I am having the same problems with this credit card as everyone else. pyramiding fees which is illegal by the way. late fees every month-over the limit and maintence fee- i have been in contact with the state banking commission in Delware they are going to try and help me. check out there web site the more people that complain maybe we can all find some relif somehow.

I have an applied bank cc with a $1000 credit line, plus of course their ridiculous $10.95 fee and super high interest rate. I lost my job in Mar 08 and so I called Applied to close my account that has never defaulted, i make my payments on time and it has never defaulted. Well i was promptly imformed i would still be charged $10.95 per month whether i kept it open or not.
Try as I may, it was a useless and complete waste of my time, so i kept it open, I still don't have a job and struggle every single month to pay my bills on top of this credit card.
I can't pay this card any longer and after reading all the posts on here, I unfortunately will most likely face the same harrasing phone calls, because i simply can't do it anymore, the way it's going and me only making minimum payment of $42, while they add 10.96 and nearly $17 in finance, it's like im not making any payments at all.
Worst credit card I have ever had the misfortune to come across.

Wow! This card has been a nightmare. I have credit available, but they decline charges. Each month I get at least one charge - along with the $10.95 monthly fee. More often than not, I get two charges, amounting to almost $70, in addition to the $10.95 monthly fee. I have paid and paid and paid, to keep my credit strait - but I am really really tired of their tricky ways. I have 5 other credit cards now, and none of them have been evil like this.
The stress, the money I have shelled out is outrageous.

I never received statements after I called and told them I was moving in October 2007,now mind you my balance was only $230.56 and after 3 weeks I called to see why I didn't received my bill statement yet all I was told was that it was turn over to a collection agency I was really shock to find that out,so when I contacted the agency they told me my bill was $1098 which had to be fees and interest which I fill I do not owe,
The person told me that a special program was available today for $366.00 to clear account now I only owed $230.56. I reply by saying that's that's not fare. he told me well pay your bills next time so I told him I don't need the attitude so let me talk to your Supervisor. he hung up the phone so now the war has begun with me.
Now as a result to this matter I have been placed in the Credit Bureau for a closed bad account and the company is accuring interest and fees on this account so on this note please add me to a CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST APPLIED BANK TODAY OR TOMORROW. Thanks and God Bless we will win at the end.
It has brought my FICO points down and now my wife and I are trying to purchase a new home and I need my balance to be under $200.00 per my debit lawyer counsler.

I got this credit to help improve my credit but I could not keep up with the demands they were making on me. No matter what i did I could not get ahead of the charges they were putting on my bill. They would say the minimum payment was $25.00 and I would pay $50.00 this was not enough. I soon asked they cancel the account and allow me to pay the balance. I had some financial issues come up and was unable to pay more then the minimum and soon I was up to $1000.00 dollars owed and harrassing phone calls from foreigners trying to get money for the debt, but I don't feel I owe them $1000.00
I feel my actual bill should be less than $200.00 the extra $800.00 is the charges they have tacked on. They call and lead you on by saying we will put you on a debt payment plan and after six months your credit will back on track but you will still owe the 800.00 I have told them that I would pay my debt but not the extra charges and over limit but they refuse to work with me I have talk to many different people there and none of them speak english not even the supervisors.
My credit is ruined because this company is unwilling to work with me. They insist on charging outrageous fees and making sure they can charge over the limit. They direct their advertising towards people with bad credit once they get you in the interest rate and monthly fees and all other charges put you in a worse position then you were in.

My balance was $481, then they charged me with a late fee of $32 and an overlimit fee of $32 and a monthly maintenance fee of $10.95, plus a finance charge of $16.09. I wasn't over the limit until they tacked on all their fees.
I closed this credit card over a year ago and they are still charging me the overlimit fees, maintenance fees, finance charges, and late fees. I called and tried to get a settlement so I could get rid of this card and I told them I would send them $336 and they told me that was fine, but when I sent it I got another bill and it was $851, after I sent them the $336. My credit limit was only $500, and now it is almost $700, because I have been sending them money to try and pay it off. They are still sending me bills and charging me all their fees.
They call my home and cell phone starting as early as 8:00am and as late as 9:00pm, more than 10 times a day.

I have been paying 30.00 to 40.00 dollars a month and not noticing an increase in my avail credit. Upon closer review of my bill I found I was being charged interest for a cash advance. I have never got a cash advance on any of my credit cards. Out of 50.00 they took 22.00 in interest, 6.94 of which I didn't owe, 6.95 for online payment, 10.95 for fees and left 10.00 to put toward my acct. Yet 1.00 was credited to my avail credit. I have to reach customer service but you can not get a live person to discuss your complaints with. I have never missed a payment in the years I have had this card. However I have decided that I will take the black mark against my credit because I refuse to continue to feed a bottomless pit.
I'm struggling ot make the payments and because they are charging money I don't owe, I can not get caught up and with the economy the way it is I can no longer afford to give them money for free so I have as of yesterday made the only decision I could and that is to damage my credit by refusing to make anymore payments to this account.

I've had surgeries that put me behind in my bills. Applied out me on a program and I've been paying $45.00 a month on time, as promised. I also keep on getting call after call, 7 days a weeks, asking when I am going to pay my bill. I paid on time in July and they wanted to know when I would be making my next payment, in the beginning of August! I asked them when my due date was, and they told me the 30th. My payment is not due until Aug. 30th and they are calling me at the beginning of August for a payment that is not due for 3 plus weeks! I am outraged at the harassment and would love for something to be done. All these complainants can't be wrong.

The 1st time my available credit was $48.00+ and I bought $48.00 worth of gasoline. Then the company tacked on their $7.95 online payment fee that sent me over the limint causing me to be subsequently charged for going over my limit. Mind you, the available credit stated on my online account services menu had allready reflected the payment made but they waited until the day I spent the $$ to add the $7.95 charge. This time I had an available credit limit of $51.00 and spent under $50.00 as was UNDER the ammount reflected on my statement. Once again they waited until THE DAY I spent this credit to add this charge thus enabling them to add another charge! I can't even believe people are allowed to run a buissness based on dishonesty and scaming the customer.

It seems there are a lot of people who have had incompetent, negligent and fraudulent activities on behalf of Applied Card Bank. I am victim of their shady practices. I am willing to go in on a class action lawsuit if others would like to join me.
3 weeks ago, I made a payment to them for $136.95 but instead they debited my checking for $1, 044.00 three different times creating a snow ball effect of overdraft fees! been disputing this with them for 3 weeks. Every time I talk to someone, I get a different story. Two different managers said that AB would credit my checking account the overdraft fees. All I would have to do is fax over an Affidavit of Forgery. I did that. Now, the same managers are saying there is nothing they will do for me even though they assured me that they would take care of the situation.
They are scammers!!
Because of all the overdrafts that occurred due to their unauthorized debits, I have had absolutely no money for the past 3 weeks. I had to borrow money to just live. This ordeal has created enormous stress to the point of me breaking down on the phone while talking to AB.

I have had many problems with this company, including all the fradulent charges and fees. Most recently, due to financial reasons, my husband and I went through Consumer Credit Counseling Services to try to get everything back on track. I have been receiving so many harrassing phone calls from them. They speak limited English and are VERY rude. I have asked them over and over to stop calling me at work and they are still doing it. In fact on Monday, I was on the phone for about 20 minutes while at work and gave them all the contact info for CCCS including the account number, name of counselor, phone #, etc. They assurred me no more work phone calls would be made. They have received a payment from CCCS and they are still harrassing me for more money.
Again today I got another call demanding money, on my work phone. He wanted all the info i gave on Monday and I told him i couldn't because i am working. He contuned to harrass, insisting i make another payment today. He promised me once again no more work phone calls. I am so tired of this, they call on my cell and owrk and my husbands cell phone. It is embarrassing at work and frustrating because I have asked them not to call and they continue to do so.
I am constanly worried that they will call and my bosses can hear and co-workers have asked me what is going on. It has been a constant nightmare and i am really tired of being stressed about it. i don't want to lose my job over this. Is there any action I can take against them? This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Thank you.

I have been an Applied Card member for about a year now and I recommend that you go some place else. You can never get ahold of Customer service because the phone number they give you puts you in a customer service loop with no way of talking to someone and they have no email address.
I went on line today to see my account and I was shocked. I made a double payment, like I do every month, on the 5th of August and it states that I owe them money again on 08/12 and I am well below my credit limit. Do not get a credit card from this company because all of the hidden fees and interest rate kill you. My account will be paid in full in September and I will look some place else for a card.

I enclosed the front and back of deposited m/o requested and also a copy of the U.S. Service Delivery Confirmation Receipt dated 11/1/06 and their records have it as being delivered on 11/4/06 @ 5:14 a.m. This shows that the payment was shipped by two-day priority mail and it was delivered on time. I have never been late making a payment on this account EVER and I really would appreciate it that [they] will clear all of those late and over the limit fees from this account and close it as well and I wished to be reimbursed for the $12.00 fee for the m/o claim. I have been getting several calls on my job and even on Sundays late up until 8:30 p.m. and this is unacceptable. I have not heard a response regarding the April 30, 2007 letter that I sent [Applied Card Bank] about this matter.
APPLIED BANK IS STILL BILLING ME FOR OVER THE LIMIT FEES FROM THIS AND I FEEL I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY THEM, I have never been late with a payment and I refused to pay for August, this is wrong.

If they told him the acount number and other such information, why couldn't they tell him the purchases made? I think that there weren't any and that they just hoped he would pay it and not look into it! They told him over the phone that he was responsible for paying it off even though he had never heard of it or even gotten a bill! My fiance has never received a bill so he is not out any money directly to them, however it has hurt his credit and has caused him to not be able to obtain loans or make purchases that he should have had the credit to make. Higher interest rates have cost him more money in the long run and he has had to have a lower standard of living.

I accepted the applied bank card in march of 2007. I did so to improve my credit rating. I was also a full-time college student at the time and thought that it could come in handy. I just recently became a victim of the bank's cruel and unusual practices. I was recently chareged an over-limit fee. I knew that I was close to my limit, but I was almost certain that I was safe. Since I was so close to my limit, I did not question it much. I paid the fee and that was that. I accidentally used my card for a soda at walmart while in a rush during my lunch break. My fault! Paid it, and I was told that I was in the clear and should be current and back in good standing.
Now, after all of that and paying more than the min. balance, I accrued another over-limit fee. I contacted customer service and was told a bunch of non-helpful junk that resulted in me just making sure that I was clear on what I needed to do as to not get charged again. I was fiery mad and really felt like this was beginning to become repetitious. What's even worse is that after deducting the amount I went over (not even 2 bucks) finance charges, maintenance fee, and over-limit fee- there was enough money left to pay the maintenance fee again. (because I do believe they charge you for it again in between you finding out about the overlimit fee.
The customer service rep. could not explain why the fee was placed on my account, she just gave me an address to send a dispute to. I am waiting to see the outcome of that now. I must say I don't think I went over the first time unless they changed the dates like some others have claimed they do. I was never over or late. Had been given an increase to 850 months ago. I do not mind taking responsibilty for my actions. Someone needs to see that this bank takes full responsibility for theirs. I am afraid to check my credit report; However please keeep me informed on any class action suit info.
I have not checked credit report yet, but I have suffered financial losses, and stress related to these unexplainable fees. It is very stressful to one day think you are improving your credit, then to find out, it's all down hill.

I went over my limit on my credit card account because of interest rates being so high 28% and other fees charged by this company. For months I attempted to reach Applied Bank but was never able to speak to anyone in person. Their phone system either cuts you off or loops you back to your account. After a few months my account was turned over to collections Oxford Management in order to collect the amount due. I called Oxford Management on many occasions and have dates and names. My experience with this company was horrific. Oxford offered me a lack of professionalism, lack of common courtesy, and most of all extreme annoyance. Why do you have to speak to a different person every time you call with no prevail?
After receiving no assistance from Oxford, I decided to write the President and his staff of the company. Soon thereafter the account was sent to another financial institute named Pinnacle Financial Group. At first, things appeared to be the same as the difficult experience I had with Oxford and Applied Bank. For months I continued to call and attempted to work out a payment agreement with no success. Once again, I wrote letters to the company President and his staff. After a few weeks I got a call from the Operations Director Steve M. Steve was very helpful and worked with me to settle this account. Steve even sent me a letter pertaining to our discussion. This was something nobody was willing to do in the months that lead up to our conversation. My principal balance was 1865.38. Note that over 600 dollars of this amount were from fees and charges by Applied Bank.
Steve agreed in writing to contact Applied Bank and offer a settlement of 1100.00. This is also in writing and agreed upon by all parties involved. Steve ensured me in writing that this would reflect as account paid in full on my credit report. We set up a payment arrangement and the 1100.00 was paid in full and on time. Once the account was paid I was issued a letter explaining that my account was paid in full. This final letter was dated June 2007. Note I have been working on this issue since December 2006.
Time passed and after continuous monitoring of my credit report there was still no sign that my account was paid in full and closed. This past week 7-2008 I start getting calls from another collection agency name Narrs at my parent's house of all places. They want to know when I am going to pay 700 plus dollars. I was shocked that they would call my parents and that this issue was not resolved. I informed them that I had settled this account in full with Pinnacle and Steve. Bottom line is this never ending cycle continues to develop. I have spent hours, days and months sending letters in good faith to get this account resolved only to hold up my end of the bargain and be harassed again. Applied Bank is very un-cooperative and I am so tired of going through this vicious cycle. I left Steve a voicemail this morning asking for his assistance.
My next course of action is my States Attorney General, FTC, BBB, and possible legal action. This has to stop. Reading some of the other posts I realize there are many people like me that need help breaking the chains that is Applied Bank and there shady tasteless tactics. For anyone out there going through anything like I am going through remember, get everything in writing, get all names and times contacted. I have a book of letters contacts and times that I have available to show how I got to this point. I have spent time, money, letters sent, work time, health, anxiety, depression, continuous irritability. My family thanks I am irresponsible when I have worked so hard to fix this problem

Applied Bank is calling my home and leaving an automated message that repeats itself 8 to 10 times. This has been going on for two weeks at all times of the day. I have called them twice and told them that the person they are looking for (I was given the name of someone I had never heard of who apparently has an account with them)does not live here.
I have had this phone number for over 15 years and they can easily check that. I will give them permission to do that if they need it. Their tactics are tying up an innocent persons phone line. Their persistent calleing amounts to unncessary harassment of someone who has no account with Applied Bank and never had one at any time in the past.

If there is a class action against them, I want to put my name in the pot. I owe them in round figures $1,000. They charge 22% interest plus $10.95 a month handling fee. The handling fee goes on your account on the 10th of the month and the interest goes on when your statement closes on the 5th.
I pay them $75 a month, and I am always over my limit. When you look on line at your statement and balance, it shows $10.95 was added on the 10th, and you figure $22 average will be added for interest. Therefore, if I wanted to use my card at Wendy's, I can afford a salad and a drink. But no - that's not the way they handle things. They charged $10.95 on the 10th, $22 on the 4th, and another $39 on the 4th for you going over your limit on JUNE 10th when they added the 10.95 again...because I paid on line for a charge of $5.95.
This is crazy. They don't add fees for 30 days after the closing of the previous month, and you are held responsible. Their customer service person said every bank has a right to set it's own schedule and that's the way they do business.

I paid off my credit card (I recommend anyone who has one do it as well) And they still kept trying to charge even though I cancelled the card 7 months previously. Customer service is hard to get ahold of. You keep getting looped on the phone system.
Consequences is it will affect your credit report but I got rid of them.

Applied Card Bank has been calling my home number several times a day, every day, to include Saturdays and Sundays. The caller ID says Unknown Name and phone number 866-873-8592. The calls begin at 8:05am or 8:06am MDT and proceed throughout the day every two hours. That is until the evening hours where the calls increase to approximately every 33 minutes, which halt at approximately 8:00pm. THE END RESULT IS 12 HOURS OF CONTINUOUS INCOMING CALLS EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I keep getting charged cash advance fees every month. They average anywhere from $3/month. I know that's not much, but when you average that in over a year, I'm getting charged $36 for cash advances that I never got. I don't do cash advances on credit cards yet every month, there's a fee added into my balance. I tried calling customer service and got stuck in a phone tree loop. Their site says they have somebody there until 11:30pm ET. I called around 8:30pm ET. I press the number to speak to a customer service representative and it kicks me back to an automated account balance message so that I'm unable to actually get clarification on, or dispute, these frivilous charges.
I too have been the victim of getting charged for being over balance, when in fact, I knew I wasn't; however, it seems these guys are locked down so tightly, you can't get in contact with anybody to discuss it. While they encourage you to check statements, etc online, they don't offer any sort of online assistance or contact information UNLESS you are disputing a merchant charge (not an AB charge).

I made a payment by mail on my account and I made sure that I mailed it well in advance of the due date and still got stuck with late fees and over the limit fee because the payment was not posted to my account until after the due date which resulted in a bunch of fees. This is not the first time this has happened to me with this card and you can not get any relief from their customer service.
Because of these fees I can never get the account paided down it is like a never ending circle. This is causing, my credit score to go down.

I have a credit card with Applied Bank, had for a couple of years now. I ALWAYS make my payments ON TIME! However, Applied Bank claims they received one payment of mine 4 days late and now they are charging me $180.00 over and above my last ON TIME payment to them. I called their customer service and was told that although I do have an excellent payment history... there is nothing they can do. In short they want the $180.00!!!!

Applied Card Bank representative promised to remove late fee and overlimit fee which resulted not because my personal card use, but due to thier monthly maintenace fee and internet charges when I paid. Also, payment was not posted timely. Promise to remove these fees was discussed 4 months ago. They were not removed as promised and they continue to add them on monthly. I have been paying until 2 months ago. I sent in a reference letter via mail to request fees removed and as of 6-1-08, the letter was never recieved, which did not surprise me, so I have called back and sent via fax.
Credit reporting Score has dropped and continues to drop. I am in process of refi to end ARM mortgage note and go to a fixed rate so that I will not lose home.

That there would be a fee and If I had known I would have declined. They started reporting me as being late to the credit bureaus. Which I was never late.
This had damaged my credit rating and my credit score has been dropped since this incident.

I opened this account at their invitation. I am soon to be 20 years old and I am a student, but I pride myself with perfect credit. This banks seems to want to ruin my credit, but I will not let them. When this bank accessed me an over the limit fee and could not properly explain why, I got very suspicious. I found out that this is an ongoing practice for this bank. I decided to close this account out and stopped using this card in March. I still cannot get an available credit balance on this account because everytime you turn around they are accessing me an over the limit fee, or a late fee. They use the excuse that once their monthly fee is posted to the account and 5 days later finance charges are accessed it causes your available credit to be exhausted.
I made a payment on their website May 1, 2008 before leaving town to stay with a relative because I was ill. I guess there was a glitch in their web page and they did not get my payment. My bank did obtain an authorization for the amount of the payment to Applied Bank, which they held for 5 to 7 days, and when Applied Bank did not process any paperwork the authorization fell off. I receive no courtesy. They flat out refused to reverse any charges and in fact told me that I now needed not only to pay the payment that they did not receive on May 1 because of their web page glitch, but I now needed to pay the fees accessed and the June 4 payment, or they would accept nothing on my account and they would report me to the bureau. So I agreed to pay the $166. I then am told by the representative that I better pay more because a statement that is coming out to me on June 10 is accessing me another late fee and over the limit fee. So now I have to pay them not only the May 5 payment that I paid on May 1, but also the June 4 payment that is not even due yet and another portion of money to cover these fees that are going to be billed to me in June.
All together I had to pay $206.95, which included the over the telephone payment fee that they would not give me a courtesy to waive. This is on an account that has not been used since March 2008. I have a $500 limit with this bank and after not charging on it since March and making a payment today, 5/28/08 that covered the May payment that they did not receive, accessed charges and the June 4 payment that is not even due, I have about $20 something dollars as a credit on this account.
Well I have made this a priority, and I will not let this bank get away with this practice. Today I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General's Office in California. This bank has never met Jerry Brown, boy are they in trouble. I am filing a complaint wth the Federal Trades Commission in California; and a complaint with the District Attorney's Office in my County. To do business in California you must file with the Secretary of State; and you are bound to follow the collection practices and the laws of the State of California, not the State of Deleware. I will also contact an attorney, who specializes in Class Actions . Don't let this bank get away with what they are doing. They are preying on the most vulnerable.
This has caused me a significant hardship. My grandmother supports our family. I had to drop out of school to take care of her and my father who have become very ill. It is my grandmother who is paying all of these fees for me and she is on Social Security Disability. I fear that this bank will ruin my credit, even though I am paying everything that they are requesting. I also paid my account again in May when they did not receive the initial payment I made online on May 1 before it was 30 days late. They are not suppose to report me, and if they do that will ruin my good credit and I will not be able to salvage it without a court order ordering this bank to fix it. I can't sleep at night and my grandmother is alway crying about this. This is punitive what they are doing to me.

I hate being cheated. My credit card company charged me an over limit fee of $32 which put me over my limit by $15. Hmm... without the charge I would not be over my limit. I called them. They tried to tell me that the $32 charge was put on when a $4.51 cent charge I made a nearly a month earlier, yet it does not appear until now. So why do they wait to post it until May 9 when the charge was made on April 11? So that I do not know it is there when I look at my online charges!
Now the only reason I was near my limit is because the previous month they hit me with a $50 fee for something wich put me over. Then added a $32 over limit fee for that. $82 in charges that they essentially made up. $114 in all the last 2 months in bogus fees. Then since they made me go over my limit they also put it on my credit report which hurts my credit rating. It dropped 27 points as a result of their ripping me off. This will mean I will not get the rate I want refinancing my house. So I call them up yesterday. Unfortunately they cannot help me because a tornado struck their computer center.
Today I call and they can access my records. They try and explain the charges, and I simply ask why it takes 28 days for any charges to appear anywhere and why I am being charged for over limit fees when I am not over my limit. I get nothing from the call center lady so I have her transfer me to a supervisor. I argued my case with the supervisor who tries to give me the same line. Finally she tells me that I have to submit some sort of letter to try and get the charges removed. I get the address and continue pointing out the flaws in their system. Supervisor finally gets mad, says have a nice day and hangs up on me. Well, I will certainly be contacting my lawyer and going over the fair credit reporting act and related rules as to when they should post charges and about charge notifications. I will also look into why they do not keep a running balance available for my viewing as well.
Up until they started putting on these made up charges, I never had a problem with them and everything was paid on time. I guess they don't make enough money from good customers, so they try and turn them into bad customers. I know there are laws about such practices and I intend to find them and do what I can to force them to abide by them. I am sure I am not the only person that they are trying to run scams on. They done messed with the wrong dude. Stay away from Applied bank. Anyone know of any such laws that can help me?
the consequences of their actions has caused a 27 point drop in my credit score as they report the over limit fees to the credit reporting agencies. Because of this I will have to pay higher interest on my home refinance or forgo refinancing all together until i can repair the damage they have caused to my credit score.

I have read the complaints of many about Applied Bank. I am in the same position where I cant get out from under their charges. Please complaint to the BBB and FDIC. It only takes a few minutes on line. If enought people file complaints then maybe we can make a differences and the agency that regulates them will stop the company.
can't get ahead and this is a financal hardship on one income family. I have learned a expences lesson with this company.

Received a credit card with a limit of $500 just like most others. Certain charges were assessed and has caused over the limit fees, late fees and any other fees they possibly can charge. I have been offered many discounts to fully pay off the balance but the amount always changed in less than a month. Finally called to settle the debt because I found it so very hard to pay the balance.
Also, upon losing a job, I filed for unemployment insurance which i was also getting charged. it's been almost a year and the claim status of my unemployment never progressed. I still continue to accrue numerous fees. Until i spoke to a rep, he offered the hardship program which he stated with great confidence I will not incurr any fees such as late/over the limit fees during the program so long as i set up a recurring monthly fee of $98. Which i did and come to find out, i still get the stupid late/over the limit fees. The APR is now at 29,99%, and everytime I pay the balance increases and never decreases. I forsee that the balance may never go away.
I want to close the account but 3 different reps say I can or I cannot. The customer service is horrible, rude and insist that we don't know what we're doing. Not to mention they don't even have a toll free # to call them for live Customer Service. Long story short, I want to file a class action lawsuit or would like to join one against this company and put an end to all our problems. I have inquired to see about filing the Class Lawsuit. I am hoping a lawyer will get in touch w/me soon so we can move forward.
Stress and agony is what this company has caused me and my family. Time consuming to get someone to give me a solid answer. Every different rep is a different response.

I received multiple calls and request that the mail or email with any problems or issues just because I want documentation of my financial transactions (I've just found that they charged me twice for online payment). I have this on file from a couple years previous. In stating they wouldn't call they closed my account. They state they can close my account for any reason. Further, they have written off any further discussion. They have my phone number on record, and require it when I pay online.
Constrict my budget, cash flow, and opportunities for education when I cannot finance. Hard to estimate the damage to my credit.

I received a letter a couple of days ago regarding a delinquent account from a credit card company I've never heard of for the amount of $1004.19. I called the number and asked what this was regarding and besides speaking to the rudest person, she couldn't give me any information about the account!
I've never heard of this company and she told me the charge is 3 years old and they've had it for 2 years. Pretty funny since I've never received any statements regarding such a bill in the 8 years I've lived at this address. Also, I purchased some property a couple of years ago for over 200k and my credit, as usual, was perfect.
I don't know what kind of scam this is but I became very suspicious when the woman couldn't give me any information regarding said account. I gave her a file number and she told me I would have to contact Cross Country Bank regarding any information about that account. Obviously I won't be responding to any of their letters if there are any more. This was the first one in 3 years so maybe I won't receive another for a while. This whole thing doesn't sound very credible to me.

I have an account with Applied Card Bank. Because of all the fees and interest rate, I closed my account. I was put in their 'hardship' program for 6 months, beginning April 1, 2008, because I lost my job.
Despite the fact I am enrolled in this program, and despite the fact I made my first payment of $35 on time, I still continue to receive calls from them, sometimes 5 a day and even on Sundays, telling me my account is in arrears and I owe them $400 or so. I have spoken with at least 6 people and told them I am in the hardship program, and I am told by them this program doesn't exist anymore. I explain to everyone I speak with that I was put into this program by one of their representatives, and consider it a vaild contractual agreement, which I am upholding by making my payments.
The harassing phone calls continue, with people asking me when I will be making my next payment. I have even had people ask me IF I've made my payment. They seem to be more intent on harassing me than actually looking at my account to find out whether I'm paying.
When I direct them to my account and they see I have made that months payment, they then ask me when I will be making my next payment. I received one particular call one week after them having received my payement. I am still receiving these phone calls daily, even though my next month's payment isn't even due yet. This is nothing other than pure and simple harassment for the sake of harassing me. I continue to receive these collection calls despite the fact I have entered into an agreement with them and am abiding by its terms. I am very interested in filing a formal complaint with the State's Attorney's office of the proper jurisdiction so they will make them stop this unlawful activity immediately.
It's annoying, harassing, and every time I see their number on my phone, I start to get really upset and angry. This is happening daily and I have no idea why these employees are instructed to harangue and harass people when it's illegal under my circumstances to do so. This is very upsetting to me. I am upholding my end of the bargain, yet they continue to wilfully and purposefully cause me distress by calling me more than once every day and just as many times on the weekend.

I don't even have an account with Applied Bank, and they have been calling me four the last month, 3 to 6 time's a day, every 3 hours from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. looking for some one that has an account with them (first name Kurt.) I have told them on each occasion that they have the wrong phone number. They are still calling me to find this person.
I am now looking in to fialing charge's againest this corperation for harressment do to all of the anoying and on going phone call's.(I don't feel I should have to pay to have my # changed do to all the call's from them, and there incompatins and not understanding the words YOU HAVE THE WRONG PHONE NUMBER. THERE IS NO KURT AT THIS NUMBER.)

on April 6th I responded to a letter from applied card bank to pay off my credit card at a discount.(considering they just tacked on over the limit fees after charging finance charges. my payments that they set only get me further and further in debt each month. so I have decided to take the discounted offer to pay off my credit card and get rid of it. The catch you have to use their site and pay a fee of 6.95. I used their site provided bank information. checked on it 2 days later and it showed that I was now 519.00 iover the limit.
I called customer service and talked to a very nice gentlemen named patrick for 45 minutes. he said that there was a line error and the payment wasn't completed. now I have yet another over the limit fee and late fee. I attempt to pay by debit card and am now informed that 218.00 more to pay off my account.per ( Jennifer a supervisor) thats just how it is. the 467.10 is no longer going to pay it off. i chose to make the 467.10 and talk to a supervisor. so now I think they took the payment and will haggle the rest. not true. the payment once again was not processed for whatever reason.
I havent used this card since christmas and have paid my card every month. the due date has changed and thrown this off. I have bank records from where I pay it through on line banking. this is a credit card with an 500.00 limit but I cant seem to pay it off even when they give me special offers they dont hold up on there end. I want to pay that amount and be done with this card.

Last June I received an Applied Bank credit card with a $500 credit limit. I used the card one time for $100 and then lost my job. I was unable to even make a minimum payment and the next thing i know I am being charged $32 a month for late fees. Well it didn't take long for that to go over the limit so now I am being charged $64 for the late and over the limit fees. I have found employment and I called to get things straightened out. I paid them $700 for which i thought would bring the card current.
I called them on March 26, 2008 to make sure everything was current only to find out that I still owed $195 and that was just to get it below the $500 credit limit. I told the lady that I just wanted to cancel the card and she said there was a program where they suspend the card for 6 months, during that time there are no late fees or over the limit fees and it gives you an opportunity to catch up. I said great sign me up! Today I receive a bill showing another $32 late charge and $32 over the credit limit.
I again call Applied Bank and they tell me that there are no notations like that on my account and that they no longer offer that program. I am at my wits end with these people. I have an outstanding balance of $683 for a $500 credit limit account and this is after I made a $700 payment.

I went online to pay my account before the 19th of April so that I would not assess an over the limit fee like last month because the billing was the 19th of the month. When doing an engine search for Applied Bank I came across Applied Bank Lawsuit and I clicked on to the link just to see what it said and as I began to read the complaints I thought to myself that is unfortunate that these people were experiencing that problem I had not had that experience. So I continued to log on to the Applied Bank Website to pay my account so there would not be an over the limit account fee. To my suprise I was already charged the $32 over the limit fee. Welcome to the party. I spoke with a rep who could not thoroughly explain why so I asked to be connected to a supervisor She identified herself as Jackie.
To make a long story short. I asked her why I was being charged the $32 over the limit fee when I paid the last over the limit fee billed to me on March 19 and the only thing that would make me over the limit was the 10.95 maintenance fee they were to charge on the 19th of April. They do not give you any credit for paying of the over the limit by the due date given and charge you twice a month for over the limit fees. These acts are unfair and unjust to consumers really trying to restore their credit. And change the billing date randomly. I closed the account and said until I investigated the claims of others and contacted the better business bureau I declined to pay at this time. she informed me that I would still be assessed the same fee even the matainance fee of an account that is closed.
Negative report to credit bureau and financial hardship in trying to keep up with payments that only increase regardless to making payments on time.

My acct. was placed in collections. The collection company told me I owe 350.00 I had that. Then I talked to Applied Bank and they told me I had a credit of 196.93. The rep. I spoke told me to fax a letter asking for the bal. on the other acct. When to send the return. I gave them all of that information. On april 2, 2008.
So today I call asking for the hard copy of the other acct. they told me i owe 49.00 but the collection acgency said I owe 2,234. I credit report and 49.00. Since I over paid on the first acct. that whey I call to see what the bal. was. And they told me they owe me. But now they are telling me they are going to keep it for fee and all of that. I asked them I didn't the tell me on April 2, now they told me I had a refund. The collection agency they want 2,223. But Applied say I only owe 49.08. So who do I pay?
I'm trying to clean up my credit report and they are holding me up.

Every since I obtained this Applied Bank Credit Card I have had so many false charges on my statement I can not keep up with them. I pay my bill online and I am still charged an over the limit fee among others. I call and call and most of the time they hang up on you. They can never explain to you with any satisfaction why they keep charging these unneccessary fees. The FDIC should step in and do something. I have read so many complaints today about Applied Bank that there really should be a Class Action Law Suit against them.
This has caused me great financial hardship since I am a disabled college student. I am so frustrated and in fear that I will never be able to pay these people off and it will ruin my credit.

I have had my card with Applied Bank since November 2007 and I have been in debt to them ever since. From approximately the second month of dealing with them, they have charged me consistent over limit fees when I had a balance on the account. Example would be sending them $182 and they take everything but $30 in fees and then turn around and charge me $32 over limit or late fee bringing my account back to zero so of course, I owe them MORE money! You cannot and will not get current on this card. They are out to take every penny they can get from you and your only recourse is having your credit ruined (you took this card specifically to BETTER your credit!). They have total false advertisement, are ripping off the people that cannot afford to pay these charges. I don't have any idea what they took the $152 for on my last payment. You cannot get a straight answer when you call them, plus they charge you for the call! PLEASE someone in the legal arena, HELP us poor idiots that thought we were doing something to improve our lives. I am going to be sued by this company, be hauled into court, my salary garnished because I can't pay my regular bills when they are sucking money out of me as fast as I make it. This is serious business and I do not believe an attorney has not jumped on this company. Someone out there, please take heed and help.
I have had to take money that is earmarked for normal bills (rent, utilities, food, medical expenses) in order to send this company bogus charges or have them contacting me at work, harassing me for unfair and unauthorized fees. My husband has kidney disease and almost died 2 months ago and I didn't have enough money to pay the co-pays to get him into the hospital because I had to pay $182 in fees to this company!

I received an applied credit card in the mail. I had a $500 credit limit. All was great. I used all but $20 on the card. Not realizing all the fees, I went over the limit by .35 cents. Which I did not know I was over until the next bill. I was charged an overdraft fee. I paid that and $100 extra on my bill. When the next bill came in I was charged an over the limit fee again. I called customer service and they told me it was because it was over in the same billing cycle that I had just paid. I asked to speak with the manager (which they are all incompetent) he was no help at all. I asked him where I could find this information in the rights packet they send you and he could not advise me where that was. I immediately paid off the card and cancelled it. I will never associate myself with this bank and I hope that other people learn from my mistake.
I was charged 2 months worth of fees for something that I had not known.

I received an Applied Bank credit card sometime in late 2006. I charged up ~$500 with the first couple months, but then paid $300. I called a couple days later and they told me I still owed them another $112 in 2 weeks! I just paid them $300! They got a supervisor on the phone and said I would not have to make a payment and they would waive the late fee. I was like, what late fee?
Recently, I let my account go delinquent (yes, my fault). But they sent me a letter in the mail saying that if I paid all the late charges and the current amount due that they would restore my credit and let me go back to making payments. So when I got my tax return, I called and paid my account up-to-date. The person I spoke with on the phone verified that my credit would be restored. I asked her several times as I have never had anyone make this offer before. She said, yes all the way back to when you first got the card, all late payments will be listed as on time. She told me it takes 60 days before it shows up on my credit report.
I haven't received a statement so I called Applied Bank. They said my account had been charged off before I even made my payment! I asked him how could they take my payment then and tell me my credit would be restored if my account was charged off? He said let me see if you qualify for the restore your credit plan if you make another payment. I said I was already told I qualify for the restore your credit plan. He went and spoke with a supervisor and said they would erase my credit history and just show my account as charged off. I was like how is that any better? I realize I got myself into this mess and I was trying to fix it and clean-up my credit. I am scared to even look at my credit and see what they have put on it. Just ridiculous!
If I would have known my account had been charged off and there was no saving my credit history, I would have set up payment plans. I could have then used this money to pay off another credit card that was not delinquent.

I had a Cross Country bank card 9 years ago and settled on it. Now Applied Bank has put a charge off on my credit report which is keeping me from getting student loans for my children. I can't have a negative on my credit report from Applied Bank. This debt was Cross Country, ten years ago.

I closed my credit card--what with the interest rate, monthly $10.00 fee and the $6.95 internet payment fee. I have never been able to mail a payment because it never arrives. Strange? After holding for over 30 minutes, Applied could not give me a pay off; so once I paid off my current balance, I get a bill for $2.55 the following statement. I mail in the payment, thinking that I could for once avoid the $6.95 payment fee. No, after 20 days I had to go on the internet and pay to avoid additional late fees. Ever ask for a supervisor or direct answer? Well, you can forget it.
I spent the cost of phone calls, time in dealing with rude employees, and I believe I lost money due to their business practices.

I have had my Applied Bank Card since October, 2007. By the end of October, I started to wonder why I had never received a statement. I got online to find out the due date; and sure enough, the day I looked, I was one day past due. I went ahead and paid the minimum amount due but was very unhappy that I wasn't given notice of the due date. Since October, 2007, I have not received one single statement from Applied Bank. My $950 dollar balance is now almost to $1400 just with these ridiculous charges. My husband wanted to pay off all credit card debt with our income tax refund.
I called Applied Bank to find out the balance and found not only did they neglect to send me a statement, they changed my due date as well. They have reported this on my credit report. Now they are sending me letters trying to collect the over the limit fees. Funny, they can send me letters but not a statement. I have verified my address several times and still no monthly statement. Today I have filed a report with their local Better Business Bureau and to my state senator. These criminals need to be stopped. I would suggest that any credit card holder with Applied Bank do the same.

I have been paying my bill on time and even paying more than the minimum payment due. Every time a receive my statement, it shows an over-limit fee. I called them and ask why I keep getting an over limit fee. They always tell me I was late with a payment. They also increased my credit limit to $500.00. I called them and instructed them not to raise my credit limit any more. They always bill you for a purchases of $8.68 with a cash advance of $1.27--giving you a total of $9.95. They also charge you a $10.95 monthly maintenance fee. I called them and asked them to lower my apr from 33.0% and 30.37% on cash advance. They said that if I pay on time for 6 months they could lower to 22% maybe. I have been paying on time.
They claim my payments arrive late, and this is why I receive a late fee and over limit fee. I am going to pay them what I owe, and as soon as my payment is received I will try to close the account out. This company is ripping consumers who are trying to go from a bad credit report to a good credit report. Can some thng be done with this company? I will be glad when I pay this credit card off.
At this time I am not sure. I am going to pay the balance in full and see if I can close the mess out. I will get back with you after I see what happens when I pay the full balance.

Why is it that every time a consumer gets a credit card and cannot pay back the loan, it is always the bank's fault. If a person cannot be responsible enough to pay back the loan, then they should be called and collected upon. All banks are required by LAW to disclose all fees prior to the consumer accepting the loan.

I received an Applied Bank credit card with a $500.00 limit. I had a Ch7 Bankruptcy and was advised by my lawyer to get a credit card to build my credit. I started using the card on 1-23-08 and now have a bill that charges $100.00 for finance charges. I was also charged for cash advances and the $10.95 monthly maintenance. Today I transferred my $400.00 balance to WAMU. I am really glad I'll get my WAMU card in a week. I am destroying my Applied Bank scammers card! These people should be in jail!
It's a good thing this was discovered before paying my first bill, before they could ruin any credit. This really damages any good will I might have had for the credit card companies. I was definitely scammed out of at least $100.00! I better not hear from these people again!

I have had this card for about 5 months if that. Now we are having problems with their billing cycle that is stating we are always over the limit. We have been paying double payments, and only 2 show up. Every time we try to contact them they always make up an excuse. We are not not paying them.

Applied bank has the rudest customer service I have ever experienced. I don't have an account with them (thank goodness), but I was calling on behalf of a friend stationed in Iraq. I just wanted to know if this service member could be placed under the Servicemen Civil Act (actually he should), but this rep said I couldn't do it even with a power of attorney. That's crazy. What does she expect--for him to pause the war so that he can tell her to do her job? Some people need to adjust how they do business, and of course I couldn't find an email or number to get to Directors of the company. I will contact the military lawyers, though. I guess this is how people act for those that risk there lives for others.

The company added some hotel/restaurant savings program onto my card without my knowledge. When they did this, it caused the credit limit to be exceeded and added an over the limit fee. I asked the fee for the savings program to be removed which it was; the over the credit limit fee was also to be removed, which it was. But when I received my statement they had added another over the limit fee. I called to rectify the situation and was treated rudely. No one could explain why the fee was added. I decided to not pay anymore on this card figuring I would be further ahead.

In 2003 I started payments on a debt repayment program through Applied Bank Card of $38.00 a month by debit from my checking account. In Feb '07 I called them and told them I had to start sending my payment in by mail. I was late, and all the late fees, over the limit fees and the interest rate jumped back up to over a $1000.00. It took me four years and about $1400.00 later to get this card down to $400. And within the last year they have put it back over $1000.00 again. Now I get a letter from NCO Financial Collections and a letter from the National Arbitration forum that it's been put in Arbitration.What now?

I received my monthly statement with an overlimit fee. I could not see where this overlimit came from so I call them and they either could not explain only that there was going to be an over limit fee of $35.00. I advise them I was going to go ahead and payoff this account and request them to close this account. He then responded by saying that even if I cancel this account there will also be another charge for the bill of March of another overlimit fee of $35.00 plus the monthly maintenance fee of $10.95. I cannot understand how it is possible they can charge a $35.00 overlimit fee when there is a 0 balance on the account. They also said that even if I close this account there will continue to be maintenance fees because it can take up to 90 days to close the account.

I have an Applied Bank card since 2007. It seems like I have been charged over-limit fees every other month. I called these rude people to find out why I keep being charged these fees, and always get the same stupid answers, "because you were over the limit during your billing cycle".
I talked to one of their reps and was told I would not be charged a fee as long as my payment was made before the billing cycle ended. I don't know if it would be best to just not pay the bill at all. I guess I'll just wait for them to contact me about the outstanding balance, then I could tell them the same thing they keep telling me, "Yep I know the card is over the limit"!

I applied for a credit card in November 2007. They told me I would receive a letter in the mail. So I assumed I was turned down since I did not. In Jan of '08 I received a bill for the monthly maintenance--a fee of almost $80.00 dollars. l called and told them that I never got a card from them. I was told on the phone that I would receive a card from them and not to worry about the due date of Jan. 15, '08.
O received the new card so started using it. On about Jan. 21, '08, I received a bill stating overlimit and late fees for a card that I just received and had been told not to worry about paying.
Again I called; they said they'd look into this. I got a letter stating there wasn't any thing they could do about any fees except the one for express delivery because I should have paid my bill. Why should I pay a bill for a card that I didn't even know was approved until two months later?

Again I am trying to work with them about ridiculous over limit fee and late fees which are mounting up. They send me a letter saying to call Robert Macintosh to settle for less than the full balance. I get someone named Shelton who says they never let you talk to Robert MacIntosh, and is unwilling to waive the fees and let me pay our true balances. He denies messing up the account to begin with and would not put me on a hardship months ago.
What should I do to handle these people? Send the balance I truly owe and hope for the best--that they don't sue us for false fees? Or wait, pay nothing, and be on the class action suit? Please respond; thanks. I'm in a debt that I can't get caught up.

After several months of trying to get these people to take off all the bogus charges and just let us pay the balance off and be done with them, they just keep piling on charges. They offered us the hardship program if I wrote to a certain department. Well, that never came true; they delayed closing my account for long time to which they still keep adding fees to date. I am sending them two checks for the balance of both my account and my son's, but I'm sure it will not be enough because they still want their bogus fees.
They write me letters with numbers to reach them, but employers tell me I can not talk to them. Then I write to them and just get nasty replies. They were unsympathetic to me, a DISABLED single mother of two whose child support was sent to Illinois by mistake for about 10 weeks, leaving me in a terrible hardship. Other charge card companies waived the late charges, but Applied Bank would not--when actually they were at fault to begin with by not crediting my account for payments mailed before this happened.

I paid off this card. I called and canceled it. I received a bill for $75.00 for yearly membership. I called back explaining I did not want the card and canceled it. Now I have an outstanding balance of $433.65. I asked the rep to see if the card was ever used; it shouldn't have been since I don't have the card. They never responded to this request.

I have a credit card with Applied Bank. I have had it for almost a year. I always make my payments on time every month. I sent a payment of $100.00 to Applied Bank on January 2nd, 2008. I received a letter today in the mail stating that my payment was not received, and I need to send payment ASAP. I went online to check my payment status with Applied Bank and noticed the check was posted on the 22nd of January. I was charged a late charge of $32.00 and an over the limit fee of $32.00. When I finally was able to reach a representative from Applied Bank, I was told they received the payment on the 22nd and posted it the same day. I was informed that it was probably the post office's fault, but there was nothing they could due to rectify the situation. I was then told that in order to have the charges removed I needed to write to them explaining the situation, and then one of their specialists will review my account and make a decision.
I told the representative that I wanted to speak to a supervisor, and she put me on hold to get one. To my dismay it was the same representative I was speaking to before, only she tried to disguise her voice. She said her name was Barbara. She would not give me her last name, however she gave me an id# of B1H. She assured me that my account reflects a good payment history, however this payment came late and that was my fault. She did not want to hear my side of the story, because her Bank does not make mistakes. Again I was told to send a letter requesting the charges be credited to my account. Their representatives are plain rude, with no concerns to the customer's needs. I am afraid this is all a scam.
I am only out $64.00, but my concern is that this will continue monthly. I have never been treated this poorly by a bank. How many other individuals have had this problem? From what I read online there are many just like me that want a class action suit started against this Bank. How can we get this started?

I opened this account years ago, being young and not having credit history. However it has done more to destroy my credit than anything else. They sent me a card with a much lower balance than promised and added a ton of fees to it. I thought I had taken care of this card, by closing it- but when I recently obtained my credit report- I found it was still on there- as a collection account- and not only that- for $2153.10!- in fees and penalities i suppose- far above my few hundred dollar limit I was granted years ago.

After assurances that further zero-limit/late fees would not be added my latest statement, I had a zero-limit fee levied after a faxed request to have 2 other fees removed. Customer service told me that there should be no reason why the fees would not be removed because of the circumstances. All this time the account has been closed. This cc company charges you for making regular payments, and they get away with it by sending your monthly statement out at such a late date that if you mail your payment in, it will be late--and you will accrue a 32.00 late fee.
This is the very worst cc company I have ever dealt with. My only hope is to eat the $96.00 in fees charged and pay this credit card off before they can figure out other ways of taking advantage of their customers. I'm disabled and on a fixed budget, and the unwarranted fees I have been charged have made it impossible to pay other legitimate bills on time.

I was charged a $32 late fee over a 5 cent charge. A 5 cent charge!
Then they wanted me to write the company a letter explaining why I was upset over the 5 cent charge and why the late fee should be removed.
I am a nursing student, so $32 is a lot of money to me. It's gas money to and from school and lunch money.

After two years with Applied Card (at the time, Cross Country) Bank, I had established a credit limit of $1400. In December 2003, due to continued unemployment, my account went into default with a balance of ~$2000 due to late fees (and overlimit fees caused by the late fees). I instructed CCB to close the account, apply my $1400 security to the balance, then bill me for the remainder. Instead, they have left the account open, refusing to close it and use the security for its intended purpose. As a result, this account has been on my credit report as way overlimit and >90 days late for the past 4 years. I've tried 12 times, no exaggeration, to get them to update the account status and apply my security deposit, but every time I call, I get someone who has no clue what I'm talking about. If I write, I get a letter back asking for more information. My impression is that they're stalling me in the hope that I'll give up and pay the $2000 on top of the $1400 that they've been holding.
Having this account on my credit report is doing ongoing harm. All of my other accounts are OK, but ACB's failure to act in accordance with their own policies is keeping my FICO score down and preventing me from making progress in my financial recovery.

This firm has lied about late payments. I pay this account electronically through my bank account. They claim I was late by a few days once. When I told them how I made payments, they then said I was late a few times. They also said that because I was late on a couple of days that they didn't report it to any of the credit reporting agencies. I received my annual credit reports, and sure enough, no lates ever posted. I have all my bank records that prove Applied Card Bank is lying. I reported them to the FDIC website.
I asked Applied card bank for a lower interest rate. I am currently at their default rate of 29.9% Wow! They said the only rate available if approved is 23.9%. This firm is a thief. On my monthly statements, they charge me $36.00 in interest and fees. At that rate, the $1100 I owe will never be paid off. We all need to file a class action lawsuit just as was done against Cross Country Bank.
This has ruined my credit score, my health and my faith in the credit industry.

I received an offer from applied bank with a credit limit of $500 in July '07. I just turned 20, and since I did not have any credit history I figured this would be a chance for me to build my credit. I paid my bill on time the first two months of having the card. I ran into some money trouble at the end of September, so I called Applied Bank to let them know my payment would be late, and they said that was fine. I immediately received reminders to return my account standing by paying the minimum payment PLUS enough to reduce my balance below the credit limit. In Oct. I was able to do exactly that. I doubled up on my payment and paid extra to cover the maintenance fee and finance charges. On my next statement I noticed that I was still charged $32 over the limit fees, even though I paid extra. My statements since then clearly show I am paid to date and below the credit limit, but I am still being charged $32 each month in over the limit fees. They charge this fee twice a month on the 7th and the 12th. The payment due date doesn't even matter.
This would put anyone over the limit! I called to complain and ask that they remove the $32 fee, and I was actually told that it didn't matter--that I paid on time, as well as before the due date. They will charge the $32 on the 7th of the month, even though I am not over the limit. I am over the limit AFTER they add this fee which I should not have been charged in the first place! This makes no sense, and they won't remove the charge. Also the $32 fee is considered a cash advance at 29.99%. I cant believe a company can get away with this. It is crazy and unethical, a real scam. I regret ever accepting this company's offer.
I am in a financial bind because of this company, and I'm worried that I will not be rid of them!

I applied for this credit card and was charged a very high interest rate that was not clearly detailed. I was making payments until I became unemployed. I then called to inform the bank of this and was informed that I could be put on a payment plan while doing so the interest rate would be lowered and the late payment fees stopped. This is not the case I have noticed that the bank has kept on charging me late fees and kept the high interest rate of 20.99% applied to the balance.
After noticing this for two billing periods. I then asked for the account to be closed. A representative of the bank told me they would not close the account and would charge me interest and late payments regardless. Now there representatives call my house and harass me and my family, very rudely.

tThey wouldn't waive the late fees although it was their fault in excess of $500.00. I've agreed to pay balance but could not work with them. They are harassing and rude. Also my son has card with them; same problem. We just want to pay off account without extra $500.00 fees. I sent 2 payments: one for $30.00 for one account and one for $70.00 for other account. They will not rectify switching payments to wrong accounts in order to cause over-limit and late fees. they will not let me talk to people who wrote that it has been rectified when it hasn't.
Our credit is in danger from them and damaged. They have caused me much anxiety and duress. I am disabled unable to get legal council.

I called to ask if they could lower my interest rate, and I got a response stating that this bank only offers this rate and nothing less. They informed me since I missed one payment that my interest rate would go up not down. Miss one payment and my interest rate goes up, what kind of bank is this???
I asked them if they would match a credit offer I got in the mail for a rate of 12.9% and they said NO. I asked if I could close my account and they also told me that my interest and fees would be charged until my account was paid in full to a zero balance.
What is a person to do to lower their interest rate before it goes completely out of control?

I never had an Applied Bank card; I had a Cross Country card, and it was paid off. The Cross County card was taken off my credit report, and the Applied card was put on it and said I owe $1,040.00.
This ruined my credit. I am a disabled woman and get small loans frp, time to time and cannot do it now. The interest rate on my truck is 21%; they just killed me.

Collection on this debt has been dismissed and and discontinued in Nassau County Court of the State of NY. This company continues to report me to the Credit Bureas as a valid debt. Experian and Trans Union refuse to accept my proof from the County Clerk. Equifax on the other hand has deleted this from my file.
This has continued to affect my credit since the inception of this debt.

There were unauthorized charges on my Applied Bank card. When I called to request the charges be reversed it took them months, and they charged me overlimit fees for those fraudulent charges and refused to take them off. They then put a higher percentage rate on the card and tried to force me to pay all the charges and outlandish fees. Igot tired of fighting with them, so I gave up and quit paying the card fees. They call my house and my work harassing me two to three times a day; I have on several occasions requested them to stop. They have not and insist on me paying these fees.
I now have an outstanding bad credit debt on my report. It has destroyed any chance of my receiving a loan to help my son through college.

I received my Applied Bank card several weeks ago but could not activate it because they entered an invalid social security number in my files. Despite their error, they continue charging me for activation fees and seemingly late or monthly fees as my balance continues to grow. I advised them that they made the decision to invalidate my card so they have no reason to charge me for any fees, yet the charges continue to accrue.
Throughout the process they called me several times trying to get me to send them money. I asked them several questions they could not answer; they stopped calling me; they are now sending me e.mails. During my last conversation with them, I advised them that I was going to file a complaint with the Florida State's Attorney's office; they told me I could hire an attorney if that is what I wanted to do. I realized they were not paying close attention to what I was saying OR they were incapable of understanding what I was saying. I do not want to do business with Applied Bank.

This Applied Bank credit card is major scam. I always paid off my balance exactly as stated, and in few days, they charge me unexplainable charges. It is a rip-off. I tried closing it, and they say it will cost me $10 plus, $8 and etc. to close the account. They really take advantage and have no shame at all.

November 22 I received a letter from Applied Bank with a credit card in it. I have never applied for a credit card. I call the company, and they asked me to put in the account number. I put it in and an automated guy says "Your account has been activated." I wasn't calling to activate; I was simply calling for information. I've been trying to get through for 5 days,waiting for a minimum of 30 minutes each call. I got through today by calling their payment number; they say I signed the application and owe $493 when I only but $260 on the card.
I am willing to pay what I owe on the card, but the other charges are ridiculous, had not idea about, and never signed anything. Also, the card for some reason has my name but a different social security number; I have no idea how it happened. I need advice; I'm only 20 years old. Customer Service is the worst and very rude--and also wouldn't let me cancel.

I received a call from a fast talking person who told me that I have been qualified to receive a credit card from Applied Bank. The next week I get a letter from the bank stating that they have been trying to reach me via email. I called the number on the letter and find that I had been given a credit card and had a balance due of $110.00. I had not received a credit card nor a statement and did not know why I owed them. According to the application information provided to me over the phone there was no annual fee. So I called and asked them to cancel the card, but the rep said she closed the account out. It really should have been canceled since I never activated or received the card.
This will show as a credit card closure on my credit report which is not good. Their method is under-handed and a rip-off to the consumer. They were not honest and are charging people money before they even activate or accept the card. I have nothing in writing from them which binds me to doing business with them.

Four months ago my Applied Card Bank card got misplaced, so I called customer service and reported my card as stolen. I had $0 balance on my card so she assured me that my card is blocked and cannot be used until they send me the new one. I never got the new card, and after four months got emailed that my card is past due and is being reported to the three major credit bureaus as delinquent.Their customer service number has no option to talk to the customer service representative. I have to go through their card payment system.
Finally I got through and was told the charges are all maintenance and late fee charges. I told her the card was blocked four months ago. She said she's going to make the balance "zero" and close the card, but she hung up on me. After several attempts I got through again, spoke with Manager, and he closed my account. I'm not sure how this will affect my credit.

I was late on a payment due to a move and a job change. I was told by a customer service rep that if I paid $67.00 by 10-26-07 that this action would bring my account up-to-date. I did this. The payment was made electronically so that it would be recieved faster. My bank showed that payment was made to Applied Bank Card on 10-23-07. I called the bank center and was informed that I now owed a $99.00 payment for being over the limit and that the payment they recieved was late!! I looked on the online account screen and noticed that the payment recieved on 10-23-07 was not posted to my account until 11-8-07!

I had a credit card placed in collection. The collection agency sent me a letter with an offer from Applied Card Bank to "clear your credit". I was to pay nearly twice the amount of my original credit limit in exchange for the account being completely removed from my credit report. I paid $1571.30 on 7/31/07. I was told that once payment cleared the change to my credit report would be effective immediately.
After weeks of giving Applied Card Bank time to remove this negative account from my credit report, nothing was done. I called the company and was then told that it might take up to 90 days to remove this account from my credit report. After 92 days, on 11/1/07, I called this company again and was told it would be taken care of and I would get a call back the next day. I never did, so I called again. There was no answer so I left a message
This company is in breach of contract. I paid them as agreed and they have yet to remove this account from my credit reports. I have filed two disputes with the credit bureaus and both disputes came back to me as being invalid.

I paid my entire Applied Card Bank balance in full with the intention of canceling as soon as I had confirmation they had received it. I waited a few days, called up their fourth-rate customer service line, which costs 50 cents the first two times you use it, then $10.50 each additional time. I was told by an automated voice that my remaining balance was eight dollars and change. I paid the full balance listed on my invoice and certainly hadn't used the card in months prior, so it's my belief that these additional fees were fabricated by Applied Card Bank, both to suck a few extra pennies out of me and also of leaving a balance on my account and thereby throwing on next month's $10 maintenance fee. What maintenance could possibly be required on a closed credit account? I plan to pay this bogus twenty dollars by check and be done with this company. If they attempt to steal anymore of my money, however, I'll be left with no other option but to contact a lawyer.
Applied Card Bank offered the worst service I've ever experienced from a credit company in my life.

I opened an account with Applied Card Bank hoping to use it to pay tuition and just pay each month. I was charged an origination fee of $100.00, a monthly maintenance fee, a cash advance fee (which I never used) and finance charges and banks fees. I charged $350.00 of my tuition fee and with all the other fees, my balance is $513.04. I called and got the run around. I told them to close my account, and they said that all fees would still be charged. My parents have called the Better Business Bureau, and I will be filing a lawsuit against Applied Bank.

I signed up for Applied Card Bank thinking to boost my credit. They charge me $65 a month plus another $10.95 even if I don't use the card. The agreement stated a maximum of $15.00 a month. I have inquired about paying off and canceling my account--and I mysteriously get disconnected.
We have to pay more and more each month that wasn't expected, and now it's beginning to put a strain on us financially.

I have been calling Applied Card Bank for a week and can't get a live person on the phone. I reviewed my online statement and noticed a late payment charge dated 10/24/07. I made a payment by mail which they received on 10/09/07, and my payment wasn't due until 10/19/07. This means they received my payment earlier than the due date, and I shouldn't have been billed the $32 late fee. I have been trying to correct this problem, but I can't speak to a representative no matter what time of day I call.
I've read on the website that they charge 50-cents per inquiry, and as many times as I've called I'm sure I've racked up on these charges. This kind of business should be considered illegal.

We had two accounts Applied Card Bank; one has been closed for two years, but paid down slowly and paid it off in the last couple of months. We are now being hit with a participation fee. The account has been closed for two years and paid off for two months--no one with ACB gives us an answer when we call for the reason for the fee.

My wife applied for this card on line. There was no mention in the application about annual fees. She received the card and tried to activate it and it would not go through. She received a bill which showed an Account Activation fee: $50.00, Monthly Maintenance Fee: $10.95, Overnight Delivery Fee (?): $20.00 and then showed some purchases (on this yet to be activated card): $0.53, Cash Advance (to whom?): $0.87. So this yet to be activated card with a measly $500 credit line now has $82.35 charged to it.

I applied for this card over an Internet site. On the application form was a box to indicate whether payment insurance was required. I ALWAYS carry insurance on my cards due to my profession, which is Hospice work. When my patient passes away, I am unemployed until the next call. I accidentally checked the 'no' box, but didn't realize that until I had clicked the 'submit' button.
During the activation call, I made the customer service rep aware of the situation and that I needed to have the payment insurance put on my card due to my profession. I was assured by this person that they would rectify the matter and for me not to worry. My first statement arrived and there was no mention of the insurance. I called Applied and inquired; they assured me that it would be on my next months' statement - it wasn't. This prompted another call from me...again, assurances that it would be taken care of.

I tried the customer service number and kept getting automated service. Customer service will not pick up. I have requested my credit card cancelled and as a last resort called the lost and stolen. He gave me the same number that I have been calling for days and then hung up on me. I want this card cancelled immediately. If I can't cancel the card they will charge me another annual fee for a card I no longer want.

I've been getting calls continually from different individuals for sometime now, day and night. They ask for my son who had an account with Applied Card bank. I’ve advised all that call that he no longer lives with us. A person identifying himself as Brian called and asked to talk to my son. I advised Brian that my son no longer stayed with us. I also told him that I had been receiving numerous calls and I wanted them stopped. He said that he would continue to call as long as he wanted to. I told him not to call again and he kind of chuckled and said he would call again.

I asked for the payoff amount on my credit card. I was given the amount due and I then asked if we could negotiate the monthly maintenance fees and the finance charges so that I could pay this card off before closing on my house. The representative told me that they could take off the fees that had piled up if I would make a payment in the amount of $652.70. I agreed to the settlement offer but did not agree to the $7 charge they wanted to charge me by paying it by phone- so I told her I'd send them a check and asked her to please close out my account with them!

I had paid my account off in full. 4 days later I went to use my card and it was declined. I called Applied Card Bank and I was told that my account was paid the day before and that payment may take 4-12 days to clear my personal bank. I told them I paid my card 4 days earlier and it DID clear my bank. The person I spoke to was a Direct Supervisor and she called me a LIAR and said there is no way my payment cleared my bank already and that I should have thought about having money with me before I went out of town. VERY RUDE!

They back-post charges even though they haven't even paid the charge. For example, you use the card on 3/1/2007 and the charge comes through to them on 3/3/2007 for payment and posts to your account. However, on 3/3/2007 they post it with a transaction date of 3/1/2007 and a POST date of 3/1/2007 not 3/3/2007! They don't pay the charge for me until 3/3/2007 but charge me interest from the transaction date?

I had closed my account and unfortunately made my monthly payment 27 cents short, which they then charged me $32.00 for being "late" which then made me "over limit" (by the late fee) and added ANOTHER $32.00. I closed the account and I’m paying them off and getting these people out of my life.

I paid off and closed this card account over FIVE YEARS ago. At that point it was Cross County bank. They are now saying there is some kind of unpaid balance of over $500.00 supposed interest that has never been paid. Why was this "Interest" never brought to my attention by Cross County bank five years ago?

I have made on-time payments to this credit card company, never being late. They are failing to applied the money that I send in to the balance of my credit card. Attempts to clear this matter, from myself, with this company have resulted in no success. I spoken with the supervisor, Allan P - employee # AP9, and each time she has rushed me off the phone. The payment in question was posted to my account on Dec. 7, 2006, cleared my bank on Dec. 8, 2006 but has yet to be credited to my account.
My payment was due on Dec. 29, 2006 which was well before the due date. The amount due on this date was $35 but I sent a check for $300. I was told by the supervisor, Allan P, that the reason it hasn't cleared was because I paid by check. The payments I have made to my account in the past were made by the same checking account as the $300 payment. I was informed that I must pay on-line, for a fee or by money order - for a fee as well. I pay on-line because Applied Card can't seem to get my new address correct and send statements.So I pay on-line to avoid a late fee include the 6.95 fee to pay on-line in my payment. Applied then tacks on the on-line fee which makes my credit limit over then they charge an over the limit fee it's ridiculous. They report this to the credit bureaus which lowers your credit score for high balance I have been on the phone trying to get this situation cleared with Applied and make the customer service reps understand..It's a loss. They will be owing me money in the end..........

Applied for credit card online ... a few weeks later receive credit card from this company, it says call to activate. I do not, then I get a bill stating what I owe with no way out including 11 monthly fees and $50 fee. I use card, then decide to pay off in full, record all conversations as they repeatedly issue me new cards even after I decline and report cards lost/ stolen.

Received statements at previous address. Moved December 2005, called to change address as well as wrote new address on envelope, never received any further statements. Called 3 additional times to make sure I received statement and to make them aware that I wanted to pay on the acount. They repeated address back to me and said that the problem would be fixed to no avail!
I've now been turned into a collection agency which my parents were contacted in the form of harasing phone calls. My parents contact information was never on account. When I spoke to the collection representative he repeated back new address and phone number as well. As a result, I'm incurring late fees and bad credit reporting, also accruing interest. I have still never received anything in writing (ie: statement) and feel that they are purposely trying to continue to let the account accrue interest for their benefit.

I have not received a paper or online bill friom them in months! I think when they switched from Cross Country Bank to Applied Card Bank they just never bothered. However, they DO call my home ALL THE TIME. It would be nice for THEM to initiate a bill...since they are in business to make money. I never know any due dates or anything. I applied for and received a Cross Country Bank Card in September of 2004. My initial limit was $500. Today I finally was able to pay off my account and close it out. During my year and half as a customer I was outrageously charged for everything I did pertaining to this account. If I received a credit line increase of $250, I was charged a $100 fee. If I made a payment online I was charged $6.95, If I was late on a payment (which thankfully I never was) I was charged $35, If I was over my credit limit, I was charged $35, if I called to check my balance over the phone I was charged $0.50.
After about 9 months of having the card, Cross Country was bought out by a company called Applied Card Bank, and they retained the same charge for everything policies as Cross Country Bank. While I never had a problem with a payment not getting to where it needed to, I am very disappointed in the unethical overcharging for everything on the account. It is entirely ridiculous that a consumer should be gouged for credit line increases, making a payment, or even checking a balance, and on top of that to be paying a whopping 23.9% interest on all purchases, and 30% interest rate on all cash advances. I have to honestly thank my next door neighbor for advising me to go get a fixed rate signature loan to pay off all my credit cards and close all of my accounts out, otherwise I would still be paying minimum payments on a card that would have never gotten paid off.

Has ignored requests to cancel card and repeatedly harrasses by mail and phone. I hope to get Tennessee involved in the long list of class action suits against this company.

I was told if you are one minute late paying us you will be charged we don't care.I was also told this is how we make our money.The late fee is 32.00 so this company plans to make close to 75.00 a month off a card I do not use.This company formely known as Cross Coutry Bank has already been sued for practicing consumer ripoff policies and even if I have to keep paying until I payoff the bill I want other consumers to be warned of the bully tactics and lack of compassion this company shows.

I sent an electronic payment to Applied card bank for monthly payment via their web site, I received a confirmation number and was done with it, or so I thought... day's later I noticed that the payment had still not been debited from my bank account, so I contacted Applied Card Bank to see if there was a problem with the payment. I was assured by Desmond, the representative that the payment had gone through, it just takes a few days to come out of the account... well 5 day's later and several long distance conversations, I was told that my payment was returned, and to contact my bank, however my bank states that there was never a payment submitted from them to my account.

This is Cross Country Banks' new name, don't let it fool you. I used my banks' bill-pay service to pay an amount to Applied Card Bank that was before the due date, and much more than the minimum payment. Mysteriously, even though my bank has received electronic confirmation back from ACB (Applied Card Bank) indicating that they received the payment, nothing shows on my account or by available balance. Customer service calls, which cost like five bucks each AND are toll calls, give me the same fax us this information merry-go-round.
How am I to be sure they'll get this if they won't even acknowledge receiving the payment in question? Also interesting is the fact that if when I used their website e-pay option (which incurs a 6.95 fee), none of this occurred. When I try to e-pay without paying their fee, suddenly there is a five business day processing time that is never mentioned in their published policies. So, now I don't know what to do. My bank says the money is with ACB, and they claim to know nothing. Since they have no pending payment (they claim), they cannot help me. If this drags past my payment due date of Jan 3, you bet they'll attach a late fee, and there won't be any five day processing for that!!!
