I get extended warranties for the cars that I buy. I fix them up and try and keep them. If I get tired of them, I trade them in. I have a 2015 RAM which CarShield covers. I have them as back-up to take care of my car. The reps were really nice about it and very helpful when I signed up. They were very knowledgeable as well. I had two payment options - a more expensive one or a cheaper one, and I went with the cheaper one. I have received the hard copy of the contract but my VIN is wrong on the card. Other than that, CarShield is a good company and I'd tell others to get it.
Scott, thank you for sharing your experience with us. It’s great to hear our representatives were helpful and knowledgeable while getting your coverage set up, and that you found a payment option that worked for you. We’re also glad to know you feel confident recommending CarShield to others.
Regarding the VIN listed incorrectly on your card, that’s definitely something we’ll want to correct for you. Please give our Customer Service team a call so we can review your account and make sure everything is updated properly.

I signed up with Carshield over the phone and it seemed like it was relatively easy. Their reps have been straightforward. We've used it numerous times. My most recent claim was for my front main seal on my pickup. I had it fixed five years ago down at the Dodge dealership here in Fort Collins, and it had gone out again. I know it was a little more of a challenge to get CarShield to work going through the Dodge dealer. Because they were, in fact, Dodge dealer instead of an independent shop. But finally, they'd come through. Dodge did my turbo also and it was a challenge then. But it all finally came together and worked out. I'm glad we got CarShield.

CarShield was the first one I contacted right after I bought the car. At first, the rep said $100 and I said I would get back in touch with him. He went down to $79 and I signed up. They take it out of my account and I’ve paid two months. But I'm thinking about dropping it. I got the contract and handbook but most times, you don't have a chance to look at what comes in the mail. We're trying to trust what the person saying that’s what you bought, and I hope I don’t need it. But it's just CarShield puts my mind at ease since the Fiat is a used car.
Velvet, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re glad your coverage has given you added peace of mind with your Fiat. We understand it’s not always easy to review all the paperwork, and it’s important to feel confident in your plan. I needed a warranty on my older vehicles. I looked at a few companies and saw Carshield on TV. They had the best price at the time, so I signed up, but I would tell friends and family to make sure they understand what coverage they have because sometimes the representatives don't explain it like they need to. I still pay for my own oil changes. I've been paying for three years, and I never had to use Carshield. Where is my money going that I've been paying for three years?
I have two cars and when I called Carshield to add another car, they couldn't give me any kind of deal. That really irritated me. I was trying to give them more business. Plus, my car is getting older, and if a motor blew up, I don't have $5,000 laying around just to get a motor. One agent gave me a price for two cars. It was 90 bucks, then when I called back, the other agent said, "No, it's gonna be $140." The confusion upset me and they didn't rectify my questions or give me some of the details that I needed, but it would work itself out. Still, they're taking out payments out of my account two different times per month. I thought it would be one single payment.
Antonio, thank you for sharing your feedback and for being a longtime customer. We understand how important it is to have clear information about pricing, coverage details, and billing, especially when you have multiple vehicles on your plan.
We want you to feel confident in how your coverage works and how your payments are structured. Our team would be happy to review your plans with you, explain the coverage and billing schedule, and address any questions about adding another vehicle. Please give our Customer Service team a call at 1-800-587-4162 so we can go over everything together and make sure it’s clear and aligned with your expectations.

It's always good to have a vehicle warranty. I figured I was retired and I don't know a thing about these cars. The older ones, I did. But these new ones, I don't know. It's all electronic. CarShield was a pain in my butt always sending me letters and all this advertising and, "Join us and buy from us and we'll fix your cars." I said, "Okay. Here you go. Take my money and you better fix my car when it breaks down." I haven't had dealings with CarShield other than signing up. The rep was a bit pushy, but he's a nice fella. He explained a lot of stuff about what they cover and all kinds of electronic stuff and, "We'll fix this and we'll fix that." He explained himself good. He also gave me a bunch of offers. I kept telling him no and he kept coming down. I settled for the last one, which is 99 bucks. If nothing breaks down, it looks like I'm wasting my money. But when my car does break down, I'll make up for it.

Signing up with CarShield went well. I was with the company before, too. This particular time, the number that they started off was too much. For three times, I said it was too high. The fourth time, they got it to a number that made sense to me. If that was the number that they could have offered me in the beginning, why didn't they just start there? They could have stayed firm on that number versus starting me way up there and then letting me go down to something that made sense to me. That would be my only thing right there. I'd recommend them. I got a BMW covered and I'm on a monthly payment scheme.
Willie, we appreciate you for sharing your honest feedback and for giving us another opportunity to earn your business. We’re glad the enrollment process ultimately worked out and that you were able to find a monthly payment that made sense for you and your BMW. The cost of car repairs is out of control. I decided to get an extended warranty and chose CarShield because of their good price and their reputation. Also, it wasn't an upfront cost. It is just a month-per-month basis. I'm paying monthly, and they allowed it to be automatically deducted from my checking account. So, I don't have to send them anything. Also, they let me pick the level of warranty coverage that I opted for. As far as their customer service reps when I called and talked to them about signing up, they were friendly and helpful.
Welcome to CarShield, Randell! We’re so glad you found a plan that fits your budget and gives you the flexibility you were looking for. My factory warranty expired for my 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, and I wanted some protection. I went with CarShield. I've read some stuff about them, and I didn't see any negative reviews about them. They also offer easy cancellation. They're also month-to-month, and they're not on a contract. That was a positive thing for me, as well. I also liked that you can go to any certified mechanic and get your work done. When I signed up with them, the reps were professional. They explained to me what I was buying. They were telling me about the different plans that they offered. I also chose the credit card as my payment option. It was an easy and pleasant experience.

The lady from CarShield explained to me that the power train for my car would be covered. When I went in depth and asked her about specific things, such as my radiator and items to that degree, she explained that those things were covered as well. Those are the things that make my car operate. I wanted to make sure that if those go out, I will be getting assistance. However, I did not feel like I was able to achieve the coverage that I was looking for, so I let it die out. I let them fizzle out this month because my radiator did go bad and they did not cover it. They said they only cover the water pump. The water pump wasn't what needed to be changed. So, at that point, it was no good to me.

I have a 2018 Chevy Cruze and I was looking for coverage to get a replacement for my vehicle because the replacements are expensive these days. I don't have any money to pay the repair shop, which can be costly, so I decided to get a warranty. CarShield had a promotion in TV shows and on radio that they’re the best coverage, there's no deductible, and they will cover 100% of the cost. I signed up and I pay monthly, but I didn't get the coverage I wanted. There's no security. They always say that they're gonna fix something and they never do it, and the promotion that they have never comes true. They have bad service and I'm unhappy.

In July, 2021, I purchased a used car with low miles and in rather good condition from a reputable dealer; however, without purchasing an extended warranty. I joined Car Shield for car repair protection in case repairs were needed. After three months of owning the vehicle, I began experiencing various mechanical issues over a short period, including faulty electrical wiring and a defective engine oil sensor. In addition, a replacement radiator hose. I took the car to an established dealer of my car's make, in this case, a Chrysler dealership. Every time the dealer called Car Shield, the dealer was told these parts were not covered. Furthermore, the dealership's advice was to drop Car Shield because the experience with other customers was the same. So, I did and never referred to them again. Buyer beware.

I decided to go with CarShield after owning my vehicle for several years and starting to worry about unexpected repair costs. Like most people, I was hesitant at first because extended warranty companies often get mixed reviews online. After doing my research and comparing options, I felt CarShield offered the most reasonable coverage and flexibility for my situation.
The signup process was straightforward and transparent. The representative I spoke with explained the coverage options clearly without pushing unnecessary add-ons. I appreciated that there was no pressure to make an immediate decision, which made the experience feel more trustworthy. Pricing was also competitive compared to repair costs I had already faced in the past, so it made sense financially.
The real test came when my vehicle started having issues with the transmission system. I contacted CarShield customer service, and the process was smoother than I expected. I was guided step by step on how to take my car to a licensed repair shop. The shop communicated directly with CarShield, which saved me a lot of time and stress. Approval took a bit of patience, but it was handled professionally, and I was kept informed throughout.
What stood out to me was the peace of mind. Knowing that a major repair wouldn’t completely wreck my budget made a big difference. The coverage did what it was supposed to do, and I didn’t feel left in the dark at any point. While no service is perfect and paperwork can sometimes take time, the overall experience felt fair and reliable. Customer service was responsive whenever I had questions, and I liked that I could reach them by phone without long wait times. The repair shop also mentioned that working with CarShield was a familiar process for them, which made things easier.
Overall, CarShield has been a solid choice for me. It’s especially helpful for anyone driving an older vehicle who wants protection against high repair costs. As long as you understand your contract details and coverage limits, CarShield can provide real value and peace of mind. I would recommend it to others who are looking for an extended vehicle protection plan and want predictable expenses instead of surprise repair.

Getting the coverage from CarShield was easy. They went through what they do and what's covered and what's not, which the average person doesn't know about cars. And when they tell them, "Well, we cover this and we cover that and timing chain and all of that," the average person doesn't know all of that. They don't know where a timing chain is in a car. They don't know if a car does have a timing chain. But see, my husband was a mechanic. I know some different things. So, they named a lot of things that that cover.

It was fine signing up with CarShield. It was something I needed and I wanted to find myself a good company. But CarShield did not follow through. When I went to start my car, it wouldn't start. I called to get help from CarShield but they said I had to call a tow truck. I called a tow truck but they couldn't help me either. When I mentioned CarShield, they hung up on me. CarShield is not helping me out in the way that I need them. I'm paying them 80 some dollars a month and now I can't afford that at all. That's a lot of money for me because I don't live on much now. They take my money but let me down when I needed them. I was very disappointed in the treatment I received.

My car was getting up in mileage and although it runs well, it's a 2012. I wanted to have coverage in place in case something major happens. The gentleman who signed me up was nice but what he told me wasn’t transparent. It's not true what they tell you. They made it sound like any time you take your car to the shop, it will be repaired. All the shop has to do is submit the invoice, and CarShield will handle the rest. But that's not the way it works. My car had to go in the shop for something minor, and it wasn't covered. So, I had to come out of my pocket almost $1,000 for coils and plugs, and I had to have my car towed in. I had coverage with CarShield years ago, but they’re not worth it now.
Jonice, we understand how frustrating it can be when a repair does not meet your expectations for coverage. CarShield responded quicker than the other companies that I contacted. I also had them before when I bought an Audi Q7 Diesel SUV. The car had it on a program, and so the dealership was able to transfer it over. So, I just kept it. This time around, I've got a Hyundai Genesis, and I called CarShield to sign it up. Everything was good. The reps seemed professional and polite. I was happy with them. I've read through some of the policy because I'm gonna put out some money to do the suspension on those cars.
One of the complaints with my car is they're a little bit stiff-riding because it's a heavy car and it really holds the road at high speeds. It's designed for European or really big roads. The policy had the details in it. You could not do certain things to the engine performance. You couldn't do anything with the computers. I read through all of that and I'm satisfied that I can do a little bit of what I need to do on the suspension without violating their rules. So, I'm good to go.
