Kawasaki KLX110-A4 Off-Road Motorcycle

December, 10, 2004
Kawasaki is recalling its 2005 model KLX110-A4 off-highway motorcycle. On some units, the rear shock absorber may have been assembled with an incorrect o-ring, allowing fluid to leak from the shock. Fluid loss from the shock can compromise the shock's damping characteristics, which can render the motorcycle unstable creating a potential for an injury or death.

PhotoThe recalled Kawasaki motorcycles are 2005 model KLX110 off-highway "minicycles." They are small-sized motorcycles intended for use by minors and adults. They are green in color, and have "Kawasaki" and "KLX110" identification on the sides of the fuel tank.

Consumers should stop using the motorcycles immediately and contact their Kawasaki dealer to schedule an appointment for a free replacement of the rear shock.

Consumer Contact: For more information, contact your Kawasaki dealer or call Kawasaki toll-free at 866-802-9381 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday and/or on the web address www.kawasaki.com.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
