Booked a flight searching Kayak that sent me to chatdeal.com. Went to the airport and the airlines said the flight information was incorrect on the booking and my reservation was listed as "restricted". I called chatdeal and they said they would fix it but did not do anything and I missed the check-in time for the flight. I asked them to put me on another flight and they said they would but blamed the airline for not responding to their request. I called numerous times to try and get on the flight but they kept delaying and blaming the airline.

I then asked for a refund which they said they are putting in the request. I've noticed they are not actually doing anything and only saying they will put in a request but not actually putting in anything. This is a scam company that Kayak allows to utilize their site. Kayak used to be helpful directing people to airlines' website but they are now allowing third-party booking agencies on their site that are not actual agencies. This is a scam!!! Stay away from Kayak and their third-party booking agencies!!!

Everyone deserves honesty and full transparency in all of their business transaction. Mislead to increase bookings ie. said we could walk to the car pickup in d/t Vanc. from the Vanc. airport but it is a four hour walk. As well mislead via the price we booked thinking the booking was in Cdn dollars as the site provides no currency, but we booked in Canada at a Canadian car rental location. But it was in US. Hence they know when people pick up they likely won't cancel as it costs more to book on the day of a booking better to book a few days in advance or weeks etc.. to get the best price. This puts people at risk ie. if they don't have enough money in their budget to pay for the car or a shuttle bus from the airport as they think they can walk to their lodging from whichever airport they landed in.

I thought that I had booked a flight to Tel Aviv via Kayak which took me to FARESCAN (scammer emailed and called me via FARESCAN) saying my coming flight was not accepted by airline and that I needed to pay a difference, thankfully I didn’t but I now don’t have a fight. Scammer was willing to stay 15-20 mins on the phone until I had my credit card. He thought he had me. He even sounded upset.

I booked a ticket through KAYAK on 16th September 2022. Booking confirmation received the same time and it shows there is a problem in my booking. I clicked the link and, it shows, my booking has cancelled. I was so nervous and the seeing a mail from GOTOGATE agency located in Abu Dhabi, saying will be refunding my money back within 5 working days. It doesn't shows any reason to cancelled my booking. Reviews for GOTOGATE are so weird, they are doing the same for lot of people. KAYAK is entertaining scammers. If you wanna use KAYAK, check reviews for the sub agencies. Otherwise you gonna be scammed by people who born from **.

Kayak used to be a trustworthy site but not anymore! I found a ticket their website and they sent me to a partner site for the transaction and I ended up buying from Travelgenio and spent 3 months trying to get them to respond to my emails, cancel the ticket, give me a refund or voucher (which the airline said the tickets were eligible for) and ended up losing a lot of money because they have poor customer service and bad business practices. Kayak should be held accountable for pushing customers to untrustworthy, unscrupulous partners. Don't trust Kayak, go directly to the airlines instead.

If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible customer service. I am supposed to be flying across the world in less than a week, and Kayak did not inform us that our flight home was canceled. I found out and tried to rebook through them, it turns out they could not book me until a different day at midnight, and could not book two of my friends on the same flight. One of my friends they have not even found a flight for her home yet. So now we have four girls flying separately to a foreign country and one might not even make it home. TERRIBLE COMPANY! I regret not booking directly through the airlines.

My friends and I recently booked a flight to Thailand through Kayak and it has been the worst experience! The airline canceled the flight home and Kayak didn't alert us in any way. I was on hold with Kayak customer service for 5 HOURS trying to book a flight home and I kept getting transferred and put on hold. I was told there were no return flights without upgrading and paying additional fees AFTER I had paid my original price. I was promised a callback by a representative and never received one. I finally got a new flight and they still haven't sent me a confirmation email even though I rebooked OVER 48 HOURS AGO. My friend rebooked a flight and hasn't gotten a confirmation email even though it's been 6 DAYS! My friends and I reached out to customer service again and they still haven't gotten back to us. This has been a TERRIBLE experience and I will never use Kayak again. DO NOT USE KAYAK!

Do not trust KAYAK with airline bookings outside of the US on non-US airlines. We booked a ticket through KAYAK and the website behaved as if the booking was being done through the KAYAK engine and went through the entire booking process without mentioning that they were actually outsourcing the booking to a BOGUS THIRD-PARTY SCAM site called GOTOGATE. Only when everything got processed and they booked our tickets did I get an email confirmation not from KAYAK but from GOTOGATE.

And the fun does not stop there. We learned the hard way what a scam GOTOGATE is when we needed to cancel the booking because of Covid-related issues preventing travel. Once we contacted GOTOGATE to cancel our $75 ticket from Kolkata to New Delhi or Air India, they said that in addition to the Air India cancellation fee of $45 they will charge an extra $70 to cancel the tickets. Imagine what a scam these guys are - they are asking me to pay an extra $70 as their administrative fee to cancel the ticket.

And KAYAK never told us anything about this outsourcing to the third party SCAMMER. So don't book on KAYAK. Go to any of the other sites such as Expedia, Booking.Com and others where all they charge is the airline cancellation fee and refund the rest of the amount. WE WILL NEVER USE KAYAK AGAIN. Who knows where else they will outsource your booking without telling you.

I have been using Kayak for years and generally have found that the agencies on Kayak, even if I never heard of them, were above board. This morning I bought a ticket through Kayak through an agency called mytrip. An hour later I realized I needed to cancel and book differently - the airline charged me a 40% fee! When I did some research on mytrip and the true agency, gotogate in Florida, I discovered a string of 1 star reviews and an F rating with the BBB. When I contacted Kayak they said they will try to help by contacting their mytrip rep but are not able to assist any other way.

The lesson here is that Kayak provides no screening for the agencies they list on their site. Any screening would have found the red flags I found after the fact. As such they are allowing predatory travel agencies on their site. Be careful when booking through Kayak, just because they list the agency doesn't mean they are a reputable agency!

I booked a flight in 2021 through Kayak and had to cancel due to corona virus and rebook for 2022. They have an exchange service which I contacted. It took several phone calls and many hours on hold to get an agent to take care of me. Then, the email link they sent me to confirm the changes didn't work. It was a pure nightmare experience, and on top of that, I had to pay an additional $600 per ticket for the exchange. The whole experience took in excess of 30 hours.

Kayak's advertising department needs to STOP with the biased ads, where they make men appear stupid and ignorant and the females superior. Unless Kayak doesn't need men as customers. It's not very business savvy to alienate a customer base by offending said potential clients. Most travel expense is bore by men, as they are the primary bread winners, and command a higher income than the female consumers. I know that Kayak's biased activities have lead my household to spend our travel expense funding with other agency's, rather than Kayak, due to the offending advertising. That type of advertising, that offends men, affects Kayak's revenue generating (sales), and hurts the bottom line, annual profit. It's the principle of the matter, most men won't do business with a company that offend them. It's human nature.

I looked up prices for flights and upon finding a reasonable priced round trip service I attempted to book through Kayak. I was redirected without warning to another site ** that has only 1 star reviews. Upon completing the booking process through what I thought was a Kayak service, this secondary site Kiwi, unbeknownst to me changed the end date of my flight. Now I am left with the financial responsibility to book my original flight seen on Kayak or left to accept the altered booking from this secondary travel agency. Kiwi charges a large fee for any changes and Kayak's redirect made me use this untrustworthy site. Kiwi says my booking has no connection to Kayak since the redirect took me directly to their site and there is no proof Kayak was involved at all on their end.

I called again the next day, this time Kai seems to be more helpful a little bit since He could find other options in 30 mins. But they are all too expensive. When I tried to contact Kayak to get a refund, they strung me along, saying they’ll contact airline. Well, it’s one week past that said flight and despite follow-ups, Kayak did not follow through. As the travel agent, they have a responsibility to their customers and it’s clear they are not following through with said responsibility.

Updated on 11/05/2020: Just imagine if you clicked on a link Google gave you and somehow, $1200 was stolen from you because you clicked on the link. You would say that Google was responsible, right? Especially if that link had a formal business relationship with Google! That's Kayak. These people are IRRESPONSIBLE for their resellers. Kiwi.com stole $1,200 from me. Oh, I know, they didn't "steal" it: My refund is in process for six months. And the company that introduced me to these sleazebags? KAYAK.COM.

Of course, Kayak has responded to me, but it's all the same, blah, blah, "we can't do anything", "we're just a search engine"... Yeah! A search engine that connects you to international criminal organizations! The worst is that Kiwi.com saves money by denying support. You got it. There is literally no one to talk to because I did not pay extra for email support. The phone support just hangs up on me. Is this a bug? Or is it a criminal organization? Kayak doesn't care either way. Be very careful never to use Kayak for international travel. I hold them responsible for what happened to me. When I book any flight now, I use Hotwire.

Original Review: I never got into trouble with Kayak for domestic US flights. (Unless you count the time I learned the hard way never to fly Spirit Airlines.) The first time I used Kayak to book internationally was the last time I used Kayak, ever. They obviously don't vet their resellers. I get that you're a search engine, but if you return bad results, it makes you a bad search engine. Now, too late, I have learned a painful, useless lesson never to buy Kiwi.com or through Kayak.com.

I'll run it down for you if you want more details. I bought a booking to Croatia through Kayak, from Kiwi. They changed my flight twice. Once on Jan 30, and again on Feb 4. Both changes were with longer layovers. You are offered to pay more to keep your original layovers, but if you do not pay more, Kiwi obviously considers themselves to be selling you the same product that you bought. So now it will take me 35 hours. Fine. I am a tough guy. I will sit in the airport and read a book for 12 hours in Dublin or Warsaw or where ever they change my layover to.

This morning, the coronavirus hit Croatia. I wanted to call to ask if I could cancel. No problem, here's a phone number. I call it, enter my booking number and it says, "An error has occurred. Please call again later." I called again, not much later, same thing. I called a third time and it's one of those IVR systems that feels it's justified in hanging up on you if you don't enter your booking number. Smug ** IVR. No problem, I'll email. Ooops! I bought the 'basic' package that has no email support. So literally, I cannot call or email anyone about my booking. I replied to the email and received an autoreply directing me to kiwi.com. There is literally nothing I can do about my booking now. I will never use Kayak or Kiwi.com ever again.

Horrible! Still at ACE rental car in Sacramento trying to get my rental. Your site advertised a Hotwire deal and nowhere does it say “it is at least 20 minutes away and there is no shuttle, but an Uber service you have to call through and wait for”. REALLY!!?? I found out while in the Sac airport rental bldg, that ACE is NOT in this bldg. I called Ace and they said (after 2 people) that they would call me back in 10 minutes of where to meet uber. Over 30 minutes later, I called them back and they said they can’t pick me up at rental car bldg and that I needed to go back to airport. After complaining, they said they can send an Uber to rental car bldg. I finally got to ACE rental car and am now standing online waiting - it has been over an hour since I hopped on shuttle to rental car booth and still no car.

This is ridiculous and I don’t have time to waste and am missing work meeting now. You need to advertise correctly. If all rental cars are off-airport, that doesn’t tell someone that ifs not the close REAL rental car bldg!! AND no shuttle! I never would have rented from here! And now the car insurance is $26/day and I don't have any other options as I am in the middle of nowhere!!! More than the vehicle itself!
