I paid them for unclogging the basement but got poor service… I paid them for unclogging the basement sink in my house. The agent assured me that the work was done properly, without even testing if the water would run down. On the receipt, it was written that the work was without warranty. After I noticed the issue, I called them to report that the issue was still occurring. I asked them to come and assess my concern. They refused to do so. Instead, they asked me to pay for hydrojetting to resolve the issue. I called another plumbing company. When they came in, they could not believe that when I told them Mr Rooter Plumbing completed the same work earlier. The latter corrected the wrong service provided by Mr. Rooter and gave me a 12-month guarantee. I asked Mr. Rooter to reimburse me for the poor work provided, and they refused. Honestly, based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone.

I was charged close to $20,000 for very poor quality work. Over a series of visits, Mr. Rooter consistently found things they claimed were additional problems and added extra charges. Now that I am selling the house, all their work must be ripped out and redone because it is of such poor quality. Instead, search for a company that is truly locally owned and not owned by private equity like so many national chains. Mr. Rooter is owned by KKR.

I'm no plumber but I also know who else isn't. MR. ROOTER. I now know how they got high ratings. Somehow they are able to remove the bad reviews. This place is horrible. Crappiest work I've ever seen in my life. Unprofessional. Left a mess laying in the yard. Put a water heater and charge $3,000 for it. Broke the door on the cabinet where the water heater goes. The water heater is leaning. Gas leak and this was for my son. Luckily I went over there and found the gas leak right at the flex hose that the technician installed. If you want to call him that but they refuse to do anything about it so we're going to go a different route with them. I would recommend never even calling them. Absolute crap. They need to flush theirselves.

Highly do not recommend Mr. Rooter Plumbing to anybody. My plumbing wasn't done right. I was charged on my bill for everything and they only did my tub in my bathroom sink. I live without a front sink, without a washer and without a toilet. I had them come a week ago when everything was below -25. They did a half-ass job. Not satisfied at all. Had him come out to recheck it. The guy Andrew played games. Didn't even come to my door but called his business place of work Mr. Rooter Plumbing and said nobody was home. My husband was home waiting on him. We played games for 2 hours with that and Andrew when I had him come to my home I told him all the plumbing needs to be done and told him what was frozen.
He only handled what was frozen and not what I said which was all the plumbing but he charged me for all the plumbing. Now I live without water with three kids and it is illegal for them to leave me like this and I can sue the workers. They are very unprofessional and I believe they all lied on their application. None of them know anything about plumbing. He left me with no water after charging me $600.

I have used Mr. Rooter in the past & have no serious concerns. However I recently found a small drip which I knew was coming from my powder room. The service person, Timmy, came on time. I explained what the problem was. Firstly, he tried to tell me the toilet would probably need replacing (it's only a few years old). Then it was a problem with the main water valve. He checked the valve inside, which he proceeded in causing another drip because he couldn't turn it off! Then checked the valve outside...Which I told him the outside area belongs to the Condo board & would be their problem. He was adamant but didn't have the part. He then went off to the office to get a part & would be back in 10 minutes. A hour later he returned= Was trying to upsell me different valves. I told him to, please, check the toilet before anything else.
Guess what? That's where the drip was coming from. The bill cost me $1,200. Took him over 5 hrs. He wasted a lot of my time...Most of it touching things that didn't need touching...Making personal calls on his phone... Wasting time going to the office. I questioned the bill & was told the Operation Director would call me back. After a few days of waiting still no call... Called them back & was told someone would call me. Fast forward 10 days & still no call. So, don't trust Tracy in the office...She couldn't even explain to me what the fuel surcharge is for. Seems once they've got your money they don't care. The upmark on their prices is daylight robbery. I would NEVER use them again. All it took was a simple call to explain what all the charges are for. Because of their greed & useless customer service I would give them ZERO stars.

Pilot light went out, called Mr. Rooter they came out next day. Which was quickly. After inspection they said we need the piping that runs the hot water out from the hot water heater replaced just for safe measures and another part that pushes the water. They got the flame back on same day. Then Said two pipes need replaced. They did both jobs that night . After they left we saw both pipes leaking. Called them back to tighten. The same guy tighten only one. Said the other was leaking due to the putty around the pipe not being dry yet. After a week of water dripping from the hot water pipe. Called Mr Rooter again he came out to say oh cause the 3 year old hot water heater was rusted, it wasn't, that's why it's leaking. Keep in mind my water heater was new, 3 years old. Cause they told us both pipes needed replaced cause it could do damage we had them Change both. They charge 890 dollars with a 85 dollar discount.
Now they are back out yet again. Saying it wasn't there fault its leaking cause the hot water heater is rusted. I'm so disappointed yet again that a company can't due right anymore. So after the 800 was paid in full. We need to replace the hot water heater now. Price around $1800. I keep telling them we didn't have any leakage no problems til they replaced that pipe. . Now we do cause Mr Rooter company made the problem for us. So, please save your money do your research. Look at all reviews. Don't call Mr. Rooter.

Caused water damage resulting in water leaking through my ceiling into the story below and all over my furniture from a simple copper pipe repair. Also installed expansion tank in such a way that it cannot be accessed to check pressure. When I called and spoke to "Manager John" he agreed that he would send someone out to fix the expansion tank install free of charge. When tech Josh arrived the work which was promised to be free was now $400. Horrible business practices and lack of accountability. So many better plumbers out there.

I initially had Mr. Rooter come out to replace an old bathroom faucet with new shut-offs. The tech Nick (owner's son) spent most of his time complaining about his father the owner. He then broke the faucet trying to make it fit rather than just tell us it wouldn't work for that sink. We had to return the faucet for a new one at my expense. We made another appointment with Nick to do some additional work which was to take the whole day. Nick never showed for the appointment. It took me calling the corporate office to even get ahold of the local office, to figure out what happened. Their AI phone system sucks. Apparently Nick forgot the appointment. After speaking with Duncan (owners) we agreed to have two techs come for the next appointment rather than taking any discounts. The techs did arrive as scheduled and completed the work in less than three hours.
Everything was rushed. A grinder was used, rather than a less invasive option, to cut our shower tile. Nick made a complete mess of the shower and filled my downstairs with dust for hours. Nothing was cleaned before leaving so I had to spend the time saved cleaning up their mess. We had to have them return not once but twice to fix mistakes that Nick had made before everything was fixed to our satisfaction. After the final repair nobody but the corporate office bothered to contact us.
We incurred the cost of replacing the initial faucet, shampooing our carpets, furniture and electronics to eliminate the dust they left behind ($300). We then received a quote for additional work we were to have done before this mess, and the quote was three times higher than where we ended up going. We refused to have Mr. Rooter do any more work for us. We were ok with their extremely high costs due to the favorable reviews they have but after dealing with them I would advise doing your homework before using this company. We will be filing a complaint with the BBB also.

That guy wanna to roll me for 700 for an half hour job max!! Talking like my brand new house is crap, my new toilet seat is hard to work on and so on. I asked for a toilet, vanity and tub/surround to be removed and new ones put in. The toilet and vanity were installed and no problems. The tub/ surround is another story. They installed a tub and surround. But, now it’s unusable. They left a gap of open wood around the entire surround and floor. I met with the manager, Dave. after the work was done. He told me they are only plumbers, and they installed everything correctly. I was told they don’t do tile, and now it’s on me to get this fixed. This is unacceptable. After an install, you should be able to use it. Or am I crazy?? I never saw an estimate, or a bill, just an amount to pay. That’s on me, for trusting a “reputable” company. I would rate them a zero if possible. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. But….if you decide to try them, make sure to get every little detail on paper. I will be filing a lawsuit against Rooter for not finishing this job.

Absolutely Terrible Experience. Called to have a drain snaked with the $95 special. Plumber came out, manually put the snake in the drain and refused to turn on the snake. Said, ”I found the clog but I’m not sure if I can push past it for only the $95 discount.” I called the dispatcher again and explained what was happening and mentioned the snake wasn’t even being turned on… Guy says to me, “I’m sorry I didn’t know you were a professional plumber.” Are You kidding me? The lack of respect and basic understanding is ridiculous! Being told one price then told 3x the price, then being disrespected when calling and asking for help with an employee, is crazy. Will never call them again.

After experiencing a sudden sewer backup that dumped raw sewage on my bathroom floor I called Roto Rooter who was not able to help us. At that time, I against my better judgment I called MR. ROOTER. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. My sewer service line was in need of repair in a section in my front yard that involved about 8 linial feet by 4 feet and 8 feet deep. At that determination I was required to pay them over $4000.00. After that disastrous dig they discovered that the entire line needed replacing. I was required to come up with the remaining $1500.00 on the spot. No written estimate was given to me. I was required to sign on their iPad to consent. Then I was directed to loan agency to finance that remaining $15000.00. WHAT A SCHEME THEY HAD!!! I was totally at their mercy and under pressure to Docusign for their loan. Their work was definitely NOT worth the disaster I was left with.
I have never experienced such unprofessional work. They DESTROY my entire front yard by spreading the extra dirt from the trench ALL over my yard. They yanked out 3 bushes (burying 2 of them), scattering landscaping boulders in the the dirt piles (and telling us it is our job to retrieve them). WE ARE 83 AND 80!!! There is no way we can repair this lawn without a big expense. We are trying to support the rest of our lives on a small life's saving. Boy they sure didn't have any consideration for our plight. On top of all of this their bill is HIGHLY INFLATED. What are we going to do now? PLEASE BE WARNED ABOUT MR. ROOTER!!!

DO NOT use this company. I requested a partial refund and received no further response from a Regional Manager, as I requested. I booked an evaluation at my Home, and the technician came in, leaving water running in my upstairs bathroom. As a result, a Water restoration company was called to clean up the water damage over the weekend. Inexperienced and untrained Technicians caused the problem. I had to delay my service as they had a camera outage and so three days of waiting for my prepaid service of $295.00. All of the Technicians had to make multiple calls to other staff, as they were not trained to do the work or evaluate the request. I called the technician (Carl) to request a partial refund of all my services with no return call from a Regional Manager. Highly Disappointing Customer Service experience. Never PAY them in Advance as they demand.

Tyler G. did an excellent job of fixing our "whistling" toilet in our primary bathroom. He was very punctual and the office called and let us know an approximate time. Tyler was at our house within the time frame and he was prepared and ready to solve our plumbing challenge. The primary toilet has a "whistling" noise for about two weeks. It was off and on so we didn't immediately act. This past week that toilet was not only "whistling" but started a small "scream." It was getting noisy so I called Mr. Rooter right away. We have used them before and always been satisfied and pleased with their work. In fact, last summer Tyler drained our water heater and did a great job. Tyler was ready and prepared when he arrived. He studies the areas involved and explained why we had that loud sound with each flush.
Tyler explained the new construction in the area and the effects of construction filling, over time, bits of dust and dirt in the toilet. He also explained how a new water tower affects water pressure. He fixed our toilet within an hour easy and he showed all the parts he installed and explained why. Our toilet is seven going on eight years old. It is like new thanks to Tyler's expert work. I then inquired as to possibly buying a new toilet in the next year and Tyler explained how that works and gave me a quote. I would gladly have Tyler and Mr. Rooter in the Killeen area work on our toilets and in the future install a new toilet. I know Tyler will get the job done and he always educates the customer. Tyler is five-star quality and so is Mr. Rooter. S. **

While they are prompt to answer the phone & get someone out to you, they fail in the most important part - fixing your plumbing. They've sent 3 workers out to us and I don't think 1 was over 30. The lack of experience is glaring. The first worker had to be no more than 22, and while he was extremely nice and accommodating, the work was shoddy. He installed a new toilet incorrectly (it moves now), put on a mismatching toilet seat and told me that was normal, and did not shave down or cap the 3" bolt coming out of the bottom.
The next worker came out to fix some leaks and I showed him the toilet while he was there and he confirmed that the work done was not correct. He went out + got us a correct seat and shaved down the bolt which I really appreciated; however, he had to leave early because the Company kept calling him to leave, in the Middle of him trying to fix our problem!! He said he thought he was being fired.
Mind you, this was the ONLY worker of theirs that seemed to know what he was doing. He also left without completing the work which left a HUGE HOLE in our wall where he had to go in and make fixes. I waited 2 days and Nobody called me so I had to call them about the hole, which they seemed not to be aware of. They send a 3rd guy out, also young, who didn't have everything he needed, put the panels on terribly (they fall out now), and made a mess in my closet that he did not totally clean up. I gave them more than one opportunity and every attempt was a failure so I cannot recommend this company at all.

I recently had Mr. Rooter Plumbing come out to address a plumbing issue at my home. I will say that their response time was very quick, and I appreciated their professionalism upon arrival. They normally charge a $59 service fee just to come out, but in my case, they waived that fee, which I thought was a nice gesture. However, I was quite disappointed with the pricing for the work performed. While the technician was friendly and the job was completed properly, I was charged $731 for a task that I later discovered could have been done by other reputable plumbers for around $200.
This significant price difference left me feeling like I had been overcharged, and frankly, taken advantage of. While I understand that pricing can vary, this felt excessive and unfair for the scope of the work involved. In summary, while Mr. Rooter Plumbing provided fast service and waived the service fee, I would caution others to get multiple quotes before agreeing to any work, as the pricing may be considerably higher than average.

Very different experiences. 1st time was a emergency sewer line tree root clearing. The plumber was great, friendly, thorough and the price was reasonable. 2nd time, a outside spigot broke and we needed someone asap. He came out at 9 pm. Hours late, spent most of his time in his truck, so the job wasn't done until after midnight. Still, I was tolerant because he did do good work. 3rd time today is my never again moment. Was supposed to arrive between 8 and 9. Never showed. Called to ask what was going on, was told he had been here, and pretty much accused me of lying because 'he took a picture proving he was here'. Total lie, they went to my neighbor's house. We have 3 dogs. No one pulls up to our house without us knowing.
Scheduled again for 1 to 3 because our toilet was completely non-functional. They went to the wrong house again, mind you, our street number is very clearly displayed on the front of our home. Spotted them, had them come here. When I confronted the consistent issue of them going to the wrong house he actually yelled at me. Said, "Whatever, where's the door so I can get this done." He kept being very aggressive to the point I told him if he yelled at me again he could leave my property.
From there I had my son deal with the rest of their time here because I started to feel unsafe. He supposedly cleared the sewer line, but it was maybe 15 minutes, we have root issues that has never been cleared that fast. Toilet still wasn't flushing, so they came in and snaked the toilet. It was still flushing slow, but at least it was moving and I wanted this guy out of my house. He offered my son to run a camera to see the lines better, son comes to ask me, I said okay, but they took off and never did it. No invoice. Nothing. Okay, whatever, but then 1st toilet use after they left, toilet backed up instantly and had to be plunged. So in a nutshell, paid to have my line cleared and toilet fixed, and nothing works still.
Will NEVER use this company again. No one should feel unsafe, be verbally attacked, and have to listen to your plumber complain about your wet basement, spiders, a cob web, and the corner where the pipe was being cramped only to not fix the issue he was hired to do. Every person I dealt with from the phone girl, to the plumber were rude, aggressive and totally unprofessional. It's a shame, because my first plumber was amazing. I would love to upload my receipt, but they never bothered to give me one. Charged me fast enough though.
