Avoid this company like the plague. Despite potentially having much higher ratings; our experience with this company has been awful. We asked the right questions; but received the wrong information. This was sadly not identified until after the contract was written. These folks are hands off and provide no assistance. The moment we discovered the numerous issues and reported them (ahead of our scheduled date of implementation), we waited over 30 days for an answer. The long awaited answer was “tough”. “Our finance team decided that since a contract was signed, we will require 90 days of payments to allow you out of a contract”.
We never implemented the system, never activated a single employee or provider, and are unable to utilize the software. However, we will be paying for 3 months of service for absolutely no benefit. We only identified 1 single ethical employee in the entire organization. They even debited our account a month ahead of the agreed term. Don’t waste your time. There are many other SaaS providers available whom are much less expensive, much more helpful, much more ethical, and will aid in the successful operation of your practice/clinic!

Absolutely horrible experience... It started day 1 with onboarding: Poor explanation and training, AMD put information in wrong silos; trainer was inept, did not know her own system and could not train my personnel properly, NOTHING worked as described and advertised, They cannot support occupational medicine formats. We've spent no less than 80 hours on the phone or web support trying to fix problems. We are 8+ months into this service and we still can't bill properly and they can't fix their own system.
My staff had to develop work-arounds to fix Advanced MD's problems. Any feature is an additional cost. The system may be "comprehensive" but it is also incredibly complicated and confusing to utilize. I've been in private practice for 20 years, used 8 different EMR systems, and I would I would NEVER recommend this software to anyone. I had to give at least one star to post the review... I'd rather give none. AMD should be ashamed of their product.

I wish I had searched for reviews on Advanced MD before we chose them for our EHR company, as I do now all the bad reviews I experienced for myself. We were looking for an all in one system and had been through so many demos that we were tired of the process and when we had our demo with Advanced MD we were sold by the sales guy who we would find out later lied about what the system could do. First of all it is the most expensive out there and they only offer packages that you have to pay for even though you don't use half the stuff but may need one module so you pay full price, if you want just one provider to do telemedicine you can't have it. It's an all or nothing option, so if you have 10 providers and 9 are in office you still have to pay $30 per provider plus $5 for each event for zoom which is free if you sign up yourself.
They nickel and dime you to death on everything you try to use and by the end of the month your $669.00 fee turns into $900-$1,000. The biggest issue I had with their service is that the tech support didn't even know how to operate the system so the services you pay for never worked, in fact we couldn't log into the system for weeks and they couldn't figure out why.
The most painful experience we had with them is we had online scheduling that people could go to our website and schedule an appointment. This was mostly for new business which we averaged around $40-$60K a month. I went on my honeymoon and so I wasn't there to supervise but when I returned we noticed our consults went dark. None in almost 50 days, come to find out they disabled our online scheduling so no one was able to book an appointment for almost 60 days, when we discovered this we called tech support and they couldn't figure it out, I had to immediately call my web designer to implement a new scheduling system to stop the bleeding.
I finally heard back from AMD 9 days later with a workaround solution but by then I had lost all faith in AMD because this was not the only issue I had. Although the most costly I lost close to $70,000 dollars using AMD but they did not care but offered two months credit if I paid for services not operable. When I declined they turned off my access and I could not access any of my patient data. So now we're struggling to find a way to gather that information, Although they turned off our access they are still charging us full service fee for the month even though we are locked out. If we want to get our patient data they want $3500 just to retrieve it for us. I hope that anyone who reads this does themselves a favor and stay away from them you will be happy you did. It almost put us out of business and we are still trying to recover today to get back to a profit.

Extremely dissatisfying experience. Expensive, you have to pay per provider, unable to keep several providers in the pool for staffing, just bare minimum. Numerous IT problems. Poor IT support. Wait time for a single call is up to 40 minutes on average. I would not have switched to AdvancedMD had I known. Multiple billing errors, after fighting with AdvancedMD billing for a year brought billing in-house, using PM side. Still unable to function with this company. Dreaming to drop it. Do not choose AdvancedMD.

This is by far the worse software I have ever used in my over 15 years of being in the mental health field. Constant IT glitches. Don't believe the hype about the types of helpful features they have in place, they do not work. My team hates the platform, I even had a new clinician decide to not stay on with our company due to how poor the platform functions. My billing manager's workload has increased as a result. IT team rarely ever is helpful, no one seems to know what they are doing. We will definitely be looking for another software company. Overall company seems to be unorganized and their billing side is constantly making errors in processing our claims. RUN!!!

I was in discussions with their sales department for several months before I was ready to purchase the program. They assured me their product was gong to be tailored to my needs. I had looked at several others that were user friendly. I wanted to look at the program but it was not available to preview but AdvancedMD promised to provide all the things I needed. If I had an opportunity to look at the EMR I would have never purchased it. Enormous program, very small font and microscopic icons, some are not institutive. I never did get to use it but I am paying for the contract. NASA could make this work.

Transferring to Advanced MD was the worst decision I made. I had countless issues with the billing department and patient statements are ALWAYS wrong. I had to do double the work just to correct the mistakes Advanced MD created. Patients would call upset because they were getting statements in the mail stating they had balances, when in fact AdVanced MD was not posted EOB's correctly. Now I am stuck with paying thousands of dollars every month with a company that causes me more issues, which requires more time.

The experience with AdvancedMD has been a nightmare from the beginning. They promised us it would do ABA billing, only to tell us after we purchased it sorry, we were wrong, it will not do ABA billing. (We were able to do a workaround that they could not figure out.) There are many glitches in the system. What is horrible is they charge you for "add-ons" and re-billing when it is due to the glitches. A few issues with the PM (many many more with the EHR portion):
- auto posting has rolled balances to wrong bucket (patient or stayed on insurance)
- auto posting has posted remits as if in network, w/o instead of roll to patient
- allowable fee schedules removed due to posting errors with allowables used for all posting even if claim is held or denied, had to remove all allowables for third party payers to avoid errors
- insurance reversals do not reverse write offs, have to manually correct insurance reversals
- what differentiates an 'allowable' versus a 'charge' fee schedule-what do they do in relation to charges, posting, and reporting?
Referrals- referrals can be easily changed or new referrals created throughout system in error when correcting visits/charges/claims (hard stops for changes or do not allow a change without following proper workflow)
- any change in a referral, episode, and/or appointment can affect all other components leading to errors; flags and/or hard stops to avoid forgetting addressing other components about a needed change/correction
- referral date ranges do not correlate when entering charges, you should be able to enter a charge after the DOS and select the referral with the appropriate date range, we often have to change the expiration date for a referral in order to attach it to a charge even though the DOS of charge is in the date range on referral
- when in charges or claims and need to change the referral, it is difficult to find the correct one. The pop up with the referrals does not show the auth number or CPT code and we could have many referrals for the same modality
- cannot default expired referrals to 'gray' out, then we cannot select them when working charges/claims
- referrals do not calculate properly for minutes when selected
- referrals with auth visits/charge amount/minutes should not allow more that entered to avoid denials or overages
Episodes-referrals-appointments- is there an ideal workflow for creating, correcting, updating and deleting to avoid issues
Reports- industry standard reporting not available without advanced insight-need raw data to create step report for payer analysis, charges negate payments when importing. I need data with service, charge, date of entry, date of service, payments (insurance and patient), balance (total, insurance & patient), date of insurance payment, payer, financial class, provider, patient
- held charges is a report, should be a work queue or in the collections module to work the claims
- collections module is glitchy-when scrolling through accounts is rolls to the bottom, cannot stop it, funnels claims into worklists instead of compiles
- financial reports (ex: Reimbursement Analysis-Summary) are wrong (private pay charges fall in the wrong financial class and carrier), asked how data is being pulled into report but no answer or resolution if an error
We have multiple reported calls with staff telling us that we have to pay for add ons that are due to the system having glitches. They also promise service and fixes that never happen. We have had the system for 18 disappointing months. We hired 2 additional staff just to try to keep up with the glitches in the system and finding workarounds or hand entering.

Thus far, I love Advanced MD's support team. When I call insurance companies, it's like "eh" but Advanced MD always helps me. They were very slow to get us going in the beginning and we paid more than I thought we should've paid for because we didn't have a system to use. We got one month's cost back though I was not happy that we didn’t get more than that. Despite those issues, their reps are very helpful and I appreciate them. All the training for the billing in the beginning, was wonderful.

We have a lot of times where the software freezes, or it takes its sweet time. And we've been in communication with the AdvancedMD team as well as our internet and tech people. There's something that I wish were a little bit more user-friendly. For instance, for the ultrasound tech. When her ultrasound comes over from the ultrasound machine to put into the patient's chart, she has to put them in one by one which is very, very time-consuming.
And she's been on the phone with them numerous times trying to get this figured out, and they can't seem to find another way to make it easier for her where it's just select all, and they all get inputted. But now that we're learning about it, it's okay. It's manageable now that we know a little bit more about the software. There's just a lot of hiccups that we wish could still get fixed.
The people there have been really good at calling back and trying to get things figured out. But when I do more calling of like client services about claims, I've had a couple calls where they weren't the greatest, meaning I wasn't getting answers and a lot of miscommunication. Things being said one way and then I try to do that, and then I'm told, "No, that's not right." One thing I don't like, and now we're on a better stance because we had to do a different way of communicating, is I was told I couldn't communicate via email because theirs wasn't HIPAA compliant, but then I found out it was.
But my biggest struggle is it's so hard especially with the billing part of it in the software, like there's no way for me to communicate with my AR besides doing an Excel spreadsheet that she did an issue tracker. And it's a lot for me like I have to call in to put in a case to just get a quick answer. So, that's some of the things I'm not a big fan of because it takes a lot of my time to call in, get a case, when I could just reach out to an AR.

First, I would like to explain that we have a fairly large behavioral health practice. With multiple locations. We were looking for EHR and PM in one system, that could offer analytics for our practice. Billing was truly our main focus, just like most practices. The "98% first pass billing" claim is truly the reason we went with this system, along with customer support in the US. We looked at many systems and now regret our choice.
Our revenue with the first month of billing was disastrous! The claim of 98% first pass billing was nothing short of a lie and when you call support, which by the way is on Mountain time and no help at 8am on Eastern time is a long wait, with average staff who have poor knowledge of the system are seldom able to offer you the assistance you need to solve your questions. Often you find yourself teaching them on a call.
The majority of our claims were denied related to modifiers loaded linked to procedure code, when I brought this to the attention of AdvancedMD staff, I was instructed that my staff would have to manually enter all modifiers because they had no other way of linking these to my fee schedule. I don't have to explain the time that this entails, especially with a practice our size. This again was not what was promised.
The scrubber was sold to be "the same as CMS" and would catch claims that were missing improper modifiers and diagnosis codes needed for clean claims. Well, that is not the full truth. I asked AdvancedMD why we had 90% rejected claims the first month of billing and only had a handful of exclusions, I was instructed that I may want to add "Exclusion Rules". This has been a great feature. However, it was utilized after rejected claims and you are responsible for developing these exclusions for your practice. AdvancedMD only uses one clearinghouse. We are seeing a delay of 7 days from the time we batch our claims until they are received by our carriers. Again, the sells pitch is they are "usually processed within 48 hours". This slows revenue. AdvancedMD has not offered any assistance in resolving this issue, again slow revenue.
Templates: "They are customizable" yes, at an outrageous cost by the configuration team. I would caution any practice with multiple templates to look at other EHR options. This was another issue for our practice. We use standardized screening tools and they were not a part of their provided templates. You will be sold that they have "almost every template you will need" but not for a behavioral health practice. After configuring your templates, you will find that they are not aesthetically pleasing on a printed version. That again will cost you, if you ask for AdvancedMD for assistance.
Analytics, this was also a feature that was important to our office. We track providers productivity each month and share with our staff. The reports we need to avoid manual reporting is not a possibility with this system. You can not pull a report per procedure code during a specified date range. This too fell short of the promises made to our practice. We have invested 90 days into this system and we will not be changing. I wish I had read a review like this, it would have wavered my choice to change to AdvancedMD. If you are a behavioral health practice and would like more in-depth information before making this choice, please don't hesitate to reach out to me to discuss further.

We're having little hiccups here and there, but so far, everything with AdvancedMD is going well. One of the hiccups was when we opened a patient, then the doctor couldn’t open the chart, nor could I. We never heard back in return to what could be the problem or the situation. Next time I checked, it was up and running again. But we never got any feedback in regards to what might be the situation that caused that problem. And we had to reopen a new chart again for the patient, and redo everything again. If the doctor is locked out of the patient EHR and PM, then there’s a big problem.

I am an RN and work for very busy OBGYN office. The software is fairly easy to learn however when they make their updates? It takes literally weeks for the system to work adequately again. We have had sketchy ability to document now for over 3 weeks-bandaid fixes are not working. Literally, we can open a “new note” for approximately 3hrs/day. We’ve had to pull out the old paper and pen to adequately chart our nursing notes. Service is horrible, our own IT support has had to deal with them and still no resolve. Interesting, I tried to write a review for their website and the computer freezes up on the last page!

We purchased AdvancedMD and began set up in November of 2018. It is April of 2019 and I can still not receive my ERA's from one of my largest payers. There were multiple errors on the implementation side that have created issues far into the implementation. I have been waiting for a return call from a supervisor for over a week on the latest issue. The product works very well for us. We have other similar businesses that we would like to use AdvancedMD for but we can't get the first setup completed so I will be looking elsewhere. I would not recommend AdvancedMD though the product works very well for us due to the issues with their implementation and EDI team.

I have been through several EMRs starting in residency. I was hoping this one would be more customizable, but in fact, it is the worst yet. It frequently crashes and I lose hours of work and have to redo it. It is an extremely click - heavy EMR, and slows me down considerably. The customer service is unhelpful at best. Also, be aware, as we are switching EMRs, AdvancedMD charges you a fee to have your patient information moved over to a new system. Would not recommend at all.

Since AdvancedMD went to a new Beta version, there have been more steps and clicks required and much less reliability. Three evenings in the past 2 weeks, I have been unable to finish charts in the evening as the system is extremely slow or unresponsive. Colleagues have had similar issues. I called today about this problem, no response. Tonight I am on call and receiving calls from ER about patients seen by colleagues today, but notes take 5-10 minutes to load. I cannot leave messages for colleagues or order scripts. And of course, there is no one available at AdvancedMD until Monday morning, so I may be without EHR for the entire weekend that I am on call. I have been using AdvancedMD for over 7 years. My company, Advanced Electronic Medical Billing, Inc located in Denville NJ has been a preferred partner offering billing service support to independent specialty practices. We have multi-specialty clients and have found the system they offer to be very comprehensive. Since it is a cloud based system, our clients handle front end functions such as appointment schedule and patient collections at time of visit, and we handle the charge review, insurance and patient collections. The system works well with our office and clients because it also has a built in messaging system which links communications within each patient account.
This is a great system for any practice who wants to work closely with their clients to view a/r data, and see all data at any time. We love the fact AdvancedMD offers access from IPHONE, IPAD, and desktop. Their support team is located in the USA and they have been wonderful in making sure both our needs as a billing service and our client needs re EHR have been met. We also work with practices who started using AdvancedMD and then decided to hand over the billing functions to our company. Advanced MD in these situations were great to work with and made the transition simple! Our clients were happy to transfer billing functions to us without having to learn a new appt scheduler and ehr system.
Very well versed with intricacies of AdvancedMD and architecture, we were able to jump in quickly as a preferred partner and streamline efficiencies and increase revenue immediately. Our clients also liked the fact that we provide on site in-person training on the AdvancedMD system which makes learning a new system less stressful! Highly recommend AdvancedMD system.

I had a very rocky on-boarding experience and they were training us poorly. They made it right, but I really had to fight for it. It took way more out of me than it should have. And it was way rougher than it should have been. And when one has a poor training, it really makes the start rough. We used AdvancedMD in our private practice for a year and it was very challenging. I have worked with multiple EMRs previously (both in the hospital and in the clinic) and am not an old fuddy-duddy who can't work a computer. I have worked with Cerner, Mediteck and Epic in the hospitals and Healthfusion, E-Clinical Works (ECW), and the VA system.
The real nightmare started when we tried to leave AdvancedMD. All that they were interested in was having me on take AdvancedMD to my new practice. Then I explained that I was moving out of state and just needed to have my charts so I could keep a record (for legal purposes) for myself and pass the patient records on to my patients' new docs. This is impossible according to AdvancedMD. They can only transfer to a new EMR, but that requires me hiring my own IT guy for "a few days'" worth of work. They won't provide this service. In order to even get your data, they will charge you $3500. The data that they provide is not searchable or usable, just (in my case) over 210'000 individual files with no way to tell which patients' data is in each file without opening every file.
When I was vetting them there was a completely different story. At that time they said that they would "never hold your records hostage, they are your records!" I still have no solution for getting my patient's records and AdvancedMD has told me that there is no solution for this problem. How is it possible that AdvancedMD has no solution for practices that want to leave? I don't believe that they are so short sighted, just that they don't want to make it easy to leave. Be warned if you go with this business!

The scheduling side and the practice management side is not too difficult but the EHR has been really cumbersome for our providers.
I also feel like whenever I’m talking to anybody, it’s just more of a sales pitch more than anything anymore. They want you to upgrade to this or upgrade to that. And then now we’re spending all this money in a service that honestly isn’t helping us much. It’s causing us more work than it is doing good for us. The last couple times since we’ve done this RCM a lot of blaming have put on to our office. We didn’t have these problems before we started RCM so it’s aggravating.

We have a medical practice that caters to varicose veins, cosmetics surgery and opioid addiction and we chose to have a full service with AdvancedMD. It was a good price for what it offered. Getting the software set up was easy and they have a helpful team when we started. If we can’t figure out how to do something they would log in and help us fix it and get it up and running. And even if it’s something that they couldn’t figure out initially they always get back and have it fixed and resolved. The customer service follow-up is good.
We like AdvancedMD. We’ve actually upgraded even recently so they’re also doing our billing part now which we absolutely love. The transition part was quick. They just had to go through and make sure everything was nice and clean because they didn’t set it up initially. We did. They double-checked everything and made sure everything on their end was connected.

We were unhappy with our billing company so we were in a hurry to get moving and the price of AdvancedMD was right. The knowledge of their sales people was fine but we just had a miscommunication on what we were actually purchasing. It was better that we were learning because it was a lot different than what we anticipated we signed up for. It has been a lot of extra work on our end but I like the system. They got little flaws but they are much better than our last billing company,

I'm a podiatrist, and Medicare was making a medical billing software a requirement for physicians, or else they are penalizing them. I submitted a request for information online and then we were shopping for some new software. Then I got a link I searched with a man who would tell the top five, and AdvancedMD ended up being on his list, too. We then sat through several presentations with several different companies, and I had them all submit some bids. AdvancedMD was in our top three picks and we ended up choosing them. We are very satisfied with them at this point, and we are just finishing up our trying in right now. They have given us a very thorough training for eight weeks now, and I'm really impressed with them.
We use their software where they do our billing service. It is all Cloud-based so they just negotiated the contract with the doctor. They agreed to it right and we then moved forward. The process was quite easy, and everything was electronic. The sales staff were very pleasant, courteous, professional, easy to work with and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

Our company is an outpatient as well as a general practice company. We looked into medical billing software because it was a much-needed application. We demoed three different medical billing software. We had Greenway, AdvancedMD and drchrono. AdvancedMD had an open API and that’s what attracted us to them because they had a few add-ons that were new to it so it was a brand new service-learning. We got the biggest one they had. As far as the implementation, it was absolutely amazing. Nicole was our implementation specialist. For the practice management side, she was phenomenal. Janet was the EHR. She was phenomenal as well and very easy going. They worked with me while I was deconstructing one practice and starting a new one. They were very flexible and wonderful.

I have the RCM contract. EHR: HER is OK to you. But they multiple unscheduled maintenance during night time. Scheduled maintenance is only for 15 minutes and is very occasional. Unscheduled maintenance is very common and last hours. When you call them they make lot of excuses. Billers are inexperienced. Lack knowledge of local insurance and Medicaid requirement. I have complained to them multiple times that they cannot bill medical clients for unpaid balances. It is more than a year and they continue to bill my Medicaid patients. Very bad on follow up after filing claims. My claims have gone past 95 days filing deadline without any update from Advanced.
You have to open a case with concerns that there is no claim on file with insurance and it already past filing deadline. Then they will file the claim and claim gets denied. Then we open case again to request them to appeals. They file the appeal and appeal gets denied. They also do not apply payment correctly and you request them to fix the errors, they will not respond. AdvancedMD does not take responsibility for claims being denied for going past deadlines. If you complain they do not respond to your emails.

We got the Practice Management package from AdvancedMD. The software is good. It is not as seamless as I thought it would be, but we are in negotiation to switch to AdvancedMD EHR which will alleviate all of those issues. The videos were excellent and really informative. We are not the easiest but they are fantastically accommodating. Jordan, the sales rep, was very good at getting us to AdvancedMD and answering all of our questions. I did the training with Chris, and it was very good. And now with billing, I’m with Cavene. Both of them has been amazingly helpful. And then, I sometimes talk with Brad on chat, where we ask for support. The customer service has been excellent. I would recommend AdvancedMD.

We have the scheduling from AdvancedMD and the software itself is okay. The training portion, however, was not very effective. It was difficult because it was on a conference call. We were listening through a speakerphone and then the other lines were beeping through. So every once in a while, we couldn’t hear what they were saying because of the phone beeping. And then things weren’t explained thoroughly. It would make things a lot easier if that was improved upon. We had to figure out a lot on our own and, overall, we felt like we were doing most of the legwork. But the people we’ve spoken with have been excellent. They walked us through whatever needs to be done and any questions that we’ve had, they’ve been very helpful in answering and showing us how to get to whatever we were trying to do.

I work in a pediatric office and we use AdvancedMD for all the billing. The doctor here knew somebody who was using it and it got good ratings. Their staff was wonderful. They always solve the problems when you call their number. However, using AdvancedMD needs little more work than I thought. In fact, it's the hardest thing we have because we had somebody who was doing everything before. The doctor would just put down what she did and then name you all the modifiers. Now, we’re more involved with it. An improvement would be a separate class on coding to help the doctors so that everything is clean and we’re getting everything we should be paid for.

And then we also have a surgery center where we have other doctors come in with the orthopedic specialties performed procedures there. So, we use AdvancedMD for facility billing at our surgery center and for our neurosurgeon here at the clinic. AdvancedMD is the benchmark when it comes to EMRs and practice managers. So, they came highly recommended.
We signed up with their RCM services on our clinic side and we were trying to get the same deal going for our surgery center. We actually had another RCM service that I decided to turn their agreement and switched it over to AdvancedMD. And part of that was because of the training that I got from Nicole, a staff from AdvancedMD. She was great and did all the implementation and I thought it was really nifty and informative. It was good and I liked it. Garrett, another staff, was also great and they were very knowledgeable. Every time I called them up and asked some questions, they were always prepared. I searched online to find out what all online medical records were out there. I happen to like the clinical work so I picked AdvancedMD. But they were very pricey upfront. They wanted a lot of cash to deem and to begin to set it up. On a brand new clinic, I’m paying for everything on my own and AdvancedMD was not something that was visibly an option for me. But their reps were willing to work with me. They gave me two months free and gave me a sliding scale upon starting out just in case we had a low patient volume to start. I watched a dozen webinars on different companies that had software and I thought theirs was very user-friendly.
Their sales staff was good, however, the people that helped implement it was a little slow. I agreed with them in November. By January 1, it was supposed to be up and running but it was not. In fact, they’re still working out the kinks on the EMR side of it. So, I’m not happy with that part and they didn’t even do anything for three weeks. I know now why I had two months for free Also, the salespersons said to me, “There’s only so many others and we’ve got a lot of people we have to see and we have sided with you in whom we’ve got to spot.” I didn’t like that part. I felt like if they were that low staffed, they should have more people to take care of and do the job.
They had a lot of videos that we could watch online, which we did utilize and take advantage of. They would call us to give us training but we were way ahead of them because we already watched all of that. We had the clinic up and running for two weeks before they even gave me a password so we can e-scribe and that was a pain. But they’re finally getting the bugs worked out. If they would’ve had it up and running like they said they would the first of January and we started seeing patients on the third, I shouldn’t have been doing paper charts. They didn’t even bother to turn it on until we were at the end of January. By that time I had 75 charts that I had to go and put in, which was ridiculous.
I would tell my friends to ask for more than two months free. On the third and fourth month, I already have to pay $500. I signed a contract with them and it’s a year contract. That was a nice part wherein I wasn’t stuck with a lot of money upfront and I wasn’t stuck with them for a long length of time. That was one of the other reasons I went them in case I decided for some crazy reason I did not like them. Nevertheless, their helpdesk has been really awesome. If we had a particular claim that we’ve had an issue with, we have been able to call the helpdesk and they have been really good. I liked their software. It is easy to use, very user-friendly. It’s just really sad that there are people that I signed a contract with that didn’t follow through which was really frustrating. Overall, I’m satisfied but I’m not 100% happy. They still got a long ways to go.

I've had a very good experience with AdvanceMD. We are a cardiology/interventional cardiology practice. The third-party who was initially managing the office introduced AdvanceMD since they have had a few clients who use AdvancedMD. In 2012, when they took over and wanted to manage the practice, they brought in AdvanceMD. Our package has the scheduling, practice management, as well as the billing modules. It is always better to have the practice management associated with the billing or the billing associated with the practice management so that the data are in conjunction. Moreover, it is much easier to pull the data back and forth.
We did not purchase anything as they don’t sell the software. They own the product and we pay a monthly fee to use it. Signing up for the service was very easy. Their reps were all very professional and cooperative. Moreover, they all have the knowledge to work on the product they are offering. Overall, I have had a good experience with them. I've had no issues with regards to the data storage and putting the patients into the system. The reports are excellent and the software is much easier to use as well as very comprehensive. I wouldn't change to any other software which is available in the market at this point in time. Any person right out of medical school who wants to open their solo practice would require guidance from a team, which any software company would have, to settle issues initially. I would recommend using AdvanceMD. The company is excellent to work with.

We purchased AdvancedMD in October last year and have been using it since then. When I first got hired on by the doctor, he asked me to look for a program. I started looking online. I compared and looked at the Youtube videos. AdvancedMD had everything that I was looking for. It was simple and very user-friendly. I initiated everything with Rob. The doctor I worked for wouldn't decide whether he wanted it or not. Rob kept on and never let me go. He said that he'd be there until the doctor makes up his mind. I even asked him if I could purchase it on my own and just get the billing part if the doctor did not want to do anything. He told me, “Absolutely, just let me know.” Moreover, he was very helpful in every single way.
Once the doctor agreed to the purchase, Shailo became my contact and she was awesome. It has been a great experience and AdvancedMD has been very helpful. Not once have I ever thought, “Why did I ever purchase this system?” We use the scheduling, the billing, the EHR, and the electronic prescriptions. We purchased everything except the feature that lets us do an online face to face with patients through an iPad because a lot of our patients are elderly and are not familiar with or just don't want to learn how to use iPads. The support I have received has been wonderful. Everyone sends me updates and forwards me emails. They tell me that they are there if I ever need them. I highly recommend AdvancedMD to any physician. It’s one of the best investments that the doctor has done in his practice.

However, it was a little rocky at the beginning of our implementation training. The trainer wasn’t a good fit and when we got moved to a different trainer, it was different between night and day. I can’t say enough about Mary. We were not in the same time zone as our first trainer, so that made scheduling a little difficult sometimes. It would be a good idea to look if they keep everybody in the same time zone. There were also inconsistencies in the form templates. They did not have the same fonts, not even the same information between similar templates. Our practitioner just timed in. The information in the system is outdated and also in the health files. The health files are also not current with what where we’re at. It’ll show a screen that looks not even close to what we’ve got. But overall, AdvancedMD meets our needs.

I’m in internal medicine practice and I opened an office almost two years ago. When I started looking for EMRs, some friends recommended another program and I went with that without looking into anything else. But two months into it, I was miserable, so I started looking again. I was coming from Epic which was too expensive to be afforded by one physician office. I did almost eight EMR demos but I picked AdvancedMD. At that time, the manager from AdvancedMD, who was also the person who introduced me to their EMR, knew that I was burnt out and so he helped me the best he could and offered me a good deal. I needed AdvancedMD’s Practice Management and EMR, so those were the first things I went with. Then almost a year and two months later, I decided to be with their billing as well. I love the whole deal.
AdvancedMD was complete as compared to other EMRs and if I have a question and I call, their support system is on it. It was a rough start, but I understand that because if you've used an EMR and liked it, and then change your EMR to something crappy, and then want to change, you always second guessed if you were making the wrong decisions. The process with AdvancedMD was of moderate complexity. There are too many clicking, and I have to go from page to page to get the information. I go from one problem list, separately check the review button, close that page, and then go on to the second one. And then when everything confirms, I have to click on the okay.
I would rather prefer a summary page that would give me the whole overview of what a patient is having or what allergies they have, and also give me the patient’s picture, demographic, their problem list, their recent labs or medication list, so I can see and check, then review. AdvancedMD can change many things that can make our lives easy and there are some steps that they can eliminate. There is room for them to improve. If you give them a suggestion, they do work on it. I’m very pleased with the decision of going with them and I already recommended them to a group of friends who are looking for a new EMR.

The billing software we had was a DOS system. I had to change to something and AdvancedMD was a recommendation. We got a practice management package back in 2012, because that’s all that was needed at that time. The people are fabulous. They'd do a demo and we could see the product, play with it, and we could ask them questions. Back in 2012, they gave us 20 hours of training and walked us through everything. They’re all extremely professional.
Now, it’s mandated that everybody have EHR, so we just bought their EHR program as well. The gal that set us up for it got transferred, so she’s no longer in our district. However, she said that she started this, and she's going to follow it through. So, she’s still working with us. They are that comfortable. We’re going into a partnership where other people have other software, and I can’t tell how I have been the AdvancedMD’s advocate.
The support system is fabulous as well. One can just pick up the phone and dial a number. Or if he's a techie, he can go online, do live chat and all this stuff. They have a whole library of videos to learn. They’re over and above league than anybody else have. It’s not cheap, but it’s not the most expensive either. We get what we pay for. One more thing was that they had an obnoxiously horrible hold music. I complained about it enough and they changed it. It was a national company. And the way I got it, I told them to call the CEO and put him on hold and watch how fast that hold music was, and it quickly happened.

We are a pain management clinic and have been an existing AdvancedMD client for seven years. Purchasing the software was easy. We’ve had the practice management side and we recently chose to change our current outsource billing company and looked to them for their own in-house billing since they are the software that we use. We've already set up with the main core components, and so adding modules was not a problem. So, we just added our own RCM, the billing side.
The people have been easy to get in contact with and to correspond back and forth to keep us informed of the progress and status. We have been assigned a very informative contact person that is doing on-hand training with us weekly. And so, that’s been a very smooth transition. We are redefining how much on-hand experience that we have in our billing sector. And so, that has played a big part in our accounts receivable. We’re hoping to get that under control. AdvancedMD is a very user-friendly program that’s easy to learn either by oneself or with tutorial training. It has the online tutorials, as well as a support staff that one could pick up the phone and call.

Purchasing was very easy and the sales rep was awesome, attentive and helpful. They’ve worked through some things that a new company would need to work through which I appreciated. We got the practice management package and use the system every day. We’re transitioning from our old software to AdvancedMD. It's been a little challenging because we have some providers that are a little hesitant to change, but we’re hoping that within the next year we’ll be fully on the AdvancedMD platform. We were leaving one hospital system and starting our own practice and we needed something better than what we were using. And so our IT group did a research on several of them. They showed us several and we liked AdvancedMD the best. My big interaction was with Erin, one of the implementation people, and she was fantastic. We had a really short timeline of getting up and running and anything I needed I could email her and she emailed me back. She was very flexible with her time schedule for what we needed and when we did those conference calls. She was extremely helpful. Now that our 90 days are up, I have had to contact the communication or the IT troubleshooting people. Once I did the online chat thing and that was easy and very helpful. I still have an issue that we’re going back and forth emails so that we can try to get it figured out. They haven’t gotten to the bottom of it yet, but that’s the only bad part.
We have the practice management scheduler and the EHR. And out of all the systems that I’ve used, it is the easiest and most user-friendly. It streamlines all of the things that are time-consuming like calling your patients. It texts them for you. And then on the EHR side, there is nothing that is perfect out there, but it’s a lot easier than a lot of other systems. The thing that I really like about AdvancedMD is that they always continue to try to make it better and new all the time. And that is really important to us because we don’t want to purchase something and then we’d be super outdated three years later. With this system, that is not going to be the case.

AdvancedMD was the first one I talked to and I got everything that they offered - the EHR and the billing software. However, we’re doing our EOBs online and that’s taken quite a while. I’m doing the training now with the trainer and she's really good. There’s a couple of glitches in the system that has kinda messed up our billing. Our problem is I cannot put any copay in there. Because if I put a copay amount in there, even if they have a copay, then the procedure code does not show up on the claims.
Also, when a patient comes in and they have a parent as the guarantor, I put that in the system. If I forget to put the relationship and if I just put “self” for their mom or dad, then the bill goes out to the parents. It goes out to the insurance company under the parent’s name and not the child’s name even though everything in there is under the child.

Plus, I take care of any problems like exclusions, unbilled claims, and anything that we get back from an insurance company that they can't cover for one reason or another.
There are a things that are a little bit frustrating in the software that comes with changing programs. For example, I'm in a patient window and I've scrolled down to a line way down on the history tab. If I look at their insurance tab then go back to the history tab, I will be back on the top line instead of where I was at before. However, we've gotten used to working with it. It's helpful. We're a primary care physician's office for internal medicine, and the owner of the company and the previous biller no longer agreed on how to proceed in business. The owner also thought it was a good time to bring billing in-house anyway. AdvancedMD was a name that came up a lot during research for a good billing software. We've been with them a little over six months now but frequently, it's difficult to get a hold of people who you are supposed to be able to talk to. Either they're not answering their phones or they don't respond to emails. But the software itself is fantastic. It has a reputation for being incredibly comprehensive and it is. It also lends itself well to small and large practices so it was ideal because we're hoping to expand and I didn't want to have to change again. It also has an EHR integrated very nicely with the EHR we are using.
We signed on for six months with their RCM department and then the agreement was to transition to just paying for the software after six months once we got our feet on the ground. Part of that package deal was four hours of free training on how to do billing, particularly how to process claims from start to finish. But when we tried to get our four hours, they tried to tell us we had to pay for another three months of RCM. Plus every time I talked to a new person, they had no idea what we were talking about. This was problematic because we're talking about people I spoke with often enough that I knew them by their first name.
The sales rep did not pass along appropriate information to the RCM team, which did not appear to be communicating in any way with the people who do the filing of the claims as well. When I was assigned a new sales rep to handle our transition process, that poor guy had no idea what the heck was going on either. It was really frustrating. There was a lot of back and forth going on when our contract was almost up and we had to really bend over and go through a lot of hoops and barrels to get what we had agreed on. But when I finally got in contact with their training person, got through all that registration and actually got started doing the four hours, the people were great.

All of three of them are with nurse practitioners and MDO providers. The purchasing process was very good. They sent us a quote and they stuck with the quote that they sent to us. They set up everything that they said they would set up with us. I had 11 hours of training for each office that I was with. They did that on a weekly basis, about two hours at a time. Then it’s final when I signed off that I was trained. You're released to technical support if you need anything.
We use the EHR because we use Practice Fusion. We just use the billing software. One of my offices has had it since 2014, I had one in 2015 and I just started. It's a good system and I haven’t run across anything that I've had issues with. We had one practice that was with AdvancedMD who decided to go with Athena for nine months. Then they went back to AdvancedMD because Athena was so bad. I highly recommend AdvancedMD. Price-wise, it's right in there with everything else and they draft your payment right out of your account every month and you don't have to mess with it. If you’re looking for a billing software that has awesome technical support and is user-friendly, it's the best.

We went through several software and we continually got stuck on things that were offered and things that we needed and then things that they didn’t do. We usually find one that offers everything and although AdvancedMD doesn’t offer everything that we have right now either, there are other ways to work around those little hiccups. With the other systems, we're not able to be in two different locations and log in to see and schedule for other locations. We needed that for the cloud but that was too much for our DC program and AdvancedMD does that. I love the customer service and the guy named Jason was just fantastic.

We have a multi-specialty clinic and right now, they perform the osteopathic manipulative treatment. We have practice using our EHR and AdvancedMD was always suggested as being one of the top billing software companies. We were calling at the end of June to get a quote and we received an email and a phone call from the rep from AdvancedMD. We were about to go with another company but AdvancedMD gave us a breakdown of what they had to offer and then they said they had an end of the fiscal year type of deal where they were waiving the initial setup cost. That discount ended up being the deciding factor of why we went with them plus the availability of the team, which was kind of 24/7 with that 800 number.
The reps answered all my questions and had lots of good training with it. Erica and Brea were two of those that helped me, and they were always patient and very responsive. We were going back and forth, talking to my boss and owners of the company and their side of the company. Communication went pretty well especially since it was a last-minute thing and people probably stayed late working on the deal. But everyone was available to talk which was the nice part and they made sure everything panned out right from what we were talking about to what got signed. In summary, the whole experience was fast and efficient.

We liked the functionality of AdvancedMD and got their PM and EHR products. The sales staff was great and easy to work with. He answered most of our questions and if he couldn’t, he found out the answer for me and got back to me. We were also impressed by his knowledge of the product. It was a good decision to partner with AdvancedMD.

We practice General Surgery and AdvancedMD was recommended to us by another physician's office. At that time, we wanted to bring our billing back into the office from a billing service that we're using. We're not happy with them so we wanted to look at upgrading. The recommendation helped us choose this software and then we did the research.
The program was so comprehensive and user-friendly that we were really impressed with everything that it has to offer. The sales staff was also very supportive. They answered all our questions. We had a very good comprehensive conference call with them together with the person who handles our IT to make sure we had everything that we needed computer-wise and that, it supported the system.
We bought the Practice Management software and we've been using it since July. And we had a pretty quick turnaround. We did it in about five weeks time and the transition experience was excellent. Molly, who was our guide through the transition was fantastic to work with. While we had an excellent experience overall, my only observation is that they’re not great at getting back with you. I've left a message with their customer support department a couple of times and then there’s been a long hold asking for a callback. I never received one. Other than that, they've been very helpful when you get somebody on the line.

My wife and I were starting a medical practice and it’s a very small business where I’m the office manager and she’s the doctor. So, we looked around at what medical billing software was available and purchased the Practice Management package from AdvanceMD around four months ago. We chose them because of a lot of factors – price, reviews and one of the big reasons was that it’s integrated with modern medicine, modmed EMA. We heard that their electronic medical records software was excellent, but the management wasn’t as good when it came to the practice.
But there are a lot of things that AdvancedMD has and one is to check the eligibility of the insurance. We can get online and go to the insurer’s website. We can put the member’s ID and date of birth and get their coverage and co-payment. However, there are insurance companies here in Hawaii and for the big one, we can’t check the eligibility and it’s difficult. The other insurance company also has a nine-digit subscriber ID followed by a dash then 0 and then a number -- 01, 02, 03, but AdvancedMD automatically deletes the dash. If I get online and try to check eligibility without a dash, it won’t check but it checks straight out with the dash. There are some frustrations that we had with the software, but whenever I called support, they have been outstandingly helpful.
On the other hand, there were a lot of people who work at AdvancedMD that don’t know the product very well. We found out they just assigned a name and an address in Seattle, but we’re in Hawaii. So, when we got the first bill, it was very hard to find somebody in the company who had the authority to change the address. It was stupid.
Also, the training was online through GoToMeeting where we sat and had a conversation with the person who went through the software. But it was lacking. The people who did the training didn’t know what they were doing behind the scenes. They could tell you to do some steps every day but couldn’t answer your questions about it. We also got to a point where we hired a biller. My wife and I both took the training together early in the morning because we’re in Hawaii, but we turned it over to our biller who is now using the software on a daily basis and we just check the files on it. But there’s no doubt that most of the people we ran into at AdvancedMD were courteous. And overall, it’s a decent software that eases the job.

There was a lot of back and forth about integrations. In the beginning, we were able to get somebody who was confident and able to help us along, but it's not the case now. The only trainer that we've been given seems like he doesn't have a lot of experience with the program. Everything that we ask, he has to go back and find an answer for it. He doesn't get back within a reasonable time. I feel like our program has a glitch because he told me that I can do certain things and yet I tried to do those things and my button was grayed out. AdvancedMD is best geared towards billing services and we decided to go with that one. We had the PM system with the eligibility option. Purchasing was easy and the implementation was well-planned and laid-out very well. We watched several videos to learn how to use the system in preparation for our training sessions. We saw that there were other benefits such as electronic remittances, being able to check eligibility right there in the software program and being able to integrate it with our EHR system. Even with regard to the way statements are generated, it seemed like a simpler billing. Also, it's clear that it's got so much to offer. But going from one billing and encoding and software program to this one which is much more advanced and evolved, I feel that the training portion of it could be a little bit more in-depth. I understand that there are other trainings that they offer, but they're offered at another cost and it would have been great to know that in the beginning.
But their support staff was great. I tend to stick with the same two or three representatives because they’re really awesome, patient and great at what they do. We used to have a full-service RCM in the office but it's too much overhead. I had AdvancedMD for the front desk for the management. Then I did the EMR with Advanced, which was simpler and easier. I tried to maintain with Modernizing MD and the doctors didn’t like it. It didn’t have enough vocabulary and codes that we were supposed to choose from, only the nice digital software. I was in relief that I got AdvancedMD. It was much better for the EMR and I was happy in the management and we like it.
The only thing that I wish would be easier was the billing. Every morning, we have to go to our lock box and send some information to the billing company. I was willing to give AdvancedMD the key, so they can go to the business account and see everything they need to see. They would know what to post and all the EOBs that they can pull from there. But it's not 100% sourcing out. They're always going to need something from the staff to do.
When a biller bills in AdvancedMD, because it's a computer and it's an advanced system, if you forgot to put the date of birth or some minor things, the system will spit it out right away and tell you, “You forgot to fill this out.” If you want to source it out to the insurance company and they need the supporting documents, this is when the billing company is supposed to kick out. That will come up in the rejection. There is a running alert called Run Alerts. There are a few rejections that AdvancedMD didn’t work on. In the system or the alert, there is a high number. We go in there and we don’t understand why they don’t go on everyday base and fix what the system spit out like they're supposed to.
It's a doctor’s nightmare to hear that the billing company is saying you didn’t submit the claim in time and then you lose the money. It’s horrible because we have a lot of Medicaid. Unfortunately, we barely get paid from them. Somebody should look at our account every day and see what they need in order for us to get paid. A doctor relies on the employers to pay him. So if the biller’s not billing correctly and there is no one to do collection, appeal and reconsideration, we don’t get paid. But we're obligated to pay all the employees.
We just started, so I'm going to give AdvancedMD more time. We used to bill ourselves from Advanced, we know how to go to the claim center and to check what's up. But they don’t go there every day and the exclusions have some numbers that weren't worked out. It will be nice and refreshing if a billing company will give us attention and look at the accounts every day and work on the agent report. It's very important because we get burned by the wrong employees in the department. But if you're a patient and you're coming to the front desk and we put your intake, the schedule and reappointment, AdvancedMD management is perfect. I’ve been working with this department for two years now, no problem, 100%.
When I took Advanced, I had Medisoft which has terrible technical support. Their software is working for chiropractors, not for orthopedic surgeons. I switched it to AdvancedMD and it's been wonderful. It has so many other features that are there, and it's cloud-based. When it comes to the EMR of Advanced, it's cloud-based too. So anywhere you go, you can log in and see what you need to see in regards to the patient. Overall, AdvancedMD is user-friendly on all counts. As for the billing, it's a different division for AdvancedMD to improve for the peace of mind of the doctor. I will recommend them to anyone that has the software that I worked with before.

I'm a gynecologic surgeon and I have a solo practice. I signed up with Practice Fusion as my EMR. They gave me the choices of who to work with for billing, and I chose AdvancedMD because I was impressed with the thourough presentation made by their sales rep. I signed up for the standard package and I've been using it since late January. They also have an EMR, which I didn’t even know about until later on, but I've just signed up for the straight billing part that would match up with my electronic medical record. I needed something that worked with my existing EMR. They have a well-established collaboration with mine. So I thought it was a great way to go with something that was already being together.
I knew nothing about billing systems. When I go in to see a doctor, they assign a CPT code and a diagnosis list to my visit for my surgery. I knew how to do that. But as far as the gathering and entry of insurance information, manipulating software to enter and manipulate that data, and most of all, what comes after that in terms of the ERAs and EFTs and all the complicated connection points that I have to make within the system in order to eventually get paid, I knew nothing about. So I've had to go from scratch. Some of that is in their preview of services and they help me with it, but some things, I’m totally on my own. I've had to learn what they were going to do for me, what they were going to help me with and what I was going to be on my own and it's been very difficult.
I've been very happy with a lot of it. But they tried to teach it all to me over the telephone and it just doesn’t work. I needed a class or a seminar setting where I'd go and they'd tell me how bad it's going to be. But a lot of it has nothing to do with AdvancedMD but with the healthcare system that we have and the insurance companies that are causing all the problems.
AdvancedMD has a good system and they try as hard as they can, but I would have done something way different if I had to do it all over again. I wouldn't take their word for it that all I had to do was sign up for 12 hours of telephone counseling and I was going to be all set. I was too naive. They should have told me this was going to be hell and then I'd better get ready for it. They should offer immersion where we go for a weekend someplace and have some experts tell us what we're going to have to go through.
One of their PR people called me two hours ago and we spent about 20 minutes on the phone. They were going to fix some things I asked them to work on. They kept asking, “Was this a problem with your implementation? Was this a problem from lack of training?” I said, “Listen. We covered a million things in our training. These may have been things that we covered but there are some things wrong with your software. You got to fix these things.” They agreed and said they would have it fixed by the sundown today. I gave them something else to advise me about, which was an explanation I needed about how to work on a certain part of their software. There are a lot of other things that are problems, but I took the things that were most concerning to me at this time.
I put all these into an email a couple of days ago because this is getting to a point of serious difficulty. I've been working for five months. I've put through $100,000 of charges and I've gotten paid $2,000. They can't run a business that way. Some of it is my fault because I didn’t understand certain things. So, I take responsibility for that, but it has not been an easy experience with AdvancedMD.

We previously had a different medical billing system and we were not happy with it so we shifted. And through references, we went with AdvancedMD and got their PM package. Their sales team was really great in answering questions and we've been really happy with them. But I'm not sure if the training was nice as it could have been. They have videos and an implementation specialist who worked with us to teach us how to use the system but there's no way to really figure out what the problems are initially.
So, when an insurance company makes a payment, the amount that they are not paying, that's not allowed is adjusted off. But the software was not automatically doing that adjustment off. I discussed it with my implementation specialist and she told me how to change the master file so it would be adjusted off. But that didn't work. And so, I ended up calling the help desk and they have been fantastic. She told me one-half of what I had to, but she didn't tell me the second half of what I have to do in order for adjustment to really work.
But their help desk reps were good. And I only had to wait on the phone for two to five minutes which is quick, but during peak times, it's longer. So far, after the initial learning period, it's been great but there are some bumps on the road and they need to provide a bit more training unless they consider calling the help desk part of training. But overall, we're happy with the system right now.

Our medical billing software prior to AdvancedMD was Kareo. We were changing it because we were adding a new provider. We wanted to make sure that we could get a report out of the system so that we can see how much he was providing money-wise. We got the PM and it was integrated very quickly. We started using it in April. Our trainer was very good. The only thing that should have been more in-depth is the front office staff and helping them do the insurance, how to get the payments into the correct system and how to do the payments so that they would not interfere with the backend of the job. But we had a representative that helped us navigate through the system. If we have any other issues, we navigate to the help desk and get that all straightened out.
We usually wait on the phone for a response or if we have a general question, we can do an online chat with them. It's easy and they usually get it done quickly. So far, it's been good, other than the integration process of getting the EDI agreements done so that we could close down our old system and utilize our new one and the slowness of it because it's web-based and it's all in the cloud. But they're working on that with their people. We've recommended this product to other doctors because it is a doctor-based product. It is easy to use, simple and straightforward. It's a lot easier than our Kareo system that we use now. There's a lot more reports so I can do a lot more tracking and collections with the product which is nice. I would tell my colleagues to try it if they need something similar

Forget it. Let's rip up the contract. Let's just go with another company, and we'll start all over.”
All they need to do is start taking care of all these extra fees and get us rolling. I'm not totally disgusted with them because I know they have the potential but I'm upset about things being slow and inefficient. When I call, I expect a callback. I don’t expect to keep on calling them but I feel like they're ignoring me by not answering my calls. So now, I got in contact with the CEO’s office. That’s how bad it had to go through. I'm not satisfied with their services right now.

We've had AdvancedMD for a year now. They were highly recommended to us and we heard that this is one of the best ones. After we met with them and went over the system, we decided it would meet our needs through it. We had the package where they do posting payments for us and then statements for us. But we've recently chosen another package where they have to do a lot of the stuff for us.
The sales staff went over what we were gonna need and then they got us all the information. Also, they're helpful when we have a question with the training that we did. And when I reach out to them, they get the problem handled. We also do back and forth emails to some of them too. It went smooth once they set everything up for us. And then, we took over with the billing, patients and demographics. However, at first, when we started doing it, it was so different from the other that we didn't approve. But once we've used it and we realized what all it can do, we're pretty satisfied with it.

We're a physical therapy practice. We went with DuxWare through Optimus 5 years ago and then just this year, Optimus informed us that they weren't promoting DuxWare anymore. They were moving on the AdvancedMD software with their packages so that's where we did the transition. The overall process of purchasing the software was easy. It was all done in a timely manner and the transition to do the upstart only took about four weeks. They did a very good job with working with me. Jonathan who's one of their reps went through the software with us and did the demos. My trainer, Shana, was very informational and she's still helping. We utilize the AdvancedMD PM for the billing and our biggest standout was the excellent reporting processes for us to utilize. The software has some hiccups with Mac though.

I had subsequently tried to have a conversation with another billing company but I felt they weren't looking at my needs. I was looking for someone to do my billing, and when I spoke to the salesperson from AdvancedMD, I was impressed by his transparency to say, "This is something you could do yourself. As a provider coming out of the box, you need to save all the money that you can. Why don't you start with this first? Then if you feel like you're overwhelmed or if you feel like business is blooming, then you could move on to giving us the billing part of it as well." That's what made me go with AdvancedMD because I appreciated that he wasn't trying to sell the program. He was confident that this was one of the best programs out there. He made it easy for me to make the decision.
I'm on solo practice and I share my stuff with another provider. Some of the training sessions were difficult because we had to do it during the daytime when the trainers are at lunch or getting ready to be with the other provider. It was hard to get my other two employees fully trained. I had more free time that I could do training at any time but AdvancedMD had to have it done at certain dates when they would have availability. Also, the EDI agreements part was confusing. Initially I was with one particular EDI specialist who had put my EDI agreements together, but they had my wrong PTI number so I had to start all over again. Then that guy's position changed and I was with a new person. But I've already finished my implementation period of time and I'm on my own now. I still have access to the helpdesk for questions that may pop up. I had a very awesome, helpful and patient person who trained me and did the implementations.

I have lost time and business dealing with AdvancedMD. The issue that I have is that I have not been able to use the software. I have spent many hours on the phone with different people at the company who blame the last person I spoke with for setting up the software wrong. For example, I was initially set up on the ICD 9 system. The system was not working. Then after being on the phone for hours someone else at the company said, "The ICD 9 system is the wrong system you should be on the ICD 10 system." The hours on the phone, not getting the right information, and the absolute rudeness of the upper management caused me to ask to be let out of my one year contract. That was met with calls and emails not being returned, being asked to contact one person then another person, and finally a threatening email of legal action if the contract is not paid.

The company is non-responsive to a serious complaint. The problem is too long to describe here but the short version is that AMD slipped an significant price increase into a request to add a provider. The cost should have been $150. But with the added clause slipped into the very bottom of the invoice the cost increased almost 100%. I have been trying for months to get this straightened out and no one in management will address it.

We are a counseling agency and our practice management software was not able to handle the size we had grown to so we started researching, called about five companies, had them give us demos and we really appreciated all of AdvancedMD's features. We did the scheduler and the practice management but none of the electronic health record side. The purchasing process was easy but it was a lot of work to do the transition and get the clients into the system. There were a couple of things we were hoping would work that they could transfer in. They said, potentially, sometimes they can, sometimes they can’t, and they couldn’t with us so we ended up manually doing a whole lot.
The training, when we first got it, was good as well. But before we started the official training of meeting with her once a week for an hour, I wish they would have given us more of a general overview of what she was all showing us. We watched the videos that she assigned us all the time, and yet, it wasn’t until we got into the system that we saw what she was talking about. We wish we would’ve known that going in and we would have had a lot more intelligent questions when we were going through it. Also, we were assigned to someone to do our training but something happened with her and all of a sudden, we couldn't use the trainers. That was part of it that we felt a little bit like we were being squeezed between and rushed.
But I appreciate their helpdesk though I can definitely tell when we get people who are more trained than others. Occasionally, I can tell if someone's newer because their answer does not make sense at all but I'd call back a day later, ask the same question and get the answer that makes sense to me and seems to work. There are still pieces of it we were getting up to speed with. We mirrored our two systems for two months. We were following the process and things didn’t seem to be working and it wasn't until a few months later when we realized it made sense why we were doing it that way. As a whole, we're glad we have the system especially now that we understand more of it. Also, we really appreciate the help we get in general. Though it's expensive and above what we were hoping we'd spend, I still would recommend it.

The print cuts down on us having to call back because I can look back and make a note at the top as to what the conversation was about and I should refer back to it if I have any problem. I do billing for multiple providers and one of them had AdvancedMD. The practice management software that I had before was bought out by AdvancedMD. So, our software got merged over to them and I loved it. Prior to AdvancedMD, we had another software vendor, and prior to that, we had MediSoft which I wasn't happy with. With the prior software, we had to purchase a practice management software and a separate EHR, but they were two separate companies so they did not correlate. While AdvancedMD offers both the PM and EHR, and they bridge together.
I love AdvancedMD's support. With them, I get on-the-spot help without having to wait, unlike with the other softwares, wherein I have to call, open up the page and wait for them to call me back. And sometimes, whatever my issue may be, it's something that I really need to be fixed right away, so that's a big plus with AdvancedMD. I have had nothing but good experiences with them and I highly recommend them. It has definitely made a difference with my business. I love that they're Cloud-based so no matter where I am at, I have access to the accounts. If I have an iPad, I can use that on-the-fly because it's internet-based. If I go for seminars or conferences, I can take the work with me so, I don't fall behind. So, it's definitely a win-win.

Right now, all of our clients are using the PM side and we have several clients that utilize the scheduler. We also had clients that used the EHR side of things. We have used pretty much everything in AdvancedMD at one point in time. It's a very easy to use the software program. I've been using this program for six years now and I've never really had any major issues with it.
Every staff member from AdvancedMD, regardless of being a salesman, implementation specialist or customer service rep, has been very friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The company owner couldn't get the reports that he wanted when he was trying to check her revenue, so he did a lot of research, ran across AdvancedMD, and liked them the best. They got the practice management package. I have talked to everybody over at AdvancedMD and they were all positive interactions. Any time I call, they're all very helpful. When I started eight years ago and I didn't know anything about the software, the person that was training me had very little knowledge of it as well. But everyone at AdvancedMD--my account rep, the support team, implementation, and enrollment--taught me a lot about the system that I was able to provide that training to some of our employees, too.
They're a great company. I've been doing billing for over 20 years and this is the easiest software to use. We have the best reports, too. Years ago, with Windows, I would use function keys and they're just too hard. Additionally, I don't get the support that I get with AdvancedMD. So when I would have problems or would try to troubleshoot something, there was nobody there for me. We are small nonprofit organization that has only been using the AdvancedMD for a few months and have realized it's way too much for a small specialty practice (neuropsychology) like ours. It appears that it would work better for large practices who submit a lot of claims, but for us the process is clunky and too complicated. The ICD-10 lookup is not complete and I have found myself having to refer to the ICD-10 codebook to find the most specific diagnoses to use on claims. I have gotten better information from a Google search. This is important in behavioral health due to having to prove medical necessity for a mental health problem. Also, the CPT lookup has steered me wrong on the use of modifiers by giving information that is contrary to what the AMA manual says. I was assured that behavioral health was a specialty of AdvancedMD, but that does not seem to be the case.
I was told by the sales rep that if after using the software for a few months, we found that it wasn't working out, that we could terminate the agreement without a problem, even though we had signed a 12 month contract, and that he would waive the setup fees if we signed ($1,995.00). Upon requesting to terminate the agreement, the rep conveniently forgot telling me that and went even further by stating that he would never have said that because it is not the way they do business. I know, I shouldn't have agreed to the 12 months and that if it's not in the contract... Buyer beware, make sure that you thoroughly demo the software and get everything in writing.

AdvancedMD gave our biller the most advantage in billing, so she decided to choose this program. The training went pretty okay but we still find a lot of things about AdvancedMD that’s not satisfactory that could may be made simpler. For example, editing - instead of having to void about a transaction, it’d be a lot quicker if we can edit it. They don’t allow you to void even though it’s just a minor mistake. So in the record, it just shows so many transactions to sort through if you want to look up some information like payments. It is also difficult to track unapplied credits once we applied it.
We have talked to customer service, but it’s not something that they were able to resolve. A lot of the people online have the same problem. They all agree that we should be able to edit rather than delete and void a lot of places. The sales staff try to help to work through the problem, but it’s still many steps. That makes it very difficult rather than simple as we would have hoped it’d be. Despite that, the people at AdvancedMD are very professional. However, it's a very small practice and the Gastroenterologist is the only doctor. We do the scheduling with practice fusion and then we do billing with AdvancedMD. Lately I realized that there were new people who take longer to help out when we call for help, but they’re always trying to help which is a good thing. They help me to fix. They’re very nice, kind, very professional and they also try to invite me to a seminar. I like working with AdvancedMD.

The mental health business that I got hired on is running with AdvancedMD. They got it about a month before I started working there. We have almost full service except a few different add-ons - we have the HER side and the practice management side, too. AdvancedMD's staff are friendly, very personable, and always willing to help. The only thing is that I typically am able to figure out the answer I'm looking for by myself. They don't know the answer if it's regarding the billing setup. They had issues with billing under one provider or having an alternate ID without setting up an alternate thing so billing at one insurance is different than other insurances. They didn't even ask me how I figured it out or do anything. I don't like that with the billing side, we have to babysit it to make sure it's going out right. If it's not set up correctly, then we have to go back and do a lot of research to figure out what's going on with it.
Still, the system is user-friendly. I feel like our productivity has increased a lot since I've taken over billing but when I first got hired, I'm out with scheduling so AdvancedMD would have made it pretty easy. I also think that having a community in the area which uses the same system as us, being able to have an open forum, talking with each other so we can help each other out would be nice. However here in Idaho Falls, the closest contacts are far away.

My workplace has been a customer of AdvancedMD for many years. We got the package that includes practice management, CHR, RCM, and EHR. Recently, we also got the Advanced Fax. I like that we can look things up through various ways. It doesn't always have to be their name, it could be their home phone number. That might be a flaw that it doesn't have all the numbers being looked up, but those are nice things. Also, their staff are very professional and helpful almost all the time.

Where do I begin... The purpose of an Electronic Health Records systems is for medical providers to be able to keep records of medical visits and send medications. "Advanced"MD has not delivered on these two VITAL aspects of being an EHR company. In our very busy outpatient psychiatric clinic -we have DAILY technical issues with this software and the response of this company has been SUBSTANDARD at best.
In addition to all of this is their poor response time. To this day I have never received phone calls back on items I brought up to their technical staff when they said they would. One technical person said he would call me in 20 minutes - never happened. Another technical person (Jacob) said he would call next day... never heard from him again. I have called and left messages with Hilary - no returned calls.
Our first MAJOR issues - which is STILL an issue - is the fact that AdvancedMD has a glitchy eprescribe system. It is a daily concern of ours that this company has had continued negligence in getting medications to patients via the pharmacies we try to send medications to. I personally have spoken to the technical staff at AdvancedMD and noted that PATIENTS ARE AT A HEALTH RISK IF THEY DO NOT GET THEIR MEDICATIONS. AdvancedMD agreed -but has done virtually nothing to assist with daily technical errors (Pending Acceptance, Pending with DrFirst etc.) This company could care less if they hurt someone because we cannot send medications. One doctor here uses another EHR because of AMD's inability to fix the problem. Another doctor uses extra time, precious time, to call in medications to the pharmacies.
They NEVER accepted the fault of these prescription errors - and they honestly wanted me to call every pharmacy when I have an error (also taking up time) and rattle off an alphanumerical transaction ID for EACH prescription THEY could not send to the pharmacy. RIDICULOUS!!! I'm NOT calling these in each time a prescription fails!
I'm writing this review today because our office is experiencing a BRAND NEW error! A technical error that is not saving medical notes for the doctors. Upon calling "Advanced"MD they stated, "we know there is a problem. Everyone in your office is having it. We are working on it but we don't know when it will be fixed - and all of our clients are experiencing this." I hope it doesn't take weeks... because our other issues having been going on for MONTHS! Need a new EHR... look somewhere else!

AdvancedMD support is not as knowledgeable as they should be, the level 1 in particular. They should have specific representatives assigned to clinics that are knowledgeable with using the system. When I talk to tier 1, I’ve been in the system years longer than they have and most of the time I know more than they do. Every time they update something, they break something up. We used to have an awesome eligibility system and we don’t trust it at all. So we’re paying for a broken system again. A lot of frustrations and I’m not the only one out there.

I'm practicing neurology and our current software did not have all the electronic features we needed so we got the Practice Management and the EHR from AdvancedMD. It's robust than a lot of the other companies we looked at. It seemed like it would do a lot for us in terms of verifying patient eligibility and a lot of the things that we were doing ourselves that the system can sometimes do for us.
The purchasing process was not too bad. There were contact people. This process, I know would've been tough no matter who we picked. The only downside was it took me a very long time to get used to not having somebody on-site at any time. That was a little bit of a disadvantage, especially for the first time we purchased a system like that. Sometimes you feel a little more confident when there's somebody on-site.
Doing all the training online took a little getting used to. The doctors' training was a little more stopgap because they had to figure out when they were gonna take their training and sometimes I feel like they don’t' really have a full grasp of the EHR side so I'm not sure if that was a training deficit or what. Sometimes they complain about it not being the most user-friendly for them. But in the end, we all learned what we needed to learn and were able to follow through with that. I do most of the billing and I'm able to take care of what I need through online chat but once in a while, I've had to call in and make a case and everything eventually gets resolved.

I have an ophthalmology practice and started with AdvancedMD three years ago. I like the way the service works, the customer service is good, and I would recommend them. However, I'm not as pleased with the reporting system. Some of it's great, but some of it's not, basically because their system is accrual-based and not cash-based, and we're a cash-based business as most medical offices are, so that makes it a little difficult. But it's just a timing issue so I accommodate and they help me with that. There's one gentleman who does reports really well. I'm report-oriented and I like working with him. He helped me find those reports, so that was a good connection to make. Other than that, I haven't made too many individual connections because anybody who answers the phone seems to be able to handle things pretty well.
The reps are really knowledgeable, or they get you to somebody who is, if it's a new problem. A lot of times, it's an existing problem and they're able to say, "Yeah, we're working on it. We know it's there," and they can fix it pretty well. I can share my computer screen with Customer Support, and they can come in and look. They've interfaced with our AHR system, which is great. In addition, they keep up-to-date with all of the newest things that the government throws at us, which is great, too, and that keeps them busy.

The software was ok once we finally got it installed. It is so restrictive on the platforms it will run on and even with multiple techie people helping I was never able to get it installed on one of my computers. Once the initial training was over (which was very good - the trainer was excellent) if I had any problems, I basically had to figure it out by myself. I was unable to print claims and the technical guy told me that I needed a newer version of Office so I upgraded to Office 365 and then they told me that was not supported. To make a long story short, I found a better system and left after my contract was up but I was unable to get any of my data to transfer. I finally got most of it by a lot of work and printing, but there was a few things that I was unable to get before my key expired.
I asked them for one more day or even one more month to get the rest of the information. I even offered to pay an extra month. They said, "Sure - if you pay us $300 extra to reactivate the key." Ridiculous. Up until that point I was actually going to give them a decent review. When I first chose this software it was owned by ADP. Since it was sold it has been awful. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I've used the software within a practice from a few years ago and I frequently refer their services as I am currently consulting – I DO NOT RECEIVE ANY FUNDS FOR REFERRING THEIR BUSINESS. They are one of 3 vendors who I am 100% confident in referring. The software is very reliable and very stable. There isn't much you can't do with this system. It is both robust and simple. I have consulted with many practices who are using AdvancedMD and tell me they are not happy. The first thing I do is train them on capabilities. Once they are trained I work with them on custom content. Usually in less than two weeks they change their minds on the power of AdvancedMD. The trick with AdvancedMD is ALL in the setup. If you do not dedicate time to learning the system, it will prove to be inadequate.
If you have done your diligence and take the time to learn how to use the tools – you will never need another system! BUYING TIP: Keep your salesperson in the loop if you have struggles. Their sales reps do not get paid commission unless they stay for 4-6 months. You can use this to get their help if you ever get stuck. Also be aware of the one year contract – they are usually pretty fair. If they make a mistake, they don't enforce the contract, but if you try to leave without a just reason they will heavily enforce. Thankfully, it's only a one year.

I am an RN and master's degree student. This is the absolute worst EHR I have ever had the displeasure to use in my 20 years of nursing. Their customer support is absolutely horrible. We have been unable to use the messaging system for our office since integrating the system 5 months ago. There is no way to let the providers know that schedule 2 medications have been checked and are ready to refill from the tools/refill request section. Lab has been unable to be integrated for 2 months since the request was made and all the information was provided.
Every time tech support is called their answer to every question is "Our system does not do that and there is no way we can help you," or "We will make a ticket for it" which is never completed or is "sent to the next tier." Which I think must be code for "we have given up on it because we don't know what we are doing." Nursing note sections are limited to 500 characters?? In a psychiatric office, that is a joke. Again technical support says, "There is no way we can help you." I have no idea why this company is even allowed to own an EHR system. They are so inadequately equipped to deal with the needs of a medical/psychiatric office and are unwilling to adapt to the needs of their clients.

Be aware with Advanced MD, if you change to another EHR software company Advanced MD does not have a user-friendly means of unlocking your patient records for you to transfer to another software product or for records transfer for patients. When requesting copy of all of our patient records because we were leaving, we were charged an outrageous fee and given a file that is basically useless. It is set up by date seen. So you can only retrieve that patient's information on a given day, but only after looking through every PDF file for that particular day, and you still cannot access any other patient data. That leaves you as a provider without access to any of your patient's medical records. That cannot be legal, for now I have access to pt. records while Advanced MD tries to "figure out" this problem. I was contacted by a member of the sales team from AdvancedMD on my personal cell phone via text message looking for information on a doctor in my area. I responded to the text by stating this was a personal cell phone and that they should contact the doctor's office if they would like contact information. I later got an email on my work email from this same sales rep asking for the same information. At this point I was extremely uncomfortable that someone was googling me and contacting me about medical software when my email address as well as work web page made it very clear that I am not in the medical profession!
I called 3 different numbers and spoke with 5 different people before I was finally contacted by a supervisor. I told the supervisor what my issue was only to receive the response "we do that all the time". He then went on to insult me on a professional as well as personal level and tell me that my reaction to this matter was absurd. He doesn't know who would ever choose to work with me and that they are a multimillion dollar company so they can do what they want. I was then told there was a legal department on premise and if I wanted I could take it up with them, to which I responded and asked if I could have their name and contact information.
A that point I was told "If you care that much go ahead and google it". I later contacted the local doctor's office whom this sales rep was trying to contact, and spoke with their office manager who told me she had been receiving calls and email for over 2 months and had mentioned to this salesperson several times that they were NOT interested and to no longer contact them. Being a person in sales myself, I want to know at what point does a company realize they are taking things too far and since when do supervisors have the right to insult people? What when he heard I was not in the medical field and there was no potential of me becoming a customer he felt he was free to say anything he wanted? Well guess what sir, my husband actually works in the administrative department at a local hospital, and I can guarantee he will not recommend your products to the doctor's he does work directly with.

The salesperson had promised verbally that we would be able to take care of this issue. After this could not be done and paying them 4 months of fees I explained that we could not use their software as it did not meet our needs as promised. We’re getting started with ADP so we’re starting to get trained on how to use the product. So far, the experience has been horrible because the entire process has been painful. Nothing is going right and there has been a lot of direction. Everything we try to do, according to what they said we needed to do didn't work and needed to get them to do more than I think what they're used to doing. It's taken much longer than it ever should have and it’s been a painfully mind numbing and awful experience. We’ve been clear about how difficult this experience has been so ADP is aware of our feelings.
We used the product at another time for another business and that’s why we chose to use it this time for this business and they changed so many things. If we didn't already know how to use the product and know what it was capable of doing, there’s no way I would even persist with what we started. It’s nothing like our first experience, that’s how bad it is. The people are fine and it’s not about the people that we were working with. It’s the way that they have things set up which is mind blowingly bad. We keep asking questions and everybody is friendly, happy and peppy but that doesn’t help me when they don’t do it right, and that’s what’s been happening.

AdvancedMD was running a special price at that time. Their promotion didn't have any specific criteria that to pay any extra for the particular type of system. There weren't any specific contingencies that depend upon how many computers are in the office so I chose them and it did work.

I'm very happy and thrilled with ADP AdvancedMD. We're dermatologists and we do regular dermatology, multiple lasers, cosmetic treatments, and we have an attached spa. We have two physicians and one PA and we have lots of different appointments going on. So we purchased AdvancedMD.
The sales staff knew that I was coming from a program that we were unhappy with and I was very leery about going on to their program expecting the same thing, so they went out of their way to make sure that I had a lot of detailed information. I requested really detailed training before we switched to make sure that the program could do what we wanted and they worked with us really well on that. And when we started the program and it wasn't able to do one of the reports that they promised me, the sales staff worked with the office and with their custom reports, and we were able to come to agreement and I have a special custom report that does what I need.
But I do have two suggestions: first, one of the things we wish we're able to do is the benefit of the e-mail. The program we had beforehand was a complete disaster except for the one feature: that it could send out e-mail reminders for appointments. ADP doesn't have that option. We've been asking since 2012 to see if they can do that and I haven't gotten any feedback on it, but I think that would be something every single customer would like. They do something like that already with the program, basically on the appointments before patient comes in. You can set it to whatever time, but we have it set up to three days before it'll verify insurance automatically. So I think it would be just a matter of adding on a program saying "three days ahead of time, send out an e-mail."
Second, they have a program that's called AdvancedInsight -- an extra program that you can sign up for (and I have). Their training for their program is fantastic -- you can go online, they've got a video for it that could show you what to do. But with this new program--which is like an add-on--they don't really have any training to help you out with it. And sometimes I get a customer service rep who's not familiar with the new add on. When you're busy doing things you need to find out then and there. And when they call you back, you don't have the time to talk with them or train with them. So I would really suggest, since it's something you're paying extra for, that they do something about that.
Apart from these two suggestions, I think the one other thing that I really appreciate with them, after being with such a bad program before, is their customer service. It's outstanding! Certainly there are things that you can wait on but when your program goes down, you need them immediately. When you call them, you get a live person. When you have an issue, they keep you updated on it and resolve it. You don't feel dropped like other programs. Our previous program, we would call them, you could never get a live person and then you'd leave a message, and then they would tell you that "We have 48 hours to get back to you." That just wasn't acceptable because when you have a problem, you need to resolve it right then. But with AdvancedMD, they're there for you and if the individual there doesn't know what to do, they escalate it to the right person and the right person then contacts you.
They also have after-hours customer service. A couple times I've been working late in the office and the program's gone down and I haven't finished my work or closed the day and I need the program, so I've called the after-hours and I've been able to get a hold of someone. They then know there's a problem. Within an hour, they usually fix it. That, to me, is fabulous. I love the program and recommended it to multiple offices. I can only see them doing better in the future.

We are on first-name basis now and I think that was a huge part in me buying the system because no matter what answer I gave him about what my people said, he always came back with something great to help us get a little further. Most people probably would’ve given up, but Bryce held with me for a long time and we finally got it through. I could talk to him pretty much whenever I needed and he checked up on us when I wasn't calling him back. He made everything very pleasant and easy for us.

We really like the sales representative. She was very helpful and the way she presented it is what made us decide to buy the product. With the customer service in general, the experience is also very positive. We would like them to respond sooner to some of the queries we have but overall it's very positive.

I was planning on getting medical billing software for the new practice that we’re opening up. What you need in a medical billing software or practice management software is a flexible and robust scheduler, a good data interface, good electronic posting, tracking, claims management tools, and a good reporting system, and ADP AdvancedMD had most of them. ADP is a robust tool for managing a practice but with some limitations in customer support and reporting.
The reporting is the biggest problem. There’s a lot of data but you can’t easily access it into usable reports. The only way to do that is to download the entire data file and create your own reports. They have a fancy and expensive reporting module called Advanced Insight which is good for generating certain reports but every time I need something that’s not common, easy, and obvious, I have to call. There are a few clunky things in the interface and the fact that it relies on ActiveX technology is a shame. They keep talking about updating it to more current technologies but they basically are using a depreciating technology from Microsoft as the main driver of reports. However, they do pretty well on everything else. I give them good marks on most things but every time I have to deal with reporting with them, I’m scratching my head wondering how they’re still in business.

We are a family practice and we have three physicians and one nurse practitioner. I researched on the internet for EHR companies. I watched a gazillion demos and liked ADP's - their EHR package most closely resembled our paper charge. We have their Practice Management and their Electronic Health Record package as well as integrated facts. They also do our patient billings plus something else we bought extra. Purchasing was very easy. The sales staff was friendly and accessible, which is always important.
They have excellent training. They do live training and offer video training which you can watch a million times if you want to, which some of them I did. Also, their help is readily available by phone, live chat or you can just do online submissions so that part is very good. Plus all of their help team and sales team are all (I don't want to sound bad) English-speaking so they're not hard to understand.

Modernizing Medicine introduced me to AdvancedMD. I've had it for three years and have good experience with it because it crosses over bridges with my EMR and they were very efficient at billing.

I was formerly the administrator of a large medical billing group which broke up, but I formed my own company four years ago so I looked into medical billing software. I tried AdvancedMD with about five other software. I thought their claims process was the easiest and they had online training to start up in which I had a trainer work with me for three months on the start-up. However, their enrollment is not as good as it needs to be because they're backed up and not running efficiently. But their customer support is excellent and top of the line.

I want a one-to-one bridge bilaterally, back-and-forth, with my EHR. Support and cost are probably right up there in my top three requirements. I compared prices and contracts and what was included, etc. with different billing software. When it came to ADP AdvancedMD, we simply agreed on what the price would be to this contract and that was that. Carson **, the seller, helped set it up and do the training and he was very responsive.
The AdvancedMD system has more bells and whistles than I use. I don't use the EHR part of the system, so I just do the billing through it. I came from Medisoft which is pretty basic and we're just a one-man practice here, so there's a lot of stuff that I don't use but it seems to be working well. I like the way the claims go through and the way they get scrubbed. Also we can auto-post the payments to come right into it instead of waiting for the mail or getting it off another website and then having to manually enter everything. So that's very helpful and saves a lot of time. That's why I would and have recommended it.

ADP AdvancedMD has been excellent. Before purchasing, we compared them to one more software and I think they came ahead. The software is user-friendly and forgives your mistakes.

The ADP software is very easy to understand. We had an issue with a couple of claims yesterday that were getting excluded, but I believe we took care of that issue. The representative was very helpful.

AdvancedMD has a lot of features on it that seemed to be very advantageous like the claim scrubbers and all the different types of support, being able to have all the health files and the video trainings and then also the implementations and the continuing support. I talked to the account representative and he gave me a layout of what all costs were included and how that worked, and he sent over some written information. The sales staff was always quick to respond to any kind of questions I ever had whether by email or over the phone. We never had any problems sorting things out. Support from AdvancedMD has been really great. Any time we needed to get in touch and have something looked at or fixed, they always seem to be quick with it.

We're in medical billing and have been a client of AdvancedMD since 2005. At the time, it was very similar to a billing software that I had been using so I wanted something that was familiar. It's very easy to use and other than them being very accommodating, they're always helpful. I started with just AdvancedMD and then, of course, they got bought out by ADP but I didn't think the transition was a big deal because everything has been good.

We needed a new software since our old one was crashing all the time. One of our vendors mentioned ADP AdvancedMD so we bought it. We had difficulty in the beginning but we're fine now.
