I am so not happy with your bank. After speaking with two different managers at different branches over the deposit hold, I was assured there would be no problems. I have another deposit hold on another account for $9,500. There is no question, I am done with Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo is a joke. There is not one person I have spoken with who has banked with Wells that is a satisfied customer. I have banks begging for my business. I received mail from Key Bank offering me $200 to come bank with them as a business partner. I am doing it. Here's why:

    1) Wells Fargo charges more than any other bank for overdraft and other fees.
    2) Wells Fargo will pend internal transfers and even cash deposits.
    3) Wells Fargo is grossly inefficient in handling deposits.

    4) Wells is clueless from branch to branch and no one has any authority to make things right.

Here's the icing on the cake ... My account became overdrawn by -$34 because an internal transfer was pending. The OD threw me into OD. To top that off, I took a check in from a customer for $9,400 and Wells Fargo put a 5-day hold on it because my account was OD. I am going to not only present this to the local Get Gephardt program on channel four here in Utah. I am filing a complaint with the FTC. I believe Wells Fargo is keeping people's money in an effort to skim interest off the money they hold.

Being a web evangelist, I am going to post my entire experience with Wells Fargo on Twitter, which is currently reaching out to 10 million users in the US alone, and ask for people's experience with Wells Fargo. We will let the stories speak for themselves and just maybe corporate will listen. Enough is enough!

On Dec 4, 2008 I was contacted by a Ms. Naudia Fields of Wells Fargo, stating that Wells Fargo understood that we were getting behind on our payments and that Wells Fargo wanted to assist us in catching up our payments. Ms. Fields then made an offer of payment deferment on our Wells Fargo account. At that time 2 payment arrangements were set up for an amount totaling $540.14. I was notified that the next payment would not be due until February 2009. Over the next few weeks I was still receiving collection calls. My wife and I again phoned Ms. Fields and asked that the calls be stopped since we had made previous arrangements. I inquired about the payment deferment, she stated that everything was set up and that no payments were due for two months and she would update the account to stop the calls. She then apologized for the inconvenience and advised us to ignore the calls until they were stopped. At no time were we contacted and notified that an issue existed with our arrangements. In February 2009, my wife and I entered into contract for a purchase of a home and at that time we were notified by the mortgage lender that we had negative 30 day marks on our credit report from Wells Fargo. Weve tried several times to contact Wells Fargo on this matter, but since there are no real supervisors that handle these accounts we have been unsuccessful on finding the right person to help resolve this matter. Then on March 2, 2009 my wife spoke with Kim of Wells Fargo, who seemed to be willing to help. She looked over the account with my wife and urged her to write to the Credit Dispute Department of Wells Fargo. Kim stated that it appeared that we had a legitimate complaint and that Wells Fargo should be willing to clear the matter up quickly. A letter was drafted stating all the facts, dates, times and names of representatives that were spoken with. The letter was mailed by USPS certified mail on March 12, 2009. The certified return receipt card stated the dispute letter was received on March 16, 2009. And today March 23rd we have received a letter of denial of our dispute dated March 17, 2009. The letter stated that no changes are to be made on this account and the negative marks still remain. I feel as if we have been brushed aside again by Wells Fargo, by this flimsy 1 day dispute process. This is why I am contacting the FTC. I feel that I am being treated unfairly and I don't believe that my dispute has been given the proper attention that it deserves. And I want something done to Wells Fargo legally to prevent this from happening to many other unsuspecting consumers.

Basically, Wells Fargo Cut my credit line from 21,000 to 10,600 without notifying me (I got a letter a few weeks later and after I called furious), didnt honor my 5.9 apr which i negotiated in November until i caught it in March and said I had paid them late which i didnt, and which they admitted to after showing my dated bank withdraws. They left me with $2 credit, will not refund me the for the 3 months at 16% apr and wont increase my line. They said they cut the credit line because of a report they got showing that I have 2 cards (one is theirs) with balances that are just over half of the credit alloted. So they give me 21k to use but then punish me for using 10k of it. .. and now I have a maxed out card for the first time in my life.

We transferred our 401K to Wells Fargo when Richard lost his job. The stock has gone up and down and we have drawn against it for our daughters education and living expenses the past few years. We didn't have a lot into the fund but this is the only savings we had and in less than a month we lost over 50% when we were supposed to be in low risk. Our friends and other family members have money invested in funds and none of them lost anything near what we did. We trusted this individual and throughout our time dealing with him he called us only a couple of times. We sincerely feel our stock was not in low risk and we trusted in Wells Fargo and this individual to pay attention to our investment and felt he should have contacted us to let us know there were such drastic losses. We had no idea we could lose over 50% of what we had when we our money was supposed to be in low risk funds.

I had gotten a car from Wells Fargo 6-2006 and was always on time, because of a medical billing error I needed my mother to co-sign. I was involved in a accident on 10-2007 and the car was totalled out. My insurance company Progressive paid the Actual cash Value on the car and My GAP insurance after the investigation paid the rest. I even paid the totalled cars payments thru this process and it was paid in full on 12-2007. On 3-4-2009 I needed a second vehicle. Yes I bought another one right after without a co-signer.
I pulled my credit bureaus and found that wellsfargo had reported my car loan as Settled for less than full amount Profit and Loss Writeoff. I immediately called my mother and had her check her credit bureaus, the same thing. I contacted Wells Fargo and spoke to 3 people, the customer service reps showed what I was saying exactly word for word. The Credit Dispute and Resolution Deapartment tolf me that they did report it Paid in Full I-1 perfect payment history. I have the proff you did not. There answer was for me to fax and prove it. I did, they then replied that I needed to send the 3 credit bureaus a letter disputing what they had on them. What? Wells Fargo is the Lender who reported the error they need to fix the error. They can take 5 minutes and re-report to all 3 Credit Agencies the correct information. They will not, the refuse to. They have tarnished my credit and my mothers. In california they were just ordered to pay millions in damages for the same thing on a mortgage case. You think they would learn but evidentally not. I as of this morning am pulling all of my accounts from them, of which I have been a memember for more than 5 years.

Wells Fargo Auto finance claimed that the first 7 months payments were late. I was told I could mail them in and was doing so a month before the due date. They told me each one was late and it was my fault, I told them I was mailing them and I don't control the mail, they told me it's my problem. Have lost my job, the one I was working when I bought the car, they told me it was my problem that I need to find a way to make the payments on time. I told them they could have the car, I'll give it up, they told me they didn't want it then turn around and threaten to take it. There wasn't a phone call that came in where somebody wasn't yelling at me. Yes! yelling at me. When the supervisor called he threatened to take it the car, I told him either take or shut up about it because they can't make up there minds if they want it or not and they are just harrassing me. He told me that I had a bad attitude and I told them that they give me a bad attitude and yell at me every time they call. On top of that, I'm told something different each and everytime I talk to someone. There is no set policy, they keep changing it and going back on what they said and it's making me look worse. I am still struggling with finances and they still call up to 5 times a day. Even after I talk to someone about the situation they still call. Harassing me. Each time I explain the situation to somebody, they tell me something different and the calls still keep coming. This can't be legal!

Here is another incompetent company that can not understand that people change banks and bank accounts from time to time. I notified Wells Fargo a month ago that I was switching banks, from Wachovia to Suntrust. Wells Fargo mailed me some paperwork and I sent it back with a voided check to the new account. So what's the problem? right? The problem is that today,I get a call from a rude, obnoxious & hateful woman who goes by Arlene ( no last name,of course! ) and she she gave me a number that goes with her evil self,W445. I'm guessing that stands for Witch 445. This woman refused to give me a mailing address for future car payments. I informed her that I do not have time to babysit WellsFargo and if they can not comprehend the new account, then I would just go back to the old fashioned way of mailing it in,monthly. This woman was so rude that I finally hung up and called back after I calmed down but all I got was more bad customer service, telling me that I would be charged late fees, plus a charge for paying with a check over the phone. HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE GETTING AWAY WITH THIS? Gauging their clients and being rude, hateful and incompetent?!

I Darryle S Shelly , am herby demanding that my accounts be closed , effective immediately . The reason that I am taking this action is because of the unacceptable policies that are being utilized at my expense , and I am literally fed up with your " Greedy " Business Practices " . In my banking experiences - over the past thirty years , dealing with many other financial institutions , I have never encountered the amount of problems with overdraft fees that are constantly reoccurring with my checking account . The practice of your credit /debit posting practices are " Shady " at best . An example of this , is posting debits on a holiday ( A Non Banking Business Day ) and not posting the credits that were pending also , until the next day , with your continual overdraft trap , designed to gouge your customers . I find this practice to be horrendous and despicable . Wells Fargo should be ashamed , and should be nominated to the "' Hall of Shame " . I have a question for Wells Fargo ? " If the money isn't in the account , Then why aren't the transactions denied ?" It seems that your computers are programmed to build revenue - In Wells Fargo's favor , at the customer's expense , by dragging it's heels to notify customers of their overdraft status until days later , believing that they had a positive balance in their account ( according to your current computer account information data ) , that they rely on - continuing to make minor purchases and being fleeced with overdraft charges . " Is there a human-being monitoring these computers ? " that is a scary thought . Don't rely on your online banking service , which is totally useless in my opinion . I have never had problems with other banks , because they were predictable and consistent . Banking with Wells Fargo is much like going to a casino with the customer service of an all night - Taco Bell Drive thru . In closing , I know that Wells Fargo does not care , about me , the customer and that is ok too . If my small business ever takes off , rest assured - that my money will certainly not be deposited with Wells Fargo Bank ... I am not the only disgruntled customer of Wells Fargo Bank , here are some other customer complaints from the many disgruntled customers ( too many to list ) whom have left your institution ... I also wish upon Wells Fargo - that the fleas of a thousand camels , infest their arm pits !!! " Wells Fargo Bank " one of the carbuncles on the butt of mankind ...

as called by Sr. credit manager Chris Ives to consolidate credit cards to 1 monthly payment. We went to the office to see what they could do for her. Chris told us in order to get my fiance' cards brought to 1 monthly payment with a good apr rate and a manageable payment he suggested to refinance our toyota corolla which we had a 7.9apr for 60 month and put her cards with that in order to bring the cost of her monthly payments down. Chris had mention to me being part of this loan in order for her to better qualify for the refinance of her Veachle as well as consolidating her cards for the purpose of using my income to show more income on the new loan. I told Chris that I didn't want to use me because of my bankruptcy and that I knew my score would hurt her but he reassure me that my score wouldn't be used and that they would use her score which 700's and the only reason they needed me was for my income. I said that sounds good to me as long as we
use her credit score and get an apr rate that is lower than 10% he reassured me again that it wouldn't be a problem. That was our 1st visit .We had to come back because they needed some info from me. A few days later we came back and started the paper work to get the loan through and it was close to closing time for them so they where in a rush to make sure our loan was processed. While that was being processed Chris was going over the paper work and telling us what our loan was going to be which was writing down on another blank piece of paper with the number of 9.6 apr rate and a 60 month payment of 440 a month Thats exactly what I wanted to get done. Problem #1 we didnt receive exactly what we went in for, instead we got checks to pay off little credit cards to the amount of $3000 and also the payoff to our car to the amount of $17000 . We had looked over the paper work we had signed and also the page with the numbers he had written on a blank piece of paper, with all the normal things on a loan document. Problem #2 we got home and realized that we where missing the 2 important checks. I gave Chris a call he said that they might have gotten printed so after days of calling him back and trying to get answer from him he finally had told me that he wasn't able to get those cards in to our loan and he told me that we where max out on how much money they could loan us and the other thing was we never received a copy of page two which had the loan numbers as far as apr rate the trem of the loan which showed 9.6 and 60 month term for 440 i had given him a call for that at was told by Chris that it was a dmv paper work and wasn't necessary to have and I ask him are you sure because it says on page one that page two has all the numbers and Chris said i am pretty sure but I will give you a call back that never happened. A month later we received the bill which showed apr rate of 17.74. Are you kidding me!

My wife and I went to our local wells fargo mortgage center in Colorado to ask about refinancing our two auto loans that are currently with a credit union. We pay 7.5% interest and have credit scores just below 700.
We sat with an account manager for Wells Fargo and the first offer was to give us two lines of credit, one for each vehicle at 160% of their book value which would be significant cash out to our pockets. The interest rate would be an undetermined percent between 12 and 20% and of course the application and refi fees. When we explained that was a ridiculous offer, the account manager then, already having all our financial information, noticed we had about 50K in equity in our home and proceeded to push very hard for a debt consolidation consisting of our two credit card debts and the two autos. My continued comments that I do not want to place unsecured debt against our house had absolutely no affect in their strategy to lock us in a loan with them. As a last ditch effort, we were offered two credit card accounts with a combined 9k limit at 18%. When I asked why in the heck we would even consider more credit when we came in to refi two autoloans, the response was “this would help our credit scores. Its baloney like this that the public needs to realize. Wells Fargo’s only goal was to get us to take out cash and credit to get us further in debt and at a much higher interest rate then that which we already have. This is so typical of lending institutions when you’re not independently wealthy. You’re just another victim if you believe the rubbish and misleading advice they give you. John Stumpf, CEO of Wells Fargo could make the decision to offer competitive rates to help people refi to lower rates which would save consumer funds, increase savings, and that would promote spending too. Wells Fargo has predatory like lending practices and should have to pay the government back since they can’t account for billions of dollars they accepted from taxpayers.

For a long time, I was at the max balance due to not having a lot of money, but I always made my payment using the website when it was posted. When I got my tax return I used the money to pay off the balance. I was getting ready to move and I was going to use the card to pay for moving expenses (I wasn't going to use it all and whatever I didn't use would keep the balance down). The next day my account showed that my credit line was cut from 2,000 to 350 dollars. When I called customer service they said this was due to my credit report but declined to elaborate. I have credit monitoring which allows me to view my credit report when I want. there has been no changes on my credit report for months. I called back and explained and found out WF had used the fact I was at the max to cut my limit. I found out that WF had been planning to do this for months, and wasted no time in gleefully slashing my credit line when I made the payment. The customer service reps I spoke to were rude and refused to restore the credit line or take my long history as a good customer into consideration. I was basically told sorry about my now messed up gove but I owed them the money (no duh, really?) and that was that. I am now scrambling to cover moving espcenses.

I had the poorest experience with my current banking institution, Wells Fargo. I thought you may be interested in how they treat their struggling customers. I already live in a poor neighboorhood, in a poor city and barely make ends meet to begin with and when I run into issues, I contacted my bank, and the brushed me aside. I guess I was told WAY back when I was opening my account, YEARS ago, that when a number of payments are pending and they DO process, they go in order from largest to smallest amount. I was told this was because larger things tend to be important payments, mortgage, rent, gas, electric, etc. But guess what, when that happened to me, it cause 8, EIGHT, overdraft fees. Now, instead of being negative $118, plus 1 overdraft fee, or maybe even 2 or 3 if things were processed in any other order, I have 8. Now, that -$118 + $35 overdraft, plus the other items that did process AFTER the largest fee is now -$404 . This is extremely unreasonable. Supposedly i cannot get 7 of the 8 fees removed, but they are so kind to, if i need, extend my due date if I need more time. I already over drafted and screwed that up, but 8 fees, at $35 each is completely unreasonable and POOR business. I feel lost and frustrated and do NOT have the money to take care of this. I feel like the financial institutions played hookey for a decade and are now deciding to clench everyone in their fist now.

My husband and I had submitted a loan requset to Wells Fargo via their internet. We received a call from a Wells Fargo representative. After advising the amount we would like to refinance our vehicle we were declined because the balance is higher than the value. They had not checked our credit at this point. As far as both my husband and I were concerned and based on what we were advised, we were denied due to the balance on the vehicle was greater than the value. So why did they then proceed to still check our credit? They had no need. They had already declined our loan request. But we have now received a letter indicating that they checked our credit and we were declined due to our credit. I agree, we have less then perfect credit, but how can they still check our credit and have our less than average credit score reduced when they had already determined we were not eligible for a loan for other reasons?

They called WF customer service and they said they did not have any records of a stop

My parents are not well educated and do not speak English very well so they are frightened they will not get their money back when they did the right thing. They also do not feel protected considering it was a large bank like Wells Fargo which they trusted. What can I do to have this branch reclaim my parents money since it was their fault they did not electronically enforce the stop payment?

I have banked with Wells Fargo for over 9 years. My account initially was opened in the state of WA. While I resided in WA, I had very little if any problems with my accounts. In 2006 we were transfered to SD at which time I started having all kinds of problems with the posting of my deposits and credits and my accounts were racking up enormous amounts of overdraft fees. No one would tell me what was going on. Wells Fargo would continue to approve any; and I mean any, amount of charges while using my debit card and continued to just charge me overdraft fees. Over the last two years I have had thousands of dollars in overdraft fees and what it all finally came down to is - and you from WA state note this - for the state of WA, Wells Fargo deducts all charges FIRST, and then posts your deposits. This is no joke. I used to be able to mail bills out on Wednesday, deposit my paycheck on Friday and everything was fine. No longer is this the case. If that deposit is not in the bank and not pending, it's an overdraft. I've tried to get overdraft protection, I cannot qualify for it. I've tried the Savings Account attached to the checking account and they play with your money back and forth between the accounts so you can never figure out where your money is. Also I was told that in the state of WA - all those nightly transactions that appear when you look at your account at the end of the banking day are NOT pending - your deposit may be but those transactions are considered cleared and they will hit you with overdraft fees. I have direct deposit advance on my account. I use to be able to take money from this and put it into my account and the monies were available immediately. I've just learned the hard way that they've apparently changed that too. I noticed while doing some banking early (5am cst) on monday that I was going to overdraft my account. I took an advance and the advance was not posted until the end of the banking day - overdrafting my account (big time!!) I just don't understand how they can do this!?! Overdraft fees are a snowball effect; if you don't know you are overdrawn or the bank does not stop a transaction on a debit card from going thru, you end up with hundreds of dollars in overdraft fees. Why can't debit cards be treated like credit cards in that if the funds are not there, you cannot use it? I have a debit card from another bank and if the funds are not there I can't use it!

Wells Fargo continuously withholds application of account debits and systematically applies those debits in an order and at such time as to generate and maximize overdraft fees. They apply the largest debits first which I am told is a legal practice. Even if this practice is legal, they should not be able to withhold the debits, essentially hiding them from view.

On Jan 3rd 2009 I was shocked and surprised to learn someone without my authorization did remove $7870 from my Wells Fargo Checking account without notice or my authorization. Left me with $160 on that account. The transaction was done on 12/19/2008.
Upon inquiry at a branch I was further shocked and surprised to learn that the unauthorized taking of my funds was performed illegally by Well Fargo Bank Recovery Department without cause, legal notice or justification to me. To ensure that the taking of my funds on deposit was an illegal act or action, I then inquire of Wells Fargo Bank of a copy of the terms and conditions of my Personal line of credit which was in default to be sure that the bank does not have the legal right to take my funds without due process of law. However, the Recovery Dept. said according to the financial disclosure they have absolutely right to offset the debts. My argument is, I NEVER signed any legal agreement/contract nor application paper with them, which means that I was not aware of any of those terms and conditions. Then they said even without signed application form, the transactions done by me are considerred equal bonding contract.

They cited my Experian credit report as one reason, the other reasons being number of months since my credit card has been delinquent and recent cash balances as compared to the recent total balances of your credit card account. I obtained my Experian credit report and it lists zero negative findings (including 4 different Wells Fargo accounts: my mortage, my home equity loan, my checking reserve, and my Visa) and 28 accounts in good standing with zero late payments. As of my last statement, my available credit is 12,215 out of a 19,000 credit line (i.e., I have borrowed less than 1/3 of the limit), and there is no information regarding my cash advance limit, but clearly it is within the original agreement. I have filed complaint after complaint, and I have faxed and mailed proof of those two missing payments. To this day, they will not credit my account. I have paid 1000s of dollars in late fees and my credit is screwed up because of it. They will not work with me. They will not look for the payments. I am talking to an attorney about filing a suit against them. I am not sure what to do from here. I just want to be credited for those two payments and the late fees to be applied back on the loan. This is not my fault. I have done everything they have asked and they will not give me my money back nor credit my account nor will they fix my credit.

I made one of the biggest mistakes of my life when I borrowed $1000 from Wells Fargo Financial in Dec. 06. At the time, it was a move of desperation so that we could have a nice Christmas, but this company has ruined my credit and continues to harass me nonstop. During the first 6 months of the loan, I was late making one payment which was in March 07. It was only about 2 weeks late, and I made more than a double payment to make up for it (paid $100, when each payment was only $35). Then, for 3 consecutive months, Wells Fargo Financial reported me as 30 days late to all the credit bureaus.

I went online and checked my account history, which showed I was NEVER 30 days late and always paid between $50 and $100 a month. I called to dispute this and the customer service agent I spoke with told me that because I was late for my March payment, the following 3 months also were past due. What? Are you crazy? I made more than a double payment in April to make up for the missed payment and still they report me 30 days past due for 3 months?

I filed a dispute with all of the credit reporting agencies (TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian). They investigated, and even though I sent them all proof that I was never 30 days late, they denied my dispute to reverse the reports on my credit files. Apparently, they contacted Wells Fargo Financial and they provided false information about my account, somehow justifying the past due reports. I continued to call Wells Fargo Financial customer service, and was told a supervisor would be looking into it... but never got any responses. Once again, I sent proof to the credit reporting agencies that this was incorrect, and have not heard anything since Aug. 07.

Unfortunately, I have been laid off since Feb. 08 and have had some trouble keeping up with bills. Occasionally, I would forget to make the WFF payment online, and would get calls until it was paid. The problem is that these people call NON-STOP all day long! Recently, finances have become even tighter and I forgot to make my payment online in Nov./Dec. I repeatedly asked WFF nicely not to call my house before 10 am, but they call every morning between 7-8:30 am. Now they are just blatantly harassing me at this point, because they call at least 10 times per day and say nothing when I pick up the phone, or hang up on me. I only owe $65, and I do have the money to pay but because these people seem to feel the need to harass me over and over and over again, I refuse to pay them ever again.

I can also understand the people who have complained about Wells Fargo Bank. Last Feb., I opened a bank acct. with them online strictly for internet purchases (eBay, PayPal, etc.) to protect my regular bank acct. from hackers. I had to transfer money from my WaMu acct. to open it. The money left my WaMu acct. but never showed up in the Wells Fargo acct. After a week, I started to get upset and continued to call and send emails about where my $200 went. They said it was still processing, and I had to wait. I emailed them that I would be closing this account as soon as my money showed up, because waiting over a week with my money floating in cyberspace somewhere was totally ridiculous. So then some jerk who saw my email decides to close my account right then before the money came in. I drove to the nearest Wells Fargo branch after customer service on the phone did nothing to tell me why or when my acct. got closed. The branch lady got the same results by calling them and was just as frustrated with their incompetence as I was. My money finally got returned to my WaMu account, but it took another week after that.

Wells Fargo, no matter what division, is by far the worst financial institution in the United States. They steal people's money; they close accounts with no authorization. They indiscriminately report past due on people's credit files with no proof, and they are rude and harass people with non-stop phone calls.

When October rolled around, I knew my payment was going to be at least 3-4 days late. I contacted Wells Fargo 4 days before my payment was due and explained the situation. I told them exactly when I was able to pay and they told me there was no problem since I had a 10 day grace period and I called ahead of time to set up arrangements. I was releived. I thought everything was fine, I did everything I should of as a customer. The day the payment was due, they immediatly called my cosigner asking where the payment was. Didn't call me, but my cosigner who is my 80yr old grandmother. They continued to harrass her and myself for those 4days until my payment showed up on my account. What I don't understand is..I did everything I was suppose to. I'am starting a new job December 1st but I still had to worry about my November payment. So, to avoid what happended in October, I called Wells Fargo and set up a electronic check payment with them (extra $10.00 fee). Again, the harrassing started. They DO have my check listed but since it hasn't hit my account yet, they have continued to call non-stop. Everytime they call, I tell them to look into my account and they see the check. I get a oh and then they apologize and tell me they note on the account that it is paid. Needless to say, a few hours later, they start with the non-stop calling. The thing that puzzles me is, they always contact my cosigner first (which upsets her). I never it my life have ever had a company do that. I called and set up arrangments and i'm told there is no problem then they harrass me. NEVER AGAIN will I ever deal with this company. They are horrible and rude. We had just paid rent so we only had a few hundred in the account. They overdrew our account by 200 dollars. then they took two hundred off the line of credit to cover the overdraft. In other words they took money that wasnt due to them out of our account so that we could pay them higher interest on money we didnt owe yet. Then twenty days later even though the accounts were paid already and they both said current and nothing owed Wells Fargo again debited our account. This time by 800 dollars. 400 hundred for each account. We were left with 300 dollars for the month to feed a family of 5 and pay bills. We then opened an account at another bank and put in a change of direct deposit at his work. Apparently this somehow notified Wells Fargo of the change and they debited the account again. My husband called to complain because we didnt owe any money andhe was told that the bank was just ensuring the account would stay current and then they told him we couldnt close the bank account until it was at 0. Too bad was the Wells Fargo employee told me. I faxed information. They affected my credit, I sent payments thru the Consumer Credit Counselling Service to them.

When filling out the appl and talking with the agent, i was lied to from day one. I went to Wells because i have banked with them for more than 15 years and they said, they could get me a loan and get it funded quickly. I am scheduled to have a bunch of medical treatments (much of which will not be covered by insurance, and i need money to pay for it.) They said it would be no problem to have my loan funded by the middle of September. Well they stalled and stalled and we finally signed docs on the 19th.

They told me money would be in my account on Thursday the 25th. When it wasn't i called. They appearently lost my loan docs. We went in and signed again on the 25th and i was promised that the money would be there on Friday. It wasn't. I called on Monday the 29th and they needed my husband and i to sign more document. We did and faxed them back only to find out that No, it won't fund today yet again. It might fund tomorrow on the 30th.

I was recently charged a late fee from a credit card with Wells Fargo. The check I mailed was mailed 14 days in advance. The late fee applied was posted as one day late. I find this hard to believe as the next months payment was received in only two days. After talking with the customer service I was allowed a one time waiver of this fee which I accepted but complained about. I was told that they couldnt be responsible for the mail service. My response to that was neither can I and that two weeks should have been a sufficient amount of time.

I have an excellent payment history and have an excellent credit score. In short I pay all my bills on time. I choose not to use online methods of payment due to fears of identity theft.

There were not any consequences this time around. The check was mailed in plenty of time before it was due. I realize things happen and so should the credit card companies. 1. The mail could have been delayed possibly due to a storm (IKE). 2. Mail got lost. 3. Mail got lost in the mailroom at the credit card company 4. Human error (probably)! In short a reasonable company and a Postmark would resolve any reasonable doubt. Please pass this along to any one that can help me change this policy. Thank You

I deposited my disability check two days prior and the fees still posted.I tried contacting the bank via email twice only to be told theres nothing i can do. I called the bank and asked for the corporate office information and was placed on hold and the representative never returned.

The second email response from the bank told me to read the disclosure and no where does it say the bank can charge as many fees as they want with no end. The limit should be two or three and the transactions after that should be declined just as credit cards do. If Wells Fargo could not charge customers outrageous fees these transactions would have simply been declined.

This is a CA State Disability check and says so on it. This was my rent, food and medication money that was suppose to last me three weeks and Im down to NOTHING. I am writing to file a complaint against Wells Fargo Financial. At the beginning of my loan I was deceived because it was not disclosed that I did not have an escrow account. Nine months into my loan I received a letter from clark county treasure telling me that I was $1,500 behind on my property taxes. I contacted wells fargo financial and I received a letter several days later after the fact stating that they are not responsible for propety taxes or homeowners insurance.

I have been deceived and it has caused me financial hardship when I have to come up with an additional $3,000 a year along with my mortgage payments. I filled out a hardship application with wells fargo financial. Enclosed was proof of my income, outstanding debt, and justification why I am having hardship. I explained that at the time that I refinanced my loan I had one child and now I have two and they both have medical problems. Channel 13 our local news station gave a number to a non profit organization called HOPE.NOW which is to prevent foreclosures.

My counsler Mary had made several attempts contacting Derek W. to try to modify my loan by adjusting my interest rate or lowering my monthly payments to help me get through this difficult time. Derek Wilcox told me that I am capable of paying my mortgage payment so I do not qualify for a loan modification. They also stated that I have an additional $2,000 a month in my bank account and what I am doing with my money. I asked them where was that account located because by right I would like to claim that money. I was willing to fax over proof of my bank statements from January until most current which will show $2oo.oo between pay periods, several overdrafts and paycheck advances that I have been taking just to pay my mortgage to avoid the $100.00 late fees.

I spoke with Derek W. on July the 12th and he informed that my mortgage payment was late. I explained to hime that I had $1,500 of my $2,000 mortgage payment and I will be a week late paying my mortgage. He told me that they would accept the $1,500 for July's payment which was automatically withdrawn from account. Two weeks later I received a letter stating that july's payment was not received and that I owed $2,185.00 which included the late fees for that month. I have been deceived once again because I do not have an ESCROW ACCOUNT and the $1,500 was not applied to my mortgage so I am trying to understand where the money went. My account is current and I have paid all the late fees the following month to bring my account current.

The mortgage payments are withdrawn from my bank account each month so I can provide documentation showing that they have received payments in a timely manner. My account is now showing 30 days past due and I am receiving daily calls asking when am I going to send the payment. I am so behind on past due utility bills and property taxes because my first priority has been my mortgage payments and I have neglected to pay other bills. My last conversation with Derek W. was that wells fargo had wanted to offer me a deal which was they would waive next months month to add to the end of my loan but I had to sign aggrement to have my payments automatically withdrawn from my account every month. I explained to Derek W. that I could not agree on the terms because I work in the tipping industry and I am not guaranteed to make the same amount of money so I can not agree on the terms. He then told me that they can not help me at this time. I also told Derek that one month is not going to help me when I am having difficulties paying my mortgage. He gave me advice which was my obligation is to pay my mortgage so I need to sell my automobiles, work to full time jobs, or get a better job to pay my bills. I refused to be belittled by him or anyone else.

My credit scores is in the 700's which has proved that I am a responsible person. Due the way the econony has been I am doing the best to my ability. There was an article in yesterday's paper Sunday morning stating that HOPE.NOW has helped more than 500,000 people, so my question is why I am not among these people. I am asking for help but I am being turned away because my account is not in serious delinquency. DUE to my account being 30 days past due it will be reported to credit bureau which will affect my credit. Wells Fargo was aware that I had partial payment for the month of july and they aggreed to take the money so it was should be applied to my mortgage or return my money. I am trying to avoid foreclosure and I will do whatever means neccesary. Thank you for your time.

I explained all I had was 100.00 she started threatening to come get the truck, asking where it was, is it in a garage, etc.. I told her all I had was 100.00 until my unemployment kicks in. she again stated that was not enough. I asked repeatedly for the mailing address, and she refused to give it to me. She started yelling saying well if you cant afford your truck, and we cant have you being late, etc.

I asked to speak to a manager, and she asked why i was getting irrate with her, i explained economy sucks, and a lot of people are having a bad time - she kept saying she wants cash and sent in money gram. I said no, I have a 100.00 money order and would send it it, give me the address, she refused again. I asked for her manager, she transferred me to a lady named LAQUAN and she said she lost her mom too, but still pays her bills and her car note!!! this broke my heart. (my mom was my best friend, and I will never be over her death) I then got loud with her, and stated you cant get blood out of a turnip, and I was doing the best I could, I had 100.00 I would send them and to give me the address, she placed me on hold, when she returned, she said that would not "hold" the account.

I said just give me the address and I wanted the other womans name, she refused to give me her name, and stated i would have to speak to her manager. she gave me the po box mailing address and sent me to oblivian in the phone system. I also want to state that in the past, when i was late on my truck payment, they would call the "day" after it was due. and when I would explain I would pay in two days or 4 days or whatever the case may have been, they still call 5-15 times a day every day and as late at 11pm at night.

I mailed the 100.00 money order and a 160.00 check, which was part of my house payment. just to get them off my back, but I know they will still call tomorrow and the next day, and the next day. I have also previously asked for extensions on the truck payment and they refuse those as well, stating "they dont file extensions" I just need a break, to get back on my feet again. they are harassing, belittling and threatening me all the time. I miss my mom, so much since her death on 6/18 and to have that lady tell me that, and then to loose my job so shortly after on 6/30. wells fargo is just always humilating me, and they even told my ex husband who was here once (he answered the phone, i was gone.) and they told him I owed them money on the truck and better get it paid! how embarassing.

My banking account for Wells Fargo overdrafted. I was unaware of this. I went about a week without noticing what was going on. When I did find out the account had twenty overdraft fees posted. That was thirty five dollars a pop. During this time I had called Wells Fargo for another issue. They even upsold me on one of there products while my account was overdrawn. I paid the fees and made the account positive. I wanted to close the account after this and was refused.

Thats right. They would not let me close the account. They said all transactions had to close out before I could close it. The balance said I had 11.74 left. I moved that out to make the balance 0.00 so I could close it. When all the transactions went through the online statement gave the the incorrect information. It had overdrafted twice again for eight dollars. Seventy more dollars in fees for eight dollars overdrawn. This is absurd. They will not let me close the account and they keep charging me fees.

I paid over seven hundred dollars in fees for over drafting about three hundred. They have put me through mental anguish and caused me to be late on other bills. How long will they left me keep using my card while my account is in the negative? Why did they not tell me something was wrong with the account. All they care about is making money off there customers no matter what. Small claims court here I come!

I am unable to pay other bills because of the large ammount of fees incured. I was already in financial hardship due to my Mortgage company giving me wrong information. I am now late on most of my bills for this month because I do not have the money to pay them. There customer service is horrible and will not even look into the matter. They seem like they are reading from a script they are given and will not even talk to me like a human being. I am furious!

Their system can electronically shut down the use of the debit card for insufficient funds, yet they chose to allow each transaction in order to collect the overdraft fees. They should have flagged the crediting/payment/banking system on the first transaction and terminated the use of the card, but they allowed the processing of subsequent transactions for extra profit.

These are preditory fees that are worst than checking account or even credit card fees for overdraft charges and are lucrative revenue streams for the company. I'll probably pay the fees so they won't threaten my credit and then cancel the Wells Fargo debit card.

My husband and I have been having severe problems with Wells Fargo Auto Finance for approximately 3 to 4 months now. What are the problems! Trying to get those idiots to understand the following: The Credit Applications which took us almost a month to receive from them were fraudulently submitted by United Hyundia, East Sahara Aveune, Las Vegas, NV. Next, calls from them 7 days per week from 8a till 9p and some of them back-to-back. My husband also informed those idiots not to call him on his cell-phone since he pays for the minutes and not them. Did they listen...of course not. He even sent them 2 cease and desist letters to stop these calls but to no avail.

I even reached the point of disconnecting my telephone by unplugging it and also turning down the volume to shut it up. Who pays the phone bill....definitely not them but we were totally inconvenienced. Even if you talked to them, they would still continually call you all day long. We have both tried to explain to each of them there since no doubt they all have called us at one time or another of the following: We do not have any monies and do not make the amount of monies that was submitted on the credit applications. The credit applications were fraudently submitted. Not their problem he was told.

He even tried to explain to each of them he was receiving Unemployment Compensation. Next question out of their mouths: How are you paying your rent? When did that become their business is what we want to know. Next question: What about your Federal Stimilus Check from the Federal Government? They were duly told it was totally confiscated to pay back taxes...an audit we were in for the past 2 years as if that was any of their business.

My husband continually tried to tell them when he would answer the telephone to just come and repossess the vehicle and/or vehicles since there were 2 vehicles involved. Both vehicles should not have been financed, whatsoever, if they, Wells Fargo Auto Finance, had verified the information that was on the credit applications sent to them by United Hyundai. They definitely did not do their homework at all. Information on both applications were different and the applications were sent in within 3 weeks of each other. Both applications had 2 handwritings on them plus our signatures which, in the age of computers, can be altered. Someone at their company failed to do their job which has caused nothing but headaches.

Next for the CLINCHER: On June 23, 2008, unbeknown to us, Wells Fargo Auto Finance without our authorization, went into our personal checking account at Wells Fargo Bank and withdrew almost $1300. That money was there to pay our July Rent and now we are struggling to get our rent paid thanks to those.

The following morning we were sitting in front of a banker hoping against hope to have our monies returned. Whoa is Me! The banker contacted that division and according to THEIR contract were allowed to tap into your checking account as long as you banked at Wells Fargo. WHAT CONTRACT! They never sent us anything from their division, Wells Fargo Auto Finance. Also as long as you banked there, they could not repossess the vehicles or vehicles in question. We voluntarily gave them permission to repossess it. Were our bank accounts closed, oh hell yes, and it was immediately done. The banker informed that division that we had officially closed both checking and savings.

My husband requested a copy of THEIR CONTRACT only to receive another copy of the contract you receive at a vehicle dealership. We read and re-read it on the back and there is nothing in that generalized contract that states if you Bank at Wells Fargo that Wells Fargo Auto Finance can take monies out of your account without authorization. Apparently that company can do as they well please. My husband has worked for numerous collection agencies in the State of Nevada, City of Las Vegas and informed me he was governed by the FDCPA..Fair Debt Collection Practices Act at each of these agencies. When he talked to Wells Fargo Auto Finance, he was informed they do not have to abide by those laws. Are they better than all of the other agencies in this city and state? Guess So!

What is taking place today....here goes....One of the vehicles has had the license plates returned to DMV and is sitting in the parking lot ready for repossession. As for the other vehicle, head for Hillsboro, OR where it is located for we have no monies to retrieve it since the individual who agreed to pay for it drove it there. Of course, we were conned into purchasing both of these vehicles by none other than United Hyundai.

My husband has faxed information to the following: Office of the Comptroller of the Currency against Wells Fargo. Yes, it is a division of the Federal Government. What do we want: Our monies back. As I said above, we are existing on Unemployment Compensation and barely making ends meet in this economy. Jobs are scarce right now. I paid a total of $1125.00 for nothing, they put my property on a lien and I know that they are going to repeat this scam again. So I have reason to worry for I dont want to lose my home over unscruplus deals. Finally, the calls have stopped here which as been a godsend. Peace and quiet from a ringing-off-of-the-hook phone. We have been trying to secure an attorney to go up against United Hyundai and Wells Fargo but to no avail. Attorneys want monies upfront but we have no monies to spare at this time. Stressed out, oh yes I am.

Everyone out there please read this statement: Run, don't walk away, from United Hyundai and Wells Fargo Auto Finance. If you don't, you will have more problems than you know what to do with in your lives. We should know for we are living proof. They do not care about you at all.

Then in the next billing cycle, I made purchases of nearly $8000. Well Fargo Visa charged me $83.69 interest on the 7day $225 late balance, because they charged interest on the new purchases that had never been billed. The $83.69 on $225 for 7 days is 1934% interest.

It can easily be seen how people in debt are abused and can never come out of it. Fortunately it is only the one time $83 for me, since I pay on time. But this rate should be illegal.

I was told by their customer service department that I must deal directly with the bank manager and that because it was a teller error I would reimbursed the charges. He did not reimburse the charges and said that it was my fault for not catching the teller error before I left the bank. Furthermore he said that Customer Service lies just to get you off the phone and it doesn't matter what they say, it's his decision to make. A DECISION...a CHOICE...not a mandate. He CHOSE to ignore the handwriting of the teller who wrote the account number down and put the blame all on me.

The total I spent over that 2 day period was ~$30 and I accumulated over $350 in charges I intend to fight. We filled out the info online and Wells Fargo called a few days later to make sure they had all the information. A few weeks later, another girl called to see how the bed was doing. I said it was great and she proceeded to chit chat, which I didn't mind. She eventually brought up the idea that we could consolidate our loans with Wells Fargo. I told her I'd talk to my fiance` about it and get back to her. 2 days later she calls back. She called again a week later with the same message. She got the same response from me. She responded tersely that she couldn't talk to me about the account because I'm not listed on the paperwork and hung up. She called again a week or two later and I told her that we weren't interested and not to call back. She said that I didn't have the power to make such a request because I wasn't on the account. She was informed then by my fiance` (who heard her nasty tone of voice) on the other line that I was to be put on the account and that I would be the one to talk to about the finances. **** became quite friendly when she heard his voice and said that she thought we would like to hear about their loan consolidation program. He hung up and I told her, yet again, that we were not interested and to stop calling.

A couple of months later this young man calls looking for my fiance`. I asked if he was with Well's Fargo and he said he was and wanted to speak to my fiance` about a loan consolidation for our bills. I said, I don't know what it's going to take to get you people to stop harrassing us about that loan consolidation! WE ARE NOT INTERESTED! STOP CALLING! Later that afternoon, my fiance` calls me and told me that he just got a call from Well's Fargo about the loan consolidation program. He told them that we weren't interested and hung up. I don't take kindly to being harrassed especially by a bank. I'm paying off the loan in full and will NEVER deal with another company that uses Wells Fargo PERIOD!

I have taken to screening calls, taking Ativan, and have become very angry and it's taking on toll on my back and blood pressure.

My mother passed away Jan. 10, 1998. In 2007 I found a bank statement that had been mailed to her dated 1/27/99. (I received her mail after she died.) The statement covers 12/24/98 through 1/27/99, with an ending balance of $8,572 .The statement says that the banks records indicate that no activity has taken place for almost one year and it will be placed on inactive status.

When I found this statement, I called Wells Fargo and they told me the money was turned over to Oregon State Land Claims. I contacted Oregon State Land Claims, sent them copies of the statement, my Mom's will and anything else they needed. They did not have the money from her account. If Wells Fargo really turned it over to them they would need records from Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo said their records only go back 7 years and they can't help.

I filed a complaint with OCC. They told me a bank is only required to keep records for 5 years and they couldn't help.I filed a complaint with the State Attorney General. He forwarded the complaint to OCC and they told me the same thing again. I filed a complaint with the FTC. They forwarded a complaint to the OCC and they told me the same thing again. Wells Fargo sent me and OCC a letter saying the account was closed in February of 1999 and they just can't help with a closed account.

I didn't close the account, no family member closed the account, I wasn't even aware of the account until 2007. I have all the documents to prove that my deceased mother had an account with Wells Fargo when she passed away. Wells Fargo has evaded the proof I have and gotten by by saying the account is closed, their archives don't go back far enough, they turned it over to state land claims, etc. State Land Claims can't find it and needs records that Wells Fargo claims it can't find as these archives have been destroyed.

My mother's bank account was stolen, lost, and never sent to her survivors, or people (her sons) designated as heirs in her will.

When I asked the customer service representatives what the nature of the call was about, they said that they can not disclose any information to me.

I informed them that my mother does not speak english and that I would translate for her. They were adamant that they were not allowed to disclose any information. I spoke to a supervisor level employee and he was very rude to me and hung up on me. Based off of what just transpired I can not but help to think this is a scam to fish for an account number. Prior to returning my leased vehicle I contacted Wells Fargo about charges that I can anticipate and prepare for. They referred me to their lease return section of their website. I looked over my vehicle and everything seem to be standard wear and tear items (small nicks and dings), which does not warrant additional fees. When I received the final settlement bill, there were approximately $1,300 in charges I did not expect.

I contacted them to debate the charges. Their response was that it was not able to be disputed.

So my question/concern/issue is how are they able to charge whatever they want to the person returning a leased vehicle without allowing the person to dispute, debate and fairly review the charges? I asked for the breakdown of these charges and I can confidently debate a majority of them.In addition, who would have known if something happened to the vehicle from when it left my hands to when the accessor reviewed it.

If they had properly made me aware of these fees, I would have opted to purchase the car and kept it longer and/or sell it to a private party. But I was not given any option but to pay the bill or else I was treatened by them that they would report it to the credit agencies.

An insurance claim was put in but denied because the driver was under the age of 25. Not only was the claim denied, but they left me in the dark not ever telling me anything about my vehicle. It stayed at a shop since the 10/14/07...since my insurance didn't cover much, I turned to another insurance I had purchased which is a G.A.P insurance. We started to process but Wells Fargo Financial didn't follow through with it. The lien holder, which is Wells Fargo Financial, knew about the issue and went ahead and repo'd the car instead of finding solutions for me or the payments and/or going through the gap ins. None of these people even speak spanish or gave me documents in spanish for me to fully understand all. Whether it was my car insurance or the lien holder never complied with me or explained anything in my language!

My vehicle was totaled, my insurance didn't cover anything, gap tried, WFF didn't work with them. I can't go to work, very stressed with nowhere to turn. They are trying to drown us in debt! I can't get anywhere without a vehicle. No job means no money..

My checking account went into overdraft by $211 this weekend. The charges that put me over were a $200 ATM withdrawl, and a $25.55 POS purchase for gas. Of the items cleared on 10/22, those were the last purchases/withdrawls made. My overdraft charge should have been $34/each, or $68. However, Wells Fargo's computer system organizes weekend draws on an account from lowest to highest dollar amount, so I am charged for each of the tiny charges made days prior, instead of the most recent charges to my account. This resulted in a total fee of $306.

This practice is unfair. If charges posted on a particular day are going to be sorted, they should be sorted highest to lowest instead. If that were the case, my total overdraft fee would've been $34 (my highest dollar amount charge was $540). Or they should organize charges based on date, in which case it would'be been the aforementioned $68. If you disregard ATM withdrawls for an overdraft fee, it would've taken three charges only to put me into overdraft -- a total of $102. Any way you cut it, the bank is doing everything it can to maximize the amount of money it can squeeze from me for overdraft fees. It's an appalling tactic.

Rather than a maximum of $102 in overdraft fees, I was charged $306. Ridiculous!

I have an automated withdrawl set up with Wells Fargo for $895. This withdrawl is to be taken out on the 15th of every month. I realized Monday (October 15) afternoon that I did not have the money to cover the withdrawl, so I called the company that makes the withdrawl to postpose it. As luck would have it they had already processed the paperwork (they said around noon that day).

Knowing this would cause an overdraft on my account I was anticipating it on my account when I login Tuesday. Well, sure enough, there it was, along with nine (9) other overdraft fees. The nine other fees were accessed for charges that I had made Friday and Saturday (12 & 13th).

I understand that banks do not process purchase made on off hours or weekends, but in my case they processed them AFTER the large $895 withdrawl made Monday. My account had enough in it to cover everyone of the purchases made prior to the automatic withdrawl, but because they processed that one first all of the purchases were made with NFS. Instead of a $34 overdraft fee, I was charged $340!

I contacted Wells Fargo Bank this morning. The rep I spoke with said that they always process the high dollar amounts first. I can understand if all the purchases were made on the same day, but the high dollar amount ($895) was not submitted until mid-day on the 15th, so why hadn't they processed my other purchases already? This seems very unethical if not down right underhanded. Now, instead of my next paycheck going towards rent or food for my family, some wealthy banker will be getting a hefty bonus.

    Can this really be legal?

I have been a Wells Fargo customer since 1997. On September 22, 2007 I made a deposit of $6,237.40. The bank tellers name was Arthi Sachdev. On September 23rd I left on a week-long vacation with my two sons, a trip we had been planning for almost a year. On September 25th, I received a phone call from my secretary, telling me our business check card was declined. I was in disbelief. The money from the 9/22/07 deposit should have been available by the 25th. I immediately contacted the Main Street branch, only to be told that they had no record of my deposit. I was promised an investigation and a return phone call, but received neither. My deposit seemed to be lost. I ended up having to call the corporate office to get any answers. I finally received a phone call from corporate on September 26th,telling me that they had found my deposit and it would be credited to my account on September 27th, 2 days later then it should have. As a business banking with Wells Fargo, we depend upon the bank to not only keep our money safe, but to have it available when needed. The following is a result of their failure to do so. 1.) My business was crippled without operating capitol. The result was catastrophic. One of our biggest customers is a local Pop Warner Football Team, which had an order that was due on Friday Sept 28th(to be used in a game on Saturday September 29th). That order could not be produced because we did not have the money to purchase the raw materials needed. They were very upset that their order could not be completed in time, and now we are at risk of loosing that contract for future orders. 2.) I had been planning a vacation with my two sons for nearly a year that was ruined by their inability to record a simple deposit. I was in Utah when the problem was discovered, with no way of producing proof of my deposit. I had to stop what I was doing to find a Wells Fargo Bank and deposit some of the cash I had set aside for my vacation. Because of that we couldn't do some of the things we had planned and looked forward to for almost a year. 3.) They bounced 2 checks, a payroll check and a check to one of my main vendors for inks and supplies. 4.) Wells Fargo's employees inability to record a simple deposit has caused me great pain, suffering, emotional distress, and inconvenience. This is the third time in a little over 2 years that a deposit was lost or misplaced. There is also a situation where a check was deposited in the wrong account, which caused over draft charges to occur. When presented with these problems in the past, customer service was non-existent, and resolve was never realized. My complaints have fallen on deaf ears.

After loosing my deposit, Wells Fargo charged me over $300.00 in overdraft charges. Up until now they have refused to deal with the problem. I have sent a similar letter to them which was hand delivered, yet I am yet to receive a response.

I was an employee of Wells Fargo Bank and was on a medical leave for a back operation. During my leave the payroll department made an error, and I was not paid for over a month. Finally I received my back pay. By this time my Wells Fargo account was over drawn because my pay checks were not deposited. Once I was paid, all of my checks went back to Wells Fargo to cover the fees I incurred because they did not pay me on time.

This caused my account to be overdrawn and the fees totalled up to about $1000. I requested this error fixed and I was yelled at and passed from manager to manager and then hung up on because none of the departments of Wells Fargo wanted to take care of this issue. They would send me from one department to another. So I decided after 5 years of employment to quit my job with Wells Fargo. Then one month later with no calls from Wells Fargo I discovered somehow they are able to stop my use of my AZ Central bank account even though this account is in good standing. AZ Central claims that they cannot remove this chexsystems complaint, that only Wells Fargo can remove it. Wells Fargo will not talk to me; they keep sending me dept to dept. They admit it was an error on their part but refuse to remove the fees they charged me for thier error. So now I cannot use my AZ Central bank account and other banks are charging me $5 each to cash my paychecks! This has gone on for over a year with no resolution. This cost me time and fees from other banks. All I want is my account cleared from chexsystems so I can use MY bank account. I want Wells Fargo completely out of my life. Please Help.

I have two auto accounts with Wells Fargo. Back in Nov, 2006 they changed their account numbers for their new system. My account numbers went from 8 numbers to 17. I used to make my payments online, receiving a confirmation that the payments were made. About 1 week later, I'd get an email stating that they could not find my account numbers. I'd call them, verify all my information 3 times for each person I'd talk to, only to have them say that they don't know what is happening and that I should make the payments by phone ($7 fee for each one).

This all began in November of last year when they changed their account numbers. My payments are now late. Each month this would happen, even after I spoke to several tech support people in addition to customer service supervisors. Each time, they'd again verify my information only to find it hasn't changed.

Now I can't make my payments via phone either as it comes up account not found. They said I'd have to go to a location. I was told there that they no longer take payments! I called them back and told them. Now they are telling me that I have to go to Western Union each month or overnight my payments to them (more charges!)

They have trashed my credit as a result of their inability to find the problem. They say that the problem is with my bank, Chase. Chase said there are no problems on their side and all my other payments for all my other creditors always go thru with no problem. Wells Fargo is the only problem I have each month. Now my credit is trashed, they are rude to me on the phone and have hung up on me when I asked them to explain to me why they are the only creditor I have problems with?? I despise Wells Fargo!10 months of aggrevation is enough for me.

Once a month, beginning in September 1998, my checking account was fraudulently electronically debited in the amount of $30 by--as far as I can determine--an Internet pornography company. At the time I began receiving these unauthorized debits, I had never used my checking account's Visa debit card for any phone, mail or Internet charges; nor had I ever NOT had the card in my possession; nor did I ever access any pornography websites, or even have Internet access.

These circumstances, as well as the fact that the company changed its name nearly every month, indicated to me that the situation was not a mistake, but a purposeful attempt to defraud me, and possibly others, on an ongoing basis.

Repeated attempts to resolve the situation via phone contact with Norwest Customer Service yielded no results, so I was left with no alternative but to close my account and initiate a fraud report at my local branch bank. At that time, I also drafted letters to the local branch President and the Norwest's Corporate Operations Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Neither letter yielded a response, much less an apology or a resolution. I work for the credit card division of a major U.S. bank, and I advise people of their rights under Visa regulations and federal law on a daily basis, so this situation was all the more frustrating. I will attempt to contact the entities involved once again, via registered mail, but, other than that I do not know what recourse I have in the face of Norwest's stonewalling.

Here is a cut-and-paste version of the letter I sent.

    Mr. Jeff Kemink,

    President
    Norwest Bank, NA
    730 Center Avenue

    Moorhead MN 56560

    Dear Mr. Kemink:

One of your parent bank's most recent corporate promotions includes the phrase, "Norwest--It's About People." Whenever I hear that phrase, or the old standby "To The Nth Degree," I wonder whether it is referring just to the customer, or also includes an institutional, philosophical commitment on the part of your own "people," your employees. After you read this letter, I hope you take the time to answer that question, along with assisting me in resolving some troubling issues.

I have banked at your location since moving to Moorhead in 1991. When American Bank & Trust was acquired by Norwest, I elected to remain a customer. Since my checking account has been with Norwest, however, I have had some unpleasant and disappointing experiences I feel require your attention.

My first issue deals with the fact that I was told the monthly fee for my check access card would be waived, due to my employment status and account relationships with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. My records indicate that I have been charged the fee since its establishment (December 1997), however. That small inconvenience and expense aside, there is a much more serious issue I would like to tell you about.

Once a month since September, 1998, my account (032-252910) was fraudulently debited in the amount of $30.00. It appears to me that these regular charges are for some sort of computer pornography access or membership, which makes the situation all the more offensive and troubling to me. The merchant seems to change names and machine IDs every month or two, but these are the transactions as they appeared, chronologically, on my statements:

    "Mach ID 440369 Playgirl Online (800- Ny 831421711314";

    "Mach ID 440369 Playgirl.Com 800- Ny 834428711344";

    "Mach ID 427529 Multimedia *playgirl*on 8007 Ny";

    "Mach ID 427529 Multimedia *playgirl.Co 8007 Ny";

"Mach ID 427529 Greydove *xgry.Com 8007 Ny"; and

    "Mach ID 401149 Bird N Bee,I *ybird.Com 8007 Ny."

Since my repeated attempts to have the fraud investigated and stopped via Norwest Customer Service were unsuccessful, I have had no viable option but to gradually move all my personal and business accounts to a more secure, cooperative institution; and then, to eventually close my last account in person June 3.

At that time, an employee finally went through the process of filing formal fraud claims as far back as allowed by federal regulations. It is disturbing to me that such issues, which I take quite seriously and have attempted in good faith to correct, remained unresolved. I know you, as a bank executive, are extremely busy, but I feel I must inform you of these issues since they were never appropriately handled by anybody else.

If you are personally unable to help me in recovering the money stolen from my account, I would appreciate your assistance in escalating my complaints to the appropriate levels, tracking down who fraudulently gained access to my account, and determining how such access was gained. I thank you for your time and attention. I may be reached at the address, number, or e-mail address above.

    Sincerely,

    Scott

As my above explanation and letter copy indicate, the entire situation was incredibly frustrating. There was also the additional horror and shame associated with the fact that I was unwillingly giving money to a dishonest, disgusting person or organization on a monthly basis. My disgust was only heightened by the fact that I know many of my rights as a consumer, yet was unable to garner assistance from individuals at any level of Norwest's organization.

It is indeed extremely frustrating that banks ignore their obligations -- legal and otherwise. It's good that Scott is being persistent. He could also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission , the Comptroller of the Currency, the Minnesota banking regulators and his state's Attorney General. While he's at it, he might as well sue the bank in Small Claims Court.
