Alzheimers Disease - Index

It may be the most feared disease of modern times -- Alzheimer's, the dread brain deterioration that robs its victims not only of intellectual and physical vigor but of their very selves. Victims, usually the elderly, gradually but inexorably lose their memory and end their days in a haze rarely broken.

Researchers are hoping to find a cure -- or at least a more effective treatment -- before the enormous Baby Boom generation hits old age but time is running out.
