HORRIBLE customer service. I bought a new vacuum and it was broken when I received it. Called customer service and there is nothing they can do for me than to refer me to a repair shop. You'd think a company like this would have better customer service and they'd be willing to help with a defective product. Never again will I buy a Bissell.

I purchased my second ProHeat pet rug clean with Bissell. 1st one constantly stopped separating because tank seal was defective. Was a process using... Unfortunate it was a house gift so no receipt. We purchase our second one which leak all over floor from day one. You could not turn it off to take a break with water in it, also would give trouble spraying and sucking. Was told by Bissell to go to repair center 1 hour away. They said unit is defective, that seals are bad and flow indicator was not working properly. This was just 2 weeks from having it 6 months. Gisele told me cut the cord and send it back. They will send me a NEW ONE within 7 days.

I get email today almost 2 week later saying they just sent out a REMANUFACTURED/used unit. WHAT??? I am under 1 YEAR WARRANTY??? The guy said, "Once you had unit 6 months we send only remanufactured units..." THIS IS UNREAL. 6 months is not 1 year. Now I am being sent someone used garbage that they could have had pets who crapped all over their floor and used it on... It's all banged up. BISSEL IS NO GOOD. Products are NOT reliable and they do not stand by their word. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. PAY A EXTRA 50 bucks and go with a better name brand.

I have bought now THREE Bissell Bolt purple vacuums. Yes, I said three!!! I’ve literally used each of them ONE time and they never charged back up again. I called Bissell expecting them to at least upgrade the product since clearly it has some type of issue and they REFUSED to upgrade!!! I bought this one because it was lightweight, cordless and had the handheld attachment on it. Now, they’re trying to send me a downgraded version! Y’all about piss poor customer service. This one they’re sending doesn’t have the handheld or anything like that. Absolutely pathetic!!

Pet vacuum couldn't even pick up small loose bits of eggshells. Pet hair would clog at the floor piece and you have to remove the small hairball just to finish ONE room. The upholstery cleaner would leak all over the floor as you were using it. As both these products were over 3 months old Target would do nothing to help.

We purchased the Bissell Pro heat Advanced carpet shampooer. Brand new out of the box it didn't work. It wouldn't put down shampoo. I called the customer service. We went through their testing over the phone, they knew it didn't work. They tried to send me to an authorized service place. Why it's new and does not work. I refused! They said they would send a replacement, great. They sent me the cheapest model they sell.

Again I have to call customer service. Finally after 3 weeks without a carpet shampooer, I at least received one like I had originally purchased. Well here it is, one month to the day and the new one does not work. It has the same problem. It won't put down shampoo. Well back to customer service. Frustrating. I could get a replacement same model, but why! In a month I would be in the same boat. All I wanted was my money back, or an upgrade, (that I was willing to pay the difference for), I was refused!!

So I say to any consumer, buyer beware! They don't stand by their products, even when they have obvious design flaws! Also God help you if you have to deal with customer service! They are hard to understand, and their favorite saying is “I'm sorry we aren't allowed to do that." I will never ever buy a Bissell product again. They do not stand by their products, and do not care about their customers! Shame on you Bissell!!!

I absolutely love Bissell!!! I have never wanted to clean as much as I have since I had gotten my purple Bissell bolt, light, cordless, detachable mini vacuum, plus attachments, and handle is a snap to drop for under object usage. Love, love, love! I really get sad seeing all these negative reviews. So I fell in love with my bolt but one day it stopped working and I have no idea why. My husband called Bissell. After 5 min. conversation they took all my info, ask me for a picture of codes and then sent me a replacement!!! I got it in 2 days by UPS. No receipt or questions asked. Not only that but replaced it with a better version of my purple bolt.

It is a green bolt with more features, plus the ones I love, and a charging stand. Awesome!!! I just cleaned the door jam of my sliding glass door in garage. It gets filled with pine needles like every second. Sucked them all out. Best part I just dumped them back into nature, awesome! I can clean stairs, corners, anywhere and everywhere. Dog hair clean up in a snap. I would recommend this product to everyone! Finally a vacuum I can use... Thank you Bissell!

I have owned 3 Bissell shampoos since December 2016. The throw rug spot shampooer and 2 of their pet ProHeat Revolution. Every single one have broke. The spot shampooer fell over and broke the neck. The ProHeat first one the belt broke and the store where I bought it at does not sell replacement parts not even belts. So I took it back, got another one. Same kind ProHeat. And brand new went to use it and the motor burnt up I guess. Motor just stopped. I think the engineering department really needs to use the shampooer that they design. The Bissell is not user-friendly. It does not compare to Hoover. I want a shipping label to send it back to Bissell. I have my receipt. I have it boxed up, need a shipping label. Never again will I ever buy a Bissell again. They suck.

Even if BISSELL has great products, they have HORRIBLE customer service. I'd like to share my experience with everyone. On Thursday, 4/27, I placed an order for a special that BISSELL was running. You could order the Revolution Pet Pro (2.0) and make monthly payments instead of a one time payment. I ordered the Revolution Pet Pro (2.0) and the Revolution Pet Pro Formula Kit 2. My total order came to $301.50 (including tax). My payments were supposed to be spread out over 6 months with the first month payment a little more than the others - this is where the tax and such was supposed to be paid. I placed the order around 12 or 1 pm CST 4/27/17. I received my order confirmation at 1:52 pm. The order confirmation looked like it had charged me the full amount so I looked at my bank account online. The full amount of $301.50 was sitting in my pending transactions.

I immediately called BISSELL - 2:12 PM 4/27/17. I explained to the rep that the full amount was taken and I would like to change it to monthly payments. They transferred me to the sales dept @ BISSELL Pet Revolution. The sales dept said they could not access accounts and that I had to call back to the original number. I hung up and called the original number again at 2:20 pm 4/27/17. I spoke to the rep there and explained to them what had happened. There was nothing they could do so I asked them to cancel the order. This is 4/27/17 at roughly 2:30 pm. The representative said someone MAY call me back that day or the next day to confirm my cancellation - this makes no sense and I ask the person repeatedly if my order was cancelled and they said yes but someone MAY call me and that I would receive my refund in about 10 business days.

English is not their first language (I'm impressed with anyone that can speak more than one so don't take offense to this) so I figure there must be a little issue with 'may' and 'will'. It was frustrating. I tell the rep I am very unhappy with this call. No one calls me on 4/27/17 or on 4/28/17. My order is supposed to be canceled so I figure it has been taken care of and it will be canceled. I just want to order the thing again and make sure the payment arrangement is correct (I really wanted this carpet shampooer).

On 4/29/17 I receive an email that the order has shipped! I call customer service AGAIN at 4:09 pm CST. I ask why this order has shipped when it was supposed to be canceled. They cannot answer a single question and tell me that I must wait for the order to be returned to BISSELL before I can get my $$ back. They will try to reroute the package and that I need to call back on Monday 5/1/17 to see if that has been done. This is getting ridiculous. The order should have never shipped and now I have to call them back to make sure something was done? What kind of joke is this place.

Lo and behold, I received a package on 5/2/17 from BISSELL, even though they said they would reroute it back to them. I called and told them I was sending it back. And now I had the fun tasks of closing the box back up (I had to open it to get the return label), and dragging it back outside (the box doesn't have handles, it's large, and it's maybe around 40-50lbs - with the extra cleaning products I ordered), and scheduling a pickup with FedEx. BISSELL received their order back on 5/6/17. I FINALLY received my credit on 5/15/17. This order was supposed to be canceled 2 days before it was shipped! This company took money it was not authorized to take and made me jump through hoops to get it back. BISSELL ignored every request I made. I also filed a complaint with the BBB.

I was supposed to have a max charge of about $70 for the first payment instead of $300 and I ended up having to pay my mortgage late. Do yourself a favor, don't buy anything from this company. It's not worth it.

I purchased the original machine at Walmart on 1/16/2016. Worked great the first couple of times I used it, then it quit spraying. Had a so-called extended warranty through Walmart on it - but no phone number, so I contacted Bissell directly to set up a repair appointment. The repair shop couldn't fix it so Bissell replaced it. It was after the 90 days so Walmart wouldn't refund my money, and Bissell won't give me reasonable compensation because I didn't buy it directly from them, so I stuck with the replacement machine.

To make a long story short - I just received my 3rd replacement about a month ago (4th machine!) and Bissell has no record of any replacements except one! I won't even open the box at this time because I hate the machine so much, but it looks like I'm stuck with this horrible piece of junk. I had a much cheaper Hoover that lasted for 5 years, and I switched to Bissell just for the lift off! Oh yes, while waiting for the last machine to get fixed or replaced I had to purchase a cheap spot remover and the only one available was the Bissell - unfortunately! Only 2 months old, and it's leaking everywhere! DO NOT EVER BUY BISSELL! Wish I could give this company a -10 stars! Worst machine ever!

I purchased a Bissell ProHeat 2X 8920 a few years back. Although I've gotten years out of it I used it on the floor twice a year. So got around eight uses out of it. Always ran clean water through it to finish so the heating core, etc. would have all detergent flushed out. Recently it stopped spraying out of floor. While hand-held sprayer worked. From what I researched the heater can get clogged. Opened her up, and the heater was super clogged with white gunk. Cleaned it out but the gasket and o-rings deteriorated. So after I put it back together it leaks bad out of heater. You're almost better off purchasing one without a heater, and spraying the detergent yourself on carpet. While using only clean water on carpet cleaner to rinse. Long review but wanted to be fair and detailed. Got maybe 15 hours of use out of it.

Bissell Powerforce Helix Vacuum - This vacuum cleans amazingly better than my old vacuum. The first time I used it, it got up very fine dirt and dust that must have been there for a long time. It pulls up so much dirt out of the carpets that the cannister must be emptied frequently, after almost every room. Because we have so much floor space (4,600 sq. ft.) I needed a vacuum with a motor that can handle a lot of carpeting, and this one does. It didn't cost all that much (I think it was about $60 with tax) and I am very happy with it. I like the turbo brush tool for the stairs and for upholstery. Another great feature is that this vacuum readily comes apart for cleaning. It has two washable filters. It's good that it can be cleaned out, because it picks up so much dirt that you will need to clean it. I recommend it highly.

Used the second cleaner one time, put it away properly and then did not need it for several months. Took it out today to use and the cleaner leaks the whole tank full of fluid into one location. Tried customer service. Failure and any costs related to the repair are on me because it's older than a year even though it's been used once.

I am an engineer, so I thought how hard can this be. Took the O-ring out at the seat of the tank and replace. Still leaking. Opened and checked hoses, all clear, but there is a crack in the main line. No fixing this except with perhaps some industrial strength glue and then no guarantee. Money wasted. Might just as well rent a cleaner from a local "rental" place as the other unit has worn out as well after only a few uses. It might be a hassle to pick up and return, but at least they guarantee the unit. And by the time you figure out the cost to purchase your own and your time, not worth the money; or better yet, call someone to clean the carpet if you can afford it and use spot cleaner in between!

Comment: I had purchased a Bissell Powerlifter Pet Vac about a year ago. Model Number: 1309, Serial Number: 15019101E. It worked great and picked up a lot of pet hair. The Febreze scent was nice. It worked fine till about a month ago. We noticed it wasn't picking up the dirt and hair. It was spitting it back out. We checked the filters, the bottom one was a little dirty so we replaced it. It still wasn't working right so we thought it was the belt. We took it apart to replace the belt and it was just sitting there and wasn't connected. We replaced it and the belt wouldn't stay on the metal piece. After checking it further, it looked like the housing was melted.

I called Bissell, they said to take it to a Bissell Service Center. It had been a few weeks, so I called them. They said the vacuum housing is melted and the motor is rusted. They said it would have been caused by moisture and warranty wouldn't cover it, they also said it could not be repaired. I only had this vacuum for a year and now I have to buy another one. It should last longer than a year, since it cost $100. We used it daily to pick up dirt and hair. Normal usage should not cause it to break. Obviously there is an issue with this vacuum. We do not vacuum over anything wet so I don't understand where moisture would come from.

We are very upset and now have to come up with money to buy another vacuum, when we have been without a working vacuum for several weeks now. This is not an acceptable way to run a company. What's the point of a warranty when it won't cover anything? This issue should be covered by warranty when we didn't cause the problem. This vacuum is defective. Vacuums should not have to be replaced every year. I contacted Bissell right away. They said they would check into this problem. I never heard a response from them. They don't seem to care once the product is purchased.

We were told the unit has a leak in dirty water tubes or tank and the pump is not working and will not spray, and that if the pump was fixed it would leak dirty water all over. I am not happy about this situation at all... I called your customer service dept. and was given an ID number to give to repair shop and the shop was told that your company was not responsible and that I had to pay for the repairs... So first?? Why an ID number if you're not paying for it?? Second?? Why am I having to have this in the shop to begin with?? Why should people continue buying your products and they do not last more than 14 months... I am very dissatisfied!! And now stuck with repairing it or buying a new unit!!! Not happy at all.

After 35 minutes on the phone placing the order, spelling the address, giving my card number going over and over everything, I was asked if my billing was the same as my delivery address, which it isn't as I am a snowbird with two houses, one in Florida and one in Canada. Then I was told I had to have the two addresses the same, stupid or what. I explained that this is impossible because my bank is in Canada where I live, for over 8 months of the year. Isn't it about time Bissell moved into the 21st century. I must admit after complaint for ever the supervisor sent me one of each item required free of charge, but that is not the point. I ordered replacement steam mop pads online and when I went to go check the status about a week or so later, it said it was cancelled. I didn't cancel the order! So I call the customer service line and they tell me that my card got declined. Funny, because I've been using my card a lot online at other retailers lately (Christmas stuff) and they are the only one with a problem. I asked if it was standard practice for the company to cancel an order and not notify the customer at all and they couldn't give me a straight answer. They also couldn't tell me why, if my card was declined, did the order supposedly originally go through and I be sent a confirmation e-mail. The guy just kept telling me he could he could place the order again but mind you, I had already been waiting a week and now I had to wait even longer because you guys decided to cancel the order without notifying me? Um, no.

Then he tried to offer me free regular shipping as some sort of consolation. Obviously he wasn't paying attention to the original order because I already had free shipping. Finally he offered expedited shipping but then, again because he wasn't paying attention to the original order, tried to charge me more than I had originally paid. Not going to happen. I told him that I had gotten a platinum member discount and used a promo code. He applied the member discount and then AGAIN tried to make me pay more. After telling him for the third time that I wasn't going to pay more than my original order he tells me that the only way he can apply another discount to my order is to sign me up for their stupid e-newsletter. By this point I'm super frustrated and just want my order placed so I agreed. I give him my card info, he says it went through and gives me an order number.

Exactly one week later I get a call from a female customer service rep to tell me that my order was cancelled AGAIN! No joke, without pausing at all she says to me, "I'm calling from Bissell, your order was cancelled, it doesn't say why, do you want me to place the order again?" "What do you mean you don't know why?" Granted I'm pleased to have at least gotten a phone call the second time but she never once apologized on behalf of the company. And when I asked again why the order was cancelled, she just said the system didn't say and she obviously had no intention of finding out the problem. Up until this happened I thought Bissell were pretty awesome. I have one of their carpet cleaners, steam mop, and SpotBot. I even convinced my mom to shell out for a SpotBot and told her to replace her Shark steam mop with one from Bissell. Now I'm going to tell her to run the other way as fast as she can.

When I saw this problem was not going to have a satisfactory resolution, other than offering me a new attachment, when it also was not going to have stainless steel screws, I asked to speak to the next level. His name was Razo and he was not available, so he was to call me the next day; but I never heard from him. The next week I called him and held for 15 minutes and gave up, because he never came on the phone. I wrote another message to Bissell through the Executive Office included photos of the rusty screws I replaced. I received a call from Razo and he sounded more impressed with the way he spoke (like he was doing a voice over) than wanting to resolve this problem.

As I explained, he would dismiss my concerns adding the age of the unit to being the fault, (as I remind him, it was not how long I had had the device, however, it should be more of a concern of how many times I have used it). He agreed giving me incidences of his on personal usages. As he was moderating but it was more like patronizing me, however and this is the bottom line. I had to remove myself from this most lengthy and frustrating conversation when he said that stainless screws rust. Here is where I found his comment either made up, or if the "engineers," had told him to tell me this, as I asked him straight away. I found it most insulting and severed interest in this ineffective discussion. I have furthered my research and yes, poor quality "stainless," so to speak, screws, will rust, however these are NOT stainless. The last thing you want is a devise that shoots out water and soap and is held on with rusting screws which goes right on to a cream colored carpet.

Now as soon as I plug unit into the socket, it is already coiling back on its own before I can even flip the unit on. Really, is this what I'm to expect from the fine name of Bissell?

I was looking to see if anyone else had the same problem - and I read one reviewer who had the same problem I have. The Bissell sweeper has left a square shaped burnt grill marks on my carpet and it doesn't come out because it is as though it has been cut. I noticed that some of the bristles on the roller have a stiff wire edge and I suspect that is what has caused it. I have had the sweeper for a couple years. I have noticed these marks but didn't know where they came from. I am now afraid to use the sweeper and will contact the company.

Used it 3 times in home with small amount of carpeting & the 4th time, it started leaking a small stream of water from the left rear corner & then a heavy burning electrical smell was present. I turned it off to check the belts & they were fine. Turned it back on & it ran for 30 seconds & stopped forever. It's a shame that I didn't read the reviews on Bissell prior to purchasing, I would have seen that Bissell is no longer a quality minded company.

Purchased a Bissell vacuum as I have purchased many of their products with very few manufacturer problems. This vacuum has never worked correctly. The store at which it was purchased (Best Buy) refused any type of exchange or refund, even with the cash receipt and original packaging, as it had been 17 days. Two days over the 15 day return policy... This vacuum smells of burning rubber and has stopped picking up anything larger than a grain of sand. I have taken it apart numerous times. This was at the manufacturer's request. Still the same outcome. I will never purchase anything made by Bissell again and will tell everyone I know the same thing. I understand there are defective products.

However, the customer should not have to bear the cost of shipping, etc. and be without a vacuum for an extended period of time. I was told by Bissell to purchase a num. After 17 days, the store should gladly exchange or return the item. What do they have to lose? At this point, a loyal customer and every friend and family member that I know. The same goes for Bissell. With social networking, word travels fast and thousands of people can be notified in a very short period of time.

My product is 6 months old, and worked well the first 3 weeks. Since then, I have had continuing problems, mostly with the machine spraying and a couple of times suctioning dirty water. I have done my homework and understand what to do, but I cannot keep troubleshooting, resetting the tank, taking it apart to check belts, etc., for at least 30 minutes to have it work for just a couple passes, or 5 minutes. I have read almost everything I can, and it appears that this is commonplace.

Also, it seems expected from the company. Bissell does recommend taking it to a dealer for repair or replacement parts. Service must be scattered as I have noticed many have quite a distance to do this, as I would if I chose (1 1/2 hour drive). This kind of maintenance is far beyond what any purchased product should demand. Bissell should have their products causing problems sporadically, not as an expected nature of the product. It is a disposable product and the price should the thus. Or they could get their act together and get making something that will last some time.

In March 2013, it stopped sucking. I called Bissell customer service who took me through all the steps I'd already performed - checking the belt, cleaning the filters, etc. Then she said that I'd have to take the vacuum to a local repair shop. The nearest one was 30 minutes away. We took it and were very happy with the staff at the shop. They fixed it and everything was fine until the other day when my vacuum made a popping sound; the headlight got bright, then dim and I smelled ozone. I called the repair shop again who confirmed that they could fix it, but Bissell vacuums usually last only 1.8 years, so I should just toss it and buy a new vacuum.

Really? 1.8 years? I expected a lot more life from an appliance from a known manufacturer. I would have replaced it with another Bissell if it had lasted at least 5 years. But this lifespan is ridiculous. What a waste of landfill space.

Bissell 82G7-01 & Bissell Pro Heat 2x turbo Carpet Cleaner - And we wonder why there is no more products made in the USA! I purchased a Bissell Vacuum from Fry's last August. After six months, the vacuum imploded blowing out dust, the cord frayed from simple wear of winding cord up and attaching the plug. The hose started to fall apart compounded by air filters blowing out dust (air filters that cost $14.00 and were replaced/maintained properly). The engine started to make a high-pitch whirling sound. I called Fry's to inquire about warranty and they gave me Ralph's number as Bissell contract repair guy. Ralph's was the closest service center to my coastal home. I called Ralph explaining the breakdown of the said vacuum and he said indeed it sounded like a warranty issue.

When I brought it in, the service guy was at lunch. There were many vacuums and other units waiting for repair. The first thing they said was I should not have purchased from a Box Store and that the bagless vacuums always blow dust out! Then they said I ran over the hose, that I never changed the filter and that I have abused the machine. I said no, I do use my vacuum everyday, I live in a wonderful neighborhood in the country and that I take care and maintain all my appliance, vacuum, automobile and found myself justifying a clean house. A women said, "Why do you vacuum everyday?" as if that was a crime. They said they would take pictures of the machine and send them to Bissell.

I asked what vacuums they recommend and they said the brand they carry that requires bags and do not blow dust, made in the USA. I was seriously considering purchase of this vacuum. A salesman shared all the pluses, leaving my vacuum to be repaired. One week later, no word and my house desperate for a vacuum cleaning. So I called Ralph's. The women said that Bissell refused the warranty because the vacuum was abused! She said I could call but she was sure that they would not hold up the warranty. I was furious. I was offered a loaner. This is where I would give Ralph's five stars as this was an unexpected and appreciated offer.

My friend went with me to the store to pick up the loaner. I was greeted by a grumpy tech who repairs and reports to the woman, who then called Bissell with their report. When he said "this product has been abused, Bissell will not fix it!", I lost my temper and my voice raised. He rudely retreated to the back shouting up for the woman to come take care of me. The woman came downstairs, as I accused them of bait and switch, meaning they had no intention of repairing the machine but to sell me one of theirs. She too went into the dialogue again of Box Store shopping shame! She then said she would take photos and send them to Bissell. Next day, she called me back, explaining Bissell said it was abuse and would not warrant this vacuum. I asked why would they say that. She gave me the number of Bissell.

Bissell claimed they would not warrant it because Ralph's said I abused the product! Then the agent from Bissell explained that the under filter (which I cleaned religiously) sometimes is sucked into the vacuum causing dust and dirt to flow directly into the motor causing the problem. She specifically admitted a defect, which was only one of the problems with this machine! She also told me that it was Ralph's employees that claim the machine was used and abused and based on that, Bissell would not warrant the machine.

My son returned the loaner vacuum, which again was superior to the Bissell product. Bissell rang back a day later stating that I should pick up the machine from Ralph's and then take it apart, pack it in a box and return it, that Bissell would pay shipping and then they would determine if they would warrant the machine. Last night, I came in from work to hear an absolutely rude message from Ralph's threatening letter with a date on it to throw out the unwarranted abused vacuum if I did not pick it up. Extraordinary! No, Ralph does not carry Bissell as Ralph too explained the inferior made in China product is not dependable and blows dust out, seals breakdown. All this makes sense. I have one that indeed does that! What does not make sense is that instead of listening to what transpired, they made up their own analogy with no intention of even taking a look further.

Bottom line, Ralph's intention is to sell me their product. I would never recommend this place nor would I ever recommend Bissell products or warranty. Lack of integrity is huge! By the way, Ralph and Bissell, I have no intention of picking up the machine, taking it apart, shipping it back or coming into your store to be insulted again! I have purchased a new vacuum elsewhere, local to our coast and who stand not only behind their products sold, does not attack customers' integrity and sensibility or inserts an assumption that one shops at big box stores. There should be a class action suit against Bissell as their products, including the steam cleaner that has only been used twice and now will not suck up water! They knowingly sell products to break. They have your money and do not care one bit about their customers.

The one year warranty is laughable and to end, I was told by the woman at Bissell that it did not matter if I serviced and changed filters as stated in booklet that came with the machine because even if the filter says Bissell on it, it does not mean it is Bissell and therefore, prohibits warranty. The worst company I have ever dealt with!

The motor is smoking and the fan belt is hot and melted. When I had the vacuum in an upright position, cleaning the edges of my carpet and the vacuum melted my carpet. I am only looking for an exact replacement of my current vacuum, as this vacuum was almost 100 Canadian dollars. Please email me regarding this concern.

About a year and 1/2 ago I bought a Bissell Cleanalong Canister Vacuum from Walmart. I've had the pleasure of using it about an average of 3 weeks within that time. Right after the manufacturer's warranty expired it stopped picking up and the "change bag" indicator light came on. The bag was fresh. I called customer service and was told that the light didn't mean change the bag, although under that light it clearly says it does. There is no other indicators on the machine. I was told to run a broomstick through the hose to remove any blockages. The way the hose it made, it's impossible to clear blockages. The hose is attached to a hard, plastic molding that is curved. There's absolutely no way to tell if there's a blockage and no way clear it if there was. It doesn't allow me to run the broomstick through one end and come out the other.

I explained this to customer service by phone and email. Both times I was told to take it their repair shop closest to me. The shop they use is a distance from and I have no intentions on paying for the repair of a defected product. I had to sweep my carpets and grew tired of it, so I decided to try the vacuum again. To my surprise it worked normally. It wasn't long before the same problem occurred. I checked the bottom filter, which was clean and in place, but now I cannot put the cover back on. It's not damaged in anyway and should slide on and stay on. Instead it falls off as soon as I move the vacuum. The bottom of the machine gets so hot that I cannot touch it. I tried replacing the bag and now the door on the canister itself won't close. Like the filter cover, there's no reason it shouldn't stay closed.

The only way to keep it close is to turn the vacuum on so that the suction holds it together. After a few minutes of that. the spring and latch popped off. The vacuum is currently ready for the trash. I want my money back and I've expressed that to Bissell customer service. They told me to take it to their shop, which is what they tell all their unhappy customers.

I purchased a Bissell PowerGroom Vacuum 92L3 series back in January 2011. At first, the product seem to run well, but just 5 months after purchase, the motor surged and melted the roller brush leaving traces into my carpet. The vacuum was still under warranty so I contacted Bissell and went through a troubleshoot process on the phone. I was then informed that the roller brush was not under warranty and that there was nothing to be done, but to replace it. I explained again there was a problem with the motor and I just want the machine replaced. I was told to take it to a service center and it was at their discretion whether this problem was under warranty or not. I am so disappointed that this machine did not even last a year, and it's now the second product of theirs I bought in the past 10 years that has broken within months of purchase.

I am writing about my Bissell Turbo 2, which I bought from Godfrey’s in Botany a couple of years ago, and have had nothing but bother since I bought it. It has been repaired more times than I have used it. I buy all Bissell products, my vacuum and handheld spot cleaner. I would like to ask if there was a problem with them, as I’m not sure if it’s worth getting it fixed again as I'm really disappointed in this machine. I would have expected it to have lasted a while as I only use it now and again, but every time I went to use it, it has a problem.

When I used it today, guess what, the brushes were not working. I’ve done all the checks for troubleshooting, but it’s still not working. I’m sure the pump in it was faulty from day one. So I am wondering, do you think it’s worth another trip to get it fixed at Manukau, or do you have another brand more dependable as I’m thinking of buying a different brand. $600 is lot money for something I never get to use, and what insurance do you give to a new product that's not something you use every day. I just thought to bring it to your attention to see if you had any other trouble with this. I look forward to hearing from you.

We purchased a Bissell Power Groom Bagless Vacuum Series 92L3 from Wal-Mart back in January 2011. At first, it seemed to really do the job; and we were satisfied with the $88 purchase. Then, last week, my husband was vacuuming the living room when a strong odor of burning plastic was detected. He immediately shut off the vacuum (which was extremely hot to the touch) and turned it over to find burnt plastic pieces melted into our carpet. After removing the bottom plate, we discovered the roller brush on one side had completely melted away (while the belt was intact and undamaged). We believe that the motor surged and caused the roller brush to melt.

I was given a Bissell Steam Mop for Christmas 2009. We used the product about a dozen times over a 6-month period when it stopped working. In June, I went to use the machine and all it did was make a horrible grinding noise and was no longer producing steam. I tried a new filter. I tried letting it rest but nothing worked. I contacted Bissell customer service who had me try several different troubleshooting ideas including unscrewing and detaching several pieces of the machine. They offered to have the machine serviced at one of their authorized shops however, the closest shop is 90 minutes away one way. They finally agreed to send me another machine at no cost. I received this new machine in July 2010.

Fast forward to November, 4 short months later, and you guessed, the same grinding noise and no steam. So, I called customer service again and went through the same troubleshooting steps but to no avail. This time, they want me to send the machine back so they can examine it to determine if I have done something wrong! How insulting! Once their experts have inspected the machine, they will either replace it with the same one or return it to me in the condition in which it was received. Again, very insulting! I have asked for a manager to call me at a specific phone number during working hours but they refused. They keep leaving messages at my home while I'm working. I have called what Bissell considers their customer service line a total of 4 times over a period of 6 days and no one with any authority is willing to speak with me. We purchased a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Up-Right Vaccum after reading rave reviews about the machine. We should have waited about three months because that is when all the "Real" reviews came in and is also around the time ours started going south. There is multiple flaws in the design & operation including safety issues. We question the safety of the roller because there is no way to shut off the roller on the vacuum while using the hose attachments. In our case this allowed our machine to roll over the cord and chew up the electrical cord. The unit creates so much dust in the house it seems that we would be living on a ranch yet we live in a suburban area of Northern California plus spews the smell of dog all through the hose while we vacuum. It is nasty.

Another issue is the containment system for the pet hair the cone gets clogged constantly and we can only use the vacuum for about three minutes before we have to literally take the machine apart & clean it out so it will work again. It has been a complete nightmare to use. The HEPA filter gets so much dust & dirt in it that it i added a bit of moisture I could make clay. It seems the machine does not effectively move the dust, dirt & hair to the containment container. I have read multiple complaints & bad reviews on this machine to date & I can not believe it has not been recalled. I told Bissell today that I can't believe they are still manufacturing the machine because of all the problems with the engineering/design.

The electrical cord had been cut and taped up with electrical tape on it, this is how we knew it was refurbished. I called about that, and they wouldn't replace it. I decided to cut my losses and just not fight it out, to be grateful that they replaced the bad one to start with. I go a year and a half, and use the replacement maybe three times. I have a Bissell PowerForce turbo bag less vacuum 6585 series. I bought this at Wal-Mart (Illinois) in July of 2009. As of today May 22, 2010 it stopped spinning the brush and is now smoking or smells of fire. It’s not picking anything up. I turned it off right away and aired out my house of the smell and smoke. I am very concerned about it starting on fire with my little children in my home. I contacted Bissell customer service right away. I checked the belt and it’s in perfect working order. I checked the brush and it’s also clean.

Customer service asked me to manually turn the brush and I can't. It won't turn at all. I then was told from customer service that the brush froze up and right away she starts talking fast telling me that it is because of dust and it can be replaced for $13.99 and shipping cost. I right away asked what does she mean I have to pay for an item that is defective due to dust? I was getting no where with her and she continued to state that Bissell does not cover the brush under their warranty nor is that their problem that it’s defective and dies in less then a year from dust causing it to freeze up. I also asked her what does she think people use their vacuum for decoration. I am very angry that Bissell is charging customers for this.

I then demanded a supervisor to speak about this. I was not satisfied with what I was being told and demanded a replacement free of charge after I spend my hard earned money on their product. It’s still in a one-year warranty and I even have bought an extended warranty when I bought it. I was put on hold and the lady came back to tell me that Bissell will send me my part for free this one time and I made sure to get a order number, so if I don't receive my part in 7-10 business days as stated I will then file a claim with the BBB. I spend money on all their filters and make sure it’s in great working order. Anyone that has one of these types of vacuums knows that those filters cost money. What a shame that Bissell vacuums are not being made with quality anymore. I don't recommend others to waste money on a product that is not going to last. I hope that my post helps others if they are in my situation and or looking to buy a vacuum, then they know what to expect from Bissell.

In the first two hours I owned it, it rolled on top of its cord while I was cleaning the drapes and wore a hole through the cord, then it rolled on top of a sock and started smoking! I really think this model needs a recall. How much could it have cost to put a clutch in the thing?! Similar models in the same price range have this feature. On top of this danger, it makes the machine very messy. It kicks up carpet fibers and dirt since the vacuum head is constantly spinning. As you can see by their response that was a waste of time because they denied it for the same reason as the original one, no machine to examine. I would have thought that the proof that I did have this machine, the proof that it was returned and pictures showing damage to only the areas of my sofa cleaned would be enough for them to honor my claim. They told me to take it up with Service Merchandise because they advised me improperly. Of course now that Service Merchandise is days away from closing for good I have nowhere to turn. I am only asking to have my sofa cleaned professionally.
