The virtual assistant for Huntington is AWFUL. What a joke. It doesn't understand the most basic questions. It is unable to help with anything!!!

I opened a checking and savings account online with Huntington bank. They approved me and opened the accounts. This was around the 8th of May 2026. On May 10th 2026 I mobile deposited a check for 1000. On May 12th they sent me an email closing my accounts. No reason given. They put a hold on the check I deposited until the 15th. They told me I could go to a branch and withdraw the money on the 15th. I tried this and I was denied. No reason given. Said I'd have to wait up to 60 days for my account to close to get the money. They also said I could get the person who wrote me the check to get a certified stamped letter saying he wrote me the check? I have pictures from the person who wrote me the check showing it cleared on the 11th. This is a horrible bank. I didn't check for reviews before I tried them. But they have hundreds of bad reviews. All I want is my money back.

I've been paying my car loan for 2 years now. Never had a problem till December 2025 then suddenly Huntington app stops taking payments from my bank account so now I have to call huntington. I use the ai phone payments. It gets my number wrong and my payment gets returned so I call customer service and wait forever and of course they admit no wrongdoing. I tell them run that number again. 3 days later it works and the payment goes through. Why don't these fools fix their app so I don't have to call them. This bank is dumb.

I had to use some of my substantial credit limit because emergencies happen. Citibank saw this and raised the limit on one of my cards. Huntington saw it and they cut my credit limit to barely over what I owe on the card, causing my credit score to take a dive. They didn’t even notify me; Experian did. I called and was told that I couldn’t get help until I got a letter explaining the reason, which is ridiculous. When I finally got a letter with the reasons, I called and asked them to fix it and they told me to wait 6 months. So I’ll be transferring this balance and cancelling the account. Terrible bank, terrible customer service, terrible way to treat a customer who always pays over the minimum and does so early.

I work with banks and financial institutions all over the tristate area - I have for two decades. Most banks are Ok. A few are terrible. The Huntington branch I work with is one, if not *the* best. Electronic transactions are rapid. Staff and management are personable and professional. Response to specific and sometimes uncommon banking needs has always been exceptional. Having had a long time-frame to evaluate their service may give me a better perspective than *new-user/onetime* bad experiences - not sure. But I highly recommend the branch I use.

The Most unprofessional and Racist banking experience I've ever encountered! The Passive Aggression and tune of everyone I spoke with... My God. Not to mention the week long holds on every electronic payment I received, from accredited sources. I've had my problems with banks but for ME, Huntington in Ohio has been the WORST! Plus this app don't stay in long enough to enjoy anything. It kicks you out now. Smh I'm done.

Worst customer service EVER! My second horrible experience.. The long waits to discuss account issues, such as every transaction being declined, over an hour on the phone, my son couldn't wait and asked if I could add him to the call when they answer. The representative said they didn't allow that. Such a waste of time trying to speak with someone. Find another line of credit. Do not waste your time.

New customer as of March 2026, switched banks to Huntington, heard great things - but now.... Not so much. Deposited a payroll check- that is normally direct deposit, but since I switched banks a paper check was submitted. They accepted my deposit and then put a 5 day hold on a payroll check that can easily be verified. So needless to say, new account closure already in progress. Disappointing to say the least.

I have been a Huntington customer for 28 years. I tried to open an account without my husband and granddaughter on it last week but there was a line of 10 people and the teller said they did not have enough staff. She made an appointment for me in 4 days with a “gentleman.” I emailed him to cancel as I decided to go to a closer branch. He texted me today to verify so I called to say I had cancelled. When he answered, he was laughing. I asked if he was this person and he confirmed though still laughing…presumably some inside joke. I told him he sounded like a 15-year-old boy and he replied, “Thank you.” Still chuckling. Not only this, but their customer service voice is now a male voice when they had a female all these years and they have more female customers than male! This bank is a joke!

Called me, said they opened my account years ago, no idea Micheal called customer service for 4 months, still taking money and refuse to talk, hanging up on me, stop refusing to close my account, stop taking money then refusing to talk on toll free Huntington number

I have been a Huntington customer for many years. Their customer service has declined dramatically in the last few years. I called three days in a row, and each time I had over a 60 minute wait time to get through to Customer Service. This is unacceptable. Huntington do better!

Unable to access my account on the web site or android app. Customer support was no help after 49 minutes on the phone. Still waiting for a call back 90 minutes later! We will be moving our account to Bank of America!

I want to leave negative. Over 5 years ago I had a TFC bank account with my son. It was a student account. When they were bought by Huntington I was told he needed to upgrade his account because he would now be over 18. We decided not to open another joint account. He opened his own. Fwd to today and I got a collection letter in the mail for an account he has that they are saying I am on. I never approved an account with them. I now have to take time off work to speak to a supervisor because they are too busy at 8:20 am when they opened at 8am.

Local tellers are fine, it's the structure of the process and the lack of customer service. Have had a Personal Line of credit for 30 YEARS, and continue to experience problems that are totally the fault of Huntington. Recently had my card rejected during a purchase, and a call identified as loan collection. I have paid my minimum payments X5 EVERY MONTH. They refunded the late charge, since they were wrong, but refuse to fix the fundamental problem. I was on the phone for 52 minutes waiting. ALSO, their statements are impossible to decipher.

I want my bank account closed. They will not close it. It’s at zero balance it’s like they’re holding me hostage. They took $200 from me. I paid it back and now they still won’t close my account. I’m in a wheelchair. I told them this. what a shame how do you do your treat customers you have to hold them hostage what is your issue?

Was going to cash in my cd and put it in a savings account, and the person on the phone started asking all kinds of questions, such as political asking if I ever ran for office, am I legal usa citizen, how was I going to use my money, how much I was going to put in per month, how much I was going to take out each month, and many more personal questions about my money. None of their business how I am going to use my money, is this a Trump bank or a Republican bank owned, after getting very mad, I told them to close all my accounts.

No stars. Worst bank ever. Zelles don't go through. Can't get help through customer service. They don't give you the $400 for signing up like they say they will. Go into the building for help and they still won't help you.

If I could give them negative stars, I would. We had a loan with them 3 years ago. We paid off the loan and we'll come to find out all this time they have been charging us interest on a ZERO balance loan and service fees. To close our account, we had to jump through so many hoops and speak to numerous individuals, including a supervisor who was of zero help. To top it off, they were not willing to waive any of the fees incurred on a zero-balance account. Makes no sense. Super frustrating - we will never bank with them ever!

Terrible services. I’ve been having problems with my account for a month now. They just say add funds just to lock your account and say it takes 90 days to review. My work checks are sitting in an account I can’t use.

A fraudster opened a new account at Huntington Bank in my name and was attempting to link it to an account that I have at a different bank to withdraw money. I caught it before any money was withdrawn and contacted representatives from Huntington Bank three separate times a couple of weeks ago requesting that the account be closed immediately. The last representative indicated that their process requires 60 days to complete an investigation. I also got a satisfaction survey after the third call and requested a callback related to my concerns and they have not contacted me. As of today the account is still open. Stay away from Huntington Bank.

Their direct deposit process is awful! Between deposits coming in and not being able to use them right away, to the early pay being variable and not set .. customer service not being able to provide direct guidance as to why Huntington chooses to implement their deposit process as such will have me leaving Huntington and going back to Key.

After opening a checking account that blocked all deposits and payments I was told there was no problem. After calling the 800 number I First I was told to go to a branch. The branch did not know why I came, as the teller ate a chocolate donut (Very professional) and told me to call 800 number. I called the 800 number again and they said there was no problem. When I asked why my deposits were rejected and the payments were refused they said it maybe could be this or that but there was no problem. The ** on the phone constantly talked over me and I had to tell him to Shut up and listen instead of talking while I was trying to explain.
Frustrated I demanded to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor told me that it was my fault that I must have been giving everyone the wrong account number. I said that I did not and that something was wrong. Then the supervisor started yelling at me and berating me. This bank has no right managing money and should be put out of business. I asked to speak to the supervisor's supervisor and was told it would take 3 business days for me to talk to another **. In the meantime I cannot get deposits or payments out of this useless account.

August 15, I went to Huntington Bank on Wilson Mill Rd. Richman Hts. Ohio. I went to cash a check, for $9,000. I was told by the teller there was not enough funds in my account. I said I should have more than $10,00 into that account. She explain there was (2) checks that was cash and showed me the checks that some one cash without my authorized. I immediately started an investigation with the branch manager Michelle **. She told me to do a police report which I did.
After about 3 weeks I went to the branch, and Michelle said I was denied getting my money. She was not able to give me a reason why they denied giving my $8,100 back to me. I told Michelle I was taking this to my attorney and the media. She said at this point she was not able to help me. After the attorney send them a letter. I received a call from a lady name Marie **. She said she would help me but there was no help at all. She had me to filled out a 3rd party form, which I did for my attorney to speak on my behalf. It went nowhere.
* She never return my call.
* She never return my attorney calls.
* She said I should have had fraud protection on this account (My attorney & the Federal Trade Commission)..Said I don't have to have it,
* She said in May 2025 I was going to speak with a lady name Shara about wiring money & she was going to tell me about Fraud Protection, But we never talk (I am not sure what sense that make).
* She said at one point I had it then it was removed (I never know I had it, up until now, I never knew anything about fraud protection, ( I have had this account for more than 13 years).
* I advised to show me, she said she could not.
* I was told it was a self tool and I should looked at my self tool (I am not sure what that is).
* If I don't what fraud protection is, who would I know what I am looking at.
* Maria said, "I am not trying to stress you out". (Too late for that. You allow someone to take $8,100) from my account. You don't think I am stress).
* Well Ms. ** I am not going to argue with you. (Why should you, I am the victim.)
* Well Ms. **, IT IS WHAT IT IS! (Wow.)
* Everything is a lie, they are totally lying on me.
This is where we are at. She will no-longer return my calls at this point. I have fraud protection now, I was told I have no other choice but to have it on my account. To this still I still do not have my money. Huntington is a terrible bank, how can you let the hacker to two step ahead of you.

I am In the unfortunate position of being a Veritex customer now forced to transfer to this awful service. Basic facilities such as online wire transfers from a checking account will no longer be available online; other reviews make me look at the online experience with severe trepidation: this is like going back to the 1980’s!!

Terrible fraud dept. Not even a call. Just mail notices. They don't trust the customer. Most insensitive department. Even when I talked with a banking associate at my local office they confirmed FRAUD dept not a customer focused environment, can't wait till home loan rates drop, will move my loan to another bank.

Huntington Bank stuck me in a forbearance program in April of 2020 with no paperwork, no authorization and couldn't get ahold of anyone of any power until I almost lost everything dec 2020. There was no paperwork, they have refused to make it right even with their homesavers dept having records of me trying to make a payment to stop it that they refused to accept. There has to be some kind of paper trail because the forbearance program they claimed I was in was suppose to be over Aug of 2020 but was coded for Aug of 2021, 18 Mos later. I can't fight a 22 billion dollar company and shouldn't have to since they haven't admitted their fault. It buried me in credit card debt that I've tried over 5 years to get rid of and I can't. I've lost over $550,000 since 2020. It's just not fair. Steve Steinour should be ashamed.

I called in last evening due to a letter I received about my CD and automated renewal at 2.5%. Chase is currently offering a 4%. I have accounts with both banks and was told although they could not meet that they could do a 3.92%. So I set up an appointment to go in and renew it with Huntington. When I got there, the person that worked with me told me that they couldn't match the 4% and it did not mature until the 30th. She said at that point they could put it into a cash account and transfer it over to Chase. The feeling that I got was that they did not really care to keep my business. That is fine, I will pursue transferring to Chase, I have 10 days from the 30th to do so. The thing that bothers me the most is the person that I spoke with the day before (SHOULD) have told me that I couldn't do anything until the 30th instead of wasting my time by going in for the appointment...

Very disappointed with their customer service. A customer disputed a purchase and without any concern for me. They gave their customer the money back without any research and now I’m without my money and product. What a horrible way to run a bank and very unfair to small businesses.

Huntington was a very bad banking experience. Jan 2023 - Cleveland OH, 9th St. Branch. This is the only bank that clipped me for my money. I deposited a check for approx. $2,000 and they took 17 days to process it. I was told at first 7 days, then 10 days, and the check finally cleared 17 days later. When I was told 10 days I made $500 in online purchases, because the account balance showed the check cleared. The bank reversed the cleared check and charged me with an overdraft which cost me about $200, half of the $400 account opening bonus.
