    I tried to place an order for 4 wigs. The girl taking my order must have just started working there. I can' t remember how long it was taking for the order to be placed. I was on and off on hold several times. She stated she couldn't give me any discounts because I had picked Paula's choices. Ok. But I was to get a discount as a first time buyer. Well That didn't happen either. Ok just place the order. Now she changes the prices. No look on the page see the prices. That didn't matter either. So I never placed the order. Terrible company to work with.

    Tried to cancel my order of 3 wigs that they charged me more than the actual bill they emailed me. Customer service hung up on me. Don't contact them through email because it comes back. I was supposed to be contacted by customer service on overbilling in 24 to 48 hours, no call or email. The wigs are okay for cheap wigs. I can handle some of that. But being hung up on and overbilling and ignoring the situation screams scamming.

    I should have read these reviews first. The wig I ordered did not look like the one in the picture. It was not curly like the pic. It is very poorly made. When trying to get a refund, I have to pay shipping again. $18.00 for shipping and handling to ship it the first time. Then to ship back would have been $12.00. They don't refund either shipping. So I would be out $30.00. Ridiculous. So I'm donating it. I should have known better than to order directly from them. Should have stuck with Amazon. My shipping is always free and I can return things and get full refund. Do not order from this company.

    I've purchased and worn Paula Young wigs for 5 years, and in the beginning they were made well and a wig lasted for up to a year with good care. In the last two years they've become poor quality wigs, thin hair on brand new wigs and the wigs lose their hair quickly... and they don't always fit the same. Even though they are tagged as large size they have been too small. Obviously the employees that put these wigs together do not have creative quality in mind, just mass production. I'm very disappointed in this company and will look to a reputable wig business with great reviews.

    The last wig I just purchased was supposed to be the same as one I purchased a year earlier...it is far from the same as far as consistency in texture/fiber, amount of hair and fit...the one I received has a lot less hair on top..the style is somewhat consistent but doesn't lay the same. I will be keeping it and making due because it is not worth paying for shipping to return...in other words, you don't ever know what you're going to get!! A previous one I had purchased and just paid to return was far from the way it appears in the catalog!

    I placed an order to include two wigs. One was received in a timely fashion. However, the second wig was not. I received several emails stating my order had shipped. Both wigs were for a special out of town event. The second wig was not shipped until 42 days later with no explanation. By the time the wig arrived, the event was long over, and I was out of the country. I contacted the company to request a refund. While I was polite and courteous, they nevertheless hung up on me. When I called back and asked to speak to a manager, my call was disconnected again.

    I ordered two wigs, hair spray and some nylon head covers. The order did arrive fairly quickly, so I will give them that, but the wigs came damaged, or appeared to have been worn. One of the wigs you could see the mesh through the top. I returned both. I kept the other items. I have not heard from them since I have returned the items and it's been over 2 almost 3 weeks. I called my credit card company and I am now disputing the purchase. The frustrating thing about this company is that people are usually shopping there because they have hair loss, cancer, or other conditions causing them to lose their hair which is extremely distressing. They make it that much worse by having a poor return policy and no customer service.

    I’m marking the issue as resolved after the company says that it is sending another wig. There is still some problematic behavior. The company blamed not checking the right box, essentially expecting the customer to jump through hoops to get the discount instead of making it easy. The mentality is “you should do more” rather than “we want your business.”

    Beware. This is a company that will deliberately advertise a 2 for 1 offer to get your order and then ship you only one, billing you full price plus shipping. They did to us and our call kind of indicates that this is standard practice. Good wigs but terrible company with poor pricing and service. Used to be a good company with decent prices. We used them for many years. Perhaps there was a change of ownership or management.

    Love the wigs but today have tried 4 different codes that were sent to me to get free shipping and each one does NOT take shipping off the total price. I refuse to pay half the price of the wig to ship it to me. Ridiculous!

    I returned 3 wigs to Paula Young all because they were too large & color was not what was ordered. Their quality control has been awful which is why so many returns. I received a letter stating I needed to call them for a merchandise credit on one of the wigs (which they would not give me to use on an internet order). In that conversation, I realized that the full cost I paid for each wig was not refunded. There is a $24 discrepancy. The one on the phone claimed this is due to a service charge. There is a $1.95 "service fee" added to the order but shipping was free. BB needs to check out this company.

    I recently purchased a wig from Paula Young for $29.99. When checking out a fee of $1.95 is an old surcharge they used when the pandemic began & never removed it. By the time it comes to “Place your Order” — the total cost comes to $48.27 for a $29.99 wig. I think that’s outrageous! $18.27 in extra charges is outrageous! There are many other online wig sellers that have much better pricing than Paula Young Wigs or Wigs.com. With lower shipping charges and no Surcharges! That’s where I’ll be shopping from now on.

    I waited weeks for my $351.75 wig and when it arrived it was a very long thin curly blonde thing with a miniature cap. It must be for a hair extension for some young girl, not an 87 year old woman like myself. Customer service was argumentative with no resolve. They finally agreed to a return and I had to go to the post office - I have the tracking number and all the info. The $351.75 is still on my charge card and I returned the item weeks ago. I thought they might outsource some of their products because this error was so huge. I should have all costs returned to me, shipping, packing, taxes. I was cheated once before on Wigsis. They sent a wig I wouldn’t wear on Halloween. It’s hard to trust these wig companies. I thought Paula Young had a good reputation but the wig I was sent was bizarre. How could a reputable company make such a huge error and then not take responsibility, Order from Bear Wig Outlet or WigStudio1 - they were both great. .

    I ordered the Emersyn in mocha frost. It is a little curly in the picture but is not listed as curly wig. What I got was Shirley Temple curly and the color was white. I have seen other pictures of mocha frost and it is not white. I have ordered several wigs from them before and always been very happy. I called and was told of the 45 dollars I spent 10 will be deducted for shipping and 20 for processing. So I might get 15.00 back. I don't think this is right since it was all their mistake. I would understand if I got what I ordered and just didn't like it. I won't buy from them again.

    Returned a wig I bought.. Took to PO.. Weighed in at 12 ozs.. Tracking showed it was picked up by their employee.. When I asked where my refund was they tell me they received an empty box that was not tampered with. Thus was impossible. I told them because the weight when shipped was 12 ozs.. The empty box weighed 3 ozs,. Your employee picked it up..then he lost it A.after keeping me on the phone forever they say they will refund me.. We will see.... Such a total scam.

    I ordered the Dahlia wig in wheated root blonde and this is what happened after 1 month of wear. Paula young states that you may use a flatiron on very low heat, that's exactly what I did... This is what it looks like in a month!

    I did research company prior to buying, but apparently not in deep depth. I wish I had. I received the 2 wigs yesterday. Although they seemed quality, they did not work for me. I proceeded as enclosed instructions and kept everything new and intact. I contacted customer service yesterday and received the most disrespectful, unhappy employee. Did not represent the company with dignity, nor a customer. I explained to her I was new at wig buying and that I had to send these 2 back. I also explained that I did exactly as instructed by the card enclosed. The broken English-speaking woman was so very rude and continued to not let me speak.

    I even tried to over-talk her to explain to her my dilemma but she kept talking over me. I tried to be nice but it did not matter. I am sending these 2 wigs back. The company better not even think about charging me the return shipping nor a restocking fee. Because if they do, I am disputing it with my credit card. If that doesn't work I will turn them into BBB. Customer service? There is none with this company!

    Every review that reflects ONE STAR is spot on: This company will NOT stand by its refund policy, and is extremely difficult to work with after a purchase. The slow, inefficient process to return/exchange/credit is archaic and specifically inept. I am disputing the charges with my credit card company in order to recoup part of what should be rightfully refunded. Steer clear of this sham of a company!

    The wigs themselves are nice but I only know the Whisperlite line. But the company is horrible. All kinds of add ons to your initial wig price and they have a horrible return policy. They do not care about the customer at all after you have purchased the wig. I would only use them if you can't get it someplace else.

    Wanted to return a wig and exchange for another..same price. Waited 2 weeks with no word till I called to find out status.. Was told they issued me a partial refund.. Very upset as No one called or emailed me. I called few times prior to today's call. They don't care if they have your business..I'm shopping elsewhere.

    I buy wigs from many different sites. But most of them are inexpensive wigs because I'm on a budget. So I was extremely excited when Paula Young had a great sale and I was able to get one of her wigs. It was normally a $130 wig that I got for $19.99 plus shipping and handling. When I got the wig it was beautiful in the front but in the back you can literally see the cap through the hair. I'm so disappointed I can't even begin to tell you. The cut is beautiful on the wig. The hair is beautiful but it is worthless to me if I am worried that people can see the cap every time they look at the back of my head. I feel like people would be laughing at me. So I'm extremely disappointed!!

    My 92 year old mother ordered a wig because she is getting thin in back. The wig they sent her was too small so she sent it back. I called for her because she received a letter stating she would not be getting her money back because she ordered clearance. The wig she paid for was 29.99 and when I called they said she would get a 20.84 cent credit or exchange. I asked why 20.84 when she paid 29.99. They said they charged her 9.99 for shipping and a dollar(?). So my mom said she would order a 39.99 wig and apply the 20.84 toward it.

    When I called they said that equals 61 and some cents and with the 20.84 credit it would be 40. I asked how? And they said 39.99 wig, 12.99 shipping and tax and getting product off the shelf and anything else they could think of. Surprised they didn't charge us to talk to us. When I said you advertise free shipping on your catalog, she said page "2" at the very bottom in small letters it says free shipping on orders of 59.00 or larger. This Co. is deceiving, crooked and should be shut down for deceitful practices.

    I purchased The Shannon Wig and 4 other items at 30% off on 2/3/24. Wigs are advertised online to arrive from the US in 5-7 days. After tracking the order a promise of delivery 2/18/24. I have sent emails and have been since blocked. Customer Service has told so many different stories, and the order is not correct and the price is not correct. Today is my birthday and no refund or products. I am dying of Cancer and on Disability. Thank you Paula Young. You are a thief and fraudulent Company.

    Purchased 2 wigs and had to return them. I ordered another wig which I have already received and waiting for acknowledgment that my return has been received. I reviewed the packing list and the order total was $85.74 and the cost of the wig was $59.99. They added a $1.95 fee for staging (?) and $3.99 for staging (?) with sales tax ($5.82) and shipping/handling ($13.99). I will never order from this company again!

    Paula Young advertises free shipping and returns. However, they only returned 2/3 of the money I spent on a full wig because they charge for all manner of handling and shipping costs. For a $90 wig I purchased and returned, I was reimbursed $68. I'll never do any business with them again.

    I purchased a wig from Paula Young with a 30% off coupon and free shipping. The total was $213.29. Before the hairpiece came, Paula Young Co. withdrew $300.88. I called the company and they said that the wig I purchased was not subject to a 30% discount so they took the 30% away from my order and charged me a total of $300.88 which was tax included. They NEVER notified me of this error or change. I have a receipt from my initial purchase and I feel they should honor the price I agreed to. I never would have bought the wig at their regular price. Thank goodness I had the money in my account or payments I made to others may have bounced and I would have been charged a service fee. They will not budge on the price at all. I returned the wig which they can keep and I will NEVER buy another wig from them again. This should be illegal and very poor customer service.

    I ordered a wig. I called the company asking how I could work with them to make the wig look better. The woman had a heavy Asian accent and was hard to understand. Her attitude was clear: she didn't care. Since then Paula Young keeps adding on more charges to my credit card, in small amounts. What a scam!!

    I purchased two styles of wiglets. My hairdresser recommended one of the styles, however, she said the hair was so sparse that I should order two and she would try to "weave" them together. I returned them and was charged $10 for the return and $1 for ?????. The second order was for two of the "delicate touch", but they sent the wrong color-their error. After speaking with two "customer service" reps, I finally was linked to a supervisor who asked that I return them and she would send out the correct color with no return fee for the previous two. As of today, not only did they charge $10 return fee, plus $1 for ????, but did not credit me the amount I paid for them. So....I have paid $145.67 for two wiglets that were advertised to be $119.98. Besides the fact that the wiglets have hardly any hair in them (I never put either on my head), I am out $25.59 for what? I guess the old adage: "You get what you pay for" (cheap equals cheap) is true. Never again!

    I returned 2 wigs because they were not as expected and just did not look good on me. I returned the items (Meryl and Harlow wigs) on 8/31/23 using their return label for which I paid extra and will be deducted from my refund. They received the items on 9/11/23. They have a policy of giving you the refund, but you have to wait 7 to 10 business days to get the refund according to their Customer Service Rep. It's surprising to me that it should take so long to get a refund. On the back of their packing slip, which you get in the box with the wigs, it clearly states that it takes them 3 business days to process a refund or exchange. This means that I should have gotten a refund by now as it has been 4 business days (9/15/23). However, I was told by Customer Service when I called, that I will have to wait until 9/26/23 to get the refund. This means that they do not follow their own procedure on returns.

    You have to pay them immediately when you buy their product but have to wait what seems to me to be a very long time to get a refund and totally different from what it states on the back of their packing slip!!!! I think they should have a better system in place, being a very large company, to get you a refund more promptly and to also follow their own policy on returns and exchanges!!! I am very unhappy with Paula Young's service, not to mention they add on a charge of $1.95 which they call a "staging fee". There is no explanation as to why they add this charge to your bill.

    I've been a customer of Paula Young wigs for 22+ years. Since then, wigs I ordered, different styles and colors: absolutely no problem! Tired of wearing a basic cap I wanted a full monofilament top wig, because it can be parted anywhere you want it, and it would look real. When "Heart of Gold" wigs with a full monofilament top was shown in the catalog, I was thrilled! Now, I know every wig is cut and styled before each photo. As said before, never was disappointed. I ordered ALLURING. Loved it, but in no way did it resemble the photo. I had to trim the bangs, which I knew how to do.

    After a couple of weeks I decided the blonde wasn't for me. Couldn't return because tags were cut off. No problem, donated it. I then purchased COMFORT. The bob style with bangs was perfect. The photo in the catalog showed the sides to be just a bit below the chin. When received, the sides were almost to the bottom of my neck. I kept the tags on but HUNTED for a wig stylist near me. There were none, so back it went. I then ordered JEWEL. I loved the beachy waves, no bangs, but that was okay. When I tried to move the part, the "full" monofilament top was practically bald. VERY little hair. I called customer care and was told to send it back. The tags were still there, but I told the woman I spoke with what was wrong with it. I didn't want it to get sent to someone else. I said that whoever is in quality control, to ensure that each wig, before packed, was in perfect condition, needed to find a new job.

    I then ordered ALLURING again, in 10/26 Buttered Toast. In the meantime I found a woman who cuts and styles wigs, and has done so for over 15 years. She was TWO HOURS away, but I was determined. She cut and styled it as best she could, all the while looking at the photo. She told me that there were very many 1/2 inch hairs sticking up on top of the wig. She had to make a part way over to the side, staying within the monofilament top, to cover the hairs. She cut the bangs, but couldn't style it like the photo. She didn't want to cut more off, and get too close to the cap. It did, however, look very pretty. She told me that the wig wasn't made well at all, and that within two months I had better order another one. She was right.

    After two weeks, and not even wearing it every day, I would wear my MEG wig. The strands on ALLURING were getting kinky and frizzy. I always kept it on the stand, didn't wash it as I only wore it maybe 8 days, and never went near any type of heat: barbeque, stove, oven, not even near the bathroom. I have always used Paula Young shampoo, conditioner, styling gel and hairspray. Always. The ratty strands of hair on my new wig were very noticeable. I went back to wearing my MEG, which was 15 years old and looked as good as when I bought it!

    I emailed customer service and requested the email for customer care, as it might be different. I received an email back from customer service and they insisted that it could be hot weather (huh? I live in the South and the hot weather never affected any of the wigs I had) or, I HAD to have gotten too close to a heat source. It took me 45 minutes to compose my email, detailing every single problem I'd had with COMFORT, JEWEL AND NOW MY SECOND ALLURING. Realizing I was dealing with dummies who either didn't read what I wrote, or couldn't comprehend it, I decided to call customer care. But, I received the catalog for deferred billing until November. Being on Social Insecurity, a couple of months would give me time to save.

    I thought I would order SPARKLE. I thought that maybe with this style, even if it was longer than showed, I might have some good luck. Monofilament top wigs at other wig companies cost over $350. I called customer care and was told that I must have been too close to heat, and constant wearing (I told the woman I didn't wear it every day, but sporadically for maybe 8 days) would cause the wig to go ratty. And she said, "anyway, wigs only last 3-4 months". I asked if she could explain how the Meg, that's 15 years old, looked like new. She couldn't. I told her I would switch out with 2 Versa fiber wigs, JAMIE LYNN, 10 years old each, that still looked like new. She didn't understand how.

    I asked: different manufacturers? a lesser brand of Kanekalon fibers from a different overseas company? She said no. I asked if there was a policy that when a wig received is absolutely perfect in every way, and naturally you cut the tags off, but 2 weeks later looks like a rat's nest and totally unwearable, what then? Answer, well basically, tough. I'm smart enough to know, being a wig wearer for 22+ years, that if a wig worn for 8 days AND NOT 8 DAYS IN A ROW, goes haywire the manufacturer must be made aware of it. If I still had the wig, I tossed it, I would send it back. The lack of actually listening to what I was saying, and admitting something may be wrong in its construction, and getting the same answer ad nauseam, IT WILL BE A COLD DAY IN HELL BEFORE I PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM PAULA YOUNG!

    Updated on 09/16/2023: Paula Young wigs is the worst company. I received a defective wig that the hair was falling out in globs. I have now sent both wigs I bought from them back. The company offered to accept them back. They have had them since 09/05. I have no money, no wigs. I can not afford to buy any other wigs from anywhere else. All they have done is told me to wait a few more days. Is two weeks not long enough? I am now going to BBB and will post reviews on Youtube so anyone that reads this will stay away from them. My husband has a huge clientele at his salon, many are wigs wearers. They will know this horror story as well.

    Original Review: I bought Sheer Elite Hand-Tied WhisperLite® Lace Front Wig by Couture Collection. This is my first wig but I did hours of research in wigs, up keep and maintenance prior to going down the wig road. I will say the color was pretty. The wig from day 1 is not just shedding. I am covered in hair every time I use a pick, wig brush or breathe near it. This wig has bald spots worse than my own hair. The quality is horrible, not what I signed up for in my first wig experience. I cannot wear it, return it, so I am now without my own hair, the wig nor can I afford another wig. In calling the company I was greeted by a robotic agent that repeated the same ** statement it cannot be returned/exchanged. I am stuck with it.

    I will never buy anything from them again, Had I seen these reviews prior to buying I would not have bothered horrible company. I will continue to blast this all-over social media, You tube, and anywhere I can review this company. Disgusting. I got charged for elite without asking signing up. Had to cancel it and wait for a check for a refund. BBB is next.
