first??" How inconvenient is that? Then she tells me they DO NOT have that written anywhere to advise clients when they first open an Acct!

    I deposited a birthday check for 4k from my Aunt. SoFi froze my account stating possible "fraudulent activity". I gave them my Aunt's phone number to verify check. That was the only information they wanted and only reason given for freezing account. It has been over 5 days that my account has been frozen. By law, banks can only hold checks for 5 days. By freezing the account for fraudulent activity, they can keep frozen indefinitely. So they are holding my whole account frozen over this one deposit. They won't provide any guidance on how long this will last. It's absolutely ridiculous that they can get around the law this way.

    I had a bank account with them for probably nearly a year, had disputes I filed 4 months in a row with them telling me that it wouldn't be a problem and that they had everything they needed. I filed a police report and sent it to them. There was multiple disputes and they kept denying them saying that no error occurred and were supposed to send me what they used to come to their conclusion but never did except for on two of the disputes which what they used was the card number was the card number of the physical card, that the pin number was correct, and that I had been issued four cards in a short amount of time. They did not even look at the police report, they refused to explain to me how the physical card was used when it was in the mail for 2 weeks for each card sent and the rest of the time in my wallet.

    They failed to mention that your digital debit card that goes into your digital wallet has the same card number as your physical card. And that all you have to do is get access to the mobile app and you can change the pin number with no issue and all it takes to get into the app is be able to get in the lock screen of a phone. They told me that my disputes I would have to go file claim in small claims court to get any of my money back because they've been too long for them to open it back up but never actually did their job. Did not get any emails from the dispute team which supposedly only get a hold of you through email. They never answered any of my questions. And one time I was told by customer service that the police report is not good enough document to sustain any claims that you didn't spend your money.

    They do not do any kind of leg work on this, take their sweet time and deny claims anyway and in the end closed my account saying that I requested it and couldn't tell me how exactly I requested it if I still had open claims so I would suggest do not use them. Your money is not safe and they don't really care. They will tell you everything you want to hear to get you off the phone and will hang up on you, be rude as can be. I spent over 8 hours a day for a week straight trying to get answers on to why and how and what they needed to actually get my money back in my account but just kept getting the runaround and filed multiple complaints. At least 15 of them for the way my disputes were being handled since I felt they were not being handled correctly and nobody was really doing anything. Nobody would answer my questions.

    I sent multiple emails to the dispute team asking questions pertaining to my account and the disputes to never get an answer back. I requested what documents they used to support their claims and deny my disputes. They sent me two of them out of probably 20 with the only things then using was they say the card number was used or the physical card was used in person but couldn't tell me what the difference between the physical card and the digital card was being they're the same number. I had to reset my pin multiple times because it was saying wrong PIN when I did try to use the card so I don't understand how exactly someone else can gain access that easy end of the account and have it where I can't spend my money and have to jump through hoops to get my money but they didn't have to do anything.

    I guess to get my money and nobody even second guess that nor did they put a stop to it after the first month. It kept happening for 3 more months and it was completely nightmare of an experience and I would not wish that on my worst enemy. They don't care. They don't listen and you can spend eight hours a day on the phone with them and it doesn't change anything. Nobody knows what's going on. The customer service says they can't do nothing so they send it up to the manager. The manager still can't do nothing and there's nobody over them and they won't give you any answers on how to go forward with anything. They just say that they can't answer that and hang up on you usually.

    I finally resorted to filing a complaint with the FDIC since they have nobody regulating them obviously in their company that you can talk to. The dispute team does not do any investigation but get away with it. You can file multiple complaints. Like I said I filed 15 of them and nothing was still done. They couldn't even tell me what the results of them were. They also proceeded to tell me that my police report was not good enough for my disputes. It wasn't a good enough document which I don't know what would be better than a police report if you did not do it so in result of all this was I'm out over $1,000 and waste the police department's time since the bank doesn't even pursue anything or attempt to get your money back.

    They also promise things like the bonus you get when you sign up and all that they said I didn't qualify for it but I did qualify for it. The account that I had to open was not the one that I tried to open. It was nightmare on that too. I ended up having to use an email that was not my original account with them but that was the one that they made me sign everything up with and blew off the $10 that I had on my account that I was trying to sign up with so I would suggest to anybody go elsewhere. So not waste your time with this. They will leave you sadly disappointed.

    Went to deposit a money order into my personal checking account. I followed the instructions on their FAQ page on how to properly do so. I go to use my debit card the next day only to find out that they froze and restricted my account, on a Saturday and a holiday weekend. They wont tell me anything as to why it's happening or how long it will take. I even told them that I could send them pictures to prove it was me and this mystery could be solved and I could have access to my money. They dont care that they leave customers without access to their own money to pay bills, put gas in their cars, buy groceries. It's way more than the "inconvenience" they keep apologizing for. It's absolutely ridiculous and I will be emptying and closing my account the minute they lift the freeze.

    They have over $30,000 of social security checks on hold for a week. No good explanation. Cannot talk to anyone at a manager level. Horrible customer service - all calls are diverted to a Risk call center judging by the accents is offshore? I own/owned stock in the company so left multiple messages at investor relations number and no reply either? Lastly, I custom messaged their Chief Risk Officer, Aaron ** from LinkedIn so his team could see my resume (ironicly I have sold alarm systems to banks) and nothing. I want my account fixed ASAP or funds immediately returned and an apology from a high level and assurances changes will be made for future customers.

    My account has been frozen since September 4th after a big purchase I made for a little over $500. I have spoke with customer service and the security team several times about this matter to ensure them it was my account and that it was me who made the purchases. They tell me they sent an email to whomever it is working on my account. They say the same thing and give me the run around every time I call. I have Done several verification checks. My license are expired. They have been. I opened the account with the expired license. I also have the receipt for my license renewal. It takes 10-14 business days to receive a license through the mail where I live. What I have done and sent is legally enough for verification.

    I am knowledgeable about the legal rights of a banking customer. I am about to become homeless after today. My car is about to be repossessed tomorrow. I am unable to survive without my money. I am unable to eat. I don't have family or friend to run to for financial assistance. I'm to the point of contacting an attorney about this matter. I have literally gone 2 full days with nothing to eat and my car is on empty. I have done all the necessary request they have asked for. This has gone like this long enough. I have sent my attached license as well as my renewal receipt for my license for the third time today. This is the worst bank experience I've ever had and will be closing it.

    Made a bill payment on 6/29/2023, the funds were taken out, because it was a check to be mailed the payee would receive it on 7/7/2023. No payment was mailed the 29th or the 30th. The payment just processed on 7/7/2023, not mailed. I have a screenshot stating the payment would be received by the payee by 7/7/2013.

    I have cancelled any bill payment due to this scam. Payment made with debit card goes through instantly. I was told by representative a bill payment can take up to 10 business days, 14 days. While my screenshot from the bank regards to my bill payment makes a promise of 8 days, not business days, yet the rep says it was just processed on July 7th. SoFi is holding your funds to collect interest and then sends it off.

    I called in & was told they can see my referral & that if my bonus doesn't hit by Friday, which is today, then to call in or text. So my referral & I called in separately & was told he met the requirements & they will add it in my checking account. Still nothing today. Then I talked to an agent & he told me I had to have the referral call in AGAIN to verify he met the requirements. So sick of of the run-around. I'm about to switch to another bank come Monday morning. My referrals all said the same as well.

    I opened an account 2 months ago. I called several times to get the welcome bonus, the manager told to not worry and the bonus was on his way, after making multiple verifications for 20 minutes. I called today, they said it was denied. They gave me shady reasons. How can I trust a bank company that struggles to give $50 welcome bonus. So, my wife also closed her account today.

    I started with a personal loan and they gave me the most affordable monthly payment so I could consolidate some expenses and debt to be able to take on a car payment. Recently I discovered my bank was taking $5 a month out of my small savings because I needed to use some of the money and dropped the balance down. Apparently it costs more to maintain less money in a traditional bank.

    I saw SoFi had no fees, no balance requirement and paid you a higher interest rate in their Savings and Checking so I switched. Everything was easy through the app and have had no problems. Even the checks are free. Not only that, I earn 4.00 interest on my Savings balance and 1.20 on my checking balance no matter how low it is. Plus with the round up feature, it makes it easy to save money automatically. Plus you earn points just by doing normal banking stuff that you do anyway that can be redeemed as money in your account. One point equals a penny, but it adds up. It seems my old bank punished you for having a low balance by making it lower.

    I set up a direct deposit with SoFi from my employer for my paycheck. There was a mistake in the account number I type in wrong... an extra 3. The routing number was correct and I have proof from my employer that the ACH went to SoFi. I have given SoFi the ACH data and trace number. But SoFi says they can't find the transaction and can't help me. My employer needs the ACH returned before they will reissue the paycheck... SoFi got the money according to the ACH record.... but they "can't find it"! The customer service is so limited that every time I put in a ticket, they say "Sorry, but we can't help."

    It is impossible to get in contact with an ACH manager or someone with more experience or access than the call center helpers. SoFi is ok until it isn't.. which if you have any problem, you are in call center hell and no one will help you. This back and forth has been going on since October 2022. Maybe time to get a lawyer... maybe then someone will talk to me.

    I set up my SoFi checking account on February 2nd and added several thousand dollars to it. I got my direct deposit (paycheck) sent to the account and set it as default for all of my credit card payments. Then, today (Feb 28th), they emailed me to say that they had closed it and that they would send me a check with my $7000 in 30 days. I called them but they would not tell me the reason for the closure, and they said they could not reopen it. I have no idea why this happened or why I have to wait 30 days to get my money back. I would recommend using a regular bank account and not relying on SoFi for anything important.

    I have been with this bank since 2018 and had no little issue until late last year when my car was broken into and got my wallet, with ID, ssn card and Sofi checks because I was starting a new job the next day and needed all that for onboarding. I reported this to then bank so no checks got cashed and get new debit cards but didn't insist on closing the account and getting new acct number just kept the old one. Fast forward to this past month, and my acct gets frozen without warning or phone call or email, was at Walgreens trying to get a battery and prescription for my diabetes filled. Called their lovely Fraud department and said fraudulent check back in October was cashed, which was news to me, and the account was locked and nothing they could do about it.

    Investigator calls back and offers no sympathy accusing me of being a criminal, and I was like I reported my ID and checkbook compromised 4 months ago, did not make the fraudulent check deposit. Now they holding my money and says the account is being closed and going to take 30 days to get a check mailed back to me, which I find unacceptable, how's it going to take this bank 30 days to issue a check on closed acct when it takes Huntington and Chase 3 to to 5 business days to do the same. Stay away from this bank, they are criminal enterprise. They attract you with this great interests rates and offers and then go around and play with peoples and their health for that matter, I could end up in the hospital because now I can't buy my insulin.

    I was informed this past week from SoFi bank that they were closing my account. I initiated an ACH wire transfer over from my Discover bank account 3 days prior to this. It was over $1600 in my account and they posted the money for me to be able to use it the day after they told me they were closing my account. I can visually see the money in my account yet it will not let me transfer it or use my bank card. I was hung up on by their customer service rep after I repeatedly asked her the reason for them closing my account. I think they are trying to steal my money based on all of the other complaints I have been reading.

    I am currently 300 dollars behind on rent now and owe late fees. I can not wait any amount of time for MY money when it should have been returned to my bank. I am very furious about this whole situation and wonder how they are still in business after all of these complaints. Hopefully mine will impact a lot of people resolving their issues as well. This is not right to refuse access to people's money that they WORKED for. Also, when I asked them when they were going to make the account closure final so I can receive the check for my money, they said they don't know. This should not be legal and I doubt that it is.

    When someone opens up an account with a financial institution, they expect they can trust that bank with their money that's the whole reason people even open accounts. When you refuse access to an account holders money, you CLOSE that account immediately because you do not know what that person has going on. People lose their families, homes, cars over money and what makes everything so worse is not even having any reason to do it.

    I opened an online checking/savings and investment account. Within 24 hours it was hacked. I found it out and brought it to Sofi's attention. I have spent the last week trying DAILY to get my funds released - emails-calls and I can't get ANYONE to resolve it. So bottom line Sofi has every dime I have and they won't release it.

    My Sofi Money (Checking account) was blocked over a month ago with a balance of almost $10,000, without any explanation. The Live Chat support becomes unavailable while the account is locked, NO email support nor ticket support is available AT ALL, and they will ONLY get a phone call, but SURPRISE, the matter cannot be handled by their support, but by a so called Security Team that doesn't want to talk to the customers in any way. NO live chat, NO email, NO ticketing and NO phone support for their Ghostly security team. The Security team ONLY accepts voicemail. That's what I've been told. Sure, I called several times and left voicemails, but nothing happened.

    Locked out my grandson from his account due to their own error and illegal request to send front & back of SS card for verification. Made a mobile deposit, which they duplicated, then backed out that deposit and locked his account for over a month! They were calling the wrong phone number! We verified his number when we called, but this Charlene ** wasn’t calling his number! Only one email (responded with no return calls) and nothing in the US mail. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!

    Been with them since 2019. Love their new accounts and never have had a problem with them. They over direct deposit bonuses and now offer 2.5% interest on checking and 3% interest on savings balances with direct deposit. Customer service is quick to resolve issues that come up and I get my direct deposit 2-3 days early each week.

    I have been using SoFi for a year. I have used traditional Banks in the past but really enjoy all the perks from SoFi accounts. I move money a lot and SoFi manages it seamlessly. I think it's nice to earn points that can be used any way the consumer wishes. I added mine to my checking balance recently. All interactions with Customer Service has been top-notch. I believe in mutual respect. So do they. It's a great place for all my banking. I'll be a customer forever.

    I opened a joint account with my wife. She needed further verification because married name didn’t match maiden name. The representative was extremely rude to her and unprofessional. At one point he snickered. He refused to provide her with his name. I closed the account a few days after I opened it. Would never recommend this bank to anyone.

    I love the services that SoFi offers. Fee-free bank accounts, an 1.25% APY on your bank account and everything I need for finances in one app. Personally, I have experienced no issues with using their services and look forward to banking with them for years to come. The only drawbacks that some may face is a UI that needs some updates and figuring out their ATM network for the times you may need cash, but both of those are very minor inconveniences. Overall, I love the service and its benefits. If you are comfortable with using neobanks and don't need the "hand-holding" that traditional banks may provide, SoFi is a great option for all your financial services.

    My account was hacked and my money was taken I reported it to Sofi and they sent me an email stating they didn't find any issues. Even though my account was hacked and money was taken and it even said the person's name that the money was being transferred into and I don't know the person but yet there is no issue there. Therefore I will not be getting any of my money back. So I contacted my lawyer. Today we are filing the paperwork to bring Sofi to court. Not only for them not doing a thorough investigation but for also causing me emotional distress, depression, anxiety. How can a company like this do something to somebody like this. Obviously whoever created Sofi doesn't know what they are doing if they're okay with people stealing money from other people or going on other people's accounts without permission. Awesome guys. I hope you're proud of yourselves.

    I open a checking for a disaster loan. I am all approved just need a bank account and direct deposit by a EFT transfer. So easy right, over 50 account agents. I called tried to find my 25,000 eft transfer. In 14 days I still could not find it. Lost 30 hour of work to date so far no money! They sound nice BUT NO CLUE, brains or common sense. So I have 25k in the cloud still.. Run.

    Signed up with SoFi on a promotion through Penny Hoarder. SoFi gave me $5 in a stock of my choice. I did that, later allowed a bi-weekly withdrawal of $20 from my bank account to use to invest. Suddenly, over $3,000 was withdrawn without my permission. I called immediately. They accused me of allowing someone to access my account and that I had not only done that but also given someone my password as well. Nobody but SoFi and myself know I have that account. I never allow anyone to use my devices, nor would I be so foolish as to give anyone access to my account and password. It's now been a week and they haven't released my money. It's being held hostage by SoFi.

    This afternoon I spoke with a man who is allegedly a manager. He said that tomorrow at 8:00 am EST, my money will be released and I'll be able to transfer it back to my bank. However, due to their illegal and fraudulent removal of my money, not only was my bank account in a terrible negative balance, a multitude of automatic payments were not completed, resulting in fees from both the bank and the companies who were supposed to be paid. I'm certain SoFi has no intention of reimbursing me for any of these costs which are still occurring as I'm writing this. My auto insurance was cancelled as well. I'm not even able to drive to buy groceries, but again, there's no money in my account to pay for anything. This has been detrimental to my finances and health. I'm supposed to be at a doctor's appointment but I can't drive.

    SoFi are completely horrible. Their customer service lie over and over. The alleged manager I spoke with denied anyone ever accused me of giving anyone access to my account. I told him to listen to the recorded calls. Hopefully I will have access to my money tomorrow. I fully intend to remove every cent from my SoFi account and close it. If not, this will become a much more difficult situation. This is a true and accurate account of what has taken place between myself and SoFi in the past week. SoFi has not operated in good faith. SoFi is regulated by Federal Agencies. I have not made any personal insults, used profanity nor made any threats.

    This bank is INCOMPETENT!! They changed their accounting numbers for their clients without notifying us, thus when writing a check it comes back returned. In my whole life I have never had a check that bounced as I am very specific on accounting. But SoFi changed that! I got a return check for my property taxes not because of insufficient funds. But because SoFi decided to change their account numbers on their checks and the county couldn't locate the account. What kind of moronic bank is this? I will be moving all my accounts from SoFi because this level of stupidity will not be tolerated.

    2-3 day hold on your $. Can't transfer crypto. What investor wants their funds unavailable? Takes 2-3 days to transfer money within app. I had my direct deposit switched to app, funds were deposited Monday, I can't get cash, or access my funds until this coming Monday if I'm lucky. The app developers have serious work to do. GARBAGE!

    From the moment I started my account, nothing worked properly. When I tried to add money to my account from my bank, $0 dollars was the only option and no matter what I tried, it wouldn't allow any other number in there. I contacted support and their one line terse responses were "Put the cursor on the 0 and start type the amount" as if I'm a complete idiot who has never been on a webpage before. Of course, that hadn't worked and still doesn't work as of the writing of this review. I use latest version of Chrome. When I responded to the email support, I got an auto-response that all support is by chat and not email. When I went to chat, it got disconnected. I also found no robo-advisor option anywhere on the website or app that is advertised on their site. After nothing but problems, I decided to not proceed with this company. I do not feel comfortable transferring money to them (and am unable to anyway).

    SOFI is not a good brokerage, I have been facing lots of problem. Initially, they mentioned all trade are free whether it is stock or currency. In the currency trading we gain in micro points and that all benefits go to SOFI and you get nothing. They steal money in the background around 0.02% and if you calculate overall you are gaining nothing. So avoid avoid SOFI, it is very danger.

    I opened an account with this bank, and can not move money out of the account. So I am in need to transfer money out and they at this time have no way to make that happen. What kind of bank forces you to keep money on their platform only. Seems like a scam to me. Obviously, they don't have a working product to offer clients.

    Customer support is abysmal. You would think this company does not want to make money. My first name is abbreviated on my state issued license because it is too long to fit. This is causing issues when trying to open an account. I called customer support and they literally told me they could not do anything to help. Cut and dry that was the end of support. I can only imagine what kind of support you can expect even after you open an account and they are holding your funds. I would stay far away from this organization.

    SoFi policies are from the cave ages. Moving your money into an investment account considered a "settlement" and held hostage for 7 days. Imagine what will happen in the case of a market crash - you will lose all of your assets even. If you are a wise investor SoFi is not a safe place to hold your money.

    I have read reviews here re: sofi.com. I see many are borrowing or re-financing student loans and I am sorry for them. I am new to investing (at 68 years old). I started very small. Sofi.com is seamless and the site points to many helpful tools. I am getting a great education on a very small level. I like Sofi.com for this reason. My motto in life has been cash is king and now in retirement I am building a little money rather than getting nothing from my savings account. A risk yes. There is nothing but risk in life.

    So first time I used it I transferred $500. The app kept giving me an error message. After several attempts come to find out it transferred $500 six times for $3,000. Called them immediately.     A few months back, SoFi alerted customers that it was switching to a new bank, resulting in a new routing number. I was left to call several companies that I do business with, to inform them of the change. This including my mortgage company, of which I have two accounts. The month following the change, I logged into my SoFi app to make sure my monthly payments for both of these accounts were debited from my SoFi Money account. I saw two charges from my account, one for each of the loans, and assumed everything was okay. A few days later, I noticed a $20 "miscellaneous credit" to my SoFi account, with no explanation of where it came from. I chalked it up to recent promotion that SoFi was running which offered cash back for eating out at local restaurants.

    About a month later I received an alert from Credit Karma that delinquency had been reported by my mortgage company, which resulted in an approximately 40 point drop in my credit score. I panicked, of course, and called my mortgage company. We ascertained that the person who had changed my routing number had only changed the information for one of the accounts and that the $20 "credit" that appeared on my SoFi account was actually a "returned payment" on one of my two loans. I immediately brought the account to good standing, my credit score has since recovered, however, the red mark on my credit report is still there.

    Had SoFi properly labeled the $20 as a returned payment and not a "credit", I would’ve been alerted to the issue and had ample time to resolve it well within the 30-day window - avoiding this negative report on my credit. I have spoken to several customer service representatives at SoFi; none will admit that SoFi was partially and each one refused to do anything on my behalf to make things right with the credit reporting agencies - leaving me holding the bag. I am now forced to spend several hours writing letters to the credit reporting agencies to explain the situation and hopefully get this negative mark removed from my report. And in case you're wondering, yes, one mark does really make a big difference. Earlier this week, Sofi itself rejected my application for its new credit card. When I called to ask why I was rejected, they noted the delinquency on my credit report.

    I have been a SoFi customer for 5 years. I have a Money, Investment, Crypto, and Personal Loan account with the company. I also own about $1,200 of the company's stock, IPOE. Following my recent experience, I will be closing all of my accounts (aside from my personal loan, which I am unfortunately stuck with for the time being) and selling all of my IPOE stock (at a loss). I cannot, in good faith, be associated with a company that treats its customers so poorly.

    My warning to others is this: SoFi wants you to believe that it is a real financial institution, but in actuality, it is nothing more than a fancy app that offers its users a chance to “earn points” and “win prizes” for logging in, all while refusing to uphold basic banking standards. No reputable bank would label a bounced check as a credit to a checking account, so why on Earth is SoFi marking returned payments as "miscellaneous credits"?

    Every day, more and more online banking and investment apps, like Robinhood, face criticism by regulators for “gamifying” the system. I believe SoFi is no different in this respect and should be closely monitored. (To that end, I am happy to provide you with documents that support this claim, including a recent email from the company encouraging me to sign up for a credit card for a “chance to shake the magic money ball” and win up to $10,000.) SoFi needs to do the right thing; admit its role in the negative mark to my credit report and assist me in getting it back to the near-perfect level it was at before this mess occurred.

    My chip was bad on my old card, thought I’d get it replaced and not have to change my card number since it was simply damaged. I was wrong. I use their chat because of course their app currently doesn’t have a selection to replace a damaged card, just a lost or stolen one. I’m thinking there’s an issue with their app, I speak with an agent who I clearly tell I wasn’t looking to have my card number changed. The agent proceeds to change my card number without any warning or explanation as to why it’s necessary. I was advised I’d be able to see my new card info online and I’d be able to use Apple Pay while I waited for my new card..another lie.

    I have absolutely NO access to my own money now for 5-10 days. I called their customer service yesterday to see if there was a way, the agent had the audacity to ask if I used cash app or Venmo to transfer funds... cash app you need a bank account AND the card number to add cash. I have heard too many bad things about Venmo. If I’d known their customer support lacked the support part, I would’ve chosen a different bank.

    So they told me all these perks to get me to sign up, because why wouldn’t you, right! Well come to find out they try to take advantage of you I feel, because they lied. I’ve noticed so far is they said that you will get $50 and the person who referred you will get $50 if you open the account and deposit $500 into the account. I deposited $500 in my account immediately I receive $25.00 a week later after I sent emails asking how the process worked (with no response from anyone). The person who referred me hasn’t received a dime I have contacted them through email and I have gotten no response. I also made sure I used the link my friend sent me to sign up. I’m very disappointed I don’t like when companies do this. What so they were hoping we didn’t notice??‍♀️ Shame.

    Initially, SoFi was great. I liked that they cover ATM fees, have a great and useful app and good customer service. However, they decided to stop honoring the deposit of checks with a signature on file (in my case my paychecks as an independent contractor) without notice, which really put me in a financial jam and they are not taking any responsibility for the lack of communication on this. Instead, I was told to let my employer know that they need to change how they issue paychecks to me. Since they decided they will not be honoring paychecks from my employer, we are taking our banking elsewhere. Beware of changing policies at a drop of a hat without notice.

    Very hard to dispute a charge with this company, spoke to many agents sent many documentations and still my claim was declined. Even though the company that took my money failed to provide services the bank said the case is close. All my disputes with Bank of America and Chase was taken care of quickly and to my satisfaction never had I have to send so in many documents proving that my flight was canceled and I still have yet to get my money returned or a voucher for future service. Sofi said, "Oh well the case is closed." I will be sticking to Bank of America and chase and be closing this account in a few months and move all my money out of it.

    I set up a Sofi Account trying to use the new extended Tax Deadline. Their system showed I was approved for the account and allowed me to schedule a deposit for the MAX contribution. They failed to schedule the deposit and didn't create the account until July 16th. They then refused to fix their error costing me $1400 in tax refund.

    When I first signed up, it took 4 weeks to get my debit card in the mail, I was already direct depositing my checks into my new account at this time but I couldn't access or spend my money because it took so long to get my card to me. I could forgive this, stuff happens and I understand delays, but it didn't set our relationship off to a promising start. That is fo-sho. I wanted to like SoFi, I really did. Crypto Investments? Whoa! Check. Stock market investing via mobile app? Awesome! No ATM fees or overdraft fees? Bonus points. Direct deposit and Mobile check cashing? Ok well, everyone offers that now, but still cool right?

    What I didn't expect were the vast amounts of caveats that come with any of these features and the fact that they secretly discriminate against each customer and limit their abilities without full disclosure to the consumer based on many "factors" that they are not at liberty to discuss. Talk about lack of transparency am I right? I use the word discrimination because that is exactly that. Discriminating based on credit and or other factors such as net-worth. That is financial or "social status" discrimination based on numbers -- which they obviously use to valuate their clientele. I get that this is still a financial institution and this needs to be done to an extent - but to leverage privileges and access to features, time restraints on money based on this is downright Orwellian.

    Did you know if you have had credit problems in the past it could take up to 7 business days to have access to your funds after depositing a mobile check? Any Credit Union or Bank that I have had the unpleasant experience dealing with at least gave me the antiquated privilege to access to my funds instantly after depositing a check. SoFi? No. This immediately breaks my trust with their service, or should I say, "Wilmington savings fund society" just re-branded with a "hipster tech" name to trick unassuming public with catchy "progressive" marketing strategies. I almost forgot, do not plan on depositing a check over $2500, because they have a limit on the check deposit amount you can cash.

    This company is a joke. I direct deposit my paychecks, from my respectable job, I am a college grad with a not so perfect credit history (it's a work in progress ok? Student loans have not been kind to me) and I can't access funds for 7 days from a Premera reimbursement check for my glasses prescription. It gets worse. Their "Crypto" investments they offer aren't even a service they provide, they outsource this. While you can instantly transfer money to your "invest accounts" the fees are high and the waiting time to send the funds back into your money account take 5-7 business days. This includes stocks too.

    Oh and the crypto profile is sad, almost insulting even, you can buy Litecoin, Bitcoin and Ethereum. That's it. Honestly, you are better off signing up with Coinbase account who will allow you to instantly transfer money into your account, buy a diverse number of coins and can have the funds back into your sofi or any other bank account in under 48 hours.

    Customer Service is downright rude. I felt discriminated against, like a second class citizen talked down to, putting me on defense with their sarcastic undertones and apathetic behavior towards my account concerns. Overall I recommend a hard pass on this, there are a number of services out there competing for a "new banking option" and SoFi is nothing more than hot old garbage traditional banking (Wilmington savings fund society - lol!) wrapped in tinfoil with new packaging and a hipster name that promises progressive features targeting millennial's.

    Now that I got that out of the way let me tell you what I do like and why I plan on keeping them awhile longer to see if they improve. No ATM Fees - This can save your butt if you use the atm a lot. No Overdraft Fees - If you are in college, fresh out of college with a large debt to start paying off after you get your big kid job then this can also save your butt. Shiny new debit card - Their card does look pretty cool A+ on the design choice.

    If they can get their act together, remove time constraints towards accessing funds, vastly improve their customer service, get instant transfers of funds from investments and crypto, have a diverse crypto offering (maybe even partner with Coinbase for this because I know there are strict federal regulations surrounding crypto investments within the US and Coinbase is on top of this all, Binance US a close second). And for the love of all things Washington, stop social profiling your customers, offer transparency and lift regulating time constraints, let people have access to their freaking money or you won't have any clients left.

    1)Sofi paid 2.4 MILLION for running loan apps WITHOUT approval.

    2)Sofi paid FTC 110,000 for DECEPTIVE Advertising.

    3)Sofi paid tax penalties for ILLEGALLY moving everyone into THEIR fund, conflict of interest and fraud.

    Sofi has engaged in multiple crimes that the SEC and FINRA is CURRENTLY looking into on top of the prior ones they committed and paid huge fines for. They are doing bait and switch on the referral money. Looking on multiple review sites shows thousands of people complaining Sofi SCAMMED them on the referral money. They charged an ILLEGAL fee charging an incoming acat and blame it on the prior broker who both the prior broker and apex clearing BOTH said Sofi is the one who charged it. Sofi customer service reps lied on numerous recorded calls as in my state of ny, i can record them without them knowing.

    Sofi then VIOLATED its OWN terms and conditions, since i filed arbitration in finra, and they admitted they made serious illegal actions, they VIOLATED their mandatory arbitration and filed a frivolous suit in my local supreme court with the intent to get an inexperienced judge, not finra who prosecutes these crimes daily to try and silence me. Sofi then hired an attorney who then harassed my family by serving the lawsuit on 4am 5am and 6am on christmas eve, which is illegal serving on top of a frivolous suit. They been begging me and threatening me to stop writing my FACTUAL reviews with EVIDENCE and continue to abuse the law. I encourage all victims to contact FINRA and SEC, and depending on your finances, you may get a fee waiver and sue for free to recoup any scammed funds from sofi.

    Also apparently they illegally used my social to apply for a loan with them AFTER i was suing them so know i am suing them in finra Arbitration as well as federal court for FCRA Violations. They keep violating my first amendment by removing my FACTUAL review FRAUDULENTLY claiming it's false, fraud, i wasnt a customer and other lies. Luckily i am well financed with 99% assets in a cooks island trust, completely protected from frivolous suits and criminals like sofi. I am going in this for the long run and will post all public records as it moves forward unless they settle out of court. Also now im suing them for censorship for violating my first amendment by constantly fraudulently removing reviews. So they being sued for:

    Violating my first amendment with censorship
    Fraud
    Negligence
    Harassment
    FCRA Violations by applying for loans randomly without consent
    Breach of their own contract, terms and conditions
    Frivolous suit
    Blackmail

    Bait and switch

    I now have 4 attorneys who took this on, and they will help anyone who needs help with this criminal enterprise. Each time Sofi removes my FACTUAL review, ill pay for the first 10 people who email me full cost of attorneys to sue in finra arbitration.

    I signed up for SoFi Money under the $50 bonus offer. I complied with ALL requirements. I even sent them print screens of the offer I responded to and of my transactions with the account--at their request. But they still would not honor their advertised offer. Since they only have a 2 Star rating here, apparently I'm not the only one having problems with them. There are other companies offering better rates and probably less drama. From my experience don't trust their advertised offers.

    Take your money easily but on day 5 of trying to withdraw over 8 hours on phone countless emails and nothing to satisfy them. Voided check from my bank account. Wasn't good enough then they made me delete my account and re-add it to try that and that didn't work and after three hours of being on the phone today he pretty much let me go cuz we couldn't figure it out. They're just safes.

    Ughhh! If I could leave 0 stars, I would! I signed up solely because their advertising offer that theyll give you $50 when you do sign up. So I started an account almost 2 months ago & when I never saw the $50 they promised (surprise, surprise) I sent them an email asking about it... no reply. Sent another email a week later, still nothing! All in all, I've sent like 4 or 5 emails over these 2 months and NOTHING. No automatic reply, nothing. So that shows plenty on how they don't care about their customers. Their severe lack of customer service, because they can't even reply to a simple email. But the main thing being how they lie just to get people to sign up! I thought the look of the card was different and kind of cool, but the fact they're liars and can't even reply, don't waste your time with them!

    Check out Varo or T Mobile Money. They have good offers and actually do follow through with what they offer when you sign up! My boyfriend has TMobile money (debit card) and what's awesome about them, is they have 24/7 customer service and you can overdraft up to $50 with no fees! I just switched to Varo and they have a good referal bonus where if you get someone to sign up and they put your name down, you both ACTUALLY RECEIVE $50, it's not just something they lie and say to get customers!

    Coworker sent a referral link. Initially, the application was simple. It took only a few minutes. I was surprised and concerned it was denied. I have credit score above average and did not read that credit check is done for savings account. I receive prompt stating an email has been sent with further info. The email itself was vague and I called SoFI. I expressed concerns for lack of information after I provided specific info like my SSN. I told them I was married within this year but I legally changed my name and all documents reflected this life event.

    This is where all the back and forth started. They wanted me to put account in my maiden name because they couldnt verify my married name. They said they use public infomation to verify customers. When I asked for specifics, they dodged and said that was proprietary. I asked the representative if he would continue this process without thinking it was shady and or messy. This company has limited resources and places the burden on their customer. This some millennial and I am too old school for their nonsense. One star is for how well the customer service representatives answered my questions. I am not a friendly caller, but very direct and blunt. I told them if my coworker tries to refer others, I would raise the red flag.

    Some people worry about the money not being secured until it reaches a partner bank, but just know that SoFi has never not let someone withdraw money (unless your account has been flagged for security). I use Sofi as a way to make money with money, This is an account that has APY better than my Wells Fargo account and most other major banks. I can access my money with no problem in the event of an emergency. You can withdraw money from any Visa ATM, this includes all; Wells Fargo, CHASE, and most other major banks ATMs. I love it. I only wish I had a physical bank to visit. But I don't ever go to my branch nowadays.     Sofi never pays the referral bonuses, charges illegal fees and unauthorized charges, lies about many aspects of your invest account, and illegally seizes your money if you complain. The SEC, FINRA, Attorney General, FTC all seen my evidence and are opening an investigation. I have a call tomorrow with the FBI, and the media as well. This company uses false advertising and bait and switch to grow its clients and inflate its books without paying the agreed referral fees. They make false statements about your brokerage account and if you call 5 times, you get 5 answers... it should be 1 answer...

    They charged an incoming acat fee which even they agree is an illegal, unauthorized charge and yet said it will take 2 weeks to refund the money they stole!!! They holding my thousands hostage and won't let me withdraw. Once they get your money, your referrals info, expect zero customer support, even from their “presidents office”. Expect your money to be used as their piggy bank and good luck trying to withdraw it. Good luck trying to get an honest answer. This company has breached numerous regulations and fiduciary responsibilities, as well as laws. Even do a small search, it's not the first time the FTC is investigating their fraud and won't be the last. You been warned.

    First, they wouldn't link my bank account so I couldn't send myself money to get the referral fee. Then after I finally get money sent to me the referral money poof never appears. After that, I try to link it to an existing bill and it says this account is not eligible to link with any of my cards. Ok I get it. My credit isn't 700 or above, but if my credit score doesn't make me eligible then why the heck did you approve the account in the first place? I can't even use it, other than to send money back to the person who sent it to me because they have an account. All in all, I don't recommend using this service if you don't have great credit because it's nothing more than a giant waste of time. Also, when I linked the debit card it said Costa Rica?! Seems a little fishy to me.

    So I opened an account and fund it, I started to refer some of my friends to get the bonus 50x50x50. I checked my account today and my bank account disappeared without notice. So unprofessional! I would stay away from these kind of "new banking" companies. Well established banks would never do something like this, I had to email them today to figure it out what happened. Do they need to verify my information? Is it my credit score? Regardless of the reasons, I think they should be more transparent about their processes and they should get their process together. You can't just open accounts and close them as you wish.

    I've been banking with SoFi for about 2 months and so far I'm really glad I opened up the SoFi Money account. I was getting 2.25% apr until the feds just dropped the interest rate, however it's still a respectable 2.00%which is 99% more than my Wells Fargo savings account pays out...ever. Setting up the account took about 30 seconds and was incredibly easy. I've had no issues transferring money into my account. My favorite part is being able to use an ATM card with $0 ATM fees and it's one of the biggest reasons I decided to go with SoFi. In fact they have $0 fees for virtually everything concerning their money management account.

    My only issue is that when you transfer your money from one bank account into your SoFi bank account it's not actually insured while in transit and that can take a couple of days. So if something were to happen, say SoFi went bankrupt and your money didn't actually land in the bank yet, you will lose everything in the transfer. That's one reason I won't set up direct deposit and also because it takes 3 to 4 days until you can gain access to your money and who has that much time to wait to get money from their paycheck? So right now I'm in the process of slowly transferring my money from my savings account with WF into my SoFi account. With that being said, I'm happy so far with my decision to go with SoFi.

    I opened a sofi investment account. They send me $25 bonus right away after I opened my account as they promoted. Then I opened a Sofi Money account as I liked their %2.25 APY plus they had a bonus $100 after opening and transferring my first $100. And they also send me that $100 two days after I transferred the money. They have a referral program to invite friends and you both earn $50. I sent a link to a friend of mine the day she opened her account they put $50 in my and her account. I had questions couple of times and they responded right away. So far I am happy..

    SoFi sent me an email offering their new SoFi Money savings account with a 2.25% APY and $100 bonus for signing up. I have done some investing in their SoFi Invest platform in the past so they have my info. I started to apply for the SoFi Money account but they said I would have to unfreeze my Experian credit file to complete the application. I unfroze it (my FICO score ranges between 760 and 800). I continued the application only to receive an error message saying that they couldn't verify some of my information. I then tried corresponding with 3 separate customer service representatives and the only answer I ever received was, "There's nothing we can do." Seems to me that a company that already hosts a brokerage account for me and sends me a targeted email offer for a product should reconsider providing their customers no service and non-answers.     I'm new to stock trading. Fraud their system is screwed, very poor customer service. Messed up my account after a reverse split. Lost $ due to their system issue. After split shares highest value ever was $11+ and average cost for buying per share is $13.5+. Multiple times tried to contact them, they are always busy. I emailed them multiple times in response and it's clear they don't care about me as a customer nor are they willing to make any effort to fix my problem.     I placed $100,000 into an account expecting to accrue the advertised 2.25% interest. My money was placed into an investment account. When I called to transfer the money into the correct account, I was placed on hold for a very long time then told there were no funds in the account. I was then told to contact the investment department (all departments have the same number). I tried that and the department was closed. Finally, I decided to close out the account and transfer the money back into my bank account. I'm now told it will take 4-6 days to do this. I am staying with the trusted banks I already use, Ally and Barclays which already pay a high interest rate. If you want a bank where it is impossible to reach someone to discuss your account then SoFi is your bank.

    I sign up for a SoFi Money account. All went well, until they decided to close my account and never gave an actual reason. I have a credit score around 800. I actually hadn't done any transactions yet, so not sure what was the problem. I reached out to their "customer service" to try understanding the issue, but I just get BS boilerplate answers. I don't care if they rejected my application, but accepting it and then kicking you out shows how unprofessional this bunch of amateur banker wannabes is.

    Don't waste your time with this company. They are clearly experiencing growing pains with the SoFi Money product and they do not have the time to appropriately and timely handle issues. Keep your money for over two weeks, refused to give it back. Screw them, boycott this company, they will run your credit without your permission.     I saw the ad for SoFi money on Facebook sounds like a great alternative to a regular bank right! Well signed up. Had a card within a week. Everything seems great. Started going through the app and learning how to invest my money. I added a few companies to my watch list trying to see how everything works. So I got on to my account about a week ago and it says I don't have a money account. So after having it linked to my other account still this is surprising. But when I sent an email asking why my account was gone I was told to look at the email that was sent.

    So apparently my FICO score was not good enough for a money account. And this is after having an account with them for about 3 months. And not 1 time during the sign up do they say anything about a credit check which they did on Feb 14. So it takes them to May 1 to close my account without any notice. And with the reviews I've seen here I'm sure they are selling our information. I have never heard of anyone getting an account and closing it almost 3 months later because of FICO score. And I have been all over the app and website and the only requirements are 18 years old US citizen and social security number. Nowhere does it say credit check. But that's my experience.

    Tried to open an IRA to have some tax deduction but ended up paying tax penalty instead. They are totally incompetent and understaffed. They cannot keep any deadline and if you want to get anything done, you'd better be on phone every single day. Otherwise, they will just keep promising and doing nothing. In nutshell, I applied for an IRA account on 4/9/2019 and after 5 chat/call with their support, I learnt today (5/3/2019) that they screwed it and cannot fix it. My deposit did not go thru for 2018. Needless to say that means a tax return correction, more tax and penalty to me while they just say sorry and walk away. I have never seen such incompetence at a financial institution. No way I can trust them with my IRA.

    This is where we ran into trouble, SoFi Money is hugely popular and some people fall into cracks, I was one of them. While the roundabout of identity verification went on, I continued my plans, knowing eventually all things will pass. Invest, check. Total breeze! Relay, check. Total breeze! Back to Money, still in limbo. After about 6 weeks I finally buckled in and sent my dissatisfaction email. The same day, everything was resolved! Several people worked together, took ownership, and made me whole on a Friday night! I am a happy SoFi customer and am inspired by the people that are there to look out for me. Things go wrong everywhere, I trust the team at SoFi to work hard on my behalf to make it right. All in all I look forward to having a long relationship with SoFi and have trusted them with the lion's share of my financial portfolio. I recommend that you do too.

    I originally deposited money in SoFi’s money account as their interest rate was better than the institution I was currently using. Their service during this period was acceptable as they quickly provided an ATM card and interest against my principal. This is where the good service ended. I transferred money from the money account to the investor account as I wanted to make some equity purchases. The transfer was recorded on April 16th, which completely debited the funds from the money account, only a small portion was provided in the investment account for usage.

    I submitted an email request to their customer service on April 18th requesting an update as this was an account-to-account transfer and my money was not available. (As of this writing, I have received no response in either junk, spam, or regular email). Therefore I contacted them on the 19th through phone and their CSR said it takes 1-3 business days to process. Even though banks were open on the 19th, they said it was a holiday. I checked my account again on April 22 and still no funds available. This company is long on promise and short on delivery. Don’t believe their marketing schemes and stick with institutions that deliver.

    I wish I read reviews here prior to signing up. Just like many others here, my account has been restricted with no notice, warning or communication. I found out after a payment I initiated from my credit card company bounced - I had more than enough funds in the account's "Available Balance". When I called to figure out what was going on, I was told my account was restricted on March 28th and would need 7-10 business days to resolve. During this time they sent me a push notification to setup my direct deposit to them? (Why would I send more money to be held hostage? I'm so thankful I didn't deposit more initially!)

    The 7-10 business days have passed, it is not April 17th and the customer service department still has no update for me. Any requests to be escalated to a manager or this internal review department have been denied. This feels like being robbed! I have bills to pay and surely can't tell the creditors that Sofi has stolen my money without any explanation. I have their debit card, checks in hand and a ton of emails, but no access to my money. Very disappointed. Not a pleasant start with a new financial service.

    Updated on 04/16/2019: Here it is April 16th 2019. The company Sofi is still give me the run-around about getting my money. They still have my account frozen. I need help? Somebody help me? I don't know what to do anymore so if somebody is out there that had the same problem and finally got the money tell me how they did it.

    Original Review: March 19th 2019 I had a deposit sent to SoFi. By March 22nd they tell me my account is restricted and here it is now April 8th and my account is still restricted. They keep giving me the same rehearsed speech about inconsistencies. Nobody really knows why they got my account Frozen and to this day I still have not got my money back and I'm fixing to sue them too for stress, causing a hardship on me. So my advice to anyone do you not go to SoFi.

    Ok so, I had to do more research about SoFi, because for whatever reason, they froze my account without any type of explanation. The day they did it, 2 days ago, I sent them an email, letting them know, that if it was because I was transferring my money to different accounts, I have my reasons to do this, is some type of strategy that I learned to create relationships with other financial institutions, but at the same time, I wasn’t going to close my account with them, and they didn’t answer. Today I’m extra mega pissed, for obvious reasons, I NEED MY MONEY!!! And still haven’t received a ** email back.

    If I don’t received an answer from them tomorrow morning, at noon I’ll be heading to get a lawyer and will proceed to sue this people for mental stressful damages on illegally restricting and freezing my money without an actual explanation. This situation makes no sense at all. Their communication is very poor, or non-existent. Once this issue gets resolve, I will NOW definitely closing the account with them.

    If there was a zero that's what I would give them. I got my first deposit and they restricted my account just like they've done everyone else's. They said they were checking transactions but I have made no transactions other than the deposit. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I have also contacted my attorney. I have sent them emails telling them to close the account immediately and transfer my money back into the account I transferred it from. This is definitely some kind of scam. Buyer beware. Don't ever open any kind of account with this place. They suck you in with all of their good benefits as they call them and then freeze your account. My lawyer is prepared to seek legal action if necessary so I hope it's monetarily worth it to them over the amount that's in my account.

    I opened a SoFi Money account because I fell for everything they had to offer. After a week of using my debit card and making small local transactions (grocery stores, etc.) they restricted my account and prevented me from using all of my money. I called their customer support multiple times in hopes of an answer as to why I have been the victim of such an inconvenience, and every time they say that they have no control over why it happened, always blaming an "inside team" for the decision. I have asked for the number of this "inside team" to reach out to them directly and instead they insist that they will be calling me.

    Still no call after being promised a call yesterday! I have bills to pay and all of my funds are in this SoFi Money account and with no way to lift the restriction until this fake inside team takes 7-10 business days to deal with it, I am hopeless. I have never felt so strongly towards a business to take the time out of my day and write a review, but I am doing this to warn prospective SoFi customers. Do you like being in control of your money? Do you like being able to use your hard earned money whenever you like? DO NOT open a SoFi Money account. Do your research, there are plenty of other banks offering what SoFi has. Wanting to use your own money should not be this hard. I may get my money back at some point, but one thing I will never get back is my time.

    The restriction was lifted on my account and I am very happy with that result. I do think how they handled the situation was poor and when a restriction needs to be placed on an account a phone call notifying the individual should take place. Finding out by your card declining only causes panic and confusion. The agents I spoke to besides the team leader were not equipped to handle this situation and this caused unnecessary stress. I understand this is a new product and it’s bound to have some trial and error but I believe the time that SoFi has been around they could have much better customer service than what was displayed. I still expect some follow up and will be in contact as this caused much stress.

    I received my paycheck on 3/22/2019, I got my notification from my SoFi Money App around 5:50am EST. I go to work and take my lunch at 12:27pmEST. I get to the Wilmington Market and try to purchase my lunch at which point they tell me my card was declined so I try to use the ATM and again it says "Bank Unavailable". So I call the number on the back of my card and I get this very nice gentleman who reassures me that the restrictions should not have been put on the card and that they should be lifted within the hour (said probably faster but just to be cautious and within the hour). Said I would receive an email about the restriction but that they'll be in contact with me to make sure its off. Okay no problem all is well, my coworker bought me some lunch so okay for now. Around 1:05pm EST I get an email but this email says it would be resolved within 7-10 business days.

    Now I am alarmed because that is a long time for someone who does live paycheck to paycheck. My car is in the shop right now and I am supposed to pick it up Saturday but if my funds aren't available how am I supposed to do that? I have my own set of bills, so I call the number on the back of my card once again 855-456-7634 and this agent (Taylor) reiterates that yes there is a restriction on my card which means I cant do anything at all with it and when I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to she says "Well my supervisor is going to tell you the same thing, that theres nothing we can do" which I understand, theres only so much a customer service rep can do but goodness sake at least make me feel somewhat better. This is my livelihood and for her it was just whatever.

    The first gentleman was very kind but lied to me, then this girl was just cold. Finally I get ahold of a team lead which isn't quite a supervisor but she was very kind but again informs me that this MORNING an email went out about a list of accounts that were flagged. Why? Why would my account get flagged? No answers, not one answer. Just more "I am so sorry but we cant do anything". I switched to SoFi at the suggestion of someone I trusted and because they work there and HIGHLY recommended SoFi Money but its turned into a huge disappointment. Noone can help me and I feel that once I am able to even get my funds that I will just cancel my card all together. I understand security measures and even told the first agent that I would rather be safe than sorry however 7-10 business days?? That's absolutely absurd and unacceptable. You have my money and can't tell me why I am unable to access it.

    I have money on my account and used my card twice and they restricted it. Now I stranded with my 2 yrs son cause I visited VA and I live in NC and can't get gas or a room and they said it's gonna taken 24 to 48 hours to review account. This is the worse.

    Signed up and they deposited my checks then turn around and tell me they need to verify me after the checks been deposited. So now they are holding my money and stalling because they are trying to scam me out of my money. Terrible.
