I received on 10.1.09 a First Premier Gold Visa Card in one envelope and a statement in another envelope. The invoice was for $179.00. I did not apply for this card and have never heard of First Premier Bank. I called Premier Bank and asked them why they would send me a card that I did not apply for. They would not talk to me, but they said that they would call the credit bureaus and also cancel the card. They said that I had applied for the card and this is why I received it. Now I have very bad credit and am unemployed at this time. First, why would I apply for a card. Second, why would they send me one if I applied for one. I do believe this is a scam and really do not know what they have advised the credit bureaus.

We had a payment that we made a little over a month ago that we had made with one of their managers. She asked me to pay 3 times the amount needed since they had some issues with their computers and they will return my fees as soon as the payment gets processed. I had given them the card numbers and was waiting on the computer to see it show up on our bank statement. It showed up, and we figured everything was fine. The next month, we were told that we had missed a payment and that a report had been sent in to the credit bureau. We were told that we missed this payment even though we have since sent in documentation 3 times showing that there was payment on that day, which was not returned; that had a delay until the next day (something they said was unique); and that they had made no mistake.

We told them that we had no issue about even paying it again, but that a credit report for something like this was ridiculous. They insisted that our full month's bank statement and letter from the bank was not enough, and that it would stay. We feel that this is an absolute scam since it comes with all sorts of fees on top even though the card is not working for a long time now. The representatives are not trained enough to handle anything but collection script. Managers keep promising to "do the research" and all I get is more illiterate collection calls. My credit is all messed up now, and there is no way to fight this injustice.

I'd like to share my experience with you. Hopefully, it will help some people. Unfortunately, I think we all found out about this site a little too late and that's the reason we are here, but for those who currently have trouble with Premier Bank or who are thinking about getting credit from them, please read:

I have had a Premier Bank card for some time now, and really have had no problems with payments or customer service. I've experienced some financial trouble in the past few months and have fallen behind on payments. My card balance is currently $140 over the limit due to fees and whatnot because I haven't been able to pay in a few months. They called me up and offered a settlement. They asked me to pay 50% of the balance which I felt was a good deal and I accepted.

I spoke to a lady named Chris who told me the terms of the agreement. I told her that I wanted the settlement. I asked her to mail a confirmation of the agreement, and she agreed. I told her that I would call back on Monday and arrange a payment either then or for Tuesday, figuring that I would receive the letter by then. Eleven days later, I have not received any letter. I called up and spoke to a lady named Cathy, who by some strange coincidence, has answered the phone every time that I've called them in the past few months. Is this a four-person company/office? I know she is not a secretary.

Anyway, she informed me that they do not mail a letter and cannot fax a letter, or even send an email confirmation. The only way that they could send me a letter is that if I arranged a payment. Come on now! I've settled with credit card companies before, and it has never been a problem to get things in writing before making a payment. She said that this offer was only good until the 30th, which I was aware of, and if no payment was received by then that this account would be charged off. She continued that it would be impossible to get a letter to me by the 30th but if I arranged a payment right now, they would mail one, but they needed a payment to process. So, basically they wanted me to trust them and give them money and leave me to hope they hold up their end of the deal. I refused.

I've done too much homework and research with this kind of thing, and I know that rule one is to get everything in writing before any form of payment is made. Cathy got real rude and accused me of going in circles. When I kept turning down offers for automated payments, Western Unions and whatever else and kept stating that I needed a letter physically in my hands before any payment will be made, she got frustrated and threatened to hang up on me. Then I asked for her supervisor. The supervisor named Amy was calmer, but she didn't offer anything different, just that I could either Western Union them the money, or set up an automatic payment from my account. They both acted surprised when I said that if I pay I will pay by overnighting a money order or cashier's check.

The bottom line is that now I have two days to pay them and have no proof that they will hold up their end of the deal. They've made something that shouldn't be complicated into a big issue, and I have lost any trust and faith in this "bank" or "company" (not that I had much in the first place). I will not make a payment to them, and will let this $600 issue go to collections. Maybe there I will deal with someone reasonable.

Here are some things I've learned through my financial troubles:

    1. Do not give them electronic access to you checking account. This will lead to unauthorized withdrawals, bank fees, and etc. If you have to pay, pay by cashier's checks, or money orders.

    2. Get everything in writing because an issue surrounding this debt will come up, maybe not real soon, but maybe years from now, so keep a record.

    Thank you for reading this.

I applied for a credit card through this company in order to re-establish my credit. When I received the card, there was already over $100 worth of charges on the card due to service fees. None of this was explained to me when I applied for the card. Shortly after I received the card, I received notice from my employer that we were to go on mandatory furlough leave, which made it impossible to pay off the large balance until September.

I tried to explain this situation to the numerous customer service representatives who would contact my home on an hourly basis from April to August. Although I had tried to make payment arrangements for smaller amounts, the agents refused to take them and told me they were not acceptable. Additionally, every female agent I spoke with was rude, aggressive and raised their voice with me. This is absolutely unacceptable business practice. Whenever I asked to speak with a manager, I was refused.

Finally, I had made arrangements with Cory on the 29th of August to pay the amount of $186.30 on September 8, 2009 and was given a confirmation number. The payment had never been credited to my account. I check my account on a daily basis. Finally on September 13th, I received a call from a woman claiming to be from First Premiere Bank. I asked her about the payment and she told me that my debit card was declined on the 8th due to insufficient funds.

I explained to her that I had money in my account waiting for the credit to take place. She told me that I could go to a Walmart and get a MoneyGram to pay the amount, in order to make sure it went through. I asked her if I could speak to a Manager to ensure that I would not be paying for something with a MoneyGram, only to have another payment come out in a few days. She argued with me, but me on mute and said that she had to speak with me before putting me through to a manager.

I refused to speak with her, thinking that this might be a con game and not legitimate. I argued with her and hung up on her. I tried to contact the company right after I hung up on the agent and found that I would have to contact customer service on Monday since the office was closed. Since the office was closed, I seriously doubt the legitimacy of the phone call I received on September 13th.

I guess I will have to pay all the fees in order to stop the bad credit report. Hurry, someone stop these people. It's a scam. I have to pay the charges and I haven't even used this card. However, when I told my stepdaughter to make her phone payment w/ T-Mobile, she used this card. I just spoke to Luke ** and we settled for the amount of $78.87, the amount that was owed on the card. Anyone thinking about getting this credit card, don't do it! They are definitely scammers and all they care about is taking your money. I am a 24-year old college student with no credit and no money. I applied for this credit card about a year ago and since then, they call me six to twelve times a day harassing me, telling me I am late on payments, which I wasn't. I send money orders at the same time every month and they claim that it's always late. I don't care where they are located. I send them payments three weeks in advance and that's more than enough time to get there.

Their fees are outrageous! I mean, they have a fee for everything. I have talked to some lawyers and other people about this and they claim it's all legal. I just don't understand how someone ripping you off is legal. Now, I am $400 in the hole because I have never had a credit card before, and I have no credit so I didn't know what to do. Please don't get this credit card! It should be illegal and they all should be prosecuted to the fullest because of what they are doing! Can someone please help me? I don't know what to do! I have threatened to cancel it but they said it would even make my credit worse. They are ripping me off with these fees. I need help. If you can do so, please email me. Thank you.

While I realized that this bank charges many fees for just about anything and everything, we have been very diligent in paying everything off each month and on time. They just don't make it easy for anyone to do this. Paying online, the payment confirmation states "This payment will be deducted from this bank account on or after the date selected." It took over 48 hours. Of course, then late charges were able to be assessed. I called every day to make sure the payment was in fact credited and begged them not to hit us with a late fee. I just tried to schedule a payment for the full balance, which I can see online, but I haven't received the statement yet. I wanted to schedule it for a couple weeks from now and two weeks before the due date so I wouldn't have to worry about late fees.

So, I looked at the current balance and it's $7 over the credit limit. There was an additional fee for something, I can't tell what. Of course, the customer service line only gives me automated options, no person to talk to. I got routed around a while, it asked for my cc number, which I put in, then said it cannot help me and hung up. I figure I'll go ahead and pay the full balance anyhow to avoid more additional fees. I attempted to schedule the payment and I got an error message, "I cannot pay more than the balance." But I selected the balance to pay. It's the option they give, along with the minimum, which I have never paid. This bank is making it almost impossible to pay any charges on time.

Apparently, the nearest I can figure, is that the monthly fee has increased (my fine print pamphlet apparently tells me that they can do that without telling me. So who knew when I charged a dinner last week that I would then go over my credit limit?) and apparently, the "pay online" fee was added to my card, rather than deducted from my checking account for the last payment. I had accepted that fee to be deducted at the same time for the full amount. It wasn't. So, the $10.95 fee granting me the privilege of paying online so they can hold off crediting my payment and then add a late fee. Well, there they go.

I will pay this off and then probably close this card, even though that is supposed to hurt my credit rating. I certainly won't be using it again and who knows how much the monthly fee will go up to? Then, I imagine there will be a no-use fee they can bill me, not to mention a fee they can assess for letting me breath.

I used my credit card to rent a car. I paid the security on the card then paid the actual rental in cash. When I returned the car to the rental company, they returned $9.25 more than was originally ran on the credit card. I called approx. 4 days later to see if the credit had been applied to the account. The recorded message said the account had been suspended. I finally got a hold of someone in customer service. They told me that my account had been flagged for fraud and was suspended until the car rental company sent them the receipts that I actually paid the amount that was returned to my card. I never received a call, nor letter stating there was a problem with my account and had I not called to find out about the credit, I wouldn't have had any idea until I tried to use my card. They have received the required fax and now tell me that it has to go through their theft department in order to reactivate my card. The woman I talked to even told me that it's because I would likely have a friend working at that company and repeated charges would eventually add up to a lot of money. This was one return.

They have been calling me and harassing me at least 10 times a day, including multiple times at work! It isn't even over the limit but they insist that I need to pay it in full. Why? It isn't over. It was late but I have full intentions to pay it this month. They wanted me to pro-date a check to pay for it and then charge me $12 to do it over the phone. This company is ridiculous. This is the absolute worst credit card to have and customer service reps to deal with. I paid my bill in its entirety each month and on time, making me a good customer. I was contacted by a company offering me a $100 gift card for being such a great customer and all I needed to do was enroll in an auto rewards program. I repeated many times I was not interested as I do not have a car nor do I drive. Still, they insisted. Of course, the paperwork arrived. The gift card was a scam and I had to cancel the program immediately. I was still charged amounts varying from $14.99 to $19.99 for several months after.

I disputed the charges and when a customer service rep left me a message about needed additional info to look into the matter, she did not supply me with her last name or an extension number making it "impossible", as the new customer service rep said, to know who I was supposed to talk to. In the end, I cancelled my card altogether but not before literally being yelled at by the woman that was aiding me in the cancellation process. She seemed to think that they were doing me a favor by granting me a credit card. I was a dream customer and all I got out of it was a scam, inconvenience, stress and verbal abuse.

The percentage rate is 23.9% with a list of fees they will add at the drop of a hat. The most interesting fee was a Credit Limit Increase Fee in the amount of 50% of the amount of the credit limit increase.

Not wanting anything to do with this company, I called their toll free opt out number which was automated. The very first thing I was to enter was my Social Security number! Preface (a bit of recent history):

I've taken over managing my elderly parents' (84 and 87) financial issues because they are too old to understand what is happening to them, too easily swayed by fast talkers, and often forgetful about paying their bills on time. I've been cleaning up many messes, but the worst are with several major credit card banks (and AT&T). I'm still trying to resolve an account with a bank that agreed to a settlement a couple of months ago (after 6-1/2 months of negotiations and stonewalling), but they still haven't sent the promised settlement confirmation letter and they keep promising me that a supervisor will call me "tomorrow," but tomorrow never comes. Also, their website shows the account still open with a huge amount of debt on it - in spite of our having paid the settlement in full while the bank rep was on the phone in a three-way call to another bank that was taking over the debt. My folks are so deep in debt (which I didn't learn until last November) that I can't imagine them ever getting out of it. They live on a tiny, less than half of the national average household income and their bills are larger than their income, especially with medical bills.

My parents started abusing their credit cards only after their rickety old trailer was demolished by a tornado two years after the previous one was demolished by a hurricane. The insurance was very poor in both cases. They had no money to live on. We didn't know that either. Those five cards were with Chase (the continuing culprit), Bank of America (three cards), and Discover.

    The main story:

Anyway, that's a huge, long story, but I'm angry today about a "small" issue which I'm mentioning here. We were spared the actual trouble, but I am sensitized by all the crap I've been dealing with about credit card debt. Thank goodness my parents' mail is now coming to my house where I check it out first or they would have been additionally swindled by First Premier Bank. In today's mail addressed to my mother is a letter offering an amazing credit card and it contains the following paragraph:

"Because we know that bad things happen to good people, First PREMIER Bank has created this card for those with less-than-perfect credit. So even if you've been turned down in the past, don't let that stop you."

Then it shows two "great" benefits, including a 9.9 APR on purchases (much lower than anything my folks have). Sounds great! However, I read the "initial disclosure" pamphlet - something my octogenarian parents would never do and they probably couldn't read the small print anyway. These are the following fees: $95 for the program fee, $29 for the account set-up fee, $48 for the annual fee, $84 for the monthly servicing fee ($7/month), and $20 for additional card fee (for spouse). And the credit line on this card is $250!

Thus, the first month leaves the customer with a $51.00 credit line after that person has paid these ** thieves $199.00 for nothing. This is supposedly for individuals who already have trouble paying their bills! This slimy behavior preys on the elderly and those who aren't sharp enough to spot a scam when they see one. Oh, the document goes on to list other sleazy ways that the bank extorts money out of the unwary, but this post is already too long. I tried calling them to complain, but there was no way to reach a real person, even by pressing "O" or saying "agent," "representative," or any of those usual methods of reaching a person. However, with the press of a button, you can sign up immediately for the card. It figures. It just makes me so mad! Sorry about the long story, but I think our government should really crack down on predatory lending practices. I read the summaries of the House and Senate proposals and, in my opinion, they are as weak as (my father's phrase) "a fart in a windstorm."

I laughed and finally got someone that saw how silly Premier was being over 12 dollars w/ a customer that has been w/ them for years. So, I did as promised (after receiving 2 more calls) and made the payment.

Now, once again I was under the impression that the card was paid. I didn't use it again. Getting ready for vacation, took accounting of money avail and a check of card balances. At this time, I owed $6. June 17, we left for vacation. We used the card for the next 2 weeks. We returned home Tuesday, I believe, 6/29 or 6/30. We were in the door literally 10 minutes and our phone rings. A man on the other phone requested me, I was at the time, getting 3 children in the house and settled. My husband advised him of our circumstance, but that he would have me return the call ASAP. He had to repeat this 3-4 times. The representative told my husband that we owed $267 and change and that he had to have a promise to pay right now and proceeded to advice of cost and penalties. My husband, for the last time, advised him we had just walked through the door, he himself was not aware of the status of my card and that he would have me call as soon as we were settled and hung up.

I called on 7/1, spoke to a representative, thought about requesting a supervisor right away, but thought of the reasonable representative and thought I would give it a shot. As soon as I started w/ the harassment over $12 in May, she barked right back "well yes, it was past due!" I realized this was going to go nowhere, ** it.

I owed Premier $12 and the 3 calls a day for 2 weeks were justified. I requested a supervisor. I was surprised to be transferred fairly quickly. The supervisor introduced herself and I relayed the past 2 months of events to her. She apologized in a script sort of way, and then lowered her IQ to deal w/ me and talk to me as if I were a child quoting the card agreement. I was insulted and angered even more. I then raised my voice and became a bit sarcastic but hope that she still heard me. If not, someone from Premier please read this carefully. At the time of the late June call, all we legally owed was $6 even the supervisor conceded that my next question to her was why then was the representative demanding and I do mean demanding the $267.00 total on the card, $261.00 had just been put on it in the past 2 weeks! I had not been billed for it yet. He had no right to demand full payment.

The supervisor's only response was "but you did get a bill for the $6" Now, my husband and I get offers from Premier weekly to get more cards from them offering us even more credit. Why the ** would we open ourselves up to even more harassment over $6 and $12 balances and be made to feel as deadbeats, thank you, but no. The only reason we don't close the existing accounts is in today's financial climate, we are advised to not close accounts just to keep the balances down. Please, someone from Premier contact me regarding this matter. I am sure corporate can see this for what it is, harassment over nothing amounts to a long time customer.

I opened a credit card account with First Premier with the understanding that the fees were exorbitant. My intention was to use the account to build up my credit and use the card very prudently. I made the company aware of this fact and paid the $138 initial fees upfront. I paid 6 months of monthly fees in advance and did not use the card. When I started using the card, I paid most balances in full in advance of the due date.

In the last two months, I paid the minimums but in advance of due date. I recently got a call from Crystal and she said that I was overdrawn, due to a backend fee that I was not aware of, by $13. Plus there’s a $29.00 overdrawn fee. So the total is $43.00. This (the $43.00) was immediately reported to all three credit bureaus. She said not to worry because First Premier would credit the $29.00 back to my account in 2 days as they don't charge for overdrawn fees on fees.

Ironically, one month prior I was offered a second card with identical terms (percentage wise). I declined. So I paid $256 for a $200 credit limit and didn't improve my credit. I was sent a solicitation to purchase badges with my last statement/invoice and no mention of pending payment due. The credit score I worked for and paid for was destroyed by deceptive, unethical and fraudulent practices.

A week later, I got a bill for $169! What? $25 late fee turns into $169! They say it is interest on the fees. I thought they were not allowed to charge interest on fees. You must do so within 48 hours after your application is accepted. It is difficult to get a live customer service rep, so you need to go through the automated system and select the option to "make a payment." At this time, it will ask you to enter your credit card number. Do not enter anything at this time. It will then ask you to enter your Social Security number and direct you to a customer service rep. I told the woman that I wanted to cancel my application and she told me I will receive confirmation in the mail in seven to ten days. After the initial fees, I have no complaints. This is more of a note to those who do or for those thinking on accepting the card. When I got the card, I knew the initial cost would be high with all the fees. I simply accepted the card when I knew I could pay the fee balance at the same time (yes, my credit is shot due to my own younger mistakes, so I'll take what I can get). So when I got the card, I went online and registered it and paid the fees. Since then, I only incurred a $7 online payment fee and once a year, a $45 fee. If there are others, I cannot see them, highly unlikely due to the amount I pay increases my available credit equally (less the $7 fee). I do have a balance, but with a credit limit of $250, it's easy (at least for me, knock on wood) to pay double or triple the amount owed.

The whole point is to rebuild my credit, so I have been following some rules to avoid all the other fees that people are complaining about. I pay on time, I don't go over limit (never use it for cash), I don't pay too soon (two payments in the same month may only count toward that month). I try to pay at least double the amount. I covered all the initial fees upfront, once my statement showed 100% available credit I started using, not before. Well that's what I did, am doing, 1+ year now. I also consistently check my balance and due dates, I call when I have a questions and they do answer.

I have had two MasterCards from First Premier Bank, one at $250.00 limit and another at a $300.00 limit, and each month have made timely and above the amount due payments. Several months always pay off in same month. Within the past 4 months, I have been attempting to make my payments online at mypremiercreditcard.com, which is the site in which is printed on their statements. Within the 4 month period, the website does not direct you to the correct website and when I call to speak with customer service, they tell you that their office is closed even during the 8-5 pm time frames.

I went onto the web and researched if the site had changed and also called to ask. When I continue to make my payments and can't get through to a reputable business or see that the site only takes you to emoticons and random adds, it started to make me curious as to whether or not this company was even a company. The automated system only allows you to make a payment and check your balance. It asks if you want to speak with CS but as stated, does never route you to one.

I have concluded that First Premier credit cards are fraudulently conducting business. Increasing late fees, finance charges and tacking on various other charges to do whatever they can to get money when consumers are not using the cards like myself. I stopped purchasing within that 4 month period and my statements are showing amounts due higher than when I was using them. I feel that this bank or whatever it was doing business in Sioux Falls, SD went under and has been acting as an active entity and not disclosing the proper terms and changes to their customers who fell victim to this scam.

I called on 6/4 to cancel my card and had been looped over and over again when pressing 3 to speak with Customer service. Seems extremely odd that if they were reputable they would at least have numerous avenues to serve their customers. I will continue to file complaints and work to cancel out both these cards and ensure that I take every effort to articulate amongst the other customers who also fell into this fraudulent activity with the First Premier credit card company advertising they will help rebuild credit, when in reality they are causing more financial hardships and frustration for all their customers who believed they were valid.

Three to four years of paying into this bank and putting off paying electric or water (utilities) scared that my credit would be impacted if I didn't pay the amounts indicated on their statements. Never questioned why the drastic increases each month.

Then when I signed up for their card, Silver, I think it was, it transferred me over to the company running the Silver cards - Plains Commerce. The credit card claimed it would help me with my bad credit and actively try to rebuild my credit with me by sending me tons of updates, notices, tips and whatnot.

Well, I rarely receive my statements and when I do, they are late or just a couple of days prior to my payment date. There are two separate websites they send you to: one is the payment site, the other is the site holding your account balance and transaction info. Coincidentally(?), they are hard pressed to give you the site with your account info because then you may actually see your payment schedule and avoid the 29 dollar late fee. The only way to avoid this fee is to call the bank and ask them for this mystery site info which they never once volunteered to me, and I did not know about until I tried to make two payments in a month and get ahead of schedule and the woman on the customer service line told me that was not possible and referred me to the aforementioned account info. site.

You are not allowed to make two payments within five days of each other, another useless term, the purpose of which I still don't know. I am a timid spender on my credit cards because I'm terrified of the fees and hidden charges. After 7 months, I canceled my card today, feeling taken advantage of, preyed upon and duped for not being allowed to have control over my account. The reason people keep bad credit scores is from cards from places like this.

I paid just over 400 dollars to pay a grand total of 86 dollars in actual purchases over seven months with Plains Commerce. I know it's hard to resist the attraction of a card company claiming that they will help you rebuild your credit, but trust me folks, the only one that makes good on that claim is Orchard Bank. Their site is handicap free, easy to use, and wants you to get a good credit score and keep them as your longest running card. A check in the amount of $200 was sent on 6/6/08. I called customer service when I received a bill the following month. I told them the account was closed. They said no it wasn't. I said it was and that I would not make any further payments. My credit limit was $200, yet start fees, etc. came to $170+. A scam! Then the collection calls started, sometimes 3 in a day. I did speak to one individual about the account, saying again that was I was being asked to pay were fees. The reply was Well what about your credit rating? This will be reported and will have an adverse effect. This to me was EXTORTION, i.e., pay the bill or we'll ruin your credit rating.

Had a First Premier credit card for 1.5 to 2 years. Never missed a payment. Was never late in paying. End of 2008, I was laid off. Continued paying min payments on the card until First Premier charged the card a yearly fee, which took the card over the limit. Of course they then charged an over limit fee. These charges plus their usual mystery fees took the amount owed immediately beyond my ability to pay. They called the day the card went over the limit. I told them I had been laid off and why I wasn't going to be able to pay more than the $20 per month I had been paying. They didn't seem to be satisfied with this answer, wanting the entire amount owed and have been calling my phone number ever since as many as 14 times per day. I can't turn the phone off for fear of missing a job call. I have tried to ask First Premier to discontinue their harassing phone calls but they refuse.

I received an ad in the mail for a 0% credit card last year and decided to give them a call. About two weeks later, I got my card in the mail. To my astonishment, my credit limit was $250.00 and I already owed them $175.00 in fees. I immediately called to cancel the card and try to avoid these fees but they refused to cancel it. I ended up spending the remaining $75.00 balance over the next week or two and have regretted it ever since. I paid the entire balance of the card in January and asked that the card be closed. The woman that I talked to told me that I would no longer owe them anymore money and the card would be canceled. Here it is, not even April and I am getting calls telling me that I'm over my limit and asking for a payment.
To make a long story short, I have spent $75.00, paid $250.00 and now apparently I still owe them over $300.00. I really need help dealing with these people.

I had more charged on the card than they were allowing for my new credit limit. I called them right away and explained what happened. They could care less. Long story shorter...they ended up closing my accounts after I was already placed in their temporary payment program; called me 20+ times a day, and just plain harrassed me. I was finally able to pay them off a couple weeks ago but here is where they REALLY get me. I spoke with a gal who advised me I could either pay by phone the following tuesday when I had the money or I could submit payment through my bank. No problem right? WRONG! I chose to send them electronic payment and the same day they were notified of a pending payment they debited my same checking account for a phone authorized payment. Funny! I didn't call them to do that!!!!! I have called and asked for a refund. 30-60 days they tell me. That is 476.84 of my money they are holding hostage and none of them are nice about it. In the summer of 2008, I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and mixed bipolar disorder and was forced to file for social security disability. I tried multiple times to explain to First Premier that I was unemployed and disabled and that I had signed up for social security. Every day my phone would ring an average of 15 times from calls by First Premier.

Finally, I got tired of the phone calls and had my # changed to an unlisted number. I lived in peace until tonight, January 19, 2009 - the phone rang from a number listed as Spearfish, South Dakota - I answered the phone thinking it was a call from social security or something. The woman on the phone would not tell me who she was but kept asking if I was Esko ** and then began asking if I was working. Still not knowing who I was talking too, I explained to her that I am disabled having been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. That's when she FINALLY told me that she was calling from First Premier Bank!! I was dumbfounded as to how they got my number as NO ONE has it besides my family and doctor's office!!

I then explained to the rude woman that I have sent numerous letters stating that I am disabled but they ignored each letter. She then went on to harass me and that's when I hung up on her. It is 8:35 pm and since that phone call, they have called 2 additional times!! I am at a loss for how they got my phone number! Now I am going to have to live in hell again with my phone ringing at all hours of the day and night. I told her that I would be glad to pay them once my disability is approved but she kept harassing me, asking if I had someone to pay the card for me. The odd thing is that I signed up for disability protection - if I became disabled then the card would be paid off - First Premier has ignored this minor detail! Be forewarned, DO NOT sign up for a First Premier card. It will be one of the worst mistakes you make!

They charge you their annual fees, maintainece fees and online acess fees. It adds up to well over 100.00 dollars a year. I am currently purchasing a house and need to show that my current credit cards are paid up to date. I have a 0.00 balance with First Premier Bank. I am set to close next month so I need an up to date statement showing my name and adress with balance. First Premier Bank has no access to historical bank statements even though I pay a monthly fee! I called them and asked for a formal letter to be faxed to mortgage lender showing current 0.00 balance. They replied that they could not since it is not in their policy. I told them FACTUALY that the determination of the loan resides on showing a 0..00 balance on the account, yet they still would not comply. If the loan actually does go through, the very next day I will be canceling First Premier Bank credit card. Ironically, Consumer Reports Magazine has rated First Premier Credit Card as THE WORST credit card. They denied me and managed to tack on a credit increase inquiry fee. This is very curious seeing that I have several major credit cards well over 1000.00 limit. I believe they should actually be brought up on attemted robbery charges. I just feel bad for all of the naive people who may go through a similar experience.

I received an application for a credit card from First Premiere Bank to help repair my credit score. Upon receiving this card, There was a limit of $300. I was also charged a total of $179 for setup fees and other expenses that the company said was required for me to get the card. These charges were hidden fees and were not stated by the person that I talked to. The company misrepresented themselves and in return, I got burnt in the Deal. They continued to add charges after I cancelled my card. This is in violation of consumer rights. This company had to pay 4.5 million dollars to the State of New York in damages resulting in charging illegal fees. Now the account has been forwarded to a collection agency that harasses me on a daily basis. Is there anyone that help represent me in filing a civil suit against First Premiere Bank and First Revenue Assurance Collection Agency? Please contact me.

I found the statement which is due the 10th showing my minimum payment due is $71.69. I called and spoke with Candice but every time I asked about this, she kept repeating myself telling me I shouldn't have agreed to it. I responded by informing her that their staff shouldn't give me false information and pressure me to make a payment. I have never submitted a complaint before except with eBay once and issue was resolved. I was approved for a credit limit of 300 dollars and there were 179 dollars worth of start up fees. That leaves me 121 dollars worth of credit available. There are also charges that continue after the first bill for set up and an additional charge for online billing. I called and cancelled the card without having to pay them any balance.

I think they should be reviewed because they are purposely targeting folks with poor credit. People that might not have the ability to just tear this card up. It seems like an unfair business practice, consumers be warned.

I've had the First Premier MasterCard since November 2007. I've always paid the card very diligently before the due date, I've paid off the entire balance and have overpaid and had credit. I had not used the card in about 3 mos. and last month (August) I thought I sent in the payment, but I did not realize that I hadn't.

They called me on a Sunday night one month after the missed payment and asked for the entire balance. They charged late fee and the annual fee and which caused the card to go over the limit. At the time I had a $90 line of credit and once they applied late charge and the annual charge it sent the card over the limit and they quickly reported it on my credit report.

I have been a very good customer, always paying on time, paying more than what is due and I rarely used the card, it only has a $275 credit limit. I was shocked and surprised that no one called me sooner to ask about my payment. If they cared about me as a customer and saw from my billing record that I have never missed on been late since I got the card.

It seems as though good banking practices would have kicked in somewhere, but instead they just slammed me with the fees and reported it on my credit report as over the limit. I have not used the card in over 3 mos. It's over the limit now and I have not bought a damn thing to get it there. I will be closing this as soon as I pay it off.

I did receive a call from Breann telling me that I had until 3pm Central time (4pm EST) on 8-31 to call them or my account would be charged off on my credit.

I called them at 3:50pm Central time (before the deadline on my message). I advised them that I could pay $100 if I borrowed it from something today. They would only accept the payment if I sent it Western Union. I advised I did not have a Western Union near me. She then kept me on the phone saying that she was looking for a Western Union in my area. At 3pm central time she said oh well I don't see any Western Unions in your area and it's past the time so you are charged off as of now I told her that I had called before the deadline and that was not fair. She then said It's not fair to us that you can't pay your bills on time and that you waited to the last minute to call us, Your account is now Charged off then she hung up on me.

This results in me have a charge off on my credit (as if my credit wasn't already hurtig). I feel that they were determined to charge off the account no matter when I called. Yes I was behind and I had contacted them about it before. I was trying to make a small payment but they would not allow me to. They did this on purpose to cause me pain. Also, there was so much laughing and talking in the background I had to ask her three time what she said. Someone told me that my bank must have sold them my information. Not only that, but to send out this unsolicited card with fees on it and to make it MY RESPONSIBILITY to cancel it, to make sure I don't get charged for those fees! That is I may not get charged for those fees because according to the paperwork they sent with it: You may cancel your Credit Account at any time by notifying us by telephone or in writing. Even after your Credit Account is closed, you remain responsible for paying any amounts you owe on the Credit Account according to the terms of this Contract.

This company main job is to collect fees for reasons they should not. They also offer second cards as a way to increase your credit line just to get more fees, if they really wanted to give you a credit line they would just increase the existing card. Why are they allowed to give you a second card of the same type for the same credit line. This is robbery and should not be allowed.

They take advantage of people with low credit scores and people with new credit. They are criminals, why does the government allow banks and credit card companies to take advantage of the uninformed or uneducated consumers. It's wrong and they all know it. The damage is they are making it almost impossible to pay them on time, with all the extra fees associated with the account. In June, 2008, I contacted the bank because there was a $50 phoned in payment by the bank to my checking account. I told them I had not authorized this and that the representative who called the week before had done this because he was angry that I was not making the payment when HE demanded. I guess he decided he would put it through anyway at any amount that didn't make it a felony.

This was done during a time when Michigan had power outages due to storms and every penny I had was going to keep my family fed and taken care of - evidently this guy didn't much care he had to wait an extra week before I made the payment. After taking $225 payments on both cards which I made such large payments because I was told the cards were open and I would be able to use the credit as soon as it went through - I found out I had been lied to and that the accounts are closed.

I have contacted their loss prevention department and told them that the payment was returned to my account along with the overdraft/returned check fee from FPB to my card but they refuse to acknowledge it. I sent them the paperwork they wanted and have been told that Loss Prevention received it, didn't receive it, is working on, call back next week, tomorrow, next month - these people have NO idea what is going on with any of the accounts. The damage that it may cost me is that I will be charge interest on the stupid behaviors of the bank, as they have done before, charge sums that are not reasonable to consumere. I even tried to get them to put all the money I owed them into one account. They refused.

What does not make any sense is why they want to put me into collection on one account when I alway pay for both at one time. This to me just not help with my credit score and puts me into a finanial bind when I am trying to pay them off so I would not yet credit cards again. They are too much of a bother and are ripping the public off and putting our economy backwards. I am on disablity and do not need any more cost that I can not afford.

I applied and received a secured credit. The offer declared that with the First Premier Bank Card, a person can build up their credit without and the interest rate remains low unless the person is late in paying their bill. Though the limit on the card was $300.00, I was only allowed to charge a maximum of $75.00 until the the cost of $250.00 to obtain the card, was paid in full.

The first bill I obtained requested payment but added several other charges not originally included in the company's advertisement. I first sent an email and recently wrote a letter, advising the company that I wanted to cancel the card and wanted a bill for only the charges I made (though I believe those charges were all previously paid). The company responded by stating that I had been reported to the 3 credit reporting companies and that they were going to submit a request that the debt be coded as a charge-off (a collection account which the company has failed to collect upon).

I recently called again and reiterated my request. Instead of receiving a bill I received 15 messages from representatives of the company, asking that I call so that they could provide me with some counter offers. I guess telling them I don't want their card and asking for a final bill referencing what I actually charged and a record of my payments, is too much for First Premier to comprehend.

Yesterday, 7/3/08, I received another bill in which I am asked to pay a minimum of $346.24. My total balance is alleged to be $446.24. The the limit charge alone is $196.24.

The company has added a negative mark to my record. My requests have been ignored and they have added exorbedent fees and penalties which exceed the amount I originally agreed to pay. I am stressed, concerned and very angry.

I decided that it was time for me to get a credit card, despite warnings from friends and family members that have had bad experiences. I got an offer from First Premier, so I decided to accept it. Little did I know what I was getting myself into.

Like everyone else, I received my card with $179 already charged to it. I thought, well... it's an investment in my credit future. So I decide to sign up with their web site so I can better monitor the activity and have the convenience of paying the bill online. They charged me for signing up on their website. O.k. I thought I would make a payment early, as I thought this would look good on my credit. It costs money to make a payment. $11. They auto-drafted my checking account, after I provided them with my account information.

Then, after my payment posted to my account, my available balance did not change. So I gave it a couple days and nothing. After attempting to find their contact information on their website, I was forced to send an email... which has yet to be returned. Another couple days go by. I decided to give them a call. I found their number on the bank's website as it is not listed on the credit card's site. The young lady who I was speaking with, not-so-politely informed me that automatically deducting funds from my checking account was not a secure form of payment... and they had the right to hold the payment for 20 days.

I, for one, do not feel like giving this company an interest free loan. I intend to pay the remaining balance, in full via money order. -- I don't like the idea of my money floating around in limbo, and why should I have to pay them just to give them money? Oh and have you seen some of the things on First Premier Bank's website?

I paid my bill, I wanted to cancel it but I wanted to go over the reprecussions of cancelling the credit card so, I would call back. She said that she would notate my account about the charge so, the wouldn't report it as going over the limit, and also if I were to close it with her she was going to comment on the closing that it was due to the fees.

Now, I call in on June 30th, 2008 spoke with a customer service representative about cancelling the account, I was then told I was over the limit by $6 . I asked the notes on my account that Dawn stated she made on the previous call, she said that there were no notes, and it has already been reported to the bureaus that I'm over the limit, and of course due to their fees.

I asked to speak to a supervisor I was then transferred to Crystal #40105 she then proceeded to tell me the same thing if I were to cancel I would still be reported as being over the limit and I would have to pay a $3 fee for any balance on the account every month including their account maintenance fee which is charged as a finance charge for what reason they do that I don't know. If I were to keep the account open I am to pay the 27.00 charge including the amount over the credit limit, and if I were to increase the credit limit I would then be charged 25.00 for that service. What I don't understand is the incorrct reporting that can be done by this credit card company and their outrageous fees.

They won't pay attention until you complain to agencies that will actually go after them. Here is the Attorney General of South Dakota's website. Just click complaint and file it. Also there was a charge of $150 membership annual fee, and there were other charges that left me with a credit line of about $60.00 to use right then. She said that once I made the first payment all this would cover all the fees and other charges; once all the fees was paid, I would have the full line of credit. They have constantly called my home daily, three to four times, harassing me; and I have told them repeatedly that they got $100.00 for a $14.95 charge, and they better be satisfied with it because there is no more money coming their way. This man was telling that since I was late I owed the entire amount now. Keep in mine, SEVEN DAYS LATE, I was floored. I told him that I could not give the whole amount and he wanted to know what date he can put on my check to put it through. I told him that I could give him half, $145.00. He finally took that offer and then told me that there was a pay by phone fee in the amount of $11.00. I voiced my opinion and he proceeded to tell me that I didn't have a problem with it before. I let him know that I was never told that there was a phone fee when I made my payment in the past, if I had, I would had mailed it. At this time the man was getting very stern with me and without any concern for this issue. He then told me that he would bill me the $11.00 and it will show on my next statement. He wanted to know the date of my next payment and wanted to go ahead and make another check for that amount on that certain date. I told him that I could not give a date at this time, only that I knew that I would have this card paid in full and to cancel my account. He repeatedly asked the date for my next payment, I could not give that to him and the more I told him, the more stern he got and made me very upset.

My husband was becoming very upset with the fact that this man had me upset and took the phone away from me. I was so upset with this issue that I began to cry. I had never had anyone make me this upset over a bill. I had never had a company call and give me a hard time about a balance being SEVEN DAYS LATE. This man also told me that this has already been turned in on my credit. Now I have a negative report and money out of my pocket for just a $300.00 limit. I work in a business that requires excellent customer service and that is what I give. I work with those that can't make that monthly payment and go out of my way to save them money in any way possible. I honestly and truly hope that with enough complaints toward this company that they will come to know that customers, like me and many others make that company. I wouldn't want to see them go out of business, just become customer oriented.

Consequences, I have to pay this off. Economically, I am out basically the entire original balance due to all the charges to have one of there credit cards. Physical damage, only to me mentally.

The card only had a $250 limit, over half of which was already used by fee's etc making the card virtually useless until completely paid off. First Premier charges their clients a fee to make payments every month be it by phone or Internet. Who charges their clients to pay their bill? When I called them to ask about these issues, the representative with whom I spoke sounded somewhat inebriated and could not answer my questions. When I asked to speak with a manager, the representative put me on hold, then came back onto the line and said his manager didn't have any answers for me either.

They only have daytime business hours, and no customer service number that is available 24 hours a day. What if my card were to be stolen after 5PM? I have accounts with Chase Visa and Discover Card and have never had any of these issues with them. I have stopped using the card and plan to close the account next week. The First Premier web site states that they will roll up their sleeves to help their customers. They don't do it, however, because they have too many cards hidden in them.

One year after getting the card, I was financially unable to keep up the minimum payments. It seemed as if when I made the minimum payments, the card balance would increase by the next billing cycle. The card was charged off eventually and on February 14, 2005, I made an agreement with collection agency Accounts Receivable Management to pay a portion of what First Premier Bank claimed I owed, which was $299.

Not being knowledgeable of the agreements that I could make with collection agencies or credit card companies, I allowed First Premier Bank to report the accounts as settled for less than owed and other derogatory information, including leaving the account listed as derogatory. That year I received a card without applying in the mail from First Premier Bank, in an effort to improve my credit I accepted and have had the card ever since. In the interim I have been talking with Julie Giles, President of First Premier Bank, who sent me a listing of all my invoices, as well as shot me down every time stating she will not change the status from a Derogatory account to Current, as well as listing it as Closed Paid. They were able to do so with one of the three bureaus but won't do it for the other two. I have been fighting and fighting and just December 2007, they sent me a Platinum card in the mail for being such a good card holder, how could you extend me an additional $350 yet not make a simple change to my credit report? For this I am boycotting First Premier Bank, if you want a credit card that will improve your credit, use Rewards 660, they increase your credit limit $100 every time you make three consecutive monthly payments, good deal and they currently report to Transunion and Equifax.

The damage is every time I dispute something with them whether it be for them to update my credit balance on my other cards they're unresponsive, and also told me that they will not be making any changes to my credit report.

I have tried to contact them, in vain. Impossible to get a human--almost totally automated. At one point I finally got a rep., who claimed I was not in their system, so they would not/could not remove the inquiry from my report. I don't know what to do other than file a dispute. My understanding is that disputes are extremely difficult to remove. Any suggestions appreciated! Am considering hiring an attorney (Contingency, as I am on disability). I only found out because I had to request my credit reports because of the ID Theft.

About two years ago I received a gold credit card from First Premier Bank. I obtained a $200 credit limit and was allowed about $100.00 after all of their fees were taken. I have made all of my payments on time. About a year ago I moved back in with my ex-wife. Since I have no bank account she helped with sending a check for my payments; I would deposit monies into her account. I decided to pay off my card to build my credit; however, after a couple of months there was a hold put on my account. First Premier wanted to know who was writing the checks for my payments and required written permission to insure that I was not writing on an account without permission to do so. My ex-wife wrote a letter and faxed it to the security division. All the while they did not allow me to have access to the $370.00 I paid on my card. First Premier then required a written letter from me stating I was not a writer on this account. I did that.

By now it's going on approximately a month, and I am being told it will still be 3 to 5 days before this situation is resolved. Then again I was told my ex-wife needed to obtain a written statement from her bank showing that the $370.00 had indeed been paid. She did that and faxed it to the security department. I made a purchase before any of this insanity started for $250.00 to Sportsman Guide and then canceled that order to which the company refunded my credit card. First Premier has held this money as a credit but has not to this day returned it. I paid almost four hundred dollars in good faith as I use it to pay bills, food, etc. I believe this treatment is an invasion of my rights I would appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.

My first mistake was that I had inadvertently paid the renewal fee for the second year. I then sent Customer Service a notice that I wished to cancel service. Not only did they not close my account but held a few charges until two days AFTER the next service year. I then found that they then considered the account not only not canceled, but that these charges constituted my acceptance of the second year. After losing the argument with them that I had not effectively canceled my account, I begrudgingly agreed to pay off the amount due and that my renewal fee was additionally lost.

They are now accessing me a three dollar fee for some Carrying Cost, whatever that means. I have been unable to get Customer Service to explain what this cost is, nor how long I will have to continue to pay this cost. They also explained that I will be assessed an additional late fee ($15) if I do not pay this. What is extremely confusing is that they now show this account to be closed. So how can they charge me this?

They denied the increase on the same card, but offered us ANOTHER credit card, with the same limit and the same fees. They did this to collect the high fees and additional interest rates. We think it was unfair to do this and took advantage of us. Due to financial medical problems, we had to let the cards go to charge off, as we were unable to pay on both of them. I also had my own card with the same fees and high finance charge. Those fees and other misc. charges times 3-- this is a lot in fees. After 3 years of a sparkling clean payment history, not to mention acquiring 4 different credit cards each with $2000-$3000 credit limits and a credit score of 710, I got a great offer from First Premier. It stated that because of my perfect payment history and great credit, I had qualified for their Platinum Card with better rewards and higher credit limit.

I thought to myself, why not? I sent in the paperwork and 2 weeks later I received a new First Premier Platinum Card.
