I participated in what I believed was a legitimate optimization marketing for Travelzoo. I completed the required work, but I have not been paid for over a year. After writing a review, an official representative stated that they do not employ anyone to do optimizing marketing. However, the next day the working platform manager contacted me to help me withdraw my funds. Due to a mistake I made during the withdraw process, my money got blocked, and have not receive them yet. I have been told that my money are still available, but the manager who was helping me is AWOL.

I recently wrote a letter to Customer Service about money missing. I just received a note that it was my annual $40 membership. I want to extend an apology if I offended anybody, but I went on the website to see was this documented into my account and it was not. I also went on PayPal to see why it was took out and I had no answer so I just posted to talk to Customer service about this incident well, it was for my membership.
I understand now and thank you for sending the post. I would greatly appreciate if you could send it just a little bit earlier when you take it out of someone’s account that way they won’t be making false accusations. My apologies and thank you. Thank you for your promptness and answering my email. You guys are number one.

I became a member about a month ago or two I use the PayPal account to join and last night I received $40 out of my account from this company. I’m going investigate a little bit more to see why $40 was took out of my account when I purchased nothing.

Be careful if you sign up for an introductory trial. I did not cancel before the auto renewal (my mistake with the holiday and all) but unlike any company I've ever dealt with auto renewals, they will not refund the yearly charge even if you miss it by a couple days. They will not even offer a prorated refund. This is really poor customer service and I believe will cost the company more money in the long run since people would be unlikely to book trips in the future after experiencing this. Not a good way to treat potential customers.

I've been doing Travelzoo trips for years going to Singapore, Beijing, Xian, London, Paris and everything has been top notch, the flights were great, hotels excellent as advertised, 4 star. Tour guides were super. The prices are pro-rated per date and departure site and the low prices advertised are for a specific date and location. To choose your preferences there is a bump in cost but the deals are still remarkable.

I’ve used TravelZoo in the past and appreciated how it tracked flight pricing for my specific flights, and it was free. This time, I signed up and paid the fee, but I have no idea how to track flights. The site is not user-friendly, and at this point, I have absolutely no use for TravelZoo. Unfortunately, I was too late to cancel, and now I am stuck with it until June 2026.

Before even looking for the tour and price they want us to buy membership. What a scam. Why would anyone buy membership for a travel website? Easy way of getting money from people without any deals. Not worth the hassle.

I am very disappointed in Travelzoo and how they handled my concern. I canceled my account and decided to not be a member. They still took my $40 for the membership fee that stated I would not use or be a part of and when I immediately contacted them they were not helpful, they would not refund my money and did not even consider how I felt. I am very disappointed in their practices and the fact that they won’t consider a one time courtesy considering I do not need their services and barely looked when I was using the trial because they did not have what I needed. The management is horrible, customer service is just as bad. For a company to make you stay with them is insane, rude and unethical. I see why they have so many complaints. I am filing a dispute not only with my bank but several other places I plan to complain as well so no one else will get sucked into this! This company had potential until this experience. They need to do better!

I bought the membership and have gotten some great deals on flights with no complaints. While many on this platform seem upset, I highly recommend, at least from my experience. The $40 is great value relative to the $500+ that I've saved so far.

Have been a member of Travelzoo for years. Always get spectacular deals no one else offer. The money you save on one trip pays for years of subscription rates. This is a no Brainer. Other travel websites give discounted rates. Travelzoo gives discounted trips.

Travelzoo advertised trips from a travel agency that was (and still is) engaged in SCAMMING customers. I was excited to find a great deal on Travelzoo and purchased what looked like an amazing trip from UTO Vacation in the amount of $2,994, then UTO canceled my trip and would not issue a refund. I assumed Travelzoo would have vetted the travel agency it was promoting. As the saying goes... "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is", and I would add to that: "even if you found it on Travelzoo." I can never trust anything I find on Travelzoo again. Bummer!!

I accepted the $1 for 30 days offer to evaluate the company. I decided within a couple of weeks it was not for me. During the trial period I had a series of medical issues arise which left me unable to cancel within the 30 day time limit. I sent them an email on day 35 explaining my situation (after they'd taken the $40 from my account) and they said they couldn't make an exception and wouldn't give me a refund. This might be to the letter of the law, but it seems pretty sketchy to me. I hope they enjoy their 40 bucks. I'd avoid this group if I were you. If they are this petty about a membership fee my guess is they'd be equally sketchy about their "deals". I suppose I should be glad it only cost me a year's membership and not thousands on a bad vacation.

We purchased a Travelzoo voucher for a stay at Cignella Resort in Italy. Unfortunately the accommodations were not as described in the voucher and the services provided were not as promised. We have used Travelzoo before but this experience has shown us that we cannot trust the advertised information. We did contact TravelZoo, who in turn contacted the resort about our complaints. The resort stated that they had provided all the services and that we made no complaints while we were there! Nothing was further from the truth and the stay was so bad, we left a day early and did complete our stay. Be sure you know what you are buying if you decide to buy a TravelZoo voucher.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with Travelzoo. They hired me for an online job, made me put in time and effort, and then completely refused to pay me the $13,800 I was owed! At first, everything seemed professional—they assigned tasks and promised payment upon completion. But once the work was done, they started ignoring my messages and making excuses. After weeks of trying to get my money, it became clear that they had no intention of paying me. This company is completely untrustworthy. They exploit workers, steal time and labor, and refuse to take responsibility. If you’re considering working with them, DON’T! You’ll only end up frustrated and unpaid. Save yourself the trouble and avoid Travelzoo at all costs.

I have been a member for 6 years. It was always free, but 2025 they began charging an annual fee. I purchased my first voucher of the year, and immediately had problems as the business was not able to offer all the amenities listed. I requested a refund because the business could not provide the experience I paid for. Though past the refund date, advertising amenities not available should definitely result in a refund. All management has refused refund and I will be having a lawyer send false advertising and false business practice proceedings to Travelzoo. I’m beyond disgusted.

WOULD NOT USE THEM, better deals elsewhere with better customer service. Very Ambiguous terms and the read cancellation policy carefully .Will not refund money or give a credit to use elsewhere. Travelzoo states 14 days refund unless made a reservation, then due to hotels policy. Hotel policy state cancellation with no penalty if cancel 7 days prior. Cancelled 2 months before, Hotel states contact Travelzoo for refund. Travelzoo states past 14 days so no refund. First they tell me hotel already got the money but later a Supervisor states Travelzoo has the money and Voucher still good but have to use at same hotel, no Credit to use on an other Travelzoo deal. So stuck going to same place even though they have the money.

I signed up, paid for the subscription and couldn't sign in. I couldn't reach anyone, just paid for a year and they wouldn't allow me to log in. Don't waste your money. This place is a scam. They suck.

This site is a scam as they charged me a $1 when I joined and mentioned that the booking can be cancelled anytime, they have now charged me a $45 yearly subscription and they say it had to be cancelled within 14 days, the booking was not even used by me and was cancelled as I got a better deal from Booking.com, Pls do not subscribe to this site else they are going to charge you irrespective you use their services or not and also not refund the money.

I have used Travelzoo for years and agreed to pay the $40 for a membership. I have always been pleased, if not ecstatic, about some deals I have purchased. In the past year or so, however, they are doing their best not to disclose taxes and “destination fees” upfront. For instance, it gives you a total to pay (usually enticing), then the benefits like a $200 resort credit. Then, once purchased, the hotel sends its invoice, and the extra taxes and “destination fees” are included as payable at the hotel. My last two purchases had taxes and fees that were 2/3 more than the resort credit! I went back and found the fees hidden deep in the Travelzoo deal specifics. I know about buyer beware, but it is obvious the company is trying to bury the true costs, which is shady and cheap.
To be fair, I cancelled one deal immediately and was paid back in full in a week. I’m still deciding whether to keep the other, as it is still $300 cheaper than booking anywhere else. It’s the principle at this point: if Travelzoo is proud of its deal, then it should include all taxes in the bold print. I think California even has a new law about this. I probably won’t renew because of this sleazy business practice.

A scam operation. Don't join it. They promised a refund if I was unhappy with the service and failed to follow through with it. Use their promotions if you find one you like, but don't subscribe to the membership. I'm stuck for another year.

I used to use this site all the time. Now they are charging to use it and get the deals. It is so complicated to get through. Not to mention what a scam that it gets to the paid subscription and you can’t get out of it. It also shows offers but when you click on it, it becomes a bait and switch. They don’t show anything for how to get the deal and it at a minimum almost doubles. Crappy business. I suggest to find another site to find your vacation.

I tried to cancel my membership at the end of the trial and because I was 4 minutes after the charge, they refused to do anything which forced me into a paid year membership I won’t use. Sharing this to let you know that the customer service I experienced was not customer friendly and the experience made me glad I have not booked any trips with them. Now reading these reviews I would be highly concerned. There are so many companies out there that are willing to work with customers- I definitely will be giving my business to those companies instead and letting others know I would never recommend Travelzoo for anything.

I recently considered becoming a Travelzoo member but found the entire experience frustrating and not worth the hassle. The $40 membership fee seemed reasonable at first, but after exploring what was actually available, I quickly realized it was a waste of money. Many of the advertised deals were either misleading or had such limited availability that they were nearly impossible to book. The fine print on most offers made it clear that they were only valid during off-peak times or required additional fees that weren’t obvious upfront. Of course, the fee was nonrefundable and nobody was willing to help.
Customer service was another major disappointment. I had questions before committing, but getting a clear response was like pulling teeth. There is no way to communicate online. When I finally reached someone, they were dismissive and unhelpful. If this is how they treat potential customers, I can’t imagine what it’s like for people who actually need help after booking. The website itself also felt clunky, making it difficult to navigate or find real value in the deals. Between the lack of transparency, poor customer service, and the frustration of finding usable deals, I can confidently say that the Travelzoo membership is not worth it. Save your $40 and look elsewhere for travel discounts.

Travelzoo's partner Travelodeal is a scam. DO NOT USE EITHER. When Travelodeal never provided me a full itinerary with confirmation numbers after I paid $2249 for a trip to Cairo, I reported this this Travelzoo who did nothing. 2 days after there were 3 fraudulent charges thru the same airline and Apple Pay on my Visa. Visa allowed this to happen and paid that fraudsters. DO NOT USE!

This is a Scam Company. They had a hotel sign me up for this scam company without my knowledge, when I stayed there a year ago with an automatic renewal. Called immediately and was told that my renewal was cancelled. Then two weeks later Travel Zoo charges for me for the renewal and refuses to remove the charge. I instituted a fraud investigation with my American Express and will also probably end up suing Travel Zoo for fraud with punitive damages of $10,000 at our local Small Claims Court. Scammers everywhere!

Very sneaky with their auto-renewals. They did not send any letter in the mail for the auto-renewal coming up, instead it was just an e-mail a week prior covered under all their other marketing emails they spam you with daily. They refused to refund even though the withdrawal was done that same week. Would not recommend.

If you say anything they dislike they will delete it and then ban your access to say anything. Another lady commented this on a post, so a different member called them attention seeking. I replied to that lady saying her comment could be the same as the same thing so I now have been suspended from posting for “being rude”. Funny how that works. They aren’t worth it. The deals are that that great and now want you to pay them just to see the deals.

I booked a vacation through Travelzoo and less than a week before I was booked to leave it was cancelled. Since I used Travelzoo because NerdWallet and AARP gave them good recommendations, I no longer trust their brands at all either.

We recently traveled for our honeymoon to the The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort! The experience was unbelievable amazing! The staff: Laurent, Deepak, AJ, Tulsi, Chef Fahdrul, Ida and truly all the staff were superb. Service at this resort is at another level, it's a family affair and they would do whatever is necessary to make you feel at home.
We had a hard time leaving this resort and we want to go back for sure! There are many resorts in the Maldives but this was at another level from receiving you at the airport, taking you to their lounge, securing all transfers, stay at the hotel itself, the villas are spacious and beautiful, the setup upon arrival in our room was amazing beautifully decorated, champagne and desserts. We chose a beachfront villa which had a private pool, it was so so beautiful. The meals were amazing, they had everything and if they didn't they made it for you. They made an apple pie for my husband that wasn’t in the menu!
The Spa is like no other, all glass view of the ocean! We got a couples massage and they made our names on the floor out of cloves, it was beautiful. We purchased a honeymoon dinner by the ocean. It came with its own butler, the food and ambiance was amazing!!! We had Hi Tea with Executive Chef! Amazing spread, he even added sliders of our favorite burger, tuna and cucumber sandwiches, ratatouille and what can I say about the dessert? Totally amazing! We had late dinner that night.

I booked my trip from Infinity Worldwide Vacations recommended by Travelzoo, I trusted this website for many vacations in the past but never had bad experience. I suggest, please don't promote these shady websites. My trip is in 5 days to Italy, but I have no confirmations of flight or hotels or train bookings whatsoever. My wife is calling their office consistently for past 3 days, and every time they are promising to wait until 9pm that night, and expect the confirmation emails. But we are not receiving any emails.
Today was the extreme. She called 3 times, and last time called at 8:30pm. Brain mentioned that he is able to see the bookings online, and it surely going to come via email in 30 minutes. She called back at 9:15pm, and she had been put in automated queue and then finally got the message that office is closed. We are really getting worried about our trip. We have booked Europe trips with other travel agencies in past, but never had to wait this late for getting confirmations. That too, when they have it on your system, but it's just we haven't seen it yet.
