CarShield has have my back for the last five yrs or so, I've used CS twice in the past on my 2008 Lincoln MKZ for a water pump problem cost $2500 dollars to fix but my cost was only $100 dollars. You can't beat that kind of Service. So if you own a car, you need coverage, and CarShield is the best way to go from my own experience.

I am so disappointed with my experience with Car Shield, they tried to do everything they could to not pay for my car repairs properly. They underscored the labor cost they underscored the part cost. They didn't want to pay for proper Diagnostics. This will be my absolute last time dealing with Car Shield. I will go to the competition. And I can't wait to get on social media and tell the world how big of a scam Car Shield is. I bet you won't print this one, thank you very much. Willie G **

I saw a commercial for CarShield with LL Cool J in it and it was time for me to do something because my car was getting about three years old. So, I signed up with them. It was easy and my representative was very helpful. Making payments has been easy as well as I have it on automatic debit. I just hope when I go to use the warranty, it works well.

I canceled my CarShield extended warranty today May 5, 2026 after 10 years of wasted money and denials. They covered my vehicle a Dodge Limited Megacab 2500 one time. Official Mopar parts were not used and repairs took 6 weeks at the Dodge dealership. My own mechanic will not work with CarShield due to the nickel and dime effort it takes to get paid through a claim. Claims and time without my vehicle made it a clear choice to cancel.

I reached out to CarShield today regarding my contract. The customer service representative was very helpful and I was very satisfied. I fulfilled my contract for 2 years and so happy that I received 3 years remaining with no payments.

I casually went to their website to get a rough idea of what it would cost. They have called me repeatedly every day since! Seriously it’s excessive. My next step is to file harassment charges… THEY SUCK AND I WILL NEVER EVER USE THEM.

Updated on 04/29/2026: I will now respond to CarShield's response. They say they clearly explained the policy to me. Obviously they didn't. If they explained it clearly, I would have understood it clearly. When I asked someone to review the call to verify it, they put me on hold for a little less than 5 minutes, then claimed that they informed me at 19 minutes and 19 seconds. How did you get to 19 minutes in less than 5 minutes. So I ask for a copy of the call and they naturally refused citing personnel safety. Like, I've already heard the person over the phone so how is their safety threatened? Then they said they wouldn't release it because someone might use AI to edit the call, but that excuse doesn't fly either because you could always counter by releasing the actual call. I threatened to take legal action and force them to release the call until they finally said they would provide a "snippet" of the call. Yet they didn't even do that.
Now about their claim of being transparent. Did you know that your deductible is not the only thing you pay for repairs? They deliberately pay the shop well below the actual cost forcing you to cover the difference. They don't you that anywhere, either on the phone when explaining the policy to you, nor on the contract. Not only that, I have learned from mechanics who have responded to my social media posts that CarShield will require the cheapest parts, recycled, junkyard, etc., and will never pay full price for new parts.
This explains why they don't cover your repair fully. Not only that, but they only pay so much an hour for labor which is an outdated figure and has not been increased with the current cost of living. In short, they are only in business to make money, and I understand that, but the way they make their money is by saving themselves from fulfilling their commitment of saving you money. I did the math, and it would have cost me over $1500 to fix my car if I filed a claim with CarShield. I pay the shop directly and it cost me.
Original Review: They tell you what you want to hear about coverage, then you find out what you needed to hear when your car breaks down. They claim the sales person informed me before purchasing the coverage but when I requested an audio record of the phone call, they denied it. They don't want me checking up on them. I have requested my coverage be cancelled. What a waste of money.

After carefully reviewing your account, we confirmed that the sales call included a thorough explanation of the coverage details at the time of purchase, including the preliminary deductible for the first 3 months of coverage. While call recordings are considered internal business records and are not required to be distributed at all, we did make an exception by providing you with an email with the specific portion of the call where this information was discussed, so you could hear exactly what was communicated.
Additionally, because your breakdown occurred within the first three months of coverage, we issued a one-time, full courtesy refund as a gesture of goodwill.

Pretty much what I thought, smoke and mirrors coverage, they can and do use old parts for repairs, denies coverage unless you can document every service maintenance schedule on the car is up to date. Won't cover anything if there is no papers or receipts listing ALL scheduled services performed BY THE MANUFACTURER suggested time or mileage limits has been completed.

I called them. Asked for a price. The ad I seen said take it to any certified repairs. No mileage penalties. (My words). The lady starts asking question completely opposite to the ad I seen example: what do you use the car for....Do you take it to dealer or repair man. I said, "Please just a quote." That's when the real mouthwash was thrown at me. Trying to justify the questions asked me. And a real slippery statement. She said, "I'm trying to get you the best coverage." I was not born yesterday, especially dealer or repair man. That can be hundreds of dollars cost difference and original parts variable.... So I hung up.
She called me back. I told her to remove me from their system. In my opinion them questions were being asked to me for a price quote based on their analyst bean counting program. Not a true price setting company. Example is. You take your car to the dealer. The price ratings is one or 1st you take the car to repair man. Price rating is two. Take it where parts are swapped. Price rating is 3. Just my opinion based on her questions. In other words they advertising is fake.
The questions asked during the quote process are intended to help determine eligibility and match drivers with the most appropriate coverage options, not to mislead or complicate the experience. We understand you were looking for a quick, straightforward quote, and we appreciate that perspective.

I was told to get some kind of good warranty on my car just because it's a luxury car and it didn't come with a warranty from the small dealer I bought it from. Since I can't afford its maintenance, I decided to follow the suggestion. The guys at Audi, when I took my car in for maintenance, recommended CarShield, so I called them to set up my warranty. The first guy with whom I tried to sign up with was really pushy and not listening to what I wanted. So I was going to decide to go on another route. But somebody else called me and won me back. He made everything good, so I ended up signing with CarShield.

I gave one star because it wouldn’t let me give no stars. I had a very disappointing experience with CarShield. After paying for coverage and expecting protection, I was told my $250 deductible had changed to $1,000 when I actually needed a repair for my AC compressor. They also only agreed to pay $128.08 toward the repair, claiming it should take 1.8 hours based on a “national mechanic database,” but they could not clearly explain or justify this.
I felt the process lacked transparency and consistency. I was asked for my full service records, which I provided, but it still didn’t change their decision. The repair shop even warned me ahead of time that CarShield would not fully cover the claim. Now I’m left paying most of the repair out of pocket and without air conditioning during the Texas heat. Based on my experience, I would advise others to carefully research before choosing this company.

Coverage denied because of the old excuse of wear and tear, even though the handbook says it’s covered. I have been a customer since 2022 and they could not pay a $400 bill.

I had been with CarShield for my 2013 Chevy Sonic. It was a great car but started having a lot of problems after about 80,000 miles. CarShield usually covered most of the increasingly frequent repairs, until my car got sent to The Cornfield last month at 133k miles. I canceled but there must have been some misunderstanding, because I was charged this month. Thankfully, it was resolved quickly and expertly. I want to thank Oleather for her excellent and professional customer service today!

So far no problems with Car shield as far as speaking with an associate who breaks down the cost and explaining what my deductible and balances would be. No further information to add. Can’t complain about the coverage.

The signup process at CarShield was easy. I just called the number online, and someone helped me out with it. Making payments was easy as well. I got this warranty in case anything happens to my car, so I know that I'm covered for anything.

⭐ 1 out of 5 stars — "Approved My Vehicle Fast, Denied My Claims Faster." Contract ID: ** | Policyholder: Jose **. This is my first and last experience with CarShield. I signed up on January 26, 2026 for a Mechanical Breakdown Insurance Policy costing 7,782.00 (162.13 down, $162.12/month for 47 months). They were quick to take my money and approve my vehicle. But when I actually needed repairs on MULTIPLE parts? Every excuse to deny coverage.
Here's what exposed them from the start: When I first took my vehicle in, they didn't ask about the problem. The VERY FIRST thing they demanded was over 12 months of maintenance records from EVERY shop I've ever used. Not to help me to fish for any missing receipt, any gap, any reason to deny me. They weren't fixing my car. They were building a case against me. Covering their ass before even looking at my vehicle. I paid nearly $8,000 for peace of mind and got an interrogation instead. This isn't poor service it's a trap dressed as a warranty. It's unethical.
I'm posting this everywhere: BBB, ConsumerAffairs, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X. Potential customers need to know the truth. CarShield collects premiums effortlessly but denies claims relentlessly. Before they ever help you, they'll dig through your past to find reasons not to. I will fulfill my payment obligation under Contract MBI1119591, but I am DONE after that. No renewal. No recommendation. Just accountability.

Jeannie just gave me one of the best Customer Service experiences that I’ve ever had. I called CarShield to find out if a particular suspension part for my 2018 Nissan Murano would be covered. She checked her resources and went way above and beyond to make sure I received the correct information. She even called the dealership that will be doing the work to be sure. It's been over a month and my truck is still in the shop for a transmission. CarShield sent the shop a used transmission and it was worst than the one that came out. Now they are sending another used transmission. This could go on forever. And I'm losing money because I need my truck. And can't afford a rental that I would have to pay for and then get reimbursed. They should advertise used PARTS.

I’ve tried several times to get a price for extended warranty but they just play sales games. Just give me your price. Plain and simple please.

Signing up with CarShield was easy. The dealership had made me sign up for a 10-year warranty, and then three days later, called me and said that my warranty or everything except for the electronics was expiring, and I was like, “Hold on.” I was forced to sign a 10-year warranty with no explanation by the dealership that it was separate. It was flat out, “This is a 10-year warranty. Take it or leave it,” kind of thing. I was always under the assumption that the 10-year warranty was covering everything normally on it, and I was like, “I'll have this paid off before the quarantine even expires.” Then three days later, they were calling me and going, “No. That didn't cover that.” But with CarShield, I was comfortable talking with them. And they went when I wasn't about to go back to the dealership.

On the shop end of things CarShield is one of worse ones to work with. We have to jump through a lot of hoops (I deal with a a lot of warranty companies) and they will not pay fair parts prices.. They either make the shop sell the part cheaper then what they paid for or the customer has to pay the difference on top of their deductible. They do opt to send their own part but in all case so the parts have been very poor quality.

The parts used are of like kind and quality, and are either covered under the agreement or supported through the coverage provided. I have nothing but good things to say about CarShield. I worked with Dylan. Initially, he told me it was gonna cost me $129, and I said, “My friend who referred me said $99.” He said, "I can give you my deal or some type of discount under his name.” My car is a 2019, but I've always maintained it because I'm a single woman and I’m also a senior citizen. I would always maintain it with the proper maintenance - oil changes and everything according to the mileage. Number one, I don't want to be stranded out in nowhere. We, as senior citizens, often become victims. So all of the things that CarShield offers are in regard to assistance or preparation or to repair, which gives me the feeling that I'm comfortable, it'll be taken care of. I’m down in income, so CarShield is what I need. I'm very pleased with CarShield.
