The Trinet System is very easy to use to check payroll, schedule time off, checking vacation time and also going through the hiring process. Overall, I have rated this 5 Stars due to its ease of use and also quickly being able to find what I am looking for.

Service has significantly improved since we were reassigned a direct contact for our account vs the 360 model. The 360 model was a disaster and the reason we almost terminated our relationship of over a decade. Thank you for going back to a service model that actually offers service we can count on.

Thank you for your feedback and for allowing us to continue to serve your HR needs. We value you as a customer and look forward to providing you with the level of service you have come to expect from us.

We signed up with TriNet hoping to be able to add benefits and use their HR support. Onboarding was great. But that is where the service stopped. Every payroll has a mistake. Good luck trying to reach anyone. Hidden fees were discovered when they charged us 3x or UI rate. They told me that was their “service fee”. They also told us that Work Comp was included. Their definition of included is you pay extra for it. So after 2 months we have our 30 days notice. No one confirmed our cancellation or reached out to us for 20 days. We had to beg for communication. We informed Trinet in writing that we were no longer processing payroll with them. They proceeded to process an inaccurate and unauthorized payroll for over $10,000. All I can say is run. They are not your partner. They will take over, make all kinds of mistakes, and you work for them.

Hi Eric, we are sorry to hear about your frustration and have shared your feedback with our appropriate internal teams.

We've only been with TriNet for 1 year and I have to say, I'm beyond unimpressed with their support. A big reason we went with TriNet was a dedicated support person to help us when we needed it. They would get to know our business... Well, what you actually get is nothing more than someone to email or call with your questions and they create a ticket for the person/dept. that can help. I could get past it if anyone ever actually responded. If I didn't continue to follow up I'd never get things completed by the deadlines they set. Payroll function works fine.

I've been working for several companies in the past that used TriNet services, and everything was fine, until the last year. Apparently, they changed their support model, and by changed I mean there's no support anymore at all. There are people that can take your call, file a ticket, and that's where it ends. Nobody is taking care of the tickets, nobody follows up, nobody can tell you any anything except "we've passed it to internal team, wait more and maybe something happens". Imagine not being able to sign for health insurance for weeks because of some internal Trinet screwup, and nobody bothers to even talk to you, let alone fix the problem. That's what Trinet is now. Their support people do not have access to any tools to help the customers, and can't even check the status of the issue. If you value your time and your employees - avoid this company, choose something else.

Trinet discriminates against its employees and future employees for a multitude of reasons. The hiring process is long and inaccurate information is provided by HR, Recruiting, and the Hiring Managers throughout the entire onboarding process.

I loved TriNet last year in 2020 but in 2021 TriNet changed their Customer Service procedures and instead of being able to get someone quickly on the phone, I now need to wait on hold for a while. Just like ADP. Then TriNet lowered their Customer Service procedures and raised their rate in March. Then TriNet started sending marketing emails to our employees. We are happy with TriNet but we were very happy last year. Hopefully, we can stay happy with TriNet.

We've been using Trinet for about 6 years now, as we grew from 1 employee to 15 employees. Late in 2020, they changed their customer service model away from having a dedicated account service rep to have a mailbox. Since that point, we've been completely unable to get even simple questions answered. All queries are ignored. We're absolutely leaving and, since starting to shop around, have realized that other PEOs provide the same service for less than half the price! We currently pay about $200 per employee per month to Trinet (plus paying for healthcare, etc, etc). Other PEOs (including ADP's PEO, Coadvantage, etc) that I have gotten quotes from are between $100 and $125 for the exact same thing! But they have dedicated account reps. I've also heard that we aren't the only one switching off of Trinet by far. So it seems like it's a sinking ship.

I started using TriNet in 2019 for benefits only as I am a one person business. I did not use the payroll features but this was fine since the benefits were good. At the start of the pandemic, I reached out to my “account manager” asking if payments would be on hold for benefits as no one was working. The AM was rude and callous and told me there was no delay on benefits payments. Even after I said I had no income, she was nasty. I called the person who originally onboarded me to get a new rep. I heard nothing for the rest of the year until this January when they told me my month premiums would be going up by $149. This was fine. I didn’t question it. Until I saw my bill last month. Was more than double my previous bill. They increased my service fee by $850 without telling me.
If I was a large company, this $1000 minimum might not matter but since they are supposed to cater each package to the individual client, it seems odd they would inflict that cost on me when I don’t even use the payroll. And to charge me without a word was outrageous. They also switch es my account manager without so much as word, so when I needed clarification on this, there was no one to speak to who was familiar with my case. I had to keep reexplaining myself and getting different responses. When I reached out to complain to the original onboarding specialist, they were dismissive and didn't really care. It’s a human resource company?! Isn’t part of their job skilled human interaction? I am terminating my account with them and will go with a competitor with a better grasp for communication and customer service. Unless you are a large company, this is not the place for you.

I have been with TriNet since 2018. I was quite happy with them and viewed them as a business partner. They recently moved away from offering a designated person who would help you navigate through the array of services they offer. Now, I get a chat, email or call option (where you sit on hold forever). The emails go unreturned and you have to keep a diary of who you spoke to on what topic and of course, you can never find the same person again for follow up questions or because they didn't follow up. Needless to say, I'm shopping for another company who can provide a more personalized experience. I'm sorry to be leaving, it's a hassle.

Customer service is non-existent. They forgot to complete our autodraft and it caused a disruption in pay. I couldn't get in contact with my assigned account executive to rectify for a week. We were never told why. The new person is not very attentive and responds a few days if not weeks later. There have been mistakes on TriNet's side which we had to fix. If there are changes to the Time Off system balances, it takes weeks to correct. Overall from when we started to now, the service has diminished in the HR rep part. Our payroll seems to be okay right now.

Trinet starts out nice, but we had to recently cancel due to high insurance renewal rates with no attempt to broker any new carrier or relief strategy. Also, Trinet tries to add fees that are not in the service agreement, and in our case they are trying to charge a cancellation fee which they initially told us we wouldn't have to pay. Imagine being with a company and they suddenly tell you they are going to charge you a fee to cancel their service. Now that we use a different PEO we clearly see Trinet's schemes and are spending less money on both insurance and fees.

Do NOT use Trinet. They are shady as **. I signed on, was a member for almost 3 years. As soon as anyone used the health insurance they raised our rates a minimum of 116%! They gave information that conflicted their own accounts of what happened, saying that they couldn't give me the info they were using to make the increases because the contract they have with Aetna is for the entire company, and then in the next breath saying that they "reviewed the details" and that it was a justified increase. I'm also pretty sure breaking down costs this way is not legal. They missed payrolls, tried to charge me (more than once!) for "off cycle" payroll additions even when they were not requested.
They tried to charge me during COVID when my business was legally mandated closed extra money to do what they should have been contracted to do. They instituted a "$1,000 fee" to leave the platform, even though that was NOT in my contract. They then stated that it was instituted in the middle of my time on their platform, and so I was obligated to pay it. They wanted to charge a $1,000 setup fee for any employees that needed COBRA coverage after we left, on top of charging a $75/employee "admin" charge per month for them to access the coverage, as well as a $500/employee setup fee, and the fact that the employee themselves had to pay 102% of the going rate of insurance.
Just as a side note, NONE of the other PEOs I've been looking at charge ANY of these fees. Including the one I'm moving to (which I won't mention so it doesn't look like a promotion. This isn't a promotion of another platform, just a warning against using TriNet!). Do NOT use them. Their fees are 3x higher than most competitors, and they justify this because their health insurance is less expensive. But that's only true for year one, then they have you locked into high admin costs and ridiculous fees if you want to leave.

Updated on 07/01/2020: I am happy to say that TriNet did reach out to try and resolve my prior issue, the problem is that they told me the problem was my fault even though they had screenshots showing the TriNet system errors. Add to this, when I use the TriNet website to look at my projected PTO balance next month, the TriNet system shows that I will earn a whopping 1.54 hours during the next month when I actually will earn 10hrs. If accuracy in benefits accounting is important, you have options.
Original Review: PTO system errors. If you submit a PTO request then you look at your PTO requests, none are listed. No problem just process another request. They let you take 16hrs of PTO for one day, probably would allow you to take 80 hours for one day. I am having to investigate through an individual broker and will have to quit Trinet, as that was a main benefit for me. I hope I can obtain any affordable plan outside the ACA enrollment period. I also had no health changes. My State Senator passed this on the the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, and even though they do not have control over large group plans, are still investigating as of this writing. It's insane. Would never recommend Trinet.

I have been using TriNet for my payroll for the past few years and was very happy with the service. I am a one person company, and Trinet has allowed me access to a good health insurance plan for my son and myself. However, as of 3.1.20, Trinet has upped their monthly "service fee," to a minimum of $500. This is a significant amount for a one person small business; however, to instill this at a time when most small businesses are struggling to stay afloat is unthinkable.
When I spoke to my representative, I was told she "understood my frustration, " however, I am still responsible for the extra money during this time. What kind of company would do this to their customers at a time when we are all just trying to get by?? How could they not waive this fee increase until things settle down and businesses - especially small ones like mine in NYC - are back on their feet?? I find their business practices to be absolutely abhorrent, and I caution anyone who is thinking of using them to think twice. Do you want a company that treats customers like this during such a financially challenging time??

If you had asked me a year ago, I would have said I had a wonderful experience with TriNet. And then they called me in December to tell me my health insurance premiums would be increasing 50-100% because I was a high user of insurance. They refused to put that in writing. When I actually received the new rates, my monthly insurance premium increased by 130%. So in two years my premium rates increased 167%. Thankfully the NY marketplace was still open until Jan 31. Many other state marketplaces were already closed. An increase in rates of plan does not qualify as a life event. I would have been left without insurance coverage if I was not living in NYC. They may not be able to discriminate against pre existing conditions but this is their workaround to continue to discriminate and make health insurance un-affordable to people with pre-existing conditions.
The irony is that I run a business in the fitness/wellness space and the outcome of our work is that we make people healthier. But the ability to continue to run my business has been compromised because of TriNet's shady practices. I requested to speak directly to the CEO and did not get a call back. I requested follow up with higher level customer service at the company and while we played phone tag, they did not return my last phone call and I still have not had the opportunity to speak to them about this issue. Think long and hard before you decide to work with TriNet. I do hope this is keeping their employees up at night knowing how they are adversely affecting people's lives. When something is too good to be true, it's because it is.

Many do not pick up on the "grey" screens and links. 2) The New Hire process is definitely not user friendly. And the I-9 Module is confusing! 3) The Training Modules (i.e. Non-Discrimination/Harassment) is ridiculously time consuming requiring employees to go in/out of the browser maybe 20 times to complete. They spend more time with the logistics to take the course, rather than learning the material being presented. The previous one was just fine, and user friendly! 4) When completing surveys giving both positive & negative feedback, we never hear back from anyone. Thank you.

It all started with an over-sell, which as a CEO, I have come to expect. But then the transition period started. After spending hours upon hours providing data for our small 15 person firm, not one note taken during the countless hours was ever implemented. It was as though I had just wasted all the time and effort. As a result of the disastrous transition, NOTHING has ever worked correctly. We are a small government contractor, so there are certain things that must be done precisely to remain compliant with contract requirements. Because we are a DC firm, we were also told that we would have to manage our own healthcare, which I later discovered was just not true. So after 1 year, we have yet to have one smooth payroll with no errors and although we are paying a fee that is well above industry norm, I am doing more work than ever!
The only thing TriNet does is process the payroll...that is it. I handle HSA/FSA, medical withdrawals and payments, 401k processing and much more. Basically, TriNet is nothing more than a payroll processor (and not a very good one) and a platform that is full of glitches and completely non-customizable. We were told that their online platform would allow us to send out announcements, introduce new employees, etc. NOT TRUE! The platform has one announcement feature which appears if the employee scrolls down their login screen to the bottom, which we know they don't.
Then comes the customer service - I would rate as tied with the worst car salesman and sub-standard restaurant I have ever been to. They all seem to be virtual and can never answer a simple question over the phone. As a small business, every minute I lose to sitting on hold, or waiting for TriNet before I can process payroll, is time I am NOT growing my business. So in the net-net of it, unless you just want to throw away money and still spend most of your time doing HR and payroll, then I would highly recommend you not use TriNet.

Once they had us hooked, the fee increases started. Despite numerous requests to get info on the premiums in February of this year, they informed us about a 20% rate increase on the premiums at a moment that we could not get back to the market to compare prices. Then when we had to accept the new annual premiums because of the time crunch and signed up for another year, Trinet announced that they would increase their service fees even further by 10%. They don't seem to know what is FSA eligible and what is not FSA eligible and can't tell the difference between OTC and supplements. They even ask for a Letter of Medical Necessity for mileage to your doctor! They contradict their own published eligibility list when processing claims. If I submit a claim, the chance they would find a reason to not approve is about 90% and the chance that they get it wrong is at least that much. And there is no way to easily rebuke their "decision." Their form puts your claim in limbo so if you are repealing a claim, you pretty much have to resubmit it. If I can give zero or negative stars, I would! TriNet is simply the worst FSA organization I have ever dealt with!

TriNet failed to deduct city state taxes from half of our staff for an entire year. They then denied all responsibility despite failing to follow our W9 instructions and resident locations for tax deductions. Instead of working with us with transparency they simply told us W2Cs would be issued. Their reporting of who was impacted was lazily thrown together and inaccurate, and they lied about the timeline for delivery of these W2Cs causing major issues for our staff's tax reporting. A complete shirking of accountability. We are frequently asked for PEO recommendations and will be sure to broadcast TriNet's wildly unprofessional behavior.

Our company switched to TriNet SOI in 2016, against all of the information I tried to provide and their shady sales techniques at the start. The onboarding process completely derailed the productivity of our office and several employees went without health insurance for weeks. Despite being told they had it. Since then they have two categories of customer service; inexperienced and A+. Getting a superstar to help you at TriNet is like finding a needle in a haystack. They are not available until you are curled up in a corner in the fetal position, sucking, rocking yourself for comfort.
Fast forward to today with the unmerger or whatever they are calling it. Take the previous unaccountable staff and rachet it up to hair-on-fire. It has always been their word against yours and it's even worse now. Because TriNet is a "digital" company, you will not receive a piece of registered mail, email or even a phone call confirmation that an employee was sent time-sensitive information. We continue to be told someone isn't eligible for health insurance because they didn't respond to an imaginary email they claim they sent.
This happens all the time with other HR and employee issues. They claim they emailed you the info, you didn't respond and it's on you. Like you can prove they emailed something, because they certainly cannot. If you want to tarnish the reputation of your company and spend hours mitigating misinformation and negligence, TriNet is your best bet. On a weekly basis it's like knitting a sweater with TriNet behind you pulling it apart. There wasn't an option to give them zero stars.

They have extremely poor customer service, lucky if you get a call back within a month. If you are looking to augment your staff, certainly will not happen here. You will end up with more on your plate. We spend an inordinate amount of time following on open/unresolved issues with this company. They are not knowledgeable in employer state tax/labor laws. They will assign you a team that does not communicate with each other so you end up training several Trinet staff on your business. They changed the terms of our agreement without notification. They migrated our company to a new platform and provided little to no migration support. They did not verify the data they migrated. I could go on and on but I think you get the point.

From onboarding to exit, dealing with TriNet is an absolutely horrible experience, I can't believe there aren't more regulatory or other compliance issues with this horrible HR outsourcer. Starting with getting access, took several emails and calls just to get onto the system, then benefit selection, payroll and every other little thing was awful. Calling or email or web does not help in any way. After I ended my association with one of their subject companies, they hid behind and lied about nearly everything in off-boarding. Finally, they up and "outsourced" my 401k without telling me or consent and sold my investments and hit me with hefty fees to boot. Then the next outsourcer banged with me with another hefty fee that wiped out my gains from any investment in the year, just to get my money back. Awful, awful, awful.

Talk about over-promising and under-delivering. Our system just launched and I have already spent more hours than I would ever want to count trying to fix their errors, with many more hours yet to come. Most of the customization can only happen on the backend and you have to ask multiple times before anything is fixed. We have employees who are unable to login or select benefits. Rates changed at the last minute and increased from the amount quoted to us and then by us to our employees. Even after the benefits start date of 1/1, rates changed from one week to the next. The system takes 24+ hours to update so you will continue to receive prompts to enroll in benefits or complete an I9 even after you've finished the task (assuming you're even able to access the system). Completion of direct deposit forms were not processed in time and some employees are receiving paper checks.
The platform itself is a mess. I've now sent our implementation "specialist" more than 20 screenshots of error messages that I receive when trying to generate basic payroll reports, and apparently no one is able to fix them. Employees have received auto-generated emails confirming retirement contributions that were improperly populated. Although I was able to get them to fix the errors (I hope), apparently they can only generate the letters once so there's no way for employees to receive correct confirmation. You have to enter each employee manually, no batch changes or uploads. We were previously using very basic systems and thought this would reduce the administrative burden and increase employee options. Instead I have justifiably irate employees and spend far too much of my time simultaneously trying to fix the problems, and apologizing. Our salesperson was great, unfortunately it's been all downhill ever since.

Now we are too late to go back to the company we had and have no payroll company or insurance for our employees. I don't think this should be legal.

I cannot begin to describe the incompetence of TriNet's PEO services. From the very first day of implementation it was a disaster and has only gone downhill since then. 6 weeks into payroll we are still having issues and we even have an employee who is still not enrolled in benefits! I was completely lied to during the sales process, everything I was told I would have access to I don't. Our employees' changes are not going through, their taxes are being messed up and reverting back to old elections, one employee's benefits increased without him making a change or being notified of any change. Every week it's a headache and I still don't have any answers as to why these issues happen. I've heard of many companies pulling out during implementation and I wish we would have to. We are already looking to go back to our old PEO. I guess you get what you paid for but I would strongly urge you to reconsider if you are thinking of signing on with TriNet.

If you are looking at PEO's ensure you do more research outside of implementing TriNet! When something goes wrong - it is an excuse or blaming someone else. We received our 3K implementation fees back due to so many issues during implementation. Our company size was minimized as "well you are only 30 people" - when I informed TriNet we have 50 in another country and we are scaling quickly. TriNet fails to recognize the power or an organization growing. If you hire a PEO it is supposed to alleviate the pain of HR/Payroll. I can say the opposite as I have interacted with other PEO's and not had this issue. Another excuse (due to escalation) was "we" meaning TriNet - have gone through a lot of change and acquisition - "we are growing too" - not truly a good reason of the "why's" everything is going so poorly.

If you spend the majority of your time getting new reps up to speed, it can be frustrating based on my experience. I was assigned a new rep in March. During the last 6 months, I never heard from him. I was let go from my company on 12/12/2016. As required, I went through the process to decline health insurance, as I had registered and prepaid for insurance through ACA. Despite assurances to the contrary, the premium was taken from my last paycheck on 12/22/2016. I have since been told twice now that reimbursement had been processed; " ... the check was fedexed on 1/6..." On 1/17 when I had not received the check, they backtracked, said there was some delay in processing (then how could it have been fedexed on 1/6?). After several emails and lengthy phone calls, I was again assured the check was processed and would be posted directly to my account on 2/1, or 2/6 at the latest. Today, 2/6 I'm back to lengthy phone calls and the promise of escalation along with apologies.
So, were their actions FRAUDULENT or NEGLIGENT? 1) Taking the premium from my last paycheck, after declined insurance through them. 2) Telling me the reimbursement check had been mailed to me on 1/6, but NEVER sending it. 3) Telling me again the check had been issued on 2/1 and would be posted to my account by 2/3, or 2/6 at the very latest. 4) On 2/6, the check had not posted to my account as they assured me (second time they falsely made that assurance), I find that the posted in through 'snail mail' the supervisor's words. So, after many hours in phone calls, and emails from 12/23 to 2/6, several times they had the chance to handle this properly, their last action is to put it in the slowest mail they could. Not even a good faith attempt to expedite this.

Allocating tasks such as payroll to an outside source was easy as pie. Seeing as though paying our employees is extremely important, I must give a score of ten out of ten. It's always difficult to train such a large group of people, however it is beyond important that everyone is at least in the same page. Employees should not be giving different answers on the same subject and be afraid to ask for help. PEO companies are chosen for their ease and pricing. It's important that cost is not only comparable but, beats the competition. Does this company give more bang for the buck? Yes.

Unfortunately when you need any special reports that you do not have access to it is almost impossible to get the to send them to you. Plan to ask for them with PLENTY of time in advance. Especially the tax department. The tax department has a tendency to act like they are doing such important work so they cannot possibly answer emails, send reports or pay some of your taxes. They did not pay my SUTA tax in for several quarters in 2015 with no explanation (they were too busy to answer).
When I demanded an explanation from everyone I could get a hold that I knew there as to why the tax was not being filed or paid they blamed it on the difficulties they were having with the state unemployment departments and that it takes time to resolve issues. Well I too was in contact with the state unemployment office and there were no issues and SOI/TRINET had NOT contacted them at all. So they lied. Meanwhile, I needed a filling and didn't have the time to wait for TriNet to fix their mistake, so I went to dentist that accepted the insurance I was actually enrolled in (and was paying for).
When TriNet finally changed me to right insurance plan, they retroactively enrolled me, so the dentist I had seen no longer accepted my insurance and my claim was denied. I appealed this with TriNet multiple times since it was them that made the mistake, but without justifying their decision, they simply told me the appeal was denied and I would be forced to pay out of pocket. I also had to contact them just to get them to refund me the difference between the two insurance plans. TriNet my PEO took it upon themselves to approve two unemployment claims which increased by suta rate. For years I was charged the highest rate since the State of FL based it on their company instead of just mine. When they finally changed the law and I was able to benefit from the low rate, the savings was substantial. Unfortunately, this only lasted one year. TriNet never gave me the opportunity to reply to the State when two of my employees were terminated due to having abandoned their jobs. The claims were never addressed and because of this, one former employee who was arrested for domestic violence and assaulting a police officer and the other left to go on vacation and decided to not return are receiving unemployment checks on my account. They also never forwarded the unemployment letter from the State of Florida stating the new rate which also allows you to dispute the rate within a 30 day period.
When I confronted them with this issue, I was told that an email (which I never received) was sent to me. No follow up phone call at all. I asked to speak to the unemployment division of their company but was told I was not allowed. I had to go through my rep, who then had to go to her supervisor. Their response was that they did nothing wrong. I then took it up with the human resource rep, who basically just tried to smooth things over. I then asked to speak to a supervisor in that department. I finally received a call and was told that she would do some research and get back to me. The next contact was an email telling me she was going on vacation and would handle it when she returned. I never heard from her again and that was over four months ago. I just recently sent her another email (that is their preferred form of communication) and I received a call from my ex-human resource rep. They change their reps constantly.
I basically was told that what was done cannot be changed and how do we move forward. They handled my unemployment claims without my knowledge and I am stuck with paying thousands of dollars more than I should be. The worst part of it all is that they allowed two people, one a felon and the other a crackhead to receive unemployment benefits when they really did not qualify. I think this is a big deal and someone should be accountable but they just want it to go away. I could end the relationship but the health insurance holds me hostage. They are supposed to look out for their clients' interests not make costly decisions in their behalf.

I was under the impression TriNet was an impartial HR alternative for small and start-up companies. There is, supposedly, a formal complaint process to fairly handle HR related issues. My experience is that TriNet works (and is paid) by the Company and the way they handle complaints is to impede the process and find in favor of who pays the bills.
I filed a serious compliance complaint against one of the officers in my company. During the complaint submission process, I was told TriNet needed to get 'permission' for from the Company to discuss the situation with me. I was taken aback by the need to ask 'permission' but thankfully permission granted. I met with the TriNet representative with all the documentation supporting my complaint. Initial feedback was that this was indeed a very serious issue which should be handled promptly and thoroughly. The representative stated that the next steps were to discuss the situation with other employees and the officer in question. The representative also stated that I would receive feedback of any findings.
My inside information reported back that TriNet DID NOT reach out to many of the company employees I stated were witness or involved to the events. In addition, the employee interviews that did take place were months (2-3) delay from my initial meeting with TriNet. This was not a thorough investigation and definitely was not considered prompt.
The worst part is that I have never heard from TriNet again. No call. No report. Nothing. I attempted to contact the TriNet representative who did my interview (4 months after the incident, 2 months after the internal review). No return call. Reflecting back on the entire process, TriNet is a Company biased HR alternative, not the employees. Should TriNet favor for employees against the company then TriNet may jeopardize future contract renewals and business. TriNet is a great resource for payroll and benefits - but do not believe that TriNet is looking after the rights of employees.

Constant FSA Issues.
So here's the deal. I have been trying to submit my Flexible Savings Account claims for the past two weeks. I feel like each time I submit a claim, the automatic reply is a rejection; TriNet seemingly rejects FSA claims as a matter of practice, so I called TriNet.
I was put on hold, at first for 3 minutes; then after the 3 minutes, the hold time was updated to 5 minutes.
Once I finally got a representative on the phone, they asked me my issue; then asked me for a bunch of information; then once I provided the information, they asked me my issue again (I think she had forgotten in the last minute). So once I explained my issue (for the second time), it turned out that the receipt I'd provided wasn't enough for them to process the claim.
So... it turns out I have to either chase down the original medical provider to get a better receipt (how this is possible, I don't know) or also provide the Explanation of Benefits from my insurance company.
Lesson learned: When submitting FSA reimbursements, always include a copy of the EOB from your insurance company (even if your PEO organization doesn't tell you that you should).

I haven't had any problems since the onboarding - about 3 years.

My employer uses the PEO TriNet to handle our insurance plans, payroll and general HR requirements. I used TriNet's on boarding process to choose my health plans, and then confirmed that the health plans I chose were processed by TriNet. However, TriNet never on boarded me onto my health plan (Aetna), and when I called TriNet, their explanation was they just didn't do it. Would I like them to try again? TriNet had this same issue with other employees at my company. My impression is that TriNet has poor attention to detail and may be cutting corners.
