I usually don’t ever write reviews but I was EXTREMELY satisfied with my last experience at Midas. From the minute I walked in the door, to updates on my car's status, to checking out and being given all details, I have zero complaints. I was walked through everything, and as a woman, did not feel scammed at all (have had this happen at many other places). Overall, a refreshing experience and the front desk guys were amazing, specifically the one that checked me in (if you see this, give him a raise!!!). Will be going here forever from now on!

Midas case ** 401 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90813. Homophobic ** store manager. I am never going here again. So, I work nights and I have a Corporate F150 work truck. About a month before I had a tire replaced with little fuss. I told them I wanted a name brand tire like Toyo, Michelin, Cooper. What do they do, they put on a cheap Chinese Sailun tire that I did not request. Then, yesterday I had a tire pop I put on the spare myself. It did not help that they put 51psi in each of my old tires when 36 is the spec. So I drive up after the authorization company called at 1 that I am arriving. I get there at 2 dead tired from the night shift before. They tell me they do not have tire in stock and that I will have to wait til tomorrow.
Today I get out at 3 pm no call or text. I go to the shop and the tire is ready. No call or text. I had already arranged to go to Cooper that had the tire in stock assuming they were not ready. Then I get there and I tell them to take their tire off, I am going somewhere else he refused. I told him that my time is valuable and I am doing this on my day off. He did not care.

I was having trouble installing the cabin air filter in the wife's Nissan Altima coup, which is apparently different from the youtube videos that I reviewed. I called and he told me to come right over and he came out and finished the installation for me very quickly. We take that car up for routine maintenance regularly and have never had a bad experience.

Recently went to the Midas at 183 US Highway 45 in Grayslake IL. Avoid that location whenever possible. Have been going to Midas shops in IL, CA and WI for many years. Most have been excellent and trustworthy...would mostly be 10 on a scale of 10. This one in Grayslake apparently has apparently come under new ownership and management. If there are minus signs possible, they would get a minus 15 on the same 10 point scale. Meineke nearby did a far better and honest ant trustworthy job and a simple stainless weld spot repair on an all stainless exhaust system for only $80. Date of experience: March 06, 2025.

Had two 3 foot pieces of straight pipe repaired due to rust total of 4 simple welds. Took one hour to complete the job. Was charged 460.00 for the labor. Was told it was estimated to take 2 hours so that’s what they charged me. 198.00 per hour. Then continued to rub salt in the wound by charging an extra 40.00 for the exhaust inspection. When I asked why I was told it was for looking to see what the issue was. I asked well you tell me how in the hell you're going to fix it without looking at it. Said it was just their policy and they had to take care of the technician who did the work. Maybe try taking care of the customer instead of squeezing every last nickel out of their pocket. Sorriest bunch I’ve ever dealt with. Never again. Hope this review helps someone else from being robbed by this Mount Pleasant store.

I visited Midas in Hermitage, TN, for an oil change, and it turned out to be a disastrous experience. The day after the service, my car gave me a low oil pressure and high-temperature warning, forcing me to pull over. I had my car towed to the nearest Midas location, where I was informed that they couldn't find anything wrong and didn't work on BMWs. They suggested I go to a specialized service center.
Eventually, I discovered that a part of the oil filter housing was not put back after the oil change. Despite Midas being responsible for the service and apparently discarding the part, they didn't offer to reimburse me for the oil change, the $90 part, the tow, or the diagnostics I had to pay for at BMW. In total, I spent around $500 and endured numerous emails and calls without so much as a penny back. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and additional costs made this experience highly frustrating. I will not return to Midas and cannot recommend their service to others.

Midas estimated part at $350 and charged 175/hr for dx on top of 2.5 hr labor that actually included the 1 hr removal and installation of the part needing replacement. Parts for car online at $25 to $150. When I showed Google results they reduced part to $159. but still charged 2.+ hours in addition labor for .5 hr needed to reinstall the part done in dx. They charged for dx. They charge 25% for credit card charges. Worse they quoted $1500 for front struts and tie rods and bushings for 2003 rx300 when online and auto stores list at $450 total. Midas quotes $2000 for a 2.5 hour labor and parts. They did the job same day but at exorbitant excessive prices even adjusting for inflation. Steer clear of the Mission Viejo Midas shop.

Round rock tx shop is a costly mistake. I asked them to install only chevy catalic converters on my chevy truck. The mgr there said he would call and see if chevy had them in stock and called me back and said they had one set and he would get them and to bring my truck in. I did and believed him. Paid 2500$ for them and left. My truck continued to drive bad emergency light on. I took it to another shop actually 3 other shops think something else must be wrong with truck but they all told me they were after market catalytic converters. I had another shop put correct ones on and they told me 2 of the sensors they installed were loose and other not screwed on correctly and took them hours to get off. When I took them back to Midas for my money back and confronted about lying he stuttered "well I got them from chevy" which he did not and would not give money back. I recently had Midas replace the exhaust system on my wife's car, a 2013 Ford Explorer, the price was $1795.00. They charged me $500.00 for each muffler and $500.00 for the Y pipe. I use to work at O'Reilly's Auto Parts and I looked up the same parts and what O'Reilly's charged for them. The mufflers for someone off the street to buy them was $200.00 each and $250 for the Y pipe. So Midas is price gouging and charging over twice as much for the parts. If I wasn't in a rush I would have never let them do the job but I needed the car back asap. They are robbing the customers blind. They also came up with some other stupid job that I have never heard of for another $1000.00 which I quickly said no to. Buyer beware and shop around because this company will rob you.

I aim to sue Midas. Bought a 2009 6-speed Civic 2 years ago. After purchase I took to Midas and asked what was needed (thinking it would be minimal as the used car dealership said it passed mechanic inspection)/...They did $3000 of repairs. (I don't know cars, but I trusted them - that the car needed the repairs, so I went through with it.) Car was fine until recently -- Battery died. I had it towed, tow man was able to jump it and said I needed to get the "terminal replaced as it was at max capacity". Took it to Midas and said "I don't want to spend more than $3000 if that is what it takes to get the car in perfect running order, I would rather get rid of it and buy a new one - tell me what it costs to get it in perfect order." They came back with a bill of $2800 (funny, I know) - changing struts and other misc things I don't feel I needed. The MAIN THING was to make sure the car would not die.
When I went and picked it up, I paid $2800 on my debit card, they gave me the key and it wouldn't start. Battery was stone dead. Manager claimed he left the headlights on by mistake. At this point, I am suspicious that this man is dishonest. He puts a new battery in and I drive off, uneasy about the whole thing. As I take it I ask him "will this car do another 50,000 or 60,000 miles?" He says "Easily". Not more than 3 weeks later, the car *failed the emissions test*, on a code suggesting the catalytic converter needs repair. I'm informed that this could be a $2000 repair. This is a disgrace - They simply did not diagnose the car when I brought it in, as discussed in paragraph above. As mentioned, I would have sold the car for scrap and bought a new one.
To make matters worse, the car actually died about a week ago. Not only would I have NEVER done the $2800 repair (because it ALSO needs a catalytic converter which they were unaware of because they did not do a diagnosis as requested) but the only thing I brought the car into them to fix in the first place (issue with starting) failed within a month. Never mind 50,000 miles, it didn't make it to 200 miles before it failed. I have contacted Midas Corp via email and voicemail and aim to sue Midas.

Still under supposed warranty buy yet this place refuses to honor as such. Tells me I do not know how to start the Jeep and may have a low battery. They become Anger, hostile if I question them about fixing it, and they just simply refuse to fix it. Preparing a lawsuit against this company.
I would not trust them to fix a flat tire, as they would put it right back onto the vehicle and overcharge you. Many, many people have complaint about them. I am a senior (77 years old living on social security only and having to skip meals to save enough money to hire another mechanic). I came in on a Thursday to schedule repairs. Ended up making appointment for following Friday, 8 days later. I explained that my 18 year old car, a Chrysler 300 needed suspension looked at. Probably needs springs, struts, as it makes noise when I sit down and when I turn the wheel. I also told them I wanted both heat shields fastened down, that they need new fasteners and large washers. Also wanted to look at rear brakes for future appointment, as when I stop the back end wobbles. Got it there by 8:45 on scheduled Friday. The lady wanted to charge me $110 for inspection of suspension and brakes. I told her I would not pay for brake inspection, and to just do front suspension and heat shield. She then did not know what to do and said they could not do the work because I would not pay for inspection. I said, 'forget the brakes. Do the suspension please. She created a new quote. I said, 'thanks'. I then re-explained about the heat shields.
When I called at 12:45, they had not yet looked at it. Then, at 1:15 got a call from the mechanic who said it needs springs as it made noise when he sat down, but they did not have the springs in stock. This pissed me off, as I made appointment 8 days before, and springs were requested by me. He said springs could be in by Monday. I explained that I took a vacation day and had no vehicle the entire day. The reason I made an appointment was I wanted the work done in that time. They ended up charging $775 for upper and lower tie rods on both sides and front end alignment. Holy smokes, that seems excessive. Also, they did not re-install the heat shields, that they were wider than the fastener, (which is why I said to use larger washers, ~D-uh! ) and recommended removal. Another holy smokes.
WTH is wrong with these people? I paid, but they did not fix the rattling and squeaking. They want to charge nearly $800 for springs. But as they did not have in stock when I told them it needed when I made the appointment, and they did not repair the rattling heat shield, which is a simple fix with new bolts and large washers. I won't go back to this shoddy scam Midas in Roosevelt Park, Michigan. Very unhappy with them.

I go to this Midas because of the convenience. They usually can see me without an appointment. The problem is every time I try to use a coupon the manager comes up with some kind of an excuse as to why I can't use it. The coupon clearly states the exclusions and the manager will always say it also doesn't include this or that. Even though the disclaimer on the coupon doesn't say it. It's very shady. I will not be going back and I have spent thousands of dollars since I moved to the North Hills 6 years ago at this location. I tried calling the Midas customer service but they said they will refer to the complaint to the store manager and that person will get back to me. My brakes failed on me one morning after dropping my Fiancée off at work. I went into Midas, and they looked my brakes over. They told me that my brakes were cracked, the rotors were warped, and that I needed to change them ASAP, as they quoted me $650. I decided to buy the brakes and rotors off of Amazon and just do it with my dad instead, since I got the rotors and brakes for a combined total of roughly $50. When I took my wheel off, and my dad started looking at the brake, he goes, “huh, this is interesting.” There were 2 brake pads on one side of my rotor. They attempted to charge me $650 because my brake pads were installed wrong before I bought the car! The rotors? Not warped. They’re perfect. The brake pads? Not cracked, those idiots called the manufacturer gap in the center for enhanced cooling, a crack. They do not know what they are doing, and deserve to go out of business.

BE CAREFUL & WATCH OUT...THIS PLACE IS VERY SHADY!!!! In med of June 2023, I went to Midas (2508 Calumet Str., Valparaiso, IN 46383I) ordered (I paid) a part I needed (Silicone HTR hose) & I also paid for labor which is logical/reasonable to pay for services. Now in early October of 2023, I found out that the part (hose) I paid for was the wrong hose (which they told me in June it was the correct one): the part I got in June 2023 was just a "rubber hose" and the hot air burned a hole in it which cause my engine light to turn on.
So, as of Oct 24 2023, they got me the "correct" hose (Silicone HTR hose) but THEY REQUEST ME TO PAY FOR THE LABOR (AGAIN!!!) TO PUT IN THE CORRECT HOSE...which I ALREADY paid for the labor back in June 2023. I REFUSED to pay for additional labor because I paid for it in June already!!!: if they got the correct part/hose in the 1st place...I wouldn't have to waste my time/energy to get what I paid for. They should be paying me for my time/energy that I wasted for their incompetence!!!!
I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!! This is bad business and VERY CORRUPT: Midas puts in the wrong item that they got from a auto outlet...you have to come back...you don't have to pay for the correction...BUT you have to pay AGAIN for their hour labor: This is how they get you to come back. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR LABOR THE 2ND TIME FOR THEIR (MIDAS OF VALPARAISO') INCOMPENTENCE (LACK OF ABILITY TO DO SOMETHING...THEREFORE, DISQUALIFICATION, INABILITY, & UNFIT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THE POPULOUS)!!!

I went to Midas in Columbus, MS on HWY 45 to get my combination switch and my instrument cluster replaced. When I got the car back the steering wheel was not the in the right position (too low to drive smoothly) and loose going up and down and making very loud noise when turning. Called their new manager Jessica who told me she will call me back and never did. By the end of the business day I drove back to them and she told me she will speak to her manager (I think his name is Kenny or Kayne and will call me back). She never called back for the second time either.
So I drove the car back to them and found that manager Kenny or Kayne who gave me the worst customer service experience ever. He told me that the steering wheel was loose and going up and down when I brought it in which is NOT TRUE. I told him this is NOT TRUE and told him he could ask his mechanics who knew that the steering wheel was working fine and two of them drove the car in and out of the shop before and knew that very well but he did NOT even bother to ask them. This manager Kenny told me in the end in a careless manner that this is NOT the shop responsibility and told me in a defying manner to go do whatever I wanna do or complain wherever I want. They definitely lost my business and I will warn all my friends and coworkers against them. Now I have to spend some more money somewhere else to get it fixed from what they did. Do not use them! My wife and I have used Midas on and off for twenty years but never again! My wife took her vehicle there today and was told by the manager Tanya that she would call her after they took it around the block and that they would NOT do a diagnostic test until after they called her. Upon collecting the vehicle she charged her $180 for a test going completely against what she said in person earlier. When my regular mechanic said my 2000 Neon had a transmission leak back in May 2022, I took my car to Midas in Upper Darby, PA primarily due to its close proximity to my home. I took my car in around 9 AM. Midas told me I had a transmission pan leak, needed a radiator belt, serpentine belt, transmission flush for a total of approximately $700.
The mechanic started working on my car around 10:00 AM. I watched as the mechanic sprayed sealant on the transmission pan for about 20 minutes and then stopped working on my car for about an hour and I couldn't figure out why. I asked the man at the front desk who said they were waiting for a part. At approximately 11:30 AM the part arrived and the mechanic kept looking at it and putting it down. I went to the front desk around 12:00 PM and asked how much longer it was going to take. They ordered the wrong part and were ordering the correct one now. I told them to just fix the leaking pan and replace the radiator belt. I paid $353.14 for the repair.
After my 2023 inspection, my regular mechanic said I had a transmission pan leak! I contacted Midas, said I was there back in 2022 for the same thing and was told by the man answering the phone they don't work on transmissions! I complained to corporate headquarters whereupon a case number was created. Kenny, the manager of the Upper Darby Midas, contacted me and said he would have his master mechanic look over my car to see what was wrong. I made and then canceled the appointment and took my car to a shop specializing in transmission repair.
They found there was no transmission pan leak. It was the coolant lines that were leaking and gasket needed replacement. Midas responded to my review posted on another website and gave me a link to contact them. I did that immediately and have not heard from Midas in weeks. I just want to state if Midas really cares about their name and reputation, they would do quality service inspections of franchised facilities at least once a year or at least contact the customer regarding their satisfaction with Midas' service.

Accidents Happen. I had an oil change done by Midas, five days later, the oil filter came loose and my car spilled six quarts of oil all up the street, up my driveway and partially in my garage. The tow truck driver checked out the filter and told me - yes, that is the problem. Midas gave me a new oil change. After I researched the best way to clean oil off concrete, I told Midas, they were going to reimburse me for the chemicals I needed to buy to clean up my drive. They asked if they could have a chance to clean it first - I said - sure. They were supposed to use a degreaser and pressure washer. I had already ready, a pressure washer would push oil further into concrete and hamper the chemical from doing the best job. I told Midas, I only wanted them to test clean a small strip (in the street).
The first appointment date/time for cleaning, came and went (airline flight issues I was told). The second cleaning date came and went (staffing issues I was told). I had already cleaned my 45 foot driveway with the chemical I bought - it worked perfectly. The third date/time came - and he was only 30+ minutes delayed. When he arrived, I told him, I wanted him to do the 12 inch strip on the street, and some of the asphalt also with the degreaser and power washer. He stated, "Oh, I did not bring a power washer, nobody told me about that." He sprayed degreaser on the driveway, and little section of street, and asphalt and pulled out his mop and bucket and proceeded to mop it all down. The mop left all kinds of mop residue on the driveway - which he promised to come back after work to clean up - it never happened. I power washed it myself two days later.
The following day (9:00 AM) I went to Midas, asked if he got my receipts - yes, I am waiting to get cash in my drawer to refund you. No call that day. No call the next day. I went up there the 3rd day at 9:00 AM. I was told, he has my invoice, and is just waiting for cash in the drawer. End of day - still no word/phone call. I will pursue via other methods. The worst part of the adventure - is the lack of customer service - not just by the store manager - but by the worker who came to my house. Included two pictures -- one example of before their cleaning, second exact picture of after they performed cleaning. (If I can find the link to post the pictures again.)

Updated on 03/18/2023: This is my second review on Consumer Affairs regarding Midas damaging my mother’s vehicle and they deflect all liability. So after speaking with Midas Corporate on 3/14/2023 I was promised to a call from Jason ** (Regional Manager) or William ** (Field Ops Specialist) within a 48 hour window. To nobody's surprise, I never got a call from either person. I follow up yesterday on 3/17/2023 and Derica from corporate says that my ticket has been closed and labeled as resolved. This conversation was captured on a recorded phone line.
This company is worthless aside from Derica who was the only helpful person. Derica gives me Consumer Relations phone number to escalate the issue further. They state that since they are individually owned franchises there's nothing they can do to help with the problem. The common theme is that Midas does not care about your personal assets or safety and will deflect all liability.
In conclusion, Midas and Dylan are cowards. My mother will end up having to buy a new car as they accrued over $5,000 worth of damages to my mother's vehicle. Again, this damage was caused because they grounded their welder to her transmission WITHOUT disconnecting the battery. This fried her TCM and it is not Midas fault according to them even though they physically drove the car into the bay to perform service. Negligence and unprofessional to say the least.
Please take your vehicles to somewhere where the company's practices are NOT brought into question. They do not care about your possessions or your safety. I hope Dylan never receives any sort of bonus for his remaining tenure as he is incompetent and the company as a whole is too. This is NOT the first vehicle that has gone in there and died by their hands, AND IT WON'T BE THE LAST. Consumers, please stay safe and far away from Midas. An absolute joke.
Original Review: Dylan, the manager, at Midas in Peru is the worst individual I’ve ever had to deal with. My mother took her car in for exhaust work a month or so ago. They used glue and never welded anything. Her car still had the same problems and her exhaust was still loud. She brings it back on 3/8/2023 for the same issue and after 4+ hours my mother's car isn’t starting. It was certainly working when it came in for service.
Dylan denies that anything him or his crew did contributed to the car now being a dead and empty hollow shell of its former self. He promised he would have it working by end of day on 3/9/2023. After two visits throughout the day to see how the service is going, and the car not having moved an inch from the day before, Dylan gets aggressive and calls the police to have my mother trespassed from the property.
My mother had to call a tow to get her vehicle and spare keys back from Dylan and Midas. The same key they made her scramble (no other vehicle) for a ride to go back home and get to see if the key was malfunctioning on the vehicle. Dylan and Midas were the last group to work the car and are denying any fault. It’s truly remarkable to see a manager take this stance on service they are supposed to stand behind. Ego/power trip.
Dylan does nothing but yell at customers when you tell him something is wrong and has lied in his attempts to cover his story up. He even refused to give the police any information about Midas and who runs the Peru, IL location. But he was sure in a rush to get the police there and to get my mom out of there. No remedy has been attempted by Midas or Dylan. Please take your services to a reputable company with integrity. Still remaining optimistic they will drop their ego at the Midas in Peru, IL and correct their mistake. I will update my reviews to 5 stars if they do what is right.

Great service, estimate for repairs was reasonable and they completed the work on time. I would like to thank Herb who was very helpful with the quote. They got my car as scheduled and didn't upsell which is a breath of fresh air in the auto industry. The staff was friendly. I will be back!

Called Midas in Winter Haven, asked if they performed oil changes on Mercedes, they replied, "Yes, bring it in." On my way home after Midas performed an oil change, I smell something burning, the temperature gauge is normal, so I proceed until my vision was impaired by the amount of smoke coming out from around my hood, I pull over, lift the hood, and after the smoke subsides, I see puddles of oil, and oil spilled all over different parts of the engine. I called Midas and informed them of the situation, they said to bring the car so they could take a look, I then explained how that probably wouldn't be a good idea considering the obvious.
After they looked at the car after it having to be towed back there, the manager briefly explained there was a malfunction with the "pump" they use to put the oil in, however, couldn't explain why the oil spilled wasn't cleaned up, or why the proper amount of needed oil wasn't replaced, and why there was oil and grease smudges all over the outside, and inside of the car. The manager then said they corrected the problems and car was ready, I arrived and the car hadn't been moved, and was in the same condition they left it in the day prior when I picked it up. I asked what exactly did they do, and the manager said they added more oil.
Due to the amount of oil spill that they left sitting, and car being driven without any oil, resulted in a significant amount of damage to my car, enough damage, I now sit here with no transportation, which is why I have all this extra time to put a warning out for consumers. In addition, I find Google and the Federal Trade Commission partly responsible, for not regulating the validity of reviews posted online.

Yeah, these guys stretched me out real deep two grand for tires rotated, and a brake job. They took turns making me gape. Expensive to say the least. They will round you out real good in here and tell you what you want to hear. I’d rather go to exhaust realtor discount tire or someplace like that. Where they don’t round you out real good. Place is a rip-off.
