Purchased my Nissan Titan truck back in 2012 as a used truck. I got a gray seal for the truck and have paid it almost completely off in the 6 years I have owned it. I love the size of it. It's a little bigger than a midsize truck. It rides smoothly and has seated heats for the front. I wish the leather held up a little better for the arm rests in the front. Also they could do a better job on putting a liner in the truck and not making it an additional bonus. Still, I enjoyed the look of this truck as opposed to Dodges or Chevys. This truck fits my lifestyle better than the others.

I have a 2016 Nissan Titan XD. I was one of the first ones to purchase this vehicle when they came out in 2016 in the state of New Hampshire. Overall the vehicle has satisfied most of my needs. Toes good. Runs good. Overall looks pretty good. I have no doubt the Cummins Engine will perform for many miles to come with minimal problems. As for the Nissan truck itself I have my doubts about it lasting as long as the engine. Poorly made in my opinion weak thin aluminum, rusting frame prematurely, and the biggest problem I'm currently having is the mixing gate for the climate control. The latest problem is my less than two year old black chrome rims All 4 are chipping and peeling the Chrome off.
I've contacted Nissan even though the vehicle is out of warranty, just missing the hundred thousand mile warranty by two and a half months. You would think a major manufacturer would stand by their products but Nissan has claimed they will only pay 80% towards the cost of an $820 rim... The only satisfaction I'm getting is that the dealership is willing to make some sacrifices to make me happy in place of Nissan who I believe should pay 100% of the cost of new rims for this vehicle. One of the other plaguing problems of this is the noxious odor while idling in traffic from the DEF I'm assuming. Can actually make your eyes sore from the fumes...
Poor product in my opinion and a poor response by Nissan to take care of him building a good product especially for the amount of money that this truck was paid for. Will definitely not purchase another Nissan product as this is my 5th product from Nissan. When this truck dies it will be the end of my relationship with this car company. Hopefully no one else makes the mistake and trusting Nissan with this product, too much money to throw away on poor quality. Thank you.

I bought a brand new Nissan Titan SV, regular cab long bed truck. It was a 2017 that was being deeply discounted. After one day, the truck had a terrible vibration when on the highway. Went back to the dealer immediately. I was told 3 of the 4 tires could not be balanced and after 3 days, I finally got my truck back. Truck still had vibration, but it was less. I took it back again the next week and was told that the 4th tire road balanced, so it would not be replaced. But service technician did agree that there was a definite vibration at 60+ mph. After another three days sitting at the dealership, I was told that this is a known issue with the trucks, but it was running and driving as designed. REALLY??? Nissan designed a truck to give you a free vibra-massage on the highway???
Filed a complaint/claim with Nissan corporate. All you get is some 20-something year old person telling you how sorry they are that I feel that way. But they are prepared to do nothing for me because the truck is operating as designed. What a piece of junk. I'm now going to start going through the process in Ohio for the "Lemon Law" refund/replacement of the truck. I'll keep everyone updated.

The Nissan Titan S's weight and cabin height allows a comfortable driving view and a feel safe environment while driving. The 7 speed automatic transmission gives a good 20 mpg of gas consumption. With a big 8 engine gas mileage is great.

Bought 2017 titan XD, I have owned it for 7 months, and put 14000 miles on it. Paint looks terrible. Has chips all over the truck looking like I have driven all 14000 miles on gravel. Customer service blames me and will take no responsibility for bad paint. Truck has only been driven on interstate and in town, all paved roads. I am very disappointed in Nissan and don’t hang your hopes on them taking care of you, when you go in for warranty work they will word it like it is your fault and they will not cover it. Buyer beware.

I bought my Titan new in 2005. At 35 thousand miles rear end went out. Not covered because warranty out. Now it's 2018 and my truck has just over 60 thousand miles, exhaust manifold gaskets need replaced of course not covered because of the year. Nissan refused to help. My truck is my second vehicle and I treat it well. But this really pissed me off that they won't even pay half of it. When I read everyone else's complaints it really worries me of what could happen next.
Updated on 04/30/2018: So here is a update on my '05 Titan that have very low miles for the year. Shop took apart the truck to replace exhaust manifold gaskets. Manifolds are so warped they can't be outback on. Nissan is not even willing to help out. My truck has just over 60 thousand miles.

I bought a 2017 Nissan Titan SV crew cab back in September of 2017. I have to say, this truck is the biggest piece of junk I’ve ever driven. My 1989 Chevy Dually with the slow, heavy 7.4L engine is more responsive than the POS ‘17 Titan SV. Every time I come to a complete stop then accelerate, the truck hesitates for about 1 or 2 seconds then takes off like a bat outta hell. Also, the seven speed automatic POS transmission takes way too long to find the correct speed when passing or trying to get out of the way to avoid a collision. I’ve taken the Titan to Nissan twice for these issues and the only thing the technician tells me is that they are aware of the problems, but they can’t do anything about it because there have been no recalls. No more Nissan for me!!!

AutoNation not Nissan resolved the issue with the Titan XD Diesel. My hat is off to AutoNation which took the bull by the horns and did what is right. While Nissan corporate wimps hide under their desks and do nothing. I would like to thank the Sales Manager, Service Coordinator and General Manager at AutoNation in Chandler, AZ for helping me out with the lemon that I purchased. To anyone, considering a new vehicle in Arizona or near by I highly recommend the Team at AutoNation in Chandler, AZ. They stand by their word and will do what is right to take care of the customer.

I purchased the 2017 Nissan Titan Pro4X and it is the biggest piece of junk that I have ever purchased. At 1100 miles the engine started going into regen mode every 100 to 200 miles. My fuel economy went from 20.8 mpg to 9.8 mpg. Once, after it went into regen the engine light came on and Nissan said that they cannot find anything wrong. The cruise control cannot be set when first turned on, sometimes it requires the engine to be at the operating temperature then other times you can set it before the temperature gauge has moved.
The wheels make a loud noise when turned hard either direction. They replaced the plastic stops but said that will not last long. I was working a crime scene and there was a light mist falling so I turned on the intermittent wipers. Well guess what, they will not work in a light mist, just another detail left out. The regen fluid level indicator does not work and Nissan says it is only designed to give a reading when low. I work with law enforcement (this was told to the salesman up front) and have to secure crime scenes which requires me to idle the engine so as not to run down the batteries with my warning lights, well guess what. The Nissan salesperson said that would be no problem.
After a few minutes of idling, the engine accelerated to over 2000 rpm and smelled like it was going to catch on fire. Nissan now says that you cannot idle the engine after they told me that idling the engine for long periods was not a problem at the time of the sale. Also when the engine goes into regen mode part of the exhaust system can get up to 1100F, this is a 4 wheel drive so if you are in a field with high grass you can cause a fire. Well I sometimes have to be in fields to secure a scene. This SMALL detail was left out at the time of the sale also.
On a cold morning (38F) when I tried to start the engine and the display showed "WAIT" which lasted about 30 seconds. I could not get an answer from Nissan's technical expert as to what the "WAIT" was about. I know that there is an engine warming message for cold morning but not a wait message. I filed this information (case number on file) with Nissan Corporation and their management attitude is that we cannot fix these problems and we will not give you your money back even though you were lied to and the vehicle will not function for what you bought it for.
To anyone considering a Nissan DO NOT BUY IT. Nissan will not (cannot) fix the vehicle and will not stand behind it even when they admit that I was lied to. Their technical support expert (if you want to call him that) spouts the corporate hogwash and does not support the customer. He just basically says that is what you bought and that is the way it works and there is nothing that he can do about it. Again once you buy from Nissan, you are stuck with it even though they admit that they cannot fix the problems.

2017 Titan SL. Within 2 weeks, the rear passenger window would not open from the driver's control. Pigtail (Electrical) issue needed to be replaced. The passenger side rear glass panel needed to be replaced because the defroster would not work. Truck is currently in the Nissan dealership for 10 days and counting due to 2 water leaks on the passenger side in the front and rear. Still cannot find the leak. Replacing carpet due to mold concerns. Molding under driver seat is bent and the Rockford Fosgate grill on dash is bent and needed to be replaced. Nissan used to mean quality. I would guess it does not anymore.

For the last 3 months, I have been paying for a 2016 Nissan Titan XD that I cannot drive and has been sitting at a Nissan dealership. Since purchasing the truck in 2016 (brand new) I have experienced nothing but headaches, loss of time and money. In December of 2017 and at 15,000 miles, I took my truck for an oil change and was advised by the Service Technician to have the fuel filters replaced, biggest mistake of my life! Which caused me $402. After the service, I received a warning light "service fuel system." I returned to the dealership, was told the issue was fixed. Drove the truck home and the next day, the truck hesitated to start, I returned to the dealership, was told the problem was fixed. Drove the truck to work and the next morning, the truck would not start.
I had to tow the truck to the dealership at my expense. I received a call from the dealership indicating they found DEF fluid in the diesel fuel. Surprising to me, as the truck had sat at their dealership for a month. I had to pay for a "fuel system cleaning" for a problem that I did not cause, $160. Keep in mind that it took about a month before I received my truck back. I was contacted by the dealership that the truck was ready, I picked it up, drove it home and discovered that the battery was leaking acid. The following day, the truck would not start AGAIN! I had the truck towed to a different Nissan dealership to conduct a complete diagnostic, again I had to come out of pocket, $390 in order to find the cause of the problem!
I am now being told that DEF fluid is still in the system and it will cost me $13,000 that might NOT fix the problem! Best of all, I told the Service Technician that I discovered that my truck had been driven 200 additional miles, this is while the truck was being repaired at the original Nissan dealership. I contacted Nissan Corporate in Tennessee and was basically told "have a nice day" and that the bumper to bumper warranty would not cover the issue. Save yourself the headaches, stress, and your money, it's not worth it!

Only had truck (2016 Titan XD) 1 week. Took it back. Complained about shifting problems. They told me they were already working on a fix. So they sold me a truck they knew had problems. It has been 12 months and after a few attempts at programming it is better but still not right. This year since January 1 I have only been able to drive truck for 3 week. The rest of the time it sits at the dealer because it won't start in cold weather and has caused def issues. It's too bad, it's a nice truck but the warranty does not seem to be worth the paper it is written on. And try and get in contact with anyone that can actually help at NISSAN is impossible. Asked dealer for phone number for Ontario rep. He refused claiming he would be walked out. Biggest financial mistake of my life buying this truck. Saved for 10 years to buy luxury vehicle for retirement. Had to go back to work one more year, cant deal with all the problems.

I’ve had one truck brought back and replaced already. The second has spent months at the dealership. The truck has a bad pull and eats tires. Last visit for this issue lasted a month and at the end I was told they couldn’t align the truck. It still has numerous issues. Currently in the lawsuit phase.

We have had 2 Titans in our business fleet (we have also have Fords that are not so comfy but at least they run). The 2008 Titan ECM Engine control computer failed at 110,00 km or 69,000 miles. It was difficult to diagnose the problem and the part alone cost $1,300 - and hard to locate. 2 weeks later and 3k later- it was back on the road. Our 2010 Titan was recalled because of heater actuator problems. (No heat or air-conditioning) It was changed just after purchase. It failed at 80,000 km or 49,000 miles.
To fix this, the whole dash has to come apart... Yep the whole freaking dash to change a $100 part that was recalled but no longer under warranty. (6 years or 160 kms.) We have half the kms and 2 out of 3 actuators failed and some other part under hood that involves heat has let go too. My truck has been in the shop for a week getting fixed- I am still waiting for it. This is a known problem for Titans. Look it up on YouTube. It's really something to see people trying to DIY fix this junk.

Do not compare a Nissan Titan to older Titan because I had a 2008 Titan SV. It was the best vehicle I owned. I traded the vehicle for a newer 2017 Titan SL. I can say they are very different. The new 2017 Titan SL is garbage. I have had the vehicle for 18 months and have taken the vehicle issue because of the transmission of the vehicle and some other part needed to be replace. Well, as for as the transmission this was having the truck for about three months. I took the truck to get looked at but the only excuse they gave me was that the truck needed to get use to the way I drive.
I haven’t ever heard of that. But ok. The truck do not have any traction. It bounces a lot when going a certain speed. My sister started driving the truck with only about 8,000 miles and she started complaining about how the truck drove. So, today I made a decision to get rid of it because it is big hunk of junk. The truck had depreciated so much I just had to just take what I could get for it. So, for those who wish to buy a Titan good luck because it is garbage and the maintenance service is going to blame it on you. A lesson learned from me. Just remember the $20,000 you will lose on the car when you drive it. Because it will be worth half the price you paid for. Nissan need to stop making trucks.

I've had multiple times where my truck (2017 Nissan Titan), that will be 1 year, in my possession, tomorrow -- has zero power. It is the bells and whistles deluxe truck. No power, means stranded. Of course by the time I pop the hood and power is restored and I go to the dealer--nothing is wrong. Nothing is wrong with paying for a NEW FREAKING TRUCK that has you stranded. Nothing.

I purchased a 2016 Nissan Titan XD brand new from Nissan. I live in Upper state New York. When I purchase this vehicle I questioned the lack of a heater block. I was told I did not need it this winter. For 3 weeks my truck has not been able to start and if I get it started a DEF warning light comes on. After researching I have found that DEF fluid freezes at 12 degrees Fahrenheit. There is no heater attached to this Reservoir and it only is heated when the truck is running.
I have been unable to use my truck for 3 weeks. It is sitting at a Nissan dealer awaiting parts that are not available in the United States. If I put the heater core on this truck it will not solve the DEF fluid problem. There is no additive or external heater for this Reservoir. I am hoping Nissan realizes the inconvenience it is putting its customers through and rectify this problem. We spend enough money to purchase these trucks only to have them set because somebody did not think of those of us who live in the cold weather. I realize the DEF is for emissions but it does no good when it freezes and you cannot use your vehicle.

I purchased a 2017 Nissan Titan XD Pro4x with the Cummins Turbo Diesel in October. I live in Canada and we do get some cold weather, but this truck only has 5000 miles on it. The truck won't start in cold winter weather even when the truck is plugged in all night. If you live in a cold location don't buy this truck if you need a reliable cold starter.

After reading several reviews on Consumer Affairs I've realized that many of the issues I'm having with my 2016 Titan XD are common to that truck. At this time I'm experiencing the same d e f issues as one of the other Titan owners plus I'm also experiencing the hard shifting that one of the other Titan owner's had spoke of on Consumer Affairs. I'm wondering if this is a lemon that I bought. After sitting for a day outside at 7 degrees below zero my Titan won't start and also gave me a d e f warning error alert and now tells me I have a hundred ninety-five miles left before it goes into 5 mile an hour mode.
Also I've had shifting problems since the day I got it. Is it the rear end was slipping. I take it into the dealer several times and about the same issue and got the same answer as the other reviewer spoke of with his shifting problem. Oh it's just the way they shift they say. Well I know that is probably going to be about the time the warranty is runs out that the rear end is probably going to go out. I'm wondering if we all should get together and seek legal advice.

Hello everyone, I purchased a 2016 Nissan Titan XD SL, I've had issues with this vehicle and I am tired of taking it to the dealership with no major resolution to the problem. The issues I have are stalling when making a right turn over 45 miles an hour. The truck has been balanced three times so far due to the vehicle steering to the right, and this issue continues. When making a sudden stop or in some cases coming to a complete stop as you press the power it stalls and jerks very badly not all the time but enough to make me upset and question the truck's reliability.
The transmission has been updated twice with no resolution. Currently I have a case with Nissan in which I've asked them to purchase the vehicle back. I am not saying all Titan XD's are bad but keep in mind my truck was one of the first to be produced. I honestly feel this is a manufacturing defect. The truck only has 8000 miles this is why I feel I can ask Nissan to buy it back. If you start having issues with your truck take it to your dealership, have it documented. The more you have the better this can help you if for some reason you need to contact Nissan about an issue.
The last issue I want to share with you is the hesitation between the pedal and the response in some cases it's taken a couple of seconds about 4 to 5 seconds. If you ever need to get out of a bad situation we all need a truck that will respond to the drivers needs. The truck does really well when towing. The space seats are really comfortable. I feel this truck is a good balance if Nissan is willing to fix the issues stated in this review. I hope this review was helpful and thank you for your time.

I purchased a 2017 Nissan Titan XD SV in Billings, MT in August of 17. I loved the truck for its nice ride, super comfortable seats, solid build quality. Cons: turbo lag/torque management from a stop is excessive if accelerator pushed down any more than quarter way. Transmission timing is poor and hinders engine output. Factory tire size, 265/60R20, offers little options for A/T tires. The final straw! Block heater failed at 4,400 miles. Truck will not start anywhere around 0 deg F! Traded it in for $42,000, booked for $39k, purchase price nearly $56k! The cold start issue affects nearly all the diesel so don't buy if you live in cold country!

2017 Nissan Titan SL - So far the best truck ever. Has been 100% reliable, far more powerful than my old Ford F150 traded in for the Titan. The Ford kept on blowing up its spark plugs and left it barely able to move past 50 mph. My SL Titan has more technology than my Infiniti sport sedan or my Lexus SUV but is still a heavy duty truck. While the 2002 F150 struggled to go 65 mph uphill, the Titan can easily pass 100 mph going up a steep mountain road. The ride is quiet and smooth. It has Rockford Fosgate audio, just as good as my Infiniti Bose system. The engine is made in USA, Tennessee and is just as good the Japanese engines made by Lexus or Infiniti. The 7 speed tranny is far smooth and faster than what my old Ford had; the Ford would announce each shift with a bump.
The Titan is American designed as only Americans use this kind of vehicle; I test drove all the other makes like Ram, GM, Chevy, Ford, Toyota and the Titan was the best truck. I also got the year end $6000 rebate that left the others higher in cost. Nissan also just extended their warranty to 5 years/100,00 0 miles, so the choice was easy. It also runs off road just as good as any Ford truck and I go hunting in national forest where there is no cell service, on the top of mountains. What is also more important is that the Titan has more American made parts than the Dodge Ram, make in Mexico.

I purchased a new 2017 Nissan Titan XD and it has been the worst experience I have ever had with a new vehicle. 350 miles of ownership, start hearing metal on metal sound when turning the wheels all the way to either direction. Dealer replaced the wheel stopper (a thin piece of plastic) with a slightly thicker piece of plastic wheel stopper. That was Nissan's fix for this widely spread known issue on the wheel stopper that is causing this heiress sound. Not even 2 weeks later, the same metal on metal screeching sound is back and it has to go for another plastic wheel stopper. Actually the mechanic at the dealership did say that this fix will not last long and eventually it will be a recall but God knows when.
At 900 miles I start hearing a rattling sound from under the hood every time I drove on imperfect road or HWY which is 99% of our roads in GA are that way. The rattling noise kept getting louder and louder and dealer cannot figure out where it is coming from. Very aggravating sound that you expect to hear from 10 years old truck. Not from a new truck with 900 miles. At 1100 miles, I start hearing a whistling sound when going over 60 mph coming from the windshield area. I checked everything possible that could cause this whistling noise to no avail. Another irritating sound to deal with when driving this piece of ** truck. I am ready to get rid of this darn thing and save myself and my family the frustration.
Just found out that the re-selling value on Titan is one of the worst out there. I am going to end up losing over $9K to trade this poorly made truck with something else. Do NOT waste your money on Titan or Titan XD. Save yourself the trouble and spend the extra $$ to begin with and get a better quality truck. Looks is deceiving. Yup, it is a good looking truck on the outside and yes it has nice interior and yes it is cheaper than other trucks but it is cheaper because it is put together very cheaply. The money you are saving upfront on Titan XD, will end up costing you more in the long run. Plus the saving is definitely not worth the aggravation and sickening feeling when you drive it and experience the squeezing, rattle, whistling sounds and vibration.

20000 miles def error message. 190 miles till limp mode. Went to Fuccillo Nissan. 4 days for repair. Picked up 80 miles later check engine light on. Def error message on and off several times. Back to another dealer for repairs. Truck shifts poorly from new. Always pulled to right. Poor mileage. Harsh ride. Frustrated and stuck with junk.

2017 Titan XD with 17,000 miles taken to dealership for driving issues. Dealer informed me that the truck needed to be aligned and it was $100 not covered under warranty. I contacted Nissan Corporate who confirmed this. However multiple forums list the Titan XD as having alignment issues and in a couple cases they purchased the vehicle back because they could not get the problem corrected. Total failure of a product!

I am writing the review to see if others with the 2017 Nissan Titan SV have the same or similar problems with their truck. We bought the truck in November, 2017 and looking back the truck had a "vibration" from day one that we honestly did not give too much thought about until the vibration progressed into a wobble. When we test drove the truck, the roads are so bad by the dealership that a professional driver would not have noticed the vibration upon the test drive.
We took it to dealership after we purchased because front tires were worn on the outside bilaterally. They gave us a wheel alignment and told us the tires were within the "acceptable wear" so they did not bother to replace the front tires. Looking back, I should have raised Cain about that fact. We took it for a second oil change at about 10K miles and discovered an oil leak in the engine. We took it to dealership, they repaired the oil leak, replaced the front tires, gave us another wheel alignment and balanced the tires.
That same day, the oil was pouring out of the truck. Dealership brought us loaner truck to the location we were stranded and fixed the oil leak again. Mind you, I immediately noticed the loaner truck had no vibration or acceleration issues, and was sporting the same General Grabber tires that my truck has. Just saying... Dealership swapped out vehicles at my work which was nice considering that the dealership is about a 45 minute drive for me.
Vibration never resolved and it once again progressed into a wobble, and we took truck back to dealership. They road balanced the tires and gave us new rims and told us to drive it afterwards. The vibration was still there. Mind you the "vibration" I am referring to is not only felt in the steering wheel and seats when driving, but I videoed on my phone camera a half bottle of soda rattling and bouncing around in the cup holder causing the carbonation to fizz as I drove.
So I immediately drove the truck back the dealership and told them it is still vibrating. The technician got in the truck with me, admitted he felt the vibration, but that the vibration "was normal, it's a truck". This is BS!! And I know it is because the loaner truck did not vibrate like our truck, and I've driven many new trucks in my day that never had the vibration, tire wear and oil pressure issues this truck has. They told me they were going to try to have the tires upgraded to Michelin tires. That never panned out, and I never heard back from them.
After approximately 500-800 miles the front tires are showing signs of wear on the outside again. Also, there is a "tick" when the engine is idling, and the truck's oil pressure seems to fluctuate up and down that you can hear. Upon acceleration, the truck also hesitates and almost "chokes" before it begins to smoothly move forward. It is now at the dealership for the fourth time.
I have contacted Nissan North America. The Consumer Affairs person, Brianna, was immediately hostile with me, even though I flat out told her that I just want the truck fixed and if it can't be fixed, that I was confident Nissan would stand behind their product and do the right thing with a replacement. The service techs are telling Nissan that they determined that everything in the truck is "functioning as designed" and that "they are unable to replicate the vibration".
Even though they have the video of the soda bottle bouncing all over the cup holder, admitted it was unacceptable, and the technician admitted he felt the vibration when driving with me in the truck, and the fact that the tires show wear on the outside within 1000 miles, I am being told that there is nothing wrong with the truck and it is functioning as designed. Really? So, did Nissan intend to the design a truck that its loyal owners would have to replace tires every 10,000 miles? Did Nissan intend to a design a truck that has oil pressure issues and acceleration issues? The Nissan field technician is coming in to look at the truck at this point.
The other major issue we are having is the lousy road handling with the truck when we are towing our RV. It literally feels like the RV is yanking the truck all over the road, and I am fighting the truck the entire time to keep the truck on the road. We have a top of the line sway package that we use when towing our RV, and I use the towing feature on the Titan. My husband has indicated that the RV appears to be perfectly fine and traveling straight when he was driving behind me when I was towing the RV with the truck.
Like I said, I am battling the truck when I tow because it feels like it is being thrown from side to side. We purposely bought the Titan to have more power, but it seems we gave up the important road handling in the process. I can tell you, even though my Ford had less power than the Titan, the Ford pulled the RV like a dream on the highway.
Stay tuned to see how Nissan North America deals with this situation. Do they stand behind their product and treat their customers right, or do they CYA and stick it to their customers, who stood by them and purchased their break out 1/2 ton truck on a "go big or go home year" for Nissan with competition from Dodge, Ford and Chevy. Does anyone else have similar issues with their 2017 Nissan Titan SV?
Updated on 12/06/2017: Met with Nissan North America Field Technician who informed me that the vibration in my truck "will never go away because the suspension on the truck is so tight that it absorbs the road conditions". The solution is to "change the numbers" for the fourth wheel alignment that the truck is receiving and to "change out the tires to Michelins which is a softer tire and will help absorb the road conditions".
I am VERY skeptical about the explanation from Nissan and the solution. Why do all the other 2017 Nissan Titan SVs with General Grabber tires and the same suspension not have the same issues I am having with excessive tire wear and vibration? Also, now I am married to Michelin tires and can never just go to say a Firestone to get new tires and a wheel alignment because I have some special alignment numbers that the field specs don't support and that requires the most expensive tire on the market.
As for the oil pressure and acceleration issues, field tech mentioned that there is "an update" that will resolve this issue, and the "tick" noise when idling is because of the high pressure oil pump. This also sounds like a very sketchy explanation of the problems. For now, I am going to test out the Nissan "solutions", but in the meantime, I am having an attorney look into my claims thus far to see if this truck is a valid lemon law case or not.
I am also out of pocket approximately $170 for the damage waiver on the rental vehicle that Nissan provided me while my truck has been sitting in the shop for the last 8-9 days. Nissan pays for a rental but not the damage waiver coverage. Why should I subject my personal insurance to any potential claims for a rental vehicle that I am forced to drive because the brand new truck I purchased and am paying for is having major issues?

I purchased a brand new 2017 Nissan Titan SV Crew Cab on March 23, 2017. It had 1 mile on it. Around 5000 miles the truck started squeaking loudly and repetitively from the suspension. I went to the Florence, SC Nissan dealership 4 times before calling Nissan USA and the problem was not fixed. My 5th trip to Nissan and the squeaking has subsided but the rattling is now much louder coming from under the truck. It can be heard inside even with the radio on. I just never ever thought a NISSAN $46,000 truck would or could sound like a 1997 Ford with 283000 miles on it. DO NOT BUY A 2017 NISSAN TITAN SV CREW CAB. I hope to get this problem repaired this week if the mechanics there can figure out what it is AGAIN. I seriously am questioning the integrity and skills of the makers and mechanics working at Nissan. Stay tuned.

I purchased a brand new 2017 Nissan Titan. It gave me mari transmissión problems and the parking sensors went off whenever they felt like it. 300 miles into my new purchase the truck wouldn't move. I was stuck in a Walmart Parking lot. People were honking. I had to push my new truck. This was embarrassing. Took it to the dealer. They fixed it and a month or so later the truck would hesitate and jump. Tranny would jerk and lose power. I then took it, was without my truck for 20 + days. They replaced the transmissión valve body. The truck kept giving me problems. I was fed up. Took it to Carmax. THIS TRUCK LOSES SO MUCH VALUE IT'S SCARY! They offered way less I would have to pay to be out of it. I couldn't trade it in. The truck kept giving me transmissión problems. It's clearly a lemon. STAY AWAY FROM TITAN. THEY ARE BAD TRUCKS. Learn from my experience. They don't hold value and have lots of electrical problems.

I have been on the brakes for a couple of weeks. I have replaced the master cylinder twice, gone through two gallons of fluid trying to get the brakes bled and the pedal is still going to the floor. I replaced all 4 calipers and the hoses on the front, still going to the floor. I have full pedal when the motor is off but goes to the floor when started with minimal braking force. What the heck?

I have a 2016 Nissan Titan XD SL turbo diesel bought in Nov 2016 and about a month and a half after buying it the fort parking sensors started going off at random when driving under 5mph. I have taken this truck to Nissan 4 times now to fix the issue and every time the minute I leave the dealership it goes off again. Today 5/5/2017 I get the truck back and it's still doing the same thing. So I take it back and they leave a ticket open so they can try to resolve this issue. I'm not going to hold my breath. So I decide I might try to trade it in. Well that's not happening due to the fact I purchased the truck for $62,000 and it only worth $35,000 after 6 months and 10,000 miles on this truck it dropped almost 50% in value so I am extremely upset. So I didn't have a huge truck payment. I put roughly $20,000 dollars down just to have it thrown away.
I use this truck for my business work truck and I drive a lot. And for this to happen and Nissan to not know how to fix it is sub-standard service. I kinda figured that my 2016 Nissan Titan will continue to have issues for one reason and that is the 2016 only comes with a 36,000 thousand mile 3 year factory warranty and the 2017 Nissan titans have a 5 year 100,000 mile factory warranty. I hope that Nissan will value their customers and make things right.

I have a 06 Nissan Titan. Replaced the rear end in it factory not even two years after I had it replaced by a dealer. The rear axle seal blows out, axle snaps in half, axle goes up in flames and now because it was out of warranty Nissan will not do anything about it. I spent 8,000 on a brand new rear end because they did not make the stuff to rebuild the inner parts. You have to spent 8,000 to get a new one. So watch out when you get any new or used Nissan. They may not make the parts to fix your problem or will not help you a day after your warranty is up. I don't mind spending the money to get it fixed but if you don't have the parts that you have to use to make the truck from factory when you build it. "Nope buy a new unit. We don't make those parts." Yes 8000 one a truck is not worth it once but I did it. Then I now have to replace it again none factory and spend another 5000 because Nissan does not care about their customers.

I bought a Titan 2017 three months ago. I live in Cheyenne. When it has been cold/icy and using the defroster, my windshield cracked all across the bottom. The dealership replaced it. This morning, it was icy, I turned on the defroster and heater to warm up the truck in my driveway. When I came out, the windshield was cracked all the way across the bottom in the same place as the last time. That's 2 windshields in three months in the same place using the defroster. This is obviously a problem design. I'm not happy.

The engine is skipping at 2200 miles. I took it to the service department. Say they fixed a recall that fixed the problem. Problem still exist. I can hear it and feel it while I'm driving. Don't know why they cannot find problem.

On Feb. 24, 2017 we purchased a new 2017 Nissan Titan SV from the Billings, MT. dealership. Thought to be a tough reliable truck. Within one week we started having problems with the parking sensors and sonar on the truck. Took it back to the dealership. Left it for a couple of days, service dept. stated it was repaired and warning lights reset. No more than left the dealership on the way home and up pops the parking sensors and sonar warning lights again. Called the dealership and spoke to the service dept. manager and he stated he would order the right front parking sensor which appeared to be the issue and it would be there in 2 or 3 days. Well, six days later it was there so again the truck was taken in for this sensor replacement.
Two days later my wife went to pick the truck up at the dealership and no more than got in to start the truck and the parking sensor and sonar warning light came on immediately, She went back in the dealership and they came out and looked and took the truck back in the shop again to try to find the problems. Then next day the service manager calls to tell me that they are ordering a sonar module overnight delivery that SHOULD resolve the issue. AGAIN, NOT SURE AT ALL. Just guessing it will solve the problem as their tech as Nissan headquarters said to try this. In the meantime, we been in contact with the Nissan consumer affairs dept. to try to get this resolved.
Again this a long delay of time. We even contacted the sales managers at the dealership to have us just put into another vehicle of the sam., NOW we're told that ALL they can do is a trade in COSTING US SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS LOSS than what we paid for this truck. What a crock of bull. This is in trying to make us take a BIG, BIG loss for a NEW truck that has less than a thousand miles. This is a manufacture defect that no one for sure seems to know the cause of these problems. All the service manager and sales manager can tell me is: "This is a new vehicle with this new technology on the Titan that just came out, it is man made so nothing is perfect."
So now again we are being told that the sonar module will be in tomorrow and installed to see if this resolves the problem. The word IF it will resolve the problems. This was suppose to be a work truck, they gave my wife a car to drive, left me without a work truck and cost us to have to rent a truck for work purposes or miss work all because this dealership or Nissan headquarters did NOT want to work with us to resolve this matter without a week or two delay or trying to take advantage of two very hard working people who work hard for our money by wanting us to take a several thousand dollar loss as a trade in and putting us in another truck. WRONG! We will NOT fall for this type of crookedness.
So now we will just wait and pick this truck back up and park it in the drive and file the lemon laws and let the courts deal with this matter, as we are not about to put any more miles on this vehicle to depreciate the value. And for sure we can NOT chance these problem warnings occurring again when they do not know for positive the cause only guessing and punting at causes. BEWARE of this type of vehicle and who and where you look at Nissan trucks.
Updated on 03/10/2017: We finally got this truck back from the dealership after very numerous attempts to repair the Parking Sensor problems. They replaced the sensor, sonar module, wiring harness, seems to be working now (for how long, who knows). Then while in the shop at Billings Nissan one of the shop employees scratched the left front bumper panel with a red tool box, The color on the truck was the same red as tool boxes. Back to get painted, Another negative value added to this truck. So now with all these documented repair attempt on this 2017 Nissan titan the value of this truck is less than AUCTION VALUE as a trade in... ALL NISSAN USA will do to try to compensate us for all this is OFFER us a LOUSY $250.00 visa card to use at Nissan for parts, repairs, ETC.
To top this whole matter off as a cover up NOT to be able to classify this truck as a LEMON, we received our first customer INVOICE and signed for it after the first repair attempt. After the many other repair attempts they took and RE-ISSUED us another INVOICE with the same invoice # as the first one we received, But, on the second one they added all the other parts and labor to make it ALL appear as ONLY ONE repair order. WHAT A BUNCH OF BULL and a cover up on this lemon. Upon talking to the dealership service advisor about this, He stated: "WHEN I KNOW A VEHICLE IS COMING BACK I KEEP THE WORK ORDER, INVOICE OPEN." What kind of bull is this. Apparently he knew every time the truck would be back for the same issues, problems, Yet to us we signed the first invoice as closed, then he issues us another one with the same invoice # making it all look as one repair. CROOKED, CROOKED, CROOKED.
Nissan USA Consumer affairs specialist called us liars about this during a phone conversation when we have all the documents to prove this matter. SO we are stuck with a truck now that we classify as a lemon, and lost so much Value in this truck due to all the repair issues that we attempted to trade it, But had to decline on a trade due to all the LOSS we would have a took.

Hard shifting, brand new vehicle 5.0 Cummins diesel. After 2 days owned the 4x4 lights came on. Abs light came on and the anti slip. The transmission is shifting hard. When shift. And downshift. I brought it to the dealer who find nothing and just reset the code. Which is unacceptable. I don't know what to do after invested $70,000.00. The service advisor told me you can drive every new truck on the lot. They all shift like that? Any solution?

The only issues with my 09 so far was a bad radiator, and the fuel sender recall. It only has 65K on it now but running strong with regular maintenance. It's gotten tires and brakes and shocks but that's all normal wear and tear. The radiator was tough to replace. It helps to take the fan blade off but it's still brutal, but remember to change the cap on the overflow tank or you will still be running overpressure. My Titan still looks great and runs like new and I can't afford a new one with the crazy prices. Anything happens to this one I will just buy another used one. These trucks were well designed.

I bought this truck brand new spring 2016. At about 2500 miles the power steering went out and almost caused us to go off a cliff. They fixed it and now it turns hard sometimes. The auto transmission gets stuck in high gear sometimes. I have to manually shift it down to get it to move. The worst problem is the exhaust. It comes into the cab when the heater is on fresh air and sometimes when it is on recirculate. This can and has caused headaches this happens at idle and slow speeds. Do not buy this truck if you can't handle the smell of diesel. You will breathe it on a regular basis. I'm not happy with truck and wish I had my Toyota Tacoma back.

Recently purchased a 2016 Platinum Reserve XD Cummins. Replaced a Toyota 4Runner and a GMC Duramax 3500. I like a lot of things about the truck, however I have been inundated with persistent problems. Initially, the truck pulled hard to the right, dealer finally corrected the problem at about 25000 km with a wheel alignment (owner paid). Next, the summer tires on the truck were dangerous and totally inadequate so new tires were needed. Unable to access a grip tire for the 20 inch rims until October 2016. New tires purchased, problem solved for $1900.00. Next, the Aisin transmission began slipping on takeoff and the dealer attempted to correct the problem with a recall reflash of the transmission. The transmission no longer slips but now has erratic shift points as well as hard down shifts.
Originally, the truck had great power and towed my trailer with ease. At 35,000 km, it is anemic and has poor throttle response. Turbo lag is evident and the mileage is very poor. Yes, the air filter and fuel filters have been replaced. Also for the last 20,000 km the truck has a very noticeable vibrations/growl as you slow down to a stop. The tech at the dealer has been unable to locate and does not attach much importance to this issue. I guess part of that being that he didn't write a $70,000.00 cheque for the truck. Extremely aggravating. Have changed tires out and yes the problem persists. Possible that the software issue with the Aisin might be the source of problems. Very frustrating experience and failing a resolve I think that someone else will own this truck. I have 50 year experience with trucks/diesels and millions of miles towing trailers. This truck has been problematic and there is no resolve in sight.

I brought this truck brand new 52 miles on the clock. Well about 600 miles in the clock and you take the engine between 1700 and 1800 miles, and its miles out. So after a 35-day stay at the dealership no problem found, but they called in a Nissan rep and Cummins engineer telling me that some of them do it and some don't. Well that was total **, because I had bought my wife 2016 Titan XD manufacture date Jan 2016 with 4000 miles on the clock with none of these issues. So Nissan customer care rep call telling me that there is nothing they can do, but tries to hide the fact that there is no problem, so one does it and one does not.
Sorry that's not how it works, either they all do it or they all don't. But I can obviously smell **. So I told Nissan if you don't make this right and address the issue I am going to file a class action lawsuit against them for fraud. But here is problem two, the day I pick the truck up for the dealer notice it was pulling extremely to the right. So took it to the dealer as it Sat there for another 3 weeks, Nissan dealership does not have the alignment specs for the vehicle. Well they had tried to align it but could not bring the front end into alignment per mechanic so at the point I am fuming.
So at this point I have made videos documenting everything has occurs and of course Nissan will never admit to having any issues unless forced to. The ironic thing is I have made a YouTube channel showing the issue and over 16 other owners have reach out to me with the same issue. Hey Nissan get your head out of your ** and either you stand behind your warranty or go back to your own country because your shot sucks, and many other titan owner are having issue you refuse to address and fix! Oh I forget, brand new truck, the emission in my state would not pass the truck because the engine is putting out too much emission for the state's limits, so it sits as a yard ornament!

This message is just to bring to light all the issues I have had with this truck. Many of these I feel should have been a recall or at least the dealer should have been willing to help offset the cost. I purchased a used 2004 Nissan Titan Crew Cab 2WD in September of 2007. After a tow at 87,000 miles it was determined a fuel relay went bad. Windshield wiper pump motor died, driver side window motor died, not under warranty. At 90,000 miles the manifolds were both cracked and had to be replaced, not under warranty. At 110,000 miles the radiator split open and had to be replaced, not under warranty. Recalls for seat belt and condenser fan were completed sometime in around the 100,000 mark.
At 140,000 miles a rear bearing disintegrated and because you just can't replace a bearing or seal I spent over $2300.00 to have axles and seals replaced including replacing the emergency brakes and speed sensor that got chewed up when the bearing blew. The air conditioning actuators for cold/hot and vent or defrost both click non stop and have to be replaced. Now at 170,000 miles I have no reverse and Nissan wants $5000.00 for a replacement or I can have it rebuilt by a trans shop for around $3400.00. I feel it is absurd to have to spend over $10,000 to have a truck fixed plus all the downtime with less than 200k miles on it. I'd say it may be a lemon but I know a few others with the same issues with the same model vehicle. I regret buying this vehicle and will not recommend a Titan to anyone else.

So I bought a 2004 Nissan Titan V8 in 2005 with 25,000 miles on it. The truck is my second truck after owning a 1985 Nissan Pickup with the original Z24 motor in it. God I loved that truck. It had 370,000 miles on it and it had only 1 engine replacement and minor repairs done on it. All in all that truck still runs strong, sold it to my gardener. So since 2005 I have been driving my Nissan Titan with the V8 and it drives really smooth and has always been serviced at home with my trusty mechanic. The Truck had an issue with the Fuse box switch paneling going bad after 50,000 miles and the truck would just stop running and the engine would stop in the middle of road and would have to pull over to get of the way.
I had my mechanic look at all issues and he found a recall for that box replacement. I bought the box for 170 bucks from the dealer and the Nissan Corporation reimbursed me that amount. I replaced it and had no other issues. 118000 miles later I ran into a problem with the Cracked manifold issues. I had the Mechanic check it and said both my manifolds were cracked on both sides. I was not able to smog the truck at this point. It's 2016 - 12 years since I bought the truck so I can't complain. I still love the truck. So I researched this problem and it looks as though Nissan has a very bad welding quality issue on the manifold welds.
Instead of having the original Manifolds replaced at a cost of 1800 dollars I spent my money on high end high Performance JBA Shorty headers for $400 bucks. I replaced the Manifolds and then I got a check engine light indicating that both Catalytic converters were giving an error code P0420 and I did some research on Catalytic converters replacement. This is where it gets tricky. If you live in California you will have to replace both cats which could get very pricey to do. Most places want to charge you 1200 dollars to do it. I found the cats at a very reasonable price online. Email me if you need the website. I am all about helping others resolve issues that Nissan will not resolve for you. Both Cats can be purchased for 80 bucks each with the California Compliant stamp on them.
I drove my truck to the local shop to pick up some parts and also to work thinking nothing of it. One of the Cats broke apart and was sucked up into the engine internal ports. This caused my engine to start blowing out huge amounts of white smoke and after driving it to the dealer to and having a diagnostic done they told me the engine was blown. I paid the diagnostic fee of 125.00 dollars and they said it would go towards the cost. The mechanics and Nissan understand that I was not a average car owner with little knowledge about engines. I wanted to have full compression test done and leak down. They checked it and the engine had sucked up Catalytic converter particulates. So Nissan at Tustin dealership gave me a estimated price tag of 9000 dollars for a new engine not including labor.
I ended up calling Nissan Consumer affairs and they provided me service Consumer rep and he told me there is nothing they can do since it's passed the warranty and I have very little record of going into Nissan's dealer shops for servicing. This is all really disappointing me. I believe Nissan is not taking care of their customers and it won't take long before their loyal base starts moving to Toyota's and Honda's. So the truck still runs horribly bad, burns oil like crazy and I have it in Storage. I found a new 50000 mile engine for 2500 bucks and will be doing the swap myself. I don't consider 2500 plus the cost of the replacement headers and cats moved further towards the back custom work done a lot of money considering I have had the truck for 11 years now. $3000 dollars over the span of 11 years is not a lot of money.
So Nissan I still believe you can make good products but you need to own up to your manufacturing issues and your customers complaints to be great like Toyota and Honda. I am willing to fix all of your faulty issues from the manufacture. The truck is very good truck with a lot of power potential but don't let the customers do your fixing. You're going to lose all the consumer credibility you have left and lose your place in the valley of the greats like Toyota and Honda. It doesn't take much with Youtube and all the other media channels - we can bring you down and we will if we need you to correct your behavior.

So, I have been pretty good with Nissan. I bought my 2009 Altima Hybrid and was amazed how well it has held up. However, my first Nissan Titan was a 2004. When I bought it from a dealer, I now know I was charged way too much, but I assumed that the quality would be there like it had been from my previous vehicles. I will tell you this. I thought Dodge's, Ford's and GM's were bad... I traded that in (at a loss) for a brand new 2013 Nissan Titan, with tow package. I have had it in the dealership for a variety of issues. Issues that claim to fix, that would happen not even a couple days later again.
Now I can't tow because the fuses keep getting blown. I've check and rechecked and still having issues. One of the rear seat belts stopped working for no reason, and the others tighten and don't loosen after stops so you end up having to take it off and then put it back on. Brand new truck that I am in the hole on and it is a horrible feeling. One of the other problems (I think a lot of people may have had) were the doors. You can't open them from certain positions because the inside cables come loose or are too long and pop out of the little ball holder the ends are in. It's really frustrating.

I own a 2005 Nissan Titan and have only put 89,000 miles on it. Have owned this truck since 2010. Have done all the necessary maintenance. Just took it in for an oil change a week ago to find out that my rear end differential is bad and needs replacing. I have owned a couple of trucks and never had to replace the rear end differential. I have to pay out of pocket 4500$ to have it fixed. Not happy at all with this. Hope that Nissan will do something about this issue. Have read several comments where people have had the same issue with the Nissan Titan trucks. Apparently, this is a manufacturing malfunction and Nissan needs to do something about it!!

Let me start by saying I'm a maintenance nut, so everything I own gets regular attention. My 2007 Titan King Cab was purchased in December 2006 and I currently have 165K miles on it. I never had any problems with the Titan until I hit 93,000 miles and the rear wheel seals started to leak and the bearings were shot. This really upset me because I have never had a vehicle that needed rear wheel bearings, seals yes. I really like my Nissan dealer but Nissan would not warrant the bearings, but they did approve the installation of an upgraded set of wheel bearings, axles and seals at my expense. They only charged me for the parts not the labor. Did say I like my dealer?
Has anyone else heard of this issue? I would sure like know. As far as the engine and drivetrain are concerned, at 104K miles I changed all the hoses and I do mean all of them. I'm not a fan of the tranny flushes so I drop my pan and clean the screen every 30K miles, then install a new gasket and fresh fluid. Did the same for the rear end. I also installed new shocks and the spring isolator cups and bushings at 104K miles. I recommend this to keep the suspension from metal to metal contact with body. As long as this engine keeps running strong I'm keeping the truck.

2008 Nissan Titan XE - I bought the truck in Oct 10, 2015. It's now May 8th 2016 and it's been in the shop more times than I owned it. It's been living at Nissan. Mind you it only has 83.000 miles on it. They put new intake manifold, new transmission, new pump for window sprayers, new motors for the windows, new drive shaft and u joints, new motor mounts, etc., too much to list, power locks forgets what key fob it has, new spare tire assembly. Yeah the spare tire just fell off in the middle of the road. Went to Titan for mirrors parts and said they didn't have any for this truck like really.
I paid 15900 for the truck. They already put 18000 into it and it's still falling apart. I try to buy stuff for the truck. No one carries it if you go to the dealerships. Look for the truck. They are none existing. You go to any other dealer. Their tricks are on the lots but when you go to theirs, no Titans. I wonder why. The truck is a piece and yes I know from experience I'm going through it now.

I have seen other reviews on here about the Nissan Titan. I bought my 2005 Titan new in 2005. I have been driving it every day since then. I haven't seen another one with as many miles as mine, with ZERO engine and ZERO transmission problems. My truck has had the following repairs done to the engine: spark plugs at 100,000, spark plugs at 210,000, and spark plugs at 320,000. It still has the factory original water pump, starter, alternator, thermostat, radiator, etc. etc. I've never replaced a sensor, fuel lines, power steering lines... NOTHING! It currently has just over 365,000 miles and runs like the day I bought it. I was considering a new Titan diesel, but not until this one gives out. I can't say enough good about this truck. My Silverado needed a new transmission at 60k miles, new drive shafts, etc. My Titan has needed brakes and a new set of rear axle seals.

I have been reading the reviews on the Nissan Titan. I bought mine brand new in 2005. Within a year the front end went and needed to be replaced. Fortunately this was covered by the warranty. At about 80,000 miles the gas line from the gas tank was leaking I needed to be replaced. It's a short little hose. They would not sell me the part without the gas tank because they don't do that. It was ridiculous and it cost me a fortune. I contacted Nissan to complain and they basically said, "Tough luck. That's the way we do it." Now I have a grinding noise on my front left breaks. I replaced the brake pads and a caliper, and the noise is still there. I like the way the truck drives, but I would never buy another Nissan. If I'm going to buy Japanese, I'm thinking I should try Toyota.

I bought a 2016 Nissan Titan XD diesel since I wanted a new diesel truck. I have owned a few diesel trucks, but this is my first Nissan. Now, the truck has 1259 miles on it. At 1000 miles, I brought my truck to the dealer because I was getting 10 miles to the gallon on the highway and I was not towing anything. They checked the truck and said the turbo was not working right. They recalibrate it and gave it back. Now at 1259 miles, I was driving on the highway and the transmission is again downshifting instead of coasting so I am getting around 10 miles to the gallon. During the drive to work in the city, I was getting 14 miles to the gallon. Something is not right here. Wonder if I can give the truck back.

I have had my 2012 Nissan Titan for 3 and 1/2 years. Last week I noticed the tool box on the side of the bed is rotting and rusting out on the inside. I take it to the dealer and they say it's out of warranty after 3 years and to call 1-800-nissan1. They call me back saying there's not a hole through it and they will not help me in any way. No vehicle should rot out in 3 years. Nissan should be ashamed of themselves. I loved my Nissan until now knowing that they are ok having a rotting vehicle 3 years old and not have 1 ounce of pride or care in their product or customer service. This is my 3rd brand new Nissan and now my last.

I went to my local Nissan dealer for an oil change. While there I asked them to check for an exhaust leak because I could hear one. I was told there was nothing wrong by the service advisor and he did not even put it in writing or in the computer so I have no proof to go with. Several months later I went back for another oil change. When they brought my truck out I was advised that both exhaust manifolds were cracked and need to be replaced. I was also told that the warranty had expired about 2 months ago. I was told by the dealer that the cost will be $3,600. I called Nissan's consumer affairs and they offered a $1,000 credit to help pay but I also had to do the repairs in a specific amount of time and at the same dealership where they lied to me. I asked if I could go to a different dealer and they said not if I want the discount.
Every time I went to the dealer for any kind of warranty issue whether big or small they always said the trouble was because I did something wrong. The truck has been kinda babied since I bought it new in 2005. It only has 70,000 miles and 2 years after the exhaust problem I am changing the manifolds for the 3rd time. I will no longer buy a Nissan and tell all whom I know to never buy Nissan. Thank you.

I'd like to start this by saying I have owned three Nissan vehicles in the last few years. A 350z, my personal 2011 Titan and my family vehicle which is the 2014 Armada. I bought the Titan because I had sold the Z and that was a fantastic car. I thought the quality of that car was outstanding and the fit and finish where superb. The Titan has been a good truck; it has been mechanically sound despite a major paint issue. The roof has a paint issue and its cracking/flaking off along the molding on both sides and the rear bumper is rusting.
My local dealer has reported the issue to you more than once and I was told there is nothing you are willing to do about it and my local body shop informed me that today's paints and the primer process companies use just aren't as good as older products and methods. I have had to go out of pocket with significant expense and have these repairs made to prevent problem is most likely environmental. I do not agree and have proof otherwise.
I have owned many makes and model of car and truck. I have never had an environmental or otherwise paint issue with any of them. I am not impressed with the finish of the truck or the way this issue was handled, at all. To my knowledge no one from Nissan came to see the truck and instead looked at some emailed pictures that my local dealer took. Because you don't see this issue on a large scale does not mean it's not an issue. The truck may not have been prepped for paint correctly, the mixture of paint may have been off, simply sprayed too thinly or not enough clear coat applied to protect the base. Regardless, my forty thousand dollar truck has cracking paint and rust. Future damage to my vehicle. I am not happy that I had to do so.
I would like Nissan to consider looking into this issue a bit further as I have seen numerous other vehicles with this paint issue. I belong to and post on Titantalk.com and at least a dozen other Titan owners have seen this as well, which is proof that this is not an isolated case. We are all disappointed in Nissan to say the least. The way a customer is treated in regards to these service issues really influences their decisions down the road. When the time comes to replace the truck I may look at Toyota or Ford/Chevy/GMC. Please have a local / area service supervisor contact me via phone call or email.

I love this truck. This truck has ran like a dream for me and I take it camping and off-roading every year in Colorado. This truck actually saved my life last month when a tree fell on it up in Yellowstone. I was driving slowly through some thick woods on a dirt road way out in the middle of nowhere. It was extremely windy. The wind blew the tree out of the ground, roots and all. It was a big tree. The tree hit on the back part of my cab which is a very strong part of the truck. The windows blew out and the door was bent and there is a big dent in the passenger area of the cab and my camper shell was crushed. The truck was totaled by the insurance company, but I am keeping the truck because it still drives like a dream and everything still works. It just isn't as pretty as it once was. This truck took beating and is still going strong.

My truck's rear differential is out, almost lost steering control on freeway. I see there have numerous complaints about this. The truck also overheats. The radiator has been replaced twice to correct this problem to no avail. This must be a factory defect. All maintenance have been kept up.

Had a 2010 Titan and had no complaints, traded for a 2012 Titan and at 24k AC quit blowing cold air. Had it to dealership, they fixed leak at no cost. 28k brakes shot (all four) rotors and pads (Highway Driving same as the 10). Mechanic at dealership told me it's bad design and poor quality steel. NO KIDDING? $900 out of my pocket, didn't let them replace with Nissan Parts, used aftermarket. No brake dust now. 31k exhaust bracket behind muffler rusted off, out of warranty BS. Took it to an Independent Muffler/Brake Shop, they repaired by cutting back to good metal of tailpipe and welded in a section of stainless steel $53. They said they're seeing it all of the time now. They repaired another 012 before mine. Last Nissan for us.

I bought a brand new 2014 Nissan Titan at one of the local dealerships here in South TX. After 1st oil change I notice the engine making a ticking sound like if it was a lifter or something. I took it to dealer and they pretty much told me it was normal. And also noticed when I come to a stoplight the rear of the truck feels like it pops and I have notice when I go and take off it squats down a lot and I hear that popping sound and also feel it and they looked at it and said it was normal. And also brought it to their attention that the tailpipe looks little darker than normal. They said that was normal cause I had a cold air intake installed. Anyone else have same or similar issues? The truck only has 22,000 miles.

I bought my 2004 Titan, brand new in late 2003. It still runs and looks great at over 220,000 miles. There have been some minor repairs and the standard maintenance. But overall, I am very happy with my truck. I pulled a 9,000 lb travel trailer and a 24 foot boat with no problems for years until I sold all my toys!

We purchased a 2007 Titan brand new and within 50000 Miles the exhaust literally fell off at the muffler. Out of warranty but thought it was a fluke. Loved the truck so we bought another new one in 2012 and traded ours in. Now 33000 Miles and 4 months out of warranty. The muffler on our 2012 Titan fell off at the same exact spot. I called Nissan corporate where they said there was nothing they could do for us. Was not the answer we were looking for as the dealership we took it to for diagnosis told us they see this ALL the time.
Come on Nissan I am looking forward to purchasing the new Cummins powered Titan XD but if they start falling apart at 33000 miles, I might wait for the Cummins powered Toyota Tundra. P.S. our 2007 at 50000 miles needed a new rear end. A new exhaust manifold (was covered under 80k emission warranty) and a new exhaust system. Nissan, please feel free to contact me and if you decide to fix YOUR problem I may change my mind and edit my review. Don't see it happening though as I already contacted corporate.

The paint is coming off my 2012 Nissan Titan Chrome edition. I called Chris ** in Daphne, Alabama where I bought this truck and was told that they could do nothing about it since the truck had 60,000 miles on it. So I then called customer affairs and was told by them to go to the dealership for an estimated price to repair it. I went to the dealership and was told by the service manager that it was a serious issue and Nissan should take care of it being that all the paint was almost gone on the top of the truck and a lot was gone off the hood. So then I called Nissan customer affairs back and discussed what the service manager at the dealership had said and that he was expecting a call from them to discuss the matter. They then told that they were not responsible for the truck because it had more than 36,000 miles on it. So they did not care what the service manager had to say and had cost me time off from work to go to the dealership for no reason.
I paid around 40,000 for this truck and own two others. We own a business that buy new trucks every 4 or so years and after we get rid of the three Titans we have we will never purchase another Nissan product. I have recommended these trucks to other contractors and friends and I am fixing to send out emails to everyone I know to tell them not to buy Nissan automobiles. If you saw how my truck looks with paint peeling off of it everywhere I am sure you would agree that you do not want a Nissan.

Nissan has come back to me and offered to replace all the parts for my seat, and I only pay the labor. I am thankful for a very satisfactorily outcome, but I did have to go up the food chain as I had to go over the regional specialists head, who stonewalled me with the out of warranty deal. He was belligerent and did not want to listen to the fact the passenger's seat conservatively only had about 100 hours. This truck has 21000 highway miles. It looks like it has just come off the showroom floor.

I have a 2010 Nissan Titan, it only has 21000 miles on it. This truck is used only when a horse needs to be rescued, for our non profit horse rescue. We were coming back from a horse rescue in Kansas to Michigan. It was my turn to take a break from driving, got into passenger seat, went to recline, seat broke. Nissan's remedy - it's out of warranty screw you. The passenger seat has had at most 75 hours of someone sitting in it, I am appalled and beyond frustrated. I have left message today with every director I can find at their (615) area code. My next step is to call their cell phones, I have their numbers. I am beyond appalled and frustrated right now. I have owned 7 Nissans to date, this is now certainly the LAST!

I have a 2007 Titan with 115,000 on it and the only money I have put into it is for gas. I have had an excellent time with this truck. I use synthetic oil and 91 octane gas. I change the brake pads yearly ($ 40.00) and that has been it. I bought it with 10,000 miles so I know where this truck has been. I live in Colorado and it has been great off road and in the snow. Love my Titan! Honestly, this has been the best vehicle I have ever owned!

I have an 2007 Nissan with 87,000 miles on it. Last week I somehow noticed the truck starting to smoke while at a stoplight. When the light changed the truck would barely accelerate. I pulled off the road immediately and shut it off. After a quick look at the undercarriage I couldn't help but notice that everything was covered with tranny fluid. The smoke was from the fluid burning on the HOT exhaust pipes. The transmission cooling hose had burst yet the dashboard did not show any indication.
Obviously luck was on my side and after replacing the hose and about 5 quarts of fluid I was back on the road. I have had to put new catalytic converters on once at just over $400. Another issue Nissan will do nothing about is my trucks rear end. I have had to replace the seals twice and at the moment the bearings are apparently giving out. I don't have the $3000 the dealership wants for a new rear end. I am worried and nervous every time I drive my truck for fear of the next major issue. And I not even over 100k yet! Never again will I buy a Nissan product.

Have had Nissan for close to 30 yrs. This 2006 Titan has had rear seals and axle problems at 80 k. Also have had to replace exhaust manifolds because of cracks. Seems to be a lot of Titans with same problems. Seems to me they must be aware of problems. Was told at dealer that if I had brought to them before 80k they would have taken care of me. Had 81k. Not happy and doubt if I will ever buy another Nissan again.

I'm a college student at Arkansas State University who bought a 2005 Titan in 2010. Since I've had my truck, I've had to replace the rear differential 3 months after buying it. I've also had to replace the catalytic converter, fan clutch, and a few other parts. Now I'm finding out that my front end is out too and my air conditioner is going out due to a failure of both actuators that make a loud ticking sound when the air is turned out.
I've put a total of 7200 in this truck and now I'm fixing to have to put another 4000 in it. This really ticks me off! What a piece of junk. I've done nothing but baby my truck since I've had it. I've got credit cards maxed out, wearing holey jeans trying to make it through college. I don't have 4200 to fix my truck. All of that money could have went toward my schooling or bought a new truck and had it paid for since I've practically bought this pos twice. I will NEVER buy another Nissan ever again! And I will make sure that my family and friends don't either. I want my damn money back!!!

I have a 2.5 year old black titan that I purchased new. I am a detail freak. Truck washed every Monday since it was new. 9 months ago my clear coat starting peeling off the hood of the truck. Nissan wouldn't cover it. Now it is peeling off the hood of the cab and they again won't cover it. 13 Nissans over 20 years for my wife and I and I am trading mine in ASAP for a Ford. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY OR RECOMMEND A NISSAN. Carlos Ghosn has done a great disservice to this company. My service manager is stunned at their decision. I'm just disappointed...

2011 Nissan Titan - At 35000 miles the truck has developed a serious vibration/shaking problem between 42-48 mph. Now at 43000 miles Nissan has replaced failed front differential, failed transfer case and failed rear differential. Drive shaft was also replaced but old one was reinstalled since it had no effect on vibration/shaking along with new tires. After brief search on Internet there seems to be numerous complaints with exactly same speed range. Nissan regional rep. test drove the vehicle and had nerve to claim that this is normal BODY FLEXING, Hah! If a manufacturer considers this type of shaking normal they need to be taken to court since they are not standing behind their products, this is clearly a serious defect.
I have posted this same info on Nissan Facebook page. If you have experienced this same problem contact me, I am in process collecting names and vin numbers for class action suit against Nissan. I can not recommend this truck to anybody due to all the mechanical failures on drive train and now issue with shaking. Funny that Nissan advertises their new diesel with new improved front and rear differential, improved transfer case and leaf spring pushings. Same parts (except leaf spring pushings) that failed on my vehicle at 35k, and there is no problem?

2005 Nissan Titan SE, 49000 miles. Discovered oil leak rear left tire, had it fixed; rear axle started making noise. Took to shop, was told broken pin in rear. Contacted Nissan, was told I had to take it to Nissan dealer to check problem. Doing research, found out that it is a known Nissan defect that Nissan in not honoring. Nissan dealer quoted me $5600 dollars to repair. Loved the truck until now, did not care for the brakes had to replace brakes twice because the weight of the truck. Reading the horror of people going through with their Titans. Told them I wasn't going to pay 5600 for a defect. Did not pay 33000 for a truck that is badly designed. Will never purchase another Nissan.

I have a 2010 Crew Titan garage kept with 39000 miles, that started this year. I am in Nashville, TN. And we had an extremely cold winter this time. From what I have observed is the white patches went away once the warm weather came back. It appeared to be water trapped between the base red color and the clear coat. Water froze, frost turns white. Frost melts water becomes clear but still trapped behind the clear coat. It will eventually dry out, but leave small popped bubbles in the clear coat. Three body shops have written estimates, all around $5500.00. Nissan deal priced it at $4500.00. After a quick shuffle with Nissan's local rep, she came back with what they call a "GOOD FAITH " offer of paying 25% of the cost of repairs. Titan owners definitely need to ban together and file a class action on Nissan.

I can only speak for myself, but I bought my 2008 Nissan Titan from Weseloh in San Juan Capistrano, CA with 22K miles on it. It now has 86,000 miles and am now just replacing the Hankook Tires--just now replacing front rotors and shocks. I have had zero engine, tranny issues whatsoever. The interior has held up despite my rough use and it has great power with no let up. My AC stopped blowing cold air at 80,000 miles but servicing it fixed it--i just kept up my regular maintenance on the truck and couldn't be happier. My Ford Thunderbird blew the engine at 63K but my Mercury Marauder was flawless up to 140K---each car is different under the conditions they are driven and for whatever unfortunate reason, some just break down more than others--like athletes.

Purchased my 2007 Nissan Titan March 2007, have had problems from day two. Concerns with what the dealer called corrosion, but looked a lot like rust on the frame. A month later I noticed a squeaking noise coming from the brake pads off and on. Then two years later 2009 there was an issue with the passenger side seat belt light. Dealer said they weren't sure why it wasn't working properly but wouldn't be replacing anything because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. 2012 the truck just didn't start, had it towed to the dealership only to find out the entire computer needed to be replaced.
As of today, I went to reverse my truck out of a stall and the shifter light stalled in Neutral. I have absolutely no idea what's wrong with it, and since it's been 8 years since I purchased the truck and I just hit the 100,000 mile mark. I guess I get to come out of pocket for repairs. This isn't a truck I would recommend anyone purchase. So many problems for a truck I paid $28,000.00 in full for. :(

Wiring harness has been recalled by Nissan for several years. I've worked with the dealer who was very fair and they referred me to Nissan to express frustration that they do not have inventory to replace a recalled wiring harness that has likely disabled my airbag system. So I gave up. I don't know where to turn. I guess they have harnesses for their new vehicles. I won't likely ever buy a Nissan product unless they learn how to resolve issues.

I purchased this truck used 3 years ago through eBay. What I have to say concerns only the truck, as I'm not involved with the dealers' service, mainly because I'm out of warranty and dislike dealer's in general since I view their mechanical repairs as expensive and their attitude towards their own self interest; I've come across hundreds of reviews were a vehicle (not just Nissan but any brand), gets taken to the stealership due to a complaint, only to be told nothing's wrong (because they are a few thousand miles away from warranty expiration).
Purchased truck with 100K miles on it, currently 120K miles. Had it towed from Texas to Florida. Beautiful truck, crew cab, very spacious and comfortable. Not my main means of transportation, just for weekend use. Involved in a fender bender a few weeks ago, radiator got damaged and had to be replaced. Doing some general research on the matter came across some instances on the net (mainly X-terras and Pathfinders, couple of Titans) were transmission and engine coolant would mix and destroy transmission. So I'm glad I have a new radiator (not Nissan, which would only guarantee for a year. I have an aftermarket radiator with a 3 year warranty).
Transmission is fine, currently doing a tranny kit maintenance. Rear differential fine, no leaks, new differential oil and vent cleanup performed as rear differential leak seems to be the most prevalent complaint on the net. Buying any vehicle involves a bit of luck. The fact that it is brand new doesn't mean much if it came defective from the assembly line. I love my truck.

I bought a new Nissan Titan truck. It now has 99,500 miles. I was very pleased with this truck but now I would never buy a Nissan vehicle as long as I live. Long story short already put new rotors and 2 sets of brake pads on and at 80,000 miles fuel pump went out and now the radiator cracked, replaced a new one and it lasted 7 days ago now. I gotta put another one on.
I think Nissan has severe problems with their vehicles I have been reading reviews on them last night and it didn't look good. I have owned a lot of vehicles in my life and never had this much problems. I know vehicles are going to wear out but come on as much as I have read on these vehicles I think they are junk in my opinion. Too many people are having problems with their vehicles and Nissan won't stand up to their warranty.
What I am trying to say read your reviews based on these vehicles. I'm very angry about this radiator, cause it's costing me not Nissan especially when you work hard for your money. And the rotors on these trucks are too small but plenty of power under the hood. Sorry got to go and change another radiator out. Thanks for reading, good luck in the future if you purchase a Nissan.

I have a 2010 Titan with 80,000 miles and most of those miles pulling a 27 foot camper trailer. I use Mobile 1 and have changed out trans fluid at 60,000 miles. It has been extremely reliable to the point my wife preferred it over her new Highlander and threatened confiscating it. The Titan is not up for trade so we traded the Highlander in for an 2014 Armada. The wife is in love with her Armada and I still have my Titan. Another family member has a Titan with over 200,000 miles and plans to drive it until the wheel fall off. The 5.6 engine has a lot of power and climbs pulling my trailer in mountains very well utilizing manual gear shifting. If asked, I would recommend the Titan truck, but choose your dealer carefully.

I have a 2008 Titan that I purchased with 37,000 miles on it. In 4 years I have put an additional 26k on it. It currently has 63k on it. I started it to go to work one morning and heard a terrible knocking sound coming from the front end so I immediately shut it off. The check engine light never came on and when I plugged into the computer it never threw a code so I knew it had to be mechanical. I called Nissan and they said I had to take it to a dealership to have it diagnosed before they could help. Upon doing that, I then called Nissan customer affairs and filed a case. They contacted the dealership and the diagnosis turned out to be an upper rod bearing.
What bearing exactly they don't know because the $110 diagnosis consists of a so called "service tech" listening to the knock and not actually taking anything apart and diagnosing the actual issue. They told me at that point that I would need a new engine and to make a long story short Nissan would not offer any replacement assistance even though the truck was barely over the warranty miles. This was surely not a result of bad maintenance because my truck is serviced regularly and never driven hard. It is as close to mint condition as a 6 year old truck can be and babied extensively. It is sick to think that vehicles that cost this much and are likely one of most people's biggest assets aren't even backed by the manufacturer.
Like so many of the other reviews here, I will reiterate that these trucks are garbage and Nissan is not willing to stand behind their product and protect the customers that make help them thrive. No vehicle should ever have an issue of any kind with the motor at 63k and to need a replacement is disgusting. Ford, Chevy, and Dodge are clearly the leaders for full sized trucks for a reason. Don't be fooled into thinking Nissan Titans are a bargain and warranty is just another word to the people at Nissan and the word "helpful" might as well be a foreign language to them. Absolutely the only and last Nissan I will ever own!

Went elk hunting, was pulling a pop up tent trailer up a fairly steep dirt road and the 4 wheel drive broke, we thought we had rock rolling underneath but it was the gears making a lot of bad noises. We bought this truck in 2008 so it is over 5 years old but it only has 40k miles on it, talked to Nissan corporate about covering this under warranty but they refused because it was over the 5 year limit and could care less that it only had 40k miles on it. We've only used this truck to go camping and hunting using the 4 wheel drive sparingly, never using it unless necessary. Bottom line: if you want a truck that looks good going to 7-11, buy a Nissan. If you want one that will get you in and out of 4 wheel drive situations stay away from Nissan.

I bought a 2008 nissan titan crew cab pickup from duval mazda (they were great). I have always heard how good titans are. I have had mine about a year. About 3 weeks ago, I was driving my truck when all of a sudden the overhead console came crashing down and broke. I called nissan and went to a local nissan dealer to have them look at it and they gave me a price of almost 400.00. I called consumer affairs again with the info. They notified me that there was nothing they could do to help me. I realize the truck is 6 years old, however I would hope that the interior components would last longer. I am very dissatisfied with the workmanship and quality of the nissan. I found out from the nissan service adviser that this is common with the armada and the titans..
I will never buy another nissan vehicle, nor would I recommend them to anyone. I have friends and coworkers ask me about my titan. I tell them I like the truck as far as engine and size, but then I show them where the console used to be and how nissan expects me to pay for their lousy workmanship and substandard products. I tell them do not buy a nissan. Some people say I should consult a lawyer, which I am seriously considering. I should have bought another ford, but I thought nissan was better. Wow was I wrong.
I know I am probably wasting my time with this letter, but I want everything documented. Your willingness to help a customer is non-existent. I guess you are like most companies, once they buy your product, you could care less. I am doing my best to let people know, so hopefully they will not learn the hard way about nissan like I DID. It is not even about the money, it is the idea that you will not stand behind your products and their quality.

I purchase my 08 titan used with 73 000 mi on it. I owned for a 1 1/2 years off beating drag and pedal to the metal, and no complaint yet to be file, so stop crying like babies and enjoy what you got. Ps stop going back to the dealers, find all you need after market or online, less money and same quality. And if you need advice let me know and will help you.

I have a Nissan 2012 Titan pickup with 16,500 miles on it. The transmission line blew off near the transmission. I was in an area with no phone service and no way of contacting anyone. I put line back on, drove the truck to the house, contacted the dealership where I bought the truck. Told them what happen and they told me that the truck would be tow and I would probably have to pay a portion of the tow. After a week of setting in their yard they informed me that the transmission would have to be replaced because I burnt the transmission up by driving it. No light came on and there was still fluid showing on the stick. They informed me the warranty would not repair the truck and it was going to cost me $4600.00 to repair and I would have to pay the amount.
The service manager was rude about it and as well tried to tell me the hose got knocked off by something. There’s no way anything knocked it off - if it had, there would have been a lot of damage to lines as well. I think it’s pretty sad that Nissan a major car company is ripping their customers off with this tactic. I really hope their upper management comes to their senses before I have to bring them to court. Not once did he fell to mention that the truck could have caught fire because of this hose coming off and fluid going all over hot exhaust. Any help on how to handle this would be appreciated. Where do I begin? I have owned my 2011 Titan for almost 3 years now. Shortly after purchase, I began to notice an intermittent clunk when I slowed down coming from underneath the truck. I have documented this with my Nissan dealership (Rt. 46 Nissan, Little Falls, NJ) on several occasions. I have taken countless mechanics and even the shop foreman out. For the most part, they hear it, but can't figure out what it is. I reached out to the service manager looking for help but I never got a call back. I then called the owner (let's face it, he's just car salesman too), and received a call back from his secretary who was no help.
To that end, I went out on 2 different occasions with a mechanic (with some juice) from corporate Nissan. He heard the clunk on the first go around and said it was the trans. I felt otherwise as it seemed to be working fine. They put a brand new trans in, which thankfully, was covered under warranty. I thought my problem was finally fixed. Guess again. After the brand new trans was put in, the same clunk is still there. I suggested the transfer case, the rear end, etc., but to no avail. I again called corporate Nissan and went out on another road test with the same corporate Nissan mechanic, who again couldn't diagnose the problem. He was nice enough to extend my drive train warranty so I am thankful for that but I really just wanted the problem corrected.
The dealership itself was horrendous. Everybody just kept passing the buck and it was very obvious no one really gave a ** about me or my problem. This was my 3rd and final Nissan. Unfortunately I bought it instead of leasing it. My bad. Never again. I would never recommend Route 46 Nissan in Little Falls, NJ or Nissan in general. They want to be your friend when you're buying the car but quickly forget all about you if you have a serious problem. They don't get the fact that for me (and most people I would have to imagine) it's the service department and how well they treat you and make you feel that would keep me coming back. Well, you just can't fix stupid. No more Nissans for me and I will put them down and talk bad about them for as long as I can because of this experience.

We purchased a brand new Nissan Titan truck from Grubbs Nissan in Bedford and also bought an extended warranty for $1,700. Thought we would be covered if anything should happen. The last time we took it in to get serviced, they told us the struts were leaking oil and it would be from $850 to $900 to get replaced!! We contacted Nissan Consumer Dept (which is a joke) to have Nissan step up to the line and cover some or all of this and they said "that is Not covered on your warranty." We feel Nissan should step up and cover this since this truck is not old and has been well cared for. The woman at Nissan Consumer Dept said I could contact the Corporate office but I would be wasting my time because they will just send it right back to her!! Shame on Nissan for NOT backing their product. We have purchased many Nissans in the past BUT never again!! I suggest to everyone DO NOT purchase a Nissan, they do NOT back their vehicles!!! They just sell warranties. They do not cover anything.

2004 Nissan Titan 4x4 King Cab SE - I bought my Titan from a buddy of mine 9 months ago. He had it in Alaska where he was stationed. The Titan is 10 years old and have had no BIG problems with it. I've been more than happy. I take it up to where my parents live in the mountains, go off roading all the time. It gets me where I need to go. The front seal is leaking and also the rear axle seals (fixed) but like I said, it's 10 years old. You just need to maintain it, get under the damn thing and look around, tighten things up if need be. Quit being lazy!!! Of course things will break if you don't do preventive maintenance.

I purchased my 2007 Nissan Titan when I was 17 years old. I am now 25. I have driven it 180,000 miles. Some of these reviews are because people have not maintain their vehicle properly. I have service my vehicle every 3000 miles, change all fluids at regular times. I have put a total of $600 in repairs into the vehicle besides regular maintenance and that was my rear axle seal went out and had to be replaced but was due to age of the vehicle. In my opinion, the Nissan Titan is the best truck on the road. It has awesome handling abilities and he can tow anything you throw at it. So if you're looking to buy Nissan Titan, I give it every bit of five stars. My next truck will be in Nissan Titan!

I bought 05 Titan 44 crew. Brand new. I too had brake problems - got it fixed. I love my truck, I also never abused it or towed anything. It's been pretty good to me but I too have had ticking sounds from engine. When warmed up, it goes away. Gas mileage sucks but dealt with it..but just yesterday morning I too just experienced loud popping sounds. I guess from transmission area - I guess. Today I tried to drive to work hoping and praying it was nothing but right out of drive way and a bit down the street, it started again. Now back tire wasn't spinning, luckily I was close enough to take it home...and luckily we have another car. After reading all complaints I realize this is my first and last Nissan I buy.

I just replaced my 2010 Titan's transmission. The transmission company confirmed the transmission packed up due to manufacturing defect. The alternator and transmission were routed through same channel, causing water built up in the engine. I paid a huge amount to fixed this four-year-old engine. Please to know the next step if other people could confirm same experience.

I have a Nissan Titan 07, and every time I turn it on, always there is a light on! Sometimes is the slip, others vdc, and always the check engine on. The mechanic computer always tell there is a bad sensor. I spend thousand of dollars in parts and mechanic labor, but never the lights come off for long time! Never more another Nissan! I ask answers to Nissan America, The Nissan representative dealer in my country, but never I get a direct answer to my truck problems.

I just paid $700.00 to have both rear axle seals replaced and then the rear end came out. I hope the people at Nissan are proud of themselves for selling junk between 30 &40 grand to a disabled person with muscular dystrophy. How do you sleep at night knowing you are screwing the very people that put the food on your table for your family? Shame on you NISSAN.

The issue was resolved about a month later by taking it back to the transmission guy that had rebuilt it. He said he had overlooked a small crack in the drum. The dealership made it right and agreed to take my initial payment of $2,200.00 for the valve body as full payment. It has a new transmission and I have since sold the truck:)

My 2006 Nissan Titan SE has been babied for 7 years and yet the 4th gear and overdrive went out. Had a friend of mine run a diagnostic test on it. The code indicated it was the turbine sensor which is actually a speed control module. I was told at Deacon Jones Nissan in Goldsboro NC that I needed a new valve body, which cost $2,200 including install. Two weeks later, after install, it was doing the same thing as when I took it in. Was then told that I needed a new transmission. I asked if the $2,200 I had just spent go towards the $5,975 transmission. I was told NO.
I immediately took the truck home because I felt like I needed to calm down before I said something I would regret later. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and told them of my dissatisfaction with the dealership and my concern of a 90,000-mile mint condition truck with a bad transmission. After waiting two weeks and two phone calls later from consumer affairs, they said they couldn't help me and said that is why we have warranties. I immediately called the General Manager at the dealership and told him what I had been told in the service department, and ask him was that how he wanted to do business. He said no, and someone will call me back. They called back within 5 minutes and said I could apply the $2,200 towards the new transmission.
In the meantime I decided I could not afford a new transmission nor did I think it was necessary on a 90,000 mile truck. They agreed to get it rebuilt and I would have to come up with 1,800 more dollars out of pocket. One week later, I received a call saying that the transmission was doing the exact same thing and I needed another valve body because apparently the replacement valve body was defective. So, I'm thinking I didn't need a transmission in the first place and someone was misdiagnosing my problem. When confronted with these questions, the service manager said that the bands in the transmission caused the valve body to go bad. Told him that didn't make sense considering there had been no signs of slipping or any other transmission problems prior to the OD going out. So I'm waiting on another valve body to come from Japan and praying to God they don't think I'm going to pay for it. I have owned 4 Nissans, three of which were purchased new. This is definitely my last! I will write more once I know more about the situation.

I'm age 75 and have owned many vehicles in my lifetime, which includes pickup trucks from all manufacturers. I'm here to tell you that my 05 Titan is without equal. Other than gas, oil and tires, I've not spent a nickel on it and it has 62,000 miles on it right now. I've towed boats and RV campers - I run Mobil 1 for oil and run it 15,000 miles between changes. I nail the throttle and it blows the doors off most cars - It really depends on how much nerve I have to stick with it. In the very beginning, I experienced the well-known brake rotor issue. It was fixed for free. The paint is great and she looks new. What more could a guy want?

Just had the top of my 2004 repainted because clear coat failed. Now I see the same thing starting on the hood. The paint used today is just garbage I guess. My Model A Ford was painted 26 years ago and still looks perfect other than a couple of nicks from rocks on the road.

I had a 06 Hemi Ram which was a good truck from a looks standpoint, but it had a lot of nickel and dime repairs. I traded it for a 13 Titan and love my new Titan. My wife has a 05 Armada and we have done nothing to it but change the oil and put gas in it. That is the main driver for a new Titan.

I have an '05 Titan crew cab 4WD. With only 59k babied miles, I'm doing the third front brake rebuild. I've decided to install '09 parts at the wheels, as others have done but no one it seems has replaced the master cylinder. All the blogs I've seen about this upgrade note that the pedal goes almost to the floor, but the truck stops great! I'm an aircraft mechanic and inventor, plus I built my first car in '68, so auto brakes are no challenge. The master cylinder is sized to match the displacement of the caliper pistons. You can't expect the '05 master to work properly with the much larger/greater volume '09 pistons. The dealer is no help, and sent me to Nissan NA for advice, and after several calls, they can't help me either.
I want to know if the '09 master will bolt up to my '05 booster and are there any ABS, VDC or any other system electronics involved that may make this match-up incompatible; before I spend big $ on a new master cylinder. Nissan tech. service/engineers should be able to tell me. I'm willing to void all warranties and liabilities and do this at my risk, but they won't answer my question. They never offered us early owners any upgrade; content to redesign the post-'07 (I believe) brakes to fix their design flaw.
This should have been a recall and they should be doing what I'm doing. The first time I had a problem with the original brakes, the left front brake froze up while driving on a country road so bad that I had to take the wheel off and pound on the caliper and pry it away to get the axle to turn. The wheel was too hot to touch. The consensus is that the parts are too small for this vehicle; so you can replace like for like forever and never get brakes that work properly. I shouldn't have to buy aftermarket $4K brake systems and have to pay huge $ forever for rotors and pads.

2005 Titan SE - 5,000 miles - nearly all vent adjustments broke. 5,000 miles - back door handles broke. 10,000 miles - skid plate fell off. 30,000 miles - tailgate handle broke. 50,000 miles - Fuel Pump went out and replaced with no help. 75,000 miles - Front Left wheel bearing. Whole hub assembly was replaced. 80,000 miles - Back right wheel sensor. 85,000 miles - Front left wheel sensor. 86,000 miles - Transfer case replaced. 100,000 miles - front differential replaced. 125,000 miles - front right hub assembly replaced. 150,000 miles - ABS system quit working. There was a service issue release, but not a recall. 180,000 miles - front axle popped out of front differential due to faulty clips in -40 degree temp in a blizzard with 1 foot+ snow on the road. Truck now free or going to scrap yard. Never any help from ** Nissan.

I bought my Nissan Titan in 2005. The first engine was gone at 44300 miles. I had to fight Nissan for a long time before they finally give in. They had no choice because it was still under warranty. They told me they would replace the engine with a new engine. The next engine went at 72000 miles. I left it back to the dealer and they told me they will not warranty the second engine because it was only warranty for one year. So obviously it was not a new engine they put in. When I check for oil there was not one drop of oil in the engine, no warning light to tell you that your low in oil. Nissan has knowing about this problem but will not address it. It cost me 8500 for a recondition engine that has a 3 year warranty. My question here is, why did Nissan not give me a 3 year warranty. Shame on you Nissan. I will make sure that I let every construction contractor never to buy Nissan titan truck or any Nissan truck. You have lost a customer for life.I will make sure that my family members will never buy Nissan EVER. Unsatisfied customer.

I was driving down road at 35, noticed smoke coming from engine and truck had trouble accelerating. Pulled into a parking lot, opened hood and looked under truck, noticed fluid was everywhere. Called AAA and had truck towed to Mastria Nissan in Raynham MA. Mastria Nissan called and stated the Transmission cooler hose split at the radiator causing the fluid to leak out, and would get back to me when they fixed the line. ** from Mastria called me and said after fixing line and filling with transmission fluid they test drove and 4th and 5th gear of the transmission was burnt out, and that I would need a new transmission. I asked how did the transmission fail. He said when the fluid leaked out caused the gears to burn. He informed me it would be about $4,400.00 to fix and Nissan would not cover even though the transmission is still under warranty. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs and they were no help. Took my truck from Nissan, had a transmission place take a look and they told me same thing. I had them repair the transmission but plan to hire a lawyer to fight Nissan because they were rude and no help. Have had Nissan vehicles my whole life but this will probably be my last, and I have been telling everyone I know what happened and how Nissan handled.

1 month after I bought my 2007 Nissan Titan with 50k miles, I noticed a small tick when the truck was cold. It went away after it warmed up and the truck ran fine. Upon telling the Nissan dealership, they told me it happens to these trucks and it would be around $1,800.00 to $2200.00 to fix the quality defect. The truck now has 88k on it and hasn't gotten any worse but only gets 15 mpg on the highway and I wonder if its related to the leak. The dealer was supposed to tell me if they can repair the defect since it is in fact a quality defect but has went radio silent. I would really like to not go in debt for another truck as they are very high and who can afford to buy a new truck every couple years, especially when its a brand quality issue. I am not happy and am open to any ideas on how to make them pay for the repairs.GM, Ford or even Dodge would have recalled the trucks with an engineered fix by now. This is pretty much BS.

Transmission blew up with only 40,000 kilometers. Now Nissan Canada doesn't want to be responsible for all the expenses created with the malfunction of the vehicle. The incident took place July 4th, 2013 and today is September 17th 2013 and the problem remains unsolved.

I've spent close to $1000 to resolve a cooling system problem with my 2004 Nissan Titan. When I drained all of my efforts to resolve the problem, I turned to the web only to find out that Nissan is aware of the problem but won't do anything to resolve the problem because it is a design flaw that would be very expensive to fix. Subsequently Nissan isn't willing to issue a recall for said problem. Now I'm stuck with a worthless piece of junk unsupported by its own manufacturer. As such, I WILL NEVER AGAIN, purchase another Nissan product.

I purchased the Nissan Titan in 2006. Over the following 7 years I have a variety of problems but one re-occurring problem has been the catalytic converters. To date I have replaced 3 and the truck is in the shop for number 4. Nissan paid for the first 2 under the warranty but I have paid for the remainder. Number 4 replacement will be the worst because of the engine damage associated with the failure. When is Nissan going to step up and fix this problem?

The passenger door won't open. I closed the door. Now it won't open. I have the door panel off and can see everything seems to be working. Just stuck, so I pulled hard on outside handle. It came off! Cheap plastic. How do you get these things open without using the jaws of life? It's a 2012 Nissan Extended cab. I just shut it and it hasn't opened since 2000 mi. on the truck. Haven't even done 1st oil change yet! Every Nissan dealer I've contacted agrees it must be my fault, that the parts never fail and the repairs will be at my expense, but nobody can tell me how to get the door open so I can remove the three screws that hold it in to replace it myself! I took pictures of the inside of the door and the outside.

When I purchased the truck in June 2010, I had a 3-day window to return the truck if I noticed a problem. I did just that and explained to salesman what I noticed and wanted it fixed. They kept the truck for a solid week but no repairs were made on it. I noticed a leak from rear of truck and a fluid on axle and tires. I explained my concern to the salesman and he graciously presented my issue to the General Manager of this location. Little did I know the truck (2005 Nissan Titan Le) has problems with the rear differential going out, as along with the 2004, 2006 models. I extremely expressed my disappointment with the nature of the staff in handling my concern since this is a major safety issue.
This dealership refused to fix the truck at their expense when they are completely well aware of the long standing problem. My truck has sat for 2 years now with the rear differential completely out and haven't had the proper funds to repair it. The end did go out and thank God I was not injured or anyone else at the time it occurred. It had a loud pop, bang and immediately the back tires stopped rotating. I was fortunate enough to pull over at a restaurant to let the truck sit until I could get it towed. I would greatly appreciate your assistance with this matter since the dealership refuses to intervene.

My Titan has approx. 119,000 miles, and I was driving and heard a loud pop. Then shortly after that, the rear end was gone causing the rear differential gear assembly to break at $2,200.00. I had it towed to my local Nissan dealer and of course this happened on Friday, and they had to order parts that would take 3 days to get here. I called Nissan Corporate on Monday and was given a case #. But they called me back on Wed. of course to deny my claim. Nissan doesn't honor their products. This rear end problem should be recalled and repaired since it is a common issue. Nissan I'm sure is very aware that it is a manufacturer's defective part; but since it is a costly part they're doing nothing about. I will definitely not be buying another Nissan.

I bought a used 2005 Titan; the rear-end is completely trashed due to inferior parts. The dealer said I was looking at around $5,000 to get it repaired. After researching about the rear-ends, I found out that Nissan has known about this problem since 2004, as far as I can tell, yet there has never been any recalls about these problems. I would never recommend anyone to buy a Nissan Titan because of this problem alone. But there are other problems on the Titan, but these are far less expensive. It seems to me the more money the problem costs the company, the more they turn their heads on it. The dealer I went to could not even tell me the rear-end gear ratio.

I want to send this letter to hopefully bring light to an issue with my 2006 Nissan Titan Truck. My vehicle was purchased in April of 2006. I currently have 45,000 miles on my vehicle and the engine is inoperable. At 29,000 miles, I noticed an oil consumption issue. I brought my vehicle to my local Nissan service department and they proceeded to correct the issue, or so I thought. After another 9,000 miles, I noticed the issue again but worse. I contacted consumer affairs since the dealer stated that my vehicle was out of warranty based on time. I would like to stress that I drive my truck approximately 6,000 miles a year.
In the 6 years I have owned my vehicle, I have had the following problems:
- Defective Fan Motor (26,580 miles)- Door Alarm Switch (28,971 miles)
- Driver side window motor (28,971 miles)
- Fuel Tank sending unit (36,654 miles)
- 2 Catalytic Converters (36,654 miles)
- Defective ECM relay (39,898 miles)
- Oil Consumption Issue 4 quarts low after 1,000 miles driven (39,898 miles)
- 2 Catalytic Converters (41,000 miles)
- Engine will not hold oil 4 quarts every 1,000 on 3 different occasions, oil consumption test confirmed. (45,000 miles)
- Consumer affairs file closed, no warranty offered due to the amount of time the vehicle has been owned. (45,000 miles)
As you might see I have had multiple problems with my 2006 Titan, which to me is very upsetting. I took a risk buying the vehicle since I’ve always purchased Ford or Chevy prior. I thought I would be able to expect a vehicle that could offer a better look, performance, and longevity of the engine. I still love my Titan truck and hope to find a solution. I never thought that I'd be writing a letter like this for a vehicle that I own. I paid full price for this brand new truck and here I am asking for some help with my engine after 40,000 miles. How can you or I stand behind a product that breaks down after only 40,000 miles? I have a 1995 Ford Escort with 240,000 miles and still running. In the mornings, I have to choose the Ford because it’s more reliable and I know that it will get me from A to B.
I hope that you might understand how I feel and possibly give me a call, to give me some sort of hope. This is a last ditch effort since I have already been denied by your employees at the consumer affairs level on two different occasions. My next step in my process is to hire a Lawyer, go to the Better Business Bureau, and to the News; I wanted to try this before that happened. The quote I received from the dealership, where I had the oil consumption test done, told me that the engine would cost me $12,000. That’s a very hard pill to swallow.
I received a call stating that they would not help me with my engine. Since I have contacted every newsroom and the press and have blogged to every website available, I will continue until Nissan does the right thing.

Nissan Titan Crew Cab 2004 - I have had numerous problems from brakes (replaced 3 times by dealer because they are just too small for truck) and I have replaced them myself 3 times with better quality from eBay. Had fuel delivery problems, starting problems, rear-end problems, fuel economy problems (never got what the sticker said, I get 10 mpg regular driving and when I tow, I get 6 mpg, terrible), 4 x 4 transfer problems, radiator line problems, break and power steering line problems. Just way too much for what you pay for!
Now while I am traveling down the interstate (last August and September 2012), towing a 33 ft. camper, the truck cuts out and my gauges light up like a color light blinking Christmas tree! There is a series of problems and if not me, someone will be killed traveling like I am going 60-65 mph towing a camper. Someone told me that there was a recall on the main computer and when they described the situation surrounding the recall, it matched mine to the "T". I have called dealer and did not call back yet. It has been 3 days since then. I found out that Nissan doesn't ever want to take the blame for anything.
I will never buy another Nissan. I should have gone with my original choice when I purchased this truck F-250 Ford Diesel. I am trying to locate the recall information but can't find it and of course, Nissan has not said anything either which doesn't surprise me. Stay away from Nissan Titans!

Since I bought the 2005 Titan in 2007, I have replaced the front rotors (one was cracked), the computer, the rear axle seals and now I need a new transmission. My truck has 85,000 miles on it. While driving, I had a clunk when the transmission shifted. I brought it to the dealer and was told I need a new transmission because the third gear and overdrive were not working ($100.00 for that info). I wanted to bring it to my mechanic down the road for a second opinion, but never made it. Every gear went, including reverse. My six-year-old son was with me and we walked home on a 95-degree day. I had the truck flat-bedded home and called Nissan. They said that someone would call me back.
I never got a call. I contacted them again and was told that I was on the "list" and would be contacted - no call. I didn't spend $30,000 on a truck just to have a piece of yard art. It's $4500.00 for a new transmission. I was told by three mechanics that the cooler in the transmission leaks around 100,000 miles and wrecks the transmission. I have mechanics looking for a used one, but none are around. They can find hundreds of GM and Ford transmissions. This sounds like a defect to me. This is the last time I will ever buy a Nissan product.

I bought a new 2005 Nissan Titan LE with extended warranty. Living in the suburbs of Atlanta, driving is so hectic and everything is so far. So I got 3 years out of my extended warranty, 100k miles added up really fast. However, after 3 1/2 years (early 2009), the 2 catalytic converters went out costing me $2,000. I was so devastated to put that kind of money in a 3 1/2-year-old car all at once and still pay a $700 monthly car note. The truck was paid off in year 2011 and now here it is 2012, I had to put it in the shop because the engine went out. The truck was bucking and shaking with black smoke expelling. My mechanic tells me that not only do we need a new engine but also new catalytic converters. I was laid off this January 2012 and my truck is still in the shop today, 9/7/2012.
I will never ever again buy a Nissan anything. They refuse to assist you. Corporate headquarters will not help. These cars today are overrated. You pay all your hard earned monies to have one and they are breaking down as soon as you drive them off the lot. Auto makers need to stop making these cars with plastic parts and putting them in areas that should not have anything plastic because of the heat. Of course, it is all about money and not the consumer. I will be willing to participate in a class action suit.

I went to my garage for an oil change. The mechanic noticed something didn't sound right, nothing that I heard. He checked and it was a cracked exhaust manifold on both sides. I was at 81,000 miles on an 80,000-mile warranty. I was told by Nissan North America to take it to the service department at my local Nissan dealership. At the garage, the service person said that the crack had been there for a while (which means before my warranty ran out). After a month of waiting, Nissan North America called to inform me that it was my problem and they would not help on the cost to repair ($3,600). I will no longer buy a Nissan and tell all whom I know to never buy Nissan. Thank you. FYI, I had a person, not Nissan, repair for $500. This is also why I won't be back to Nissan. Basically, you lost a customer for life over $500 repair that is due to your failing parts. The person repairing the exhaust manifolds said that he has repaired at least 10-15 this year on the Titans. They will tell you nothing is wrong with their trucks exhaust. Again, thank you Nissan.

What a piece of junk! I bought this Nissan Titan brand new and at 117K miles; it needs a new rear end for nearly $4000. I come to find out this is a common problem with these trucks, but Nissan will not do anything for you. I would never recommend Nissan again and I would never buy one again. They do not stand behind their product at all.

I purchased a 2007 Nissan Titan with delivery miles of 26,421 on 12/18/09 from John Marazzi Nissan in Naples, FL. It had been under warranty, when I took it in for a bump sensation from the rear end on 06/11/10 and again on 08/27/10. Both times, they told me nothing was found. It continued to happen. I made several calls to the service manager regarding this continual problem. He (Dave) told me he would look into it and check if there were any service bulletins regarding this. He never followed through.
I feel like they were avoiding me. An employee in the parts department told me that there was a problem with Titan's drive shaft, but no one would verify it. I became totally frustrated and just went on with my day. But on 6/12/12, I took the truck to Auto Precision, Inc. and they reviewed the truck. They contacted Sutherlin Nissan in Fort Myers, FL. They told them of a problem with the driveline. At Auto Precision, they found the problem. It took them several days, but with perseverance, they diagnosed the bump I was complaining of. They replaced the drive/propeller shaft, rear axle (including the U joint), and the carrier bearing housing. It cost me parts and labor of $786.84.
If John Marazzi Nissan followed through and listened to the customer, not just appeased them, it would had been corrected when the vehicle warranty was valid. I want to know how I start a claim to get my money from Nissan for the repair that I told you of. Funny, the noise is gone! Please contact me, so I can begin the process.

I am done with Nissan. I have regretted buying this truck since the week after I purchased it. I have had the front brakes replaced multiple times, 2x within a year. The transfer case was shot at 90,000 miles - a nice $2400 repair bill. Now, at 124,000, my truck fails inspection due to check engine light. Nissan tells me it’s $3,000 to replace two of the four catalytic converters (apparently there are 4). Local shops tell me the install is so difficult they don't want to touch it. I can't tell you the number of problems I've had with my Titan, the multiple broken windshields that cracked shortly after replacing them, the delay in receiving parts that have cost me hundreds of dollars in hotel bills waiting for repairs.
The problems with the 4-wheel drive engagement are just a nightmare from day one. Nissan customer service is horrible (they made agreements to reimburse me for hotel bills and then stopped returning my calls). I have read multiple complaints from owners about this catalytic converter issue. Something seriously should be done about this. I agree, a class action suit is needed. I will never buy a Nissan ever again, my first and last. People complain about American companies and American made cars but I have never had any of the issues with them that I've had with Nissan. I could not rate this company any lower.

My 2006 Titan stalled out at a red light. Unfortunately, there was a repair shop within walking distance. The repair shop was unable to fix the problem, but tried. I decided to bring it to what I thought would be professionals. My truck was repaired by the Nissan dealership at a cost of $750. After further investigation, I discovered there was a recall on the part that was replaced. When I confronted the dealership, I was told that my VIN number was not one of the numbers to be on recall. I was asked by the dealership to come in and he would show me on the computer. So I took him up on the offer. When I went in, I was told that there was a mistake and it was on recall. They would have been glad to repair it for free, but since it was already worked on by another mechanic, they would not honor the recall. The part was bad, what's the problem? So I'm out the $750. After purchasing 3 new Nissans from this dealership, I will never buy another. Buyer beware of the dealership, Premier Nissan, Metairie LA. I have a 2005 Nissan Titan LE 4x4 off-road. Yes, I got every option Nissan made for this truck which I wanted to keep for a long time. After only 40k miles is when the real problems started. To list a few: brakes, fuel pump, engine, rear end, the catalytic converter and muffler all replaced between 2008-09. I had several other small problems like the skid plate being replaced with the wrong one. Now, you cannot change the oil without removing the plate from the truck. I am writing this complaint because of the current problem I am having for the second time. The catalytic converter called bank 1 has gone bad again.
I have spoken to several Nissan techs (that do not want to be on record) about this problem. My answer has always been the same. It's a bad design and the converter is too close to the engine which overheats the converter in turn it crumbles. After the converter crumbles, the pieces get sucked into the engine and destroy it.
Now that the truck is out of warranty, the dealership advised me to call Nissan for assistance with this problem. On 4-19-12, I was informed by Nissan that they would provide no assistance and I should file a complaint if I am unhappy with their answer. So here I am filing. Btw, a close friend also had this same problem with his 2004 Titan. Nissan, at least let him trade his truck in at the value of a truck with a good engine.

No matter what site, I hear the same complaints over and over. As I was reading the complaints on this site, I have seen all the same issues that I am having or have had. I got to say enough is enough and it is time to file a class action lawsuit against Nissan. They will only cover what the government makes them. I say we stand up and be heard. I know for a fact they will only cover what they are made to cover. Like my fuel gauge sending unit. Same problem as the 05, 06 and 07 but the NTA or whatever only made me recall back to 05. 2006 Nissan Titan catalytic converters needed to be replaced in order to pass a smog and it costs $2400 to repair. The mechanic said the honeycomb inside was completely gone where there should had been a visible one! This needs to be recalled!

I bought this truck with 18,000 miles on it in 2008. It was in excellent condition at the time. Except for the terrible gas mileage, consistently 10 mpg, there didn't appear to be any real issues, until around November 2011. From the first day I owned it, I would get a slight vibration in the front end, between 60-65 mph. It would be smooth under and over that speed, and I attributed it a wheel, being out of balance, although new tires were on the vehicle, when I bought it. In 2011, I started getting a SES (service engine soon) light, whenever I hit 70 mph. The vehicle would run fine, and there was no indication of a problem, it was even passing it's emission tests. I would reset the SES light, and it would be fine until I hit 70-75 mph again.
In Sept. 2011, I was getting a clunking sound in the front end, and I discovered my universal joint on the front drive shaft was falling apart. The needle bearings had fallen out of it. I thought this was strange, because I rarely use the front drive shaft for 4 wheel drive. After changing the u-joint, the shake in my front went away when going 60-65 mph, which could only mean it had been failing for at least 3 years. In December 2011, the SES light started coming on at lower speeds, and I brought it to my mechanic who determined it was a bad oxygen sensor, and would be about $200. He also had the truck on a lift, and discovered these other problems that I wasn't aware of.
All 4 brake rotors were shot, the rear shocks were rotting off their connection points, the front struts weren't far behind, the rear axle was leaking onto the rear left brake, the transmission seals were leaking, the muffler had a hole in the top of it causing the exhaust gas to escape and burning the underside of the truck bed. The tail pipe had completely rotted off the muffler, but was still being held in place by the hangers. If the truck had never been inspected on a lift I wouldn't have been aware of these problems as it "seemed" the truck was fine. The estimate to fix everything was about $2,000. This is from a trustworthy mechanic who I've known for many years.
What upsets me the most is that this truck was never used for towing, rarely used in four wheel drive, always garaged, and only has 44,000 miles on it. It didn't take long to make a decision, the truck was gone by the end of the week. I originally intended to keep the truck for many years, but after seeing these problems and reading about numerous others, I wasn't about to wait until the differential blew apart, or the truck caught on fire. I can't imagine the problems this Titan would have encountered, if I actually used it for it's intended purposes, as a truck. This was my first and last Nissan vehicle.

The catalytic converter issue is a definite defect for the 2006 Nissan Titan. Let me pile on even more. I purchased my 2006 Nissan Titan (Texas Titan package) Crewcab brand new and had just paid it off and after 125k miles, one of the catalytic converters went out. The dealership has quoted me $1300 to repair, but after reading the posts on this website, I am absolutely not spending $1300 to replace a part that's covered under warranty for 12 months, only to have the new converter go out and have the same problem a year and a half later. Thanks to all who posted. This is the last Nissan automobile I will purchase.

I bought my 2004 Nissan Titan with less than 80,000 miles. When I purchased the 2004 Nissan Titan, it had cracked exhaust manifolds. I had noticed the ticking and unique sound when I purchased the vehicle. The Nissan drove fine, but I doubt it could meet emission standards. The cracked exhaust manifolds change the oxygen sensor reading and changes the fuel mixture and leaks exhaust with not treatment from the CAT. I think there should be a recall on the exhaust because there are no flex pipes built into the exhaust. The manifold cracks when the truck flexes and moves. It breaks from normal driving, under normal driving conditions.

I have a 2005 Titan truck that has been killing my wallet! My truck is sitting at AAMCO for the last 2 1/2 weeks because Nissan does not have the transmission part for my truck anywhere. The whole USA? I'm renting a truck at $19.95 a day plus 0.59 cants a mile. My total so far is $900.00. They say the part might come in 1/24.
Maybe? In 2011 my rear-end went out and cost me $980. In 2010 my on board computer went out and cost me $480. About 4 months later I got a recall for a bad chip in my computer. They refunded me my $480. In 2010 my wiring package shorted out and blew my radio/CD player out. North American Nissan would only replace my wiring package, not my radio/CD player which they wanted me to pay $580.00 to replace that. Their wiring package shorted out which blew my radio/CD player: **! I have also had recalls on the cooling fan, bad bolts on my truck bed. You need to do a break job once a year on this truck also!

At 100k miles, my catalytic converter went out. Dealer wanted $1,600+ to fix and the parts are only good for 12 months or 12k miles. I've noticed that online Nissan Titan owners are having the same problem. It was time for smog here in Cali but my check engine light was in so it wouldn’t pass the visual inspection. There has to be a recall or something every other truck out there that only has one catalytic. Why does this truck need four? It's not fair for the average working people that picked a Nissan because they thought it would last. It's not reliable and I'm very upset.

I have a 2004 Nissan Titan purchased brand new. I was told it now has a right bent axle and a left leaking axle in the rear. The truck has never been wrecked. I'm concerned that this could be a defect in the Nissan Titan and I have filed a complaint against Nissan in hopes that it will be fixed by them free of charge. Nissan should stand true to their consumers that by their 30 thousand dollar trucks.

2006 Nissan Titan. My truck has a transfer case leak (seal) and a rear axle leak (seal & bearings). My truck has factory suspension, never a lift kit, and I do not hall trailers or large loads in the bed.

I also have a 2005 Nissan Titan. At around 50,000 miles I had to replace the whole rear end. Then on the second rear end, the seals were leaking and also had to have that replaced also. Now I am having problems with the front end with a terrible grinding noise. I was very disappointed that Nissan wouldn't do anything for the 2nd rear end. And by the way truck has never been off-road or abused. All these problems have been due to normal every day driving. I would advise someone looking to buy a full size truck, not to buy a Nissan.

The front control arms on this vehicle have the same issue that many other Nissan's that have been recalled do. This particular vin number however, does not come under recall but it is the exact same issue as stated below. Nissan states that this will cause a collision if not addressed. Nissan will not acknowledge the issue on my vehicle because my vin # isn't "right."

I own a 2004 Nissan Titan 4 door 4x4. I was a very happy Nissan customer when I bought this truck. After about 55,000 miles, the truck went downhill. I have replaced 3 radiators and a rear axle, among many others. I am now going to have to get another rear axle with only 60,000 miles on this rear axle. I think this is a serious problem among many more with this truck, including the braking system. Braking system will fail, and abs light will come on, and you will have no braking power.

I purchased a 2006 Nissan Titan brand new and am the original owner. After 110,000 miles on the truck, the catalytic converters went out. I paid my ASE certified mechanic over $1,800 dollars to replace both. The dealer quoted around $3,000. In order to get a bit cheaper price, I was thinking about using after market parts but my mechanic urged me to use genuine Nissan parts.
I relented and did so. All was well until 13 months later, the Check Engine light started coming on and guess what the issue was? The converters went out. The Nissan parts were only warranted for one year, go figure - 1 month later the warranty goes out.
I went through Nissan customer service and spent a lot of time arguing with them on why they should cover the parts. They kept mentioning if the dealer would have replaced them they could help me out. Oh, now I see why you charge so much more than my mechanic even though he used Nissan certified parts. I even suggested if they sent me the replacement converters, I would pay the labor to have them replaced. They wouldn't even do this. This is ludicrous, there is clearly a manufacturer defect and now I am again stuck with paying the cost.

On August 13th, I was driving along the freeway in my 2006 Nissan Titan when my whole sunroof blew off. I looked in the rear view and luckily, no cars were behind me. I immediately took it back to the dealer and they advised me to contact consumer affairs to get it replaced, so I did. They refused to fix the matter without sending anyone out to inspect it.
So, I contacted my insurance. However, they also refused to fix the problem stating that the problem occurred due to wear and tear on the the tracks where the sunroof was attached. I then called consumer affairs back telling them that it was due to wear and tear and I shouldn't be financially responsible. I also had pictures that shows the corrosion along the tracks. They still refused to fix the problem, once again, without sending out anyone to inspect it. It cost $1,900 to fix this problem. I don't believe that I should be responsible.

We were traveling on vacation with three small kids. About an hour into the drive, all the lights came up on the dashboard and truck would not run. After having it towed home and not being able to go on vacation, we found out that there was over $3,000 worth of damage and what had happened was the muffler unit fell off and got so hot that it burned up the entire bottom of the vehicle.
When I went to pick up the truck after getting it fixed, I was told by the manager, Brian, that this was the 5th Titan he had fixed with the exact same problem and we live in a small town. He said that the location of the muffler is not in a safe place. I filed a complaint with Nissan Consumer affairs, and they acted like they cared and asked me to send receipt and they would look into. After waiting almost 3 weeks of horrible customer service, they denied me, stating that it had 74,000 miles and wasn't covered under warranty. I have been researching online and lots of people are having the same exact issue. I think this needs to be recalled and I need to be reimbursed.

I have a 2006 Nissan Titan that had a 4 low light blinking while I was out of town. I took it to the dealership and the mechanic told me it could be one of the 3 switches but they couldn't do the repair because they didn't have the parts, but it would be okay for me to drive the 400 miles back home. I paid the $120 diagnostic fee but don't think it was fair, since they said that the amount would go towards the cost of repairing. But since they don't have any parts, I was just out that money. On the way home, I heard a clunking and thumping noise so, later that week when I got back, I took it to my dealership where I bought the vehicle from. They said that the transfer case was leaking, it had no bolts left in it, and has very little fluid but a lot of metal shavings. They told me that it would need to be replaced at a cost of about $2,700. I have read in many of the forums about people having problems with this and feel like Nissan should stand up and take care of this obvious problem that they have.

I bought a 2011 Nissan Titan on August 12, 2011 in Carson City California. I drove it all the way to Colorado with no problem. However, just this morning (18 Sept 2011), we were on 25N freeway. I exit at Academy Blvd. and as soon as I passed the bridge, the truck went dead. I cannot even stop, the break will not work. The truck was rolling by itself. The battery is working and I have enough battery to go home. When it finally stopped, I waited for 5-10 seconds and I started the engine again.
I started to move and as soon as I passed the 2nd stoplight, it stopped again. So I decided to park in Home Depot parking lot and called for a tow truck in which I paid for out of my pocket. It was so frustrating and a very scary experience. The tow truck guy thought it was just the clamp on the battery because it was loose. Then, he followed me for 10-11 blocks and it was fine. So he left. But as soon as I was about to go down the hill, it happened again and this time, it did not want to stop so I have to go up the ramp off the side walk so I didn't have to hit any car in front of me. It stalled 3 times. I called the tow truck again and towed it to Nissan Colorado Springs in Academy. I have to call them tomorrow.

I bought my 2005 Nissan Titan 5.6 XE 4X4 less than 3,000 miles ago with 88,000 +/- miles. I needed a new pickup truck and thought since we had a trip planned for Texas, I would have an excuse to purchase it sooner. I lost my rear end the day I got here. I went to pull out of our friend's driveway when I was stopped suddenly. It felt like someone had tied a rope to my bumper. I put it in park, crawled around looking to see if I ran something over, etc. I noticed fluid had been seeping from behind the rear tires. I got in and stepped on the brakes to rule out brake fluid. I immediately determined it was the rear axle seals leaking. I went to back up and "pop, pop, pop". I called the closest dealer and they picked it up with a wrecker. If I had known about the defect before purchasing, obviously, I wouldn't have bought this vehicle.

I have a Nissan Titan with 89000 miles on it. The rear axle seals started leaking. Apparently, everybody is having problems with this. And who knows how much it’s going to cost me, since I have to replace the spacers, the bearings and perhaps even the brakes.

My 2005 Nissan Titan quit while towing a boat. I have 37000 miles on the truck. I had the truck towed to Conway, 70 miles, for repair. The exhaust pipe was broken, had EGI fuse blown, and had both rear seals leaking. The dealer wanted approximately 2000.00 to repair all. There was nothing found about why the EGI fuse blew. My complaint is not with the Nissan dealer but with Nissan Corporation. I would not expect rear wheel seals to leak at 137,000 miles, let alone 37, 000. This seems to be a defect in this model from the research I have done. But, my truck is over 5 years old so there's no coverage to fix it. I'm punished because I don't give it much.

I just purchased a 2004 Nissan Titan LE 4x4 about a month and a half ago. I am the second owner and I bought it from a guy who cashed it brand new in 2004 and took very good care of it. The truck has only 55k miles.
Last weekend, June 19, 2011, it started making banging and grinding noises in the back wheel. At first, I thought I ran over something and it was stuck in the back wheels. After examining the rear wheel area and the brake pads, everything looked normal. However, the noise got louder and louder. It sounded like I was dragging a refrigerator. I felt a stutter in the vehicle and it started to struggle to go when I would put the truck into drive. I assumed the brake calipers may have been jammed and brought it into an auto service center to be examined.
About 2 hours later, I went back to the shop and the technician took me to go see the problem. They examined the rear brakes and differential and found numerous large chunks of broken metal inside, which she said were pieces of shoes, hardware, and gears. They confirmed that the problem was in the rear differential and that the gear damage had likely caused a chain reaction damaging the entire left rear axle assembly and E-brakes. The rear axle seals were leaking too onto the wheels. All these parts needed to be replaced along with the rear axle. The service shop quoted me $3,800 to get this fixed! I was in shock as I just bought the truck. Of course, I could no longer drive the truck either as it was in pieces and not drivable.
What am I supposed to do? I don't have this money. I had no choice but to tell the service shop to go ahead with the repairs and I will just have to put it on a credit card.
The truck is currently at the shop as parts needed to be ordered. Today, I decided to do some research and went on to several internet sites for Nissan Titan owners to see if others were experiencing similar problems or if there was a recall for this. After reading page after page of entries posted by other Titan owners, there is no doubt the problem I experienced is definitely common and recurring with Nissan Titans. I could not find a recall though. I called the local Nissan dealership and spoke to a service person to get his opinion. He said he has not heard of this problem and that I should not believe everything I see on the internet. I was upset! He said that there is nothing they can do and all I could do was contact the Nissan Consumer Service.
I will be filing a complaint with the NHTSA . I am thankful as there could have been a very bad accident on the road if I did not bring it in yet. This is so frustrating! Is there anything else I can do? If this is a common occurrence, why do I, along with many other Titan owners, have to pay almost $4k for the repairs? That is dangerous and Nissan needs to cover these much needed expenses.

I own a 2007 Nissan Titan that currently has 74,000 miles. The drivers side rear seal went out around 40,000 miles and now the right side rear seal is out. The first was replace at the dealer under warranty. Being out of warranty now, I am going to have to pay around $750 to have this one replaced. My problem is that I purchased a Nissan because of their excellent quality, and reliability only to find out their quality is not good and they will not stand by their product. I have talked to around six other people with Titan's who have had the same problem! It seems like almost everyone who owns a Titan has this problem. Why is it not on recall?

I took my 2006 Nissan Titan into Fish Creek Nissan in Calgary. I was told I have a rear axle seal leak, and that I need to have the entire rear axle assembly replaced to fix the leak. I found many other people online with the exact same issue as myself. I called Nissan Canada and they felt it isn’t a safety issue therefore it wouldn’t be recalled. I do feel it could be a safety or mechanical issue that should definitely be recalled. Total cost estimate for repairs was $3,500.

I have a 2004 Nissan Titan and the rear shackle uncoiled and sent the spring through the bed of the truck. I have taken it to several mechanics, including the dealer and no one has ever seen this before, but fail to help me because the car is out of warranty. I have noticed that Nissan has a recall for this truck on front control arm, because of improper welding, not my part, but same faulty welding.

The oil went to the radiator. They replaced the motor and then the heater did not work for two mornings and they fixed that problem. The last straw, the motor in the driver window burnt out and they wanted me to pay for this. The truck is a 2008.5 Titan and has been nothing but trouble. It is a true lemon. I am thoroughly disgusted.

I own a 2005 Nissan Titan SE, 4x4, Off Road package with E-Locker (electronic locking differential). On Sunday, Oct 10, 2010, while cruising at 60-63 mph on dry pavement, began hearing banging noises and feeling a shutter in the vehicle. Drove truck straight to my usual mechanic at Cheriton Auto and left it for him to examine when he opened Monday morning, and had girlfriend come to pick me up. Mechanic examined the rear differential and found numerous large chunks of metal inside, which he said were pieces of gears.
He admitted very frankly that he did not feel comfortable performing the repairs, and recommended another shop that could. So I contacted Ferebee Enterprises, who sent a tow truck to pick up the vehicle and did their own assessment. They confirmed that the problem was in the rear differential and that the gear damage had likely caused a chain reaction damaging the entire rear axle assembly.
Ferebee's was able to find a replacement rear end and quote a price, but could not offer a warranty on the work. The mechanic then stated that to spend that much money on a part and repair without a warranty was not smart, and that this would be a service better performed by the dealer with factory parts that would be warrantied. I agreed of course and proceeded to contact several Nissan dealerships in the area to get quotes for the repairs. All said that they could not say for sure until getting the vehicle and seeing for themselves, but offered a price for what a rear end replacement would cost.
Charles Barker Nissan offered the lowest estimate of $2700 and seemed "the most eager for my business." So I had the vehicle towed there. Immediately, David ** in the service department called to say that in fact the Titan was in need of a new rear end and that the price would now be $3200 instead of $2700. In addition, that the failure to the rear differential had been caused by worn tires and that unless I purchased 4 new tires the parts and repairs would not be covered under warranty.
I mentioned earlier that I was operating on dry pavement when the failure took place. Now Mr. ** and his service tech at the dealership are telling me that the tires are the cause of the problem. Here's the history of the tires on the Titan: Toyo Open Country 285/70-R17 (stock size with moderate tread pattern). They were purchased and installed on December 31, 2008, by Straightline Automotive with 52,893 miles on the vehicle. When the rear axle failure occurred on Oct 10,'10, the truck had 80,516 miles on it.
This means the tires were 21 months and 11 days old with only 27,623 miles on them. Not particularly old or used for tires by today's standards. Furthermore, the vehicle had just been inspected on July 29,'10 at 77,434 miles and passed with no issues. So the tires were deemed safe for highway use by a certified state inspection agency just 3,082 miles earlier. Yet Charles Barker Nissan says the tires deteriorated so much in so little time as to cause catastrophic failure to the vehicle!
So, the dealership would now like $3200 for a new rear end (which went up $500 once they had the vehicle there and I was unable to drive it anywhere else) plus $1182 for new tires because they were the cause of the problem. I should also mention the tires I purchased for the truck 21 months earlier only cost $787.54. A difference of $395.
This may just be my opinion, but I believe the dealership expected me to just cave and spend the additional $1182 for tires because they had the vehicle on the lot. It had to be towed there and was inoperable, therefore I had no option but to let them stick me for this additional cost.
Back to the facts.
Finally, I asked the dealership to examine the 4wd on my Titan while it was in their shop. This had stopped working on January 31,'10 following a snow storm. I backed out of the driveway, engaged the 4wd control, and proceeded down the street. To my dismay, the 4wd did not engage, I had no traction, slid out of the packed snow, and became stuck. The 4wd has not worked since. The Nissan dealership quoted me a price of $2637.07 to fix this issue.
Not being able to afford these expensive repairs or spending $800-1000 every 21 months for new tires aroused my curiosity, decided to do some research. Went on to several internet sites for Nissan Titan owners to see if others were experiencing similar problems. After hours of reading page after page of entries posted by other Titan owners, there is no doubt the problems I am experiencing with my Titan are definitely common and reoccurring with Nissan Titans. Nissan is aware of the problems but offers no compensation or recall, and even denies in many cases that the problems exists. However, the numerous Titan owners on titantalk.com and clubtitan.org with the same problems and experiences tell a different story. There are also more than 82 cases/complaints filed with the NHTSA at www.odi.nhtsa.dot.gov. My ODI case # is **, and there are many more just like it.

2006 Titan LE with 66,000 miles. Two weeks ago, I brought truck in because of "whining" sound coming from underneath. I was told the rear axle seals need to be replaced and that fluid has leaked on the emergency brake and rear brakes. The rear cost $888, brakes $1600. I did the brakes myself, $280. The dealer did the seals. I picked up the truck and the same noise, along with a vibration under the driver's foot bed is still noticeable. I now found out that the front differential and the transfer case are bad and need to be replaced, $3800. The truck has 66,000 miles, the warranty expired at 60,000. I do not use the 4x4 at all and never ride off road. How can these problems happen without something being wrong with the construction of this vehicle?

On 6 October 2010, the rear end of our 2005 Nissan Titan began to squeak. The ABS light came on. About 10 minutes later, while traveling on the interstate trying to get to a service station, the right rear hub broke off of the rear axle. Luckily, we were not traveling at the posted speed limit because if we had been, the truck would have flipped. The truck was towed to a nearby repair shop. The mechanic there told us that we had a bad rear seal. We were very lucky and that the cost to replace the rear axle and the components would be about $3,000.00.

Since I bought my 2005 Nissan titan there have been several recalls. The first was for shaking brakes. They fixed it once and I need new rotors every 15000 miles. The second recall was for an air conditioner condenser motor that could catch a fire. They replaced that but for the next few days I woke up with a dead battery. They said they fixed it but when I went to pick it up the battery was dead again. A few more days pass. Eventually Nissan fixed the problem. So I thought.
On May 10, 2010 I wasn't even in the truck and had the keys in my hand and suddenly smoke came pouring out the windows. I had a fire under the dash. My big mistake was putting out the fire. I should have let the thing burn completely. I had it towed to DCH Freehold Nissan and to make a long story short it took them over 80 days and many un-returned phone calls before I got my truck back. I've been back 2 times for things going off suddenly, parts of my dashboard were missing.
The more I look the more I find wrong. There are wires hanging out of the bottom of my seat. They broke the visor when they removed the dash and just shoved it back up there like I wouldn't notice or be just too fed up to care. When I first went to pick it up it wasn't even ready. They didn’t even clean the interior of fire extinguisher and soot on the windows. They installed a brand new carpet over soot and smoke damage and screwed up the trim on one side. There are also several access punch outs missing on the steering column. After they received my complaint from consumer affairs they were oh so helpful. I am getting that shaking again in the brakes and now I read all the complaints about that too. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet on that one too! Now I own a truck with shaking brakes that smells like burning wires that could conk out or catch on fire at any time. Welcome to the "DCH Freehold Nissan Experience".

I was told that my 2006 Nissan Titan's front wheel hub bearing needs to be replaced. I don't have many miles on this truck, it's like 85ths. I was told that I need them on both sides in the front for a 2006. I don't think I need to replace them but I was told so. I think that Nissan need to look into the wheel bearing hub. I never had to replace anything I owned and now when I got this truck, I have to replace them when they are sealed. If you cannot grease them and they go back from the dealer or their main office who put it together, I think they need to replace them for free.

I was informed that 2005 Nissan Titan has a rear differential problem. I researched service bulletins and consumer complaints to find this is a defect. Nissan has avoided recalling truck for this condition. The dealer manager informed me that this was not a common problem. I paid $3500 in replacement costs because Nissan "does not repair differentials”, only replaces them. When someone is injured or killed as a result of this defect, Nissan will be mandated to admit the problem. I want to be part of the documentation process that Nissan was aware of this problem.

70,0000 miles on my Nissan Titan 2005. The differential locked up and went bad. This is apparently a common problem, but Nissan has not issued a recall. Nissan North America made me take my truck to the dealer and have it assessed for me to be eligible for "financial assistance". Which cost me $50 to tell me something I already knew. Then it took Nissan North America almost 2 weeks to call me and tell me they would not offer any "financial assistance" toward the repair. Which was estimated at $3500. I opted to repair it by my own means.
When I brought my truck back, I realized that the dealer (Frederick Nissan) had pulled my truck by the brush guard, which bent it out. They denied even moving it. They lied. When dropped off, it was backed into a parking spot, when picked up, it was forward in a parking spot in a different location on the lot. Marty and the Service manager of Frederick Nissan (Gary) are liars.
The estimated cost of repairs through Nissan is $3500. I will get it replaced for about $1500.

We have had many problems going on with our 2007 Nissan Titan. So far 2 recalls, they had to replace the motor on the fan. I think that cools the engine down and now we have another recall notice regarding the fuel gauge. The fuel sender needs to be replaced and the drive shaft went out on it. I had to buy another one. I bought it used for 270.00 dollars and Dans Automotive in Archer charged me $50.00 to put it on for me. I had oil changes done to it, a tune up which was due at 100000 miles. I had it done at 98000 miles. I had a complete flush done.
I paid about $300.00 for the flush. I had to replace the front brakes and now the head is cracked. It's still under warranty and they won't fix it because I don't have all the documentation. The lights don't work, like if you oil gets low. I have to put 3 quarts of oil in it every week. There is smoke coming out. The tail pipe smells like oil and antifreeze.
The truck cost around 23000 dollars. I also bought the tow package but in the fine print it tells you have two weeks. That was money I just gave to them. I am very disappointed with them. They do not care about their customers. I paid 500 dollars for that tow package and they would not put it on or give my money back to me. I had the engine serviced also. They sold me a piece of junk. I am mad. You buyers that go looking for a vehicle, avoid Nissan. They won't even honor the warranty on the truck and the truck still is under warranty and you have to pay for a rental vehicle. Also, I think if its under warranty, they should have a loaner for you.
I'm gonna check into the lemon law. I'm gonna park my vehicle close by Nissan with the lemon law sign on it. I hope they see it. They treat their customers badly. I have been scared to drive it to work on the night. I feel it is unsafe. It has so many problems going on with it. It smokes so bad, it looks like you're burning a pile of wood. It's thick white smoke. I'm afraid its gonna blow up with me driving it. It's my only form of transportation of getting to work.

We have had issues with our 05 Titan since we purchased it new. We have had to have the rotors replaced 3 times, each time we were told that the problem (brakes shaking) would be fixed. The last time we had them worked on, we were told that Nissan would not replace it with another set, even though we were under warranty.
We only have 40,000 original miles on the truck and it has been very well taken care of. We have tried to get Nissan to be fair and just with us and they have assigned a representative to us and every time she calls she says, the case is still under investigation. We are so tired of getting the run around with Nissan. They are aware of the braking issue with the 05 Titan. I would sincerely hope and pray that no one gets hurt or worse dies from their negligence.
We have had a Nissan mechanic tell us they (Nissan) made a mistake by putting such small brake rotors on this big truck. I am at my wits end this truck’s brakes so much so that I am willing to trade it to another brand just to have peace of mind when I drive it. That to me is sad, when you cannot even trust a top of the line truck to get you to Wal-Mart. I wish we had never bought this vehicle.

I had a failure of rear differential on my 2004 Titan purchased on 8/04. In 8/05 while in Washington State on vacation, I noticed 3-4 mpg drop in gas mileage. I crawled under truck looking for gas leak and found differential fluid had shot out of front seal and fluid was low. Added fluid per owner's manual and brought to a dealer. Dealer said I used wrong fluid and should have used synthetic.
At this point, Nissan realized they had heat problem and switched to synthetic and installed finned differential covers (which I noticed were on the 2005 models in their lot). I told the dealer they were covering up the heat problem on the 2004 model and wanted an inspection. They refused since they didn't see a problem.
I installed Mag-Hytech cover myself. Periodically, I had oil shoot out of vent on axle tube and all over tire. Dealer said that was normal. On 4/17/08 at 41,000, miles right axle seal failure, dealer fixed. On 10/13/09 at 52,589 miles, left axle seal failure, convinced Nissan corporate to fix and they did.
I found a fix online for bad axle vent design, added vent hose and filter but still had fluid coming out. On 3/8/10 at 55,900 miles, lots of metal on dipstick, changed fluid and pieces of spider gear came out with fluid. On 3/16/10 at 55,919 miles, I brought it to the dealer for inspection hoping to get Nissan to repair differential. Nissan refused since "too expensive, there isn't enough documentation and there wasn't a recall anyway", some of the dumber comments I've ever heard.
On 3/22/10 at 55,924 miles, I had 4x4 shop repair differential. Shop showed me Nissan had installed wrong bolts in differential. Shoulder on bolts was too short and only hit one side of spider gear assembly flange, with other side riding on the threads. Bolts eventually backed out causing spider gears to self-destruct. It cost me $2,100 to repair, existing ring and pinion were in good shape in spite of issues. I had replaced differential assembly with Detroit True Trac. Shop used bolts from another Dana differential and cut length to fit.

2007 Nissan Titan rear wheel axel seal is leaking oil on the brake pads. The emergency brake no longer works. I took the truck to the dealership at 32,000 miles and they replaced it. It started to leak again at 40,000miles. This truck is not a daily driver. The dealership said they will not fix it since they already fixed it once, even though it's still under warranty.

At 17 years old, I purchased a 2004 Titan XE crew cab used with 63,000 miles. Fourteen months have passed and I have had all sorts of trouble with it beginning with a computer module going out, which cost me over $500 out of pocket. Then this past Christmas, the park brake on the right side jammed while driving at 65 mph, destroying the entire park break assembly. Just that alone cost about $1000 to repair, and just the other day, the rear axle bearing went out costing me another $600 to repair. Now after all this, the engine is overheating because the water pump isn’t working properly and the radiator has developed a large leak which will cost another large chunk of money when I sent it to get repaired, and by the way, this truck only has 92,000 miles currently on it. I can definitely say this is my first Titan and it will be the last.

Last year my '06 Titan LE failed to pass inspection and Nissan replaced the Catalytic converter under warranty. This year it would not pass and Nissan replaced the other catalytic converter under warranty. Several weeks later, it was 4 quarts low oil. I filled and 3000 miles, later it was 4 qts low again. Took it to Nissan and after testing, they will replace the engine.

I bought a new 2004 Nissan Titan, which was the third new vehicle I bought from Sheehy Nissan in Glen Burnie, Maryland. This truck has been trouble from the very beginning. Brakes were taken from the Nissan Frontier and used to make the Titan, clearly, much too small for a truck that is double the size. I had the rear seals replaced on my own, since it was out of warranty. Now, the front differential is completely shot. I had it in 4-wheel drive maybe six times for maybe five miles its whole life. You tell me. Both dealer and Nissan have been terrible people to work with and customers are certainly placed into the back seat. Buyers beware of their products. They never last and nothing but problems. I feel used. So back to Ford I go, which has never given me problems. See ya, Nissan! Would not want to be ya, Nissan!

I have a 2005 Nissan Titan. I purchased brand new and have done all of the routine maintenance myself as the manual states. I have 36,900 miles on it and the engine has developed a valve tap and sometimes blue smoke at start up. The dealer told me that the valves need to be adjusted and said they did not see the blue smoke, but since it is an adjustment it is not covered under the power train warranty. I have spoken with mechanics and looked on a website that tell me there is no adjustment for the valves.
The reason Nissan of America also told me that they could not do anything for me was because I did not have receipts for all of the oil changes. The labor involved in this so called adjustment is 2140.00. I am very disappointed in Nissan. I don't think that a vehicle with only 36,000 miles should need such an adjustment. This does not say very much for the quality of Nissan products.

I purchased a used 2007 Nissan Titan with 39,000 miles in it. It had an excellent owner/repair history. After 1 year, at 64,000 miles, the starter and/or flywheel broke apart, while traveling down the highway in a remote area, on an out of town trip. Towing cost $275. The cost of repair was $1,100. I called Nissan dealers, and Nissan America. They all refused to do anything, stating it was out of warranty.

I complained to Nissan USA about the problem I am having with my 2005 Nissan Titan truck on 8 December 2009 and received a response on 10 December 2009. The response said someone would be in contact with me asap. I waited until January 6th 2010, then telephoned the consumer affairs division and experienced a very rude service person that said I would have to have the truck evaluated by Nissan service at my expense. I had two mechanics check it and both say the struts are worn out and that this is too soon. I now have 61,000 miles. I also have a low air light that will not go off for the 7th time.

I bought a Nissan Titan Crew Cab new in Feb. 2005. It is now almost 5 yrs old and has 46,000 miles. The alternator, battery, transmission control sensor, anti-lock brake sensor and the radio went out all at the same time. I have had no problems till now. The total bill is around $2500. Nissan agreed to pay $500 after I called and complained. My truck has been at the dealer for three weeks and still has not been fixed.

I bought a 2006 Titan LE in February of 09 with 80k miles on it, 1 owner. One thing I did not like was the windshield when it rains. That was fixed with some new windshield wipers and Rain-X. As a teenager, I hot rod my truck like no other, and I have 97k miles on it. I've gotten the oil changed within 5k miles between each other, put aftermarket 22s, and Flowmaster exhaust. Besides the windshield, I have no complaints. The people I know have no complaints either, and love the truck

I have owned my Nissan Titan truck (crew model 4x4) for three years. I have had three major expenses. The first was a replacement of the entire back axle with no accident (mileage under 36,000). This was an out of pocket expense since Nissan will not cover even though my truck was under warranty. Nissan's response was, "We can slip the cost as a onetime favor." My second repair was a replacement of the ignition valve. Once again, Nissan will not cover because my warranty has expired. It cost me hundreds of dollars. Two weeks after this incident, my struts, and shocks started leaking. I went to Nissan again and because my mileage was now 52,000+, Nissan will not cover either. Nissan has been very unreasonable and its customer service representatives rude over the phone. I will not buy or own a Nissan again after this.

I bought a Nissan Titan 2005 model, 48,000 miles. Both rear wheels were leaking around the rear axles so I took it back and the guy said he couldn't fix it without replacing both rear axles because they were bent. Lol, give me a break. So they then refused to work on it. They said they didn't have time and that it wasn't covered under warranty. This will be the last Nissan I'll buy - just due to the leaks and service!

I have had brakes done twice. You just don't put small brakes on a full size truck and also had some smog related issues that they couldn't seem to fix. I mean when you have to take something in that's new and you need that vehicle for work, it should be done right the first time. Finally, I just gave up and traded it in for an '08 model hoping they got all the quirks fixed. The brakes are a lot bigger and so far everything seems to be working fine except for I have a bad seal or boot in the front axle or some type of fluid all in the inside of the fender well. And also, this one doesn't have the push that my previous truck had. Sometimes when I go to pass, it does not kick down leaving me in a scary situation while passing another vehicle usually around 30 miles an hour, it varies. When you buy something new, it pretty much has something wrong with it no matter what brand, small or big. This is the Cadillac of all trucks in its class.

My 2004 Nissan Titan has been nothing but trouble. I am constantly replacing brakes, rotors, and even brake calipers. I have had to replace the rear axles and transfer case on the 4wd also. My wife is afraid to even drive it because of the brakes going out on it so often. For the past year, I have only driven it on Saturdays to the gas station to get gas for my 4-wheeler. It just sits in the driveway, while I pay a $430.00 payment each month. When my wife's car was in the garage, we rented a car because she was too afraid to drive the Titan. My insurance keeps going up on it because of the horrible safety rating. I can't even give the thing away. I tell everyone I know, stay away from the Titan, and Nissan for that matter. This is the last Nissan I will own, and I have owned 5, but no more.

I own a 2004 Nissan Titan. I take very good care of the truck and do regular maintenance. The truck has 116,000 miles now, but before it went out of the 100,000-mile warranty that I had purchased, I took it to a dealership in Las Vegas for a 100-point inspection. Before the inspection was performed, the first question that they asked was if the truck was still under warranty. So of course they said they found nothing wrong. The truck always had a ticking sound from the exhaust, but I was told that was normal. The first time I take to dealer after the warranty runs out for maintenance, they tell me that both of my manifolds are cracked and the cost of repair would be around $1900. The mechanic that worked on my truck told me that a lot of Titans had this problem and that they were reinforcing the new manifolds and that they are replacing a lot of them under warranty. I am sure my manifolds were cracked before the warranty expired and they would not tell me. I am 58 years old and have been driving trucks for about 35 years and have never had to replace a manifold much less both of them. I am very disappointed and will not buy another Nissan.

I brought my 2005 Nissan Armada in to have a tsb done for the ABS (a known problem). When I started to get failure in my brakes, Nissan did not have a solution for it. I bought a big brake kit for Stillen because of the saftey issues. This is one of the following reasons why I am writing this. Another reason was because a put a hole in the glovebox, aftermarket wheels, had a telephone wire run in my truck, had a aftermarket radio, etc.. Randy (service advisor) call me and stated there were on tsb for my SUV and that I do not know what I am talking about. He told me I have couple of problems. First I needed to have a brake fluid flush. Second I need to have a transmission flush. Last something had chew up my washer fluid bottle. I knew that that happened and had already had it checkout by my local shop. That was not good enough for Randy. Then he gave me a price to do the 2 flushes around $700.00. I told him I could spend that much and said I bought the truck to you for just the tsb. Again Randy said there are no tsb or recalls on my SUV. I told him I would call him back. I talk to my local shop and he told me that the two flushes would be less then $300.00. At this part I decide to get my Armada and call Nissan. When my father went do to the dealership to get my SUV, Randy got an attitude because I wasn't going to have them do the work. My father told him I had already contacted Nissan. Randy's reply was that not to do that and if I did he would void my warranty. When my father drop the truck off he signed a paper giving permission to anything up to $100.00 and then saw it with a $155.40 hand writing in and told that is what we owed. Needless to say they told me since I didn't do the bgrake flush they (the dealership)were not going to do any of the tsb or recalls. I pay the $155.40 and got my truck the following day and nothing was done with a void warranty stating nissan was not going to do any of the tsb or recalls. I feel that if there is a problems with the ABS and A/C before the reasons there gave me for not doing it. What is the difference the samething is happening either none of my add on or no add ons.

The following morning I started to drive the truck to the Nissan dealer Pete Mankins in Texarkana, TX. On the way there the truck started missing and the check engine light came on flashing. I pulled over and shut the vehicle down and checked the owners manual regarding the flashing check engine light. The manual stated this flashing check engine was a low speed misfire and that the vehicle needed to be check it went on to state the VECHILE COULD BE DRIVEN AND DID NOT NEED TO BE TOWED provided the following condition were met: No faster than 45 MPH and no heavy load. I was already on a back road where the 45 MPH was not a player because that was the posted speed limit and the truck was empty except for me and an overnight bag so I drove the 15 miles to the dealer. WHAN I STARTED THE TRUCK BACK UP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON.
At the Mankins dealership the mechanic hooked the vehicle to the computer and told me other than the low speed misfire there were no other codes in the memory and I was told by him I should not have driven the vehicle with the check engine light flashing that it could cause damage to the catalytic converter. I told him it stated in the owner's manual I could drive it I even showed him what it said he told me, you should not drive one when the engine is missing
He stated that he felt the problem with the RPM was the fuel pump because they had already replaced two 04 Titan fuel pumps. They did not have one in stock and would have to get one. I then rented a vehicle and continued on my trip home. I called back several days later and was told the problem was not the pump but that two of the catalytic converters were damaged (one had a hole and the other was plugged). That they had the exhaust manifold unhooked and the truck ran fine, cost of repairs would be $2400.00. I told them to leave it alone and I would pick it up.
I drove the truck home with the exhaust unhooked and it still would not rev above 3500 RPM. I then took it to Marty's Muffler repair shop in Jacksonville, AR. that replaced two of the catalytic (cost of 402.00). He checked the other two converters and stated one was good and the other was blown out but that none of them were plugged or had a hole in it. Marty also stated the reason this happens is a misfire or low fuel pressure which causes the converters to burn up. I then tried the truck out after these repairs and it still would not rev above 3500 RPM.
I took it to North Point Nissan in North Little Rock, AR. Jerry in the service department said the fuel pump was bad it would only put out 34 PSI at idle and the min should be 52 PSI (Trent the service manager at Pete Mankins stated it was not the fuel pump) and both of the original front catalytic converters were failing caused by driving the truck with the flashing check engine light (misfiring). Cost of repair was 3100.00 for fuel pump and exhaust converters. He also stated they had a problem with the 04 fuel pumps. I then called Steve at the Little Rock Nissan dealer and was told they had already replaced several 04 Titan Fuel pumps. Nissan should be aware of this problem because of the number of 04 fuel pumps that have been replaced.
I also contacted Nissan (file number 6258543) and received no help other than being told to "Have a nice day!" I was told by the rep Mallory H. ext. 47101 at Nissan that the manual meant the flashing check engine light meant the vehicle could be driven if that was the only problem and I had another problem besides the flashing light (the motor wouldn't rev above 3500 RPM). NO WHERE DOES IT STATE THAT IN THE OWNERS MANUAL! Base on the information supplied by Nissan in their 2004 Titan Owner's Manual I did damage to my truck that needed not to have happen, I have State Farm Insurance which has a tow provision and that I could have had the truck towed to the dealer at no cost to me and no other damage would have been done to my truck other than the fuel pump replacement cost of $616.00 (when the Check engine flashing light came on the first time).
The real problem with this is I have searched the internet and have found dozen of incidents where this has happen to other owners and the problem seems to stem from a fuel pump problem. In some cases the entire engine had to be replaced when the catalytic exploded upon the raw fuel from the misfire reaching the converter, sending pieces of the converter into the engine cylinder. Nissan designed the converters on the exhaust manifold which requires the converter and the manifold to be replaced when the converter goes out, at an additional cost to the consumer.
If this had happened on a two lane highway and I was passing a semi with another vehicle coming head on and my truck had failed to accelerate due to this problem there could have been several fatalities. This is a problem that Nissan needs to take care of before someone is seriously injured or killed! I have already spent 402.00 I am waiting to get my truck back from North Point whic will cost $616.00 for the fuel pump. I did not have them put the front converters on due to the cost $2400.00 for that repair.

I have a 2005 Nissan Titan which has a sprayed in bedliner and rail system. The bedliner is bubbling in multiple spots. Nissan has 3 technical service bulletins about this issue, NTB05002(a), NTB05-044, NTB05083. This is affecting model years 2004, 2005, and 2006. After doing some research online at several Nissan Titan forums and talking with some other Titan owners, Nissan has been repairing these issues. One person stated that a Nissan service tech had told them that Nissan started using a different material for the bedliner in 2005 because of the issues.
I contacted Nissan Customer Service corp office to see what Nissan was doing. They said take it to the dealer for inspection adn they will make the judgement call. I took it to Autoway Nissan in Clearwater, FL, where I bought the truck. They gave it a quick once over and checked a recall on it while I was there. The said the truck was in great shape and told me of some routine maintenance I should probably need at my mileage range. They claimed they were taking pictures that they were sending to corporate to see what they wanted to do. Funny, corp said they would make the judgement call.
Anyway, the tech tells me I was ok on the recall and Nissan probably wasn't going to do anything about the bedliner. Already balking at the service, I knew I was probably going to have to fight Nissan about this. He saif they would call in a week. I'm still waiting for a call from the dealer. Customer service finally called me back, and let me know they were sorry but they weren't going to do anything because of the mileage.
This is a great ploy to get out of servicing their problems, by pointing out your mileage and by not issuing a recall and releasing TSBs instead. This is just like the problem with the brakes which they really didn't want to fix either, they release TSBs (technical service bulletins) to get around it. If you're smart enough to do some research and find out about these, you can sometimes get them to do the fixes. Well they so no go with my bedliner because it's over the mileage warranty. I told them that was bull, it's not a mileage issue, it's bad materials and workmanship, and they know it because of the 3 TSBs they've had to release. And the bubbling I have is worse than anything mentioned in their TSBs.
They tried to balk at replacing the black decals between the front and back side windows because mine got very hot and guey, and tore. At first they were, "oh we don;t have problem with that." Next thing I know, "Oh yeah, we areseeing a lot of that out west." The replacement stickers didn;t even work right and they ended up spray painting it instead. They need to fess up with the bedliner problem and fix them all, regardless of mileage. As it continues to bubble, the bedliner will eventually start peeling off which will in turn lead to rusting of the physical bed, if it hasn;t already. From what I've heard, this could be a $2500 repair if I have to take care of it myself. And it's not something I did to the truck.

The Nissan Titan had underengineered brakes that would warp rather quickly. Nissan stepped up and redesigned the brake system and installed an entirely new brake system in my truck at no charge. This included new pads, rotors and calipers on all 4 wheels. Now, 9k miles later and the new brakes are warped. Dealer made note of the problem yet Nissan will not fix them. They say wear and consumable items are only warranteed for 12k/12 months. Well it's been less than that!

2004 Nissan Titan: I was driving down the highway when all of a sudden all the lights on the dashboard lit up and then the truck quit. Nissan service found that the tailpipe section after the muffler fell off and melted the wiring harness and shock absorber. Nissan service indicates that this is not covered under the warranty. This seems like a manufacturers defect. I have read of others having the same exact problem. The truck has been in the shop for two weeks. The cost is going to be over $3,000 to replace all the damaged wires, sensors, internal computer, and shocks that melted.

so i collected all the ones i could get and one of the places i get the oil change from does not keep files past a month, just your last chang and the next change. so i faxed it to the and later that day warrenty had denied me. ok i still under 36,000 miles and the truck is 2 years old and plus i have the extended warrenty 100,000mile -10 yrs. so whats the reason for warrenty if they dont live up to it? whats next what should i do?

On 7/10/05 I leased a 2005 Nissan Titan from Stanley Nissan in Fairbanks at the above address. The vehicle I was looking at had a special package that included a GPS and XM radio. The pkg increased the price by approx. 4,500 dollars. I verified that the gps and xm radio would not work here in fairbanks because of satalite availability. I was told by the manager at that time that he had contacted someone higher up in Nissan who sent him the unit that it would be working by December. I leased the vehicle with that understanding. I ask periodically throughout my 3 yr lease period when would the satalite be available. I was told the first couple of years that it was coming.
The last year I was told that they had upgraded to another system. My lease ended 7/10/08 and I asked for some redress for the equipment I paid for and never received. I have only burned more fuel hauling it around. Nissan ran my request up through the commities and finaly came up with their final offer which was the price of a portable navagation system of 500 dollars. They called a goodwill offer. I have refused that offer.
I have paid for something that I didn't receive. The economic damage is the difference in the payment amount for 36 months for the package that included the GPS and XM radio. I would be satisfied if they would deduct the price I was charged for the equipment that still doesn't work from the buyout price. I want to purchase the vehicle if they will treat me fairly.

This truck has been a lot of trouble and Im still not sure theres not a problem with rear end and breaks. Any ideas or suggestions? The truck is still in Cumberland after 2 weeks. Also has had to have new tires very early in my opionion. Have been without my truck on several occasions. Had to pay for someone to come and tow my trailor home from Cumberland. The estimated bill for the wiring problem is at around 1400.

I had just bought a used 2004 Nissan Titan with only 30,000 miles on it. My husband was just driving back home and the tailpipe fell off. There was no apparent reason why the tailpipe fell off; my husband didn't run anything over and the road was smooth. The hot tailpipe then melted the rear wiring harness and this resulted in the ECM and mass airflow sensor to short out. The extended warranty will not cover this because the exhaust is considered to be a regularly maintained part (like brakes and filters!!!) Doesn't make much sense since the exhaust doesn't require regular maintenance.

I have a very expensive SUV that has every probleum you can think of.(2004)Nissan Armada. I was told that again our car needed a 1400.00 repair due to a part that was updated, not recalled. although when this part failed it caused totaL LOSS OF POWER and that could end in an accident or even death to one of us. How do I get this labeled right so I am not responsiable for this type of repair.

I have a 2004 Nissan Titan S.E. 4 W.D. It has had a front end shake sense it was new that transfers to the steering wheel . The tires would not stay in contact with the road after encountering uneven road surfaces ! I have now fixed this problem ! ! ! I had my service manager install Bilstein shocksF4BE5B624HO for the rear and F4BE5B623HO for the front. We now have better control , handling and a smoother ride ! ! ! The front end alignment must also be redone. JOE

I have a 2006 Titan (16,000 miles), which I love, but I noticed that I keep getting paint scratches that should not be there. I really take care of this vehicle. I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 120,000 miles that has been off road that has fewer scratches than the Titan. Same with my 2001 Honda. After reading the forum posts, it seems as if Nissan has a problem with the overall paint job on the Titans. Does anyone have any suggestions? I suggest that we call the automotive and general media (newspaper consumer advocates) if Nissan does not offer a solution. I have also had the recurring brake problem with my truck. I had the service bulletin change out of brake drums, rotars, etc. aftger going through the 3 times of service work. Now I ma having a problem with the left from brake.
They are telling me it is a different problem and not under warranty. It does the shuddering, vibrating and over-heating. Last month when I took it in, they replaces shims, this month when the exact same thing happened, they tell me it is the caliper sticking. Est. $800+ cost. This is still a brake system problem. I am now worried if it will continue and when will the other wheel start up.
I do not feel safe driving this vehicle anymore. I have been lucky that I have been close to the dealership and able to get there without loss of the braking system. I may not be that lucky next time.

My Nissan Titan and thousands of others has the factory installed truck bed liner bubbling off. After three months of work with Dealer and Nissan the have not fixed it. They say the problem is so huge and they only have one vender in Miami to do the fix, they cannnot get to mine. They promised a fix in one month, it has been three and counting. They have defective truck bed liners and are not stepping up to the problem, plus we paid $1,000 extra for a special cargo system that requires the bed to not be defective.

I purchased the truck in April 2005. Months afterwards I received a recall notice regarding the defective rotors. When I had 7,500 miles on the vehicle I started to experience the brake judder with temporary loss of control at freeway speeds. I had the vehicle serviced at the local dealership and have had no problems until this last weekend. I was driving in a residential neigborhood, at slow speeds, thankfully. When I came to a stop sign I applied the brakes and the pedal went right to the floor. I then heard a clicking noise in the dash and then a quick shudder of the suspension, which I assume may have been something to do with the ABS. I immediately took the vehicle to the dealer. I was called two days later and was told that there was no problem with the brakes and that I should pick up the vehicle. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and requested assistance. I heard back from them the next day, with the same story as the dealership. This all occured over 100 miles from my home. The vehicle is still sitting at the dealer, 100 miles from home. I've informed them that I refuse to put myself or others at risk because of an obvious defect in their product. I will not pick up this vehicle until they have located and corrected the problem. I am still researching the issue, any advice would be helpful.

I purchased an '04 Nissan Titan new. I started noticing a noise while pressing my brakes. On 06/7/05 I took the truck to Superior Nissan about the brake problem. I was told nothing was wrong and they applied Stop Squeal to the brakes. On 8/24/05 I took the truck to a tire service shop to have a flat tire repaired. They informed me that the brake pads had worn away and was starting to damage the rotor. They told me I should have had a squealing noise to warn me that the brakes were worn. I told them I did but Nissan said there was nothing wrong.
By this time the mileage on the truck had surpassed the warranty on brake pads. So I had no choice but to have the independent service center repair the brakes. About a week after that, I got a letter in the mail informing me of a brake recall on the Titan. I called Nissan and they did replace the brakes, but I told them about taking it in prior to this and being turned away by Nissan, then having to pay out of my pocket for the damage.
Customer service said they would reimburse me for the money if I provided them with copies of receipts, proof of payment and registration. I faxed all of this to them. A month or so went by and I called them. They said the proof of payment was illegible and to resend. I did so and again, month or so went by and I had to call them back. They told me they to send it again, which I did. Now several months have passed and I haven't seen a reimbursement check and am getting no response from Nissan. I am just sick of dealing with them.
Each time I call, I get someone who talks to me like they are a robot, ensuring me they will take care of it. But they never do, they don't call, I have to call them. I am so frustrated, there's no one to call. I am always directed to customer service robots who do absolutely nothing. What can I do but be a victim to an enormous company like Nissan?

Problem with Nissan Titan 2004. We were traveling in our Nissan Pickup truck w/approx. 28,000 miles on it, when my husband attempted to brake, the vehicle began swaying violently out of control, the brake pedal went to the floor and we proceeded to turn 180 degrees facing north on the shoulder of the southbound lane. We were towing our Jayco 23' travel trailer; the trailer jack-knifed and hit our vehicle.
NYS Police called a tow truck because our vehicle's brake pedal went to the floor and was not driveable. In the fall Nissan sent a letter to truck owners regarding a brake judder condition extending the warranty period. Upon receipt of this letter, we requested that our local dealer address the issue; we were told until we experienced the judder problem, they would not address it. Since that time, we have had our tires rotated, oil changed, and NYS Inspection in December.
Nissan was aware of an existing problem and had ample opportunity to repair it! We are so very lucky to be alive! There is no recall on this vehicle! We fear that someone will get maimed or killed.

Have a 2005 Nissan Titan SE 4X4, purchased in March of this year. Had problems with the back up sensors not working. The vehicle was taken to Crown Nissan in Greenville, SC twice for repairs and the repairs were completed on the second visit.
Subsequently, due to the back-up sensors failing, I hit a tree backing up. The damage to my vehicle was repaired and paid for by me, a cost of $662.58. I have asked Nissan to reimburse me for this cost as it is a direct result of a malfunction of the vehicle. Erica with Nissan has told me that they accept no responsibility.

I bought a 2004 Nissan Titan. Back in Nov. of 2004. This truck did not have the towing package, but it did have a tow hitch on it. I've had 3 rear differentials replaced and when the 4th differential blew Nissan gave me a brand new 2005 Nissan Titan. The first differential on the 04 blew at 6,000 miles and then each differential after that took about 3,000 mile to blow (so at roughly 9,000, and 12,000 then was given the new truck).
After I received my 2005 Nissan Titan (this truck did have the Tow Package on it) I put roughly 7500 miles on it and the Rear Differential then blew in this truck. Nissan repaired once again and when I told them I did not want the truck back they told me I had no choice and I would have to go to lemon law arbitration (which I can't do because it is a new vehicle). The only items I've towed with either vehicle is a 5,000lb. U-haul and a 3,500lb. snowmobile tailer. The truck's towing capacity is 9,400 lbs.
Nissan has some very large Quality Control issues at their factories and they are not owning up to it. I now own a $34,000 truck that I can't get rid of without taking a large loss. I just received the truck back and have roughly 9,200 miles on it. I am waiting for next rear differential to break in the next 1,000-2,000 miles. Nissan did take the 2004 Titan back as defective. It was returned about 3 months ago for my new 2005. The old Titan is still sitting in my dealership's parking lot waiting for Nissan to come and pick-up. Wouldn't it make sense for Nissan to send out their R&D team to get it and find out what the problem is.

I bought a Titian truck on January 31st of this year. I started having problems with the brakes last month (June). The dealership (Hunt Nissan) had my truck for ten days. When I got the truck back the emergence brake did not work and the brakes were mushy. There needs to be a recall on the 2005 Nissan Titian because the break system is very dangerous!
I traded the Titian on July 11, 2005 because I didn't feel the truck was safe. Something needs to be done! There are many trucks out there with this problem. So many trucks have this problem, that the dealerships are having trouble getting parts. The problem is a three stage fix. Why is this not in the news?? Why haven't we been informed about this problem? I am incredibly disappointed with the way Nissan has handled this problem. My family’s safety is more important than their bottom line!

Bought a Nissan 04 Titan truck 9 months ago. Truck has been in shop 4 times for brakes not working correctly. The whole front end shakes when brakes are used. I explained that the truck was very unsafe to drive -- their comment was not their problem, they did not have the equipment or parts to fix.
Buying the vehicle for recreational use of pulling camper. The past two weekends we were scheduled to go camping but with the brakes on the truck it is not safe to pull camper. It is unsafe to drive at all, but it is the only transportation.
