I called American Home Protect and a representative answered. We went through a few things and then he made the deal. It was a good deal. He told me how to pay for it. He was real knowledgeable about what he could or couldn't do.

We were told one price for repairs and paid another, ended up buying our own water heater and had it put in just to find out that they did NOT use all the money allotted for our issue. NOW we are WAITING for money they SAID they were sending "EXPIDITED". That was 3 days ago and we are still waiting.!!! I prefer not to use this warranty service....

They waited nearly 6 months to do anything about our leaking fridge. Even after calling multiple times. They finally fixed it and decided not to pay us the amount promised or a portion of it. On top of everything else the leak from the fridge they never fixed affected our hardwood floors. Now I have to figure out new insurance and pay to get the wood refreshed. I was told someone from customer services was going to call me back and address these issues- did they do that -nope- likely they will call me back… in 2024 - save your money and time and go with a company that cares.

Called same evening to file claim after microwave blew up. Took over 2 weeks and 4 phone calls to get a repairman here to tell me what I already knew. Went and ordered new microwave same day. Submitted receipt 3rd week in April. Still waiting for my money.

When I made an appointment for service, it took 2-3 weeks before understanding my location was columbus area which was still reynoldsburg. The repairman was very nice & confidence that your company has great response with approval for repairs. But that didn't happen for me.
We apologize that it took longer than we would expect to process the claim. Our agents do their best to find technicians in your specific area before moving on to other cities or towns that are nearby. It seems as if our agent did not understand that Columbus was so close to your area of Reynoldsburg. Our agents may not always have the greatest geographic knowledge about every town. So, to help us help you, you can absolutely mention to our agent to use a technician from the Columbus area since that area will likely have a greater saturation of technicians. In addition, you can always use your own chosen technician if you prefer, and that can save even more time. Although the claim took longer than we would hope, we are glad that you felt the technician was very nice, and thrilled that he was able to fix your issues.

The Reimbursement we received for water heater you couldn't even buy a water heater for that amount, it was very discouraging, especially since it doesn't even begin to cover anything towards the cost of labor as well. Maybe you should adjust the costs due to inflation.

As far as the inflation is concerned, you are absolutely correct, and our management is constantly looking for ways to expand the coverage limits to account for the economic trends. The claim for my refrigerator was one big hassle. It wasn't getting cold. They sent out a tech. The tech looked at it and said it was the coil. They replaced the coil, but that still didn't fix it. I'm diabetic and to go two months without a refrigerator is unacceptable. I needed a refrigerator, so I ended up buying one. They gave me some money on it to replace what I spent, but I wasn't happy with the whole process. I don't wanna spend the money for them when I gotta buy it myself. It's better just to buy it myself. I'm done with them.

I canceled American Home Protect. I was supposed to be calling them back to try to get my money back because they didn't have any provider in my area to provide any work that I need to have done. To me, it just took my money. I tried to do my washing machine that wasn't wringing the clothes dry like it was supposed to and replace some gutters onto my house. They said they didn't do that. They clean gutters, but they don't install gutters.
We are sorry to read that our service was not what you had hoped. Our service is created to protect homeowners from the costs of repairing and replacing their home appliances and systems. Even though our handymen do help with maintenance around the home, the installation of gutters is generally not something that they do. However, the problem with your washing machine is most definitely something that falls under the coverage. We looked into our records and see that you never placed a claim for your washing machine, but that is something that we certainly would help with. We will do some further investigating in this case and determine if there are any ways that we can find to have our handymen help with the gutter installation. When we signed up, the rep explained to me how I could benefit from the policy. I already had HomeSmart through Xcel so if my appliances go out, they come and maintain stuff for me. But the rep told me I could use a handyman to do certain things and I told him I needed some duct work done. I've had the policy since January 3rd when they took the first withdraw but I cancelled recently. When I called in March and I asked about some duct work, the reps said, "Let us transfer you to the handyman." When they did, the handyman said, "We don't do this." I was under the impression I would get those services from American Home Protect. But if I'm not getting them, then I'm just paying them. I asked them, "Can you refund March?". The rep said "March is gone. We're not giving you any of your money back." I said, "Well, I really didn't get the services that I thought I was getting. I was misled." He then said, "Well, we can look into giving you your $50 back, but we're not gonna give you March back."
We read your review and we apologize that the service was not what you had hoped for. We can see that you decided to cancel, and we are sorry to see you go. Your claim has been escalated to the compliance department to listen to the call and make sure that the agent was giving you the correct information on the phone. We realize you have cancelled, so it may have no effect on you, but we are still completely committed to making sure that our agents are doing everything correctly, and this case will be investigated. I'm not happy with American Home Protect. They don't cover anything. Recently, something happened to my boiler, and they said to change it. I changed it, I paid for it, and then I sent them the receipt, and they didn't pay it. I might not continue with them.
We read your review and we know that our service is much better for our customers than your experience has been. So, we investigated the claim and determined that it needed to be escalated to our customer care team. After their own investigation, they determined that there was a miscommunication and you do deserve to be reimbursed. The customer care team has informed us that they will be calling you immediately to speak with you about the reimbursement you will receive. Hopefully, by the time you read this message, our customer care team will have already made contact with you and explained when and how your reimbursement will be sent to you.

When my sewer line was backing up, they were talking about the possibility of having my sewer getting replaced. But they said my policy didn't cover it. So we got a second opinion from another plumber and he got whatever was stuck in the line cleared out. But overall, it was pretty good. American Home Project responded back very, very quickly when I called them.

AHS isn't a good service and I'm not happy with it. Sometimes, my payment would come out of my account and sometimes it won't. It's a headache. For one period of time, I was with them for several months and somehow they didn't receive a payment for three months and I had to start all over. Something happened in my home and I'm like, "I've been with you all for this amount of time and y'all can't cover it." My AC unit went out and I had to come $7,300 out of my pocket. They didn't help me. I'm trying to figure out why I'm paying them if they're not gonna help me with everything in my house. They need to improve.

Every time I call American Home Protect, they say “We can't find anybody that we deal with in your area.” So why did they sell insurance in this area? It was cool for the first four years because I didn't need them. I was just paying to have insurance. But now that I need them, it's a problem. It's frustrating. When I call them and tell them something’s wrong, I have to pay the $75 for somebody to come out, then they call me back and tell me I got to find a tech. I called them last Friday. They said they’d get back to me Monday. I just got a voicemail from them the other day, saying they couldn’t find anybody. Ended up, I had to find my own technician. After I paid them and sent them the invoice, they would reimburse me. And that was a lot of work.
We apologize that our service was not able to find you a technician as quickly as we would have liked. Our agents do their best to both find technicians and recruit new technicians for areas that don’t have enough coverage. Our service is constantly expanding, and we are consistently adding new technicians to help fill our coverage areas. It sounds as if our agents were having trouble with your particular area, and we have notified the customer care department to make a priority of finding more techs in your area. In the meantime, we do always allow our customers to choose their own technicians so that you can have the work done in a timely manner without our agents being required to do all the necessary vetting to bring those technicians into our network of trusted technicians. The idea is that you can call and find a tech faster than it would take for us to find one and fulfill the vetting process. We hope that the rest of the process went well and that you have already received your reimbursement check. Again, we apologize that the service did not meet your expectations and we hope that the next time you have a problem we will have expanded our technicians line up for your area and have many more available techs.

I wanted a sense of security and I felt like American Home Protect was a good way to provide that. I am a little concerned because the prior company that I used only gave me 1,300 for plumbing, and that year I spent well over $7,000. But for the small things, I'm confident that it would be beneficial. The people that have reached out have been very pleasant.

It's easy to get through when I call and the agents are always nice. I have had a lot of different claims, including one for a roof leak. I like that American Home Protect sends someone out when I have a claim. The repair people are nice, and they do a good job. Overall, American Home Protect is excellent, and I've never had problems with them. I renewed my contract.

Signing up with American Home Protect was easy and things went smoothly with their rep. I like that their convenient $65 fee. I've heard before I had home warranty insurance that it would be l$100, but they’re on the cheaper side.
You are correct that we try to save our clients from expensive service fees, and we offer the lowest fee possible. We know that when our customers have an issue, their monthly budget might not be able to handle a high fee and we want to do our best to take care of the issue without adding any other financial burdens on them. I got a discounted rate with American Home Protect but the cost still seems on the high end. The rep was vague in terms of what they offer. He tried his best to explain it but at the same time, he was not fully giving the information until after I agreed to the contract. I'm not a huge fan of that. I prefer upfront information.
We are always trying to lower the costs for our customers and make the service the best that it can be for the lowest price possible. One of the benefits of our monthly cost is that we offer the lowest service fee in the entire industry. So, when an issue arises, you pay the least amount possible to have it resolved. We also offer handyman services so that you can get even more value and receive help with household jobs or maintenance around your house, which is another benefit that other companies do not offer. Our goal is to make the service valuable for each and every customer.
As far as the agent not being fully candid about the terms of the contract, we apologize and we expect that our agents are always completely forthright with any type of information about our services. We will take this review and investigate the agent so that we can make sure that each and every agent is following the correct protocols. Even with our new agents, we have an expectation of customer service, and fully informing you about our offerings is a large part of that. With a home warranty, I just have to call them and they will find someone. I just call it in for the claim submission process and the techs they send out are fine. My experience has been almost excellent.

When my toilet was leaking and I called American Home Protect, they said I don't have insurance on that. I said, "I got insurance." They said, "That's not covered." I said, "It's supposed to be." When you pour the thing to flush where the water comes out, the thing inside it has gone bad. I pay 100 some dollars a damn month but they can't fix a lousy little leak? I'm thinking about canceling it.
We are sorry that your toilet is leaking, and that the agent was not able to help with your issue. Generally, the warranty coverage is used for appliances like your washer and dryer, and home systems like HVAC, or electrical systems. Fixing a leak on a toilet is more of a maintenance type of problem. That being said, we are human, and our goal is to always help. So, we will go ahead and escalate your case to our customer care team and see if they can find a way to resolve your situation and stop the toilet from leaking.

The last time I called to renew it, the lady walked me through it and she was so helpful. Also, she gave me the updates on any upgrades I needed for the house. You never know when a disaster is gonna happen or a fixture is gonna be made and it's always nice to have a company backing you.

They don’t send out a bill. They have to do an automatic withdrawal. It’s a monthly thing, but I don't like that. I like to know write my checks out so I know who I’m writing to and who I'm paying.

American Home Protect covered at least 35% of the cost for my water heater. It was around the holidays so the contractors were booked up. I asked American Home Protect if I could be the one to pick who does the job because I knew somebody in town that was not busy so that was what I did. They sent me a $500 check and I had to pay for the labor which wasn't bad. It was around $1,200 in total including the water heater. They didn't say anything about them only covering a percentage. I was expecting to get a full refund but it's better than nothing. American Home Protect helps.
We are happy to hear that you were able to get your water heater replaced and very glad that you were able to see the benefit of choosing your own technician and expediting the process, especially during the holidays. At times when the demand for service is so high, we know that our policy allowing customers to choose their own technician can be incredibly important. Even though the contract does have some limitations on the costs of certain services, we try our best to make those limitations less strict than the rest of the industry so we can allow our customers to receive higher reimbursements than other home warranties. So far, American Home Protect has been working for me. The things I needed to be fixed got fixed, and I got the help that I needed. I don't have to pay a full amount for what needs to be fixed. Every time I submitted a claim, I talked to a different person, but it was good. The contractor did his job and we had a great communication. Right now however, I have an open claim. They haven’t reached out to me yet.

When the seller sold the home, the service was still available to me. When it expired, I went ahead and renewed it as the salesperson advised me that it would be best to renew in case something should go wrong. He was very professional. He broke everything down for me, detail for detail, and I was satisfied with the conversation I had with him. I haven't utilized the service yet, but we're happy to have it.

My last claim with American Home Protect was my central cooling unit and the technicians kept missing the appointment. They kept saying they were gonna come out and kept giving me the runaround. They came out and they kept passing the buck on to someone else. I got tired of that because I wanted my AC fixed. So I ended up having to get someone else to come out and resolve the problem. I probably can use American Home Protect for something else. But I won't be calling them if anything was to happen to the AC again.
We are sorry that you did not feel like the technicians provided good service. All the technicians we use are separate companies that we use as contractors. It would be helpful if you were to contact our customer care department and give us the details of the company that was sent so that we can take them out of our network for future work. In addition, we always allow our customers to use their own licensed and trusted technicians to perform the service. So, if anything else happens, mention that you would like to use your own technician and our agents will explain all the details to make the process easier for you. Finally, if you paid for the A/C service out of your pocket, you should call and talk to the agents about getting a reimbursement for the service that you had performed on your A/C. Again, we are sorry that this was not the service you had expected, but we will do our best to work with you to resolve the current issue. If something breaks down, I got to pay for it first, then they send me a check. I don’t need it if I got to do that. I put a claim in for the refrigerator. It was covered, but American Home Protect told me to go out and buy one, then they’re gonna refund me my money. That doesn’t make sense. I’m not happy right now.
We are sorry that you are not happy with the reimbursement process. This is not always the case, but it seems as if you had a technician that required payment upfront. In many cases, you can ask your technician to take payment directly from us by sending us the invoice so that we pay the technician directly. We understand that buying the refrigerator and being reimbursed afterwards is not the way you wanted the process to go, so please contact our agents again and they will work with you so that the process can be slightly altered to better work with your personal situation.

When I was signing up, at first I said, "It's not really old enough to really even consider this possibility." But I thought, "If I sign up now and I stay with them, when I really need it, maybe it'll be there." And sometimes I'm still thinking back and forth. I look at it, how much it is, and I thought, "I could put that money aside in a separate savings account and basically have money built up in case I do have those expenses." I'm still weighing whether I should do one or the other kind of thing, what's my best choice given my situation. If you don't know how old your appliances are that came with the home or apartment, this is something to think about if you're responsible for the repairs of these pieces of equipment. I looked at it as general home insurance for the whole home. And I realized what it really was. I'm still weighing a lot of this stuff, what is really a justifiable expense for me versus is there a better alternative for me in the long run.
At this point, if the unit failed, the company has to do you right by either being able to repair it back up again or simply replacing it, depending upon what's cost effective for them to make you satisfied. Because you don't want a dissatisfied customer when it comes to, what you call higher value items that people purchase either for themselves or for their homes. You're talking the home, the car, the appliances, the more expensive furniture. You don't want somebody within five years, it gives you a problem to the point where they're gonna go out there online and tell everybody, "You don't want to buy from these people because it gave out after this period of time. And they basically said, ‘Good luck, you must have got one of the bad ones. Well, we're sorry. And that's as much far as it goes.’” This is the last thing a customer wants to hear.
To some extent, someone close to me probably would have said, "You really should have thought about this before you spent that money, because you could have put the money in the savings, and you'd have the money set aside in case you needed it. And if you didn't need it, then you'd be building up money to replace the unit when it reaches the end of its life." Which is another good point, just setting the money aside for yourself.
We are glad that you decided to sign up for our service and are allowing us to keep you protected from a breakdown. The peace of mind you feel hopefully will add some value to your home warranty. In addition, the handyman services that we offer as a part of the contract can help to really inflate the value of the service contract. You can call and have a handyman sent for a variety of services that range from basic maintenance to building a new room to installing a new faucet. The deductible is far less than most handyman would charge for an hour of work, and depending on how many jobs you need done, you could save an incredible amount of money. So don’t forget to use our handymen for your household needs and get even more value from the service contract.

I’m glad that we got American Home Protect. The stove went out. We had to pay a deductible. So, we paid it. The guy came out within three days and replaced or fixed it. He called before he came, let us know he was on his way so somebody would be at the house. And he came, did a professional job, and cleaned up when he left. The stove is working. So, stuff like that comes in handy.

American Home Protect's whole approval process is easy for the most part, but a little slow. I have assisted with that in finding a person because it moves the process faster than them trying to find somebody. So, that slows the process down from what they say. And just the whole process of getting reimbursed, waiting on a check, the guy had some slow moments in the process.
We are sorry that the process was slower than you had hoped. There are certain times in which we are processing so many claims and our agents are busy with so many customers that it will slow down the process. You seem to have found the trick to speeding up the process by finding a technician on your own and we are glad that you were able to do so and get your claims processed. I feel like I should have stayed with the policy that I had because they had people that were here. Now, I'm out of a stove. So, I'm trying to see how to go about it because the technician that I had is not coming back out, which I'm still in the warranty with them and they're not putting on the invoice that the stove went back out. It has been going on two weeks. They haven't found me anybody that can come check the stove either. The rep said it could take up to two weeks more for them to do something else. They are not trying to do anything on both ends. I paid my technician 200 and I'm paying them 200. That's a lot of money coming out and nothing has been done. I could've gone and bought a stove myself for that price.
We are sorry to hear that you are not getting your service done as fast as you would like. It sounds as if the area you live has less options for repair technicians. One of the services we offer is that we allow our customers to find a technician that they trust to do the service so that it makes the process a bit faster. We hope that our agent explained this to you, but if not, please call in and explain to the agent that you are going to find your own service technician and they will explain the details of what you should ask the technician for. After that, you then send us the invoice that explains the diagnosis of the issues. The young man that I talked to said that the payments would be 100 and something dollars. I told him I couldn't afford that, and he brought it down to 95 for me. That helped me tremendously, because I live on my Social Security. I felt safe knowing I had American Home Protect. It took a lot of pressure off of me.

I almost canceled American Home Protect. I have two homes so I'm paying almost $400 a month. And they tell me that’s fair that a customer waits on hold for two hours to get a question answered and to get handyman services? No. And I'm gonna dispute all the charges, because I couldn't get anybody to give me a clear answer or to answer my phone call when I call without being on hold for a long time. None of my issues have been taken care of, and I'm paying for it.
Also, American Home Protect doesn't have enough people with knowledge. I needed an outlet for my house because I have an electric vehicle. And every time I plugged my electric vehicle using my current outlet, it trips the rest of the electricity at the house, so I needed an additional outlet. Somebody was supposed to get back with me, but they never did. It's very simple. Just get somebody out here to add the outlet. It's very simple. It’s on the garage, so it's not like there's anything that needs to run a line. But they haven't.
When we’re calling as homeowners, we're looking for a solution. If I have to do the research myself, then why would I pay American Home Protect? And the lady said, “It's not covered. We only covered your pool.” They want to pull an outlet from my pool? That's going to cost them more money. That doesn't make sense. It's right here. Everything is set for the garage. They just need an outlet. The electrical panel is right here. She didn't know what she was talking about. And last week, she said, “Cover with your pool blah, blah, blah.” So they want to run the line all the way from my pool? I still don't have my answer. They said somebody would contact me. They haven’t. So why would I pay for a service that I'm not receiving?
What's wrong with their handyman number? Why does nobody pick up? I would call and they would say, “You can find your own handyman, pay out of your pocket, and submit the invoices for our approval.” But I'm not gonna do that because I would run into the liability of having to fight them. I don't want that. I shouldn't have to do all the work as a customer. Why would I do that? I have been very frustrated with this whole process.
We are sorry that you had to wait for so long on your call. The months of May, June and still now in July have all been record breaking months for claims. Most is due to the heat waves across the country and countless customers needing A/C units replaced but it has been overwhelming the claims department and we are sorry you had to wait longer than you would have liked. As you can imagine, our customer service and claims agents are not service technicians themselves, so they would not have knowledge about the ease of adding a new outlet or any service-related issues. For that we have to rely on the service technicians that help customers. We looked in your records and we have a call from you on 7/11/2022 to add the outlet. Our claims agents did in fact try to contact a handyman on that day but were unable to find one without a waiting list for you. It says that they informed you about your option to contact your own handyman which should expedite the process greatly. If you choose your own, you can have the invoice sent to us for approval and then your handyman will do the work and we will pay the invoice. That is one option that might save you some time. We hope that your issues will be resolved soon, and in the future, it may be helpful to call directly to the claims department. Their number can always be found on our website, but for your convenience I can tell you that it is (888) 970-0087 and this will bypass the possible wait time to talk with the initial customer service agents that then direct you to claims. Again, we apologize for the long wait, but the demand for claims has been at all-time highs for the past couple of months. We value all of our customers, and we hope that our agents will be able to find someone to do your service, or if you choose, you can find someone to provide you with service and we will take care of the invoice for you.

The agent that got me set up has been good. He at least calls me back if I leave him a voicemail. If it's not that day, it's the next day. Or if I call him during hours, he will pick up. But when he sent me over to claims people, it took forever, and I still haven’t had my products fixed. And it’s probably the worst thing, because it’s my AC, and it’s hot. American Home Protect gave me options. But either I have to take time out of my day to find somebody to come look at my issue, and they will reimburse me, or wait for them to find somebody to come out here and look for it. So, they should be clearer with their instructions.
Also, the wait-time is unbearable. I sat there waiting for an hour thirty, just for a 10-minute conversation. They should have a faster response time. They can help people out faster than me sitting here waiting for an hour. I literally sat there at work with my air pods in, the volume low, during my shift just because I couldn't wait during my lunch. I get 30 minutes for that. So, I got to sit there and wait another hour while I’m doing work. Or, if they have a call back time.
We are sorry for the delay; we are very much aware of the long waits that are far from normal for claims. You specifically are part of the group that are waiting the longest of all, which are people that need their A/C fixed. This year we are breaking heat records across the country and the back-up and waiting for A/C repairs has never been this long before. On top of our company having more claims than ever before, the actual A/C service technicians are often booked for weeks or longer. We offer you the option so that you can find someone and expedite the process, but we understand if that is not something you are interested in. Our claims agents generally begin with our own network of known and trusted technicians that we have paid claims to before, but when they are booked, our agents are forced to begin a search for qualified technicians and find one that is available for you. After an exhaustive search, some occasions still require booking a technician that has a waiting list. This is due to a countrywide spike in demand for technicians, specifically A/C technicians. We hope that you have been helped and your claims has been processed by now, but if not, it may be worth your time to simply find some technician in your area and talk to them personally to possibly diagnose and fix your issue faster. Then we will be here to pay for your invoice and take care of the bill. Again, we apologize for the delay and even though it may not make it any better to hear, you are not alone. People all across the country with and without home warranties are dealing with the same long waits and issues as you.

I had a poor experience with American Home Protect. I was not happy with them. I had a frustrating time with three things that we have that should have been insured broke. One of them got repaired and I feel like that was almost an accident that the person who was my claims adjuster was particularly generous. But there were a lot of hoops I had to jump through. We had to get a service person out to look at it and to give them a written thing to understand. But they also then said, "We can't get a service person out in your area because we don't have that. So, you have to find your own." There was one time when I found my own service person and they said, "We can't fix this. Let me give you this little note that says this can't be fixed." When I tried to send that back to American Home Protect, they said, "It's not good enough. We need X, Y, or Z."
With our microwave, the air vent cover broke off, just snapped. That was not something that you can simply repair because it's a mechanical part. They said, "That doesn't impede the microwave functioning." But they got us a new dishwasher. But it was very hard to get the claims honored. For the most part, they would find loopholes to not pay it. I'd also love to find a form of a receipt from them because it was very hard to find their contact information. I looked up and I don't think they put American Home Protect as part of their email, signature line, or subject line.
We are sorry that you didn't have a good experience using our service. We had our compliance department look at your case and we were able to determine the issues that you came across. To begin with the service provider issue, we offer the option to our customers to choose their own service providers so that they can choose someone they trust to do the work. Most customers enjoy this feature for their own peace of mind in the service provided, but I understand that you didn't enjoy this benefit. In some circumstances like the one you had, we either don't have service providers in the area or they are booked for more than a few days and we ask the customer to find a service provider to use while we will pay for their services. We do ask that you acquire a legitimate form from the service provider with the provider's information so that we can contact them in order to get details on how to pay them as well as an assessment of the situation that they are seeing in person. These are very basic standards of all home warranty companies and we need these items so that a customer does not simply write their own note saying that an item is irreparable without actually having a licensed service provider there to inspect it. As you can imagine if we allowed just a simple note from the homeowner, other people would simply write notes that all of their appliances are broken and get free replacements and be able to sell the old appliances without any third party inspection.
We did in fact replace the dishwasher with a new unit because it was truly broken and not functioning and deemed to have not been user damage that caused it. The microwave however was not covered and the reason was that it was damage caused by use rather than the appliance failing. Although a vent cover is not actually mechanical, it is a part of the microwave that can be damaged by the user and not something that will stop functioning on its own. Luckily, parts like this are generally easily replaceable by ordering it online and removing a few screws, then installing the new cover with a few screws. But because it was deemed by your repair person to be user damage, our policy does not allow us to repair it. As I'm sure you can imagine, no home warranty policy from any company will cover user damage because if they did, a homeowner that wanted to remodel a kitchen could just take a baseball bat to all of their appliances and have the company purchase all their new appliances for them. That obviously isn't a fair policy.
So we are thrilled that we were able to help you by purchasing a new dishwasher for your home. But unfortunately user damage and simple notes without contact information for a third party that has assessed the problem, are issues that will never be covered by any warranty or any company now or in the future. We hope that you enjoy the new dishwasher and if your other appliances do fail without user damage, we will be happy to help you and to repair or replace them for you. Just remember that you will need more than just a simple note and the service provider will need to list their contact information so we can get their assessment and a means in which to pay them for their service! But we will be there to take care of any more problems that may arise.

Right after we first moved in, there was a good leak up underneath the kitchen sink. American Home Protect sent Christianson Brothers. It took the man quite a while to fix it. He was out here for hours. He had to go get parts, and then come back. We also had an issue with the microwave. They asked us if we would mind finding somebody that would come out and do an assessment to find out what was wrong, and then submit it and then they would pay it if it met the criteria of what was wrong. We also had an issue with the air conditioner. The drain hose that went from the air conditioner to the outside was clogged up. When they came out, we had to pay for the call because it was a maintenance issue. Everything that's happened, except for the plumbing issue in the kitchen, we've had to pay for.
We are very glad that we were able to help you with the leak because a small leak can lead to much bigger issues in the future. Oftentimes plumbing can be a very time-consuming repair process, so I am glad they were able to fix the issue the same day. As far as the microwave repair, we offer our customers the option to have a qualified professional that they trust to make repairs and in rare circumstances our service professionals are so busy that we ask the customer to find someone from outside of our portfolio of repair specialists to take care of the issue. We are very sorry if this inconvenienced you but because we use many of the highest rated licensed professionals, they can see a build-up in demand at times. I hope that the air conditioner maintenance was quick and easy as well. In the future, you can use our handyman services to perform some of the routine maintenance required to keep your appliances and home systems running well.

Their contractors were good. With my recent claim, they had to order a breaker. They said it was under warranty. There wasn't anything structural. They don't do that. But with HVAC and appliances, they said all that's covered. It took them a couple of days to fix the air conditioning last time. But everything went fine. American Home Protect is good but they're expensive.
We're glad that we were able to help and that everything worked out in the end. We always try to make the process fast and easy and because we choose the best licensed repairmen, they can have full schedules at times and may take an extra day or two to complete the work. We also try to keep our plans affordable for everyone but oftentimes you get what you pay for and we always focus on providing quality service!

When I signed up with them, it was great. However, I had one incident when I called and requested someone for a repair and they couldn't find a vendor to deal with it in my area. That's the only thing I don't like about it. They have to have vendors visit their clients when they are in need. Otherwise, I'm good.
We are sorry that your claim process did not function the way that you were hoping. One of the benefits that we offer clients is the ability to contact their own service provider so that they can use someone they know and trust. Although many clients appreciate this, we realize not everyone wants to do this. In other cases, we have not established connections yet with service providers in certain areas or the service providers we use are booked for more than a few days and we are unable to use them. In these circumstances we ask the customers to find a service provider and then we pay for their services. Again, we apologize that you were forced to search for your own provider, but we hope that the service was taken care of promptly and that in the end it worked out. What we can advise you for any future claims is that in the event of another issue with any of your covered appliances or systems, you can politely insist that our agents search for a new service provider to assist you. If you explain that you don't know anyone trustworthy and don't have the ability or time to search for your own service provider, we will instruct our customer service agents to go ahead and search for someone that is out of our normal service portfolio and take care of your issues. We hope this helps in the future and hope that the service provider you used in this instance worked out well for you!

We don't have a good experience so far with American Home Protect. It got changed over into our name and we never got reimbursed for what we sent in last year. It was to replace a leaking toilet. We had already tried to do the transfer process over into our name and it apparently didn't work and they sent the reimbursement check to the former homeowner. We tried everything. We called and talked to them to try to get them to send it to us. They said for her to send the check back. Her agent said that she sent the check back but they still never sent it to us.

When I signed up with them, the rep was okay. He did well. However, as far as me canceling it, I talked to four of them. They wouldn't quit calling, "We've gotten no payment." I said, "I'm canceling that. I took you guys off on my bank information." The first one was snippy with me and she said, "Have a nice life then." The two that I spoke to after that, called and were very pleasant and I informed them, "I'm not renewing this." Then, the fourth phone call that I got was the guy that I initially had renewed with and I told him, "I'm not interested. I felt like I'm wasting too much money." He was very pleasant and understanding.
We're sorry that one of our agents was less than pleasant with you. But we are proud that the other three did their jobs in the way that we expect them to. It is very rare that our customers cancel their contracts, so at times those cancellations take a bit longer to make it into the system. In addition, when someone does not pay, they are uncovered which can be a big risk, so our agents make sure to call and remind anyone that hasn't paid that they are running the risk of being uncovered. Apparently our system was too slow to update the cancellation and the four agents were trying to keep you protected during that time, so we apologize for the inconvenience of the calls but hope that the three pleasant agents will outweigh the one that was not.
