      I notified Choice Home Warranty for a plumber to repair a leak under my sink and ticking from my water pump. The plumber fixed the leak, but was told by Choice Home Warranty that they could not or would not fix the ticking sound from my pump. On another day I had no air from my air conditioner. I called to have my air conditioner repaired. I was told that the air conditioner could not be repaired by them because of a lack of maintenance on my part. I think this is a company that does not stand by its advertisement. I am very, very disappointed. I wish I had read some of the reviews before paying $400.00 and receiving very little service.

      I have been a customer of CHW for 3 years and half of that time has been dealing with them on my Frigidaire fridge that has now been repaired (I used that word loosely) 4 times and the work last for 1-3 months and then it goes out again. I have lost hundreds of dollars in food and another hundreds of dollars in time dealing with this. I have paid $180.00 in deductible fees and the techs that come out are poorly trained at best. The same part has been replaced 3 times and CHW sees no problem with that since the tech says it can be repaired again. Sure they only get paid if they do some work. Today they offered me $198 for a unit that retailed at $1800 just 3 years ago.

      On 3-13-2016 I notified CHW that my garage door opener was inoperative. I was notified immediately that my claim was acknowledged. And that a service tech would be assigned. On 3-14 CHW notified me that a service had been assigned. The service tech notified me that he would be here on 3-15.       Your staff is always helpful and nice. I have used the warranty 4 times. Each time the service was excellent. The timeliness on getting someone to call me back is great. The only complaint I have is with your Septic companies. There are not enough to cover the San Antonio area. I live just outside the city line and I could not get anyone to come out that you recommended. I had to get my own Septic company, pay them and wait to get reimbursed. Not good! Other than that so far everyone else has been great.

      My experience with CHW has been great. I would recommend them to everyone I know. I responded to a follow-up email sent to me. When I told CHW rep that the technician had not come to my home to physically diagnose the problem, the rep asked me to hold on while she contacted the technician then informed me that he would come by on Tuesday and that is the way it happened. I was so excited and appreciative that the claim was handled expeditiously.

      The rep did not settle for the tech diagnosing and ordering a part based on what I explained to them. She demanded the excellence to maintain what their company represent and I hope that they forever remain this way. When the tech came he stated that he's done this for so many years that when I explained what was going on, he could immediately tell and so order the part. But, like he said, they told him he had to physically come and diagnose the problem and he did. And hats off to them for demanding excellence.

      I purchased my home in October and purchased a policy in January. Was told they would not cover anything for 30 days. 6 weeks later my dishwasher that had been working just fine since I moved in October, broke down. They sent a vendor to check it out then I got a call from Alia who claimed that claim was denied because pre-existing. Told her system was working fine until last week and she said claim denied but would offer me 100. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said there was no one above her. Told her it was unacceptable that the unit was working up to a week ago and they needed to repair it. She put on hold and then Sam came on the line and said he was a manager. I asked if Alia was a manager since she said no one was above her 10 minutes earlier and now he was on the line.

      Sam said he could offer me 150 and I could take it or leave it. I asked to speak to someone above him and he said no one above him. Gave me his rep # ** and said only the board of directors were above him. He said he could refund my money for the policy and said "Okay 100%." He said no prorated because policy has been in effect for 30 days. I said "But you are not covering me in these 30 days. I should get 100% back." I told him even the hold music is advertising that units go down unexpectedly and we should have peace of mind because they cover it and it specifically stated dishwashers. Ask that they honor the contract and repair or replace my unit. Sam then said "I gave you your option and you can take it or leave it" and hung up. Worse customer service. This is a scam. The unit was working just fine since October when I bought the house and they are denying the claim. Calling Better Business Bureau next.

      I called CHW on last week, Wed., 3/9/16 to put in a claim for our refrigerator that had stopped freezing and food was thawing out. My claim was processed that same day. I received a call from the refrigerator company a few hours later that same day. An appointment was made for them to come the next day, Thurs., 3/10/16 to check it out. It was determined that a relay switch needed to be replaced, and it was!! We were told to watch it and see if all would be okay. But the technician also suspected it could also be another problem.

      Well, over the weekend our refrigerator went on "the blink" again!! Boo-hoo!! First it was freezing up everything even in the refrig part ("frozen tomatoes") and on the next day, Sunday, everything was "thawing out" again in the freezer. Our ice cream had "turned to ice milk"!! Oh, oh!! So I called CHW back on Monday to let them know what had happened. They were 'very sorry' to hear of our continued problem and stated that they would call the company back again to let them know. The owner of the company called me on the same day (Monday) and spoke with my husband.

      The other problem (thermostat board) was discussed and the representative said he would order it and hopefully would have it in by Friday. Of course, he would come out again w/o charging another service fee and that CHW will not charge us for the parts. So all in all, we feel that it has been "very quick" service provided by both CHW and the refrigerator company. Here's hoping all is well (freezing & cold, where it should be)....upon Friday's arrival!! Thank you.

      My husband and I looked around for home warranties since our house is older. We found Choice Home Warranty to be highly rated so my husband got in touch with the company to look into getting the warranty and what it covers. At the time we also had Sears and we bought 5 he Choice Home Warranty for the safety of our roof. Sears has come out within a couple days of putting in a claim. They don't charge you for a claim on the same item and their repair guys were all clean, nice and fast with all the repairs they did.

      It took us almost 2 weeks to get someone to come out and look at our roof because the companies that Choice Home warranty given us the numbers for were either claiming they weren't doing work because they were still negotiating their contracts so they weren't doing work or the companies they used weren't returning our calls. After Choice Home Warranty finally got someone to come out the 2 leaks we have are not covered. We called for our sink leaks and those are not covered. We paid 900 for 3 years for nonsense. Stay far away from this company. They must pay people to write good reviews on here because they have been nothing but a waste of time for my husband and I to get work done on our house.

      I must say I was more than pleasantly surprised when I put in my first claim since joining Choice Home Warranty. As with other unknowns I had no idea if it would be like buying an extended car warranty which are as bad as it gets, or a great deal as what they cover is vital to the running of a home. I had a backed up kitchen sink and a leaking faucet. I filed the claim online which was simple. I received a confirmation number and the number of a plumbing company here in Jacksonville. I called the plumber and he was here bright and early the next day. As he was fixing the leak he noticed the garbage disposal was dripping and that it had began to leak due to the pressure of the blockage. He advised me to call Choice which I did and they immediately processed another claim, while I was on the phone, in less than 3 minutes and not only were both the leaks solved but a new garbage disposal was installed and just had to pay the one reasonable co-pay.

      Needless to say I was grateful and ecstatic. From the moment I made the claim it was a seamless continuation of great customer service. From having a plumber here the day after the initial claim, the plumber who was quite skilled and friendly, to the nice young the lady on the phone who took care of the processing of the second claim and then the follow up to make sure all went well was just way beyond my expectations.

      All of my anxiety of buying a home warranty and then having to see how really good they were was completely alleviated and I rest much better knowing that they made good on all that was promised when I signed up and that if something in the future should need attention I can depend on Choice Home Warranty. I have been telling my friends, family and colleagues about my experience as they wanted to know (I was like the guinea pig) if the service that they provided was worth it and in a timely manner.       We have been trying for over 4 months to get Choice to pay for a repair that should have been covered. They denied the claim based on asking for service records on the A/C disregarding the fact that their service technician is the one that last serviced the unit less than 6 months prior to the condenser needing repair (they did not pay the repairman either). We ended up paying $1952 out of pocket because we had tenants in the house that needed heat and had a medical condition. Choice then said the credit would be posted to our credit card over two weeks ago and still nothing.

      Kelley Chase, CEO PR, is the one who wrote on my Yelp page that all was taken care of. We have had to file with the BBB and NJ AG and are still waiting to hear from Choice. If I could give negative stars, I would. We asked for a prorated refund of our policy and cancelled. We did not ask for a full cancellation because we felt they would then deny our claim, even though the servicing technician said our AC unit had been kept in excellent shape.

      First of all it is not worth to pay a company 400 per year and then when something goes wrong you get outsourced to speak with people from India whom do not understand and have others screaming at clients in the background. It took them more than 48 hours to send a technician whom I had to pay $60 and was lying and obviously working for Choice saying my tank was originally improperly installed. I had a paid city inspector come to my home and approve all of my heating system functions and they were up to code. When I told them this they still denied the claim because they had a clause saying that auxiliary tanks were not covered. By then I was out $200 dollars for inspector and their lying plumber who just wanted me to pay him $550.

      What an unprofessional, rude, and illiterate service do they rely on? Horrible service. To pay for something and it's their turn to cover a damage, and they send unreliable servicemen whom you pay additional amounts of money to try and look good to Choice so as to deny claims!!. Wasted money, wasted time, and wasted uncovered time while freezing in the winter. They should be sued! Oh wait if you Google many people have already sued them and won or settled.

      We purchased a warranty through Choice Home Warranty in the fall of 2015 after previously having a warranty through Old Republic Home Warranty, where we had terrible service from their contractors. We used our new Choice warranty for the first time in March 2016, when we happened to have two issues come up in the same week. We submitted two claims, one for a plumber and one for HVAC. We were assigned contractors for both claims within minutes of submitting online. The plumber actually called me a few minutes later and offered to come out right away, but we weren't at home.

      Setting an appointment with the HVAC contractor was equally as easy. Both contractors arrived at the time they stated, completed the repairs on the same day, and were professional and easy to work with. After dealing with ORHP's contractors who would take two days just to set up appointments, show up a week later (often missing appointments), and then usually taking a few appointments to make the repairs (I had a dishwasher repair take 10 visits and 7 weeks with one of their contractors!), this was such a nice breath of fresh air and exactly what I was hoping for by making the switch to Choice.

      It took a month to get a technician to our house to work on our refrigerator and built in microwave. Denied my refrigerator claim because it was "already broken". It was. For the month it took them to get to it. Then they said we hadn't waited the 30 days plus 30 more days before our warranty could be used. Then it was because the tech said it was a power surge. But another cs rep said it was because there were two claims and that was too many. According to Choice, the microwave is too old to be fixed. It's not. So for my $2200 microwave is worth $275 total.       Water Heater went out on 3/2/16. Filed claim with Choice Home Warranty. They assigned the claim, an appointment was set for 3/4/16. Repair company determined water heater needed to be replaced on 3/4/16 (Friday). 3/7/16 (Monday) comes nothing from either company. Call the warranty company and they state they're waiting on paperwork from the repair company. Tuesday comes warranty company still waiting on paperwork from the repair company.

      At this point we've been without hot water 7 days. The companies Choice contracts to perform their work is absolutely horrible and Choice is not much better when you try to talk to them about your concerns. I ended up having to buy a new water heater out of pocket and get it installed by someone else. I stated this to Choice and they didn't want to help me at all. I'm even out of my service call fee. Once my contract is up I will never again deal with Choice. This was not the first issue I had with them either. Last year my dishwasher went out and it took over a month to get it repaired and that was after calling several times a day trying to get it worked on.

      Although my claim was processed very quickly it was also denied very quickly. As I listened to the plumbing Tech, the first question was how much will it cost to repair and then he told me he didn't have good news and that Choice would be calling me. A few seconds later they called and told me it was not covered. To my surprise because it is the major reasons hot water heaters fail. I will be cancelling at the end of the month. As I reviewed the policy there are so many exclusions. It is not worth my money to continue because in essence I would most likely be paying for everything which defeats the purpose. I would advise consumers to be smarter than me and pay close attention to the exclusions. There is a reason they are cheaper.

      I signed up for Choice Home Warranty after reading the glowing reviews. I was deceived. I am a homeowner who had a negative experience with my prior warranty company. I signed up and prepaid for an entire year. It took them over 30 days to instate my policy. I made my first claim with the company and it was an absolute mess. The technicians that they have in their network are subpar. I had a repair person arrive over 1.5 hrs. after their time window. I had to repeatedly call the technician as well as Choice to try to locate this technician (beyond tacky). After staying for 5 minutes the technician stated I needed a part and they would order it; the technician went missing and never reported anything to the warranty company or myself.

      Next time I asked to select my own contractor, a perk that they advertise heavily. After calling in twice and giving them all the details of a reputable repair company that I had found in my area with excellent reviews, they still continued to assign the work to a different contractor. I got so much pushback regarding selecting my own provider that this is little more than a false promise that they use to lure customers in. After finally getting a 2nd repair person out and having them diagnose the problem they then attempted to reject my claim for the covered appliance by claiming that this could have been pre-existing.

      When I attempted to ask for diagnostics to back this up they denied it. This is how they get out of paying claims. The company claims to cover appliances but then looks for loopholes in the contract or manipulation of their approved technicians to get out of paying. It now makes sense as to why they didn't want me to use my own contractor, they would not have agreed to their manipulative practices or written up reports that correspond to their deceptive practices. After calling in to escalate this to numerous managers to no avail, I decided on cancelling my policy. Only to have them attempt to only refund 2/3 of my prepaid year, despite having only had the policy for LESS THAN A MONTH! I cannot believe this company is top rated. They must be manufacturing these reviews. As a real estate agent, I will ensure not to recommend this company to any of my clients.

      I called in for a claim and had to call again to get another tech, which they came out they were great. He went into the attic diagnosed the problem as an evaporator coil leak which he said oil was all over which was causing the emergency heating unit to run and the unit to freeze up due to the Freon leaked out. He called the office. They told him to add more Freon and collect the $60.00. I had him document the problem on the invoice which he did. He was sorry he couldn't do more but he was doing what he was told. I was standing there while he was on the phone talking with them. They didn't repair problem which caused the Freon to leak out. They just put more Freon in and left due to what they were told by Choice Warranty.

      Currently this happen not even an hour ago since I've called and faxed my documentation to the problem and ask them why they didn't repair the leaking evaporator coil so the Freon doesn't leak out again. They go the tech told them it was the Freon??? Who is lying? I was standing beside the tech. He told them what was wrong and they told him to put Freon in the unit, collect the $60 and leave. The tech didn't lie so who was on the end of that phone conversation telling the technician what to do? Choice Warranty. And yes I had the technician document the problem that was not fixed.

      I called Choice on Sunday and within an hour my claim was forwarded to a vendor. The vendor immediately contacted me to determine if my problem was urgent and promised to get someone out on Monday. The vendor was professional and knew what he was doing. It was a good feeling to know that service was available even on a weekend. Thank you Choice.

      We have had the policy for a while only to find out that all rust/corrosion/mildew... is excluded for AC systems. It's one of the major systems, and yes fluids travel through it, so all of the above are likely conditions if it's not new. Then it's bound by a binding Mediation policy. All around a poor deal, look elsewhere.

      I had called in a repair request because my heating system which is a boiler would not stay lit. The CHW staff was friendly and assigned a technician to my request immediately. Due to the high volume of jobs, the technician assigned was unable to service my unit that same day. As a result, I then had to call CHW and request different companies. The only company that could come the same day did not contract through CHW. As a result, I was pleased to be informed that I could use any contractor of my choice and just submit a request for reimbursement.

      This was the first time I needed a repair and the experience was excellent. The rep at CHW was well trained and quickly took all the information and provided me with a claim number. The plumbing company was prompt in their response and the person I spoke to, Angela, sent Amos who was able to arrive earlier than estimated and made the required repair without issue. From my initial call to CHW to the problem being corrected was less than 3 hours. It appears that CHW selects great companies to service their customers.
