PNC Bank

Tracy of Philadelphia PA (02/11/09)
I received a notice of insufficient funds on Tuesday February 11, 2009. which stated that I had three transaction that where over the amount of funds I had in my account. When I went on line to check my account I actually only had on charge that was overdrawn and I was charged and overdrawn charge for it just sitting there waiting to be released. Then I received another overdraft charged once it was released. Since PNC has made these new changes I have had nearly 500.00 dollars in overdraft fees.

After signing up for a couple separate business checking accounts, I decided to also take part in the merchant services where I was told funds would be available the next morning. This worked fine for about 6 months, then the funds started becoming available later and later in the afternoon/evening. Also, if you deposit another PNC check, they would not clear this instrument upon presenting even though the funds immediately comes out of the account of the check being presented.

Due to their new rules, PNC bank is now clearing presented debits/checks to your account in the morning before noon, and issuing credits/deposits at night. This is a tactic to eventually catch you in the trap of having your account going into overdraft thus fees apply. With 3 separate accounts with PNC, over the last 2 months, I incurred charges around 2500, It does not help PNC also would charge you overdraft on pending tranactions. The folks at the local brank are clueless and would call the same 800 number customers are asked to call.

I have been over charged almost 1900 since Jan 2008. I thought I was doing my check book wrong. But now I see how they do it. They charge a over draft fee and saying a transaction is pending.

Lack of money when I need it. Not able too spend time with my son because of lack of funds. Borowing money from friends and family to eat and get too work. I would like a attorney to contact me please.

The NSF fees at this bank are not based in any known realm of reality. Both my ledger and available balances never went negative until NSF fees appeared. The NSF fees were applied retroactively to the smallest purchases to post, not authorized, but Zed out by the merchant and posted. While I my posted and reported authorized balances all said I was in a positive range, a traditional ledger with pen and paper would have shown a single overdraw, which I promptly more then funded. PNC, in all their wisdom, pays off largest to smallest now, a reversal of their former policy, which results an NSF fee for either a posted or authorized charge after the account enters a negative entry. It's completely ridiculous. a single 12 overdraw resulted in 3 34 charges and 8 36 charges. Customer service just passed me around. I opened a new account elsewhere today.

390 in NSF for a single overdraw under 20 dollars and immediate funding.

We were charged many ns funds fees. we were charged a total of 10 fees. we depoisted a check that same day to try to cover the purchases. we called customer service, and spoke to a manager by the name of felicia, she would not help us. her response was we need to keep track of our account. charged 36 fees for 2 purchase. would not reimburse us anything. have been customer for over 10 years. wrote negative comments about us on our account so no other manager would help us or give us credit on the fees. our end balance now is -222.60. the total of fees they charged us was 339.
