While they are prompt to answer the phone & get someone out to you, they fail in the most important part - fixing your plumbing. They've sent 3 workers out to us and I don't think 1 was over 30. The lack of experience is glaring. The first worker had to be no more than 22, and while he was extremely nice and accommodating, the work was shoddy. He installed a new toilet incorrectly (it moves now), put on a mismatching toilet seat and told me that was normal, and did not shave down or cap the 3" bolt coming out of the bottom.

The next worker came out to fix some leaks and I showed him the toilet while he was there and he confirmed that the work done was not correct. He went out + got us a correct seat and shaved down the bolt which I really appreciated; however, he had to leave early because the Company kept calling him to leave, in the Middle of him trying to fix our problem!! He said he thought he was being fired.

Mind you, this was the ONLY worker of theirs that seemed to know what he was doing. He also left without completing the work which left a HUGE HOLE in our wall where he had to go in and make fixes. I waited 2 days and Nobody called me so I had to call them about the hole, which they seemed not to be aware of. They send a 3rd guy out, also young, who didn't have everything he needed, put the panels on terribly (they fall out now), and made a mess in my closet that he did not totally clean up. I gave them more than one opportunity and every attempt was a failure so I cannot recommend this company at all.

I recently had Mr. Rooter Plumbing come out to address a plumbing issue at my home. I will say that their response time was very quick, and I appreciated their professionalism upon arrival. They normally charge a $59 service fee just to come out, but in my case, they waived that fee, which I thought was a nice gesture. However, I was quite disappointed with the pricing for the work performed. While the technician was friendly and the job was completed properly, I was charged $731 for a task that I later discovered could have been done by other reputable plumbers for around $200.

This significant price difference left me feeling like I had been overcharged, and frankly, taken advantage of. While I understand that pricing can vary, this felt excessive and unfair for the scope of the work involved. In summary, while Mr. Rooter Plumbing provided fast service and waived the service fee, I would caution others to get multiple quotes before agreeing to any work, as the pricing may be considerably higher than average.

Very different experiences. 1st time was a emergency sewer line tree root clearing. The plumber was great, friendly, thorough and the price was reasonable. 2nd time, a outside spigot broke and we needed someone asap. He came out at 9 pm. Hours late, spent most of his time in his truck, so the job wasn't done until after midnight. Still, I was tolerant because he did do good work. 3rd time today is my never again moment. Was supposed to arrive between 8 and 9. Never showed. Called to ask what was going on, was told he had been here, and pretty much accused me of lying because 'he took a picture proving he was here'. Total lie, they went to my neighbor's house. We have 3 dogs. No one pulls up to our house without us knowing.

Scheduled again for 1 to 3 because our toilet was completely non-functional. They went to the wrong house again, mind you, our street number is very clearly displayed on the front of our home. Spotted them, had them come here. When I confronted the consistent issue of them going to the wrong house he actually yelled at me. Said, "Whatever, where's the door so I can get this done." He kept being very aggressive to the point I told him if he yelled at me again he could leave my property.

From there I had my son deal with the rest of their time here because I started to feel unsafe. He supposedly cleared the sewer line, but it was maybe 15 minutes, we have root issues that has never been cleared that fast. Toilet still wasn't flushing, so they came in and snaked the toilet. It was still flushing slow, but at least it was moving and I wanted this guy out of my house. He offered my son to run a camera to see the lines better, son comes to ask me, I said okay, but they took off and never did it. No invoice. Nothing. Okay, whatever, but then 1st toilet use after they left, toilet backed up instantly and had to be plunged. So in a nutshell, paid to have my line cleared and toilet fixed, and nothing works still.

Will NEVER use this company again. No one should feel unsafe, be verbally attacked, and have to listen to your plumber complain about your wet basement, spiders, a cob web, and the corner where the pipe was being cramped only to not fix the issue he was hired to do. Every person I dealt with from the phone girl, to the plumber were rude, aggressive and totally unprofessional. It's a shame, because my first plumber was amazing. I would love to upload my receipt, but they never bothered to give me one. Charged me fast enough though.

Don't use them because you will end up in court to settle financial disputes with them. I met with an estimator on 6/5/25 to get a quote for a basic drain unclogging service. I was told it would be $197 for two hours of work. I also confirmed on the phone with the same person on 6/10/25 that it would be $197 for two hours of work. I also scheduled the service for 6/11/2025 between 9am and 11am. After Mr. Rooter completed all pipe on 6/11/2025, he showed me the price and service I had to pay on an iPad, which was different from the service I requested and the quote. The iPad bill showed $1197 for Hydroscrub. I did not request the use of Hydroscrub for the unclogging. I then contacted their manager, who informed me that they had reviewed our past call and it showed that I verbally agreed to the Hydroscrub service and the $1197 price.

Before they completed the Hydroscrub task on 6/11/2025, I never received any written document, email confirmation, or SMS confirmation from Mr. Rooter regarding this service quotation. And there was no knowledge document from them starting on 6/11/2025 to prove that we understood the specific work they would perform and agreed to pay $1197. We only communicated about the service and price verbally. To ensure that both parties did not confirm that there was a difference in price in the past. And I have to make sure I am not being scammed and forced to pay for services I did not request. whether their service performed correctly, and disclosed clearly.

I asked Mr. Rooter to obtain the recording of our verbal commitment and then pay. But Mr. Rooter said they could not download and share it, so I did not pay for the time being. They sent an email notice on 6/11/2025 4:02pm attached a unapproved invoice, stated that if I did not pay the full amount within 5 days, they would take action. By the way, this email was only written document I had received from them with this case.

If you'd like to work with unethical liars, cheaters, and scammers, Mr. Rooter Mount Pleasant would be where you should go. Never in my life have I ever experienced such dishonesty. From them sending an unlicensed plumber to our home to them installing the wrong types of toilets the wrong brand of toilets and the plumber walking off the job.. then trying to sneak in an extra $500 hose bit. Customer service Horrible. Plumber Horrible. Our total bill came to about $13,000.. so I'm not complaining about a $200 shoddy service.

We hired Mr. Rooter because we were under the assumption that all the plumbers were licensed because Mr. Rooter advertises licensed plumbers the plumber they sent us we found out after the work when we asked for his license number while he was walking off the job he did not have one in the state of Michigan. This was confirmed by the owner of Mr. Rooter, Mount Pleasant location. Had we known this we would've never let him work on our home.

Another huge problem was we decided to replace three toilets in our home. The two brands of toilet that my husband and I were comfortable with after our extensive research were Toto toilet, or Kohler toilet toilets. The plumber left to get supplies assuming he would drive the 15 minutes to the Kohler showroom from our home or to Home Depot where they sell Kohler toilets off the shelf. I'm just also gonna add that Home Depot delivers and does same delivery. He decides to go to Menards probably because they offer cashback and he can pocket more money other than the $12,000 that we spent.

He came back installed toilets. We went to check on the work and he had installed American standard toilets. As soon as we saw that they were American standard toilets we told him to remove them because they were not the toilets that we wanted. That is when he flipped out unprofessionally and walked off the job with a bill paid in full! We went back-and-forth for months with Mr. Rooter of Mount Pleasant. Finally January 2, 2025 Amanda verbally agreed via telephone that she would refund the American standard toilets as well as the work involved for installing them that would be close to $4000.

Well, guess what! Mr. Rooter of Mount Pleasant, Michigan completely ghosted us and never made the refund. It is over four months later and the refund has still not been given for toilets. We asked them to remove the second they were installed. Just wait. This nightmare gets worse. We went over bill and noticed that we were charged an extra 500 something dollars for an extra hose bit? They thought that they would just slip that in there and we wouldn't notice. Oh they apologized for that and took it off the bill and said it was an accidental charge.? But really it just shows a pattern of deceitfulness and dishonesty. Unlicensed plumber, wrong toilets installed, no refund given when they said they would. Walking off the job when asked to uninstall the toilets.

Not only that. When he left the job, he took some of the plumbing equipment that we had replaced. I believe it was a water softener and some other things that we were upgrading and we were going to put the old ones in our cabin, but he decided to take those with him without asking. We expressed our concern with this to Mr. Rooter but those were never returned. From day one of the service we let Mr. Rooter of Mount Pleasant, Michigan know as well as Corporate that we were extremely concerned that they had sent a plumber with no license in the state of Michigan to our home to do over $13,000 worth of work a handyman exemption is at $600 worth of work in the state of Michigan. We asked them to send a journeyman or a licensed plumber. To double check the unlicensed plumbers work. Because as we all know, if plumbing is done wrong, it can lead to huge problems!

They would send no one even though the owner of the location location stated to me on the phone that she was a master plumber so she did not even want to come out and check the unlicensed plumber's work that she sent to our home. Thinking that we would never find out that they sent unlicensed plumber in the state of Michigan.

Let's move onto the bidet seat. We had asked for one bidet toilet, a heated bidet toilet with a remote, etc. they're about $4000.. We are updating our home. The plumber installed a bidet seat that was about $200 or $150 from Menards. The lid doesn't even stay open because the bidet seat itself that the plumber installed doesn't even fit the toilets that we didn't want. And that's OK because we did not want $150 bidet seat when we had asked for a bidet toilet.

Dealing with this company as well as Mr. Rooter Corporate, which is near impossible to get a hold of has been a complete nightmare. Just save yourself a headache and don't do it. Do not use Mr. Rooter Mount Pleasant, Michigan at all. Unethical, lying, thieving, deceitful false advertising.. terrible! This was the worst mistake we ever made. They advertise and print that they have licensed plumbers and that they are BBB accredited and have an A+ rating when in fact they do send unlicensed plumbers without informing you and they are not BBB accredited and they have an F rating with Better Business Bureau.

A few years ago we replaced a very old toilet, but apparently the technician did not install it properly. So our bathroom floor was showing signs of toilet leaks.

We called Mr. Rooter, and Luke came out the next day. He determined the problem, explained and showed it to us, provided options and costs, and when we determined a new toilet would be more cost efficient than fixing the old, he went to Home Depot and purchased a state of the art, affordable toilet for us. Then he removed the old toilet, fixed the pipe that the last technician ignored, and installed the new toilet. He provided service with a smile, knowledge, skills, and didn't even flinch when the curious cat came in and got in the way! Very seldom do you get this kind of service! I called Mr. Rooter with a kitchen drain that wasn’t working. The same day someone came and was here about 10-15 minutes for $95 and said he couldn’t get anything out and I needed camera guy for an extra $5 which I paid for. Camera guy came same day and was very nice and explained things well and drew up a plan. I received an estimate and agreed to it. The plumber, very pleasant, came a couple days later and didn’t do all that was in the contract but had the drain somewhat working but advised me to run lots of hot water and that he couldn’t really clean out the pipe well. This is the same pipe that he was supposed to replace.

At the time I paid the bill I did not realize he had not done all that was in the contract. He was also supposed to put on a gripper clean out plug which he did not do. Within 24 hours drain was not working. Office suggested camera guy come back a couple days later. Before he came I investigated and found that now clean out plug was installed so I knew camera guy couldn’t do anything and called to inform them but they sent him here anyway. He was very nice said, this was on them etc. After that I got a call from office saying the camera guy is not a plumber and the plumber said he did all he was supposed to do. The call was quite unpleasant. I told them he did not put in the clean out plug. She said she would call back. She did not call back and when I called back at the end of the day I was told they had scheduled the plumber to return on Thursday,

When does a company schedule your repair without checking with customer to make sure they are an available??.. and then that got postponed till Monday. He did return and replaced the pipe he was supposed to the first time but left without saying anything. He did not install the clean out plug. In the end this was a full two week ordeal without a kitchen drain and very expensive. My question is why did they use the camera guy to set the terms of repair for the contract and send him back to evaluate the situation…. only to tell me he doesn’t know plumbing …. which in my opinion he clearly did know plumbing and answered all my questions and was really trying to be helpful. I now understand why they are not backed by better business bureau. I looked that up after the fact. Lesson learned there. I also looked up signs of a scam. There are some red flags here.

Bid a sewer clean out with Hydro Jet stating they could not clear line blockage with snake. Also 300.00 for service call. Called local plumber Here in Surprise Arizona. They did not charge for services call and cleared line with snake. 385.00, no service call fee. Terrible company here in Surprise Arizona. Take advantage of seniors who may not know any better. Fortunately I have construction experience and knew this was a rip off attempt. Do your research.

I want to say that I appreciate the quick response Mr rooter came with and diagnosis was very accurate to the exact point they told me no hidden cost. Kyle, Brandon, Peyton, Sarah, Chelsea, Tim, and Taylor all did great in their part in getting my house back up and working again. Highly recommended and price unbeatable especially to their competitors and gave me warranty on the fix. Great company. Thanks again.

I would not recommend them to anyone, he didn't want to put effort on doing the job, all he wanted to do is sell us products and or do whatever to up the charge, and quit as soon as his equipment started shaking and said if he kept going and his machine broke I would have to pay for it....very unprofessional...

Nothing was repaired for the problem I was having. Paid $15000 for replacing one small pipe. Charged for excavation that was not performed. I'm a single woman and they took advantage of me. Don't ever use this company.

There is a reason they offer the cheapest clean-out around - they are not there to clean out your drains. They are there to upsell you a service. The first time they told us the line to the street needed to be replaced… $6,000. The next time it backed up (after we paid the $6,000), they told us the problem was a y junction installed backwards and wanted $550.00 to turn it around.

When it backed up again 6 days later the company scheduled an appointment for the next day in the afternoon and then called at the start of the window for them to arrive to say they would not come out again unless we agreed to pay them to change the y connection - leaving us with no working plumbing in the house on a Sunday afternoon. A local company came out the next day and fixed everything for $100 less than the Mr. Rooter quote.

We had service in July and needed the same service again for the same problem. When I called the receptionist she said to just talk to them when they come out and they can probably discount it. That's exactly what I did and they said that they cannot. We went ahead and went with them anyway, because we needed the problem to be fixed.

When he was done, he said he tested out the washer to make sure it didn't leak, and then he said it looks good and left. I went back and It flooded everywhere. I caught him right before he left for him to come back in only to find that he forgot to put the tubes back in the wall. How did he check it then? After all that we're still having problems again. I called another service company. They came out and fixed it right away with a 3 month warranty! They said that the other people did not have a long enough snake. I then tried calling a couple of times to talk to a manager at Mr. Rooter and they keep telling me that they are in a meeting for 2 weeks. I've left my number, no call back. This is the worst company I've ever had to deal with!

The service was good, the guy who came to the house was professional. The guy who answered the phone was very helpful. My problem was with the price- very expensive $650 to unclog a shower and the toilet..I found another company that charges much less $159. I feel ripped off by $500 difference.

Their prices are unbelievably ridiculous. Had to shut off valves installed which would cost $20 at tops at the store very easily installed and a pressure gauge $995. I can't believe that they can get away with these prices. My problem that I called for still is not fixed because there are two parts to my bathtub handles that cannot be found so it's tore apart still.

I contacted Mr Rooter due to water leaking on my kitchen and bathroom floors. I explained the issue to Alex when he came out that there was no consistent patterns for the leaking. I would not have any leaks for a week and then several days in a row. I explained the leaking was not correlated to my use of dishwasher/washing machine/shower/sinks etc. Hydro scrub was done/visual inspection with camera, and Alex said my sewer pipes were corroded and leaking with large holes and that was the source of the water. I was quoted $8000. He guaranteed I would no longer have water on my floors. I had to open up a charge account and finance the repair. Then he tells me there is more damage than what he saw and that a larger portion of the pipes needed to be replaced. and said it would be $14000.

He called and got a larger credit line. He then told me the total was $29000 but Synchrony would only approve $14000 so they were going to do it for that price. So I said OK. Then he tells me it's not $14000 total, but in addition to the $8000 I already paid. Making it almost $23000 to replace 20ft of pipe. I really had no choice at this point...I had water on my floors, and he already had a tunnel dug halfway under my house. Would not make any sense to replace part of a leaking pipe. It took them almost a month to do the repair. They showed up whenever they wanted, would work some days only 2 hours, and some days work till after midnight and were making my neighbors angry. So they finally finish the job, and I still have water on my kitchen floor. I called Alex. He came back out and said he ran every test he could and it's not a plumbing issue. So now I'm $23000 in debt.

The credit card bill came in before they were even finished with the job and the minimum payment is $540/mo. Not only did they not fix the problem I originally called them for, but I have no money to fix the issue. I have stinky water all over my kitchen floor. I contacted the local office via their website and explained this and they have not responded. Update: After sending the above email I got a call and they sent a different technician out. He was here for 2 1/2 hours and said he thinks a pipe is leaking in the wall behind my dishwasher and it would be an additional $2000 to fix and he could not guarantee that was the problem. I told him they should fix it without additional charge since this is the original issue I called them for and was guaranteed there would be no more water on my floor. The tech said they had to charge me and that nowhere else would be cheaper. Tried to bully me into paying upfront.

When I refused he asked me why and would not stop pressuring me. He said he can't schedule the work unless I pay upfront. I said no. He then tried to get me to pay half and I said no. He kept on questioning me as to why I will not do it. I had to get nasty with him and tell him to drop it. I told him to schedule it for a week out and he asked why I won't do it sooner. I told him I had other things going on. He said you don't have to be home just leave back door unlocked. I said no. He asked over and over why I would not schedule it sooner to the point I had to be rude. I called another plumber and they came out the same day and replaced the leaking pipe and solved the issue in 2 hours for $486. NEVER call Mr Rooter...they are salesmen first, not plumbers. And they will never give you a written estimate, and I had to ask several times for an invoice. They make you sign electronically and you never get to see what you're signing or have a copy.

Tried to charge me $15,000 to replace 10 feet of sewer line. When I canceled the project before they started, I was charged $800 cancelation fee. I read that the average cost for that work is $2,000 to $3,000. Grossly overcharged.

I called Mr. Rooter Macomb on 8/21/24 requesting the installation of a new kitchen sink. They were able to send Adam ** out the following day to look at my issue. He was very professional and was able to provide quote and scope of work. He returned the day after (8/23) to complete the work with Jeremy **. The two of them installed the new sink, cleaned the drain, and repaired everything over the course of the afternoon. They were both very professional and friendly and did a great job with the installation. After dealing with plumbers that take forever to schedule appointments and don't always do a great job with them, it was a breath of fresh air getting such fast and professional service. I would definitely recommend using Mr. Router of Macomb and both Adam and Jeremy for your plumbing needs and I will be calling them for my future needs as well. Thanks again for your fast, friendly and efficient service!
