My payments do not get processed and I do not get a notification that it doesn't go through. It's happened multiple times and I take a hit on my credit because of it. When it happens, it shows I am 2 payments behind. It pisses me off because I know I make my payments. Plus, I never get any notification that the payments never go through. This company is crooked.

I have been with TD for almost 10 years and I am far less than impressed with each passing year, I have had multiple issues every time I've had to renew my mortgage as well as going through 3 to 4 different people throughout a one month process. I have been charged multiple fees for things I was not informed of in any way and I find a real lack of care for its customers' financial well being.

TD destroyed my impeccable credit. I have been an incredible customer of theirs for probably 15 years. TD manages to send me 5 letters a week asking me to take out massive lines of credit but somehow managed to go silent when my Bill Pay mysteriously stopped paying my TD CC 2 times a month. My bad for trusting the system I've been using for years was efficient.
When I called them after I brought my CC payments up to date then paid most of it off I received a notification from AMEX that TD closed the account. TD never sent me an email, letter or even a courtesy call there was an issue. They had no problem shutting my account down and sending me to collections for missing 3 months of $35 min per month payments. I was paying a lot more than that was a few months from paying it off. Well, they sure did a number on my credit and then customer service was completely useless and began yelling at me because I was furious. When I say run, I mean sprint away from this company. Go with Chase United or Capital One of you want a good CC that actually values your business.

The worst bank for new business. It’s ok until it’s not. I had 5 business accounts with the bank and once business pick up they know that it’s the point where it’s complicated for company to change the bank because it’s tied to too many accounts and they start to hold checks for too long for no reason and horrible customer service to get in touch. You have to wait 45min-1 hour and honestly no one any authority or ability to help. This makes it the worst bank in America.

I am disappointed every time I interact with TD Bank, particularly in their branch locations. They are slow, disorganized and demonstrate no interest in customer service. I will be switching to a local bank as soon as I can.

I refinanced my mortgage with TD Bank several years ago. Never had a problem until about June 2025, and now every month they have screwed up my loan payments. They've misapplied the loan payments each time and disregarded the secured messages with the instructions on where to apply. I've incurred late fees because of their error and it takes a long time and multiple attempts to resolve. It also could have jeopardized my real estate tax payment because of these screw ups.
The branches can't help you, and all customer service can do is send secure messages, which I can do on my own. One time I called customer service, she actually had the gall to imply that the first misapplied loan payment was my fault because I didn't catch it earlier. It was 1 month when I went to make the next payment when I caught it. I had to remind her that this was TD BANK's error, not mine. She also refused to escalate the issue saying it takes 4-5 days to resolve. Yes, but they don't fix it correctly the first time and it takes multiple attempts after that, and with each attempt, it's another 4-5 days you have to wait, only to see them screw it up again. Something has changed in the last several months and their service has gotten horrendous.
Their loan payment system is antiquated. You can't specify when making a loan payment how to apply the funds whether to additional principal or escrow. Customer service also lies. They told me that they can't make tax documents, etc available online because it's illegal. What nonsense! I have 2 other banks who managed my mortgage and they always provided the documents online and doubt they were breaking any laws. No one in TD Bank, including the CEO and management, seems to care. If they can't handle a simple loan payment, why should I trust them with any of my $. I'm closing my other accounts with them.

I've been a client of TD Bank since 1989 and never had a problem until a week and a half ago. I mobile deposit a check that I have deposited from the same tenant for over 2 years, the previous month the same check returned for the first time. Now they freeze all my accounts, deposit only and I have no access to feed my children, my bill payment are returning and it been 9 business days and my account still hasn't been restored. I conversation with the rep, I mentioned I'll have to take my business elsewhere. She says do whatever I want! She did not even look to see that this check was being deposited each month same date. Absolutely disappointing.

I'm actually amazed! I mean what is the mathematical possibility of a company (TD) having over 1500 reviews, to have an average of 1.1 stars, when the minimum you can give is 1? Well, I have a bigger mathematical impossibility - I'm going to lower their average with this write up (and we should keep lowering it). Simply, I have been a loyal customer customer of 20 plus years. I have accounts for everything: checking, savings, insurance, investments, mortgage, HELOC etc..and I have never made an insurance claim. When I did recently, after 20 hrs of insurance premiums, they basically decided they are only going to pay 40% even though my policy clearly states otherwise. We are following up the matter.
The first thing I did was remove my home and car insurance - why pay if you are really not insured. However, what I found was the new insurance, by complete surprise only, was 2/3 rds less price. Both insurances combined, home and car, were well lower than either car or home insurance alone at Td.. But that wasn't the big shocker, all the money I have overpaid in the twenty years. No, the big shocker was when the new insurance company tilted and said, "Hang on, you get a bundle discount too." We are continuing on in our pursuit of the money and we are moving all our accounts one by one. If only verbally, pass it on. The "green" in their logo is the color your face will turn when you see how much they are giving you for your claim/ s.

I am extremely disappointed with TD Bank and feel compelled to share my negative experience. The entire banking system seems inefficient and unreliable. Whenever I need help, customer support routinely keeps me on hold for up to an hour—sometimes longer. Even after waiting, my issues usually remain unresolved. The cheque deposit process is especially aggravating. TD put my cheque on hold for more than 14 days, which is completely unreasonable. Nobody can explain what verification is required, and the process feels like a scam. I have lost trust in TD Bank’s ability to handle even basic banking tasks properly. If you value your time and need reliable service, I strongly urge you to reconsider banking with TD.

I've always had a positive experience with TD, whether in person or over the phone. Their support team is consistently fast, helpful, and professional. While their fees are slightly higher compared to Wealthsimple, if you value the convenience and reliability of a physical, traditional bank, don't see a better option.

Being a customer of this bank for many years because I have no other option close to my home, today I had the worst experience. I tried to open a new business account online for over 10 days without success. I called customer service asking to cancel the account because it was taking time, and I knew what documents I had already sent. They apologized and asked me to go to a physical branch.
The person who helped me started asking me questions that I've never been asked at other banks, such as what business I had to establish (it's a new business), that I had to have a physical location (I'm a composer and I work anywhere), my social media, and how I got my clients. In 40 years, they never asked me that. In fact, I left there and opened another account at a much larger bank in less than 15 minutes. I'm simply saying that if you're going to have a professional bank, just don't operate it, close it. Easy as that. Very dissapointed and leaving all account to other bank.

Have issues with heloc. Went to make a payment on due date from td app like I have done since the beginning and said 0 due then I get new bill and said I missed a payment. Changed late fee and double pay for next bill. I went to bank. Was useless. Called on phone and they tell me because it was a Sunday that's why says 0 due. I made principal payment so I figured that's why 0 due but not the case. Seems like a scam. Also first they said it was a glitch and it happens sometimes but if I didn't look into it could have hit my credit. I will be moving my 3 accounts elsewhere and pay off heloc. I feel violated.

I went the drive through to deposit two checks to my checking account. Today I went online to review my account to make sure it was noted. I notice that it was noted it would take 6 business days to clear. I call the bank and the service rep stated it takes that long for the checks to clear. I ask why and she try to say if the checks were cashable or authentic, not understanding this whole scenario. I work for the city and one of the checks was from there and the other from another company. Never heard of 6 days for a check to clear. I think this is some real BS.

After 15 years with this bank, I’m closing all my accounts. I don’t think anything can triumph the fact about how angry and resentful I am of this bank and their horrible policies and customer service. If you have a Visa credit card with them, cancel it and choose another bank or company. Back in 2022, I booked a vacation using my TD Bank Visa credit card. A week before the trip, the merchant failed to tell me the country had a 7-day quarantine. My vacation was 7 days. Merchant suggested to cancel. I did. Term and conditions stated clearly I qualify for a full refund. Merchant refused anyway.
I contacted TD Bank and filed 3 disputes in the span of 4 months where they gave me the runaround and denied my dispute over and over again because they said I voluntarily cancelled. I submitted evidence, screenshots, convos, literally everything to prove that the cancellation was justified and covered under the merchant’s terms. TD Bank refused.
I was stuck with the merchant’s credit/voucher which couldn’t be used due to additional policies the merchant never stated upfront. The voucher was set to expire January 2026. This year (2025), I finally found use for the credit only to find the merchant went bankrupt and closed their communications. Out of justifiable desperation, I blamed TD Bank for this because had they approved my dispute years back, I wouldn’t be in this position. So I attempted to file another complaint through the BBB.
They again, provided no help and when I filed a complaint against them to the CFPB, TD Bank attached useless documents “proving” they handled my case. I basically lost $2000 of my hard-earned money because of TD Bank’s dispute team and poor decision-making. To top it all off, they also closed that same Visa credit card on me without any notice. TD Bank now tells me to “work it out with the merchant”, the imaginary merchant that went bankrupt, ceased all operations and are nowhere to be found.

They are pathetic. They completely missed three fraudulent charges to my card, I found them, contacted them, they shutdown my card, didn’t get me my new card in the overnight option, took almost a week to get me the card, I went to the branch multiple times, now I’m in Greece and they’ve flagged all my attempted purchases as fraud and shutdown my card. I gave them all my information but because their code they texted me couldn’t be verified for whatever reason, they will not talk to me. Don’t use them. They’re unreliable, difficult, pass the buck to you, and don’t care that they’ve screwed me over while 4,600 miles from home. Close your accounts.

If you ever wondered what it feels like to be a nuisance in someone’s day, just pop into TD Bank. Their service is so spectacularly miserable it could win an Oscar for "Best Display of Customer Disdain." From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with eye-rolls sharp enough to cut glass and a vibe that screams, “Why are you even here?”
Need help with something? Good luck. The staff’s commitment to apathy is unmatched—think DMV-level enthusiasm, but with fancier pens. I asked a simple question about my account and was met with a sigh so heavy it could’ve powered a wind turbine. It’s clear TD Bank’s mission statement is: “Customers? Meh. Let’s make them regret choosing us.” Save your sanity and bank somewhere else. Unless you enjoy being treated like a telemarketer at dinnertime, TD Bank is the financial equivalent of a root canal without anesthesia. Hard pass.

TD Teller in Hockessin Delaware would not accept a DEPOSIT I was trying to make for a elderly relative who resides in an assisted living facility. After the transaction, I won't have access to his money and I won't know his balance. I'm struggling to understand what possible Fraud could be committed from someone that is not the account owner making a deposit for $79.23 into an account with an endorsed check and deposit stub into that checking account. You have caused quite a problem for the elderly. I can't believe I'm the only one escalating this as an issue. I can't take him to the bank to in-person add me or his daughter to the account. So now, I'm going to have to get his ATM card, pretend I'm him, and make the deposit at one of your ATMs. Where I will have access to ALL of his money and knowledge of the balance. You are giving Fraud a chance - Not preventing it.
Here's a suggestion: Instead of having this unnecessary and capricious policy, why not place a $250 limit on the deposits a non-account owner can make? Because this ZERO dollar policy is gonna lose you customers. I'm going to suggest to my wife that her father move his account to another Financial Institution. Frustrated in Delaware

TD Bank sucks! If it were me I’d give them zero stars. I set up an account online; and I tried to transfer funds to my Chase bank account and I received an email that they were suspending my Zelle and external transfers and that their system thinks that I’m not the owner of one of the external accounts that I set up.. and in which I clearly have proof that I’m the owner of both my external accounts so when I called customer support on Monday morning she tells me that the fraud department closed my account and ended the relationship with me. They are the worse bank ever.

Went into branch to get a HELOC home equity loan. Spoke to a person on the phone and that is how the mess started. The person who looked over the application would not call back, would email and gave a list of all the information she needed. I got a cover sheet directly to her and faxed in over 100 pages of information. She keeps emailing saying she needs a lot of details that I faxed. I keep letting her know she has that information. It is getting nerve racking. This has been going on for weeks now. Finally to day I just said no more and forget it... Oh and they give your personal information out to other businesses and they even emailed someone else's personal information about there line of credit to me, and when questioned, their response was just delete it. If there was negative stars for the review my would be. - 6 million. And they say they have legendary service hahaha.

TD Bank = the ultimate trash financial institution! Service sucks, experienced very long wait times in-person at my local branch as a new customer and saw many other customers complaining about the horrendous wait times and customer service. They closed my newly opened checking account without giving me a reason as to why and wasted my time asking me to come to the branch to retrieve my funds when they had already mailed my funds out in the form of a check (of course I had to deal with the annoyingly long local branch wait times once again)!
The one star I believe is generous for my overall experience dealing with them, but zero stars would be more fitting! Like one customer who had just walked into my local branch during my appointment said to one of the tellers as he pointed at the TD Bank tagline on a sign in the branch "Do you see what that sign says? It says 'America's Most Convenient Bank,'" so... how about your customers' convenience TD Bank?!

This bank is the most unhelpful TD bank I have ever been to. I have come twice and they treat you like a criminal with your own money. They won’t let you transfer money from one bank to their bank even know it’s your own bank accounts. They want to hold your money for the longest possible time they can with no lenience. I have unfortunately banked with them for 35 years and they still treated me and the fellow customers horrible. I would highly suggest not using this bank. Others in neighboring cities are much better at customer service.
