Decided to open an Ace checking account when the Ace employee suggested I do so to avoid paying high fees to cash my monthly and biweekly payroll checks. She said if I had direct deposit I would not be charged anything to withdraw the money, at most 3 dollars. I withdrew 1500.00 yesterday to pay my rent and other bills and was charged 25.00 and some cents. This was at an Ace location on Lafayette and San Bernardo in Laredo, TX. On top of this I am charged a 5 monthly fee for having the account, even though I have direct deposit for two separate incomes. To make matters worse, the overdraft fee of 15 dollars has increased to 20. There are also long lines at the local Ace locations.

Awful. Never use this company. Went to the one on Gravois Road. The girl Anna was so unprofessional. Tried to cash a check. She took forever then tried to charge me 250.00. I said never mind. Went to Check N Go. They cashed it for 90.00 and was very nice. I do not like dishonest people. Please Do Not Use Ace. MARIE

I have gotten loans from here a couple times. However, I went through some financial hardship. Instead of being given the option to make lower payments for a payday loan. They sent my case to court! I received no mail or phone call until I got the call from the county court! They actually will take you to court for a $200 dollar loan!! Instead of allowing you to make payment arrangements they called me one time and within five minutes they called the people that I had listed on my application. They did that instead of allowing me time to call them back! I do not recommend doing any type of loans with them. Choose another place! There are plenty other loan places offer want to help you pay off your loan without going this far!

I will never use this company again. I was afraid to try them to begin with and I should have listened to my instinct. I borrowed $500 and ended up paying $971 in 3 payments. Yet I was told a different amount. When I tried calling for customer service they kindly told me they could not see "in store" loan information. Had I made the 12 payments as I had initially signed for I was going to end up paying $1760. Yet in 3 I paid $971. Makes NO sense & I HIGHLY recommend that no one use this company.

They'll run your credit without permission. They'll call your bank and ask about your latest transactions all to lend you a few hundred. Don't use it. Use lendup.com or cashnet.com instead, they don't run credit.

After applying for a payday loan yesterday I received two emails after they were closed that stated the following: "Your application for a short-term loan is approved based on the information you provided on your application, but we still need to verify some of your information. Please call us at 888-753-2392 to complete the approval process during our business hours, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. CST."

But when I called in thinking my loan was all set and my financial problems were solved, I was told the loan was only pre-approved and I still had to wait. Nobody could tell me how long nor why I have two emails saying the loan was approved and for me to call in. When I explained I felt the emails were deceptive and I wanted too cancel my loan they refused to do so telling me I had to wait for it to be approved and then and only then could I cancel the loan application. Total humiliating waste of time and of their own company resources answering my calls. They also won't let me cancel the loan now and want to keep me waiting and worrying about the whole situation. If you want to be deceived and humiliated when you are in a tough financial spot then this is the company for you.

I applied for an installment loan and was sent an email stating that I was pre-approved based on the information I provided and that I was to call to verify some "additional" information. When I called, the representative only asked my name, phone number, date of birth and last four of my ssn #. After providing the information, she said my loan was denied. Why send a "pre-approval" email then? This is just bad business and I will never recommend this company!

I feel the service can be approved If it was set up more like your competitor Speedy Cash. The company would make more money having credit access. But I use your loan company all the time. Just FYI.

Thanks,

I'm getting emails from ACE CASH EXPRESS saying that I took out a loan in the amount of 1250 dollars. This is the second time this has happened to me with this company. They're either scammers or they're trying to extort money from people. I had been getting different emails from them, One stating my application was incomplete, another stating I was denied, another saying that I need to verify my account information, then lastly asking for a payment or all in full. This is totally ridiculous and something needs to be done. Not long after my account was compromised so I had to close that one, cancel my debit card, and open a different account. I was forced to lock all 3 of my credit bureaus and place a lock on them, and red flag my social because of them.

They want payment every 10 days instead of on an actual payday schedule. Then when you call to change your due date they tell you too bad they can’t do anything. It’s one of the most awful places I’ve gone through!

I would not recommend using Ace for payday loans. I was inquiring about cash online, and their whole application process was bizarre and confusing. They had me sign 2 documents before even telling me if I was approved. Apparently it finalized a loan I thought I had canceled out of. I only found this part out 4 days later when money was deposited into my account. Luckily cancelling the loan was an easy process. But I was never once clearly told that I had accepted. I never saw or signed a promissory note which I, maybe incorrectly, thought was a requirement. I never received a confirmation email. I literally would not have known the process was completed if I had not checked my bank account.

On top of that, the next day I went in store to apply and they had me go through the whole process again. Going as far as to run my credit again. I assume they did anyway. Once again the process was not clearly explained to me. They didn't even have me fill out an application, which I also thought was a requirement. In the end I was denied for having too many existing loans, which now that I know the online loan had been completed makes sense. At the time it was very confusing. That was all they could tell me, even though the loan was with their company.

I was later informed that in store and online are completely different and they can't even see if an online loan exists at the store level. Which seems weird to me since you're suppose to be able to make payments in store. The whole situation was ridiculous. I suggest not using this company. There are plenty of other options out there that will be more upfront and knowledgeable about the whole process.

So I was locked out of the payment portal and could only log into the collections portal so when you log in you can make a payment. So I check my bank account today and Ace has written itself a check in my name and cashed it through my bank without my permission.

My husband and I went to the branch that is located in Mesquite Texas. We was first denied due to no proof of income. So the lady states "if you get that we can try again." Brought in pay stubs. Oops denied again 'cause my husband's name was not on his card. Umm. Take notice the lady states "do you have a card with your name on it." Umm lady on his pay stubs it have his direct deposit with the account number that is on his card. Ran again, oops denied. For the 3rd time she runs it again and oops denied again stating now it’s his credit.

That’s a lie. We have our credit to before anyone to run our credit we are notified and we have to call to unfreeze it. No notifications. We called and our credit was not ran. It come back. He was at a 556. No we are at a 700 credit. Goes to show you that they give it to that won’t to. I would not recommend this place. In trust worth. And the site says no credit checks. And they don’t. They have it programmed in their computer to give out those notices when they feel it’s not necessary. Thanks Ace. A lesson learned.

Twice they took out their payment too early and cost me a $35 overdraft each time. Called them and they try to say that it said the 1st and not the 3rd. They are lying because every time before, they took it out on the 3rd. Do not use these people. They are liars and will screw you.

I must first congratulate the employees for running a loan disbursement and collecting business. Application for the loan is simple. Answer questions, fill up compliance forms, ("Accepting by signature the dismissal of bankruptcy proceeds") Non or military affiliation... etc. Loan sum amount depends on financial history with the company, most likely starts to lend from 100 dollars. Once credibility is built you get access to higher disbursement amounts. Walk in store loans are to be paid in store. You cannot pay a walk in store loan online with this company. Strange in this digital age, but hey - they still treat you like a fine customer. LOAN FEES ARE BEST, EVEN AMONGST OTHER ONLINE LOAN CENTERS.

I actually applied for a district manager position with the company. I went through 4 interviews and never heard anything back. The regional manager was or thought she was really interested in me. When it came time to interview with her boss, she was very short on phone and didn’t have much to say. She put me on hold a couple times and then just came back and asked if I had any questions and then cut me off when I did go to ask. I sent follow up emails to recruiter and to the regional manager and never heard anything back. This was after they wanted me to visit a couple stores and ask questions and get back to them on findings.

I feel that the least they could have done was give me an answer. It may have been for the better though because it seems like the employees work long hours with no breaks sometimes. The stores were run down as well. If they treat potential employees this way, I can only assume how they treat theirs and their customers.

They had the most rudest clerk on Pat Booker Road. She first was upset cause I ask if they verify my check since they didn't cash it the day before and it was a big bank and they should be better aware of banks, then she call me a liar and I'm transgender and was never disrespectful and she close the waste of time by referring to me as "MR" which I had to correct her for her horrible customer service. She work (AM shift Pat Booker Rd) 2-20-19. They lost my business.

Applied for installment loan at the end of December 2018, received the installment loan for $5000 (max installment loan allowed). I paid the loan off in January 2019, never missed a payment, never late. Reapplied on Feb. 13, 2019 for another installment loan online, it came back pre-approved for $4000. I called the customer service and told them I just paid off their last loan last month, why was I only approved for $4000 this time. The customer service rep. said she had NO IDEA. I said, "OK, whatever. Let's do the $4000." Finished up the application and then they declined me. (No changes in my income or my job, no derogatory credit.) Just declined me. I asked for a reason, they couldn't give one. They have NO CUSTOMER LOYALTY and treat their past clients disrespectfully. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

I find myself in a tight spot following my divorce. I needed a small installment loan. These types of loans are extremely expensive, but I found Ace's fees to be less than similar loan companies. I would prefer to use Ace if I needed one again. The only problem I had was verifying my bank account because of my name change. I had one loan, paid it off quickly, and applied for a second. No problems the first time, but I ran into problems the second time even though everything was the same. To everyone saying they contacted you, there are scammers out there using the names of Ace, Speedy Cash, CashNetUSA and others to get your information. Don't call those numbers or respond to those requests. Go to the company's website directly and contact them directly.

I told him I would have think about that my sister received a loan and had to give that info so I gave it to him. He deposited a check from a attorney's office and forged my signature! My account is now under investigation and I was told my bank account would be closed!!

First off we will never ever use Ace Cash Express again. I will never refer anyone to or recommend in any way. They have destroyed the trust in an instant that they so display as a slogan on their signs everywhere. Now to set the record straight, we applied for an installment loan, to pay off in payments biweekly, then we find out we're in the negative where we bank. Turns out they deliberately changed that installment loan into a payday loan solely because they wanted to. So we took out another loan to pay off that loan in full from Ace Cash Express also, loud and clear letting them know we're applying for an installment loan and not a payday loan that we can pay biweekly.

The first 2 weeks went by and we paid the finance charge like clockwork and then again someone in that business decides to withdraw the finance charge weekly instead of biweekly as we agreed to!!! No notification. No heads up. No nothing. Had to find out through our banking reps that there is unusual activity from Ace Cash Express going on causing us to have insufficient funds by taking out weekly when we never agreed to it in the first place. Now that, we've called to ask for transcripts about how they are handling our file we emailed them and not as much as a courtesy from them in any way to respond at all.

It is all fraudulent if you ask me and it amazes me how they can breach their own contract and be at a complete disregard for the customer in concern trying to exercise their right to be informed of such fraudulent activity thus this review and many more to come. It isn't slander when it's true, And this is only the beginning, I paid that loan off today but won't rest until someone is held accountable for this unacceptable fraudulent activity is put to an end, and will never even think of using this place again much less refer anyone to them to get to the same treatment!! Am seeking to get this franchise into the trouble they seem to get themselves into I have the transcripts to prove it and I aim to do so starting with the BBB. I ADVISE EVERYONE NOT TO USE Ace Cash Express, SINCERELY. P.S. I'D GIVE NO STARS IF I COULD!!! And that too is an understatement...

I applied for a $300 installment loan online with ACE Cash Express in August of 2018. The money was deposited in my account the next business day. They withdraw my installment loan payment amount for my installment loan when my paycheck gets deposited. I have not had any problem with ACE Cash Express and they have been a great place to get a short term installment loan.

I received an email back in August from ACE Cash Express welcoming me to my new account... I did not apply for an account with this company so was very concerned. Of course the email had a "click here" link which I did not fall for, so I called the phone # on the email and spoke with a man, explained I did not apply for an account with them and asked who, what, when this account was opened. This guy then said in order for him to search/confirm this bogus account was for me to supply him with my "FULL SOCIAL SECURITY #"! What? NO WAY!

So, he said he could not help me further. I've tried over and over again to try and find out what/who this company is and why they continue to send me emails... that my "pink debit card has shipped and to activate when it arrives"... no card ever arrived, that I can manage my ACE Flare account online with of course a 'click here' link. I continue to get 2-3 emails from this company since August, and then yesterday I received an email thanking me for choosing ACE Cash Express and to take a survey regarding a recent store interaction listing a specific date. I have no idea what they are talking about. BEWARE. After all this time I believe it's time for me to go to the police and report.

Applied online for loan. Got response from Ace Cash Express for $5000. Was told because of my score I would need to submit $250 by a Google Play card to the loan money AND the $250 put into my bank. Went to store, got Google Play card, called Stanley, told him the number on the back of card, and waited. When the money didn't get into my account, I called and Stanley said I would need to put more money to get it processed because the FCC or FDC was holding the money. The additional money would take care of it and release my money plus the money I had added to the pot. Did the same thing again. No money showed up.

I wanted to believe in this and he kept telling me to trust them one more time. Anyway, the total amount I am out is $1400, never did receive the loan, the money I put into it, and now when I call Stanley is no longer working there. I sent e-mail to the president of ACE and supposedly they have found out there is a scam company using their letterhead, etc. I am probably never going to see my $1400 and will have to file bankruptcy because I am in even more debt and in a deeper hole. I have learned a very expensive lesson never ever give money to get money.

I was online looking for a small personal loan to help catch up on bills. I had received a text from a Julian ** saying, "Congratulations you have been approved for a $6000 loan with no upfront or ending fees." Giving me an Id# to call with. I was desperate so I called the number to hear what they had to offer. After speaking with this Julian everything seemed legit so I gave them my information. He said my credit was slightly lower than what I needed to receive the loan and that they could help me get my score up to what I needed it to be. They deposited money into my account and had me load those funds onto a Google Play card and send them the #s on the card and that will help my credit score go up. Never tried to get a loan before so I believed him. Figured it wasn't my own money so I wasn't losing anything over it.

After getting the cards and sending them the numbers, they said that it didn't bring my score up high enough and that I had to do it again. Three times over three days they deposited money and had me get cards and send the money back. After the third time I asked when I was going to get my loan. Had no response! I checked my bank account and it showed that I had $-713 in my account. They scammed me and stole my money! Don't believe what they tell you! Don't give out your banking information! Don't be trusting like I was! Now I'm dealing with all kinds of problems. Had to file a police report and now have to cancel my bank account and open a new one. And being out hundreds of dollars along with the whole reasons I needed the loan in the first place! If they want you to purchase cards at a store weather with their money or yours, it's a scam!

Ace Cash Express 1750 S Rural RD. #101 Tempe, AZ 85281 - The last time I went to make a payment about one month ago. I paid the teller which is the manager. Her name is **. I made a payment of $150. I had withdrawal $200 from my bank checking account. I went to the store and I gave her the money. She gave me back change which should have been $50. She counted the money back to me. When I got back home I counted the money and noticed I was missing $50. I went back to my bank to find out if the teller over there forgot to give me the $50. The manager from my bank looked into it with the teller. He told me she did give me the whole $200 which shows in their accounts when they count the money.

I went back to ** and told her my bank did give me the whole $200. I asked her if maybe if I dropped it the man behind me might have picked it up. I know I did not drop any money. I asked her if she can look at the camera to see and she said there is no camera there. She could not tell me anything because she really doesn't know. Then I went back to take a loan out for $300. She counted it to me but when I got home I counted the money and I was missing $20. I called ** and told her but she said no that she had counted the money in front of me.

So I went in to make a payment this other lady was there so I told her about what happened and she told me a lot of customers been telling her the same thing about this manager ** that when she counts the money to us she somehow drops some of that money down to the floor on purpose that next time like she tells the other customers, after she counts us the money. Be sure and count it back in front of her. I want this lady to give us all back our money and for the police to put her in jail.

My husband recently lost his job, so I was online trying to get a quick payday advance or a small loan to keep us afloat while he is looking. I have three kids and daycare expenses add up quick! I got a random text that read: "Hello, Congratulations. Your loan has been approved Application ID- **. Loan approved between $2000 to $6000. If you're still looking for a loan in the market Please call us on **. Thank You. Steven **. ACE CASH EXPRESS." So I called back, they had my home address, name, banking account, and routing numbers and my SSN.

He said how much of a loan was I looking for, I said, "Well what was I approved for," the amounts were very vague, he said $2000.00. for $183.00 a month. I said, "Ok, how soon can I get it into my account?" He said within a couple of hours. I said, "Ok, email me the paperwork and let's go." He said, "Well, I need your debit card number." I laughed and said, "Umm, not a chance." He said he needed to verify that the Chase Bank account was in fact mine and due to fraud, they had to make sure I wasn't taking out a loan in someone else's name. I explained that due to FRAUD, I would never give out my debit card number. He told me that I can call and cancel the card, or withdraw all the money from the bank account and he would deposit $500.00 into my account and all I had to do was send it back to him to verify that I have access to the account.

I said, "All you have to do is call my bank and verify my account!" He said he will never call my bank or my work line and then asked for just the last 4 of my debit card. I said nope. During this time I was reading reviews about how much they scam people and he said "well, all those reviews are bad." I said, "Yea, you are a scammer!" He said he would wait till I was done reading so we could continue processing the loan. I said I don't want a loan from him and if he messes with my account I'm calling the cops and hung up. I've never had a loan company ask for my debit card before receiving funds OR want me to return a deposit to verify my account. Are you INSANE?

First let me say the plus size young lady who works at Ace check cashing on Hwy 85 Atl GA Is very rude. Always on her phone or sitting in her Jeep. She never wants to help the other young man out, never smiles and seems to hate her job. Management should really send a undercover boss there. You will see why that location never has customers. I also notice if you are Spanish she don't mind but if you are ** she looks at you all rude like why you here. Although it is a mostly ** neighborhood maybe she should move to a area where she is more willing to offer better customer service.

I received an email stating that I was approved for a loan. I called the number and he was going over the terms. The FIRST red flag, he read out my bank account number that I use for bills and never provide to anyone. When I questioned this, he became defensive stating that I had entered it online. I KNOW I did not. The second red flag was asking for my debit card number and I told him I wasn’t comfortable with this. He began yelling and saying, "If you don’t want the loan then goodbye." Be careful of these scams!
