While Hampton Inn & Suites on SPID in Corpus Christi, Texas, has consistently delivered clean rooms and courteous staff, this recent experience fell short of expectations. Despite the advertised 3:00 PM check-in time, our room was not ready until 4:00 PM. No prior notice was given, leaving us to aimlessly drive around for an hour after a long trip. This lack of communication and preparedness was both unprofessional and disappointing. Guests deserve timely updates and respect for their time—especially when plans are made around published check-in policies.

Not even if it were free! We were guests for a corporate event at the Packers game. Worst hotel stay I’ve had in decades. Front desk staff is poorly groomed— in appearance and manners. We had to wait for the front desk staffer’s personal call to pause so we could request an extra blanket- she rudely spat out “we didn’t have any blankets.”
The next morning, the ceiling by the elevator was dripping water onto the carpet and down the walls— disgusting. I rushed to tell the front desk (which had at least 3 staffers chatting behind the desk). A young man who was chomping gum and sitting sideways (not facing his guests or front door) quickly informed me, with a sideways glance, that they knew all about it. Mind you, an hour later it was still pouring water OUT OF THE CEILING with no one repairing it. Nor were there wet floor or caution signs. There appeared to be mold on the wall.
The gym (once I found it) was disgusting— a TV had fallen off the wall in the past and drywall dust was piled on the floor. The rooms were dingy. The bedding was in desperate need of replacement. Even if it’s free— try your best to stay somewhere else. Oh! And it was “free” to me as a guest. But the corporate sponsor paid more than $800 a night with a minimum stay of 2 nights because it was a Packers home weekend.

This Hampton Inn is a disgusting dump! Believe all the 1 star reviews, they're all true. The only reason for my 1 star was the friendly staff at the front desk, especially Shawn and Matt. The rooms are gross, musty, smell like dirty socks and are infested with bugs. There are stains in the carpeting everywhere in the hotel. I wouldn't eat breakfast there and felt very uncomfortable in my room which was changed after the first night. I would have left after the first night, but I prepaid ($534.00) for 3 nights. The 2nd room was slightly better, it didn't smell as bad, but was very dated and had a broken thermostat. There were sewer / drain fleas in the sink and insects / bugs crawling on the carpets. This hotel is filthy and a disgrace to the Hilton brand.
MANAGEMENT: Don't bother replying to this review, asking me to contact you for additional information as you have done for other reviewers. You obviously know your hotel is a filthy, dirty dump. The entire property needs a deep cleaning and fumigation!!! You should be ashamed. Your Hampton Inn is a complete and total SHI*HOLE!!!

We stayed at the Hilton Hampton Inn on Union Drive in Lakewood, Colorado. The quality of this Hampton Inn was certainly not up to our expectations for a Hilton brand. We encountered frayed carpet, broken elevator floor tiles, a catch tray missing in the icemaker, and adjacent to that, an open floor drain, along with rust or something in the corner of the tub caulking, and a dirty round cover in the bathroom.
Beware of any signage stating that maid service is offered every 4 to 5 days; their actual schedule is every other day. Because we were expecting our room to be left alone for four days, we left several items out in the room, which we never would have done if maid service was expected. Things were left out on the bathroom counter, so when they came in and cleaned the toilet and left the lid open and flushed it, the entire bathroom was contaminated with the spray.
Although tempting items were left out, nothing was taken. There was at least one treadmill in the exercise room that was not working. The room service staff use the same elevators as the guests to move clean and dirty towels and linens around the hotel. We encountered the service staff with their bins waiting for elevators on several occasions; they did wait and allow the guests to use the elevators first. However, many other hotels have separate service elevators for these duties. The hot breakfast was mediocre.
They had oatmeal, waffles, bagels, yogurt, bread, muffins, some type of eggs, roasted potatoes, and either sausage or bacon. When they served omelettes with cheese inside, they were OK and they do offer hot sauce. The scrambled eggs made with powdered eggs were disgusting. The bacon was fine, but we didn’t like the sausage; it was very greasy.
The in-room coffee was terrible. They do offer more upscale coffee in the lobby, but we didn’t try it. Dogs are allowed on the third and fourth floors, and we did see several dogs. None of the dogs barked or were disturbing in any way; they were all very well behaved. The parking spaces in their parking lot are very close together. We ended up with a new dent in our car door because of this spacing. Overall, the hotel was clean, the linens were fresh, and the bed was comfortable. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and courteous. We did not have a safe in our room; but they don’t advertise that there is one. Just not the quality or cleanliness we expect from a Hampton Inn. We won’t be returning to this hotel, but will find another one if we need to return to the area.

I like to pay for my stay when I book my room. You cannot do that with this hotel chain at least because if you cancel, you will NOT get your money back. I accidentally booked the wrong day and the wrong location hotel. I cancelled both on the same day. I was told no refund on the first one, the second one, I was told there wouldn't be a charge. My credit card says otherwise. I have some cognitive issues and maybe my husband should have looked it over. But they didn't care that it was a mistake. I will never do business with Hilton and Hampton again, and I do travel to visit family.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel after I had eye surgery since I had a follow-up appointment the next day and we live ~100 miles away. When we first checked in and tried to go to our room, we could not even get into the building the the key card. The front desk attendant had to let us in. All was good until the next morning when we went to breakfast. When we returned to our room, our key cards would not open the door. We went to the lobby and reported the problem. They said that it was problem a battery problem with our lock. We were told that maintenance would not be on site until 7:00 am.
Maintenance arrived and started working on the problem, but they had to go and get different tools several times. I finally decided that I needed to leave for my doctor appointment at 7:45 am. My wife was going to go with me so we could go home afterwards, but she had to stay since we still had possessions in the room. When I returned, the lock was fixed and my wife was sitting in front of the hotel. We wondered what would have happened if this had occurred in the middle of the night.

Hampton by Hilton Otay Tijuana. **Disappointed by Hidden Currency Conversion Charges.** Following my conversation with the hotel, I’m attaching the information they requested. Based on what was explained to me, the hotel first converts the amount from **U.S. dollars to Mexican pesos**, and then back from **Mexican pesos to U.S. dollars**. I’m trying to understand why this process resulted in an **additional \$53 USD charge**, when the total amount quoted at the time of booking was **\$236.90 USD**. To me, this feels unfair and misleading. Prices should be fixed and transparent, not subject to unexpected conversions that inflate the final cost. I hope the hotel can clarify this and improve the booking experience for future guests.

Customer service was terrible. Young lady helping me had a real bad attitude. She was busy telling me I was lying to her. I told her I talked to a manager Friday and somehow E Booking.com has her personal phone listed. We talked I had made 2 reservations by mistake she said as soon as she would get to work she would call. If she would of checked my reservation she would if seen that I reserved the wrong day and we could of straightened it out. So I get there after a 20 hour drive from Denver Colorado and a young lady looks it up and says, "You put in the wrong days." She said to stay here will be $578.
I couldn’t get on line at your hotel because I messed up on the days. The manager working kept saying that I talked to no pneumonia. Thankfully you had a employee a ** young lady that said a manager Friday was talking about how E Booking had her cell phone number. Then your manager on duty pretty much says oh well. I will never give you business again.

So with that being done, everything will change. Service will most likely be terrible. The workers' jobs will not get done.

In June, my husband, I, and some friends were in the United Kingdom, and all the hotels we chose for our stay were Hampton by Hilton. The experience was excellent. We stayed in four different cities: Hampton and Hilton, Edinburgh, Dundee, Glasgow, and Belfast. The service, both check-in and check-out, was very efficient and quick. The rooms were ready upon our arrival and very clean. The continental breakfast was included in the price; it's a basic breakfast that wasn't bad. The only thing they should include more fruit. Overall, the service is very good, and the rooms are very clean. Since I'm a Hilton Honors member, I always try to book with them when I travel.

The staff was scarce, but the ones we found were friendly, and we appreciated their professionalism. However, I’m not sure what has happened with Hampton Inn recently. Our last two stays at different locations, including this one in Victoria, Texas, have been disappointing. Our room felt humid and had an unpleasant odor. The bathtub was peeling, and the caulking around it was coming off. The seams along the ceiling were also flaking. Even more frustrating was the breakfast: it was cold, the coffee was also cold and watered down, along with the other beverages that were offered, and the beds were uncomfortable. The elevators were also extremely small. We used to prefer Hampton Inn because the experience was always top notch, but unfortunately, this stay has changed our minds. This will likely be our last time choosing the Hampton Inn.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn, Bowie, MD from June 28 to my birthday June 30th. Unpleasant stay. Hotel not safe, dirty, staff uncaring, and someone vandalized my daughter’s car. Only one working elevator which shakes and drops, ceiling tiles in lobby has mold, not heat in the lobby, debris floating in pool, lamp cracked, dirty vent in room, dirt and dust behind night stand. I told them before booking that I had bad Allergies and afraid of animals and was told that animals were only housed on the first floor, but a big dog got on the elevator heading to the third floor with his owner, and I was cornered in the elevator when he got on. I would bypass this hotel if I were you and find another clean, and reputable hotel where people really care about your health and well-being. Thanks for giving me a bad birthday weekend experience.

This review is in particular for my stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Bolton ON Canada. I have never had a bad stay at a Hampton Inn, but this can not go unsaid. Let me say this room was reserved for me as part of a group by a local business so it did not cost me any $$, only anguish and disgust along with a sleepless night.
Initially the room seemed presentable but as the evening progressed, I found out only 1 of the 2 bedside lights would work so the room ended up being very dimly lit and dark. Ok, we can live with little things. But what followed was truly disturbing. When I went to shower, the tub faucet has one of those big handles that you turn from cold to hot till you get the right temperature for the shower. While in the shower, the handle decided to fall all the way to the hot position because it was quite lose, nearly scalding me. I normally walk with a cane so for me to get out of the scalding hot water and rectify the situation was not an easy or convenient task. Ended having to cut my shower short.
After the shower and getting ready for bed, I pull the covers back on the bed and find huge dark blob of something on the side of the bed (seen in the pictures). Not sure if it was grease, poop or blood... but upon closer inspection, see more stains on the side and onto the skirt of the bed which did look definitely like blood stains. Now very grossed out!!! Good thing there was 2 beds and I could sleep in the other bed. Now trying to sleep was yet another issue because the loose faucet in the tub could not be shut off completely and kept me awake most of the night because it was dripping. I took these matters up with the front desk in the morning and they offered me another room for my second night.
I accepted the room change and ran into the same issue with the shower faucet, but had a plan to deal with it. It also wanted to leak once shutting it off, but it did stop with some extreme force shutting the tap off... almost breaking the handle off. A little thing I could live with. However, this new room, had an issue with the USB and electrical outlets that were unusable and I had to dive in behind appliances to find an outlet I could use. For an hotel that was apparently fully renovated in 2018....
I was really disappointed with my stay and lost one night of sleep out of the 2 nights. I asked if there was any kind of compensation for the poor housekeeping, lack of maintenance and my lack of sleep. I would have been content with one nights worth of Hilton Honors points on my Hilton Honors membership but was told no. This to me is very bad business and had they compensated me in some small way I may not have written a review. There have been no calls or any communication from any managerial staff or customer service beyond moving me to another room that was less than impressive.

My apologies, Mr. Raddick. Once we receive your contact details, we’ll reach out to assist you further.

5/19-5/23. This was the second time we stayed at the Hampton Inn in Orange Beach, AL. The 2nd day my husband found a flea on his foot. We thought he must have picked it up going through the lobby and up to the room. NO. He found several more on him. They were in the room. We complained to the front desk staff, and they offered to move us to a different room, but the new room was not beach front, so we asked them to spray the room, which they did. We had to stay out of the room for 2 hours.
The next day, I had 2 more fleas on me. (we flushed the fleas down the toilet). We went to the front desk that morning before 7:00 a.m., to report that the issue was not resolved. The young man at the desk was disinterested. When I asked him to let the manager know we wanted to speak with him/her and that we wanted to room sprayed, vacuumed and the linen changed, I had to ask him if he wanted to write down my information, because he wasn't going to before I asked. Turns out he failed to notify maintenance or the manager.
When we finally spoke with the manager about the issue, she offered to move us to another room, not beach front, and did not seem at all concerned about the matter, as if it is something that happens all the time. I asked her to spray again, vacuum and change the linens. She said they would and would also check for "evidence" of the fleas. To me she was insinuating that we were lying. We declined the offer to move to a different room because we wanted to be beachfront, and we were concerned we would have the same problem even though it would have been a different room. This hotel is too expensive to have this kind of problem. To us, fleas are just as bad as bedbugs, they are both blood suckers. We definitely will not be staying at this hotel again.

This was on May 20, 2025 around 7 pm. I called Expedia and got the room cheaper. I told them I wanted a first floor room.
I get there on the 21st around 930 pm. The guy said, that Expedia didn’t put that in the comments so he didn’t have a first floor room. He was a nice man. Then I go to breakfast and Tony was working. This man is amazing!!!! He deserves a raise. He greeted everyone and the food never ran out. We needed a place to stay for 3 nights and 4 days in our hometown so we chose Hampton Inn. I gave it a 3 star because for a very odd policy reason, we have had to renew our door keys twice and have been locked out of our room because of it, twice. We were told that the key has to be regenerated by check out time. We’ve been here for 3 days and have told the front desk twice, that we were staying another night. We were also told by a call from the front desk that we needed to call everyday to tell them we were staying, even though we had a reservation.
Well, I did that this morning and was told I did NOT have to do that since we had our reservations for a 4 day stay. Very confusing and quite frankly, inconsistent service. When I went to the front desk to tell them we had been locked out for the 2nd time, they gave me the “policy” speech. Frankly I found that inconvenient and frustrating especially since we were coming and going for the whole stay, all day and our keys worked up until 3 pm on the 3rd day stay. Otherwise, the room is clean and quiet and the housekeeping staff is wonderful.

I travel frequently for business and have never experienced anything as unacceptable as my recent stay at the Hampton Inn located at 2093 Southampton Rd., Columbus, Ohio. From the moment I walked through the door, I was overwhelmed by the strong smell of ** and the appearance of a property that resembled a condemned building more than a reputable hotel.
The lobby was unattended, the hallways were filthy with crusted dirt and a sour stench, and the atmosphere felt unsafe and unprofessional. My first night included loud hallway parties at 1 AM with people yelling and drinking—completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one under the Hilton name. The phone in my room didn’t work, and I had to physically walk down to the front desk for basic amenities like towels. When I requested to change rooms, they promised it would be handled while I was out—but nothing was done. On the second night, I got just four hours of sleep due to more noise and a party in a connecting room.
Eventually, I was given another room, only to discover cockroaches in the bathroom and a bathtub with the enamel peeled off, exposing rust. The front desk staff were unprofessional, dressed in jeans with their pants hanging down, and were often nowhere to be found—frequently smoking in the back office, which you could smell at all hours. Upon checkout, they couldn’t even locate my reservation in the system. This place is in complete disarray and should be shut down or entirely overhauled. I would never recommend this location to anyone, and I’m contacting the health department to report the many violations I witnessed. Hilton should be embarrassed to have its name attached to this property.

The faucets in the sink were placed sideways (strange), and the tub had a lower step down when you went to get out of the tub then when you stepped inside. Very odd and I am older, so it threw me off. I checked it to make sure I wasn’t imagining things….it was definitely lower when you stepped out of the tub than when you stepped inside. On the second floor some of the lights in the hall were flashing, the carpet in the hall did not look clean, some of the wallpaper was falling. There was a brown gunky spot on the carpet in my room. Looked like mud, asked to be clean and was told it was chewing gum. It was not cleaned. I can't believe Hilton did not have the courtesy to say on the website that the hotel was under remodeling or offer an even lower price. Black mold is a health hazard. I am sorry for the people that work there.

We aren't understanding why, or how this is even something ANY business can do to ANY paying customer..Then, NOT to refund OUR money after REFUSING our service, because of a "POLICY" that Hilton/Hampton's Inn has in Eugene, OR, which is "they don't serve to locals" which also, was never informed about, not posted anywhere, until we already done paid online for the room, and came in to get the key etc. That was the first time ever hearing about NOT SERVING to locals, who aren't ONLY locals.
We have our own home, we have kids, we have stable income, we pay taxes, we pay rent, we do ALL the right things that a upstanding law abiding citizen does, that should deserve the respect from all people's & businesses. So after going to get the key, we're told that it's policy, to not rent to locals, and that they didn't have to give our money back, then later act like they never got the payment. Which we ended up having to escalate this problem with corp. Which they confirmed they seen the payment, & that we should see a refund in a few days. But it's been over a week and nothing. Also, we found out that a neighbor rents there every so often, & today we had a handgun concealment class there, & on our way out..
We HAPPEN to see our OTHER neighbor at the desk GETTING a room, & my wife confronted them & was asking why are we being treated like that etc. But we were told we aren't welcome there anymore & to leave. And just so you know, just before all this, she became part of Hiltons vip honors, and paid for 4 night vacation to Vegas etc. in a bundle package. There's a lot more to say, but I thought people should know about my experience. I also seen on their desk, say something about always making it right etc... But obviously that's not a real thing. I give this experience a big "0" for Hilton/Hampton's Inn. I haven't even got my refund yet, so now I'm forced to talk to my parents' attorney.
