I felt like I was being pushed for a sale right from the beginning. I received several calls from the salesperson to try to get my business. I asked if the company serviced the area I lived in and where my items would be stored for the next day delivery. The company serviced my area but didn’t have a warehouse in the area I lived in. From what I understand, the company drove my items all the way to the parent company in West Palm Beach. I would have used someone local had I known this. I was told my items would be delivered the next day by the salesman and this was not true. Also, tried to deliver my items 2 days later with a late arrival.

The customer service and sales team need work. The actual movers were amazing. I had a few broken items but they worked so hard it didn’t matter to me. I recommend the movers but do your research before hiring this company. I was not happy with the sales team and customer service team at all. I feel the movers are overworked. I later found out I was charged a fee I thought was company surcharge and it was gas surcharge. Misrepresented. I spent a lot of money to move 200 miles away. I don’t like to give bad reviews but do your research before hiring this company and read everything.

My initial contact with the Safebound employees was courteous and professional. I received a reasonable estimate based on my description and photos of the household goods. I then paid a 1/3 deposit via credit card. The moving crew arrived and the estimate was adjusted upward slightly. The crew was professional and did a great job wrapping up everything. I paid another 1/3 via Venmo. Not my choice for payment but the sub-contractor would not accept a credit card. Everything went south when it came time to deliver. A week later I was contacted by the delivery driver who planned to deliver the next day between 1-5 pm. He finally arrived at 8:30 pm. The apartment building would not allow the delivery at that late hour. The driver informed me that returning the next day would cost an additional $500.

The driver arrived at 9 am the next morning and demanded an additional $500, above the already agreed upon $500, for an "extended carry fee". Basically, he was demanded more money to unload the truck and "carry" the goods inside. I refused to pay any more than the agreed amount. The driver did not accept Venmo or credit cards but instead insisted on cash, Zelle, or cash app. He did unload and was polite and courteous. I initially contracted with what I thought was a professional moving company but was left to deal independently with 2nd party sub-contractors who tried aggressively to inflate the final cost. The multiple payment methods required was a ridiculous complication. The aggressive cost inflation attempts were very uncomfortable. It was not a pleasant experience, and I would not recommend or use this company again. There are better options.

After a positive interaction with Safebound Moving & Storage, Allan increased their star rating on April 8, 2026.

    Updated review: April 8, 2026

SafeBound reached out and made it right.

    Original Review: April 7, 2026

I wrote a review when they picked up my stuff, the guy said if I gave him a 5 star he wouldn’t charge me extra to wrap my stuff. Little did I know. I wrote the review, bought their lunches, drinks, snacks, made sure they were good the entire time. They took all day, ok, but there were 4 of them granted only 2 of them actually loaded anything up, “the boss” was in the truck the entire time. Came out once to grab food, and then at the very end when he had me sign everything. All the paperwork was was completely disorganized, not legible at all, but, there were a lot of good reviews, so what’s the worst that could happen…

1 week later they delivered my stuff, and one by one things started coming off the truck smashed, scratched, broken, or not even on the truck. 72” Broyhill electric fireplace with TV stand smashed to bits, they took off the base and stood it on its side, and it folded like an accordion, artwork scratched, crystal wine glasses broken, every leg on all my end tables were broken, the rocker part of my kids' rocking chair, they tried taking it apart maybe, broken where it connects. Bend the legs off the bottom of my son’s dresser, the bolts were bent and the wood was all marred.

The list goes on and on, a total of 60 plus items damaged. That is not including the items that are just missing, I submitted the claim, and they came back with a refund of 93 dollars… I don’t care what you do, use them, don’t use them, they may be good next time. Idk, but this place is not a place I will ever use again, nor will l let any of my friends or family use them. The fact that they offered me 93 dollars after all that is a joke. It If I could rate less than 1 I would.

Don't be fooled by the nice customer service representatives. I paid for Safebound to move me and without telling me they sent another moving company. The Forman of that company was trying to upsell me throughout the entire moving day making it way more stressful than it needed ro be. He kept telling me there may not be enough room in the truck over and over. I moved from Colorado to Florida.

After the movers left and a week of not hearing from anyone I called safebound and they said it would be another 7-10 days and gave me a bs story of moving my stuff onto another truck. The next day the moving company they hired called and said he would be here the following day on Easter Sunday. He said they dont observe holidays. When i was thinking about storage, safebound told me last minute that my things would not be in their storage facility like they said before I paid my deposit. It would be in someone else's facility. Do they do any of their own moving and storage or are they just middlemen salespeople? I had high hopes for safebound. They really know how to sell. Don't be fooled. You have no idea who will show up to move you. That's not good when you pay over $16k! Services

We contracted Safebound Moving and Storage for a 524 mile move. We were **told** everything should be there in 1-5 days but it **could** take up to 10. When I was emailed the "Bill of Lading" I was pressured to sign it quickly as the person was waiting on the phone and was "leaving" shortly. I should have read the "fine" print where it says they have up to 30 "Business" days to deliver the goods, and their promises mean nothing. It turns out from the pickup, which happened with a company called Knights Moving and Storage, all the items were taken to an "undisclosed" warehouse, where they sat. Attempts to get an estimated delivery date over the next few weeks were answered with "we don't have an update" to "we don't have any drivers" to "everything should be there early next week" which then did not happen.

Everything was picked up on Jan 30th, and was not delivered until Feb 26th. When it WAS delivered, there were a number of "broken" tubs and containers as they had been stacked inappropriately. One was so smashed they had tossed all the items into a cardboard box. After I went to social media with some negative reviews, I received a call offering $250 for the "poor experience" that did not represent their normal service. Then they sent over an agreement - to get the $250, I had to agree to basically remove ALL negative posts and not put up any more. I said forget it - it was an entire page that said they could sue us if we posted ANY negative information about the company. I said forget it - they can keep the $250 and I'm here to warn anyone, Do NOT use this company.

I am rating their customer service as a one. (I would rate the actual moving people as a 4). I was referred to them to move a grandfather clock locally. The 'estimator' CHRIS quoted $999 which included 3 hours of time for THREE people, PLUS charges for one hour of travel, a clock technician charge, and an 'operational charge.' When I asked if this was a flat rate, they said no, it was an hourly rate based on 3 hour minimum. I had no idea what was involved. I had to rely on their estimate that it would take THREE people. Clearly that was an upsell to inflate the price. But, of course I didn't know that. I was floored by the estimate so in order to be sure that it wouldn't end up costing more, I asked for a flat rate and was offered a flat $1000. The original contract had the specifics, but the document I signed only stated that a clock was being moved, without detail.

When the truck showed up, there were only TWO people. Had the original quote stated two people, the cost would have been about $240 less and had I negotiated a flat rate, it would have been based on that. I emailed the original estimator person who kicked it 'upstairs.' A person (ZACK, I think) called me and was extremely rude, would not let me explain why I thought the fee was unfair, but he continued to talk over me even while I asked him to stop and listen. He continually told me I signed a contract. I maintained that the estimate and the agreed amount was based on more workers than were sent by the company; but he wouldn't listen. Even the driver could hear this guy speaking loudly and not stopping when I asked him to listen.

This is poor customer service. Making a small consideration in the price would have been in order or a polite person who validated my concern. But, they had my clock on the truck and wouldn't bring it in until I paid the full amount. So, I did. I sent a follow up email and received even a ruder reply. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I feel sorry for their actual moving staff. They were polite, nice, and handled my clock carefully. However, although the person who was the clock tech handled the moving parts well and reinstalled them, I had to ask her to set the time and then after she left, it wasn't keeping time. I realized that she hadn't started the pendulum. Once that was done, it worked perfectly. Since there was a separate fee for a clock tech, wouldn't you think they would know to start the clock??

    Reviewed Nov. 12, 2025

If I could give Safebound zero stars, I would. On pickup day, the movers arrived over an hour late with no notice. I only found out what was going on after I called them myself. Then, it took three full weeks for my belongings to arrive even though I had already moved into my new place across the country. What I didn’t realize (and what the sales rep conveniently failed to explain) is that the “delivery date” you provide is merely the earliest possible delivery date, not an actual commitment.

The fine print gives them up to 30 business days to deliver. I signed everything while still on the phone with the salesperson, who never mentioned this - something that feels pretty important to call out. Yes, I made two rookie mistakes: trusting a salesperson and not scrutinizing the fine print. But the customer service experience that followed was beyond unacceptable.

When I called for updates (because I was living in an empty apartment without furniture, kitchen supplies, etc.) the staff acted annoyed that I was even calling. They lied repeatedly about calling me back (they never did) and were cryptic and evasive about where my belongings were. At one point, I genuinely wondered if they even knew where my stuff was. I’ve never been spoken to more condescendingly than by their representative, Dawn. She told me it was my fault for not reading the fine print, scolded me for being upset, and then, unbelievably, said it wasn’t Safebound’s fault that I don’t know how moving companies operate.

Apparently, I was supposed to know that my things would be loaded and unloaded across multiple trucks and stored who knows where before reaching me. The only person who seemed remotely helpful, Junior, once told me my things were being loaded in NY - even though I moved from NE to NC. So yes, forgive me for being confused. The final insult: THEY LOST SOME OF MY BELONGINGS.

After everything, I called again. Zach promised to open a case and reassured me that Safebound had a high retrieval rate (I think he said up to 80 or 90% even). He told me to call back in a week if I hadn’t heard anything from him. Of course, he never called. When I followed up, Dawn once again answered and told me to file a claim. I asked if that meant financial compensation if they couldn’t find my items. Of course not — because I didn’t buy extra insurance and packed my own boxes. So now, I’m missing irreplaceable personal items — art, photographs, handwritten notes from a trip to Greece — and I HAVE ZERO FAITH THAT SAFEBOUND WILL EVER FIND THEM.

I fully acknowledge that I made mistakes and didn’t do my research, but Safebound has taken no accountability for their part whatsoever. Every interaction I’ve had with their team has been rude, evasive, dismissive, condescending, or disingenuous. They made me feel unreasonable for being worried about my own property. And when they lost my things, they didn’t even offer an apology. BEWARE: Safebound operates as if nothing you own has value or sentiment. They don’t care about your experience, your belongings, or the outcome — only your money.

Bottom line: Safebound Moving & Storage overcharged me, subcontracted my move without telling me, failed to deliver promised services, and has ignored repeated requests for resolution for over a month. I hired them for an interstate move quoted at $2,900 for a two-bedroom home. Prior to the move, I called to say I had removed significant inventory (second bedroom, office, and kitchen contents), but this wasn’t communicated to the pickup team. Despite this, I was charged an extra $750 for “increased cubic feet” due to added boxes, with no updated calculation or explanation.

I received only 20 minutes delivery notice (instead of 24 hours), my move was subcontracted twice, the delivery crew failed to reassemble my bed frame, and I never got the promised follow-up call. The driver cited a broken phone for lack of updates. I first raised concerns on July 3 and followed up six more times. On July 11, a representative acknowledged mistakes and promised compensation, then went on leave without handing off my case. I’ve also requested the required arbitration provider details (July 29, Aug 5, Aug 12), which they have refused to provide. As of today, no resolution or refund has been offered.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY – Bait and Switch, Poor Communication, and Zero Accountability. I booked my move with Safebound after they came to our home, looked at our three-floor, 2400 sq ft house, and gave us a quote. I was told our belongings would easily fit within the space they quoted. When I later tried to update the inventory list, I was assured that the additional items wouldn’t change the price much.

Fast forward to three days before our move—I still hadn’t heard from anyone regarding final inventory or when to expect the movers. When I finally got on the phone with the moving manager, he reviewed the same inventory the original rep saw and was shocked at how little space we were quoted. He actually seemed nervous our stuff wouldn’t even fit on the truck. Then came the bombshell: the price of our move was doubled.

Of course I questioned it, but by that point, they already had thousands of dollars from me and I had no choice but to move forward. When the truck showed up, it was just two guys—clearly unhappy about the workload—and they immediately said they didn’t have enough space or manpower. They arrived at 8:00 AM and left at 12:30 AM. That’s a 16-hour move. Completely unacceptable. Then came another surprise: over $500 in packing fees, even though everything was already boxed. All they did was disassemble some furniture, which I was told was included in the original price.

I’ve now emailed Safebound three times and called three times, and every time I’m told someone will get in touch. It’s been a month and I’ve heard nothing. Crickets. The irony? In the beginning, they kept talking about how one bad review costs them thousands of dollars and how proud they are of their customer service. I tried to resolve this privately, but they clearly had no intention of making it right. So, here it is: one bad review that will hopefully cost them thousands—just like they warned me. Avoid Safebound at all costs. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

My experience with Safebound was disappointing and stressful from start to finish. We hired them for a cross-country move with an estimated delivery time of 7-10 days, yet our belongings arrived a staggering 36 days later. Despite being assured by Patric at Safebound that the move would be managed exclusively by their own team, the job was handed off to a local third-party company. This was a direct contradiction to what was promised — that Safebound employees would handle our belongings from pickup to delivery. Instead, on moving day, a completely different company showed up to pack and load our items, which was both unexpected and unsettling.

Once they collected the initial payment, communication from Safebound dropped off entirely. I found myself in the frustrating position of having to chase both Safebound and the subcontracted company for updates. Safebound offered no accountability and minimal support, leaving us to deal with the subcontractor on our own.

Throughout the 36-day delay, Safebound consistently brushed off my concerns, merely saying the other company would be in touch with updates — which never happened. Safebound seemed more interested in collecting their commission from the first installment than in delivering on their promises or providing any meaningful customer service. This entire experience was needlessly stressful, marked by broken promises, lack of transparency, and total disregard for responsibility. I would not recommend Safebound to anyone looking for a reliable and professional moving experience.
