I paid for a home warranty with American Home Protect without having anything done for about two years, and when it was time to renew, I signed up. When I called to have some work done, they told me that I had just gotten the warranty about a month ago. I said, "No, I renewed it." The rep said, "Anyway, you're not qualified right now." I'm not very satisfied with that. It was very bad and I was very upset. Customer service didn't want to help at all. They just said that I have to wait a month. I left it at that, but I'm thinking of canceling everything. I did not appreciate the way they treated me, and I don't wanna have anything to do with them anymore.

American Home Protect talked to me about picking the right plan and told me what it was. I'm sure I have everything that I need in it. It covers a lot of stuff for the price. Everything went well and I got a lot of information, so that was nice. It was simple and easy.

Signing up with them was fine. But once I got the paperwork, they don't take care of anything. That was when I got disappointed.

One of the connections in my water heater had sprung a leak. I spoke with a rep and that was positive. A tech came at about 11:00 and had to go get a part. He got the plumbing supply, came back, and fixed the issue. It took about three hours. That made me feel very good.

I bought a new home and I haven't had to use American Home Protect, but everything seemed easy with the signup process. I liked what I heard, and I would tell my friend that this is what I use.

American Home Protect told me that I had to pay only $80 one time and I've been charged for $181 every month. So I'm just going to work this month and next month, I'm going to stop because I'm going to school, so I will not be able to pay for it. I tried to call to cancel and the person who answered the phone said that they didn't have my policy. When I told her to use my phone number, she said she couldn't find me. As a person, she was nice but she didn't do her job. If she knew her job, she would know how to find an account. Also, if it's 85 per year, American Home Protect should keep their word. Not just getting people and charging whatever they want to.

Their service has been okay. A little cumbersome at times getting connected to local services, though. I had a plumbing emergency and the only available plumber was not in their network. It was just them having to go to the plumber and going back and forth with each other. But, the plumber did great work and ultimately everything got covered as supposed to. I also had one other plumbing claim and it went fine. Other than the service call fee, I didn't have to pay anything for the emergency expense that I had on that plumbing issue. They took care of everything.

American Home Protect had a good rate. It's a good company to get with, especially if you're a homeowner. I spoke with them a couple of months ago because I had to re-set up payment. My card had gotten compromised and I had to get a new card. They were cool with it.

I had two experiences, and both have been very good. It has been me asking American Home Protect questions about it. They fully gave me the answers that I needed. And they take care of many things in general. We were able to call anyone, anywhere locally, and they could come quick and fix the issue instead of waiting for weeks. Anything that I needed to fix or repair, they took care of most of it either with a $70 charge or $75 charge. And they take care of the rest.

When American Home Protect provided me the other resources that I could use through their services, they sold me for it. The customer service has always been helpful. They've always been very polite when I’ve spoken to them.

I called American Home Protect and a representative answered. We went through a few things and then he made the deal. It was a good deal. He told me how to pay for it. He was real knowledgeable about what he could or couldn't do.

We were told one price for repairs and paid another, ended up buying our own water heater and had it put in just to find out that they did NOT use all the money allotted for our issue. NOW we are WAITING for money they SAID they were sending "EXPIDITED". That was 3 days ago and we are still waiting.!!! I prefer not to use this warranty service....

They waited nearly 6 months to do anything about our leaking fridge. Even after calling multiple times. They finally fixed it and decided not to pay us the amount promised or a portion of it. On top of everything else the leak from the fridge they never fixed affected our hardwood floors. Now I have to figure out new insurance and pay to get the wood refreshed. I was told someone from customer services was going to call me back and address these issues- did they do that -nope- likely they will call me back… in 2024 - save your money and time and go with a company that cares.

Called same evening to file claim after microwave blew up. Took over 2 weeks and 4 phone calls to get a repairman here to tell me what I already knew. Went and ordered new microwave same day. Submitted receipt 3rd week in April. Still waiting for my money.

When I made an appointment for service, it took 2-3 weeks before understanding my location was columbus area which was still reynoldsburg. The repairman was very nice & confidence that your company has great response with approval for repairs. But that didn't happen for me.

Our agents do their best to find technicians in your specific area before moving on to other cities or towns that are nearby. It seems as if our agent did not understand that Columbus was so close to your area of Reynoldsburg. Our agents may not always have the greatest geographic knowledge about every town. So, to help us help you, you can absolutely mention to our agent to use a technician from the Columbus area since that area will likely have a greater saturation of technicians. In addition, you can always use your own chosen technician if you prefer, and that can save even more time. Although the claim took longer than we would hope, we are glad that you felt the technician was very nice, and thrilled that he was able to fix your issues.

The Reimbursement we received for water heater you couldn't even buy a water heater for that amount, it was very discouraging, especially since it doesn't even begin to cover anything towards the cost of labor as well. Maybe you should adjust the costs due to inflation.

As far as the inflation is concerned, you are absolutely correct, and our management is constantly looking for ways to expand the coverage limits to account for the economic trends. As you likely already know, we are currently experiencing a time of much higher than average inflation which is hard to account for and has pushed prices higher across the board. But management takes these comments seriously and the topic of pricing/inflation will certainly be a point of discussion.

American Home Protect sent me a letter in the mail and I was curious and called in. Everything's been okay. When I need a tech, I call them. People should give it a try and make sure everything go as well.

The claim for my refrigerator was one big hassle. It wasn't getting cold. They sent out a tech. The tech looked at it and said it was the coil. They replaced the coil, but that still didn't fix it. I'm diabetic and to go two months without a refrigerator is unacceptable. I needed a refrigerator, so I ended up buying one. They gave me some money on it to replace what I spent, but I wasn't happy with the whole process. I don't wanna spend the money for them when I gotta buy it myself. It's better just to buy it myself. I'm done with them.

They were very reasonable and affordable. My experience with them has been very good. If anything happens to my home, I'm quite sure they'll cover whatever needs to be done to it. Look into American Home Protect and see if you want to get them as coverage.

I canceled American Home Protect. I was supposed to be calling them back to try to get my money back because they didn't have any provider in my area to provide any work that I need to have done. To me, it just took my money. I tried to do my washing machine that wasn't wringing the clothes dry like it was supposed to and replace some gutters onto my house. They said they didn't do that. They clean gutters, but they don't install gutters.

Even though our handymen do help with maintenance around the home, the installation of gutters is generally not something that they do. However, the problem with your washing machine is most definitely something that falls under the coverage. We looked into our records and see that you never placed a claim for your washing machine, but that is something that we certainly would help with. When we signed up, the rep explained to me how I could benefit from the policy. I already had HomeSmart through Xcel so if my appliances go out, they come and maintain stuff for me. But the rep told me I could use a handyman to do certain things and I told him I needed some duct work done. I've had the policy since January 3rd when they took the first withdraw but I cancelled recently. When I called in March and I asked about some duct work, the reps said, "Let us transfer you to the handyman." When they did, the handyman said, "We don't do this." I was under the impression I would get those services from American Home Protect. But if I'm not getting them, then I'm just paying them. I asked them, "Can you refund March?". The rep said "March is gone. We're not giving you any of your money back." I said, "Well, I really didn't get the services that I thought I was getting. I was misled." He then said, "Well, we can look into giving you your $50 back, but we're not gonna give you March back."

American Home Protect has been very cooperative about anything that we needed. The outlets that my microwave was plugged into got overloaded. The rep said, "It would take a few days or a few weeks to get somebody to work underneath them. Find somebody that can get it done as quick as possible and send us an invoice, and then you'll make your money back." After all that was done, we only had to pay the 65. And we got the rest of our remaining money back. Easy, quick, great customer service. The tech was honest with me. He showed me pictures, told me what was going on. They were easy to work with as well. We ran through a couple of issues with our bank through some stupid crap. American Home Protect worked with us and they were super sweet. We got it fixed.

I'm not happy with American Home Protect. They don't cover anything. Recently, something happened to my boiler, and they said to change it. I changed it, I paid for it, and then I sent them the receipt, and they didn't pay it. I might not continue with them.
