I'm giving one star for this review because the site did not give me the option to give no stars. I paid almost $800 for a Travel Insured (out of Glastonbury, CT) for a trip to Europe. I filed my claim (relating to COVID of course) in April 2020 and I am still waiting for resolution. If I had only looked here before engaging them... Like most of the other reviews I've read about Travel Insured, they have asked for the same documentation over and over I assume in the hope I will go away. And they were always going to "escalate it" for me to another level but that resulted in no movement on the claim.

I have never been able to speak to "Tara" the analyst assigned to my case but I have no reason to believe Tara has any interest in processing this claim and cutting me a check as I deserve. Also, Like a few other mentioned in their reviews, I bought this through Insuremytrip.com and they also bear responsibility for working with this company. Let's be clear, pandemic or not (because that's the excuse some companies are using right now), in my opinion, this is either complete incompetence by Travel Insured or a concerted effort to drag the process on for everyone so that many of us will just go away out of frustration.

My policy clearly states under trip cancellation coverage A "Benefits will be paid up to maximum benefit for non refundable prepaid payments you made for travel arrangements.'' The policy further goes on to state that other covered reasons include quarantine (see page 10 section a). On March 26, 2020 the Canadian government invoked the Quarantine Act shutting down the border between the United States and Canada to unnecessary traffic quarantining us from entering their country. This resulted in a loss of our pre paid non refundable payments we made to the travel company and the airline. The company refused to pay for my loss.

I purchased travel insurance from Travel Insured International for a trip that was cancelled due to COVID-19. I filed the claim within days of the cancellation, and in fact filed it 3 times after being told it hadn't been received. Receipt was only acknowledged once I pointed out that their online system indicated it had been received! I spent HOURS and HOURS on hold on the phone trying to talk with a representative. I was repeatedly told someone would call me back, the matter would be elevated to a supervisor, denied direct access to the person handling the claim, and the ultimate insult was when I was YELLED at by someone answering their phone who told me they had thousands of claims to deal with. Overall experience was insulting, inefficient, and only finally resolved about 5 months later once we contacted our State Insurance Board to intervene. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Filed a claim for trip cancelled because of military restrictions on travel during COVID pandemic in March 2020. Submitted the required documents in June 2020 and have not been paid for my losses in the 9 months since then. At this point, I demand full payment of my claim as well as a partial refund of my policy due to their gross negligence.

We bought 2 policies from Travel Insured International in 2019 for cruises in 2020. All cruises were canceled by the cruise lines & our cruise money returned by the cruise company. Travel Insured International would not return any of the cost of the most expensive policy which was $1312. I sent emails & letters explaining the situation. I received 1 email in return saying they don't cover a pandemic or cancelation by the cruise line. We cost them nothing & yet they will refund nothing. We even offered to get them a letter from our doctor stating we can not travel because we are over 70 with underlying health conditions. They said no. Horrible company with horrible customer service! I'd give them no stars if I could!!

Travel Insured International out of Glastonbury, CT, after requesting and getting info from me three times took 7 months to deny my refund. The trip was cancelled due to Coronavirus, we had no control. They have ignored my phone messages and emails. I strongly urge others with the same to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and with the governing insurance board that oversees them.

I purchased travel insurance from Travel Insured International, Inc. I had to cancel my trip to Germany due to COVID-19. It took them 8 months to decline payment, since traveling to a foreign country during a global pandemic is not in their list of acceptable cancellation reasons. I can understand why they denied my claim. What I don't understand is why it took them 8 months to decline the claim. Why, after 4 months of filing my claim, did they request that I send them invoices, credit card statements, proof of cancellation, and more for a claim they knew they wouldn't pay? During the process they did not respond to emails or answer phone calls. The only way I got response from Travel Insured International, Inc. was by contacting the Department of Insurance.

In January we purchased "cancel for any reason" policy for trip to Switzerland in June (which ended up being cancelled by airlines). Submitted a claim in June and have been calling and emailing repeatedly. Trying to get our non-refundable portion of expenses ($500) paid to Untours. All we get is a run around. Nobody is interested in doing anything for us -- just say they'll get someone to look into it and blame Covid! Never use this company. I don't ever expect to get my money back. Does anyone know if there is a class action suit against them?

Everything about this company appeared in order from the reviews I read, but their claim processing appears to be a disaster. I submitted a claim in May for travel originally scheduled for March. Since submitting the form there has not been a single contact initiated by the company. All I have had is an automated email confirming receipt and then boilerplate emails in September and October apologizing for processing delays. I have made multiple calls to customer service, one of which resulted in a 'case' being opened on their side. But no signs of action, no queries about the contents of the claim, no evidence that any action was being taken. So am sitting here over 6 months after the claim was submitted with no indication that the claim will be honored, or that it is being actioned in any way.

Horrible company!! BUYER BEWARE! I filed a legitimate claim in May 2020 and have provided them with all paperwork and information on more than 1 occasion. My travel agent that sold me the policy called her representative and they said they were “working on it”. It’s now 6 months later and they still have not processed my claim. I will be contacting my Attorney General’s office and the Dep’t. of Finance to file a complaint as well.

Bought the cancel for any reason insurance and then COVID happened. Company refuses to refund money because "Covid isn't a covered under their policy". Covid didn't even exist when I paid for the trip. Spoke to 5 reps, got run around and was even told by a rep named Michelle on Nov 5 "that I am never getting my money back". Been fighting since May to get my money back. These people are a corrupt fraud and they should be shut down!!

We have used this company in the past but have never filed a claim. Last year we paid $830 premium for a $16000 cruise and airfare in July, 2020. When travel was canceled due to Covid-19 we worked to recover as much of our investment that we could. In June we filed a claim for $1300 to cover nonrefundable deposits and 2 plane tickets that we couldn't use because travel to Canada was forbidden. We were asked several times for documentation which we provided and finally almost 4 months later they denied the claim for some ridiculous reasons. Save your money and never use this company! They have no intention of paying claims.

Avoid this company at all costs. They have given every excuse they can and asked we provide documentation over and over. They have no intention of ever paying my wife’s medical claim on Azamara in January 2020. Why don’t they just say “We will take your premium, but will give you the runaround forever. We don’t intend to pay.” They usually give the excuse of COVID. It has been 7 months since they received our claim. Unbelievable!

I bought this insurance for a cruise in January 2019. I had to cancel for health reasons in August of 2019. All paperwork was sent in and after three times of the company loosing the paperwork, they finally told me they received it. That was in June of 2020. On October 2020 I called again and I was told they had 30,000 claims to take care but they would send a email to the correct department for a $3500.00 check. At this time I don't have much faith that I will ever see my check.

Have used this company a couple times and never had to file a claim. Recently I had to file a claim @ $2000. They wasted approx 6 months of my time going back and forth requesting one thing after the next which appeared to only delay their payment to me so they could find an excuse not to pay. A complete waste of money. Do not use this company. Definitely try another if needed.

I would like to give zero stars. Is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. My claim was received April 15 before trips were shut down to Europe. It was a medical cancellation claim. Detailed paperwork has been sent in five times including a registered letter to my case manager which I was finally able to get the name of. She refuses to call me back or email me. I just got a partial refund of $1460. They still owe me $1780. That doesn’t include the $200 seat upgrade they wouldn’t let me claim because the tour company change the dates and I had upgraded the seats. Do not use this company. I’m ready to call an attorney.

I cancelled my May 2020 river rafting trip in mid-March. I had purchased "no fault" coverage through Travel Insured based on recommendation from Hatch River Expeditions. Travel Insured required over 10 pieces of documentation, including statement from doctor and medical expenses though I was not cancelling for that reason. Then in mid-July they help up processing while requesting a statement that the river trip company had not reimbursed me, but did not tell me it was needed. I am still waiting for any word and a significant amount (to me) of money. No communication, a "check status" page doesn't tell you anything, phones are not answered for over an hour, if at all. The worst. Have recommended that Hatch not use them in the future.

Purchased travel insurance for family trip earlier this year. Travel was cancelled because of Covid. Purchased "cancel for any reason" insurance. Despite submitting all documentation numerous times and calling multiple times (with each call with at least an hour wait), I still haven't received what I am owed. I don't believe they have any intention of paying any claims. Even if they do, it was not worth the time and effort it has taken to collect. This is a horrible company with no customer service. Would absolutely not purchase insurance through them.

We purchased insurance for an international trip in March of 2019. This company was recommended by our travel consultant. We haven’t heard anything except a request for additional paperwork to be submitted and that has been pending review since May. It is now July. We have thousands of dollars in airfares and travel arrangements that we hoped to be refunded. Our trip was canceled as I had emergency surgery shortly before the trip and we were unable to fly. I have been on hold for over a half hour and tried to send a message via their website but it wouldn’t even go through. Think we’ve been hoodwinked from this company. After reading others reviews I don’t think we’re going to have any luck. Wish I had researched this company rather than taking someone else’s word for it. Hope you weren’t taken in by this company too.

I am a personal assistant to a family and I purchased Travel Insured Protection Plus from C&F for a little over $4K. Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the airline cancelled the flight and fully refunded it. Since it was after the 14 day "look" period, the company only offered a voucher for future travel, not a penny in refund. I filed an exception as the family is elderly and will likely never travel internationally again. The exception was denied. I have filed a complaint with the Florida Insurance Consumer Protection office, but I want to warn people out there - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I was planning a trip in September of 2019 with my family. One of the people traveling got seriously ill and we had to cancel the trip. Filed claim with iTravelInsured in late September. Now in late April of 2020 still waiting for the decision on the claim. We heard everything: from systems down, to 30 day review time, to requiring all kinds of documentation that have nothing to do with the claim. They literally asked for Travel Agency Bank Records. Yep, not our Bank Records, Travel Agency we purchased the trip from, their Bank Records. Now, 7 months later I am still waiting for a response. I am 80 years old and they must be hoping to run out the clock on me. Well, I am tired of waiting, might need to hire an attorney to go to court to get the money from them.

Submitted claim for a trip cancellation as a result of my hospitalization. Claim was sent certified with Post Office confirmation. My claim was never acknowledged by the company. I have called 6 consecutive days and only can leave a message with my name and number. No one has returned any of my calls and it is impossible to reach a human to talk with there. Something is seriously wrong with this company. Beware.

Was easy to purchase and pay. Do not purchase this to insure travel to a convention for work and training purposes. When my convention was cancelled they informed me they do not cover event cancellation under trip interruption. Their recorded message says they might possibly cover the cost of changing your flight ticket, however if the event has no reschedule date this is impossible. Seems like a token of hope that they know will likely not produce a payment on their part.

I had purchased travel insurance and before the ship left the dock. I passed out from dehydration. I was taken to the ship's emergency room and was treated. After being in the ER for 3 hours I was finally released and I had to pay for the entire medical treatment. After that I proceeded on my trip. After returning home I submitted all the necessary paperwork that the Travel Insurance company requested. Bill was for an estimated $340.00. I waited over 3 1/2 months and the company only paid $50.00...paid $78.00 for the premium.

Something is going on with this company. My travel friend and I had to cancel a trip because she was injured, and we filed a claim in September. We submitted all the required materials and were told that they would process it within six weeks. Long story short: after over four months of numerous calls and submissions of papers with the same information over and over, and numerous responses that “we just need one more thing,” a conversation with my attorney, and two calls in which I (at the direction of my attorney) spoke as sternly as I could, we finally received our refunds on Jan. 31. The delays and delaying tactics made me wonder if the company is in trouble or has adopted shady business practices. I will not use it in the future.

We were delayed due to a well documented/national newsworthy storm. We were on our way home from vacation. Got stuck in our connecting city (so not anywhere near home). Submitted our claim for travel delay and for baggage literally the next day. Our baggage ended up at our final destination when we didn't...so we were without our luggage for over 24 hours.

I had to call the claims dept after several weeks of hearing NOTHING. A claims adjustor called me. They "don't have" my travel delay form, so I have to re-submit it. I know I submitted it...but funny how you cannot see or review the documents once you've sent them. You just have to take the adjustor's word that they "don't have it."

The baggage delay claim is being denied because we were on our way to "our final destination" although we were NOT at our final destination...we got stuck in a connecting city! I am going to try and escalate this to a manager. Our airline sent our bags on a plane that we were not on. Isn't that proof enough? I am so frustrated. I bought this through USAA and will also be complaining to them. Never again. I learned my lesson, stick with the larger, more reputable companies for travel insurance.

Read the reviews before you go through Travel Insured International. They denied my claim as they said the airline going out of business and not refunding me the full amount was not included in my policy. Baffling? Isn't that why you get travel insurance? I had to chase them to get this adjudication.

They will drag out a claim hoping you will give up. Insuremytrip.com has gotten involved but even they are powerless to get a timely resolution. Forms you submit are lost. They ask for the same documentation over and over but in different formats. It has been 3 months since I filed a legitimate claim and still no sign of a resolution. Other companies may charge a higher premium but if you file a claim at least you will get paid...and isn't that the reason people buy insurance? Stay away from CF Travel-they are terrible!

I Filed a claim on 10/27/19 for $213.80 for a doctor's visit and a prescription while in Austria Europe. I had a bad bacterial infection. Very happy that it was not more serious and costly. I e-mailed the claim and sent the bill from the physician and from the drugstore for the prescription. 3 weeks later....no claim resolution of any kind..... I called and found out that it might take much longer than that to process a claim. They could not give me definite time frame. They told me they would call me when they were ready to process the claim.

Today on 12/11/19 they e-mailed me requesting verification regarding my flight itinerary. I did e-mail it. They never asked for that before. It is obvious that this is just a tactic to drag things out. I will never ever do business with this company again, and I would advise anybody to stay away from this awful bogus insurance company. I travel frequently, and I always purchase some kind of travel insurance through the Squaremouth Website. The last time in 2016 I fell ill while travelling I was insured through TIN LEG and they settled my claim to my fullest satisfaction in a very timely fashion within 2 weeks from me filing it. Filed a claim for $120.00 for a hotel physician visit in Florence Italy. Thank God it was not a serious illness. A sinus Infection. Filed the claim with CF Travel Insured in Glastonbury Connecticut. Sent the Bills from the Florence physician who was fine. This was on October 28th, 2019. Weeks later they said they needed verification that we (my wife and I) were really in Europe. I guess I would lie about a hotel doctor visit in Italy. For $120.00 for my sick wife. Sent them rail ticket stubs, airline confirmations etc...Now It's December 3rd..5 weeks..STILL NOTHING.. CALLED THEM, SENT EMAILS..RUNAROUNDS..I am Doubly glad it was not a major illness because this company STINKS AND I WILL NEVER BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE FROM THEM AGAIN!
