***WARNING*** LG Corp. microwaves are designed with a Halogen light that is on the under side shining down onto the range or countertop. If you turn it on, it heats the interior so high that a burn to the skin can & DOES burn skin. 4 months to get LG to do something!!! Their response: "It is not a manufacturer's defect. Just don't touch it." Well as dishes are lifted out it is easy for to burn a wrist or arm when it brushes the interior bottom. LG Corp. Will NOT do anything but give you a runaround. It took 4 months to get that answer. Don't buy an LG microwave. This is a safety issue. LG doesn't care about the consumer.

My LG microwave lasted almost 2 years. The company wouldn't back it up. Sent me to the repair shop. They told me my mistake was buying an LG. I am now using a GE microwave from 2005. Work works great. I found it at the side of the road.

We bought LG appliances. Stove, Fridge, Dishwasher, and Microwave above the stove, they were bought in 2021. We didn't move into our new house until July 2022. The appliances were being stored at the warehouse of the store we purchased, I am a Whirlpool person but there was a problem getting the shipments during Covid so I thought I would try LG. Nevertheless LG sucks, the oven temp is out of control, it leaves condensation while using, the microwave clock has blinked since we received it and now you can't tell what time it is. Just awful appliances. Please don't purchase this junk.

This is regarding LG Microwave Smart Inverter model MSWN1590L. After a little more than a year, the Microwave began rusting out on the inside. Rust started falling in food. It was always cleaned and maintained with plain water and soap. LG said it was purely cosmetic and would not replace, but LG also recommended to stop using it because it was "hazardous" to use. Tried to upload photos but file too big.

I have the 2.0 cubic foot oven. It works, once I figure out how to start this friggin thing. It is very beautiful, but use is not intuitive. Cook for a minute, and press too many buttons to do this. I read the manual, and I still have trouble.

February 2023 I purchased MVEM 1825F microwave. 17 months later the inside light stopped working. Come to find out the light is tied into the electrical circuits of the unit which means the customer cannot change the bulb. LG says it will cost us over $300 for the repair. LG is now offering the same unit for around $249. ( $50 less than the estimate for repairing). Why Lg would make a microwave where the customer cannot change the inside light and then charge you more than what they are now selling it for, is crazy. I wonder how many other customers are having the same problem.

After our old Sharp microwave decided to say it had had enough we bought an LG LMC2075ST 2.0 cu/ft model. Well 2 months from the day a year ago the magnetron has decided it doesn't want to play. Customer service flat out said no way I can have the replacement part, which is covered for 10 years but I will need to take it to one of their "Authorized Service Centers" of which there is not one around my area. I can purchase one from parts suppliers for about $90 but not cost effective to do so. I guess they don't care about keeping customers because they just lost one. They really don't care. Oh and to top it off, both agents on chat acted like they had some other place to be as they were continually asking me if I was "Still there" and got booted out of the chat both times. DON'T BUY LG.

I purchased an over the range LG microwave a couple months ago along with the matching stove/oven. Have not used either daily. The framework at the bottom of the door has melted in front of the lighting mechanism that illuminates the stove top. Repairmen feel it is due to the burners below the microwave. I previously had same set up with a Whirlpool microwave and stove for years without an issue. When the microwave light is turned on for any period of time it becomes too hot to touch the metal or glass piece over light. I am told they will replace the door but then will not honor any reoccurrence or any other possible defect with microwave. It seems that this is a safety issue and should be manufacturer's recall due to defect in engineering.

Had to replace not just the handle but the entire handle assembly. Called customer service and they did nothing. This is the 5th handle assembly I had to replace in two years. Would never recommend or purchase any LG appliances ever again!

My LG microwave died after only 4 months. I called LG the next morning. After waiting 25 minutes to speak with an agent, following his "diagnostic" instructions, and sending him photos of my purchase receipt and the stickers on the back of my unit, he told me that I would be receiving a check to reimburse me for the cost of the unit (because the repair cost would exceed the replacement cost). He said that I would be receiving confirmation via text or email. I received no confirmation, so I sent a text. No response. Three more texts over the course of the day. No response.
Finally, I called again in the evening. Another 15 minutes waiting for an agent. After finding my file, she informed me that there was a policy change a YEAR ago, prohibiting reimbursement for defective units; and mandating replacement. That I have no option but to wait (without a microwave) for 9-16 days for a duplicate of the microwave that only lasted 4 months. I will never again purchase anything made/sold by LG.

My wife had taken food out of the microwave when she smelled smoke and looked at the flames coming out of the LG microwave!! She tried to put out the fire. Eventually the flames subsided and she opened the door and the microwave was destroyed!! It's very lucky that the house could have went up in flames!! And she would have perished in the fire. She had the microwave turned off and it was cleaned so why would it randomly catch fire? This is a major problem and I bet we aren't the only one!! It will be a cold day in hell before I would ever consider any LG product!! The model number is LMVM2055ST and serial number is609kmvp.

Bought LG microwave from Home Depot. Fails 5 months later taking 2 months to repair. (It costs $151 for labor and $79.74 for the part which was covered by the LG warranty). After 365 days the control panel fails again. I called LG 7 times with none of the promised return calls. I was given a case number, an escalation case number and finally a Presidential Liaison team case number. The final call resulted in me finding out the previous calls did not actually inform the LG management of my requests.
I felt the microwave should last more than 1.5 years without having two major repairs needed for the mild usage our family gives the microwave. I had felt the microwave should be replaced. (The tech who repaired it the first time felt the cost to repair was more than the value of the microwave and it should have been replaced.) I was disappointed with LG as I had lived in South Korea for 5 years and had great experiences with a variety of LG products there and they would have replaced the microwave or at least repaired it again at their cost.

My LG microwave and oven combos microwave stopped working in Oct 2021. We put in a service request which was covered under our 1 year LG manufacturer's warranty and had a service company come to our home and determined that the microwave needed repair. After several week I called the company called Dave’s (in Maryland) and they said the LG parts are on back order. Tacia, a rep for LG called me to ask about repairs status and I stated the situation and the delay due to parts being unavailable. So I waited and according to Dave’s the parts are now available but my order has been canceled and they couldn’t determine why. So I called LG and they say that I’m responsible to pay for the repair. I need help. This makes no logical sense and no one is helping me.

I called Lg today to get my microwave handle fixed. I told the gentleman that Lg had replaced the door once due to the plastic coming off the door, this time the plastic came off the handle where the bottom of the handle comes out of the door. We're not hard on our appliances and the repair man on the previous repair said because the microwave sits over the stove the heat tends to do this, hmmmm! So my extended 5 year warranty is only good on electrical and mechanical. So when the top comes off I will not be able to open the microwave, that would be mechanical! First time I've ever wasted my money on an extended warranty! I bought a whole Lg kitchen appliances at the same time, never again!

I have purchased a LG Microwave Oven model MS4266OBS from Good Guys in 2018. The following statement is printed on the glass door of the MW oven: "Smart Inverter Magnetron 10-year Warranty" - Please see the picture attached. It doesn't say either Part only warranty or Limited Warranty. My LG MW oven does not heat after 4 years. LG Customer support asked me to perform a quick test and they determined that the Magnetron is faulty and need to replace. They also told me that they do provide the part free of charge but I have to pay for the labour. When I mentioned what is printed on the glass door of the MW oven, they said I need to refer to the operations a manual that comes with the MW oven to get full details of the 10-year warranty and it's my faulty as I have not read the operations manual before making the purchase.
As per the advice received from the LG Australia Customer Services, LG EXPECTS ALL CUSTOMERS TO READ THE OPERATIONS MANUAL OF ANY LG APPLIANCE prior to buying them as what is written in the operations manual could be a clear contradiction of what is printed on the appliance. This is misleading the customers who trust what's written on the appliance to be accurate as per how it is written on the appliance. BE CAREFUL with this dodgy company, their dodgy products and customer service! It is not possible for anyone to read the operations manual of a product at a shop before you purchase it. I am not sure how these companies were allowed to operate in this kind of dodgy manner.

Looks great and working perfectly so far. Only complaint is no interior light while cooking. But I guess that’s actually a good thing! Is beautiful and installation was easy. Very pleased with our new LG over range microwave.

My microwave is almost two years old... I only use it to warm leftovers or butter…short bursts only…today , I was melting 2 tablespoons of butter for a recipe and fire started shooting out from the right side.. There is burn marks on the whitish pad screwed to the side.. It made a horrible noise which made me look..only a few seconds, butter did not even melt.. I called my husband to come look… I reset it and pushed start..of course it not do it to show him… this happened last week to me also… What do I do now.. We have all LG appliances, I thought the microwave would be better than this…not 2 years old yet and used sparingly… Please advise…

Right after the 12 month warranty expired the microwave stopped working. We were lucky that we had a home warranty insurance so all I had to pay was $75. They had to replace the Magnetron, the fan and the fan blade. The LG service was good, however the microwave is not. Buy extended warranty. May be it will help.

We purchased an above range LG Microwave in Jan. 2021 and ask Lowe’s to install it. They were prompt to install it. It worked 2 days and would not heat. We waited a month for a service call, finally paid to get the new microwave repaired. Now on 2/24/21 it does not heat again. We are facing another long wait and additional expense. Do not buy this product!!

Bought LG over the stove microwave on 11/10/20 at Home Depot in Homer Glen, IL. Model LMV2031. Serial 007TAMABC5. It's been running fine, really no problems until last week. When I turn the light on the glass covering the light gets so hot I can't touch. It also make the glass turn table inside the microwave so hot I needed a pot holder to take it out. The whole inside was hot. I'm afraid to use it because it might catch on fire. What can be done about this? **

In the summer of 2018, we spent nearly $4000 dollars on all new LG appliances. After around 2 years, the Microwave count down timer started to go in and out at times. We called LG and they said it was out of warranty. It has now completely failed which is disappointing since our last unit worked great for 15+ years. LG did help connect us to Warranty repair but they said that based on where we live, it is probably less expensive to buy a new one. In my opinion, this should last much longer and they should have a better warranty and customer service policy. Failing in 2 years is not long for an appliance you would expect to last more than 10 years.

I purchased the microwave in 2018 and the mount at the top has fell apart and will not stay in place. I have had it serviced several times. It is a piece of junk. Wish I had never bought it!

Bought LG Microwave about 1 yr ago. Loved it until it just died today. My last microwave was worked for over 15 years and was still working when I replaced it with the LG so it would match my kitchen appliances. Wish I had my old one back.

I bought the whole set. Gas convection oven, dishwasher, big refrigerator and the microwave for my new home. It didn’t last even a year. LG said yes they will fix it. Months later, nope. Now I have a useless appliance and wasted money. My $25 Hamilton Beach is going strong 3 years later. I don’t recommend doing business with this company or Home Depot.

I had the LG SolarDOM in South Africa, the best microwave I ever had, but sold it when I emigrated to Malta. I couldn't find a SolarDOM there and bought the NeoChef which is also good but not great. I then emigrated to Panama and bought another Neochef. Not as good as the one I had in Malta and less accessories. I also bought a LG Dishwasher in Panama, which has a known design flaw. It stopped working within 6 months and I logged a ticket with LG. The repair company came to check it and I gave them all the details of the faulty part and the replacement part. Then nothing happend and I've moved to another part of the country in the meantime. I'd love to have another LG SolarDOM however it seems that LG stopped manufacturing it. After the dishwasher incident, I'll only buy LG microwave ovens and none of their other products.

I have only had my over the stove microwave for a little over a year (model # LG - LMV2031ST). It stopped working. I am very surprised. I spent time researching it and expected to have it last longer than a year. My previous one lasted 11 years. It was from a different company. The warranty has conveniently expired. I now have to spend precious funds for repairs or to purchase another one. I am on a fixed income and would never consider buying another LG product.

It's been a good strong microwave with few problems. It has a crack in the door frame but seems not to affect the function. I have all LG kitchen appliances and the trim seems to be their weak points with each. But while they may not be pretty, the important parts continue to work so am overlooking the cosmetic issues. However, I rated this appliance lower because LG customer service is poor.

The controls on this microwave take some getting used to. They're impossible to see in dim light, and they're not really very intuitive. My old microwave had actual buttons with numbers on them. This one uses a "cutsie" system that must have been designed by nerds who just wanted to demonstrate a clever-- but not user-friendly-- alternative. Oh well! Otherwise, the microwave works just fine.

LG support reached out to us and hired a contractor to repair the microwave. They contacted me several times to ensure everything was taken care of to our satisfaction. I'm very satisfy with their effort to correct the issue even though the warranty period for the microwave had expired. Great support.

Back in 09/01/2018, I purchased these three LG appliances at Lowe’s: a French door refrigerator, a dishwasher and an electric range. Spending a total of $4,663.46. The purchased included a $200 debit card, which we used to purchase a wall mounted LG microwave. First, the electric range started having issues…some burners didn’t work and some of the screen numbers didn’t register, making it difficult to setup timers. It was out of warranty, but I called a local appliance repair service center and the person stated most probably was the main board. He did replace the main board, but the problem persisted, so he replaced some other electronic components, which fixed the issue. Thankfully, he reinstalled the old main board and didn’t charge us for it.
On December 15, 2020, the refrigerator stopped cooling and the compressor made lots of noise. This time, I contacted LG Customer Service, which has since agreed to have it fixed, but it’ll be January 4th, 2021 before they can send a tech to look at it…21 days after I reported the issue. Today, January 1, 2021, the LG microwave also stopped working. It first began making a loud fan noise and now it’s not heating the food. It’s out of warranty, so it means I must hire someone to get it fix. The LG microwave replaced a much older Sharp microwave, which we still owned. It’s smaller than the LG microwave but it still works, so we’ll use it until we can afford to have the LG microwave repair.
But we’re so disappointed with the whole purchase of these LG appliances. It’s quite difficult to trust, not just the LG brand, but other major brands as well. I didn’t pay a fortune for the Sharp brand microwave, but after over 11 years it still works. Makes one wonder whether these issues with the LG brand appliances are either a coincidence or by design; after all, they all seem to break down after the warranty has expired. By the way, we sold the single oven LG electric range and got one from Samsung because my wife needed a two-oven electric range. We went with the Samsung brand mainly because of the issue we’ve had with the LG electric range.
