We stopped at Paul's Valley Oklahoma Rodeway Inn. Got a hotel room. It smelled clean. That one wasn't bad. Check for bed bugs. Our TV and internet did not work. Call them. He switch this to another room. Ohm. I open the door. Cigarette burns in the comforter. I pulled back the comforter a live maggot was crawling across the white bed sheet. I called him and I know him have it. He give us a handicap room then he said, "I'm sorry." Didn't offer a priest day. Didn't give half of my money back.

This is going to the bed as Business Bureau. We're from Iowa. This is Oklahoma a ** kidding me. The shower for a handicap person where you hang it up they don't add the piece to hang it up. Then they give you wash rags and towels every 3 days. Are you freaking kidding me. I should have known better when we walked in and the desk clerk said, "Go kill that mouse." and staring at his. The kids are freaking. Don't ever stay at this place 'cause I'm turning you in pissed off. So the next morning we decide to do the breakfast the orange juice machine was broke.

In bathroom had to use hand towels to dry off because the main towel was dirty used and just hung back up. Room stunk like cigarette smoke. Could not sleep because of the smell. Dirty scum on walls and shower. Went to use the hot tub. Very filthy. Did not use. Overall everything in the motel was very very filthy. Parking lot had garbage. Cigarette butts all over the blacktop.

I am a frequent hotel traveler and this is BY FAR the WORST hotel I have EVER been to. I am a housekeeping manager and I know when a room is clean. This one was NOT. I checked in at 6pm last night, tired from my flight and ready for a shower and nice sleep, the area alone was shady as well as the people, I got into my room and there were dead crickets and human fingernails on the floor, the smell was horrid, the lamps weren’t working, I pulled back the covers on the bed and THERE WAS HUGE BLOOD STAINS ALL OVER THE FITTED SHEET. I WAS LIVID. NO EXAGGERATION. Not a drop or even a speck. Huge blood stains. It looked like someone had urinated blood all over the bedding.

This is supposed to be a CLEAN room I am checking into, it looked as if someone walked in, “tidied” up the room so it “looked” somewhat presentable, and walked out. I went to the desk, I was furious and explained the situation and even told the front desk agent he could go and take a look. I actually told him that he should. He seemed nonchalant, like this happened all the time. He offered another room but I was disgusted and felt my skin crawl, I just wanted to leave. I demanded my money back and he refunded it but am not able to receive it back until Friday. I spent almost $200 on this so called “clean room”, it was all the money I had and had to sleep in my car last night because they couldn’t do anything more for me. Now I have no money until Friday and have to sleep in my car the rest of the week all because this disgusting hotel couldn’t clean its rooms properly, or at all and couldn’t refund my money sooner or offer a solution. Thanks!

I had reserved a room online for the north Encinitas location and came to from over 2 hours away for my son's court date the next morning. I had been crying most of the day and night before. As it was my birthday. I had 2 backpacks and my purse. But out of the car went into the front office like Frankie drop me off left. The clerk, Chelsea, asking my name I gave it to her and as I approach the counter she stated "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone and I'm refusing you service." I asked what her reasons were, and she abruptly stated after a few minutes trying to get her to tell me, that they do not rent rooms to go get it. I told her that's a good policy to have and asked what did that have to do with me?

She proceeded to pick up the phone and stated I needed to leave the property immediately she was calling the police now mind you all I had done at this point was walk through the door and said the backpack down grab my wallet and walk to the counter. Now mind you I work in the mental Health recovery field, I am a part of Celebrate Recovery and the mental health initiative Champion for our church. I just wearing a casual but professional looking blouse and ankle length skirts with a lightweight sweater over my shoulders.

Remind you as a mental health diagnosis of ADHD and I can't sit still can't stand still you know. I try not to move but it does not always work out. She stated that she was a manager and the owner of the building. She was very rude about the whole thing. And it was very embarrassing. To me an inconvenience. Because now I had to look for another hotel and ask my friend to come back and get me when he was on his way to an appointment. I will pray for her but I want to report her previous because apparently this is not the first time she's been like that.

When I arrived the girl at the front desk was on her cell phone, then could not figure out how to pull up my reservation. 20 min later I got to my room. It was a nonsmoking room that obviously was not. The bed to sit on was ok. The only positive I could say was the cleaning lady. I had dropped a 20 and she made sure it was delivered back to me.

After a long day at the Hershey RV Show, we were exhausted and just wanted a nice, CLEAN place to rest for the night before we headed home in the morning. This was the most awful hotel I've ever experienced! After charging us a "REDUCED Rate" of $127.00 (Originally $175.00) we proceeded to our room. Well, the room was painted this God awful lime green, no decor in the room at all, curtains were falling off the window, wallpaper was chipping off the walls. The walls were all marked up with pencil and pen marks, the bathroom towel bar was broken off and a sharp piece was left on the wall which anyone could have gotten caught on and hurt.

The light fixture in the bathroom had TWO lights... but only ONE cover over one light, the bathroom door was a pocket door that had a hole notched out to open it; there was an ironing board (but NO IRON), the tissue box by the bathroom sink was totally rusted; and we were AFRAID to sleep on the beds, so we went to the local Walmart to buy a blanket to sleep on! They told us at "check in" that there was a "Continental Breakfast" in the morning... yeah sure! My husband went down for breakfast, bringing me back a waffle... They had NO Utensils left, NO Butter left... Ughh are you kidding me! How the HE$$ was I supposed to eat a waffle with syrup with NO UTENSILS!!! They should have PAID US for staying there! HORRIBLE! Just HORRIBLE!!! Won't be going back there EVER AGAIN!!!

My family, along with another family, were traveling through Colorado Springs, in our RV's/Travel Trailers and called the Rodeway Inns in Colorado Springs to reserve a room for the night as we could not get into an RV park. The General Manager, Heather, assured us that we would be able to park in their lot, she stated they had Bus parking. When we pulled up to the street the Motel was on, it looked like the worst ghetto ever! Homeless bums were sleeping on the street corners. The parking lot for RV's, Busses and trailers was locked and Heather stated she had to unlock it.

There were bums sleeping in the gated lot! So much for secure. She stated she couldn't open it at that time, since she was checking in guests. We circled the ghetto for a several minutes, at 9:00 PM. When I let Heather know we could not make it into the small parking lot, she argued with me, and hung up on me. She refused to answer my calls again after that. I circled the streets for 30 minutes while calling back. She canceled my reservation, and refuses to reimburse my money! Too bad there are no negative stars! This one would get -10+.

My family and I checked in the Rodeway Inn at 5952 Lincoln Ave. In Chicago IL. Checked in on July 5th which was first night. Next morning my daughter was bitten by bed bugs. She first thought she may had an allergic reaction to something. The next night July 6th. Woke up next morning, she discovered she had been bitten again. We were in room 33. My cousin also woke up with bite marks, my other daughter, myself, my granddaughter, and my mother who actually flicked on off her clothes. Cousin went to complain, worker said, "Oh yea, we just treated for bed bugs 4 months prior." Went to complain, she said, "Sorry about that." ** the manager said that she would not charge us for any the stay and that our money would be refunded within 3 to 5 business days.

** said that she could not put us up anywhere else. All that she could do is have us put our clothes in a bag and housekeeping would spin them through the dryer for us. That she could get us in only in a hotel that is under the Choice hotel at per her discount. Needless to say as of 7/17/2017 no refund, after she told us that our money would be refunded within 4 days. Don't, I repeat don't stay at the Rodeway Inn at 5952 Lincoln Ave in Chicago, IL. I don't recommend that anyone stays at any properties of Choice hotel. The customer service sucks.

A few weeks I had checked into the Rodeway Inn, Indicated at 95 Wallace Road in Nashville TN. My check in was @10:41 pm on 06/14/17 purchasing (4) nights, I parked my truck at the closest available space to my assigned unit. Around 5 am I left for work in a company vehicle. Later that afternoon around 4 pm I returned to find my truck was missing, assuming it was stolen I called the police (non emergency number) and was asked to check with the hotel first which I did. The manager said they did NOT tow the truck but the desk clerk gave me a phone number to call. I called and was told they had my truck and it was towed by management. The next day I retrieved the vehicle at a price of 234.00 dollars.

After my stay I did approach the manager this time with paper work, to my surprise he runs and gets in his car and recklessly speeds off. Since then I have returned several times yet the staff says that he is not there. I have no doubt that the vehicle was towed by mistake, however the manager was the most unprofessional person I have ever met. Checking into this hotel does not include recording vehicle information. Budget lodging at it's very worst.

When I go home to Arizona I tried to contact Choice Hotels corporate. They also refused a full refund and refused to allow me to talk to anyone in their management chain. Since that no contact. We had reservations to stay at the Rodeway Inn (Jamaica, NY) at the end of May and booked with them based on them being affiliated with Choice Hotels (which I thought had a good reputation). We were enjoying downtown NY when I got a call asking what time we planned to check in (check in was after 1). I told the girl between 6 and 7. We got there at 6:30 and was told that our rooms (two were booked) still had people in them that wanted late checkout but they would get them out and have our rooms ready in 5 minutes... I am NOT going to go into a room 5 minutes after people are leaving and NOT having a clean room (it takes more than 5 minutes to do that!).

While we were waiting to find out when the rooms were going to be ready - we noticed the two security guards, the locked room for the girl to stay behind (and I think bulletproof glass) so was already nervous about the area we were in... Noticed in the vending machine they are selling condoms - huge red flag... They are renting rooms by the hour at this hotel. Choice Hotel needs to know that they are getting a bad name being associated with places like this. I did go look at the room they were going to give us (after the pimp dropped the key back off) and they were just changing the sheets - dark and stinky. We left quickly and walked to a hotel on the other side of the highway. This place is being run as a whorehouse... Thank GOD we didn't stay here. I am not sure what type of disease we would have left with!

On May 16th my husband and I stayed at the Rodeway Inn in Vicksburg, en route to a vacation in Florida. We had reservations and arrived 10:00 pm. We were put in room at street level. Tired we turned the lights off and went to sleep. My husband got up several times during the night. In the morning we opened the curtains only to find a copperhead curled in the middle of the room. Naturally this freaked us out and my husband somehow got out the front door to tell the manager. By this time, onlookers were curious as to what was going on. I was so panicked that I jumped on the bed as far away as I could get from the snake. Finally a maintenance man came and managed to get the snake into a bucket. Couldn't get out of the room fast enough.

My husband went into the front desk to finalize payment and not one person said "sorry about that". Personally I thought it would have been good business to offer us free room. I have pictures that I have taken of the copperhead on the floor but I am unable to send through this review. If you contact me I will be glad to send to you. Actually I don't think we will ever stay at a Rodeway Inn again. Please publish this so that others can be aware. God forbid if that copperhead bite me or my husband. We checked in Thursday late at night into Rodeway Inn Encinitas North, CA (we prepaid thru Hotels.com) and had to extend our stay another night. The next morning (again thru Hotels.com) because we became seriously sick with a stomach bug that night. My little child and myself stayed in bed the entire day. A few days later I saw a charge of $55 on my bank statement charged directly by Rodeway Inn, Encinitas North, CA.

The manager on the phone claims it's for cleaning. Says there was pee stains on the bed and they can't use the mattress! First she claimed they threw out the mattress and so I couldn't come in and see proof. Then she changed her story and said it's for "cleaning". In fact, there were no pee stains on the mattress, and furthermore had she replaced the mattress, it would have cost a lot more. She has also refused to provide any evidence that it cost them an extra $55 to clean the sheets or whatever she claims the cleaning is for. I have threatened to take her to court and if she doesn't refund our money, I most certainly will. Believe me, if you stay there, you're a glutton for punishment! We stay at many hotels for vacation and relaxation and never has any of them ever charged us a dime for cleaning or damages, even though I've been taking my daughter with me since she was an infant in diapers.

Furthermore the prices are ridiculous. Thursday night the price was reasonable but on Friday, it cost us about $98 to stay there! I only extended the stay by one more day because we were too sick to get out of bed. If I wasn't in so much agony from stomach spasms, I would have left that day. And now I find we were charged yet another $55 for no good reason! That place deserves to go out of business for ripping off customers. I will pursue my rights in court if I have to, and not because $55 is worth the headache but to make sure those crooks don't do this to others or get away with robbery, because that's EXACTLY what that is: ROBBERY!

Hershey PA. 1733 East Chocolate Ave. To start this place should be condemned. The room was dirty, the TV, Microwave, refrigerator, light above the sink, and the sink drain did not work. I requested to have these items fixed and nothing was done. I was traveling with my two daughter and (16 and 7), the place was unsafe and the drug use outside in the parking lot was plentiful. The activities that took place were from racing a remote control car around the parking lot of an employee (25 or older) to partying till 3:30 a.m.

My family was scared and felt like they were in hiding because of the people that not only worked there but the people that were living there using the hotel as their residence. As was exiting the room at 7:30 a.m. Three (3) teenage boys exited one room and got on a bus for school. These rooms are being use as apartments and not hotel rooms. This was an extremely bad experience and I would not recommend or ever stay in another Rodeway Inn. Absolutely disgusted.

My husband and I spent the most dangerous night of our lives in the decrepit, prostitute/drug-ring Rodeway Inn Skytop, in Kingston, N.Y. The other guests in the hotel, including those in the room just beside ours, were sex workers, drugs dealers, angry pimps and many, many, many clients. Their activities, fighting and hours of vomiting kept us up throughout the entire night till the next morning, as we listened to person after person drive up, slam their car doors, then the motel room door behind them every 15 minutes. At 4:00 am one of them began banging furiously on our room door. When we didn't answer they continued to bang until my husband asked what they wanted, cigarettes was the reply.

We spent the night trapped inside our room fearing for our lives, until they all left at 6:30 am. With that incredibly loud room door slamming one last time behind them. For $66 this filthy, smelly motel does not even look as if it's in business as you drive up, it should be closed as condemned property or at the very least should be professionally inspected as it surely needs it. The carpeting is sticky and the rooms stink. For $10 more, in the $70 range, there were plenty of other hotels and motels in the vicinity which would have been worth the upgrade. Some comments on this motel say "You get what you pay for" and I can assure you we did not pay for a night of hiding from prostitutes and drug dealers, strung out of their minds. The walls are so thin that all of the smells and smoke seeps through the rooms and at about 8:00 the next morning the cleaning ladies were banging around with a loud vacuum and gossiping, which we could hear clearly through the walls.

When we spoke to the manager and his wife about this the following morning they accepted no blame claiming only that we should have told them at the time (despite the post in the lobby stating the front desk closes at midnight) and after much instance on our part, they agreed only to a partial refund, begrudgingly and with no sympathy or shame. We called the police, who explained that the owners of the Skytop were willingly allowing these activities to take place. We also spoke with an employee who told me that our experience was simply a normal night at the Skytop, happens all the time. It has haunted us since.

It was nearly impossible to get through to customer service. I called 4 times and was on hold for 45 minutes. The representatives speak minimal English and kept repeating the same blanket replies which had nothing to do with the questions asked. Supervisors refused to come to the phone as they were "busy with other clients" and continually promised to call back: They never did. All they would tell me was my, "case was considered closed" and offered me a Choice Rewards Card, where I could gain points on future stays.

I checked into Rodeway Inn on the evening of February 18th. Upon arrival in the lobby, I was met with friendly staff at the front desk who checked me in. At the same time another couple was voicing concern about their room and wanted a refund. They also had reserved their room from Expedia as I had. The staff explained that there was nothing they could do to refund their money as a result of their dissatisfaction with the room. Their complaint was that their room was dirty, had no heat and mold was somewhere in the room. They were not offered a refund.

I proceeded to check in mainly because I had been to 4 other hotels and NO ONE had a vacancy that evening. I was stuck. I received my key and went to my room on the 6th floor. The room was very cold but I decided to give it a chance to warm up. Three hours later, the room was still not warm. I called the front desk who recommended a few troubleshooting measures, none of which worked. Staff also came to the room to check on the temperature. He agreed that the room was cold and brought a space heater to me.

The room had a very ominous feeling in that the bed covers looked dark and murky, (I did not sit on them) and there was no cover other than the sheets. I was doomed to be in a room that was cold, no clean blankets, nor any covers between the blanket and sheets. I sat to watch TV that was mounted in the adjoining room, not the bedroom wall and decided to freshen up. It was then that I noticed the mold on the bathroom wall near the sink. I choose to avoid the area and use the bathroom itself but felt cheated for the remainder of the time I spent at Rodeway Inn. It was by far the worst experience ever in a hotel. I called the front desk to voice my concern and spoke with the manager on duty. He referred me to the person in charge that would report in the morning. This morning person just so happened to be the night manager's dad!

The next morning I spoke with the "so called" manager who promptly informed me that he, the dad, worked for the son and that the son was the head manager. On top of all the other issues, I realized that the manager was less than honest and truthful! The son told me that the dad would be responsible for issuing credits which is not the case! How frustrating and totally unprofessional! I am in the process of reporting this hotel to the health department but also seeking to obtain a refund for the costs of the hotel. I would prefer to give this hotel "no stars" however, this was not an option. Signed, Extremely dissatisfied.

All I wanted was my money back for the night we didn't stay. Who would want to sleep in a bed with bed bugs?! We didn't have a choice really but to leave.

My family and I (husband and three children) had the worst experience that we've had in a long time at this particular hotel called the Rodeway Inn by the beach. I am very unhappy and outraged about our experience and how customer service has treated us. We had dirty linen for the majority of our stay. We were not provided with an alarm clock or a coffee maker, and the refrigerator was leaking and did not work properly to keep food items cold. When I attempted to present these issues to the office manager named Sonja, he immediately told us to leave if we didn't like it! We were totally horrified and was unfortunately not able to pick up and go to another hotel, considering the fact that we were there on emergency basis.

I would strongly advise that all potential guest stay clear from this hotel because of the unprofessional living conditions that this entity is continuously providing to the public. I have an increased level of concerns for the extreme health code violations that are being breached, especially when there are children staying there. Hopefully I will get assistance concerning this horrifying experience.

The room we rented for the night was so dirty. We spent the whole night killing roaches crawling on the wall and bed. We asked the hotel management for roach spray. Instead of moving us to another room, they just gave my husband a bug spray. And they let us spray on our own. We had to stay outside for at least 30 minutes to let the fumed room air out. We had no choice but to stay because of the hurricane Matthew, this was the last available hotel. We paid $59.00 a night for one room. Customer service was so poor. The smell of the room was really suffocatingly worst, cigarette smell was so bad. Our stay was a nightmare but we did not have any choice at all. We think that this hotel need to be investigated or checked. The walls are all stained that looks like blood stains. I can send more photos of the mess.

He lied and my receipt was right there all the time because once again Deanna had already printed it out for me. And it smelled in our room because they were cooking in the room across from us. Earlier, we had received email from Hotwire assuring us all would be the same service and commitment we had been promised with Quality Inns. However, we were given a room that reeked of smoke, no breakfast was offered and Wi-Fi was awful. They moved us to a very cramped room where all was dirty, bathroom tub did not work, no towels, etc. For one night we would endure. Then we found they had stolen a gift basket delivered to hotel for us and our journey. After discussing all issues with manager and various clerk persons we at least received 50.00 reimbursements for basket (They found the empty basket after several days of our persistence). We opened the door and turned the a/c on full blast. I sprayed a full can of Lysol and then we left for about 3 hours. When we returned the smell was still there. April 30th 2016, my wife and I went to stay at the Rodeway Inn in Gainesville, TX. Upon arrival, I noticed that the outside was not very well kept. My wife checked us in and we drove to our room. When we opened the door there was a stench that emanated from that of a wet dog. You can tell just by looking around that there was a lack of any housekeeping. My wife walked into the bathroom and the bathtub nor the toilet had been cleaned. The refrigerator had a thick layer of mold around the molding and it was dirty and rusted on the inside. My wife quickly called the front. Upon arriving to the room the clerk asked what is wrong and we asked him "Don't you smell that?" He said the room smelled fine. We proceeded to show him the fridge and he attempted to take the mold off with his fingernails and attempted to wipe the rust off with his hands. My wife asked for another room.

The clerk gave us the key and when we got to the other room, it was just as bad. The bathtub nor the toilet had been cleaned. There was a dead bug next to the bed and garbage under the bed. The microwave only worked when the door was opened and the refrigerator was just as dirty. The room smelled just as bad as the 1st one. We went to a local store and purchased some cleaning supplies and disposable gloves and Lysol. I sprayed the carpeting, the bed, bedspread, pillows, the toilet and the sink. We came back hours later and the room still smelled the same. We thought about just asking for our money back and going home but we were so tired and driving the hour or so home at night did not seem too smart.

We reluctantly lay in bed but decided we would wash up and shower when we got home the next day. That is how disgusting the bathtub was. We took video and pictures which we will post on YouTube and we are going to contact Choice Hotels Corporate offices which sells the franchises for Rodeway Inn Motels and tell them the same. This place also has a AAA rating and we are members of the AAA motor club and we will be giving them a call as well. Rodeway Inn nor Choice Hotels will ever be getting our business.

My experience actually started off to a great start. I was treated very kindly and liked all the employees very much! I had asked specifically about the rules and followed everything that is expected of a hotel guest. Everything changed on the 1st of May, when I had decided to do my laundry which I had put off for quite some time, so I packed up all three of my large suitcases to the laundry room, sorted them, and paid for the wash cycle in both machines. After my clothes had been washing for about 3 or 4 minutes I decided to grab a few things from their vending machine on the other side of the building.

When I returned there was a man with a flashlight (I was later told it was the manager) yelling and screaming at me to GET MY STUFF NOW AND GET OFF THEIR PROPERTY. I was so confused, embarrassed, and when I tried to ask what this was all about he wouldn't say anything but "GET YOUR STUFF AND GET OFF THE PROPERTY NOW." I have never been so hurt in my life. I just kept saying, "I'm sorry for whatever had happened. Please just stop yelling at me. Please, what have I done wrong?" I said, "Don't you remember me from the last few days? We had talked a few times." He replied, "NO, I DON'T ** REMEMBER YOU. NOW JUST GET OFF THE PROPERTY."

At this point I am crying and trying to pull my clothes out of the washer soaking wet, begging the manager to tell me what I had done wrong. I was later told a man who he thought was somehow with me had used a hose to rinse his hands and apparently because of this man I don't even know I was publicly shamed, mocked, and made to feel like I was an unwelcome trespasser. I hope no one else has to ever go through this.

Went and told the front desk, and asked if there was possibly another room I could use the vanity in, and was told no that they were booked (which I doubt seeing we were able to get a room at 11 pm), but there was a public bathroom I could use. Go to make a cup of coffee and the coffee pot had layers of dust, there was white specks that were easily wiped off, the cups on top had no plastic wrapping on them, and the inside of pot had crusted coffee. The cup and ice tray had red/brown from cups. The bathroom/shower had 2 towels and that was it. The phone had crusted stuff all in between the #'s. The sheet on the one bed had holes and was so thin it was almost transparent.

Upon checkout we asked to talk to the manager and we were telling him how dirty and gross things were. We were not asking for our $ back, just wanted him aware. As I was attempting to show him the pics, he looked at 1 and said if we weren't happy we should have said so when we checked in. I stated it was 11 pm and didn't realize we had to do a inspection of our room before going to bed. He then said there was nothing he could do and completely ignored us trying to show the rest of the pics, and continued on his computer without even looking at us. That is when we got mad. Like I said we weren't asking for $ back or anything. To be snubbed by the manager when you are trying to let him know the condition of a room was just unacceptable!

We were told that it would cost us extra to have a handicap room (come to find out it is against Federal law to charge extra, we just found that out) so we decided to get 2 reg room instead. When we arrived front clerk was nice. When we went to our rooms it was OK a little stuffy and smelly, into to our vacation we ask the front desk if we could use their microwave to heat up our granddaughter's dinner because it was cold.

We were told that they need a $50 deposit and $11 for the microwave and I ask, "Please can you just put this in your microwave, it will only be 2-3 mins so my granddaughter can have her dinner." I WAS TOLD NO. They need the deposit and the rental fee, and I needed to have a room upgrade to receive the microwave. I was so upset I told them, "No I will not do that" and their response was, "Call Olive Garden and see if you can take it back so they can heat it up for you." I could not believe what I just hear. I told them I am in a wheelchair, I can't afford to keep taking taxis and they say, "There's nothing we can do." So I left and went to my room. I will not lie to you, I had tears in my eyes.

Then my daughter brought my granddaughter to the pool for a while. They were having a good time then some little kids came to swim and when we turned around to they were swimming NAKED! Their parents were there. We grab our granddaughter out of the pool and went to our room and called the front desk to tell them if they can do something. We waited and went down to the pool again and they did NOTHING!

Towards the last 5 days of our vacation, my daughter's room had an awful smell. The maintenance men told us they had a bad back up in the room next to her (sewer backup) and we call the front desk (AGAIN) and they said nothing. So we decided to wait until we came home from our vacation to call and talk to the manager **. I was told to leave my number and she will get back to me and guess what still waiting. Stayed one night at Rodeway Inn in Huntington Park, CA located at 6340 Santa Fe Ave. We arrived about 8 PM and checked in. The guy who checked us in was really nice. My husband is disabled so we requested a ground floor, handicap room which we received. The room itself "seemed" decent at first, until we realized that the bathroom door had to really be forced to open. It scraped the floor horribly. Not good for someone in a wheelchair or a walker who needed to get to the bathroom quickly and who doesn't have any upper-body strength. The baseboard in the bathroom was separating from the wall and it looked like there was a dead cockroach on the floor. The sink's faucet was very loose, too.

Anyway, the clincher was that we needed to have a 6:30 AM wake up call for a very important appointment with a spine surgeon the next morning. When my husband picked up the phone to request the wake-up call, the cord separated from the handle and the bottom half of the phone base was missing and had a huge red light blinking. So, he held the phone cord into the handle and got a call into the office for the wake up call, covered the broken base with a wash cloth to cover the red light blinking and we tried to sleep. It was now 10:00 or a little after. Soon we started hearing VERY loud, Spanish music which was blasting through the walls. I stepped outside to trace the noise and realized we were connected to a Mexican restaurant. Their crew was cleaning up and they didn't leave until 11 PM. So we went to sleep and I woke up right around daybreak. I was expecting that wake up call at anytime. It never came.

As it started getting lighter outside, I woke my husband and asked him the time (his watch was the only clock in the room). He said it was almost 7 AM. We never got a wake up call. I called the desk (by holding the phone cord in) and asked why we didn't receive our wake-up call. The guy on the other end could only say, "uh-huh". I asked if he tried to call, because right then I noticed that the light was flashing which told me the phone cord made it impossible for the desk to reach us. He said, "yes, I try call you". I told him we didn't get the call BECAUSE THE PHONE WAS BROKEN!. His response, "uh-huh". That's it. No apologies, nothing. Just a "uh-huh". Unacceptable service. Our room was perhaps 15 feet from the office, and this lazy guy could have easily came and knocked on our door. What has happened to customer care in this nation??? It's crazy bad.

Now to add insult to injury they added an extra 20.00 to my credit card and when I called I was told that it was because I damaged a pillowcase and a towel with make-up. Are you freaking kidding me. I don't even know if they wash their towels and pillow cases because everything was so darn filthy. Manager said that is why they leave the little wet ones thingies to wash make up... Please there was no wet one thingies at this motel! I paid 89.00 to start out with which I thought was terrible enough because of the nastiness of this motel then another 20.00 for damaging a towel and pillow case.

They must have some pretty stupid house cleaning, because the manager said that they could not get the makeup out. My boyfriend and I were going to stay two nights at the Rodeway Inn and everything seemed to process smoothly when checking inn. We got our room # and keys and unloaded our luggage completely before the man who checked us in yelled that our card had been declined. My BF went back to the office and tried scanning our prepaid card again, no luck. So we tried scanning the card charging only one night 65.00 + tax - no luck. So we returned the keys and the employee told us to try checking in online. After calling to check the balance on our card we had enough for one night with money still on the card and tried checking in online but had trouble with the website so we turned around and went back home.

The next day Made two small purchases w/ the card and my third small purchase was declined stating I had only .04$ on my card when I should have had at least 50 or more dollars on it. Lo and behold, an unauthorized amount of 50.00$ was charged by Rodeway Inn & Suites, which didn't make sense since the price of one single room was 65.00 + tax. After calling and showing up in person to dispute the transaction the employee argued with me saying that if the transaction was processed that Rodeway doesn't hold the funds and they had no history of the transaction in their system. She spoke very poor English and kept raising her voice to me when I tried to understand the amount approved and when the money would be returned to my card.

She had no answers besides saying Rodeway wouldn't hold the funds and they didn't put through the transaction and said the money should already been returned to my card. Which it wasn't and still hasn't been two days later. Every time I call to talk to an employee they say they have no record of it without even asking for any specifics about the incident & that the money should have already been released, which it hasn't. Tomorrow morning I'm calling their corporate office to have money refunded and to tell them how unhelpful and rude their staff had been to me and my significant other. We tried to extend our stay via Hotels.com, but the Rodeway had blocked access. I mistakenly thought check out was noon. Most places we have stayed, that was the time. We were awakened to banging on the door from Housekeeping. I was informed of the difference (it was 11:20 at the time). I then went down to extend, and was told the price would be close to $300.00!!! Only because of the holiday. I was in shock. I said we would just check out. I was then told we should just let them charge us the late fee and pay the difference for the room. I said "NO THAT WAS RIDICULOUS!" So I went back up to get us together and pack. Mind you we weren't showered, packed or dressed.

We walked out of the door at around 12:15-12:20. I thought everything was over. I look at my bank statement and Rodeway has TWO $50.00 Charges for what I found out were late checkout fees! I cannot get the property manager on the phone, called customer relations and we kept being, "disconnected". I am beyond frustrated. The manager did not say a word about the extra charges when we checked out, and it wasn't on the bill. Mind you other guests were checking out the whole time this was going on. I heard nothing about a late fee, which lead me to believe that either no fee was being charged or it would be a surprise charge, like it was for me. I think this is sneaky, underhanded, and egregious.

We were in Baltimore for our son's wedding in June 2015 and decided to stay 2 nights in a midtown hotel. My husband Rod chose the Rodeway Inn on St Paul Street for its price and convenience to restaurants, etc. Our daughter and her kids were with us and we got 2 rooms. Our room #105 is the subject of this complaint.

It was very hot in our room. I found the air conditioning's outflow vent behind a large picture over the bed (see photo). I removed the picture and placed it in what I thought was a safe place behind the fridge. I then looked into the vent (see photo) and discovered it almost occluded with I don't know what... Gunk? Debris? I informed the gentleman at the front desk about the hot room, the picture and the disgusting vent. He went upstairs to adjust the AC, or so I thought, but it didn't help. By the way, our daughter's room was very chilly!

Our first night at Rodeway Inn we had gone to a restaurant and came back to a dimly lit room. My vision is impaired due to recent eye surgeries and I bumped into a suitcase in front of the picture. Down I went into the glass, breaking it and getting several nicks of my own! I informed the front desk (Mr. **) and he said, "OK, OK." When I mentioned the cuts he again said, "OK, OK."

The next morning he informed me that he'd spoken to his "boss" and the replacement glass would be "very expensive". At checkout my husband took care of the bill. He doesn't like confrontation so signed the receipt for 2 room 2 nights for $560! FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS of that was for MISCELLANEOUS! I've also included photos of filthy base boards and fridge. I had more, like one of a broken chair, a moldy ice bucket, but I exceeded my download limit!

Stayed at this disgusting dive on July 12, 2015. The rooms and the grounds were utterly disgusting. I would be amazed if the place is cleaned once a year. This particular night they were having the driveways resurfaced. The smell permeated into the room. I was unable to sleep. I complained to the night auditor. He told me I would have to wait until the manager came in. Since I came in from out of state I did not have my own personal vehicle to go someplace that would accept pets. I had to call someone who lived 3 hours away to come and get me. I went in and spoke to the "manager" and aired my anger and dissatisfaction. She was extremely rude and refused to give me a refund. This chain seems to have several complaints logged against them. The clientele is primarily transients.

Rodeway Inn Portland Airport - I traveled from Denver Colorado to Portland late yesterday evening. Originally I had booked with another company that I had stayed with before, but with the exceptional promotion with $50 gift card from Choice hotels I ended up switching. Only to find out the promotion didn't apply to my stays booked through choice. I stayed with them though because they managed to beat the competitor's price by $20 if I stayed. When I arrived the shuttle driver was courteous and kind, even loaded my 45 lb bag into the van. When I arrived at the hotel and checked in the same driver that loaded my bag, then placed me across the parking lot in a room on the 3rd floor with no elevator. I recently suffered a stroke and it was assumed I would be able to carry this up 3 flights of stairs.

When I arrived at the room it was overly hot. Someone had turned on the heat and it took almost an hour to cool down. After the room cooled I did find it clean and adequate. If I was rating the room alone I would stay again. However, in the morning I went down and asked if it was possible to purchase the continental breakfast. I was told "No" that it was only based with occupancy. I have worked in hotel management before. Our job was to be efficient, kind, courteous, and always go out of our way regardless of the price paid at a room. To this I have to say a two star rating is almost pushing it....

This past weekend my wife and I flew into town to attend her father funeral. After landing we searched for available rooms in that location. We found Rodeway Inn (name has been recently changed to Parkway Inn) in Springfield, Pa. After arriving to the motel we checked in at the desk. We asked the clerk at the front desk if there were any non-smoking room available. She stated "yes, however that's an additional 30 dollars". We responded that's okay. She then stated "Okay, once you walk into the room you can't change it".

Feeling strange we walk towards the room. We reached the room and opened the door walking into a stench that smelled like someone urinated on the carpet and it was never cleaned. We then went back to the front desk and asked that they clean the room. She stated she'll let housekeeping know (They never came). After going back to the room we did a walk through. The stone tile in the bathroom was broken off and unsecured. There were flies in the bathroom and unsealed patches on the bathroom walls. After seeing that we didn't trust sleeping on the bed without removing the sheets.

We removed the sheets and noticed several disgusting stains on the beds that include urine stains, cigarettes burns, and menstrual period stains. This is completely unacceptable! We then took all that information back the front desk. We asked that they either change the bed or change our room. The clerk/manager refused both stating "we don't change out rooms nor do they have extra beds lying around and we also don't give refunds". We were forced to clean our own room and purchase blow up beds just to get some sleep before the funeral. This is completely unacceptable. We have pictures of everything. Note: They also walk around using stolen shopping carts as their cleaning carts.

The people in the room next to ours are extremely loud - banging on the walls, running across the floor sounding like a herd of buffalo, little kids screaming and crying. So we asked if they could do something about it. We are told from 10 pm to 7 am is was ok for them to make noise cause they have kids. The Jacuzzi has NO water in it. We were never told that it wasn't in use. The lock on our door locks us in, hard to get out.

We were given a price quote of 99 dollars, after we agree, we are told, OOPS there are no rooms for pets not be 3rd floor and we have to go to the 2nd floor and now pay 109 dollars. Our NON-smoking room stinks of cigarettes. At least we didn't pay extra for the smoke smell. Not sure if we have vending machines yet. Won't be a surprised if we don't with all the other blessings we have acquired so far in our 2-hour stay. A HORRIBLE ROOM FOR A RIDICULOUS PRICE. The cover in front of the office was propped up with what looked like 16 ft 2X4's. I entered the office, and the smell about knocked me over. I didn't need to see a room. I cancelled our reservation.

My wife made the reservation through Priceline. Because we had made our cancellation that day, we were to pay a penalty of 1 night's stay. No problem. The motel was $53.99 per night, plus tax and fees. The total came to $120 plus change. They offered me a refund of $47. That is $13 less than they owe me. I refused the refund. Contacted Priceline. Absolutely no help what-so-ever. I would not let my dog stay in a room at this motel. But, I am most disappointed in the way we have been treated by Priceline after the fact. We eventually stayed at the Comfort Inn in Hurricane, Utah. It cost us $7 more total, and was clean, the staff was very nice (and clean) and the breakfast was nice.

Towels and etc. were delivered an hour later. Maintenance man came an hour later wanting to fix shower, woke us up both times. We both used the shower and was most definitely need fixed. Left motel at 3:00 pm, arrived back at 11:00 pm and motel card key would not let us in our room. Staff insisted on thirty dollars for our eight pound little dog. We informed staff that wife and I would take two hour shifts in our vehicle all night to keep our dog warm and safe. Upstairs above us, my wife and I, neither one could sleep on first two shifts because of the noise upstairs.

We left Saturday morning at six am and arrived back at nine pm and again the card key to our room would not let us in. Went to the front desk, assisted on thirty dollars for our pet, told her wife and I that we took two hour shifts all night to keep our little dog safe and warm. Finally entered the room and our room was untouched, nothing was cleaned, bathroom was dirty, no clean towels etc. Went to the front desk, asked about leaving and was told because it was past noon time I would be charged for the room, even though if we had returned our belongings in the room, would have been locked and we could not enter prior to noon to leave anyway. Again they asked for thirty dollars again for our pet. Explained we planned to do the same as night before, before leaving Sunday morning at six am and turned in the card key.

My wife and I were so upset that we gave the card key back to staff after removing all belongings from our room. And left at ten pm and drove back, all morning and night, to Klamath Falls Oregon and arrived home at four thirty am. Worst motel experience in my life.

I am an alumni, so while they were in the room, I went to visit my college within the University. I stopped smoking cigarettes and took on E cigarettes. I was given a non smoking room, which was made apparent later. I vaporized two pulls of oil. Upon returning, the manager was in front of my door, I asked what happened he said he evicted my sister and friend and had charged an additional 125.00 to my card. I know the laws here. I can have my Electronic cigarette and use it in non smoking facilities, by law. I later found out it is upon the landowner's discretion. I asked where they were, he told me they left scared for he told them the police were about to be notified.

In Arizona it is legal by the way to use the electronic cigarette for reduced marijuana given you have a doctor's note. I am responsible for these two girls, which I have no idea where they are. I know he made a bad misinformed uneducated sour call. I lost it. I got in his face, he immediately called the police. After they took both sides were taken into account one officer said not to come back, as I said I understand, the officer said, "No you don't, we get calls from this property constant for calls like this." I chose the hotel for its cost and proximity to campus, as I pulled in I realized the low cost was due to the shady area it was located in.

January 12, 2015 we made the mistake of staying at this DUMPSTER. My wife was going in for surgery and Inland Valley Hospital and I was going to stay for the week. Upon driving onto the property I knew we were in trouble. You have to take a strange turn through someone’s property like an alley to arrive at DUMP Rodeway Inn. No one was in the office when we arrived at 4:30 pm. We had to wait in our vehicle about 20 minutes before what seemed to be a homeless guy showed up. He was the manager. Since it was late in the day we decided to give it a try.

The room was furnished from Goodwill 1950's. The TV was hanging at an angle on the wall by some metal and wire. The dead bolt on the door was not working. Water was leaking in the shower and running out on the floor. (This was a handicap room). About 7:30 we noticed the smell of cigarette smoke. As the smell got stronger we noticed that smoke was seeping through the door that adjoins the two rooms. We called the Manager on the house phone, no answer after about 23 rings. I tried a second time, still no answer. About 15 minutes later the phone rang, it was the manager. I told him that cigarette smoke was coming into our room from the Non Smoking room next door.

The manager said that was impossible because he knew the people next door and they were friends of his and they wouldn't smoke in the room. I asked the manager to come to our room and see and smell the smoke. The manager arrived and walked around the room and said he couldn't smell anything. I took him to where we had stuffed a towel under the door and pulled the towel away and light smoke seeped in. The manager said it was dust not smoke.

I asked the manager to check the room next door; the manager said NO, he would not invade their private room. I pointed to the MISSING smoke alarm on the wall. It was obviously removed to allow smoking. The manager said nothing about the missing smoke alarm. I'll be calling the Lake Elsinore fire department in the morning. We put a chair against the entry door to our room to lock it and went to bed so we could hurry up and sleep and leave early the next morning.

I was greeted by a non-smiling barely understandable man who insisted it wasn't their policy for pets to stay free, that there was a $10.00 fee per pet. When I told him we weren't staying, he changed his mind and allowed our two tiny dogs to stay free. The walls in the hall leading to our room were dirty and heavily spackled, our room had one working light, the heat/A/C did not work, the toilet seat was broken, a dirty plastic knife, napkin, and food container were on the floor by headboard, a sickening moldy mildew smell, no t.v. remote, no tissues, one tiny bar of soap, and a general dirty, rundown atmosphere.

If all Rodeway Inns are in this condition, I can't understand how they stay in business. This was our first and last experience with them. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!! ! I wish I could give this place 0 stars, or even NEGATIVE. The place was dirty, the walls were stained brown and orange from who knows what. The sheets had stain, did they ever hear of BLEACH? The reason why they didn't have a lot of lights in the room was because they want to hide the fact that it was DIRTY as a dumpster. There were people loitering outside ALL DAY and NIGHT. I did NOT feel safe at all. They had an AC, with TWO OPTIONS: ON AND OFF.

THINGS THAT MADE US LEAVE AFTER ONE NIGHT: They gave us the WRONG room key and then gave us the WRONG ROOM. Gave us a call at 1 am (after a whole day of Disneyland, you would have been passed out around 11-12). Called us to say that we were in the WRONG ROOM. ARE YOU ** KIDDING ME? YOU GAVE US THE ROOM! WE DID NOT CHOOSE IT!

When I went down to see the manager about it, there was no one there. YOU JUST CALLED US!!! WTF!!! And the manager said he will be back the next day, he never did. I had to deal with his INCONSIDERATE EMPLOYEES WHO DID NOT GIVE A DAMN. Come on, THINK OF YOUR CUSTOMERS. All you hear is people talking throughout the night, sirens from cop cars (walls must be super thin). We got another call at 6 AM. Then it hung up when we picked up. Most likely from the office. The ringer was super loud, so it was super annoying when you couldn't sleep at all.

When we talked to the management, they said it was their mistake but they didn't do anything. We called SOUTHWEST to change our hotels, they said that we can check out whenever. Afterwards, we told the hotel that we would check out by 6 pm but we would be running late because of traffic. GUESS WHAT THEY DID?! THEY MOVED OUR STUFF FROM OUR HOTEL ROOM. WE WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THEY LEFT IT AT THE FRONT DESK. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS TO BE MOVED. We got there by 6:10 and we told them that hey, we told them we were running late. THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN TOUCH OUR STUFF. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR STUFF TO BE TOUCHED.

When we called back Southwest, the hotel informed them a different story. While we were there, another customer was trying to leave because he didn't feel safe at all either. I will be contacting management because this is INCONSIDERATE. Southwest, Priceline, any other services, you should not be partnering up with a DISRESPECTFUL, INCONSIDERATE AND UNPROFESSIONAL HOTEL/ INN.

This Roadway Inn (OLD Econo Lodge) 1401 Ocean Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC, is the filthiest hotel/motel that I have stayed in for the past 14 years. It was very dirty, the staff was not dressed professional nor did they act professional, they (2 women on duty) were very rude. My room was very small, smelled very bad, was HOT, paint peeling on the wall, rust was everywhere and it looked like someone had tried to get into the room by using a knife or screwdriver to pry the lock open. The screen on the TV looked like a Lava Lamp from the 60s (the picture kept going in and out, up and down). The A/C unit next to the bed ram all the time at high speed, it kept going off and on every few seconds, I had NO sleep while I was there.

The building must be close to 100 years old, it probably would cost less to tear it down and rebuild than to refurbish. I was at a complete surprise that Roadway Inn would let a franchise continue this way. I used 32,000 choice points for this room and I was unable to cancel when I got there or I would lose my points and no place to stay. The lobby was very small, only one or two small tables to sit at, no coffee maker in the room, no cont. breakfast in the morning, probably because the lobby was very small. The elevator was filthy inside and out, hot, and very slow. My room was on the 5th floor and I preferred to use the stairs which was also in very bad shape. Once we were given our rooms (four families), we discovered that the toilets were not flushing and that all four rooms had no cold running water. When we informed the front desk, they told us that the plumbing issue would be fixed by 4pm. At around 4:30pm, we started calling the front desk once again and they told us that the issue would now be resolved by 8pm. At around 8:15pm, I went to the front desk and there were other irate customers complaining about this same issue. I spoke to the general manager about this and all he had to say was "Haven't you ever had any issues with your home?"

When I informed him that as paying customers, we should have been informed about this situation upon arrival, and that the conditions were unacceptable and we needed to shower and be able to flush the toilets. His response was "Do you have a bathing suit? If you do, you can jump in the pool!" I was speechless and I have never felt so disrespected in my life. I demanded that he move us to a different room; however, he said that if I'd like I could check-out and he would give me a refund. Otherwise, the best he could do is discount me 30% from the nightly rate and not do any better because according to him at least I had a TV and a clean room. It is now 11:30pm and the water issue is yet to be resolved.

I am appalled by the poor service and the GM's unprofessional, non-compassionate treatment of his customers. He told me that he is also the VP of the hotel. I googled him and he is listed as the owner of this specific location in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I will never visit a Rodeway Inn ever again and will be sure to share with everyone I know my horrible experience at this place.

The Rodeway Inn & Suites in Girard, Ohio is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It may have been nice at one time, but seems to have closed down for a while and fallen into bad ownership. When we arrived, our room had obviously not been cleaned. There was an empty soda bottle on the floor, the toilets looked like they had not been cleaned in years, and there wasn't even a trashcan in the room. Once we went to lie down in bed, the situation got even worse. One bed had NO SHEETS and the other had sheets that had clearly been slept in and had not been changed since the last guest. One of the comforters was also stained with what was clearly BLOOD. The television did not work. All of the towels were stained yellow... That is, for those of us who had towels. And that would, of course, assume you would want to step anywhere near the showers. The bottoms were stained a deep yellow, the walls were covered in soap scum, and even hair from the previous guest.

When we went down to complain to the front desk, we received MANY assurances that our rooms would be cleaned "first thing in the morning", and when we returned at 6pm they had still not been touched. When we went to talk to the owner of the hotel at the front desk, she told us "If I were you, I would sleep in my car rather than stay at this hotel." It almost goes without saying, that once we returned to the hotel after dinner, around 9pm, our rooms had still not been touched.

Oh, and did I mention the stunning view? The pool that is advertised with this hotel has clearly been empty for about five years. Even in August, it is empty and covered with a pool cover that is also at least five years old. There are a few metal chairs outside though, in case dilapidated empty pools were your idea of a great view. And lastly, the parking lot. It’s near total emptiness should have been a sign that we had come to the WRONG place. But, if that wasn't enough, it's cracked surface that was completely overgrown, looking like a scene from The Walking Dead, should have been the final sign. The parking lot alone has my seven year old cousin convinced that the hotel is haunted. Overall, if you have to stay in the area, I would take the owner's advice: SLEEP IN YOUR CAR BEFORE YOU STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

We had used the coupons for Best Westerns, Abbey Inn and Knights Inn with no problems. Why would you put out coupons and then not honor them? This is false advertising and someone needs to turn them in to Better Business. If this is only good in certain motels, then it needed to state that. We paid $101 for a room for Saturday night. We could not get on the Wi-Fi; they said that they would have it fixed but did not fix that night or next morning. Our fire detector was beeping and called to say it needed a battery; they did not have a battery. They told us that the repair man would be in to fix it; he never came. So we finally detached it from the electrical wires as it would not stop beeping and, thus, we were not able to sleep. The cold breakfast was mini-muffins (could have provided something a little larger, such as, sliced bread to toast with butter and jam, coffee and boxed cereal). The mini-muffins plus the beeping fire alarm and inability to use computer in a room that did not qualify for any type of quality was a little overpriced compared to other chain motels. One motel in a small city, not a small town like Moab, that we paid $79 to $89 per night provided a hot breakfast buffet, clean and repaired rooms, and internet service.

Rodeway Inn at Route 66 (Az242) 334 E Route 66, Williams Az,8604: We arrived late (midnight) and checked into our room. My wife pulled the sheet back and said that we were leaving ASAP, as the sheets were not clean, the carpet was dirty, the room was about 45 degrees and the heater was a joke, and it smelled. I have stayed in a lot of motels and hotels, and that Rodeway Inn was by far the worst.

We left and went to a hotel down the street and it was very clean for a few dollars more. I turned the key in by leaving it in the door as it was locked. I would have someone visit this place and book a room and see for yourselves. It was as bad as it can get, and I don't know how they stay open.

We are in a Rodeway Inn In Flagstaff, AZ.tonight, and we have another one booked in Rosewell, NM on 3-9-12. Please look into this problem, as it will give Choice Hotels a very bad name. If I could get a refund, great. I just want you to know. We are traveling from California to Florida and the home to Michigan along the East Coast to visit a friend over the next 2 months. I checked in at Rodeway Inns using my credit card for two rooms. The next morning, I realized I had used the wrong credit card and so I paid with the correct credit card. I have my receipt. I just checked my mail and I got a bill from the initial credit card. I called the clerk (owner) and she basically told me too bad.

So, I paid for four rooms when I really only had two rooms. What a rip off. And this place if filthy, there was a public hair in the tub when I got there. I should have known better. I am now trying to get my credit card credited. Don’t stay here. It’s a rathole.

After settling into the room that I reserved for the night, I noticed a roach crawling across the floor. I could not believe my eyes. I decided at that time that I would simply discard the roach in the toilet (after taking several pictures with my phone) and act like this didn't happen. My husband and I left the room for a bit only to return to several roaches crawling on the floor particularly in the bathroom where there was an obvious leak around the toilet. By morning time, I had enough and asked the manager on duty (which I assume was the owner's wife) to please look at the latest roach I had killed. She only offered a "sorry" with a huge smile, like it really wasn't an issue. I should say, I reserved another room for my brother and he found a couple of roaches in his room as well.

The next morning was worse when we could see in the daylight the condition of our "free room" we earned while staying with ALL ChoiceHotels properties while on our two-week road trip. We never had any safety or cleanliness issues at any other CH property until we stayed at this Rodeway Inn in Rapid City, SD. Please see photos!

Let's put it this way...I wouldn't allow a dog to stay at this property. We felt as if we needed to be fumigated! Don't stay at this Rodeway Inn!

My room was broken into by someone who worked at the hotel (the door was tampered); either they used a swap key or a master key. I had my laptop external hard drive and other items stolen from my room. The management gave me a hard time about refunding my stay, and would not pay me for the items stolen from my room. The sad part is the general manager would not return my calls, and she told the staff when I call to say that she was not in. Additionally, the robbery occurred between 11:30 AM and 7:00 PM while I was away from the hotel. Something needs to be done. I know I will never see my items again, but I want the public to know to stay away from Rodeway Inn/Arlington Hotel located at Carmicheal Boulevard, Montgomery, Alabama. The management did not care at all.

My wife and I had guaranteed reservations there on June 17. I did not arrive there until 7:00 pm. The one-story motel sat right on the street and there was a large construction project going on right there. Their sign said they had weekly rentals and there was a large number of men hanging around in the parking lot. He gave me a key as I asked to see the room. The room was probably okay as I didn't give it much inspection. My wife and I didn't feel comfortable staying there.

I returned the key to the manager (probably owner) and told him the motel did not meet our expectations and we wouldn't be staying. He said he would have to charge me and I refused to sign anything else. We left and stayed in a Wingate. This was a two week trip and I stayed in some Comfort Inns, Sleep Inns and other nice hotels. I have travelled much and plan on traveling more. I have never left a hotel before.

I did not want to get in it with the manager so I didn't criticize his motel. However , It was a piece of junk. I notified Visa and they didn't see how to legally not pay it. I knew the rules of canceling but had not seen the hotel. The web site flattered it. I would love to hear from you. It is only $93 but I am upset. I missed the original turn and couldn't find it. I looked in the telephone book and it wasn't listed. I called a Rodeway which was 20 miles away and she told me where this was.

In addition to the payment for the room, the owner/operator/desk clerk charged a deposit - not a card on file. When I complained, he raised his voice, threw papers and declared "I will not let you stay here." I had to make other arrangements for the weekend.

He has obvious emotional problems and should not be dealing with the public. It is not worth staying there, even for the skid row prices. I had to stay elsewhere on a busy weekend and paid much more for a room farther away.

I booked a package deal with Expedia. The flight and car were true to the advertisement. I was excited at the thought of signing in to a place that was renovated and had pool and accommodations for non-smoking. I was even more excited when the employee told me I would be getting a room just steps away from the pool. As I checked into room 122 on July 9th, 2010 I was horrified. The room smelt of urine and smoke and I specifically asked for a nonsmoking due to the fact I was pregnant. There were bugs in the lamp shades.

I went to the bathroom and found out the toilet wouldn't flush, the tub had a brownish ring around the hole where the water exits, and the faucet in the tub was dripping. I wanted to cry so badly but there was another parent with me so I tried to hold it together. This was my first trip to Florida to see my little girl run at the AAU Nationals at the ESPN center at Walt Disney and it was ruined.

We booked on-line for 3 night over Thanksgiving at a rate of 49.00 a night which was very reasonable. We are from that area so I was not expecting the Ritz. We also had our schnauzer and lasa with us. Both dogs were kenneled the entire time they were in the room. The room was reasonably clean, but shabby paint coming off the bed, rust on the handicap bars, cracked tiles in the bathroom. When we arrived my husband told the girl at the desk that we had 2 dogs with us and she charged us an additional $10.00 a night - we had been expecting it to be 20.00. This was not a full motel. The day after Thanksgiving there was more traffic there with men with hunting dogs and the noise that goes with drunkeness. On the Monday after we returned to Chicago we were surprised that our debit card had 2 extra charges - 1 for 30.00 and 1 for 55.00. We were on a tight budget and this overdrew our account costing us 30.00 additional $. When we reached the manager who was Indian - we were told that we hadn't been charged for the dog - my husband did argue that he had told the girl 2 dogs in the first place, but let that one go. The manager then told us that we had left the bed filled with dog feces. This was not true at all but he held fast. We had gone to great pains to be sure that the room was clean that anything that should be in the garbage was etc. When my husband finally totally lost his temper and told the manager he was going to call corporate the manager said, go ahead that's what everyone else does'. While their charges are untrue it becomes a he said-she said issue and we will lose. What I find interesting is that by adding these extra charges the owner now gets the per room price he would have charged us if we'd booked the room directly through them. I don't think that's a coincidence. I certainly won't stay at a Rodeway again or any other hotel run by Indians since we also had a very bad experience in Kalkaska a few years ago and were told precisely the same thing -go ahead and call corporate everyone does. I don't twitter but my son does and I will be chatting with him about getting this word out. Don't use Rodeway and don't use the Choice Hotel chains. Anywhere.

I booked a room on line using Priceline(unaware that i was using that service). They immediately took the money from my checking. When I arrived after a three hour drive I quickly felt I was in a really bad/unsafe part of town. There were prostitutes at the corner gas staion, and some shady looking people walking across the parking lot with a big black trash bag over their shoulder. I went inside and complained that there was a mistake and I was not able to stay. I needed to cancel my reservation. The hotel manager climbed on a chair to twist a lightbulb in for light. His English was very hard to understand because he was from India. He said there was nothing he could do because I didn't make the reservation with him. I pleaded with him to be understanding. Not one car was in the parking lot. I felt like i was in a bad movie. He and his wife became quickly aggitated and both of them ganged up on me and were arguing with me. I was scarred and left immediately. It was dark with poor lighting outside by this time. After having to find a clean and safe room, I began calling around trying to get some assistance on this matter. Priceline said it was up to the hotel to refund me. They are just a third party. I called Choice Hotels who stated they are unable to help me because of the third party involvement. I sent e-mails, called corporate offices, with promises to follow up with me the next day-still nothing. It's been weeks, and everyone involved is refusing to help, and passing me on to the next. Is this how we do business in America? Don't get me wrong, I have offered everyone who I speak to my responsibility in all this, and that I believe in a cancellation fee being charged to me. I would even settle paying for the first night, if they would allow me to be forgiven for the second night. I didn't stay there at all for fear of my safety. Give me a break, how was I supposed to know 24 hours in advance that I booked a room in the ghetto of Fresno. Isn't that why we use a third party? Today I spoke to the hotel manager by phone trying to get some resolve in this matter. He said he would not consider it because lots of people book several night stays with him who don't stay there and they don't ask for a refund. Go Figure?

I came to the Dells with my mother who walks with a cane. I asked for a room that we could drive right up to so she wouldn't have to walk so far. Since the parking lot is not numbered, there was someone parking in the spot closest to the first room we received, which was room 313. I went back and waited in line for a good 15 min. in the lobby. Even though there were two people working behind the desk, the man just stood there and stared while the woman did everything. The first customer at the desk asked for a refund because his room was too small, not taken care of and the air conditioner didn't work. I should have taken that as a sign, but I didn't.
The second guy ahead of me told the staff that he had one room for three nights and they kept asking him, "Two nights?" "Two rooms?" and he got really frustrated. Finally I got up there and asked for a different room since my mother was handicapped and couldn't walk far. I then received keys for room 307. I went over to room 307 and the keys didn't work. I went back to the lobby once again and this time, the unfriendly male behind the desk walked over with me and couldn't open the door, either. He then put us next door in room 306 and brought us over some keys. We walked in and were greeted with a strong smell of mold. We were tired of moving around, though, so we thought we could put up with it. We turned on the AC to help the smell, but the AC was on high but didn't work at all! We also didn't have an alarm clock and ended up buying one so we could get up on time the next morning. The fridge wasn't very cold and there was a lamp that was missing a light bulb, so we only had two lights instead of three. We went out and bought an oscillating fan and some bathroom spray to help with the awful smell. We went into the bathroom to put the bathroom spray on top of the toilet and saw instantly what was causing the mold smell. There was black mold all over the floor and wall behind the toilet. I called and asked the unfriendly male to come over and look at the room. About 20 minutes later, he finally showed up and said he'd give us another room. I asked if he even wanted to see and know what the problem with this room was and then he reluctantly agreed and I showed him the awful bathroom. Then he walked back and forth outside trying to find us a room. Shouldn't you know which rooms are available if you work there??????????????? Finally, he said he could give us room 307 next door but it didn't have a key and wouldn't until the next morning. I said that was fine, that way my mom wouldn't have to walk so far. We moved in next door and this time, the AC and fridge worked well. We also had no moldy smell and an alarm clock, but no microwave. My mom stayed in the room anytime I went out so that I could get back in. The next morning, I walked over and asked for the key to our room since he said we'd get one. I was informed that the lock was broken and the nice lady at the desk said I could use a master key. I was uncomfortable with that and just made sure my mom opened the door any time I went out and came back. What kind of a place would hand out a master key to any guest?! If I had taken that, anyone could have known that and said I stole something and I wouldn't be able to prove I didn't, since I had the master key. It didn't make me feel at all comfortable that this place was willing to just hand out the master key.

On April 21, 2009, I made a reservation online with the Rodeway Inn Hotel in Jacksonville, FL. I received a change to my government orders on April 23, 2009 because I was instructed to stay at a hotel closer to where I was going to be working. On April 23, 2009, I called to cancel my reservation with the Rodeway Inn. The hotel I stayed at while I was stationed in Jacksonville was the Comfort Suites, so I stayed at the Comfort Suites from April 27, 2009 to May 29, 2009.

When I returned from my trip and I was going to pay my government credit card bill for the month, I discovered I was charged $1,271.25 on April 27, 2009 by the Rodeway Inn. When I called the Rodeway Inn to question the hotel about this charge and explain to them I had cancelled the reservation and I never stayed at their hotel or even set foot on their property, they told me because the hotel had booked me down for two reservations and when I called to cancel, they only cancelled one of the reservations. I was charged for the second reservation. I never made two reservations with the Rodeway Inn. I never even knew I had two reservations with the Rodeway Inn. Had I known this, I would have cancelled both reservations on April 23, 2009. I never set foot on the Rodeway Inn's property or stayed at their hotel. The entire time I was in Jacksonville.

I tried to contact the Rodeway Inn several times and explain they wrongly charged me, but each time they said if I did not have my cancellation number then they could not reverse the charge. When I talked to the Rodeway Inn regional manager (Mr. Phillip **) on June 16, 2009, I explained everything to him and he seemed to understand, and agreed to refund me my credit once Citibank sent him the forms/documentation for him to sign to reverse the charge. He never returned my calls and I discovered he quit and the new manager, Robb **, was going to be responsible for assisting me. I tried contacting Robb ** and he never returned my calls. I tried contacting the general manager/owner Mr. Harbir Grover and he never returned my calls. I have discovered the Rodeway Inn will be changing its name to the Quality Inn in August 2009. I believe they are trying to stall refunding my credit by waiting until they transfer their business under a new name.

I never stayed at the Rodeway Inn hotel in Jacksonville, FL the entire time while I was in Jacksonville from April 27, 2009 to May 29, 2009. I called to cancel my reservation several days before the scheduled booked date, but I never even knew there was a second reservation under my name. Had I known, I would have cancelled both rooms at the same time. I never visited, set foot inside or on the property of the Rodeway Inn hotel while I was in Jacksonville, FL. There is no reason why the hotel deserves to keep my money and I request full refund of this wrongful charge.

Rodent infested accommodations booked on 6/22 to 6/30/2009. I called the night manager Ann and requested 2 blankets. When I opened one blanket to place on the bed and I shook open the blanket, the rat/mouse droppings landed everywhere. I could not help but wonder about all of my linen used in my room. Was it also infested with rat mouse droppings and shaken out, not washed and placed in my room? I immediately called the night manager Ann and told her to come to my room. When she arrived, I showed her the rodent droppings, which infested the hotel blankets and now were everywhere after I opened one blanket and shook it open to place on my bed.

Since I charged my hotel reservation using American Express, I called AMEX and discussed my consumer shock, health concern fears and disgust relative to this rodent infestation I suffered. I was extremely worried as I know that rodents do carry rabies and the Hanta Virus, which is deadly in humans and the Hanta Virus can be caught from breathing rodent droppings since the virus is airborne, and there is no known cure. AMEX was also shocked and stated since this was a very dangerous human health hazard violation, I should open an AMEX dispute and also file a report with PA sanitation health department especially since I have a compromised immune system and have severe asthma, and also because rodents also carry the Hanta Virus and rabies, which to date have killed many humans and there is still no known cure for Hanta virus.

General manager Al ** also said I had options and could have asked for another room, as opposed to checking out early. I replied to Al ** by stating "your linens are kept in the same rat/mice infested area, so that would not change the fact that you have rodents in your hotel and on your property" and I suffered asthma attacks, got the hives and had to constantly use Benadryl and an asthma inhaler until I could find another vacancy elsewhere, which in the height of summer season was not that easy to do. I called Choice Hotels and lodged my consumer complaint. Choice Hotels Senior CSR Chuck told me Al ** never called Choice Hotels to report this rodent infestation incident.

I suffered and Chuck also informed me that the Rodeway Inn Italian Villa is a franchise, privately-owned and Choice Hotels is only the marketer, therefore Al ** deliberately lied to me twice and the first time was when I discussed a full refund with him upon early checkout. Al ** again lied to me when he stated Choice Hotels would only give me a 20% off room rate reduction for only one night, which was the night I suffered the consumer shock of requesting two blankets, opening the blanket to place on the bed and to my horror, watched rodent droppings sail through the air and land everywhere.

I was tossing and scratching for most of the night. I went into the bathroom and discovered my face are covered with small and large bumps. I removed my gown and found my left and right arm shoulders and my back were covered with bumps. Then I noticed some small bugs on my gown. I woke my boyfriend up to tell him I thought there maybe something in our bed. We pulled back the covers and notice several small and large bugs.

We got our camera out of the car and took pictures on the bugs and my body. We informed the management at the front desk. They did nothing. We checked out and went straight to a walk in clinic there I received proper medical attention. I remember the doctor saying, "Well, they don't bury themselves in your skin, they just bite." We went back to talk with management to see if they would do anything to help us with our expenses. The manager said the owner told him not to do anything for us and we could do whatever we wanted to do about our complaint.

This is not just my issue, this is a public health issue. I ended up spending my entire weekend unable to go in public because of people staring at me. My skin felt like it was burning when the sunlight hit it. I had a severe reaction to one of the medications I was given. I had to pay my medical bills and prescriptions, gas, time wasted speaking to management. Physically, some of the scars will stay forever on my body and I think the owners should be held accountable. They are supposed to insure that their premises are safe at all times. No one should have to go through this and not be treated with dignity and respect, or how about "I'm sorry."

We recently visited Virginia Beach with the intention of staying at the Rodeway Inn on Pacific Avenue. We had reserved a room, expecting not much for the price but at least a clean place. When we arrived, my wife and I walked through the room to which we were assigned prior to signing in, and we were absolutely disgusted. The room was filthy. Most notably was a stain on the floor beside the toilet. My wife said it appeared to be a smudge from a feminine pad.

The beds appeared as though housekeeping had just pulled the blanket back over the pillows. There was no way we were going to stay there. We complained and tried to get our deposit refunded, but to no avail. The manager wouldn't even give us his name. We got the feeling -- and we realize this is totally conjecture on our part -- that the manager knew we wouldn't stay there and just wanted to keep the first night's fee. We just got the impression that was something he's done frequently. We later learned his name is Sunny Gandhi.

In addition, the room was supposed to have a sofa, but it didn't. The hotel charged us $159.15 for something we didn't use -- and not because we wanted something different, but because we wanted something clean. We would understand losing this amount had we simply chosen another hotel because we didn't like this one. But we just couldn't stay there. We really thought it was a health risk. This hotel is a Choice Hotels affiliate but in no way measures up to other Choice facilities at which we've stayed. Choice has accepted our complaint but has done nothing. We lost $159.15.
