I have been a TriEagle customer for 7 years. Their price per kilowatts is like everybody else. I was unaware when I renew contract that they now charge a power transfer fee of $30 plus a late fee of $30. I am considering moving. Their true .152 per kilowatt is .175 per kilowatt.

Both my parents died. The house and bank accounts were in probate. So, the bills stopped being paid automatically as their accounts were frozen. TriEagle electricity supplier threatened to turn off the house energy, and when contacted refused to talk to the executor (son) because he was not the client. TriEagle offshores their customer service center, and uses phone trees and AI to keep customers from talking to humans in the USA to save $$$$. They have a database with scripts that foreign nationals read to you based upon your issue, problem, or complaint. We need to require energy companies to leave house utilities on, especially during winter and summer, when a lack of energy can cause pipes to freeze, or lack of AC to cook pets, spoil food, etc. Why do we allow important infrastructure corporations to offshore their customer service and hide behind Limited Liability? We need better laws in TX.

I had Trieagle as my electricity provider for nearly a year. In the beginning, the prices were consistent with what my usage was. Towards the end of my using this company, my electricity bills, which were typically $150/month turned into $200+/month. After a couple of bills that were this high, I finally got sick of it and switched providers, now only spending $140/month at maximum with, again, the same usage as I had with Trieagle. It was extremely aggravating to cancel my contract as customer service continued to push me to keep my contract, even when I had asked for them to stop calling me. I never dealt with a cancellation fee as my new provider bought it out (thank goodness!). All in all, I suggest that you really compare different providers and their plans before pulling the trigger and going with Trieagle. Sometimes, the grass really is greener elsewhere.

I called Trieagle while shopping for electric service in Pflugerville, Texas. I liked their rates and tried to sign up. I was told that my information didn't come up in the system, so I had to send a copy of my Texas ID and social security card. I wasn't told, for instance, if I had to send both sides of each card - and didn't. I was told that in two business days, plus Saturday and Sunday, I would "receive an answer", but not an answer to what. The CSR, who was the 3rd I had gotten in as many calls and came the closest to able to speak English, simply kept repeating it. Answer to they verified me, answer to I could get electric service?
Since I've never run into unable to find me in the system when applying for anything, I also tried, twice, to apply for service online. Both times it said "a problem at our end" prevented submitting it and I must call customer service. When I called customer service Monday morning, I learned they couldn't FIND the application I submitted with a CSR on Friday OR the one I tried to submit online, specifically because it never got submitted in the first place. I was told they got the same error when they tried to submit anyone's applications and not only mine.
In other words, their own technology doesn't work, and it failed to work too long and too broadly for the company itself to be any good. If it were temporary, they should have said up front that their system was down and it should have been fixed by the time I called back on Monday. I was also told I would have to submit my social security card and driver's license over again to a different address to qualify for the senior citizen waiver of the security deposit, after my "answer" came back for another two days. The landlord required me to have the service scheduled to turn on and provide my account number before I could sign the lease at the start of my rental term, just 1 week after I first applied for service.
I wrote complaining to the president and CEO of Vistra Corp, which owns TriEagle, telling him why I was going with a different company. Usually such a letter atleast reaches the executive office. He never even got my letter. A customer service person pretending to work in his office called me a week after I actually moved into my new place to argue with me. That was the section of the customer service office that claims to be in the president's office.
I ended up with Green Mountain Energy, and the signup was simple and straightforward. I had to submit my ID just once, only my driver's license, to prove my age, to get the senior citizen waiver of my security deposit, and I was specifically told to submit both sides. My application was approved and I had my account number, which is what the landlord required, and I only had to wait on the fate of my security deposit.
It should NEVER take more than one day to get the electricity turned on, except pending the payment of a security deposit. The customer service people at Trieagle were in an overseas call center, their English was poor, their system didn't work for multiple days, and they were unprofessional. I did not end up signing up for service with this company and so can't submit a bill. Don't even think anyone would ever end up actually signing up with this company.

Very helpful! Went through various plans with me. Compared different rates and terms to satisfy my usage. I mentioned other competitors that were offering different rates, but there was hidden fees. Trieagle offered me a credit on my next bill!

Today I chatted online to get a renewal rate after my 3 year contract ended. It was easy to see my rate and they explained everything well. Broke the cost for me and I received a fair competitive rate. There’s a reason I renewed after 3 years; they have great customer service!

I have 3 accounts with TriEagle, and have used them for years. Understanding their rates is simple, no hidden fees like most other electric companies, renewals are easy and only take a matter of a couple minutes, and I've always been very pleased with their customer service. Dealing with other utility providers, I've encountered so many customer service agents that tell you completely different things each time you talk to them - as if the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. This has never been a problem with Trieagle. Their customer service agents are helpful but more importantly, they are proficient at their jobs and know the rates/protocols of the company they work for. If only cell phone providers were the same... :-)

I have been with TriEagle for the better part of a decade and have always been very impressed with the service they have provided. Never any unexpected surprises. Billing has been just as stated. During a period I forgot to renew after quite a few reminders from them, they did not price gouge me and billed me at the then current monthly rate. Also online chat support is top notch. Yessica was extremely helpful and found the right plan for me to renew on.

Contacted TriEagle to provide service to my new condo in Houston, TX. I spoke with a representative on Thursday afternoon and the power was supposed to be activated the next day (Friday). The same day I had contractors resurface the hardwood flooring in my new condo ($4000) and the floors were supposed to dry on Friday and through the weekend and we were going to move in on Monday. Saturday morning when I opened the door and reached in to turn a light on to check and make sure that the heat was on I noticed that there was NO power to the condo. I called TriEagle at 830am, it turns out that they had made a mistake on the condo # and subsequently there was no order placed to turn the power on.
When I explained the situation to the representative all I was told was that they were sorry for the mistake, I asked to speak with a manager and was told that there was nobody available to speak to me and that they would have someone call me back as soon as they could. They told me that there was nothing that could be done and that they wouldn't be able to turn the power on until Monday, possibly Tuesday. 6 hours later that day, still no call back from TriEagle so I called again and was again told that there was no manager available to speak with me and nothing they could do.
I hung up and called TXU Energy, spoke with a rep and had power turned on to the condo within 2 hrs. I never did get a call back from TriEagle. ABSOLUTE PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! There are a lot of energy providers to choose from, I have no idea how a company like this is able to survive in this market with that level of customer service.

I was trying to save money by changing over to TriWagle. However, their sales group does apparently not talk to the billing/accounting department or anyone else for that matter. I changed over from Gexa trying to save money and I was sold on savings so I changed. However, this change with discounts did not get communicated to other departments and I ended up spending around $2000 for 1 (one) month. This is absolutely the worst energy company I have ever worked with. When I called back to cancel it was the 33rd day not the 30th day so they charged me a $350 cancellation fee. On top of that they cut my power, not per request, and are currently trying to charge me another $350 for a 2nd cancellation fee as I had to have them turn the power back on because my wife and I work from home. So all and all this is by far the WORST energy provider I have ever worked with.
I would stay away from them at all costs. I am now going to have to pay additional, unless they are reasonable as I was threatened with my credit being hurt by not paying the 2nd early termination fee and it has been less than 60 days. Maybe this company is better to others but my gosh stay away. I have spent more than $2,000 from 8/4 to 9/18 in energy....absolutely the worst.

The ONLY problem I have with TriEagle Energy is their inability to Mail me my monthly account statements. I do NOT pay my bills online!! I am 68 years old and I’m NOT real tech savvy, plus I have a very poor internet server and believe me I’ve tried them all. Y’all cut my power off once for non-payment of my accounts but I NEVER RECEIVED MY STATEMENTS in the mail? So now I just send a random amount of money each month so my power won’t be cut off. If y’all could fix my billing problem I would give TriEagle Energy a five star rating, but as of now, I’ll have to just give a 1 1/2 - 2 stars. But if a supervisor would like to call me at the above number I’d be tickled to death to talk to someone about it. Thanks.

Last year my rate went from .07 to .11. I called in February and you said I renewed in Dec. I talked to a Supervisor and told him, I didn't renew that myself. He said it was renewed by a third party and I didn't think so. He said that all are taped and I said that I wanted it sent to me or played to me because I didn't think I agreed to such an increase. He never followed through and I have almost frozen trying to not use electricity. I have been with this company many years, but I will not be renewing with you again. I was treated so badly by this company and I will never recommend your co again..I have done that several times over the years, but never again.

Updated on 10/07/2020: I have been with Trieagle Energy for several years. I accepted a plan in which I would pay a fixed rate of $188.83 for 12 months, I agreed to the plan and each month my bill was $188.83, until the bill I received for 09/02/2020 until 10/02/2020 of $521.62. I was shocked. I called Trieagle and asked why were I charged $521.62, when the agreement was I would received a bill for $188.83 per month for 12 months. The customer service member told me I owed for higher kilowatts. I told him that was not the agreement and I would like a copy of my agreement but he only email me copies of my bills.
Original Review: I had been with Trieagle for a few years with no problems, but earlier this year I was offered a plan in which I would pay a set amount every month ( $188.83). I was paying this amount until I received this months bill which stated my payment amount would be $521.62. I almost fell to the floor, not only did Trieagle not lived up to their agreement, but expect me to pay $512.62, which I do not have. They did not live up to their agreement. And I am very disappointed.

I am changing electrical providers after being a TriEagle loyal customer for several years. I spoke with one of your customer service reps to discuss pricing for this coming year, and the person didn't seem to have the time for any questions either take it or leave it attitude. We may be in trying times, BUT I still have the say as to how I will, and where I spend my money. That being said I am now signed with a new provider for the coming year at a lower rate you are now offering. Good luck with your customer service reps. Richard
