Lisa ** was so much help. She explained everything so well and made me feel at ease with my debt situation. I’m pretty confident moving forward with her and clear one. She broke down all of the plan more than once and explained how much I would be paying which is really a drastic amount without any help. The explanation how she would contact debt collectors and banks was also very helpful.

I was threatened when I pulled out of the program by their attorney. At first she told me she worked for one of the creditors I was paying, then the last phone call she informed me that she worked for ClearOne. Totally lied from day one. She made rude comments pertaining to my spending and not being able to pay my debts. I enrolled for help not criticism. They kept asking for more funds that I didn't have. Gave them over $250.00 a month for 4 years and ONLY $36.00 a month went to the creditors. The rest were fees! Over 4 years of payments and hardly making a dent with the creditors, I asked for a breakdown of payments. When I received breakdown, I pulled out. Very rude and unprofessional attitude. Threatened to make my life "hell". I sent the a cease and desist email to stop the threats.

Intial contact was friendly, very welcoming. An absolute bait-and-switch. Cancellation was mainly due to slow response times to inquiries and charging settlement fees in addition to the agreed upon monthly deposit, making payment into the program more of a hindrance than a "relief" during a time of limited income to begin with. After cancellation, now owe $4k+ for a "settlement success" fee. The settlement was for about 0.5% of the total balance. This doesn't even feel like it was even worth the time and is extremely unfair; beware! Recommend Freedom Debt Relief as the amount deposited monthly actually goes into an account that goes towards paying the settlement fees (FDR's paycheck) and the actual settlements, not requiring additional funds to be deposited.

Our management team has reached out multiple times with no reply. Our flat fee is included in your drafts. The only way that amount would change is if additional debt was added to the program. You enrolled $26398.00 of debt across 2 accounts on a 54 month program. Regarding fees, as outlined in your enrollment agreement and in accordance with federal and state laws, COA only collects fees after a settlement is reached, approved by the client, and the first payment toward that settlement clears.

Communication has been scarce and when I do manage to get someone they either reply late to the online message or do not understand what I am needing therefore did not make the appropriate change needed in time. And now I am receiving a text message about how I missed a payment which was communicated about. Customer service does not help and are very hard to understand as well.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. In two months they took over $1200 dollars from me and only paid $265 towards my debt. I have attached the details of all the money they took. I was told their fees would be taken after my accounts were SETTLED, not an agreement. I still have my debts and they have scammed and taken my money. The supervisor by the name of Michelle contacted me after I left a review to tell me if I would have taken my money out of my account before I canceled I would have received it back. But since I canceled it they took it and paid towards more fees. This place is a scam. I am a mother trying to improve my situation and this company made it worse!! Learn from my mistake and do it yourself.

Terrible company to work with, was on hold for hours today 12/02/2025, got hung up on multiple times, had to call back on hold again. They included another account that I didn’t authorize, so that account was closed. They denied it was them said I needed to contact creditors. Waste of time, but they did say that I could add money into my account if I wanted. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, DO NOT DONATE TO THEM.

My first settlement with one of my creditors under ClearOne’s program was exactly what I had expected when I joined: time was given to me to get money into my account, I was offered a settlement of 60% of the debt and was able to pay it off within 6-7 months. Unfortunately after this things went downhill. I received a text about another settlement offer but when I called to inquire, I was told this must have been a mistake because I did not have sufficient funds in my escrow. Later I learned that one of my creditors had very quickly turned two of my accounts over to a law firm, and the “competitive” offer both had for me was 80% of the debt. I had two different representatives working with me trying to get me to put “a little more funds” into my account.

These “little more funds,” were roughly the equivalent of lump sum of $7000 plus increasing the monthly amount I had agreed upon by $100 a month, or a lump sum of $800 and an additional $450 a month for 20 months…which would be nearly double what I agreed to. I managed to settle one of them by putting up nearly $800 more and adding $100 a month to the agreed on amount, have since been pressured to give another lump sum of roughly $6000 or to add another $350 to my monthly payments. Frankly ClearOne has not seemed to know what to do with this situation and send mixed messages. On the one hand I am told I am in control and it is okay if I cannot add extra funds. But then others tell me that I need to “take action now to avoid further legal action!”

Additionally I had a representative I was working with go on vacation and never leave an out-of-office memo, I received emails from ClearOne that clearly identifying who they were that I had to figure out, and one person telling me that an account was paid in full and another telling me it was not. This has been very disconcerting.

I know some people have had good experiences, but based on my own experience I would never recommend them to someone else. They have caused me a tremendous amount of stress and taken up hours of my time as I attempted to sort things out. I still have many unanswered questions and am disappointed that this company has ultimately added to my stress rather than relieving it.

      ClearOne Advantage FAQ

      What is ClearOne Advantage?

ClearOne Advantage is a debt resolution company offering debt settlement services. This means that the company will negotiate on your behalf with your creditors for a reduction in your debts owed. In exchange for its services, you’ll pay ClearOne Advantage a percentage-based fee once a settlement has been reached.

      How does ClearOne Advantage work?

To work with ClearOne Advantage, you’ll first set up a free debt consolidation consultation with one of the company’s certified debt specialists. The specialist will help you set up an affordable monthly payment plan that’s typically 40% less than the minimum monthly amount you owe to your creditors.

Once you agree to the plan, you’ll enroll in the ClearOne Advantage program and begin making monthly deposits into an escrow account. Once you have accumulated enough in your account, ClearOne Advantage will begin its negotiations with your creditors on your behalf.

Once an agreement has been reached with a creditor, you’ll approve the terms before it’s finalized. ClearOne Advantage says that you could end up paying creditors less than 75% of what you previously owed, including fees.

ClearOne Advantage says the first settlement is typically finalized in three to four months, and the total debt settlement process can take anywhere from 24 to 60 months.

Note that there is no guarantee a creditor will agree to settle. And, since you need to stop making payments to creditors during the negotiation period, you’ll incur interest and late fees on those unpaid amounts. Ensure the risks are worth it before pursuing any debt settlement program.

What services does ClearOne Advantage offer?

ClearOne Advantage can only settle credit card debts and store cards. Secured debt, such as mortgages, auto loans and home equity loans, are typically not eligible for debt settlement services.

ClearOne Advantage does not offer bankruptcy or credit counseling services. It also does not offer any legal support should a creditor decide to sue you for nonpayment.

How much does ClearOne Advantage cost?

ClearOne Advantage does not publish its fees online. Fees can vary depending on your debt amount, type of debt and credit score.

There are no upfront fees, and you won’t pay until a settlement has been arranged with a creditor and you’ve agreed to the terms.

Does ClearOne Advantage have a money-back guarantee?

ClearOne Advantage says it offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Also, you will not pay any fees until after a settlement has been agreed to with your creditors. However, ClearOne Advantage does not guarantee that your debts will be lowered by a specific amount or percentage or that you will be debt-free within a specific period of time. As well, there is no guarantee that creditors will agree to settle.

Do I need a hardship to use ClearOne Advantage?

Yes. With any debt settlement program, you need to stop paying your creditors in order to establish financial hardship.

Will using ClearOne Advantage hurt my credit score?

Yes, debt settlement requires you to stop paying your bills in order to negotiate your debt at a smaller amount, which can ultimately harm your credit score. It can take several months or even years to rebuild your credit after debt settlement.

      Is ClearOne Advantage legit?

ClearOne Advantage is a legitimate debt settlement company and an accredited member of Consumer Debt Relief Initiative. It says it has helped over 170,000 clients settle over $3 billion in debt to date and offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Its escrow account for your deposits is insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
