Incredibly awful customer service. Not only was the estimate way off, they sprang crating charges on me, made me pay under duress, promised to remedy it, and then didn't. They also lost some of my items, delivered me someone else's belongings, and then tried to play victim when I pointed this all out. They refuse to fix their mistakes. It's absolutely wild. Whatever you do, avoid Cynthia **--she will rip you off and then blame you.

Moving with JK was the worst experience I have had with any company. Some of the highlights: showed up over 1 day late for move. Over-charged by more than $4000 for unnecessary shuttle services. Destroyed property, including electrical box causing a safety hazard, hot water heater, and refused to pay for damages. Crew was too small for the job (3 movers for a 3000 sq foot house!). Crew members inexperienced, hostile and disrespectful to owners, neighbors, etc. The list goes on and on. We have a family of 5, and during a stressful time in our lives JK made the moving process an absolute nightmare. The worst part has been their complete refusal to accept responsibility for what they have done and apologize. Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

f I could give this “company” less than -10 stars I would. Their services are an absolute joke and while we received our items on time, several were broken because of improper packing and handling. We were told we needed an extra day of packing due to the size of our move. At first the packers were delayed and then straight up canceled. They showed up 30 minutes later than their promised window and told us they could pack everything in a day - three hours max the following day.
As I’m sure you can assume, they spent the entire day at our old house, delayed our cleaners and junk removal service, and complained about the state of the house. NOT TO MENTION they destroyed our electrical box at the end of our driveway, bumped our hot water heater causing it to not produce hot water, and ran over our neighbors plants. I just received an email that even though the driver admitted to breaking an electrical panel and exposing wires, this wasn’t JK’s fault. Not sure on what planet this insurance adjuster is living on but the air must be thin. In addition to this insanity, JK forced us to use a shuttle service at our old house and new. At our old house they loaded it and moved the “shuttle” which is a U-Haul van ten feet and unloaded it into a semi. This severely delayed the schedule for no reason at all.
JK moving then went on to bring our belongings to another state and then to our new home over 200 miles away. Things started out better at our new home when the crew arrived. This was only because JK contracted outside crew for basically no money what so ever. The driver was asleep the entire day both at the stop he chose for the U-Haul shuttle. He came in for less than an hour to find two items I was missing. Then left us with to reassemble all of our lamps and chairs. Another worker complained the entire day while I watched him drop fragile boxes off the semi and place boxes upside down. It took six hours and one of the outside movers to call and scream at the driver to tell him to bring the semi for it to be brought closer to our house. He was told that we told him he couldn’t bring the semi. We said no such thing.
So long story short, JK moving is horrible, they’re only out for their inflated pay and they call asking for more money because they forgot to charge. Please feel free to hire them if you hate yourself or your belongings but don’t expect them to take any responsibility for anything ever. DON’T DO IT.

The company lied to me, telling me the loaders and unloaders were all full-time JK employees, not true. They were day laborers. The driver did not properly tag/inventory my belongings, disappeared for 2 hours leaving the loaders unsupervised, numerous items were severely damaged in transit because they weren't properly loaded, 2 boxes are missing, they lied about when they would try to deliver and then delivered 2 days AFTER the delivery window. And now is not paying me for all my damage even though I had full value coverage. I would NEVER use them again and should not have used them this time. Two thumbs down.

We used them for moving and also for storage. Choose someone else! Shady business with last minute charges that were way over the estimate. Our belongings were already loaded on the truck so there was nothing we could do about it. Do not recommend!!

Narrative HHG move packing out Dominik Daul I was informed by JK Moving that the packers will come on 11/14/2024 in the morning at 8am to pack my belongings. In the house, I had prepared everything as good as I could, with labeling each item with stickers indicating: PACK or STAY and bringing downstairs crates and boxes for ease of labeling and loading.
Around 11am I contacted JK Moving and inquired about the movers not being there, I was told that they are "on their way". At 2pm the van from "Wes Steward Corporation" showed up with a driver and a helper with an injured leg who was heavily limping and clearly in pain. They told me that their dispatcher had them pack out another house before mine, in Portsmouth, VA, about 90min drive from my house. I asked to reschedule and was told no they can get it done that day. The staff seemed exhausted, had no lunch break, and started packing my things, clearly rushing. I tried to keep and eye on things since they kept forgetting items that were labeled "PACK" or failed to look in cabinets.
Somewhere around 7pm they ordered another truck from their dispatcher, a box truck this time, since they realized that they could not get everything packed and stacked in the wooden crates that were intended for shipping. They moved everything into the box truck. Again I asked several times to stop and come back in the morning, since I was getting worried about the quality of the packing as well as the health of the staff. I went and bought pizza and sodas so they would have at least something to eat. They started moving loose items into the box truck, assuring me that everything would be packed and labeled and prepped into the wooden crates for shipping back in their warehouse.
By 9:30pm it was fully dark when they started with the garage items, I had to provide light with my car so they could see what to pack - they finished by 11pm. There was no itemized list or clear labeling what was in any given box, except some boxes from the beginning of the packing in the afternoon. Upon delivery in February 2025, it turned out there were at least 11 boxes without sticker or item number, no way to cross check or assure that nothing was missing.
Looking at the long list of missing items, it was clear that someone went through the shipment at any given point . The pictures from GrosJean Delivery taken at port in France when they took charge of the shipment showed that the Wes Stewart Corporation" had just tossed everything in the wooden crates- thus resulting in way more space than initially planned by JK Moving and I had to pay a surcharge.
When unpacking the boxes I found several items that I had labeled clearly as STAY have been packed and shipped. These were heavy, bulky items like electric household appliances (microwave, toaster oven, mixer, kitchen machine etc) that cost even more money to ship and to dispose off and that are completely useless in France due to the different electric current.
Not one single box arrived undamaged, tools, small items, personal items were rolling around loose, many boxes were ripped open, my document bins were not marked not sealed and clearly opened, and I was standing there looking items that were precious to my late wife, wedding gifts or birthday presents, tossed together, glass packed with cast iron cookware, books bent and ripped, unique precious items with memories attached, that I had even labeled "FRAGILE", broken and damaged. Lots of the items are not even replaceable anymore, so even an insurance claim payout would not really fix the greater problem.
JK Moving holds the responsibility for choosing their contractors, and I hold JK Moving responsible for the damage, the financial loss and the pain and distress that this has caused me. I feel strongly that JK Moving should take responsibility for choosing a bad contractor, and compensate me on top of the insurance claim for losing items that can not be replaced. The response from Bridget Walsh, "Global Client Services" was a 3 line copy and paste reply referring me to the insurance company. No acknowledgement of wrongdoing, no offer to compensate me for the loss of really emotionally precious items from our marriage and my late wife. No compassion or empathy. Just "File the insurance claim."
The process from the insurer was extremely difficult, tedious, and clearly designed to deter as many clients from finishing it. The payout was less than half of what has been stolen, and of course there is no price to be put on unique items that have been acquired over decades of marriage and travel from all over the world. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE JK MOVING. The quality of a company shows when things go wrong, and boy, it showed in my case. JK Moving - worst ever.

We recently had a horrible experience with this company. First, they gave us an estimate and then doubled it by the time we made it to our new home. They arrived to pack a 5,000 sq ft house with 2 people and then complained that it was too much the entire time. I ended up packing and taking apart items. By the time we received our boxes and furniture in the move, there were numerous broken items and boxes were mislabeled. Our furniture and boxes at some point had standing water on them because we had stains all over anything cloth. The people that unloaded the truck talked about how poorly it was packed which contributed to numerous breakages of wood furniture.
After the move, no one reached out to say anything about the damage. Instead we were referred to their claims department which has been the WORST. They have no customer service and if I could give them a negative rating I would. They did not deny they broke our items but then they claim "deductible" that is then returned to them so they do not have to "pay" for what they destroyed. We also had numerous missing items. Their policies are borderline criminal. The response was that if we wanted to have better service and coverage we should have been willing to pay more than the $18,000 we paid for them to arrive with our possessions.

I am in the middle of my disastrous move with JK Moving from Toronto to the US. So far, the “partner” they use in Toronto got our destination address wrong 3x so the packers were unable to attach stickers to my boxes as they packed them and all had to be reprinted the following day. We are moving a 4 BR house from Toronto to NJ. Although having an inventory list with EVERY item we are moving, I was informed on a Friday afternoon (truck pulls out on Tuesday and nobody works on the weekend) that somehow JK miscalculated the inventory by over 1200 cubic ft! This means the cost will go up AND our goods may not fit on the 53’ trailer, they told us.
They also informed me on Friday afternoon that if this is the case, I would need a second shipment which I would be responsible for the costs associated even though I provided a complete and accurate inventory list that was done by virtual tour with the JK representative TWICE. As if these issues weren’t enough they informed me that although scheduled for Wednesday departure, the truck will now pull out on Tuesday which means we have to secure a hotel WITH 2 dogs for one night. When I pushed back I was told that if the truck did not leave Tuesday there is not another truck available until Nov 5th. Did they not know this scheduling problem when they started packing up my house??
Lastly, I repeatedly asked for the name and address of the storage destination in the US because JK continued to give me the city and state but not an actual address. When I got angry and demanded the physical address, they had secured a storage facility in another city, 40 min away from our destination city. I demanded they change it to the city I had requested which had been on every email sent by JK stating Robbinsville, NJ AS the destination city. In changing the destination to the correct city my estimate became thousands of dollars more for a city only 40 min away.
This is the worst business practice. They hide information, lie, and raise your costs every chance they get. This has been the most stressful move in all of our 9 moves. Now that my goods are almost all packed (by their partner) I am told I won’t know the real cost until it’s on the truck and at that time I am required to pay in full. We are talking about a $30k move. This is not peanuts and we are paying for it ourselves.
All of our previous moves have been paid for by the companies we worked for but we used Allied and United in the past. We have never had a problem with them. I never understood the horror stories of moving until now. In four months our company is moving us out of storage and to our next location. JK will NOT be an option. I cannot believe how awful this experience has been and am not confident it will improve as we get closer to the finish line. Use a company who actually comes to your home to inventory it. You are certainly paying for it!

We did a ton of research before choosing JK Moving. We had a lot of very heavy items to move and, having moved them in the past, didn't want that stress. It was a whole house move, just 8 large items. They were provided with the measurements, weight and videos of each item. They stated they wouldn't have a truck in the area so would use a partner, which was fine. The communication leading up to the move date was a mess. Apparently I repeatedly was confused with another customer so kept getting information intended for them. When the movers showed up it was 2 men with a truck and ramp. I asked why there wasn't a lift gate and they said they had not my received the contract as they were driving over. I will say that these men were great outside of being completely set up to fail. They were able to move some of the items, then. My husband had to help with one. They decided to try to get help.
A man shows up smelling like weed, which I only care about because he was pretty quickly banding one of his tools against our lathe. When my husband yelled at him to knock it off he responded "it's not the end of the world." The two men with the moving company jumped in and told him he was out of line, he threw a tantrum and left. So they got different help and thank goodness they were better. After borrowing some equipment from my husband they were able to get the lathe up the ramp. Watching these items be loaded without the appropriate equipment was incredibly stressful. We were so worried the lathe would tip and hurt someone. On top of that, the lathe and a couple other items were inherited and had sentimental value.
We did not save any stress from hiring this company. When I told them of my experience they gave me instructions on how to file a claim for the 5 dollar piece of rubber the man broke while banging on the lathe. When I told them the issue wasn't the damage as much as them bringing that man into our home and us having such a negative experience. They then stated they would use our experience to improve the experience for future customers. The end.

Not a good moving company. I have used many professional moving companies over the years from across town moves to multi state moves. I would say this was the worst moving company thus far. First, the estimation process was inadequate. The day the moving truck arrived, it was already half full with someone else's items. The movers tried their best, but they had to end up strapping several items to the back of the truck, exposed to the elements. Then the movers had to travel to another client with our stuff on board to deliver half of the truck. This was not explained to us in the quoting process. We contacted the company to explain our frustration, and they shrugged it off stating this was common policy.
BTW...this company is FAR from cheap, so I expected more for the money. The boxes they used were cheap. Most of them buckled under minimal weight. Little care was taken in the packing and storage. Heavy items were placed on top of lighter boxes. Fragile items were not treated any different. We ended up with a couple broken items and a bent corner of our TV.
To top it all off, the guys who hooked up our dryer hooked it up incorrectly, failing to tighten a wire. This caused an electrical short (arc) which was hot enough to burn through the back panel of the dryer! Luckily, our dryer was a newer/smart dryer and shut itself off to prevent a house fire. This was a severe safety hazard! We had to end up getting a new dryer for which we made the company pay. I would not recommend this company as they were incompetent from the start. The estimation process was way off, driving up the cost. No care in packing. Boxes were cheap. Damage to appliances. Look elsewhere for movers.

The final cost ended up being less than what they quoted. There were a couple of things that were damaged. But they reimbursed us for those.

JK Moving Group moved me from Florida and a friend of mine from DC. My friend knew them because they had moved two of the presidents that she worked for up there. So, that was a pretty good reference and they assured me they could and they did. I chose them based on the reference from someone who knew them from the White House. It was rather a large move for me and I wasn't gonna choose somebody that might have the best price because I needed to know everything was gonna be safe and show up like it should. I had them do packing, too. So, I took the full service. They did the boxes. I supervised as they did that. We had a packing day, a loading day, and then they started getting ready for the drive. So, it was like I had a five-day process because I also had my cars towed up here by another company that ties in with them.
I had three dogs to move. So, my daughter and I rented a large van to take the dogs on the trip up from Florida to Iowa and we got here before they did, but it's the way it is. We got here a couple of days before they arrived to unload. The same people showed up every day for me, which was important. The driver was part of the loading and packing crew, and there was a woman that was leading the whole team. The driver, knowing that he knew me in Florida, was driving my items up here, and he was here when they unloaded them. It made a big difference. It was the same driver throughout the whole process. He knew to call me if they got stuck anywhere due to snow. I said, "Call me and, you know, tell me what's going on." He said, "I'll call you and see how the weather is when I get closer to Iowa." I was moving to an area with a hill and that great big truck needed some space.
They arrived earlier than expected, but he called me. He had the crew show up from the area. They have a network of people they call when they go to different states. The crew showed up mid-morning on a Sunday. I had to start work the following Monday. He got here a day early for me. So, he went out of his way to make some headwind on the first day of driving and said, "I will see you Sunday. Even though they told you Monday, I will see you Sunday." Overall, I had a positive experience with it. One thing was broken. It was a glass item that wasn't an antique. But with the furniture they wrapped up, they didn't break any glass shelves on my antiques. It was a very good move. I could never have imagined how hard it was gonna be, and having experts that did it all the time was really important to me.

JK Moving wasn't truthful with us. They loaded our household goods on their truck and took it somewhere and had it throwed it off the truck. They left it there overnight and loaded it back up again. That was when they broke a lot of stuff. They broke the legs off the furniture and busted the coffee table frame. They took pictures of it all. Then they called Columbus and had two guys down to do the unloading. They handled stuff properly. But they didn't elaborate on the broken stuff because they knew it wasn't right. One guy did take pictures of it and I showed him some of the stuff and he agreed.
They moved along pretty good. They didn't drag around. They worked all the time they were there. They packed some of the stuff real good, but some of the stuff, they didn't. They tried to hide that they throwed in a box and let it go at that. There was no packing at all. Some of the boxes were damaged. It was a bad experience. I wouldn't recommend JK Moving and I wouldn't use them again. It'll be ok if they wanna move cargo or some kind of crates, but they shouldn't be involved in household goods.

I've used JK Moving four times over the course of 14 years and the customer service is good. We've had the same service rep each time. More than that is the care that they take with protecting both where you're moving from and where you're moving to, which is noticeable and different than other movers. The quotes are accurate. It’s high but you get what you pay for. The crew have been very good and professional. Typically, they have good chemistry. I've never noticed any conflict among the different crews and it seemed all have been very rehearsed in the training that they get in the warehouses. Everything has made it timely and intact. There might have been the edge of a chair that might have been scratched or damaged, but that was once in 14 years. If JK could lower the price in the same quality, it would be better.

I moved from Virginia to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and I was disappointed that JK Moving couldn't give me a better date as to when the furniture would arrive. Prior to pick up, they would only say that it would be sometime between two and six days after pickup. Once they did the pick up, they said it would be a couple days and they couldn't be more specific. They called me beforehand though.
I was surprised that the main crew was a driver, his son and his 64-year-old mother. She didn't move a lot of furniture, but she did all the inventory and helped with packing. They were good. A small piece fell off my dining table when they were packing it, and they fixed it up and put some glue on and tape over it when they got down here. That repaired it, so I was happy with that.

The two people I worked with were wonderful getting the move set up. The only complaint was I was the third load on a truck that they had to use, and stuff was mixed in. There was some broken stuff when I got here. It was confusing with loading my load with two other stops. Other than that, the crew was very professional and they were very focused on what they were doing. They packed a needle in a haystack.

The move wasn't cheap. The problem came in when I talked to JK moving about storing my stuff. They said, "Well, it's like two moves. You moved to your house n Virginia and you put it in storage, and then you turn around. And when you want it in Pittsburgh, you have to pay again, like a second move." The people that they had who drove the trucks down here in Florida and in Pittsburgh were absolutely outstanding. You couldn't ask for better employees. JK was flexible. The only thing that I wish could have been handled better is that they could have put stuff in storage instead of me storing it in the house that I sold. Other than that, they were accommodating so that was good.

The rep was very accessible, knowledgeable, and helpful. However, I had a bad experience. We had a car parked in the driveway that their people who did the loading and unloading said we did not have to move. And they ended up scratching it and saying that they didn't do it. JK Moving said they would talk to their people. We heard from them, but it was hard to get responses back from them. They went dark on us, versus the first lady who we talked to was fabulous. She was there when I called. She got right to me. They denied anything that happened.
Besides the car, they had some small damages to several pieces of property. They were small, but for us, it would have been expensive. I purchased nice outdoor furniture that I saved a long time for. And they wrapped it. But what they didn't tell us was when they wrapped it and put them in the truck, there was a rubbing up and down because it traveled long distance. So, the finish on the outside on every chair and couch that I had was ruined because it was metal. They pack it tight, so hopefully, it doesn't move around. But when you're going across state, it rubs. Those finishes were a dark and a brown. They tried to make it look like wood. So, when I paint it, it has to be a solid color. There were other pieces of furniture that rubbed. My two recliners rubbed on the front. It's a different color because it wore way down.
JK Moving didn't take fault with anything. But to make us feel better, they gave us $150, which is nothing. That wouldn't fix it. JK Moving doesn't take responsibility. We rented a house because we were building. And we moved into a brand-new house. They hit the doorway when they came in. And they were supposed to wrap our stuff. If they don't wrap something like they're supposed to, we have to watch for that. Because if we don't report it, then no harm, no foul. They eventually wrapped halfway through their unloading, after they took a big gash out of the door jamb, which I'm now responsible for. They took pictures before they left. It was wrecked. I had pictures. It was unwrapped. I showed them my pictures which are time- and date-stamped with the phone.
And the other thing that was annoying was after they loaded and we were trying to get out of the place, they left their truck in the driveway. They needed to swap trucks because they couldn't leave yet. So, they went and unhooked the cab and left. They left this semi, which they said they would be right back. They blocked us in so we couldn't move it even if we wanted to. It was over two hours that the house was packed. And it was dinner time. My husband's diabetic. So, we just sat here, waited for them to come back, called while they were trying to find them.

JK Moving's sales rep came out and talked to us, and I was very happy with them. Their prices were all in the same ballpark. The crew packed the pictures and mirrors. We packed something there that should have stayed, and because that was the driver's home base, the next time he went back, he took it with him. So, they helped us out very nicely. I would recommend JK Moving. Use them. They're a good company. They made our move very easy.

Then they sent an email with the quote. I appreciate the honesty and the straightforwardness, which was the selling point to me. I figured they would be a little bit higher, but I'd rather pay what you get. Also, there was no hidden fees. At the end of the day, the final cost was less than what I was quoted.
The moving crew was great and very pleasant. They made sure the hardwood floors and the carpet was covered where they walked on. The boxing and the packing of fine china was immaculate. They had no problems picking up but we had to wait on delivery because I didn't have my house yet and I used a new place. So, they put it in storage.
The drivers contacted when they got here, and let us know it reached the destination and that it was in storage. They also gave me all the information on the storage place. The crew was great and very friendly. They had questions they asked and if I had any questions, I asked them. Even my contact rep was very helpful and got back to me right away with any questions. JK Moving Services seemed responsible and reasonably priced, and the people who recommended them are pretty particular. So if they were happy, I figured I'd be happy. We moved about 500 miles and for the most part, everything came through okay. There were a couple of things that were broken, but that's expected in a big move. I would recommend JK. I was researching moving companies to get an idea of how much it will cost me for an upcoming move, so I sent JK Moving for an estimate. What I ended up getting was multiple daily phone calls and/or IMs telling "Ready to move? Use us!" "Call us so can move you!" "You still have time to call us for your move!" What I did NOT get was the estimate I hoped for, because when I called them back there was never anybody in the office, and nobody called saying "We'd like to discuss your estimate...."
When I finally got through to somebody they couldn't even begin to tell me what I asked for, but they took my message not to call me I'd call them when I was looking to move. Of course, I STILL got calls and texts for the next month (during the Holiday when I was expecting calls and texts from friends and family), just not so many. I swear, Collection Agencies are less harassing.

Where to even begin. The loading crew showed up late and unprepared. They did not bring the appropriate paperwork and asked me to print it. Yes, let me unpack my printer, find paper and do your job for you. One guy showed up almost two hours late, hung over with an upset stomach. He destroyed my bathroom. I had to clean up feces and puddles of urine while trying to move out of my home. We were an out of state move from Texas to Colorado. We kept trying to get updates on where the truck was and when it would arrive. JK had no idea because they subcontracted us to another mover after we explicitly stated that we did not want to be subcontracted and if they were going to subcontract us we would go with someone else. Our TV's arrived broken. I have dozens of framed photos that have been shattered. Furniture arrived dirty and damaged. Numerous boxes were damaged and wet on arrival. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

DO NOT USE THEM. Did not send enough staff for the move. Crew was at the house for two full days, had to postpone closing of the house because the movers were not done. Original quote was for just under 10K. Just received new total for 24K. This is absurd and I will not go quietly about it. DO NOT USE THEM.

I'm being charged the full amount for a move that didn't happen due to a cancellation I had to make because the moving coordinator couldn't return my call to confirm an available day. I had to work with another moving company who had an opening on that day instead. In the meantime, due to their "contract" they expect me to pay $918.00. For 30 years of moves including cross-country moves, I've never had a problem with movers. This is a first. I'm contacting an attorney.
