We have an RV insured with Progressive. We have never had a claim or problem. We got a leak in the slide after Hurricane Ida. The adjuster came out and after he tried to tell us that there was old tape on the slide and it won’t be covered. He said someone else would look at it. Then we saw the claim in the app and the next day it was closed. No one called us and we have not been able to get a hold of the adjuster at all. I have called the supervisor and no answer. Nothing! Stay away from this shady ** company! Old man at RV place told me to only use Geico and that Progressive is the worst company and never pays out! Now we know!

While coming home from San Diego, something hit our RV, and when I called to report our claim, it took over 21 days for someone to call back and inspect the damage to my RV. It took them another 12 days to tell me they are going to deny the claim. Once the adjuster called, he said that my claim would probably be rejected by the picture I submitted. I had a 2007 Dutchman Class C RV that was hit by a piece of wood, and at impact, the wood ripped off a portion of the fiberglass. Progressive denied the claim saying it came off due to the dilapidation of the glue not adhering to the fiberglass.
In addition, there was no evidence of collision damage or any other sudden event to have caused the side panel to fall off. The fact that the gutter rail was still fully attached, the adjuster told me had the wood hit us directly and caused the direct impact, they would cover the damage. If you are purchasing a used RV, will you remove the fiberglass and inspect it for water damage? I don’t know anyone who will take the fiberglass off check it before purchasing it. Based on what the adjuster from Progressive is telling me, they won’t cover any damages if there is any preexisting water damage. So make sure you don’t get insurance with Progressive because you will be paying for insurance, and nothing with be covered. Their policy won’t cover anything if you have any preexisting water damage anywhere, and they will make sure they use that to get out of any claim. BEWARE!!

I put a claim into Progressive RV ins. (I bought it thru FMCA, I have had nothing but good experience with FMCA up until this). They took forever, over a month to come out and see the issue. Once they did come out the adjustor quickly told me it was denied. I asked about appeal and he snapped at me, was extremely rude and short. Said, "This is not like Homeowners insurance and that you people all say the same thing..." whatever that means. I guess we are all stupid other than him. He was rude and condescending the whole conversation, which since I was in my car my wife heard as well. Clearly from the beginning his mind was made up to deny the claim.
Will be changing insurance company ASAP. Be sure to ask about what is covered when they call it water damage. Progressive will not pay anything if they mention water damage. I don't know if any other ins. company would have paid or not, but customer service is something I thought I paid my premium for... just saying.

I purchased RV insurance from Progressive on December 19, 2020 on the recommendation of Campingworld. On the date of purchase I paid $309.88. I was told by the agent at the time of the purchase that I could cancel the policy at any time without penalty. A few days after buying this policy, I found better coverage through another carrier for less than 60% of Progressive's rate. I cancelled Progressive on January 4, 16 days into the term of the policy. On January 6, I received email confirmation of cancellation with an invoice for another $218. Alarmed that I would be paying more than $500 for 16 days of insurance, I phoned Progressive and was told they were entitled to 90% of the prorated term amount and 10% of the next term amount. This is nothing short of fraud. BEWARE OF PROGRESSIVE.

On September 16, 2020, we lost our RV in hurricane Sally. I reported it right away, only to hear back from them a week later to be told they were not sending adjusters out due to 35COVID-19. They were only accepting photos, so we sent 35 to only to get a call stating the female caller could only see a few damages. I demanded we had an adjuster come out, as well as paid for one ourselves. This process took another 2 weeks, in the meantime, we are paying for a motel. At the time I took the policy out we were not given any options for emergency stays such as this.
When I called to cover our new camper, the female on the other end told me we had options, $750.00, $2000.00, or $7500.00 for emergencies such as this, but the gal admitted and it is recorded that she didn't use to tell customers this because they usually just wanted the basics. Nice to know they make our decisions for us.
Now it is October 12, 2020, and we finally bought a new camper, while still trying to settle with Progressive. They finally totaled our vehicle on October 9, 2020, in the meantime we are paying a motel bill, and still have sent us the papers they say we need to sign to get our money. Of course being Columbus day our Banks our closed so they couldn't get a pay off, to get this done so here we go again. We have got to move into our new camper at the dealership lot saving us $150.00 a night, after spending $4000.00.
Today they said they expected us to keep up the camper and lot rent payment until the got the camper. I told what to do with it. I have gone with Geico since they were the first ones out at the RV park and have settled with their customers. They are over $400.00 a year cheaper for better coverage. Everyone that has been affected by this has settled their claims but us. If you want them to treat you inhumane and like you don't have feelings then go with them.

They sold us full coverage on a recreational vehicle. We had water damage and an adjuster came out. He said most of the time claims are denied on RVs. Well he was right. It was denied. They should have told me 3 years ago when they were taking my premiums!! Tried half dozen times to contact my assigned claims representative. She never returned our calls. We have since cancelled with Progressive.

I have never had an issue with insurance providers before Progressive. They are shockingly deceitful and ridiculous. I had a claim that they admitted was covered under my policy, but would not take care of the damage. I had wind damage to my trailer, which allowed water to enter the trailer, causing thousands of dollars of damage. A vent was blown off, they covered the vent ($300), but not the resulting water damage, how does that even make sense? And trying to fight it is an endless struggle to chase it up the stonewalling chain of command. I finally gave up, which I'm sure is their strategy. Save yourself the headache, and go with a more reputable firm. NEVER AGAIN.

I bought an older Class A 5 years ago. Last year I had listed it with a consignment facility in Nevada as I was moving to Oregon. After 8 months they were unable to sell it so I went and brought it to Oregon. I noticed a large crack in the upper corner of the windshield and right after getting it here there were several large rain storms and I was unable to get the cover on. I contacted Progressive to file a windshield claim. Initially I was told, "No problem. Safe auto with the out to do it," however when I mention there was some water damage inside due to this rain they said, "Oh no. You need to now highly different claim."
The adjuster contacted me and told me since this was a new policy they had to do a thorough investigation. I have been with this umbrella of companies since I purchased the RV however they have changed my provider multiple times due to the previous provider no longer covering RVs. They have now denied my claim stating that it was previous damage and that the windshield seals were bad which is what caused the windshields to crack. From what I've been able to ascertain this is now going to cost me over $4000 when just to fix the windshield. It's my opinion they convinced me to finally claim so they could then deny it. Eventually it will get fixed and I will sell the coach. My advice to everyone else stay away from Progressive.

I've had Progressive on our RVs for over 15 years. Today we were in AZ and it had snowed a couple of inches. Driving the car on to the tow dolly I put the brake on and because of the snow it slide off of it. This left the frame sitting on the tow dolly. My husband had spent over an hour in the cold trying to figure it out. I decided to call Progressive. After going through all of the prompts Jordan was on the phone, told to use my cell phone number as my claim number. He put me on hold and the call was disconnected and he didn't call back even though the claim number was my cell. Called again and went through the prompts, a live person came on and said I needed to speak to roadside assistant, really I didn't know that. She gave me the number to call in case we are disconnected.
The transfer went to voicemail and asked if my call was important. Called the number given and again leave a message. Called the original number going through all the prompt, again needed to be transferred. So I get Mya, very nice but couldn't understand the situation. She spoke to her supervisor and said it was a liability they couldn't risk. Waited forever for her to get a superior to talk to, now I am on hold again forever. Supervisor again said too much of a liability, so what am I paying insurance for.
Again transferred to the claims department waited forever and finally gave up. By that time my husband figured out how to get the car off the frame and wheels back in place. So the question is why is Progressive subletting their Roadside assistance. Why was it so hard for them to understand it wasn't a big deal for them to help us. Why would I need to file a claim and hope they pay for it. Why wouldn't a tow truck be equipped with equipment to help us. I will be looking for a new insurance company. God forbid this was something serious. Extremely poor customer service. Shame on you Progressive.

We used Progressive to insure our motorhome. Every year, the premium went up even though we had never filed a claim. When the renewal came up in Nov., they had increased the premium again. I called to find out why and they just said, "That's just the price to insure your RV if it has to be replaced." Then the rep started asking where we kept the RV and I told them it was stored in a gated and locked facility with an on-site resident manager, which is where we have stored it since we bought it in 2014. They asked the zip code. Then told me it was a risky area. When I hung up the phone, Progressive sent me an email informing me they were increasing the premium an additional $246.00! We insured our RV with another company and dropped Progressive. Terrible way to do business. Don't use them EVER. There are plenty of better choices out there.

I purchase insurance for my RV. Something flew off a truck while traveling on the highway and hit my RV. I ran whatever it was over put a claim in because it caused a blowout damage my tanks and Progressive claims it was an accident and raise my premium. Not even one time free accident forgiveness but it was not an accident. Something flew in front of me and hit my tire. You cannot avoid 54 ft long RV towing a car doing 62 miles an hour on the highway. It's hard to avoid when something flies in front of you so I get punished. I do not recommend this insurance company. I will be canceling and never in my lifetime use Progressive again. They come up and find all these little hidden clauses to protect their self.

I have a RV and switched my insurance to Progressive. After 8 months of talking with there agents and finding problems with them, I started to look for other insurance companies. I found a insurance company with lower prices and better coverage. We canceled Progressive and went with another insurance carrier this was on August 14, 2018. We had made a payment to Progressive on July 20, 2018 to cover us until August 20, 2018. We were sent a bill from Progressive of $63.87. After making monthly payments of $141.34 the agent said we did not make payments for the month, but for the previous month.
After asking if we were behind, she said no just that the company just bills that way. After asking if I had a claim with them in any month would I be covered. She said “yes!!” I stated but you said I was not paid for the month. My first month of the policy was paid with a credit card to start the policy over the phone. Each month after that it was automatically payed by the Bank. We will make the payment of $63.87. But I feel we were taken advantage of.

Beware RV owners. I purchased a class A diesel pusher 6 yrs ago that had repairs done to the roof. I was satisfied with the work and had no problems. I just put in a claim for a windstorm that blew a tree branch onto the roof. It damaged some cover, ripped a hole in the outer rubber layer, wind got under and tore my roof apart. Then it rained and leaked onto my dash and caused more damage. Progressive had its adjuster conclude that because of past damage they weren’t going to do anything further. This was not caused by past damage. I haven’t had any problems with auto insurance with them, but for RV insurance I think they should get out of the business.

Progressive doubled my RV rate when I moved to Texas then raised it by 100 dollars this year. They said it was because we had some storms. REALLY??? My RV sits in my backyard and doesn’t even move. I’m sure they’ll find a reason to raise it another hundred next year. Progressive sucks. Can’t wait to be rid of them.

This is by far the nastiest insurance company I've ever dealt with. They will fight your claims and do everything not to pay. We've been lied to by the adjusters, management will avoid you and never respond. Good guy takes the case over and lied to again and again. Our RV was damaged in a tropical storm and after the shop gave quotes for repairs Progressive did everything to try and disprove the shops estimate and knowledge of repairs. Guess progressive claims reps do repairs on the side, not.
They will go out of their way to avoid paying a claim and make it always seem like it's all your fault. I wish it could go back 4 years and did my homework on them. I never would've made the switch for the lower rate. Worst mistake ever. Auto claim, well get ready to be more disgusted with that dealing. Was involved in a head on collision which resulted in 30k damages to our truck. They fixed it! 30k in repairs and they fix the truck. Now we are stuck with a truck that we can't ever trade in due to the severe damage it sustained. Went to 3 dealers to trade it in after the repairs and no one take this on trade. All 3 dealers couldn't believe this vehicle was fixed.
Updated on 01/31/2018: As of today being 7 months from claim being filed there, the claim rep is doing his own parts searching. Our claim rep has been emailing the body shop trying to get them to buy parts from tweetys.com to save money. I guess I wasn't aware the claim reps went through so much trouble to find ways to drag these claims out. Twice now we've been told one thing and the shop told something different about what's being covered (we have the emails showing this). If you feel like being bullied during your claim process go with Progressive because that's what you'll get with them. In the end this has really ruined our experience with camping all together and never want to deal with another RV claim again.

I insured through USAA/Progressive RV. Bought a 2016 Forest River Sunseeker in October 2017. Progressive wrote the policy for 12 months through Oct. 2018. On Dec. 19 I received a notice of cancellation effective January 9 with the reason being "2016 Forest River Sunseeker has an unacceptable body style. If questions, contact customer service." I contacted customer service and spoke to 6 representatives none of which were able to explain the meaning of 'unacceptable body style'. I spent one full hour on the phone with a supervisor who try as he might, was unable to get information to answer my question. Underwriting department was shut down for the day and he would not be able to provide any further info until January 8. However, he provided me with a list of other RV insurance companies I can call. Seriously??? DO NOT DEAL WITH PROGRESSIVE. EVEN IF THE RATE IS LOWER, YOU'LL REGRET IT.

We bought a used RV in June and took it on vacation in July. We hit a really bad windstorm on the way (during the night), which caused the front part of our side to pull back from the wood siding. From what we have heard after, it was a very common area of road for things like this to occur. The wind was so bad, we had to drive really slowly until we got through the area and pull into a gas station to do temporary repairs. We contacted Progressive within the week and filed a claim. We took it in to have it looked at and pictures taken by a claims adjuster. There was also a written report done at that time. Our claim was then denied by Progressive because they said that the wood appeared rotten underneath according to the picture they saw, which then caused the siding to pull away. They also claimed that the roof wasn't properly sealed on the opposite side of the RV from the damage.
My husband contacted them because what they were saying conflicted with what the adjuster had said. According to the adjuster, the wood was fine underneath and was not the cause. The cause was strong wind damage. Also, the seal on the other side would not impact wind damage to the other side of the RV. We have had quite a few emails back and forth, but they refused to look into this further and consult the adjuster. My husband has asked for them to provide the written report, which they still have not done to this day. We are now left to repair damage, which should be covered under our insurance plan. When we first got the insurance plan, I was happy to hear how much it would cost us for the year. Now, I understand why it was so cheap. They will find a way to get out of paying for things that should be covered under the plan.

It's taken over a month to get our claim determination, and we did all the work, including sending photographs and initiating calls. We still don't have the written answer. They never did send us a policy, though it's downloadable (did I know that then?), and we got hung on a stupid exclusion, which, even had I read the policy through would never have made a dent. Ok, that's my fault - but why did it take over a month to tell us we weren't covered? I think they owe us for our time.

We purchased a camper in March 2017 and got insurance on site thru Progressive. The Progressive agent collected all the required information to automatically debit the monthly premium from our checking account. One month later started receiving phone calls and e-mails stating there was an issue with our account. Had to resubmit EVERYTHING to include banking information and verify authorization to auto pay. Now it is May and again receiving e-mails and phone calls - problem with account - they want me to resubmit everything again. After contacting their customer service I told them I was finding another insurance company. Will never willingly do business with this company again.

I only contacted Progressive once in order to set up the new insurance policy. They were very pleasant and helpful and were able to get me a great price with the coverage I needed. I was happy to be able to get the coverage I wanted for my RV at a reasonable price. I had checked a couple other companies that had higher prices, but chose Progressive for both auto and RV insurance and got a great deal. I got ample coverage to cover current replacement costs for the RV and that I could afford at the time. Each year, the annual premium goes down automatically.

A storm hit and a large tree fell on our RV causing a considerable amount of damage. Within a week we had the RV in the shop with a check from Progressive to pay for the damage. The people from Progressive were very helpful, professional, and kind. Anytime an issue would arise, especially during our RV experience, I was and am very satisfied with the way I am able to always get a straight answer. There are a large variety of policy options starting with the smallest bit of coverage, to keep others (and myself) protected, at an affordable price if. There are better policy offers, depending on what you're willing to pay. I was very happy with the coverage we had on the RV. It was enough to get our RV repaired and up on the road, but at a low monthly cost.

I would continue working with Progressive in the future without fear of possible problems. I appreciated the professionalism of the company. The representative really helped to calm my fears. I received fast, accurate, and a very punctual response. I truly appreciated the help I received.
