I have had a critical illness policy since 2012, which I pay on monthly. I developed a rare cancer and sent in a blood panel and initial diagnosis paperwork. I received my expected check quickly. I called customer service several times about this claim and everyone I spoke with was polite and knowledgeable. Great outcome for me.

I have a disability insurance policy with them. They have given me the runaround and re-requested doctor statements at least four times. They come up with invalid reasons to not pay benefits! I’ve already filed a complaint with the state insurance commission and plan to request an investigation into the company.

In a nutshell they delay paying claims. They ask for a attending physician statement from your doctor get it and then have you wait and wait for no reason whatsoever. Then No one can give you a concise answer as to what the status is. All you get is apologized to. Horrible claims experience. Truly a experience of pay a premium but if you need them 100 excuses on how to decline the claim.

I filed a continuation of claim on my cancer policy on 1/18, 10 days later and claims still have even been reviewed or opened. When I called to ask what the hold up is, I was told it could take MONTHS before anyone even looks at the claims. I would have been better off saving the $50 a month I pay through my employer and gone to AFLAC. ALLSTATE YOU SUCK.

I switched to Allstate a few years ago. I had State Farm for a long time but switched to save money. The service I get from my agent is the best. They have a great app that has all my insurance information handy as needed. If I send them a message during a business day they get right back to me. If I call on a weekend sometimes they get back to me but I have the option to talk with a rep from the 800 number anytime. This is why I gave them a 5.

My wife and I had Life Insurance through CHI Memorial and she was let go because the census was low because of COVID-19. We went through Allstate Life Insurance and they put us through the mill and we jumped through every hoop just to get a letter of denial because of "preexisting condition".

Once again they came up with a reason not to pay me for my accident. I did a claim on December 26, 2019. Turned in all my paperwork they asked for and they denied me. All they do is take your Premium money every month but doesn't want to give you any money back when your in need for it. This Company is not any good. I hope people read these Reviews and take them serious before they decide on this company. Too many people are saying the same thing about this company.

Don't expect Allstate to cover your medical bills like their policy says they will. I opened a claim 3 months after I got out of the hospital to help cover my deductibles and the money they paid went to bills that were already paid by my health provider. I opened the claim and got nothing. Buyer beware.

Do not do business with this company regarding life insurance, I filled up an application and I was waiting for approval after all test were completed. I was waiting for the required visit or call from the agent to provide approval or at least to get acknowledgment of the policy. I realized they were taking money from my account after multiple month, when I asked for my money back they denied protecting themselves behind a law which protect the insurance companies in Florida.
The agent said he met with me which is not true, they only care about the money. If they take $2000 dollars now how I can trust them giving me $100,000.00 in 15 years. I even contacted the state and they agreed with me; however as the Florida law protect the insurance company not the customer, they can not do anything about. They even send a letter to the state to review the law and make the amendment, of course I doubt it that is going to happens.

Please don't buy into disability/accident policies. I had this policy for 12 years. They do anything to avoid paying you and giving you the runaround. If you have legitimate claim and they think what they think how long you should be out instead of the member's recovery.

I went and look at my claiming online. It told me in the message box my claim went from received to approved by the agent. Said I was denied. That don’t make sense. I going to drop them soon as I return back to work.

Do not buy into any policies from this company!!! I've had this policy for the last 4 years. I had an agent sell me a policy at my job. It has been coming out of my check for the last four years. They get paid before I do. I recently had surgery and I've been off of work for a month and I submitted a claim. They were supposed to pay me one amount and sent to check out for $990 short of what the check should be.
They claim because the policy since the day I set it up was never paid in full. Why in the world would they not contact me to let me know that was happening. They tell me that because it's through my employer. They notify my employer and that I have to request to make sure that my policy is paid up today. Why in the world would I request a policy audit when I know they've been getting paid right for my check. This company is terrible. The representatives have no cool. They don't care because you know what they're still making a check. I looked them up after I was having issues with them and noticed that they're having a lot of class action lawsuits. I'm trying to figure out how to set one up. Company should not be allowed to treat people this way.

I have no problem with my bill. I think that the price that I pay every month for a downpayment is excellent. The overall bill is good as far as what I would expect to pay for a divorced person with one car who is renting. I could not ask for a better insurance company.

Let me first start by saying theee worst company EVER. My mom passed recently. They're taking FOREVER to process the claim. I'm going back and forth with them about taking ownership of a policy she had on me for over 15 yrs, of course they're giving me the runaround. I can never reach an agent nor have one ever contacted me in regards to the matter. Every time I call they always giving me wrongful information. Honestly if my mom haven't invested sooo much into it I wouldn't bother myself with it. It's unfortunate I have to deal with this considering I just lost a loved one.

My father, 96 years old, died last week during the 30 day grace period after the annual premium was due. He had the same policy and the premium was paid by his former company, Sears, for 40 years until this month. Now Allstate is not replying to simple claim requests from my father’s trust representative. Any death during the grace period is historically paid less the premium amount due that month. That is not happening. A very sad ending to my father’s legacy and an embarrassment to Allstate. 40 years!

My claim was submitted in June 2018 it’s now November 2018 and my claim has not been paid for accident or short term disability with Allstate. This company goes through great efforts to find causes to not pay your claim. This is the worst insurance company I’ve ever encountered. The staff is inefficient, rude and the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. I really feel a compliance agency needs to get involve and investigate Allstate. I would not recommend this company for any services.

I went through Allstate to get STD since my company offered payroll deduction with them. I filed a claim on 7/11/18 knowing my planned surgery was 7/23/18. It is now September and I have not received my claim. No associate or manager has been helpful or nice. They report I am missing information from my medical record but will not reveal to me what that information is so I can help get it. I asked what I can do to help and the manager told me "you just need to wait, lady!" She apologized for me not knowing how long claims take and that they take 10-15days...ummm I just said it had been 8 weeks! My next step is to contact the CT board of insurance and file a complaint so they HAVE to reveal to me the info they are "waiting" on.
They have a portal online to check the status of your claim. Three times it was updated saying information was received only to be deleted the next day stating pending additional information. Wish I had taken screenshots from the beginning for evidence but never did I think I would be taken for a fool. Especially by a company my employer recommended. My surgery was straightforward. Should be an easy approval. Yet here I am back to work, with no back pay and bills piling up. Thanks Allstate. I will be sure to tell everyone I know to never do business with you and cancel my policy as soon as this is all over.

I have paid my premiums for twelve plus years and never filed a claim. I was diagnosed with bladder cancer, have the Dr. statement, pathology report etc. Now I'm being told I have to submit an itemized bill before they will initiate my claim. I have provided Allstate with a signed release form allowing them access to my medical records.

We have whole life policy with Allstate and opened the recent letter, just like all the other letters from them over the last two decades to find that… After paying 140 dollars every month for over 20 years ALLLSTATE INCREDIBLY DISCONTINUED OUR DIRECT TRANSFER PAYMENT AND CANCELED OUR POLICY. I TURN 50 THIS YEAR. After looking at other incidents of these odd technicalities when people pass 50 years of age on the Internet I decided to write this review. They say they upped the payment by 7 dollars and simultaneously stopped our automatic payment several months ago. Our original contract was clear that the payment would never go up. So we are left to wonder if this is some sort of systematic pruning of costly account? Is this legal. We are reviewing options and hope to see some accountability. We will see if we are "IN GOOD HANDS".

I feel it is a robbery, I have paid for this hospital benefit for a long time every month. I was in the hospital for little less than 24 and this insurance does not help me at all, therefore I am left with the debt of my deductible which is more than 1,000.00 and they never call me or send me any letter to letting me know my status of the claim until I call 20 days later, then they explain to me that I’m not cover.

I filed the same paperwork for both my kids. They approved one and denied the other. I kept calling back for 3 weeks straight trying to get it fixed and every rep/supervisor I spoke with another supervisor they told me that the examiner who looked at it shouldn't have paid out for it. Allstate employees don't care about anything but making sure they get paycheck. This whole thing has stresses me out completely.

I applied for STD through company American Heritage Insurance which works with Allstate. I recently filed a claim for STD and was denied for pre existing condition. Which the agent Richard ** don't explain that it was an 6 mos limitations from the day that policy goes into effect or that you have to have policy 6 mos prior to your condition and then there is still is guarantee they will even honor your claim. I just recent found out about this condition Feb 2018 and had to have a major operation but he states you can't be denial for pre existing condition but their policy states different. And they are so full of it when ask to cancel my policy. The consumer services rep just kept talking like I was ask her question just stating that my claim was denied. If I had a better understanding I would shopped around for others. I have been off work without pay and was forward to my STD to help. Now bills are behind and they don't care.

My husband has the Allstate critical illness insurance though his work. In Aug and Sept, he had two heart attacks in two weeks. It's supposed to be covered 100%. We filled out all the forms, had the doc fill in and sign his form, sent in all the medical information from the hospital, for both incidents. It's still being denied. Seems they want the words "heart attack" not "Acute non-STEMI". Our health insurance is paying most of the hospital bills. What's Allstate's problem? Approximately $35 comes out of his check every two weeks for 5 years now. What a waste of money. I want our money back. It was at the time we were filing a claim, Allstate advertised on tv if you weren't satisfied with your claim they would refund your money. When we asked about that, they didn't know what we were talking about.

I got an Allstate Hospital policy through my ex-employer. I left my employ and it took 3 months to receive an updated invoice so I can pay my policy. Come to find out my rates went up more than 3x. So I am canceling my policy. I really don't need it. In addition, it took me almost a year to get the agent that signed me up to send my policies to me. No thanks. Allstate is horrible. I have emailed and called for months.

Because of my husband's medical issues, our options are really limited. We had purchased a universal life insurance policy due to its cash value vs. a term life policy, which has no cash value, but are really starting to question this decision, as the premiums keep going up, and the policy value keeps declining. We were also hoping we could bundle our home and life insurance policies with this same company, but they don't insure a lot of homes in our area -- even the "median value" ones due to the high cost of housing here. We have inquired about long term care insurance; that was over a month ago. Haven't heard back from anyone from there since.

I have tried to be patient with this company. I have had them since the beginning of 2017, and each time that they have processed a claim for me, the experience has been less than unsatisfactory. I have an accident policy with them, and it seems as if I have to be bleeding to death or beheaded in order to have an accident. It has taken them almost 3 weeks to deny a claim that was clearly an accident. Now here I am with my second accident claim from a sprained wrist, and 5 days after submitting all required info, the claim is still waiting for an adjuster to review it. I have had other accident policies in the past and this company has by far provided the absolute worst service ever. After the completion of this claim, I will be looking to return to my previous company.

I've been with Allstate for over 30 years. I am a loyal customer, but I am not satisfied with the options provided. The overall cost of my whole life policy is reasonable, and I don't have to worry over rising premiums since there is no set term to expire.
