As a mechanic shop, this company needs to update their claims process. Have had to hold for over 2 hours twice already. Will be billing the client for this extra time. Once contact was made, things were smooth. Not sure why they don’t provide an online option to get a claim started.

Purchased vehicle new in 2018. Dealer used Credit Union for finance, and presented the idea of the CNA warranty. Having spent 27 years in insurance, skepticism was high. After going over details and seeing coverage. Purchased contract. Now 7 years later, motor seized from failed oil pump. CNA required 3rd party confirmation. Got it. Oil pump failure. Then told shop that the motor needed to be torn down completely and customer to pay if warranty denied. We are now almost 55 days out and no action. Looks like they are hoping I go away. Call to adjusters, new one each call, call wait times 10 min or longer. Getting close to Attorney interference. At this point no recommendation for this company. Too much stalling, too many ways to try to deny claim. No attention to customer needs. Poor way to do business. Deny or accept. Dragging it out helps no one.

We own a 2017 Kia Sorento from Crowley Kia in Bristol CT, and when the salesperson (Rob, no longer employed there) along with their finance manager suggested we purchase this policy (basically without even reading a word of it) they said they'd cover everything you could possibly imagine going wrong with your warranty, that it basically was an extension of the Kia warranty after their warranty expired. Well, last year I began having trouble getting a connection of the Sirius XM Radio. Sure enough I had to shell out $100 to first have the problem diagnosed.

Without telling me the exact results they said the wiring from the "shark-like" antenna on the roof to the radio was the problem and that after supposedly contacting CNA, that they'd only cover either the antenna OR the radio, but not both. I was hesitant because if they had replaced the shark antenna, then the radio (which may have cost thousands to repair would NOT be covered. Crowley Auto said however that to be 99.999% sure they'd have to spend another 3 hours of labor to remove the dashboard.??? What. I hadn't even read the freaking Factory Wrap + Plus Care contract. So I asked CNA to mail me a copy. While reading through the contract with the +Plus Care portion under section 8 it does state that they would definitely replace the radio.

HOWEVER, since apparently the RADIO was never specifically checked, only the antenna was, I'd have to pay Crowley Kia that amount FIRST apparently before even being able to diagnose the condition of the radio??? Now, CROWLEY KIA did say that they DID NOT have any spare antennas available to even see if replacing the antenna for over $1k would have fixed the problem. Reading further through the contract CNA has NON-COVERED PARTS listed under "WHAT THIS CONTRACT OES NOT COVER". It says verbatim under NON-COVERED PARTS "Antenna mast, mirrors and steering wheel".

So is a shark antenna really an antenna mast? According to Google's answer to this same question it states as of today verbatim "No, a shark fin antenna is not an antenna mast. It's a streamlined, aerodynamic antenna housing that contains multiple antennas for various functions like AM/FM radio, cellular, GPS, and satellite radio. Antenna masts, on the other hand, are typically tall, rigid structures used to elevate antennas for better signal reception and transmission, often in military or other specialized applications.

    Here's a breakdown of why they're different:

Function: Shark fin antennas are designed to integrate multiple antenna elements into a single, visually appealing unit. Masts, while also used to elevate antennas, are primarily focused on raising the antenna for improved signal coverage.
Purpose: Shark fins are used for everyday vehicle communication and navigation. Masts are used for specialized communication needs, such as military operations.

Appearance: Shark fins have a sleek, aerodynamic shape. Masts are typically tall, vertical structures.

When I purchased my used 2019 GMC Acadia, the dealer highly recommended CNA extended warranty coverage and I agreed, costing over $3,000. This was in 2022 and 2025 was my first attempt at a claim. The coverage I chose covered the vehicles thermostat and they admit that. But GM's part is a combined thermostat and housing, so CNA refuses to cover that. They told me they have rejected similar claims with the same issue. So in essence they know the part nomenclature has changed and they still refuse to cover the repair. I’ve spoken to other mechanics and they simply say CNAs denial of the claim is ridiculous. But now I see others have had similar issues with CNA National and they should be avoided at all costs.

Well the story goes like this I had to put out 1300..00 for an oil cooler for a 2017 dodge, 1500, this is the only part they don't have on their sheet. The finance manager recommended this policy $2900 cost. Do not go to Mclarty Daniels in Spring Dale. They are the ones who sold me this truck, now in just over a year I have put off my own money around $ 3000., six coil packs and had to get new tires and brakes and now this. CON JOB

Worst experience in 26 years repairing vehicles. The whole experience was horrible. Start to finish. Yes I work at a repair facility. After inspecting the vehicle, starting a claim, waiting for a claims adjuster, hours on the phone, getting approval, repairing vehicle, returning to customer, waiting for payment, hours more on the phone they paid $38.12 less than they approved holding up the whole payment. No wonder the majority of their reviews are for 0-1 stars from customers and automotive shops. Buyer beware, save your money, find a reputable shop to properly maintain your vehicle and keep your money instead of giving it to CNA National. This customer had a $200 deductible and still ended up paying almost $800 for the repair.

Avoid CNA National Warranty at All Costs! I am extremely disappointed with CNA National Warranty Corporation. Their service is nothing short of a scam. Despite having a valid warranty, I have faced constant resistance and outright refusal to cover necessary repairs for my vehicle. Every time my car needs service, CNA National Warranty refuses to pay the full cost of repairs. They consistently try to send their own parts, which my dealership does not accept, and they refuse to pay the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for parts. This has resulted in me having to cover thousands of dollars out of pocket for repairs that should be covered under the warranty. Their customer service is abysmal. Getting a straight answer or any form of resolution is nearly impossible. They seem more interested in finding ways to deny claims rather than honoring their commitments. The lack of transparency and accountability is astounding.

To make matters worse, they push all the costs onto the consumer because we have no recourse. I can't cite ALLDATA or Mitchell because I don't have access to those pricing guides, so they just charge us whatever they like. In summary, my experience with CNA National Warranty Corporation has been a nightmare. I strongly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere. Save yourself the frustration and financial burden. Avoid CNA National Warranty at all costs!

Have attempted to contact this warranty company by phone multiple times and they put you on hold for an extended period of time. Multiple times calling them and they do not answer. 45 minutes minimum of hold time trying to get claim paid for. Unacceptable.

We purchased this warranty when we purchased our Buick Encore. We had the car 1 week and it had to go back to the dealership. The dealership wanted to replace the engine; however, CNA would not authorize the cost for an engine replacement. Instead, they would only authorize for the engine to be repaired. It still costs CNA over $5000 to repair the engine.

It took 3 months for the dealership and CNA to come to an agreement on how to fix the car. I have had nothing but trouble with the car. Did I say I have only actually driven it for 2 weeks! I feel like I have been totally screwed by both the dealership and CNA. And Customer Service Rating is Zero ... I was given a personal extension to one of the agents of CNA, which at first, I thought was a good step forward. I call the agent 3 times and left 3 requests for him to call me back he but never returned any of my calls.

It is a scam. CarMax's third party insurer, CNA, are thieves that refuse to cover anything. Do not go to CarMax, and don't ever buy from CNA. And, when you call CarMax for them to help you, they refuse.
