I had taken a delivery of convertible Haier fridge from Pravin Electronics, Hadapsar, Pune on 20 Nov 2018. My fridge part automatically converts into freezer. Thrice the technicians came and tried to sort it out, but of no use. I was promised that fridge will be replaced. When the time for replacement was promised, different technicians came from Ranjangaon factory to repair it. Still the promise is unfilled. Don't buy this company's fridge. My jams, sausages, cheese vegetables all get converted to solid ice. Think 100 times before you buy it.
Don't buy one of these. They suffer an early but swift death. Leaving you out around $400. Then Haier refuses to make it right. Now I hear there is a recall. Smh... Haier refused to repair or replace the dead refrigerator after it died only 3 months after purchasing it. It was because I put it in our office break room where only 2 people used it occasionally. "Commercial Use" they explained. How does 2 people using it occasionally constitute commercial use? It isn't, but they got their sale (the last one from us!) and we got a dead refrigerator for our $400 output. After going around and around with them for several months, I gave it away to get that daily annoyance out of my sight. The gal was going to convert it into a chic incubator. Hopefully she is getting better use out of it than we did!
IO brought a fridge freezer from Curry's (no fault on their behalf. They have tried everything as have I). 18 months later the freezer is too warm the door does not shut with not enough suction on door. Took three days to get hold of company. Another day to get hold of engineer who did nothing. Said it was normal! NO NO NO it is not. Their complaints department is crap you can not get through to them. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I feel really let down as I don't earn much and took a while to save up to buy. I am still waiting to get through to them!
I bought a large American style Haier fridge freezer in 2015, in Ireland. It was not used for 1 year until a new kitchen was installed. Within 1st year of use, it broke down, compressor gone. Repaired under warranty. 1 year later started causing power trip outs. Spent €320 euros on repairs to no avail. Haier didn't want to know about it. All in all, a pile of crap, apparently all made in China. NEVER EVER BUY Haier, rubbish product, rubbish after sales service.
It's the worst refrigerator we come through. Only after one and half years it needs maintenance. Our Allwin refrigerator runs for 20 years and of Voltas for 18 years without maintenance. The Haier starts noise in motor and moisture.
We brought the Haier Refrigerator 1954BR (195 LTR) black glass on May end 2018 from Khurana Electronic Khicha. The refrigerator has been creating problems in cooling from June first week and we have complain 18 June 2018 complain code ** and 2nd complain 24.08.2018 complain code ** and 3rd complain 19.09.2018 complain code **. We have been trying to call up your customer care services from last June 2018 to till date. But there is no response from the customer service department/dealer (Khurana Electronic - Khicha - Rudrapur). Every time they say that it is the wrong number or keep us on hold. Till date out of order since day one (May 2018 on word) (compressor is out of order day first). We have buy first the HAIER product and we have never buy the HAIER products. If any read the our review I have advice the do not buy the Haier product.
We brought the Haier Refrigerator HRB3654PKGE BLACK GLASS on 13 September 2017 from Vijay Sales. The refrigerator has been leaking water since a month and a half. We have been trying to call up your customer care services from last 10 days. But there is no response from the customer service department. Every time they say that it is the wrong number or keep us on hold. It has been 10 days since the complaint has been done! And now the refrigerator has gone out of warranty period.
I have a not yet 5 year old Haier 18 CF refrigerator used for overflow/beer in the basement. The fridge started going warm and not running. Local service guys identified the defrost timer as the problem. They could not find a replacement part from Haier because it was discontinued!!! They searched for aftermarket and after 2 attempts found a part that worked even though the specs were a little different or incorrectly identified. I contacted Haier to verify. They said, "Too bad. Not available." So Haier would not do anything for me except offer $150 off a new refrigerator. Hardly covers the service call. I will never buy a Haier product again! Don't be tempted to buy this brand! Walk away and buy something else. A company that knows the part is defective, changes it and discontinues replacements for a 4 yr old appliance is not worth consideration!!!
Haier refrigerator HRQ16N3 - Bought this 13 months ago didn't take the warranty because it was too expensive and when you buy something brand new and pay good money for it you expect it to last at least 5 years. Well just after the warranty ran out the refrigerator stopped cooling, I was told to unplug it for 30 seconds and it would reset. I did that and it worked for 1 week and is now not working again, I can't afford to keep loosing food and my husband is on insulin and it needs to be refrigerated, so I guess we will have to buy a new fridge. But it will not be a Haier. Worst product I ever owned.
Bought this unit (Haier 9.8 Cu Ft Refrigerator Model HA10TG31SW) Nov 2015 as a 2nd refrigerator for overflow usage. Within six months had to have a circuit board replaced. Fortunately under warranty. Two weeks ago noticed unit not cooling or freezing ice cubes. Technician came out and determined compressor not working. Spoke to Haier as compressor is covered for 5 years per warranty, right. WRONG! Was told compressor uses flammable liquid and can't be serviced and that Haier will not replace the refrigerator but instead will give a $200 rebate on another Haier or GE refrigerator. GE doesn't make the size I want and a replacement Haier will cost my about $150 more after the rebate, plus tax and shipping. What kind of warranty service is this. Could have bought a bigger unit from a more trustworthy company with the total cost I'll end up paying. I'm stuck but you can save yourself some grief by choosing another brand right at the start.
We bought the Haier refrigerator model HRQ16N3BGS, French-Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator from Home Depot on July 10, 2018. Home Depot delivered it in a timely manner on July 19, 2018. The fridge and freezer are not cooling. Our kitchen thermometer indicates that the temperature is at 62 degrees Fahrenheit. We called the Haier America Hotline about this problem and was told that a technician from Friedman's Services, San Francisco, will be out on July 23rd. The Haier America Hotline representative advised me that this is a common problem with Haier refrigerator models with exterior control panels. In the meantime, we had to throw away tons of food. I hope that this problem is fixed and that Haier should recall this model. We will never buy another Haier product.
Fridge/freezer manufactured 2015, probably purchased same year has ceased working properly, probably haven't kept paperwork as we didn't expect product to break down a few years after purchase. Trying to get hold of anybody to provide information or advice on which part is the problem since 23/6/18 has proved useless. First 2 emails completely ignored, website wants you to 'live chat' with them, but of course you can only do that during the day until 6 pm, hence trying to email, also filled in their online form which wanted a lot of information, serial number was supplied, that is how I know when it was manufactured.
The outcome of all my emails and phone calls was to be directed to company called 'Pacifica', never heard of them who will only advise that I pay 89.00 for a visit by an 'engineer', probably cheaper and better value in the long run to chuck the f/f out and buy another one by another company as Haier have shown their products to be totally unreliable, issue first raised several months ago, so has nothing to do with the heat wave we are having, which was one suggestion from a non-technical call handler, who is all you are ever going to get to speak to without paying the call out fee. Totally unimpressed with this company, its products and its customer services.
Purchased this refrigerator Model HRT21F2APP 10/12/16 w/ extended warranty. Had never heard of Haier, told GE had been bought out by them. Always bought GE appliances in past, great experience. NOT SO with this little jewel. July 2017 had to have evaporator motor AC/DC & HRI0064001776 replaced. Two mos. later had to have thermostat for defrost in freezer, water valve w/o bracket and adaptive defrost control replaced. Sept. 2017 replaced ice maker. Mfg. warranty expired in October and in April 2018 used extended warranty protection - fridge leaking water, water covering 10-12" in front of fridge, pipe that goes to ice maker had popped out causing the leak which also went under flooring in kitchen, glued it back into place. You'd think it would be fixed, Right? Nope.
Leaking again. The pipe had come loose and it was leaking again. Took it out and replaced. Had to come back one more time after that to replace the water valve for 2nd time. Now you'd think it would be fixed by now right. Wrong!! It's summer in GA., hot, humid, steamy outside but nice and cool inside except in MY refrigerator which was registering 47 degrees. Turned it higher. No change. By now the milk had soured and decided to move everything that could spoil into our 15-yr-old GE refrigerator in our garage which is used mainly to store beverages, Now this 15-yr-old refrigerator is in a hot double garage but it is registering 35 in the refrigerator and -1 in the freezer. Moved anything that could perish/spoil to this refrigerator.
The Haier refrigerator now has water, hummingbird water, 4 6-oz cans of V-8, 2 lb. pkg. of strawberries and a few jars of various condiments. After moving all of the perishables out the Haier is down to 34 degrees but has almost nothing in it. Also the freezer has long icicles in back of freezer where vent is and most everything in it is covered w/ frost. The same repairman who has been here 8? times just left. He is ordering 2 parts to see if that will fix the freezer icicles and keep the refrigerator operating. You know the extended warranty is supposed to expire in October 2018.
I did not read the extended warranty very well when being offered to purchase because if they replace it will terminate this extended warranty and will have to purchase "NEW" extended warranty for replacement plus will not exceed original price of fridge (ok) minus taxes, fees, and ANY PREVIOUS CLAIMS PAID by extended warranty. AND may be required to ship or deliver the defective refrigerator PRIOR to receiving any authorized reimbursement. It does not specify where you ship or deliver it to but two 70 yr-seniors are not going to be loading a fridge. The What Is Not Covered runs from A to P. Frustration is mild to what I'm feeling today. Never again will I purchase a Haier product and never again will I purchase an extended warranty w/o looking it over from cover to cover. Are things just not made as well as they once were???
I purchased the small 14.6 cu.ft. fridge from Lowe's just over a month ago to replace a similar small one that had quit after five years. The new fridge quit overnight. Returned it to Lowe's (I had a very good experience with the store). Got another one. It went out after two weeks! Again returned it. The third one went out after two weeks. Very frustrating. I wracked my brain to figure out the problem. I even had my new wiring re-checked by a licensed electrician again. Finally, after reading other reviews, have decided that because there is TOO LITTLE INSULATION in this fridge and it is installed in a cubby hole with two outside uninsulated walls, that during cold weather the fridge behaves as though it is outdoors on a cold day. Good grief. Do not recommend. Got another brand of fridge that is working in that location just fine.
Do not recommending buy "Haier" refrigerators. They not cooling off enough. So cheap product. Waste of money. When I purchase they don't have shelf in the freezer. I have to order separately + 50.00$.
Went out last year and Lowe's gave us the name of the service people. They came but we didn't get the light but for 2 months and now it's happening again. But this time can't get a serviceman. Never again will I buy this brand!
I had saved money for almost a year to get a new much needed refrigerator. So after saving I bought a Haier refrigerator from Lowe's and not 3 months later it stopped working (the starter relay). Then after waiting months for that part when I finally got it the power board had gone out. So it was a huge financial hit to my family as I'm on disability raising four children. We have been having to use an extremely small dorm room refrigerator and I don't have the extra money to buy another one.
Of the mark HAIER. I bought a refrigerator and a washer. WHAT A MISTAKE... 6 months into service first the refrigerator went bust something the motor. Took in for service. They kept it for a month and when back it was the same a week later. Then was the washer by the 8th month same history they didn't know how to fix it. I was offer a "GOODWILL CERTIFICATE". THERE'S NO GOODWILL ON TRYING TO HONOR YOUR END OF THE BARGAIN MR. **. No wonder trump had it with them. End of story I had to go and get me new appliances. Terrible company. Don't buy appliances if you expect to keep them for more than 6 months.
What a piece of JUNK!!! Lasted 2 years and 9 months... The first one lasted a day. The second lasted 2 years and 9 months. What kind of products do they have??? Just for the service guy to come out was $75 then the repair cost could be $300+. Bottom line is that this product will NOT LAST!!! Be smart do not buy it!!! I thought Lowe's was better than Home Depot. I guess I was wrong. They carry junk as far as I am concerned. Look at the other reviews not just mine. Are we all lying? I think not. Have to say I am very disappointed in Haier and Lowe's.
We bought a 10.5 cubic foot refrigerator on sale at Lowe's and followed the instructions to reverse the door opening. After struggling for over an hour to reinstall the door, we found that the screw holes were drilled 1/8 of an inch too close to the outside of the door frame. Now the gasket will not seal when the hinge is secured in place. Now we cannot reverse the door opening. If this is the kind of products they produce, I won't be purchasing their products again, and will make my dissatisfaction known on social media.
Ten months ago, I purchased a Haier refrigerator from Lowe's. This week the refrigerator does not work at all and the light burnt out. It was a nightmare to get it repaired. When I tried to call for repair, one of the representatives said that a service would come out and repair the refrigerator. She said that I was on the schedule to get a repair the next day between 8:00-5:00. I took off work and called to find out the "window" of when the service will be arriving. When I called, the representative said that the service was rejected. How could it have been rejected when she said that I was ON the schedule? No one called me to let me know that it was rejected.
I emailed a copy of the Model number and a copy of the proof of purchase. The representative today said that the service that they scheduled me for does not repair in my area. WHAT? Why was it scheduled then? I'm very upset because I took off work for nothing. I should have been notified of the change. I am very disappointed in the lack of service that I have received from this company and I will not be purchasing products from this company in the future if the service is so hard to come by. Thousand dollar refrigerators should not break so easily.
Bought from Lowe's. Reviews were okay. Went to other sites and poor reviews - same as my experience. Machine just failed in short order... Haier guarantee parts but not labor! Will try to get parts and get repaired - but what a nightmare! Do not buy!!!
Bought this small 2-door refrigerator at Wal-Mart for the bedroom for when company comes, or when I have overflow from my other refrigerator. I only had it a year and a half when suddenly it stopped working. I didn't realize it at first because when I opened the door, the light was still working. I had it stocked with spiral ham, chicken, hamburg, sausage, etc, not to mention all the vegetables, salad, pounds of butter I lost. I would have expected for this to last more than a year and a half.
BOUGHT A HAIER FRIDGE FROM LOWE’S FEB 25 2016, HAD LESS THAN ONE YEAR AND IT WENT OUT. After a couple of weeks a tech came and put hard start kit on it, now less than 5 months later it is out again, food had to be thrown out and now out of warranty… Is there any class action law suits against this ** company and why is a company like Lowe’s selling and putting their name together with this horrible company??
Lost everything in fridge. One month after warranty ran out. Had one year one month. I'm disabled and can't afford another. I advice never buy Haier products. Biggest rip off! Someone should do something about the company.
After receiving my American style fridge freezer, I was more than happy with it. Until 5 months later it was to break down, when the gas leaked out and left a substance which leaked on to the bottom of my fridge. And also had to happen on the hottest part of the year May/June and close to a bank holiday. And resulted in 13 days without our fridge freezer, in which resulted in having to throw away all our food and ongoing milk being thrown away which totalled approx. £180.00. I have today just received our new replacement fridge freezer fingers crossed this will last much, much longer. My husband phoned Haier to report our loss of food on 5th June 17 to be told we could not be compensated for our loss. NOT HAPPY is an understatement. Haier this was not our fault and feel let down by your company.
Purchased my Haier refrigerator 15 mos. ago. Lowes provides no warranty. Called Haier. They will warranty parts only. The larger part of the bill is the $150 per service call fee and then $60 per hour. I can now see after reviewing this site, Lowes & Haier are known for junk appliances. Note; don't buy from Lowes or Haier.
My Haier fridge is not cooling, it seems is the compressor. After only 2 years. We are disappointed. Suddenly One day not cooling anymore. We don't use it too much since we are out of home mostly. Try other.
Haier refrigerator HT18S45SB - We bought the refrigerator on 9-2014. This is 1-2017 and we have had to buy 2 door handles. The company does not even make the handles anymore, I had to get it off of Amazon. Of course the insurance I bought did not cover the handles. I will never buy another one.
I purchased a refrigerator 16 months ago at Lowe's. It has stopped getting cold top and bottom. The company and Lowe's both say "Too bad, your problem. We give a 1 year warranty." If they believed in their product they would give a better warranty. Please read the reviews people. This product is JUNK. STAY AWAY!!! Don't buy from Lowe's either. They will not stand behind anything they sell.
Bought a Haier refrigerator Dec of 2015. The handle broke off about 4 months later. Took two months to get a new one and LOTS of grief. Finally I said just send the handle and I'll figure out how to put it on! NOW... exactly two weeks after the one year warranty is up, it has stopped cooling. I had my last GE for literally 20 years. Wish I'd kept it and had IT repaired. DO NOT BUY A PRODUCT OF THIS COMPANY!!!
It has been dependable for the past 13 yrs. although it's time for another one since the facing around the item is getting frayed. Although small, it is right for a single member household. The compartments fit the bill for everything I need. I have never had to have this refrigerator serviced and it keeps the cold.
Lowe's salesman told us the Haier would be great in our garage here in Idaho so we feel duped. When Mom's old refrigerator/freezer from the '70s finally died we got a Haier from Lowe's. (Actually, Mom's didn't "die." It was still cooling but it had to work very hard and it seemed hot in the back so we were afraid it might be unsafe.) The Haier has been nothing but a hunk of junk in that there is very little insulation in the walls so when our weather is cold the thermostat won't even tell it to come on. We put heavy insulated blankets on it but short of wrapping the whole unit, this didn't work well. Probably should just open the doors and let our super cold weather cool the unit! Ha Ha! I would definitely advise against getting a Haier. I am a Home Economist. I should have done my research.
I purchased a Haier refrigerator in July 2016 online under Walmart. It has been 5 months, the refrigerator started freezing up in the freezer part. The Haier company associate I talked to tried to give me a phone # to a repair service that I would have to haul it to and get repaired myself, then I explained to him that is nowhere close to a repair service he was trying to tell me. Then he ck and told me that he was sending me a form to fill out by e-mail that I never received. This is the most ridiculous company I ever heard of. I am reporting this company to Better Business Bureau online... I put this on my Walmart card...
I purchased a Haier Refrigerator when my fridge of 15 years broke down 17 months ago. As of Thursday it has been freezing everything in it! I called 5 different repair services and no one is able to repair it. It is made in China and not warrantied. DO NOT buy their products!!! You will be sorry! I have been calling them for 4 days with no resolution. I purchased it at HHGregg, DO NOT purchase anything from them either. They have poor customer service! It's Christmas time and I am unemployed and now have to purchase a new refrigerator.
I purchased a refrigerator (Haier model # HA10TG31FB) in February 2015. Worked very good until November 2016 just stopped getting cool. Unfortunately I did not get a warranty on this product (thinking to myself: no not a brand new refrigerator from an highly recommendable store would last for at least 5 years) which I take full responsibility of. Here is where all the BAD and Worst EXPERIENCE I have ever had in my entire life begin. I called the actually company Haier in reference to this matter, which I was informed by one of the sale representative of The Haier Company that for someone to come out there to look at it. I would be responsible for the house call since the refrigerator was not under a brought warranty from their company which I understood once again.
She also explained to me what was covered under their 2 year warranty for their company if an appliance was brought of theirs. That if the reason for the appliance was not working and it was not a man error stating something like a compressor or internal that had just went out that they would be responsible for the part only and not for the actual labor of the repair to the appliance. Very upset once again because a BRAND NEW REFRIGERATOR to go out in less than 2 years very unacceptable. The Company did recommend 3 different company that they had in their listing to come out to do a diagnostic testing that was in my area. So of course I contacted all three places they gave me... Unfortunately they no longer work on them type of refrigerators.
So therefore called back to the Haier Company and was advised to find someone myself, and pay for the service call, and then get back with them. I contacted a reliable Appliance Repair Place that come out and do house call in my area and after paying him $67.89 was advised by him that I had a bad compressor. Again I called the Haier Company back and was advised that they would have to speak with the technician also very understandable so have him to give us a call. Okay. So I had to find someone to work on the appliance, pay them to come out and do a diagnostic test, and then have them to call the company to inform them what was found. Not The Haier Company call the actual company. So of course I did.
After he spoke with them and explain what he had found. Several hours later I called the company back to see if they had spoke with the Appliance Repair place that I had found and of course they had. So when was someone going to call me and inform me. "Well we need to have someone else to come out there and look at it and do a diagnostic test." Absolutely not unless you are going to pay someone else to come out here again. His response "no we cannot pay." "Not a problem can I please speak with your supervisor sir." The supervisor who got on the phone was Buo and he explained to me that no one else would have to come out there but one of their technician would need to speak with the repair technician. Not a problem but it is 5:45 pm on a Friday. When this could have been taken care of earlier and resolved.
So of course me being the consumer have to go all weekend with no refrigerator and three little kids and over $100.00 of food thrown out. Thanks So much Haier supervisor. I bet you will go home and get you a cold drink out of your refrigerator. He stated the first thing Monday morning he will work on it. Monday morning nothing have I heard until I called a little after lunch and he stated "oh we did call but the technician will not be in until after 4:30. SO what do y'all need." Just a diagnostic report. Well he called and gave one on Friday and he gave me a receipt stating what the problem was. "Ms. ** you can just send in that receipt and that will be good." NO NO NO. So on Friday why could this have not been done.
Well after all of that of course I am on day 8 NO REFRIGERATOR and no food. This is a very poor excuse for any type of Appliance Head Quarters. Never have I ever been treated as though I was less than a human being. So of course now since the part is on back order and it will take 21 days to get to me they will give a refund but there is a 20% off of regular price each year that is deducted. That is when you send the receipt. SO now the hunt for the receipt. A company with such poor communication skills should never been allowed to operate or sell any appliance in the USA. Very Very Very dissatisfied consumer.
Don't buy Haier! I spent $2,200 on a large fridge/freezer unit. Within 6 months, it overheated, and I had to get a repairman in to replace some faulty units in the door. It worked fine for a little while after that, but now it has started simply not cooling every three months. Of course the continual problems started out of warranty. Everything in my fridge is currently room temperature, and although items in the drawers are still frozen, the freezer unit says the temperature is 13 degrees. Each time, it costs me $142 in service charges, plus any parts.
If you take into account all of the food that has been thrown out to date, plus what I will need to throw out now as they cannot get here until tomorrow morning, my fridge/freezer unit has already cost me around $3,000. It's a piece of ** and I will never buy Haier products again. I have also made many social media posts warning others to never buy them either. I have made a separate post about the piece of ** dishwasher that I bought at the same time and have used for a grand total of three times before it died.
Haier HRF-663 DT A2 refrigerator. Have purchased this refrigerator a huge 1 last year for 60K and now I have pay for repairs 7k as 1st year is just over. It's really disgusting after buying a product with warranty of 11 yrs. I have to pay such huge amount. Am sure it's a defective product but Haier is not ready to replace. Won't buy Haier ever again. DO NOT BUY HAIER EVER.
I purchased a Haier refrigerator less than 2 years ago and I am now purchasing my 4th refrigerator handle. We have no children at home and there is no reason outside of a defect for this handle breaking off. I'm very disappointed in the noise and the temperature control of this refrigerator as well. I will NOT buy another Haier.
We bought a Haier refrigerator 2 years ago and have nothing but problems with it. First of all, when we bought the refrig at Lowe's they did not mention that the refrigerator cannot be put in a garage because the freezer will not stay cold under 50 degrees. I had called Haier customer service and the first thing the agent asked was "Is it in a garage?" That's when I found out about the refrigerant not working under 50 degrees. So during the winter we must remove all frozen food until the warmer weather. Then recently we have been having issues with the refrigerator not staying cold. It seems the freezer is not creating enough cool air to feed into the refrig. I am actually afraid to call Haier and report the problem for fear of getting pushed off and ignored. I will not be buying a Haier product again.
My Haier mini fridge has decided to start freezing all of my food. I guess that I was lucky because it appears my fridge lasted a little longer than most of the folks writing these reviews. I did have other problems through the life of the refrigerator such as the plastic piece which keeps the freezer door attached break, so I had to super glue it back together. The freezer would also grow ice at an astounding rate especially in the humid season. Luckily, I live in Arizona and was able to bring it outside to melt off real quick. I was thinking about giving this refrigerator to someone to fix, but as I see this will be a wasteful task. So goodbye Haier, never again.
I bought this frig at Smith City on 6th June. Yesterday we noticed a terrible smell and the frig had stopped running cold and was running hot, everything had gone off. I took photos of the meat and stuff and sent an email to Haier with no reply. I tried to phone them several timers and just can't get through. At last a man at Smith city got through and an agent is coming next Friday, so in the meantime we go without a frig. What sort of service is this. The frig was bought in good faith.
Bought this unit 12/21/2015. Compressor stopped working. Have called Haier twice. Service was supposed to contact me within 48 hours. Hasn't happened yet. Tried tracking my repair order. Doesn't exist.
Had not owned the refrigerator 2 weeks and bottom of handle came off refrigerator. When I called Lowe's, I was transferred to Haier company. Lowe's is not allowed to service Haier refrigerators. I had bought an extended service contract on the item. Haier would not send someone out to fix it. The rep said they would send the part to me and I would have to fix it. Not the way to do business, plus, the rep was very hard to understand.
I purchased a Haier Mini Fridge a few years ago from Wal-Mart. Worked fine for the first year, but now it makes this annoying shaking sound when it's cooling that makes it a horrible idea for near where you sleep. Something is shaking so bad inside it that I am ready to take a baseball bat to it. I will never purchase another Haier product for as long as I live.
BUYER BEWARE. We purchased a Haier Fridge for our home in Costa Rica through PriceSmart (similar to Costco, etc). It was a bottom fridge with french doors that looked great. Within a year (after the guarantee expired ), the paint on the handles and edges of the doors wore off, the fridge froze food, made noises and the french door closure broke. We had repair man come out many times and have not been able to find repair parts for the french door closure. A very beautiful looking fridge but THE WORST refrigerator that I ever had. Finally giving up on it. DON'T BUY one.
I purchased a Haier refrigerator from Lowe's in Aug 2015. It is not cold & my food is defrosted. I contacted Lowe's for warranty repair & was told that Haier handles their own warranty issues & they transferred me to them. I was connected to a gentleman that could barely speak English & it took me more than half an hour to actually get to the point that I had to contact a repair company – Appliances Unlimited for a service call.
I called them & was told that they had to receive a ticket from Haier to schedule. They did call me back & said they could come 1 week from today. I explained that this is a refrigerator & what do I do to keep my food for a week. Basically, they said nothing. I called back Haier to see if there was another company for service & was told they would have someone get back to me within 3 business days. That would be a Friday & I still would not get a service call until next week. When I brought this to the rep's attention, she did not have an answer. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY HAIER APPLIANCES. I called back Lowe's to make them aware of service problems on appliances they sell & they said there was nothing they could do about it. I will never purchase any appliance from Lowe's or Haier again.
Like everyone else the freezer freezes up and fridge gets hot. What do we do just let them sell this JUNK. Lowe's should also be held accountable. They still sell product and know that it is JUNK. I will not EVER shop at Lowe's again until they drop this brand and at the least buy me $100.00 worth of food and apologize.
We purchased an apartment sized refrigerator in Feb 2016. After installing in our 'stationary' RV and plugging in the unit cooled the freezer to just above freezing the first day, cooled even less the second day and stopped running altogether the third day. Because of health problems involving hospitalizations and numerous Dr. visits we did not call for warranty service until April 4, 2016.
We were informed that being installed in a vehicle voided the warranty. Telling them the 'vehicle' was stationary and our full time residence was rejected. The warranty states "this warranty does not cover the following: damage from use other than household." Informing them the RV IS our household fell on deaf ears. After reading the other reviews here I certainly will never purchase another product made by Haier under any name.
I'm not one to rant online when something goes awry, but after being on the phone with Haier for the last 30 minutes; I had to share my story. My boyfriend bought me a black Haier 1.7 cu ft mini-fridge for Christmas 3 months ago. It stopped working today. I went to the user manual, and completed the troubleshooting steps provided. It didn't work. I went to the limited warranty section, and called the number listed.
The first gentleman I spoke to took all of my information, and noted that I had registered the fridge online like you're supposed to. However, he told me my fridge was not covered because it was located in my office. I told him that was not mentioned in the warranty section which I read in its entirety. I also explained to him that I was the only one who used it; that it was not a community fridge. It's in a small room with me by itself. He stood his ground, so I asked to speak to his supervisor who told me the same thing. I asked to speak to the next level up, and it wasn't until then that I was told the fridge was under warranty since I was the only one who used it. It took 3 people and 30 minutes of aggravation to get that answer. Not only that... I have to take it in myself to Smithfield which is 45 minutes away. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy from Haier again. I'm taking this straight to the dump.
My husband and I purchased a Haier refrigerator in August of 2015. Less than five months later, our food in the fridge began to stink and the kids were complaining that the milk was warm. NO COLD AIR was making it to the refrigerator section even though the freezer was full of ice and you could hear the compressor. We called Lowe's where we had purchased it. They told us that fridge was only guaranteed by them for thirty days (never told that at time of purchase).
After two more calls to Lowe's, we were finally given the contact number of Haier's. Haier's claimed that they had no service technicians in our area, but they would send one to our house in two to three days. We are still waiting - over a month later!! We have lost lots of food and are dependent on an old freezer and fridge in our garage. This company is a joke and I will never buy another thing from Lowe's since they are selling such inferior items. The booklet that comes with the refrigerator clearly states it is a "frost-free appliance" - what a lie!
Junk is too good a word to describe this brand refrigerator. I bought this fridge April 2015, around Thanksgiving, the bottom stopped cooling. It's now Feb 2016, and this morning the bottom door handle broke off. After reading comments on this thread, I realize I'm not alone. I will NEVER under any circumstances buy anything with name Haier attached to it.
I purchased a portable refrigerator in March 2015. Started using it in September and it will not come on. Also, I purchased it from Lowes. I do blame the distributor as well as the manufacturer because there are too many complaints to continue to sell these defective products. They should demand better from the manufacturer. I will not recommend nor purchase this brand ever again.
BUYER BEWARE! I BELIEVE HAIER IS MANUFACTURING A PIECE OF JUNK THAT'S DISGUISED AS A REFRIGERATOR. Like a previous reviewer, I thought Haier was a German company with a good reputation. As it turns out, it's a Chinese company and it's manufacturing a terrible product. Purchased this 20 cu ft Haier refrigerator from Lowe's for $800. I won't buy appliances from Lowe's ever again. They don't stand by what they sell.
Lowe's passed me off to the U.S. Haier customer service folks once the unit stopped cooling after just 3 months. The service folks responded quickly and arranged a repair. It took 10 days to get a Haier certified repair person to get here. When he did arrive, he basically told us that he is seeing a lot of this problem with this particular brand. Problem is, this refrigerator is not frost free. The freezer frosts up quickly and causes the compressor to stop working. Basically, there is no fix.
Consequently, we are suffering the never ending cycle of freezing, seizing up, warming and melting then slowly cooling yet never getting cold enough to keep food from spoiling once the freezer compartment frosts up. What a piece of garbage this unit is. We keep losing perishable food. This has been a terrible experience. Waste of time, effort and money. DON'T BUY A HAIER unless they address these issues and start manufacturing a better product!!!
We purchased a Haier refrigerator from Lowe's 5/3/2014. When the installer attached the plastic handle with metal screws, I heard a cracking noise, but did not see any visible damage. Then shortly afterwards, a hairline crack developed near where the metal screws attached handle to refrigerator. Then yesterday, when opened the refrigerator, the handle came off of the refrigerator breaking where the screws went through the plastic handle. I called Haier, and we could purchase a new handle. I told them that it was a flaw in the design to have metal screws through plastic that near a joint. They repeated that all they could do was to SELL me a new part, and would never admit that is was a faulty design.
BUYER BEWARE! Our company bought a small refrigerator 4 months ago for our business in Temecula. The compressor has since stopped! I called the manufacturer to report this, and I was informed that the warranty was only for 3 months for a commercial unit. Convenient right? They sent out a service technician who wants to charge $268 to put in a new compressor! I would never recommend this brand to anyone plus the company has the worst customer service ever!
I had the Haier refrigerator about 4 months and the handle broke off. I glued it and it came off again. Then about 8 months later the fridge starting get warm, and the freezer was ice cold. So I call about it and of course my warranty had expired about 2 weeks prior.
I purchased this Haier Dorm Size Refrigerator in July 2015 from Walmart. It's only been 6 months and I'm having problems with it. It freezes up with ice on a setting of 1 and the bottom items (juices or water) doesn't get cold because of this problem! It's so annoying because it MUST be defrost every two weeks. Stay far Away From this name Haier. It was my first purchase using this name and it's my last!
We have been married 48 years and have always had a Sears refrigerator. This time we went to Lowe's and bought a Haier since this store was closer. BAD MISTAKE. We bought it in November and bought the extended warranty. In June, the handle broke off, we fixed it with glue. In August, the freezer was not defrosting and the refrigerator was not keeping the food cold. It took a week to get a repairman to come out on September the 4 to fix it and in the meantime, we lost all our food. Ten days later, the freezer quit working and everything defrosted. Also the food is not staying cold. Again, a loss of food and a week before someone comes out. We have NEVER had anything like this. I do not know what the order number is. We just wanted to let the BUYER BEWARE of Haier. We should have stayed with Sears.
Same thing as most people have stated - undependable, not frost-free, freezes things if not insulated against it. Now just died with lost food going in the trash. Limited warranties stores sell are generally crap, just another income stream. What I do know is when you complain don't call the store - it's useless. In 10 seconds you can Google and find the store CEO's email and phone and go there. You won't get the CEO but the people in their office don't want someone calling there daily as I tell them I'm about to do! I got back $2,400 from Home Depot on a 4 yr old lemon refrigerator and still have the refrigerator which had an unusable door mounted ice maker. We have to stand up for today's total lack of striving for excellence!
I purchased a Haier refrigerator from Lowe's in October 2014. In January 2015 (three months after purchase), the unit began going through cycles where everything in the refrigerator would freeze. A technician came out and diagnosed the problem. A new thermostat was ordered, and the unit was fixed or so I thought.
Fast forward to July 2015 (nine months after purchase), the unit broke down a second time in less than one year. The unit was not cooling; the freezer was 40 degrees and the refrigerator was 60 degrees. The repair company contracted by Haier became difficult to work with. They would not answer their phone or return voice mail messages. They kept the refrigerator 19 days, five days after confirming that it was fixed. The unit was returned with scratches and a two inch dent in the front door.
Haier was no help in relieving my concerns that I had a faulty unit nor helping me get satisfactory service. Haier refused to replace the unit and they refused to allow me to use a different repair company. They also declined to extend the warranty, and went as far as saying the unit works with a dent. So far it is working, but based on history, I'm not confident it will last for long. Save yourself the heartache that will come if you purchase one and don't do it.
Purchased a Haier fridge from HHGregg in April, 2015. Handle fell off after 4 months. Had to send Haier pictures before they will repair fridge. What kind of stupid stuff is this. Sent pictures twice. Do not buy refrigerators from HHGregg. They will not repair it, but will refer you to the manufacturer.
I purchased a Haier Refrigerator in 2014. It wasn't our main refrigerator only a backup that we kept in the garage. The reason I purchased a Haier refrigerator was because of the freezer light and I liked the way it looked. However, a year later I noticed the freezer wasn't keeping food items cold. Soon afterwards, I noticed the refrigerator compartment wasn't keeping items cold either. I called Haier and then found a service man to come to my home and check it out. He checked it out and discovered the coolant had leaked and collected into a ball of ice. He took pictures and sent the information back to Haier. Haier said they would refund my purchase from Lowe's. I purchased another refrigerator and am waiting for credit from Haier. I would purchase another Haier product but they need to make minor manufacturing adjustments before I do that.
June 17, 2014, I bought from Lowes, a Haier refrigerator thinking it was a European product, since have learned it is Chinese. From then until 1 year later, their repairman came 5 times for the same problem which was never completely resolved. I called 6/26/2015 with the same complaint and was offered a 1 time courtesy repair. As of now 7/19/2015 the repairman will not answer my calls, 3 times Haier has said someone will call me and they haven't. Lowe's was told there was no service records available when they were going to assist me. I have a receipt but don't know how to send it in an email. This has been a nightmare, lost food.
Sadly, I agree with all of comments that I have read about poor quality, noise, etc. I bought a 3.3 Cu fridge/freezer compact unit for my college son in summer of 2013 from Best Buy. It no longer keeps items cold enough no matter the setting. Bought a refrigerator thermometer and will not cool to proper safe zone. Manufacturer will do nothing. Haier states warranty only good for 1 year. Will provide # for service but I need to pay for repairs on our dime. Have my husband's fridge from the mid 70's which still works great. We thought we were buying a more energy efficient unit, instead it is just another item for the waste. Very disappointed. Do not recommend.
Just purchased a Haier refrigerator two weeks ago. Freezer works fine but two weeks later fridge part stopped working. Defrosted everything and put it back on and still not working. I've read all these complaints and see I should have done my homework before buying this unit. I have copied all these complaints and contacted Consumer Affairs for their history and have turned the information over to my son who works for the senate. Let's see what happens.
I purchased a refrigerator which within several months the noise from opening the door at the hinge was unbearable. It was so loud it could wake people up. I figured it was no problem because it was under warranty. I called in the issue they sent a service man who fixed the issue by greasing it. That fixed it for about 3 months. The sound came back louder than before. I called customer service and they told me my refrigerator was no longer under warranty. I stated this is the same issue that has returned and was never fully fixed. They said they couldn't help me any further.
So now I have a less than 2 year old fridge with this issue. I would think they should cover the issue since it was first reported under warranty less than a year ago, while they tried to fix the issue it was never resolved. I cannot recommend Haier as a good product. I feel this customer support isn't good, and I cannot put my trust in their product if they cannot stand behind it. This is likely a defect from manufacture, and while it was reported under warranty they offer no service when the same issue returned within a few months.
Purchased a Haier fridge on 6/14/2013. Yes it would freeze the stuff on top shelf also but it went out 1 wk after having only 2 yrs. Been fighting with the warranty co. 11 days later they said it was my well water causing the problem. The sulfur gas in the air eating up the tubing. WHAT!! I have never heard of that in my life. The tubing is so thin because they make junk... And they're not going to cover it after paying for the extended warranty. I do not have a water line on my fridge. And yes it is very loud running. I will never buy anything you make again and I will never buy an extended warranty from any co.
I purchased this refrigerator in December 2014. Less than 6 months after it needed repairs. Not once but twice and here now again the refrigerator is not cooling again. The freezer works fine, but all my refrigerated food spoiled yet again 3 dozen eggs, 2 half gallons of almond milk, a gallon of skim milk, deli ham and turkey, broccoli, peppers, green leaf lettuce, etc. (The 3rd time in a year and half.) This refrigerator is HORRIBLE!!
I Do NOT recommend this fridge to anyone!! For $700+ a refrigerator should last longer than a year and a half! Throwing away spoiled food 2-3 times a year for a family of 5 is unfair and unnecessary. We just replenished our fridge not knowing it was going to break and EVERYTHING went bad!!! I am not happy! This fridge is a headache. Haier products are a headache. I DO NOT recommend Haier!!!!! Spend a little more, but get something dependable like Frigidaire or Whirlpool, But DON'T GET HAIER!!!!
I am sick after reading the other reviews. Soda pop froze on top shelf for starters, yet lettuce was warm down in lowest box. Only got by for about 2 years... bought the 4 year extended protection... can't believe Lowe's is not aware of the hardship this company is causing! I was told it would be two weeks till a third party repairman would look at this mess.
Bought a Haier refrigerator for my daughter to use in the dorm at college. After two months in operation it would freeze all food items regardless of their location ie. refrigerator or freezer section. Couldn't do much about it at the time since she was 1,100 miles away. Told her to just turn it off and don't use until after school year and we brought it home to look at it. Well, needless to say, she was correct, the refrigerator does not work correctly. Couldn't do anything regarding warranty because I couldn't find sales receipt which Haier required. So, being a handy guy tried to repair myself, thought for sure it was a bad thermostat. But after replacing same ole same ole I've decided to cut my losses and properly dispose of this Haier product.
After reading countless complaints on this site, I figured it's a lost cause. I cannot figure out how this company can still be in business. I will NEVER purchase another Haier product again. I didn't do much research on Haier before purchase because I figured it's a low priced small refrigerator for a college student to use. What a POS refrigerator. I would not recommend this company's products. They should be out of business.
I bought an 18cb Haier refrigerator on 22/12/10, from GMAR Home Furnishers Ltd., Golden Grove Rd Arouca. Cost $5896.00. The item was delivered the next day in a sealed box. After carrying it four floors up and opening it I saw that there was no crisper. I called the store and enquired and was told that's how they came and I will have to purchase the crisper and a shelf elsewhere. I asked them to come take their product as that was not what I was shown at the store. They promised to come. After two weeks they never did and after numerous phone calls they could not tell me where to buy the missing parts. After six months I noticed that the rubber around the freezing compartment started breaking off.
Needless to say the freezer (no frost) began freezing over and I had to defrost it every two weeks. To this day I have this problem and on many occasions have to call in a repair man. I have checked all appliance part shops and cannot find parts for this fridge. Sometimes when you get up during the night there is water leaking out on the floor. I am tired of this and hope someone can help with this issue. Thank you. Model HTA18 floor. There are also rust spots on the body as early as three months. Was purchased under my daughter's name **.
We also bought a Haier refrigerator from HH Gregg and, after 16 months, are having the same problem with iced up freezer compartment and no refrigeration in the fridge compartment. We have an extended warranty on it and after the usual phone run around from HH Gregg and Haier we got through to a local warranty repair person. He has honestly tried to diagnose and fix the problem and has even consulted with Haier "Tech Support". The warranty service person is trying to resolve the problem but after reading these reviews I honestly don't believe he will be able to fix the problem. I think we have purchased our LAST piece of Haier junk.
We bought the Haier refrigerator about 12 months ago for building apartment just on April 11. Problem - not cooling according to my tenant, motor was making some noises and stop working. I know I cannot blame the distributor. Poor quality.
HRF-628DF6 American Style - Got this fridge delivered yesterday, left it 5 hours before turning it on and ever since it's beeped, like the door alarm keeps going off. The doors firmly shut, it's level - nothing's in the way. Rang customers support - they're sending someone Monday (today being Friday) soo noisy weekend ahead. The overall design and layout's good, it looks nice, it's a good size. The controls are easy to to work and control (except the beeping no way that can stop!). Tried googling and phoning other fridge engineers in area. Can't fault Haier - they are sending someone and I was contacted by the Haier engineer within minutes of phoning to book the appointment. Fingers crossed as it's a lovely fridge!
It was repair after repair for the lemon Haier Refrigerator we bought at Lowes 2 years and a few weeks ago. Soon after the last repair the warranty ran out but the refrigerator started icing up again. My husband is a handyman and knows how to regulate appliances and understands how most things work. We bought a big brand name refrigerator and it was delivered yesterday. They took the 2-yr. old Haier Lemon back. I hope they do not refurbish it for some other poor sap!
Seven months ago we purchased a Haier refrigerator from Lowe's department store. At the time we took out Lowe's 3-year protection plan in addition to having Haier's 1 year manufacturer's warranty. We were led to believe that we were fully covered for all but malicious damage on our part. If something broke within that period then it would be replaced at no cost to us. How wrong we were...
Earlier today the handle to the refrigerator door broke in half in my hand as I was simply attempting to open the door. We promptly called Lowe's to discuss replacement. They said that our protection plan didn't cover that part and that the manufacturer's warranty should. So we called Haier only to find out that that specific part... the door handle... was only covered for 30 days past the date of purchase. Let's just say you didn't want to be the person on the other end of the line when they told us that. As it is we ended up paying for a replacement part from Lowe's for just under $33.00 US and we won't get the part for another 7 to 10 business days as the part is on backorder... Go figure.
What I gathered from all this is: Low quality plastic is used in the manufacture of this refrigerator, Haier is aware of the part's low quality which is why they won't cover it past 30 days, Haier is misleading in letting marketers and thereby consumers believe they provide a 1 year warranty on all parts... The Lowe's representatives I spoke with were unaware that certain parts were not fully warrantied up to 1 year. Haier is making a killing off replacement parts as this door handle wasn't cheap and is in enough demand to be on backorder. Just thought people should be wary when buying products from this company. Initial savings might turn out to be more costly in the long run.
The refrigerator was so blasted small. Next to the refrigerator freezer, there is a big protrusion (obviously part of the motor). You can get very, very little in it. Wished I had looked before purchasing. It lasted 16 months. It was just dead this morning. Piece of crap. I won't buy this brand again. My coworker has had a Magic Chef refrigerator that is physically the same size, but without the internal loss of space to the motor. I asked him when he bought it. It was his wife's in college. It has been around since 1989. I wonder if Magic Chef even makes refrigerators anymore. Anyway... I will buy nothing by Haier ever again. I am glad I didn't buy the year's extended warranty or I'd have gotten screwed twice!
Plastic door bin on Haier refrigerator simply broke. Made of very flimsy acrylic, not polycarbonate. Refrigerator only 7 years old, but Haier has no replacement parts. Internet search on part number RF-0500-113 finds no parts anywhere in the country. I am unable to fix this refrigerator. I will either have to live with a broken fridge, or buy a new one. Haier is "very sorry". I will never buy another Haier product. Be forewarned.
We bought this refrigerator at Lowe's because Haier claims that it's frost free. We have used our fridge for 6 months and the frost free doesn't work. It keeps frosting over. The freezer is full of ice and that blocks the cold air from being blown into the fridge. We have to defrost it every 2 weeks otherwise we lose all our food in the fridge (this already happened twice). We have read the reviews on Haier products and their refrigerators seem to all have the same problem. We are very disappointed in their product. Here's a picture of the freezer. We DO NOT recommend buying this brand at all!!!
Refrigerator stopped getting cold. Completely warm and spoiling all food inside it. Freezer still works, but nothing for refrigerator. Even tried to defrost it and still nothing. All this after only purchasing it only 17 months ago. Unfortunately, after reading manual, find out only comes with 12-month warranty. We even spent extra at the store, not buying cheapest refrigerator, figuring this one might be better and last longer. And are on a tight budget, so to spend an extra $100 on a fridge to try to get a better one is very hard in us. And to break down only 5 months after a 12 month puts us in a spot. Have a pregnant fiancee, two boys - 7 and 10 - and a 1 year old daughter in which we can not even keep milk in there for them cause spoils too fast.
We do not have money to pay to have anyone to fix it or for parts, or even to pay someone to come and figure out what the problem. So as a last effort I look it up on line to see what else I could do to fix it, and see multiple people complaining about the same issue. So now stuck with the and definitely not enough to buy another one. Wouldn't care as much if it was just me, but have 2 boys, a one year old, and a fiancee who is almost 8 months pregnant..
I purchased a Haier refrigerator for the first and last time. The quality of the internal parts is very poor and although the refrigerator is only four years old, I am unable to find a replacement part. It is the flimsy plastic frame used to hold up the crisper bins and the glass shelf on the bottom. Although it is mechanically sound, I am now forced to purchase a new refrigerator because I cannot replace the broken part. I will NEVER buy a Haier product again.
I purchased a Haier refrigerator for my new condo. Space was limited so I needed the largest refrigerator that would fit in my kitchen. I have now had it for over a year and it has been perfect as my brother just bought one yesterday after he seen how happy I was with my purchase.
Our refrigerator died 7 months after our $229.00 extended warranty expired. After reading the reviews ours lasted longer than most people's. The customer service rep "JC" told me it's like buying a car, once the warranty is up there is nothing they can do...I said, "yes, but when my car breaks down I have the option to get it fix at my cost, your company no longer makes the parts to repair my refrigerator!!" I personally believe this is intentional, they stop making parts so you have to buy a new product. What this company from China is missing is that now the Haier name is considered junk & no one would be foolish enough to buy another or recommend this brand to anyone. Way to integrate your brand into the USA Haier!!!!!
Bought a Haier refrigerator from HH Gregg. Less than 2 yrs old. Fridge does not cool. Bought 10 yr compressor warranty, but am told by HH Gregg that I must have someone come out and diagnose the compressor as a problem, all labor costs on me. I've had refrigerators that have lasted 20-30 years. This one is a piece of junk. Will never buy a Haier or anything from HH Gregg again.
Had all of the previously mentioned mechanical failures. But that is where the similarity ended. Called the number in the manual and was given a repair service number. Called them and someone was out the very next morning, first thing and fixed the fridge. Everyone was VERY nice, from the first call through the repair service. Lemons happened, but I was lucky to have been served a very cool (not too cold) lemonade.
The above refrigerator is giving the following problems: (1) Freezer door does not close properly. Gasket was changed by your mechanic, but still it was not properly closed, and has leakage. Your visiting mechanic told that the door requires to be replaced, and it would take about 10 days or so to get arranged from the company. (2) Now Fridge has stopped working completely. No one is taking action against my complaint.
The visiting engineer had informed that freezer door would be replaced after receipt of the door from the company and will take about 10 days or so. The complaint has been registered in your company ID No. ** & No. ** within guarantee period. Please ensure that the above complaints are attended AT THE EARLIEST within the guarantee period. We shall not be responsible to pay any charges if the above complaints are not attended within guarantee period since the above complaints would remain standing unchecked since within the guarantee period.
Haier 20.5 Refrigerator - I purchased this refrigerator in June 15, 2014, had to wait for two weeks for delivery even paid cash, told them I wanted with Ice Maker since it was optional. When it arrived no icemaker, had to wait another few days for them to come back and bring/install. Then it was slow making ice and the freezer compartment would frost over, ice hanging. Finally after 3 weeks they replaced it with a new one. This was now July 14, 2014. It was working great until a couple of days ago it started to slow on producing ice, frosting over the things in the freezer and Ice hanging from the roof of freezer again. Then the refrigerator started to warm up to 60 degrees ruining food once again.
So today Sept 24 I call Lowe's, was told to call service. They then informed me that I wouldn't get service until October 7. Are you kidding me? I got into my car and went and talked again to the appliance manager who was aware of the problems I was having and he assured me that I would not wait. They are delivery me a new different brand refrigerator in the morning. I tried to do what was right and by American Made but this has not worked with this brand. I have never had this kind of problem before and very disappointed. However, appreciate what Lowe's has done for me. After all I did pay cash up front in the first place. I would not recommend this refrigerator to anyone, Sorry.
I purchased a new large unit June of 2014. Twice now, the freezer unit has frozen up and created an ice dam blocking the cooling of the refrigerator. Twice now, I have lost food and have had to defrost the entire unit and start again. Both times, my unit was on the recommended settings. Both times, I contacted customer server and received little to no help. Avoid this brand like the plague.
I purchased a small Haier fridge in April, 2014. I bought it on a Lowe's credit card. It made a loud noise and very shortly after purchase something was really wrong in the freezer. It was like I was in the movie ghostbusters. Unfortunately, I did nothing about it right away because it seemed to be working and I had some medical issues that required surgery and treatment. I called the customer service line and since my warranty is expired I will be responsible for the repairs. Last month we had some power surges from a storm and the freezer started icing up. I tried all the troubleshooting tricks and nothing has worked. Today the fridge stopped working completely. I guess I should have reviewed this brand before I bought, and judging by the other reviews I guess I am on my own with this. I would agree that Haier Refrigerators deserves 0 stars as a rating.
Told to purchase the wire rack at $31.12. + 6.5% sales tax shipping. I bought the Haier Refrigerator August 29 and told the shelf would be in it. Delivery August 30 with no rack. The Shelf standard with any refrigerator. Stocked meat in the freezer would block the air flow vents.
The Haier refrigerator that we bought is making a loud noise coming from the freezer. We think that it is a bad bearing but are not for sure. Called the phone number and they have not sent anybody out yet to fix it. It is only 2 months old. We bought this brand because of consumer reports rated this brand and model high.
Purchased a new refrigerator in January 2014 after our previous GE of over 30 years finally broke. The salesman at HH Gregg assured me that Haier was a good name and even produced a Consumer Reports magazine to show me recent ratings with Haier on top. I had never heard of them. Well, it is now August 2014 only 8 months after purchase and this new top-freezer refrigerator began producing a heavy frost in the freezer compartment, so much so, I could not read packages or cuts of meat. I took pictures. It was like the movie Frozen with ice and snow clinging to the products, the roof, the door plastic compartments, even the light. I took everything out, cleared the frost, and carefully repacked the freezer. The cold setting was and is still set to a moderate 4.5.
Meanwhile, we noticed the refrigerator isn't refrigerating. It's at 70 degrees now, milks and dairy all spoiled. Food is perishing as I write this. The manual had a number to call and it said service 24/7. We called last night and an automated message told us to call during regular business hours 8-8, but no time zone. Based on what I'm reading here, let the games begin. I am poised to file my complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General, and I urge all of you consumers here to do so likewise in your respective states to put a stop to this consumer fraud. I have no refrigeration now. HH Gregg won't handle this.
I want a new unit, in fact, I want a different brand. I bought this out of duress when faced with no refrigerator in January. I do not want numerous dubious repair people in and out of my house to resolve this. Both refrigerator and freezer are malfunctioning and I feel that's enough to have it removed and replaced. Attorney General. I urge you all to file complaints with yours online.
BUYER BEWARE!! AVOID! We bought a smaller refrigerator for my son to use in the basement. It did not work, called Haier Co and after having to call 3 times, they finally sent someone out. The compressor was bad - called Haier and they said that they would review this and get back with us in about a week! WTH! What is there to review? A brand new fridge with a bad compressor - inspected by someone that they sent out. Never heard anything so my husband called after week two and they said the same thing. They gave us a hard time about speaking with a supervisor - who was not helpful AND very rude.
Called again and was told to send receipt and copy of work order, (from their guy) - we did - still no call from them! Fridge sits in the corner of our basement ONE YEAR LATER!! We paid over $400 for a dust collector! I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from Haier, or any company associated with them, EVER again! As far as where we bought this POS - Lowe's and I will never buy an appliance from them again! They didn't even honor the warranty that we purchased - kept pushing us back to Horrible Haier!! Does not deserve even one star!
Buyer Beware!!!! Model HBCNO5FV5 @ Sams. Purchased July 2013, failed April 2014 - froze up. Customer service was horrible, unresponsive. Purchased 2nd Haier refrigerator as a replacement May 2014. Same issue is occurring, freezing. Shame. Love the look and design however, product is not recommended.
We purchased a Haier Refrigerator in Jan 2014 and the very next day, it stopped working so we filed a complaint and tech guy came almost after 5 days for repair. We wanted a replacement, but they did not give it. They made it and went. Again, after two months, it got spoiled and they again did not give us replacement. Now, it stopped working again since the last 3 weeks. The Haier tech guy has made it numerous times but the fridge still does not work. It will stop anytime and start anytime. We really don't know what to do and how to get it replaced. We are just fed up.
The refrigerator worked ok but the seal around the door folded in on itself and the door would pop open. I would find it open often and could not get the seal to stay down. I was thinking about getting a replacement seal but after seeing these reviews, I won't bother.
We have bought the Haier Deep Freezer Model no HDF 325 H from last 2 months back from National Refrigeration Darya Ganj Delhi. But yesterday on 16/06/2014 at around 3 pm, there is some problem and it's completely dead and not working, then I have called Haier Customer care and lodged the complaint. Haier guys response me it will be complaint sort out within 24 hours, then I requested the guys, "Please sort out the problem at earliest because I have a lot of expensive food items in freeze," but still 17/06/2014 at 18:00 nobody can sort out my problem. There are @ Rs. 25000.00 items was spoil. I have so many called to Haier guys but there is no response from Haier. It is a very bad service from Haier. I just know who will be the responsible for above my expense and my customers.
I have now as a property manager purchased many of these refrigerators and without doing research before buying such a large quantity through hhgregg, I am now having one failure after another with the freezer cutting off air flow to the refrigerator. Please don’t buy this stuff. China company, totally unresponsive. Give only 1 year warranty and have to fight for that.
Don't buy a Haier Refrigerator. The freezer is NOT frost free and when the frost builds up it shuts the air flow to the fridge off = warm fridge. Had to unplug fridge so freezer could defrost to get the refrigerator running again. Soon as we plugged it back in and adjusted the freezer temp, the freezer immediately began to frost up again. Seems we are going to have to be constantly unplugging the fridge to defrost freezer so fridge will run cold. I so wish I had checked out this fridge before I bought it. Haier even admits it doesn't keep a consistent temp. How insane is this? The most important feature of a refrigerator.
I purchased a townhome and the refrigerator was a Haier product. After a couple of months, the top freezer door would pop open when the bottom door was closed. This went on for several months with no resolution from Haier. After approximately a year, they decided to replace the refrigerator. After a year, the gasket has to be replaced. I will never buy anything from Haier. Unfortunately, this came with my townhome. This company obviously produces inferior products... So please save yourself from the frustration and purchase from the U.S.
The United States seriously needs to stop importing crap from China!! Anyone who has bought junk from Walmart knows what I am talking about! I have recently resorted to the internet to read reviews before making purchases but unfortunately, I purchased my Haier fridge before that time--passing up a similarly priced US model only because I liked Haier's glass shelves. Huge mistake! In two months, it will be 2 years since I purchased it, so warranty is up--yes, the retailer does offer extended warranties--which I waived. I almost bought a TV at the same place this past Christmas and did research this retailer's extended warranty reviews--A huge waste of money I've read so I did dodge a bullet there. I just bought refrig thermometers today. My iced over freezer is at 20 degrees turned to the lowest temp and my refrig is at 50 degrees turned at the lowest temp!
I do not hear any humming from the unit, either! I am an empty nester who lives alone so there is absolutely no way this refrigerator suffered any kind of abuse!! I have yet to call for repairs since my furnace croaked 3 weeks ago and I don't have the money to fix that yet!!! I bought this thing to replace a 30 year old US model which was still chugging away but wouldn't freeze ice cream--that was the only issue besides its age! I was told refrigerators average life is about 20 years so I thought I was pushing my luck and should consider a new one. I owned my US model the last 15 years of its life and never had to get it repaired! Regrets, regrets!! Don't they build anything to last anymore???!?!?!!? Let's band together and boycott Chinese junk!!!
We bought the fridge 3 years ago. However, after having it a little over a year (and warranty ran out) the fridge started to break apart. First off, it leaks water from the deli tray. We had tech out to 'blow' out the hoses. And it still leaks. The fridge doesn't cool. The freezer stopped working. To top it off, the compressor wore out. Haier did send us a compressor, but it did not fix the other problems. I've called Haier, they will not replace the fridge. They will not pay for the labor of tech we've had come over 2 times now.
Bought Haier refrigerator 11/14/13 at Lowe's store. 2 months later stops cooling. Called Lowes where I bought it and they said that Haier does their own warranty work. Knew I was in trouble then. Call Haier up and they send out some local appliance repair guy. He can not fix it and tells me it has a sealed system leak and to call Lowe's back. Call Lowe's but they will not do anything. They get Haier service in New Jersey on the phone. Guy name CJ states it will be 3-5 days for his Appliance Engineering Department to approve the replacement - sounds real encouraging - and then CJ states it will take 7 to 10 days to deliver the replacement refrig and take the piece of junk return refrig out of my house. If and when I ever get the replacement it is going to be donated to a local charity and I am going to buy a new refrig from a reputable company and I will not shop at Lowe's anymore either. This cost $368 but it was a lesson well learned. Do not buy anything from this Haier Company!
Our Hisense 249L, bought from a local Hong Kong shop called DSC is turning out to be a real lemon. Just 14 months after we bought our fridge, the cooling fan stopped working. And of course DSC provide poor English support so getting maintenance has been a disaster for us and much of the food has spoiled. Moral is, cheap China electronics save you money up front, but you will get an inferior product and poor if any service. I live in Hong Kong, it's no better being close to China.
I went to my French door Haier fridge yesterday to notice the fridge up the top wasn't working but the freezer was perfectly fine. On the orange LCD screen on the fridge door the fridge temp had disappeared. After stressing & cursing I started to hunt down my owners manual ready to produce to a fridge repairman that would be attending the next day. My Haier is 3 years old so I was out of warranty too. Finally I found the manual & amazingly found there's an option to turn OFF the fridge and/or the freezer by using the LCD panel on the front of the fridge. If I had not kept my instruction manual I would have either been ripped off by a repairman or had to go out & spend another $2000 on a brand new fridge. Check the manual & be knowledgeable about your fridge with using & setting the temps, etc. After you have all settings in place press the LOCK button so nobody will change settings or accidentally turn your fridge or freezer off like what happened to me. The settings for perfect temp for fridge should be 3 degrees & the freezer should be set at -18 degrees.
Haier Chest Freezer - Just stopped working. Clicking noise all day long. Green power button on and the orange running button on. Made my gas and electric bill crazy with the constant running. It is not stuffed with food, not iced over. I'm so upset because it is not that old. My aunt bought a larger version, same brand and hers went out within two years as well.
I am saddened to read all of these horrible Haier reviews as my own fridge has just seemed to stop being cold and the freezer is constantly iced over yet keeps nothing frozen. I received this fridge from my mother a year after she purchased it, which was in Aug. of 2008. I'm not really sure how long the normal working life of a good fridge is but I would have thought it to be more than 5 years as it is just a mini fridge with a lock and probably only has 3-4 years of good moderate use out of it. I'm not sure if she still has the purchase receipt or warranty but I was hoping it wasn't a total loss. Has anyone had any experience with this type of Haier fridge or how long they typically last or how hard they are to repair?
In Oct. 8, 2013, fridge stopped cooling, repair service sent by Haier took a week to come out to see what the problem was. It took another week for the part to come in. Two weeks with my food not being cold. I lost all the food in fridge and freezer. Called Haier several times, fridge still not working or cooling properly. The customer service told me still reviewing my complaint. It's been a month and fridge still not working. It will cool for a day then cut off for two. In the meantime, I am losing all my food. This company has very poor customer service and defective product. My fridge is only 6 months old. I am very disappointed in the product and company. I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection in Maryland.

After my first review I got a call from upper management saying they were sending a new refrigerator which they did. After about a month, the same problem happened. After the long ordeal of over two months before with basically nothing happening through customer service, I decided to live with ice in my freezer until about two months ago, when the fridge got to 70 degrees. I made another entry on this site and got a call from the same upper management guy saying they would like someone to look at it and if they couldn't fix it, they would replace it with no questions asked. The new technician came, went through it, said he couldn't find anything wrong other than it may have a dropped ceiling. Told me to call him if the ice came back.
In a week, the ice was back and so was he. While at my house he tried to call tech support and was on hold for an hour. I gave him the number of the upper management guy (who by the way, when he called back for this second incident called from a blocked number!!) and was told the tech number, which is from the sheet Haier gave him, was invalid! Ridiculous. They don't even support their techs. Anyway, he told the guy he couldn't find anything wrong other than it may have a dropped ceiling. He was told to order parts, which he did. Two weeks ago. Still no parts! I truly believe this company to be a bunch of rip off artists with Zero customer service and next to no warranty fulfillment. I believe at this point they are just dragging their feet until my warranty expires. Personally, I want my money back! But at this point, I can't even get parts.
I bought a Haier double door refrigerator model no. HRF 321HP priced at Rs. 19600 on 2/4/2010 in exchange of another refrigerator which was single door and in working condition from Rajpal marketing services (P) Ltd. Opp. Govt. Inter college, Begum Bridge Road, Meerut. The problems started just after a year and after registering several complain messages, the repair engineer finally came to attend the complaint on 21/05/2011. He came back on 22nd and changed the respective parts (programmer and bymatel).
The refrigerator worked fine for 2-3 days and again the same problem started after that, but nobody gave a response to the complaint. Then I called Mr. **, but even he did not give a warm response. Then after several calls, the repair engineer came on 27th of the same month and changed the same parts again. Further in 2013 the current year the month of August, the refrigerator again had cooling problems which was attended by a repair engineer who told us that the problem is because of voltage fluctuation so change your stabilizer. Henceforth, we changed our stabilizer, but it did not yield in any good and the refrigerator again showed the same problem.
Today, i.e. on 13/09/2013, it was attended by a complaint man who told that there may be a block or leak in the gas pipe which will be corrected after paying Rs. 2500 in total. In all I have spent Rs.2000 on the refrigerator plus an amount of Rs. 2000 on a new stabilizer still without a refrigerator in working condition, it seems to me as if I have opened a recurring deposit account with Haier or its service center which demands an annual money deposit to keep the refrigerator in a working condition. Whoever is going to read this I request as a brother to him not to buy any Haier product especially the double door refrigerator.
We bought the fridge from HHGregg in Oct. 2012. It's Aug. 30th, 2013 and the thing has died already.
I have never owned a Haier product, but after reading reviews and stories about the company"s consumer service, I wanted to let all the unfortunate people who did purchase these products, thank you, I will never buy a Haier product!
I am a manager for an apartment complex. I bought a new refrigerator from FEDER's distributors for one of the tenants on 08/13/2011. The tenant called me on 03/18/2013 and complained about refrigerator not working properly. Freezer compartment is okay, but the bottom part is. Since the refrigerator is out of warranty where I purchased it from, they cannot help me. The manufacturer said they will cover the parts on the refrigerator but it would probably take a week to get the parts.
We purchased a Haier counter depth fridge 4 years and one month ago. I came home one day, and nothing was cooling. I had to throw all the food away. I called Conns where we purchased it, and they said our warranty had expired 18 days previously and there was nothing they could or would do. I had a repairman out and he said the motherboard was broken, so we ordered the part. This is when the story gets fun. He ordered it three weeks ago and still hasn't been delivered. In desperation, I ordered it as well. Lo and behold, after the parts place took my money, the part doesn't exist. Haier quit making the motherboards with no substitute made. I called Haier parts, and they said the part is no longer available. So I spoke with their customer service, and they basically told me "Sorry, there is nothing we can do."
I then asked the woman what she would do if she had a car that broke down after 4 years and can't be fixed. To my surprise, she said that exact scenario happened to her and she just bought a new one. Whatever. I then got a supervisor who directed me to various websites; however, I had already checked every parts dealer online. So in short, we have a 4.1-year-old fridge that we paid over $1600 for that is useless. My question to Haier is how can you make a fridge and not make replacement parts for it? Again POS. I would run for hills if you are considering their products regardless of the price. Their customer service is horrible, and they simply don't care.
I purchased a Haier refrigerator from Hhgreg in Southaven, MS on 12/11. On 8/31/12, I came home from work to find that my refrigerator wasn't working. The freezer part wasn't on and the refrigerator was warm. I was thinking at first that it was stuck in defrost mode. But after 3 hours, I know that wasn't the case. I found my warranty handbook and receipts and called the Haier warranty company. They took notes and placed my complaint in their system. They (Haier) informed me that someone would contact me in 24-48 hours. OK, someone did contact me from Haier and informed me that I would have an appointment with Bobby Jones Electronics that following Tuesday.
Here's where the story gets interesting. That Friday, I received a phone call from a technician employed with Bobby Jones that informed me that he was waiting on his check to post and that he didn't have enough gas money to make it from Memphis to Holly Springs. Really? OK, that sounds to me like the technician was asking for gas money. On that Tuesday, I didn't receive a confirmation call that someone would be fixing my refrigerator and nobody showed up. I spoke with the manager of Haier (Robert) on 9/18/12. I was told that Bobby Jones Electronics no longer works for them. It has been damn near almost a month of getting this issue resolved. I have two small children and I am buying food every day! I will never, ever purchase a Haier anything ever; and I advise anyone, please, please don't purchase Haier!
I brought a Haier refrigerator in Sept 2010. When I got it home, it was broken. I called and said I wanted a replacement. They told me no, they would send a serviceman out to fix it. They sent 5 repairman before it was suppose to be fixed. I told them 5 times to replace the refrigerator, but they kept sending a repairman who could not fix it. About 3 months later, it was broken again. Again, I called, and again they sent out another repairman.
About 2 months later, it was broken again. Basically within a year, my food has spoiled 3 times, and they won't even replace the food, and a repairman has been out here 9 times. The last repairman that was here, arrived in September. Now my refrigerator is broken again, and has been broken since the week of November 13th. I realize my warranty is expired but this makes no sense whatsoever. I have spoken with countless people at Haier, and have gotten the run around.
I can't understand why I couldn't have a replacement, when i asked for it first. They told me if it breaks down again, they will replace it (says Travis), and Bob sent out a repairman, on November 23, who wants me to pay for the repair. When I spoke with him, there was no mention of payment. I have explained 50 million times, that I have a burn victim in my house, and refrigeration is very important because they run very high fevers, and ice is required a lot of times. Now, my son is without ice and food. Can someone please help me.
Purchases a Haier refrigerator from HHGregg in November 2009. The refrigerator was used in residential service. In June 2010, the refrigerator quit cooling.
A&E Service made repairs under warranty (Low Freon). In October 2010, the refrigerator again quit cooling. Again A&E Service made the repair under warranty (condenser cooling fan fell off mount). In November 2010, the refrigerator again quit cooling.
Again A&E made repairs, only this time no longer under warranty ($225 for low Freon again; unable to locate leak). Not having been aware of the nature of the first Freon leak, I realized I had a problem that clearly was present under warranty and now getting worse. I approached Haier requesting an exchange of the unit because of what was clearly a manufacturing defect. Haier dismissed my request saying the unit was no longer under the factory warranty and there was nothing they could do.
The fact that the problem was initially repaired under warranty evidently meant nothing to them. Rather than "appeal" their decision, I chose to chalk my problem up to experience and when it fails again, I'll replace it with a brand I have at least heard of before. I admit that in this case, I heard the siren song of Low Price but that won't happen again. HHGregg said my only relief would be through Haier. I hope Haier enjoys the profit gained from my purchase of this appliance because it will be the last money they make off me. Based on performance to date, the last repair incurred a charge of $225 from A&E and I expect the next failure to occur before spring. At that time the refrigerator will be 18 months old and I'll have to replace it at my expense.
I have a Haier refrigerator with model number ****. The doors hang down on the handle side leaving a gap at the top of both doors. The woman I spoke with said that they could not do anything about this problem and that the problem is with the hinges, the repairman could not figure it out.
I purchased a Haier refrigerator seven years ago and it just stopped working. The freezer no longer freezes and the fridge part no longer cools the stuff. I lost a lot of food because of this. While trying to find the parts online, none of them were available for the model I have. I lost food worth $150.00.
I purchased Haier Refrigerator 4-5-09. On 3-28-10, it quit cooling. I called Haier customer service and they said system was down and they couldn't send request for service in. They were supposed to call me back, and never did. So I called the next day, wand was told the same thing, system was down, still no service call. I called back 3 times. Finally, I got someone to come out 3-31-10 who looked at it and evidently sulfur water corroded the cooling line, and was told the warranty wouldn't cover that. My complaint is that this was less than a year of purchase. I live in the country and can't help having sulfur water, but I have never had an appliance corrode like that in less than a year. So I think cheap materials are used in production of these appliances. There should be warnings if people have sulfur water especially when you pay $400 for an item.
How it started. On October 22, 2008 I purchased a refrigerator (model PBFS21EDAS) for $1,999.99. The ice maker did not work. I contacted the company I purchased it from and they sent someone out. They found that the wiring to the ice maker was missing, the entire wiring harness.
They then said because it was a manufacturing defect I needed to contact Haier direct. I was given a commercial consumer phone number. I contacted them. They sent out the repair company again. Over a 6-month period 18 repair people came to my house having changed out every possible component and rewiring the entire thing before finally ruling the unit un-repairable. During this time I've spoken with Izamore, Sherone, Marik and Willie at Haier America Consumer Support who have all stated they will get to the bottom of this and call me back. Not one called back ever!
After numerous additional phone calls, on November 1st I was told I would be receiving a replacement, but first had to cut off the cord, send it along with the sticker I had to peel off the back and my invoice. Which I did. Marik told me they would contact me when they received that and give me a delivery date. Never heard from then. So now we're one year after I purchased the fridge that has never worked.
Again, I called every other day and finally was given a tracking number from Sherone and a phone number for Allstate trucking. November 7th, I called the trucking company with my tracking number which they told me was valid, but they had not been notified by Haier to pick it up. Again me calling every other day and on November 23rd I called Haier and spoke with Marik and was told they had no units to send. What? Why would they schedule a trucking company if they had nothing to send? Anyway, I was then told I would be receiving a refund.
December 1st I called and got Malik again and was told they had everything they needed and it was all still in accounting. I asked him specifically, "Can I count on this refund and go out and buy a new fridge today knowing the check will be here?” He promised me it would be at my house by December 15th. He also explained that normally they charge the customer to destroy the defective unit. I told him I could take care of recycling it for nothing and I had it recycled. January 2nd, I got a message from a trucking company to pick up the defective refrigerator! Again. What?
January 3rd, I called and spoke with Izamore who ended up transferring me to Malik (my new best friend!). I explained I had had the defective fridge recycled and wanted to know why I was getting a call from a trucking company to pick it up. He said that wasn't a problem and again told me accounting had all the paper would and would be issuing my refund.
I then asked him if everything has been in accounting since November 9th, how ** long does accounting take? His response was obscenities would not be tolerated! I have had a fridge that I paid $2000 for that has never worked and it’s been over a year! Who would put up with this? He then promised I was told I would get a call this morning for sure to tell me when the check would be issued. Hmm. Shockingly, no phone call. Maybe the phones only work one way!
Guess I'll be calling again in the morning! In the event I ever get my refund! I will never again purchase anything from this company! The scary thing is I have no idea what recourse there is. Maybe small claims court? Refund was supposedly sent Jan. 4, 2010--still nothing although it’s Feb. 10, 2010, which is over one year without the fridge I paid $2000 for! I received yet another motor for a refrigerator they recycled 4 months ago!
Let me start off by saying that I have never been treated so horrible in my life. As a customer, I have been disrespected by members of management team as well as associates. I work in a customer service environment and our number one focus is making sure that our consumers are happy. I brought a Haier refrigerator from a retail store in March 09. Since then the unit has given me nothing but problems.
[Their] service team has been out to my house numerous times to try and fix the unit and the last time a service technician came to my house (January 29, 2010), they informed me that the unit needs to be exchanged. The service technician that came to my house informed me that my unit will be exchanged no later than January 31, 2010. To my surprise February 1, 2010 came and I still didn't have a refrigerator. I contacted company on February 1, 2010 and I was informed someone will call me back about the unit and no one called back.
On February 2, 2010, I called company to see when I will be receiving the new refrigerator. To my surprise, I was informed I need to ship documents to company before [they] can exchange a unit for me. I informed the representative what the service man informed me when he was at my home and her response is they can't inform you of our process their only job is to service the unit. Well if it is not the service technician job to inform the customer what they need to do then whose job is it? The customers have to wait until they call company to find out what you need from them.
I was then informed that I was given the option to expedite the unit out to me. I was happy with that because I have a 2 year and a three year old that I am currently going to the store everyday to buy milk because I have no refrigerator to put the milk in. In order for them to expedite the refrigerator out to me, I had charge the amount of the refrigerator unto my credit card so that I can have a refrigerator in 5 to 7 days. So I went to the retail store and they informed me that I can have the unit exchanged at the store as long as company provide them with the documents and I could have had a new refrigerator last week.I stayed in the store while they called [Haier] and they informed them it will take 48-72 hours in order to get the documents. This was on February 2, 2010,
Today is February 8, 2010 and the retail store has not received anything from your company. I called customer service department more than once and have encountered the rudeness of associates but the managers as well. Instead of providing customer service I am being yelled and by managers and associates about 1 unit that I brought with my money. As a customer when I have had a problem with something, I can get the unit exchanged with no problems. Here it is today February 8, 2010 and I still have no refrigerator and I am spending more money than necessary because [Haier] can't seem to do what [their] motto states. I have waited and I am still waiting for someone at this company to set up to the plate.
The original refrigerator did not work out of the box. The compressor sounded like a jet engine. I cut the cord and sent them all the required info for a warranty replacement. Every time I call customer service I get a different excuse as to why the replacement refrigerator has not shipped. Each customer service rep tells me a different story and I believe several have lied to me to get me off of the phone. I've asked to talk to a manager and have been told they are in a meeting. They have told me that they will not contact me when the item is shipped and that I need to keep calling back. I have now called about 10 times without success (over 2 months). The last time the rep originally told me the frig was backordered (not mentioned the other 9 times I called). When I refused to get off the phone without speaking to a manager, she put me on hold and mysteriously came back to say it will be shipped tomorrow. Unfortunately, I still haven't received it. Not only was Haier's quality control poor, they are not honoring the product warranty.
Do not buy Haier Products...they do not last. I bought a Haier compact refrigerator from Target. It only lasted 8 months, Haier would not do anything about it.
I purchased a Haier Refrigerator Model # PRCS25EDAW in Feb 2009. As of July 29, 2009, both the freezer side and refrigerator side have completely stopped cooling. Only a fan and the lights work on the entire unit. This is a unit less than a year old, and it has failed already. What kind of company is this "Haier," and junk they make since it can't last over 7 months?
I intend to discredit this company to the fullest I can since I have lost $100 of food that was in both my freezer and refrigerator at the time of its complete failure. And I'm now living out of an Icebox till the service arrives. I had to throw everything out that I had just stocked up on for the next 2 weeks! Service can't arrive until Aug 5, 2009 which is still unacceptable. I have filed a complaint with Haier America as well and have requested a refund for the cost of all food that was thrown out at the time of the unit failure. Of course, Haier can only refund me up to $50 but they will pay it. I would suggest this company be investigated on all levels of their incompetence and inept manufacturing of products.
A few days after our new (full size) Haier fridge was installed, we noticed a small puddle near the base of the fridge. We found the tray under the freezer was full with a sheet of ice. We called for repair and were told by the repairman (verbally and in writing) that the problem was that the tube that should drain condensation had been foamed up with insulation during manufacturing. The service tech advised that we were likely to have other problems because of the defect, even if he cleaned out the tube. We called Haier and explained the problem. The service tech also spoke to them to explain that this was definitely a manufacturing defect. Customer service said someone would get back to us regarding a replacement. We have called them daily for a week, and on each call, we are told that there is nothing the customer service rep can do. We have to wait for someone from Haier to contact us. What does it take to get them to respond?
I purchased a refrigerator from HHGregg on Oct., 2008. I paid cash on the spot. The refrigerator has been nothing but trouble. Three weeks after I got it, the seals came apart and caused the inside to be hot. Someone form HHGregg came out and said they fixed it. I was also told that I would need to call Haier from then on if something else happened to the product. Well, something else happened. The same thing, the seals came apart again.
Service came out and said I was not properly cleaning the seals and letting too much gunk get in between the seals. The refrigerator was fixed and not this is July and the same problem is happening again. I am fed up. I really would like another refrigerator. Haier is sending out another independent contractor to look at it. I really am not satisfied with this product.
What else can I do? I really want them to replace the refrigerator or refund my money so that I can get another one. I will never buy anything with the Haier name again. This is one of the worst cash investments I've ever made. Please, file this along with the other unsatisfied customers. I hate this product. I'll never ever buy one again. I only hope I can get it working before the factory warranty runs out.
Having purchased a refrigerator from HH Greg in January 2009, the appliance developed a fault which I thought was temporary and would have rectified itself. Two days went by and the problem still existed. I called the manufacturer as the appliance was under warranty. They sent a third party company out Blandino 931-920-2292 on 6/2/09, of which they diagnosed that the appliance requires a thermostat. Prior to leaving, the technician advised he will order the part and it should be available within 2 days to be fitted. Days went by and no contact from either companies, so I took the responsibility to check the status on the part and when the repairs will be done. I was advised by Blandino that the part was obsolete and I should contact the maker, Haier, ticket number **. I, in turn, did so and was told that they can acquire the part and would have it sent out.
The same occurrence took place as was with Blandino, so I called again a week later, despite all my calling to either companies, there were no apologies. At this point, I was told that the matter will be passed to a service manager to look into and I will be called in 3-5days. A week passed again, no response, so I called again on Thursday. This time, in a rather seethed mood, I advised for Haier to come and get the appliance out of my property as there was no progression despite me without the appliance going on 4 weeks. The adviser stated the part was ordered like a day prior to me calling and it should be with me. I need to call either themselves or the service repair people to schedule an appointment to come back out. Here I am still waiting and the matter is still unsolved.
Buyer beware: We bought our Hair side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator with the convertible door two weeks ago. We had to send it back to the store because it completely quit working. The ice maker stopped producing ice and it stopped cooling. A day earlier, I was putting something on top of it and got a shock from the wire panel on top! We suspect that contributed to the issues stated. We returned the refrigerator a week after purchase and the store said they couldn't detect a problem and would have to re-deliver the product because the warehouse refused to accept it because a problem could not be detected. We currently have the product still, after 2 weeks, and it is dripping water in the bottom of the freeze. Only 3 cubes fill up with water in the tray at a time. When we try to use the dispensers, it will not work because the cubes are stuck together!

I BOUGHT A FRIDGE AT FUTURE SHOP AFTER 3 WEEKS IT CEASED TO FUNCTION I RETURNED
I purchased a Haier refrigerator 7/1/2008 from a "reparable" appliance store in my previous neighborhood in Brooklyn. I was told I have a one year warranty on it. One month into the purchase and hook up of my fridge did things start to go wrong. My freezer was completely frozen, ruining my food, freezing liquor and having ice on the inside of the freezer itself. And on the opposite end of the spectrum no air was entering the refrigerator portion of it, actually spoiling food and curdling my milk. I tried everything the manual said to do with the number gauges, still nothing. I called the appliance company and they told me to call the Corp. of Haier. I called Corp. (8/29/08) and after waiting another week for a rep to be dispatched to my house (9/6/08) and look at the fridge it was determined by the rep that I needed a new part and in two weeks they will have my fridge exchanged with a new b/c the part was not available.
Two weeks past I did not receive a phone call, email, nothing from Haier. I contacted them AGAIN, only to be told by a call service rep at Haier that it seemed that no order was put into the system. I asked her to search the system and my file more in depth which she then proceeded to notice that on 9/20 the service manager of Ohio was notified. On 9/25/08 the part was searched for again and then again in 9/26/08 in the Corp office. Please keep in mind I was told by the service rep. and his supervisor who were both in my apartment on 9/6/08 that two weeks I will have my NEW fridge. 10/3/08 I received a voicemail from Haier stating that I have been approved for an exchange so I will need to send them 8-10 inches of the power cord which I will need to cut myself along with the receipt and serial tag. I refuse to cut it and sent it "priority mail" for them to tell me it is not under warranty b/c of something I cut. I tried to call back the corp. office # which was left on the voicemail and I got transferred 3 times and told to call 3 different numbers and wait for a service rep; one never came and call was disconnected.
I finally called the number I had been given originally and Spoke with a call service rep. She sent me an email after refusing to send the cord without something in writing. She told me, "Well it is our policy and we have it in your file that you are approved fro exchange," and I proceeded to tell her that I want it for my own personal file in case this will be taken to small claims court. I had to inquire myself about the procedure which she said "upon receiving the package it will be processed and validated and that takes about 5-7 days, and then another 5-7 business days to ship out to me". Will I be getting a call? "Oh no you should call us and we will supply you with a tracking number and a call number for the trucking company". Long story short, a brand new fridge, one month of proper nutrition, 3 months of headaches and still no working fridge. Stay clear of Haier America refrigerator products for they are awful and the customer service is as well.
I purchased a Haier Refrigerator (HTQ21JAAWW - 20CF) on 05-01-06. Not being familiar with the product brand, I bought an extended two-year warranty, which ultimately resulted in one of my more prudent decisions. I have experienced many of the problems of others, already entered in this website, but to make a long story short, as of 09-18-08 the product was deemed non-repairable. I am now awaiting a comparable replacement (GE brand) and will be ever so happy to witness the departure of this Haier-from-Hell Collection of Manufacturing Miscues. I would advise anyone who purchases any such little-known product, to also pay the extra small premium for extended-warranty protection.
As a rule, I usually would not buy the extended warranty; however, under circumstances (already discussed) in retrospect, it was a wise decision. I visited two Home Depot Outlets today and found out that these two stores no longer stocked the Haier-brand larger refrigerators. A person would truly have to be hair-brained to take a chance on a "Haier-brand" refrigerator product after having read of my (and others') experiences noted on this website. I AM quite satisfied with Home Depot, however, and the services of the extended-warranty insurance company, American Bankers Insurance Company of Florida.
Bought this Haier Refrigerator ( model # HTQ21JAAWW ) about 2 yrs ago and needless to say its the only refrigerator I have seen that gets cooled from holes in the freezer bottom. Meaning theres no direct blower duct in the fridge part just in the freezer so the fridge part gets cold from 2 factory holes between the fridge and freezer. this thing runs forever ( 1-2 hrs at a time ) and cant even keep ice cream frozen. Will spend extra for kenmore next time.
I have a small Haier refrigerator that the compressor has failed on after approximately one and a half years. The compressor has a five year warranty. Haier tells me they cannot provide a replacement compressor due to lack of parts availabilty. They promised a replacement refrigerator but have never delivered it.
The company has the worst customer service. I have been given one run around after another and they admit they have a warranty obligation but do nothing to honor it. Mr. Fowler makes empty promises and never returns calls as promised.
I have been without a working refrigerator for almost four months. I have spent countless hours on the telephone following up on this matter. The pattern is the same, they promise but never deliver. I have guests coming soon and will need that refrigerator. So now, I will have to buy a replacement and pay somebody to haul away Haier's defective product that is still under warranty! Apparently this company just ignores consumer warranty laws and gets away with it!!
I purchased a Haier refrigerator model # HTQ21JAARSS on 3/17/07. On 4/28/07 the thermostat stopped working. This was 2 days after I went food shopping so everything spoiled. I contact Haier immediately and requested service. On 5/2/07 the technician told us it was the thermostat and ordered the part requesting overnight delivery. We set an appointment for 5/4/07 for them to return. The part never arrived and I was told it was showing it is on back order and expected to arrive on 5/17/07.
I explained that this time frame was not acceptable because we have 3 small children and 4 adults in the home and we are using an ice chest to keep some food cold. I have been told 3 times that it would be escalated to the corporate office and they would send the part overnight because they had them available.
I have also been told twice that the part was shipped over night and then it never arrived. I was even given a tracking number but it was never sent with the other UPS packages that were picked up for that day. It has been 3 weeks and we are still without a refrigerator.
I have lost over $200 worth of food, and I have had to constantly purchase take out food for the past 3 weeks because no food can be stored in the refrigerator.
We have 4 adults and 3 small children in the home and the costs for buying take out food or not being able to buy our groceries in bulk has been unbelievable. I want a replacement of this refrigerator or the part shipped immediately. No one wants to help us.
On October 14th I purchased a Haier Compact Refrigerator Model # BC117LW from a Lowes Store in Cape Coral Florida. Upon getting it home I discovered that the door was dented. I contacted Lowes and they advised me I could bring the item back for another. I explained to them that I had to hire someone to take me to get the refrigerator in the first place as I ride a motorcycle. they suggested I contact Haier for a replacement door.
I have made three calls to Haier. Each time I received their telephone support service. I have explained the problem to them and each time have been told that the matter will be forwarded to Haier. I have also been advised each time that someone from Haier should contact me within 72 hours.
On the third call I asked to speak to someone directly at Haier. I was told that this was not possible. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was advised by the telephone support person that she didn't have one... after five minutes of haggling the leady put another person on the phone who stated that she was a team leader. She stated that they were a telephone answering service and were located in Canada. She advised me that she would personally insure that my complaint got to Haier. To date, I have heard nothing from Haier.
