I am on my 14 season with my DC, it has served me well. I have treated it hard and it has has not failed me. It needs service, blades and belts from time to time, but no major problems, I am very pleased with it.

Only bought this brand because 1. Family owned business, 2. Endorsed by "Duck Dynasty". Bought a 2750T "Classic" - Commercial rated mower/5.5 acres hour. Bought a 2012 model 08/27/2014. Used to mow my residence, approximately 30 hrs/season. It is an operations nightmare: 1. Ignition switch disconnected within 8 hrs. Had to reattach the connector to the switch(!) 2. Electrical connections corroded from washing unit - had to use CRC "QD Electronic Cleaner" to clean connections, CRC "Wire Dryer" to confirm connections were dry and dielectric grease to seal connections. 3. Electrical connection disconnected from right steering handle. Had to do major disassembly to reconnect (similar to 1 above).
Now the REAL NIGHTMARE- unit is uncontrollable. Operating instructions require max power/rpm. Unit jumps/jerks/overreacts in extreme and dangerous manners. It could literally throw the operator off of the unit...NOT BUILT FOR CHILDREN or INEXPERIENCED OPERATORS. Mine was recalled twice. Issue was not resolved. I have had almost constant communication with DC on a yearly basis. They act concerned but they DO NOT CARE. FYI: 12/05/2018 I spoke to "Steve" in Service. He was unable to offer any advice as "Plant is closed, too much inventory and no sales." Rumored DC was closing. Latest attempt was December, 2020 thru March, 2021. Nothing resolved.
Pulleys/Bearings are JUNK - Paid $672.76 10/06/2020; $547.76 went to dealer. Unit had 156hrs! Divide $547.76 by 156hr = $4.31/hr operation FROM NEW! THIS IS NOT A SAFE MOWER TO USE, IT IS POORLY CONSTRUCTED WITH INFERIOR COMPONENTS. It is overrated as being commercial grade/quality but it can cause serious harm to the operator. My 8 year old grandson mowed my yard with my 60" Snapper ZTR, NOT THIS ONE! I've seen videos of a dog operating a ZTR, NOT THIS ONE.
In conclusion, DC tells me it is out of warranty and they want to sell me a lesser, used model with more hours AND NO WARRANTY. I AM FED UP. I DO NOT WANT THIS MOWER, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND DC TO ANYONE. I was sold a poorly designed death trap of a ZTR. CAVEAT EMPTOR - "LET THE BUYER BEWARE".

The mower is plenty strong, plenty fast, but if you care about what your lawn looks like, don't buy the Zee 2 mower. The grass packs up in the mower deck, then is spit out in bunches. When finished mowing, my lawn looks terrible. If the lawn is slightly damp, growth any above minimal, or heavily crabgrass (as is often the case in Kentucky in late summer), then the lawn will not look good. To make the grass scatter well, I have to get my 'yard sale' TroyBilt out of the garage. I paid too much for a nice mower to have these problems.

Two years ago, I bought a 60 inch BlackHawk, with a 24hp Kawasaki engine, online. To take delivery, a friend lowered the unit from the delivery truck with his Bobcat. It started right up and ran well for 96 hours. Then a large spring broke under the seat that rendered the unit inoperable. The repair was only $100 plus pick-up and delivery, but I needed the oil changed and blade sharpened anyway, so it wasn't a big loss. While I'm concerned that a mower that should last about 2,000 hours had a simple malfunction at 96 hours, I am glad I bought a Dixie Chopper.
The performance is very good. It gets the job done beautifully and quickly and, with that one exception, has been completely reliable. It is comfortable and easy to operate. The unit pulls a little to one side, so it's not easy to go full speed on the straight-aways, but I expect this could be adjusted without great difficulty. The tires tend to lose air, though not much and not often, so I bought an inexpensive compressor, about $40, to keep them inflated. The air filter is easy to change after 50 hours and may be bought online cheaply. My BlackHawk has not been perfect, but it I am happy with its performance.

Bought my Eagle HP 3160 in August 2018. Long story short After 1 weeks the mower would run for 10 minutes then die. Suspension seat rub hole in the line. It took 3 weeks for Dixie Chopper to get parts to dealer. 3 weeks and the right wheel motor starting pushing hydraulic fluid out of the reservoir. 3 day fix. 1 Week later reservoir take broke. 4 days to fix. In April this year (2020) plastic idler pulley for transmission broke. 4 weeks for part replacement. July 2nd clutch bearing went out. Have to replace clutch $400. It is under warranty but there is not a dixie chopper dealer within 2 hours of me. Tried to send email to dixie chopper customer service. To my surprise their email is not available. Time to look for another mower, should not have this many problems out of a $10,000 mower.

I have a 2014 model, one of the originals before the company was sold sometime in 2014 until closed in 2018 and sold again in the fall of 2019. I find it important that the original DC was about the best you could buy short of a Ferris. I accidentally came across this page and saw all the negative reviews about Dixie Choppers. All the negative comments seem to be from between 14 to 18. However some of the comments I read made me wonder how they find their way to the bathroom in the morning. Anyways my unit is 6 yrs old, I mow about 4 acres. I've mowed grass knee high in my field down to Zoysia in my front yard with ease. I keep it clean, grease the spindles 2 - 3 times a season and still have the original belt after 6 yr. I mow from March to first of Nov and replace the blades 2 times a season... a sharp blade is a good thing.
The point I'm making is DC are a fine commercial mower and I wouldn't trade mine in for the world. I suspect the quality went downhill between 2015 to 2018 by some of the comments, but a new company has purchased the company and I would remember that when deciding if you want to buy a mower of this caliber. All I can say is my DC is built like a tank and I've never had a issue in the 6 yrs I've own mine.

Dixie Chopper has no customer service. My top of the line Turbo diesel has broken down countless times. They put junk rebuilt parts on it at 38 hours. Their attitude is terrible. I have redesigned two areas of the mower that needs to be recalled and they had no interest in helping their customers even when I gave them what I did free. I have patents in other areas and did major improvements for little cost. They have the fuel system pulling from two tanks only to return to one. Such pressure was built up in one that it bent the frame and ruptured the fuel cap spilling fuel everywhere. After I found the problem, they did install a second return. They knew what was wrong but wouldn't fix it till I threatened legal action. Their engineering is extremely poor and they won't fix what they did. Don't buy DC.

We have Dixie Chopper mower with 259 hours of use that is four years old. We bought it because of the deck being a welded deck that was supposed to last longer than the stamped decks on cheaper mowers. We were having the same problem with those decks after about three or four years. I called to see if the company would do anything about this issue. I was told that the warranty does not cover sandblasting. It seems like we paid over $5000 for the same problem that we were having with mowers that cost less than $1500. This mower has broke 9 deck belts in the last year and a half. I also just replaced the idler pulley and thought that that was the problem with the belts. Four hours later, another broken belt. Thanks for charging me so much for a piece of junk Dixie Chopper. I will not buy another one or recommend it to anybody else.

I bought this machine new back in 04'. It has only been good to me since except for things on my end. I blew the engine up at 750 hours due to low oil. And I bent a caster fork because I did not set a jack right doing tires. Problems on the machine include, a wet starter switch caused it to fail, the clutch is slipping some but there is 1500 hours on it, and a poorly designed idler failure which was fixed a year later. I also replaced the right side deck bearing at about 1000 hours preventatively as it was starting to get sloppy. At 1500 the left side and center are starting to get sloppy so they are going to get replaced when the our other rider (simplicity) is fixed. Overall It is a good, solid machine with plenty of life in it.

Worst Mower Ever. The engine is the best thing about this machine. It is Kawasaki 24 HP. Its starts fast and runs strong. The deck is extremely heavy so if you are a teen or older adult the deck raising system is very heavy under your leg and you have to rock the pedal in place to hold it up. My wife can not raise or lower it. The tires are worthless. They don't self clean and have very little grooves cut out so if there is any moisture on the grass in shady areas you simply spin and slide. The parking brake is a joke. You start the unit up and it immediately starts reversing. All four tires go flat between weekends. The rims don't seal well to the tire beads. I passed my John Deere zero turn down to my oldest and I wish I would have bought another Deere instead.

WHEN YOU BUY FROM DIXIE CHOPPER AND HAVE A REAL PROBLEM THIS IS WHAT TO EXPECT. I bought this Dixie Chopper Silver Eagle new a little over 3 years ago and IT ONLY has 69 hours use total because of persistent electrical and mechanical issues. Within the first 17 hours of use it had been in the shop for a total of over 9 months for major repairs. During the first 7 repairs each of which took literally months to complete at four different authorized dealers, three out of the four dealers CHOSE TO CEASE BEING AN AUTHORIZED DIXIE CHOPPER DEALER. When I asked each dealer why they quit Dixie Chopper all three said that Dixie Chopper made them look bad to their customers because of excessive wait time for repairs. They stated that getting warranty parts from the manufacturer was incredibly slow and they were difficult to work with.
Each dealer also stated that they would put that in writing and would testify to this fact if it came to court. Because of the severe issues and repeated problems 3 of the four dealers recommended that my mower should be replaced by the manufacturer because it seemed to be a lemon machine. At 12 hours of use the hydraulics went out, the first attempt at repairs took 3 months and was not completed since the authorized dealer was the Atlanta Kubota dealer and during the repair they chose to cease their dealer relationship with DC because DC would not send the repair parts needed to complete the repair. The Dixie Chopper regional manager actually assisted me in getting the mower to a new dealer who had the mower for another 20 weeks. I got the mower back and again at 17 hours one of the hydraulic drive motors went out and the mower was in a different shop for 3+ months.
I complained to the then regional manager and he said the mower should be replaced but he didn't think he could get DC to do it. The last time I spoke with the service department in July 2017 I requested a replacement again and it appeared that they were going to make replacement and I was promised a return call to remedy the issue. THERE WAS NO RETURN CALL. It was repaired again 3 more times for another hydraulic motor and multiple electrical issues causing the PTO to not engage and another for electrical not charging and for the mower to simply shut down and not start. During that repair, that authorized dealer also chose to leave Dixie Chopper due to the reasons stated above. The mower now has only 69 hours of use in 3+ years because it will not operate long enough to use it.
Now it is a new mowing season and once again it is leaving me stranded in the field and headed to the shop for warranty work... of course, a different shop than the last because they quit DC for the same reasons as all of the others. This mower has been in the repair shop for literally months at a time and every mowing season starts off with this machine breaking down in the middle of a mow... usually within the first few mowings of the season. When the machine is in the shop I have to pay to have my acreage mowed. This is not right on any level. On my recommendation, (before my mower’s issues began) my neighbor bought this same model machine, has hundreds of hours logged on his machine and has had little to no issues. My Silver Eagle is a lemon machine, Dixie Chopper knows this and they refuse make this right.
I again contacted Dixie Chopper by email and then spoke with Dixie Chopper service Manager on May 9, 2018 to make another request for an amicable resolution of a straight up like for like replacement of this lemon machine. The service manager stated that their policy is to sell the machine to the dealer and once that is complete they believe that transfers all responsibility to the selling dealer. He stated that Dixie Chopper feels that they have no responsibility for any remedy for gross manufacturing defects. He suggested I go to the dealer who of course had suggested I go the manufacturer. I asked him to put that in a written email to me and he said he would not but would send an email with a softer version.
He didn't want to lose his job for telling the truth in writing. That email never happened of course. BOTTOM LINE I know, because of my neighbor's machine, that this Silver Eagle model is a good machine and I do not want my money back or another brand. I simply want Dixie Chopper to do the right thing and replace this lemon mower with the same model. This one is lemon and is still under warranty and should be replaced.

I have this mower Magnum 2250 zero turn mower for 2 years and it has taken me this long to absolutely hate it. The mower has no traction and will not mow sideways on a slight incline. If you have to mow along a fence on the slightest grade you will slide into the fence and get stuck. The controls are jerky and it spins the tires on level ground when trying to back up and turn in either direction. On level ground it does of except for leaving divots when "zero turning". The divot feature may be true of all zero turn mowers. If you have to mow on slight inclines horizontally you WILL slide sideways and possibly get stuck. Mowed the same area with my Cub Cadet traditional yard tractor and never had that problem. The Magnum chopper does mow a little faster than the Cub but only by 10 or 15 minutes. I miss my Cub Cadet. It may have been slightly slower but it didn't tear up my yard or get stuck.

2002 Dixie Chopper Silver Eagle - I am a 71 year old retired owner/operator trucker. This was my first ever zero turn mower. It has over 1500 hrs on it. I have done general maintenance on it myself. I have changed the belts, spindle bearings, and pulleys. I love that. Yes mower is greasable. It has really been a workhorse for me, mowing not only my properties, but helping out mowing local baseball fields. I am about to purchase another mower, and it will be another Dixie Chopper. Sad to say, but this one should outlast me!! I think company should give me a new one!! LOL.

Bought brand new a 3160 Dixie Chopper Classic in 2016, From Hills Hardware in Union City TN. They were discontinued there Dixie Chopper line and I got a great deal. If you want a mower that has no issues, easy to maintain, and longevity this is your lawn mower. It is fast, does a great job cutting Bermuda/fescue. My wife loves it (even better). This thing is a beast! I like the Stainless Steel. I am a farmer and she is in commercial sales so our time is limited. It’s easy to operate, smooth and fast so we can spend our time doing other things. I highly recommend Dixie Chopper, the dealership (Richards) was happy to pick up our warranty work but honestly we have done nothing but mow... and that is what is best off all! 2014 3372 Dixie Chopper Classic engine came apart with 390 hours on it. I’m the second owner so I spent $4,000 repairing it. Dixie didn’t help out a single dollar. Horrible way to promote their product. I’ve dealt with many vendors that don’t transfer warranties and most all of them would have helped on something so new with so few hours. If I had been using this mower full time it would have lasted a little over two months. Good job Dixie...

I purchased the Dixie Chopper in June 2017 from B & B Motors in Edgewood Texas. At the time I purchased it I was told it had a full 2 year warranty plus an additional year to cover parts. I believed at the time Dixie Chopper stood behind their products and this to be a legitimate dealer. The mower ran great until I had 15 hours on it. Then stopped running. I notified the sales person of my problem. He picked it up and returned it to B & B Motors for repairs. They then advised they were not a Koehler authorized dealer and took it to another shop in Sulpher Springs that was an authorized dealer. It was found the Koehler engine had a plastic Cam inside that had broke. Who would imagine you would put plastic inside of an engine. I had no assistance in resolving the issue. It was left up to me to do all of the leg work and several phone calls to Dixie Chopper & Kohler. 1 month later after all I went through finally my mower was returned.
When I received it I was looking forward to cutting my lawn that hadn't been cut for one month. The mower was hard to start. I was able to mow my front yard and now the belt has broken. When I turned the mower off it back fired and now once again it will not start. When I purchased the Dixie Chopper I paid almost $5,300.00 cash for it and was expecting to have a quality mower. I'm very disappointed with this product and do not recommend it to anyone. If you choose to purchase the Dixie Chopper I would make sure where you purchase it from that they are an authorized dealer for the motor installed on the mower. There is no doubt this is a LEMON.

I have owned my Dixie Chopper for 10 years and it has been a very dependable mower. Had a John Deere riding mower and it was too slow. Took hours to cut 3.5 acres. My Dixie Chopper 60" deck will do it in just over an hour. Sharpen the blades every winter and change the oils every other year. I have not had any problems with it. Very well built, heavy gauge steel deck. Strong unit. I wouldn't own another brand.

I first looked at the Dixie, tested it and was impressed. Then I purchased it and the problems began. The first issue was the ignition switch would work off and on. Dealer replaced and not long same problem. You have to turn it to on several times and it will work. Next was the emergency brake. From day 1 it didn't work right. I tried adjusting it and still doesn't work.
Next at around 650 hrs the engine blows 27 hp Generac. I thought it would be a good engine. It's great on my generators. About $2700 dollars later machine is back in service. After that a deck spindle went. There's no control with the levers, sloppiest I've ever ran. The power deck lift works nice when it works, you have to hit switch a few times. The dealer I bought this from stopped selling them, I can see why. I called customer service, wrote them and basically I was on my own, and by the way they suck on hills. That's my experience with the fastest mower that they brag about. I would have to give this machine a thumbs down. I'll stick with the ExMark's best machines I've ran by far. Thanks for the hard and expensive lesson Dixie Chopper.

I purchased this 2750 Classic Zero Turn Mower because of the design, simplicity and ease of maintenance of the mower which I do myself. I love the mower, its performance and mowing capability. My major complaint is bearing quality. My mower has less than 250 hours on it and I have already had to replace two idler pulleys that had bearings lock up and one of the blades hub bearing assembly because of bearing failure. When I disassembled the hub assembly, I see where the bearings are made in China. I am in the auto repair business and Chinese bearings are a no-no.
Bearing failure has been my only complaint with the Dixie Chopper, and I would expect them to last far longer than 250 hours. The only positive thing I can say is the ease of failed part replacement thus far. The battery lasted 9 years!! This mower is not used commercially, I use it to maintain my home lawn which is on a 1.5 acre lot with Bermuda grass. The mower is well maintained and not abused. I love the mower, I am just a little upset with the quality of bearing being used.

Purchased a residential zero-turn mower, the price was comparable to other brands and good quality for the price. Fast mower, no problems to-date. The mower has a parking brake and seat switch as safety features. Also has a quick raise deck to help avoid running over objects. PTO on/off is located in a convenient spot. Never owned another zero-turn, but the mower is quick with low profile tires for easier turns and faster turning around trees and other objects. Something that I thought would take me a long time based on previous equipment I was able to do in half the time with this product. Even after I have had the equipment crew for over 7 months, it still runs exactly the same the day I first used it. I would say it's reliable and durable.

It seems to be as safe as other options in this category. But I just seem to feel safer when riding it. I like all the safety features it comes with. I wouldn't mind if it had a higher top end speed. Seems to have a governor, which helps the safety features but doesn't help with Speed. I use it everyday. These things are built like they were in the old days. I find it very comforting knowing that they still make like they always have.
