BEWARE of Thomasville Furniture! The customer care manual you receive AFTER you purchase your furniture states that no plastic, vinyl or rubber can be put on your furniture because it may cause the finish to deteriorate! This happened to my furniture when I left a small vinyl change purse on my dresser. Totally ruined! The finish on my headboard also began to deteriorate and I was told by Thomasville customer service that it was due to the use of laundry detergent and fabric softener on my cotton pillowcases.

The furniture inspector that was sent to my house by Thomasville said he had never seen anything like it, but no warranty service was offered because the vinyl change purse was a violation of the furniture care procedures and that using detergent and fabric softener also violated the procedures against using harsh chemicals. Thomasville does not stand behind their products and after 30 years and a house full of Thomasville furniture - we will never purchase another piece of their furniture! #badwarranty #defective furniture

Purchased a very high end Thomasville bedroom set about 20 years ago. Construction has held up except the handles have broken off at the ends. Now I am stuck with 2 knobs and no drawer pull and no way to repair. Almost like they were made of some precast material. Extremely disappointed. Invested in what I thought would last a lifetime.

I bought 2 pieces of furniture in San Jose. There were five drawers chest and media chest. We went to showroom 3 times and talked with different designers. All of them told us how wonderful their factory was, and told us they made the chest in their factory. Nobody mentioned China. After we got two chests, we found them made in China. When I called them, the designer told me completely different thing. We are very disappointed. We are so sad that we can't trust their designers.

Another dissatisfied customer - Pictures below of Latham Recliner. I purchased a Leather Couch and Leather Chair from Thomasville 1-1/2 years ago and loved the furniture until about a year into them. The first issue was the workmanship on the Sofa. The frame broke down - literally. I called the service department and they came out almost at once, looked at the sofa and agreed that something happened and they would repair it - Great. They came out two days later and picked up the Sofa and to my surprise did not wrap it and scuffed it on the way to the truck where at that point unknown to the delivery people I was watching and they simply tossed the Sofa into the back of the truck. I called their service department which they promptly called the next day and apologized and sent a new sofa to replace that one. Thank You.

Fast forward a few months later. I noticed the leather on the recliner was beginning to fade. I had taken a picture of it when it originally arrived and compared it to the way it looked now. The original was a deep brown leather and now the leather has faded so much it’s a completely different color - light brown! So I called their service department again and they came right out. The guy that came out tried to tell me the sunlight has faded the leather but as I told him, how could that be if all the leather is faded the same for one? Secondly the windows are heavily tinted to keep the UV rays out for that exact purpose and finally why was the rest of my furniture not faded and only the Chair was? They insisted it was because of the sun which is ridiculous. They now want to pick the chair up and restain it only after telling me it will just fade and probably rub off anyway. REALLY - why would I allow this??

I have purchased leather many times and have never ever had a leather chair discolor this way. Wear yes but never completely change colors. This is what happen when you outsource your product to China, not quality control. Thomasville used to stand for quality and a great reputation. I read all of the blogs before purchasing this furniture and was a little leery but after seeing the furniture and receiving it in good condition I was quite please but now in less than two years the Sofa was replaced because it was falling apart and now the dark brown leather chair I paid almost $2000 for is a light baby brown. Too bad Thomasville, if you don't get your company together your customer will turn elsewhere.

My wife and I ordered a living room sofa sectional, leather arm chair, leather ottoman, wool rug, king bed, and fabric bench. The sales person/designer was extremely patient and helpful. He has been the only bright spot in our experience. First, it does take 6-8 weeks to get furniture. I think our first delivery took 8-9 weeks. They only deliver to my area during the week so I had to take off time from work to be home. First, the couch was the wrong sectional configuration, the fabric on our bench was the wrong fabric, and the bed wasn't ready to ship yet so I got a partial delivery. The delivery guys called their dispatcher and it was decided to leave the wrong couch until the right one was built. I had already paid 50% down when we ordered the furniture and they wanted the rest of the money then even though only 25% of my order was right. I refused to pay any more money and they said ok.

The second delivery - about 4 weeks later - finally had the bed and corrected bench. The bed was delivered and set up. A few days later my wife realized the bed was wrong. It wasn't supposed to have a foot board so she contacted the salesperson and he agreed it was indeed wrong. So again we would have to wait 4-6 weeks for the correct bed frame to be ordered.

The third delivery finally fixed the bed and brought us the correct couch. All went smoothly until later that day when my wife realized that the corner unit of the sectional was missing some metal beading that was on all the other pieces. Again she called the salesperson and we are now waiting for somebody to come out and fix the couch (add the metal beading).

Through all of this, either my wife or I had to be home during the week for several hours waiting on a delivery. If I hadn't already paid them 100% I would refuse to be home again after the 2nd time and force them to come on the weekends or forget getting the rest of the payment. The quality seems to be fine and we were careful to select the right cushions/fabric/details in the store to make sure we knew what we were getting. The problem is that dealing with the Thomasville after the sale is such a pain in the ass, I would probably never buy from them again if I could help it.

I found a metal frame headboard and footboard that I really liked. There was no pricing information so I placed it on the "wish list" and searched for a retailer. I wanted to print a larger picture of the bed and frame the item number but was unable to access the item again. The website would open but I could not open up the "Bedroom-Beds" section. In the meantime I saw all of the complaints and realized there must be something wrong with Thomasville, one of the proudest old names in furniture. If your website doesn't work, then I would be very wary of the company in general. In this day and age, most sales are conducted online. I am 72--if I want to buy online, I am sure all the people younger than me want to do the same. Too bad.

So we canceled our order and we were told our money will be refunded in 3 business days. After a week, no refund. We called again to find out they did not do anything to the order. Now they talk about no cancelation policy. We got mad and mentioned the order was delayed 4 weeks past their promise date and they are supposed to cancel it tomorrow. We don't have any hopes they will do that. We will be contacting a lawyer if nothing happens by tomorrow. We purchased an entire living room of furniture from Thomasville in Brentwood, MO. Nothing is even close to being worth what it cost. First, the sectional sofa is very uncomfortable; too firm and the cushions have flattened in less than a year. I had made it clear to the sales rep that this is where my husband and I would be relaxing in the evenings...but we both hate to even sit here now. Second, the armchair cushions have lost all shape. This piece actually WAS comfortable, but looks like we have had it for 10 yrs instead of one...and this gets less sitting than the sofa. We also purchased an ottoman that came with the legs all different lengths so it wobbles. Ok, I could go on...but you get the point. TERRIBLE QUALITY. DO NOT BUY.

I purchased 2 $2000 sofas from Thomasville 3 years ago. I bought the same sofas actually twice. I gave away the old pair and bought the new ones in 2012. What a mistake! The 2012 sofas were not the quality of the previous pair. The cushions were not comfortable - and I - Like other reviewers went back to the store after purchase to sit on the showroom sofa and it was much more comfortable. The sales clerk told me that they had been there a long time and that was why. Mine were hard and not great to sit on. We also felt the springs come loose. Thomasville used PLASTIC clips for the springs.

They have offered to come out and replace the springs clips because they are under a 5 year warranty. HOWEVER, my fabric that we paid to UPGRADE is crap. It is worn and looks like it's about to tear in places. Not acceptable. When I contacted customer service they stated the fabric is a one year warranty and nothing can be done. No speaking to a supervisor, nothing. They have obviously done a 180 on making sure their customers are satisfied. I will never buy another piece of furniture from Thomasville. Guardsman warranty is crap as well. Do not purchase. And in the days of customer loyalty programs, it is appalling to me that they didn't have my information stored. I certainly will post on social media my extreme disappointment with Thomasville.

I bought several pieces of furniture by Thomasville because of the quality. The 1st bedroom suit I bought is still holding up after 8 years. Then, I bought a couch. What a mistake. I paid about $3,000 for it. I did not realize the cushions were stuffed with feathers. After getting stuck by several of them, I contacted the store. I was told that the couch should have a lining that prevents the feathers from sticking out and because I did not buy the warranty, there was nothing they could do. So I was stuck with the cough. Giving it away was not an option not as I spent a lot of money for it. I wish I would have read reviews of this company before I bought it.

I liked Thomasville furniture, so in Jan. I bought a "cognac" color media console and a cocktail table from it. However, as of right now, I have very bad experience in the furniture I got. I got my 2 pieces of furniture delivered on Feb. 16th, 2015 first. There are issues for both. The media console was wrong color and poor quality. I ordered the "cognac" color, but I got another color. But not just the wrong color, it was also poor quality. The door did not slide well and also there are multiple hitting marks on the furniture. I communicated with the customer service multiple times and verification from their service person, the customer service re-ordered me a new piece for correction.

After 1 month, eventually I was told the re-ordered piece arrived. The customer service did tell me for the new piece they will have "special inspection" before delivery to me to make sure it is the right color and good quality. On March 24th, the replaced furniture arrived, but after I took a look, it is the same wrong color. I was really pissed off. This is waste of my time for so much communications, sending photos and having their service guy to come to my house to verify the wrong color in the first delivery on 2/16/2015. So I refused to accept it this time. Evidently, it was not inspected at all before it was delivered to my house for the re-ordered piece, let alone "special" inspection.

Cocktail table: there are hitting dents and defective all over the table, especially the leg. So I asked to get it replaced as the media console. I sent the photos to customer service. She insisted it is repairable. I said I ordered the new pieces, with so many issues. It is not new piece any more after so many repairs. The repair will not get it to the level of brand new piece. After so many back and forth, I was tired. Since the issue for the leg is severe, I asked to give the replaced leg and try other area to repair. On 3/24/15, I received the re-ordered leg and wait for the repair and installation of the leg. But with all the multiple issues, shall I accept it as a brand new piece?

I have spent too much time to explain the issues, take photos, send emails, follow up the updates, call customer service and arrange the time for delivery and service and it is such a hassle so far and I still did not get what I ordered. I really want Thomasville to compensate all the extra time I spent on this. This is really very disappointing experience. It does not matter to have issue, but it matters how the company fixes the issue. I start to question whether Thomasville has quality control and inspection. If it does, how come I got the wrong color the second time. Why was I told a "special inspection" for the re-ordered piece, but nothing happened before it was delivered to me even the second time?

Actually this is not the first time I had this kind of issues. In early 2013, similar situation happened as well. I ordered the chairs for one color during Xmas time of 2012 and the chairs were not delivered till over 4 months later and then I got the wrong color. Ever since, I thought their quality control level was improved. But it seems now the issue is even worse than before. As of right now, I am disappointed and angry about my experience, so I want to use this channel to help me to get it fixed.

I bought a dining room floor model (Brompton Hall model) set from Thomasville in Paramus NJ for over $10,000. I was promised by the sales lady ** and store manager ** that the set I am getting is better than the floor model they had on their sales floor because "it was stored in their warehouse". I thought I am getting the furniture worth of $10,000, instead, I got refinished table with many dents (they have to replace it), a cabinet that lights are not working (they replaced the control unit and a light bulb because it was different size), paint was uneven (they have to retouch the paint), scratched glass shelf and missing wood plugs for screw holes which they refused to replace and all six chairs have cracked seat back and they used black Sharpie to do the touch up jobs (it is brown wood)! The repair technician told me that there is no way he can repair these cracks and retouch the lousy touch up they did because it was under the clear coat.

They refused to repair or replace these chairs. I went back with pictures to show another sales person- ask him whether it is acceptable for the chair backs to have such kind of touch up job and crack and still sell to a customer. He was shocked and told me that was not acceptable by anyone's standard. On top of that, Thomasville customer service supervisor ** added insult to the matter, declaring that there is no warranty for the furniture because it was floor model. When I bought the furniture, I was told that this set I am getting have full manufacturer’s warranty. I have asked whether I can have just the chairs returned or refunded, I was quoted for additional $2500 to get the chairs in the condition as I should get in the first place. They refuse to take anything back for refund. BBB was involved.

We have purchased multiple items from Thomasville including a dining room set, bedroom set and a chair. The sales woman told us about Guardsman insurance. We were interested since we were potentially about to move within the next few years. She told us as long as damage occurs inside the home it would be covered even if it was during a move. We ended up moving within the time frame covered by the insurance policy. The movers broke the bed right in front of me, scratched and gouged the rest.

When furniture arrived we filed a claim with Guardsman to have it fixed. They strung us along allowing us to believe that they intended to fix the damage but ended with an e-mail informing us that they were not covering any of it. I pursued the matter and after multiple phone calls finally received a refund for the initial purchase of the insurance from Guardsman. I will never purchase furniture from any company that supports or promotes Guardsman insurance.

We purchased a Thomasville Sectional. Paid over $3000, we've had Thomasville products in the past & were satisfied with quality. I checked this couch out as much as possible before purchase. Once couch arrived I noticed it was not as comfortable as couch in showroom. Cushions were very hard & stiff. Went back to store to check out the display model. It was considerably more comfortable & softer. Spoke with sales associate, was told the floor model had been there for years and was broken in & mine would soften over time. She was right. Within a short time 2 of the cushions had softened to the point of collapse. We are 2 adults, no kids at home and are not heavy. I am 5'7 138 lbs my husband is 5'11 175 lbs. This all happened within the 1st year.

Went back to the store and was told I'd get a call back to schedule someone to come out to our home. Never got that call. Called the store twice more and was told again I'd get a call back. Never received any calls. It's now been almost 3 years and we've bought a new couch (obviously elsewhere) to replace the Thomasville. We have offered our Thomasville couch to various charities but no one seems to take couches. As soon as we get an updated delivery date for the new couch we will post an ad for a free couch. We will place it in front of our home and hopefully some one who can use a free couch will come & get it. I am very surprised to see so many negative comments re: Thomasville. I had always considered Thomasville to be a quality brand. But, I guess that was then and this is now.

All companies strive to do everything right & well, but no company is perfect all of the time. But what separates a great company from the rest of the pack is how they handle their problems. It seems Thomasville has slid into mediocrity. Too bad another once great American Company is no more. Aside from posting here you know we've told everyone who would listen about the lack of Thomasville quality & customer service. It's a sign of the times in the USA. It's too bad.

Throughout the years I have purchased Thomasville Furniture and have been very pleased; therefore, when it came time to purchase a new sofa I did not hesitate when I saw a Thomasville sofa that I fell in love with. It is only my husband (65+) and myself (64) that reside in our home. Because of back surgery my husband feels more comfortable sitting in a straight back chair; therefore, I am the only one who occasionally sits on our sofa. After a year plus 4 months I complained to the company where I purchase my sofa that the cushions were starting to get nappy (piling). I was told to turn cushions frequently which I did to no avail. I was told that the warranty was for only a year and that I would need to check my extended warranty which I found out does not cover fabric.

I was told by my salesperson to contact Thomasville Furniture directly; however, because they had recently gone in to bankruptcy in April of 2014 she did not know what they would do to help me. Well, that is where my disappointment(s) began. I wrote two messages on the company website and both went unanswered. No acknowledgement whatsoever. I then decided to contact Thomasville by phone which I did. The lady on the other end was very polite and I was told that she would have a representative contact me for my local area and that she would send someone over to my home to take a look at my issue. No one ever responded and I looked up the lady's name that I was given in San Antonio, Texas and could not locate her.

I then called Thomasville back and spoke to the lady that I initially talked with and she said that she was not in San Antonio but was in her office. The lady returned my call and said she would check in to it. The next thing I knew I was bounced around from person to person, never talking to anyone twice. The last lady that contacted me by the name of Melanie told me she was going to check with someone who works with the fabrics to see if she could find out the reason why the fabric was discontinued and that she would not tell me she would call me back that day but would call me the next day. Well, I have not ever received that phone call. I did, however, receive an email from the Company, not sure exactly who, giving a written overview of their policy and their warranty. The last line told me that the fuzz balls are "pills" and that is not considered a manufacturing defect and for me to get a shaver to take care of the problem. THE END!

My complain is that the quality of the fabric did not meet up to Thomasville standards and the customer service was below standard. I, for one, will never purchase another piece of Thomasville Furniture nor will I ever recommend Thomasville Furniture to anyone else. Good business spreads by word of mouth. Also, check out the numerous other negative reviews as it appears I am not the only person who seems to have trouble with Thomasville Furniture.

We are paying a large sum of money for Vietnam and China made furniture and it be called Thomasville. It is misrepresentation at its best, that why it’s falling apart.

Suggest: When you purchase your furniture, add to the invoice that the items must be American made and if they fall apart with a 5 years, they are to be 100% replaced with the same item or 100% refund. Have the owner of the store sign it. I'm going to shop Vietnam imports and save $1000's for the same item. We are being Bamboozled!!

We tried to contact them and were told they are out of business. Very disappointed in this whole situation.

I bought about $10,000 of furniture for our family room about 3 years ago. One of chairs broke in January, with the plastic anchors that hold the springs to the frame snapping off completely. I first reached out to them in January, then again in February, and again in March. I finally spoke with one of the designers in March, and she said they had lost all of their records of prior purchases due to a computer system change, so they could not help me until they recovered their records. I asked for the manager to call me and she said she would make sure that happened. She lied, as I have not received any contact from Thomasville. This could be the worst customer service I have ever experienced, on a chair that cost us $1000. It is simply disgraceful. Buyer beware!

I purchased a sectional at the San Marcos, CA Thomasville store and had a similar experience to others on this site: spent $1000, delivered date not met (promised approximately 6 weeks but received after 12 weeks), depth of couch not what described on their website, couch does not feel like representative couch on showroom floor, all 6 cushions are now flat (1st two flattened approximately 2 weeks after receiving the couch), and according to the store manager, the couch needs to be opened up to add support to keep the cushions from sinking. I was quoted approximately 4 weeks to get the cushions replaced but subsequently found out it will take 8-12 weeks and the support would need to be added to the couch once the cushions arrive. I requested to return the couch and receive a refund. This was denied. Basically we're stuck with a very poorly built couch not nearly worth what we spent for it. Is there any recourse?

Thomasville's business practice should be investigated; once they have your money and the 3-day window to cancel is passed, they hold consumers hostage to their poor customer service and poor quality furniture without any reasonable recourse. There seems to be a pattern here with this questionable business practice. Shouldn't the customer be allowed to return the product if what they ordered was not delivered? The 3-day window is a joke for products that need to be manufactured. How can the consumer know what they're getting until it's been delivered?

Ordered and bought new in 11/2012. The cushions were super hard and went to mush in less than 6 mo. Finally I found out that they would warranty the cushions at a little over a year. Warranty cushions came in and were installed in about 2 months. Immediately, the same day, they were soft and mush, I called, I was a little upset, and the manager copped an attitude with me. This is happening at Thomasville Riverpark Fresno, CA. He was adamant that the replacements were the same as the originals, it was obvious that they were not but close to the same quality, JUNK!

So now the warranty man just came back out to take pics and send off warranty info again. He is the same guy that installed the warranty cushions. You can't tell me that he didn't know how soft the cushions were that he was installing last week. I got all the usual b/s excuses, "They have had a bad batch of cushions". Are they "made in the USA?" It feels more like something made in China to me. NEVER EVER will we go back to Thomasville. Our old couch was Ethan Allen and over 10 yrs old when we replaced and still the best couch we have ever had. I gave it to a friend and they still love it and won't give it back, lol. I will be checking to see what is avail to us legally. It really upsets me to pay that kind of money for something and have it be junk!

Apparently, Thomasville elected to use plastic coils or clips for support in their furniture in 2011. Normally, quality furniture makers use metal. We bought a sofa and loveseat in 2011 with said plastic pieces. They popped on the sofa within the first year causing sagging. After numerous phone calls to the Kennesaw, GA store someone finally came out to replace all of those clips. He was supposed to do the loveseat at that time even though it was not showing signs of sagging, yet.

Flash forward to 2013, the loveseat is sagging on one side. This loveseat is not used a great deal nor do we have young children jumping on it. I have tried unsuccessfully for 2 months to get someone out here to replace these clips (remember, they were supposed to do it when the sofa clips were replaced). My phone calls are not returned by the manager of the store. We own property in GA and in FL. Needless to say, we will never buy Thomasville again. Very poor quality and extremely poor customer service. I might add, in agreement with what a previous person commented on- the furniture is not as comfortable as the furniture in the showroom. Hmm... what's up with that?

There is not enough stuffing in the cushions. The cushions do not fit snugly on the sofa frame. The cushions are not even with each other. I wanted a sofa I could enjoy and also one I could occasionally sleep on. The only way to sit on this sofa is to perch precariously on the very edge! When I first complained at the Thomasville store the saleslady said there was nothing they could do. More recently I was told to take pictures and take them to the store. Thomasville used to stand for quality, but I will never purchase another item from them. Wonder how long it will take before they are in bankruptcy court! Losing business one customer at a time!!

I was given a lower verbal quote for a furniture purchase I made on 7/21/13. However, I signed for the contact for a higher cost which is my fault. However, Thomasville had a responsibility to tell me before I signed that the verbal quote was incorrect which they did not. The way I discovered that the prices were lower at the time I made the purchase, was from the Spring/Summer 2013 catalog they gave me after I had made my purchase. Approximately 2 weeks after my purchase, I decided to look at the furniture in the catalog, only to discover that all three pieces were listed at a lower price. I called the salesperson and was told that those prices expired on 6/21/13. I sent her an email the next day and she called me to let me know that she would talk to her manager and that the catalog prices expired on 6/26/13?

The manager replied and would not credit my account for the difference between the price I paid and those listed in the catalog and, he said that the catalog prices expired on 6/28/13, so I was given three different expiration dates for their Spring/Summer 2013 catalog. Also, the catalog has a sticker on it stating "New Prices". Thomasville HQ and the store that I made the purchase at said that the sticker was to let me know that the prices in the catalog had expired which does not make any sense whatsoever. I refused to accept delivery and a 20% restocking fee was deducted from my down payment which they calculated incorrectly and, when I called the store to inquire about the restocking overcharge, a very hostile employee stated, "Oh, I just found another credit," which they would not have issued if I had not called. Shame on them. In sum, if I had changed my mind about the purchase I would not have a problem paying the fee; however that is not what happened. This is a buyers beware complaint. Thank you.

I got no response so I called our salesperson. We finally were told that someone would contact us to take a look at the mattress.

A couple weeks later someone from Integrated Bedding Group showed up and assessed the mattress issues. After a couple more weeks we received a letter from Integrated stating that the sagging and hump were "within normal limits". The letter had no contact info, no phone number to call, no address. I called customer services that same day and she stated the next arrival date of the material would be 3/19/13. I then called the Thomasville store in Raleigh, NC and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with the manager on 3/11/13 and after explaining my situation, she said she was sorry. She did not seem eager to do anything until I told her I had cancelled my order.

At that time, she said she would take $220 off my amount due and send a loaner sofa out until I receive the sofa I ordered (we had sold our old sofa). She gave me a ship date of 4/8/13. It took a couple weeks to receive the loaner and it was not the one we were supposed to receive. I got a call from the manager in May to inform me now that there was a delay in the construction of the sofa. I asked if they ever sold loaners, told her I was interested in the recliner and asked what could I buy it for. She said I needed to check with my manager and call back. She called back and said $1,200 (I was shocked because I could buy a new recliner for that).

I finally received the call that my sofa was in. I asked the manager if she could come down on the price of the recliner. She gave me a price of $829. I have been very dissatisfied with the customer service I received or the lack thereof! I feel I have been more than patient seeming I have waited 5 months to receive my sofa. After that, 6 weeks went by, and I never heard from anyone regarding the delivery of the missing piece of furniture. I had contacted the salesperson, Janet, who initially told me she'd look into it and get back to me. After 6 weeks of not hearing back from her, I reached out to her again. She told me she'd look into it and get back to me. By the end of the week, she did not get back to me, so I called the store, and after she answered and placed me on hold for over 2 minutes, I hung up and called back requesting to speak to a manager. I spoke to a manager who just made excuse after excuse for Janet. This leads me to think that it is standard for them to neglect their customers after the sale is made. It's such a shame because they do have nice furniture, but the price premium that you pay is not conducive with the service you receive. I would never buy furniture here again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

We are extremely dissatisfied with our recent purchases from Thomasville of Agoura Hills, CA; both with the quality of the products and the post-sales customer service. It is appalling to me that after having spent over $11,000 on products, they only seem to be of good quality in the showroom but are of inferior quality with poor craftsmanship when delivered to your home. When you call the store salesperson, who has now made her commission on the sale, you get told in the most unfriendly and unprofessional way that it is customer service who has to deal with the issue.

Customer Service’s solution to all the problems is to have a sub-contractor come to your house to take pictures or quick fix your brand new custom made furniture. Of the 6 pieces of furniture, I have had issues with three of them. Our Ernest Hemingway accent table is not similar to the one that we saw in store and is imperfect on the table top. Thomasville’s solution is to send the contractor to take pictures of the table, tell me nothing can be done, or else exchange my brand new table with the floor model that has been, as per the customer service person, on the shop floor for 4-5 years!

Our $1,400 per chair leather recliner came with a manufacturing defect that made the leather rub against a bolt and scar the leather. Once again, the same contractor comes to rip out the leather from a new chair, tighten it further so that it does not rub and use a leather polish to hide the scar. The final and most recent issue is our dining table and chairs. They arrived on April 26, 2013, almost 5 months after the order was placed. I refused accepting the delivery as the top of the pedestal of the dining table was cracked all around the rim with a chip around where they tried to put a screw in. Again, it’s poor craftsmanship. What reflects poor customer service and lack in any quality control is them sending the table to me, the customer, in that condition!

An email to the President prompted a swift response and a call from CS who, at another customer’s expense, was to send me a replacement table. Eighteen days later, there were no calls and there was no table. A follow up email to the President states that I purchased the furniture from an independent store and need to deal with them. If the top management of this company has a complete lack of ownership and accountability, then you cannot expect much from the customer facing employees/representatives of Thomasville. In today's competitive business environment, this is a recipe for failure. If I had read reviews online before I spent so much money with them, I would have never bought furniture from them. Beware before you spend your money on extremely expensive, non US made, poor quality furniture from Thomasville; a place where the customers come last!

I purchased two sofas from Thomasville; one for my living room and one for my den. The sofas were delivered the same day. After inspecting the den sofa, it was extremely uncomfortable and only gave me approximately 18 inches of seating space; which is unusually short for a sofa. I immediately contacted the store. The sales person who came to my home and indicated it was the correct one for my den, came out and measured the sofa. She agreed that it appeared to be short, took photos and submitted a complaint. I asked if I could exchange the sofa for another, or if they could swap it for the floor model that I sat on and found more comfortable. They said no. Rather, they would exchange the cushions that they thought were overstuffed.

Three times, I received cushions and had to wait weeks between each exchange. The sofa was causing my back to hurt (I have two bulging disc). I continually called their customer support and sent emails to see if they would be willing to work with me since I purchased two sofas that day. The consumer support representative was polite, and she truly wanted to help, but said it was escalated to upper management. She gave me her manager's information and recommended that I contact him. I sent an email to her manager, and he never responded. They only told her that they would not exchange the sofa since it is a special order and one of their number one sellers.

All Thomasville sofas are special orders since you are required to choose a fabric when you make a purchase. I could understand that if I ordered a color that was unusual; however, it is a grey/beige chenille that would easily fit a color scheme in most decors, which I know the store could sell since they stated it was one of their number one sellers. The amount of time and money it took to remake cushions, which are not correct, with their reputation, Thomasville should have exchanged it. Well, the sofa still has the original tags since I rarely sit on it, and I have since listed it on an online sales site with the hope to sell it to someone who is in the market for a 78" apartment-sized sofa. Thomasville has lost a customer.

Maybe, (and just maybe), the powers that be at Thomasville will read these reviews and maybe use them to better their business practices. So despite the negative reviews, we took a chance and paid for it, literally. We ordered a sectional sofa and were told it would be ready in 8 weeks or maybe less. After 10 weeks, we were told that there was a problem with the model that was made, and they'd have to redo it.

After another 10 weeks, it was delivered. The color was significantly brighter than the swatch we ordered from. The sectional was not sized as it was designed by their sales person to fit our room, and the split between the sofa and loveseat was on the wrong side. Despite all of this, they would not return the item. We simply wanted to have the sectional picked up and credit on account. We have a dining room table, bedroom dresser, ottoman table, and now sofa to buy, so we would have easily spent the money again and then some. We will never buy another piece of furniture from this company.

Buyer Beware! Several things about this company, Thomasville Furniture, Phillip Hwy Jacksonville, FL, you feel safe thinking you're shopping at a reputable name store such as Thomasville. Well, the sign says Thomasville Furniture but they aka Classic Home Brands. If there are any kind of issues with delivery or the furniture itself, Thomasville Furniture will tell you that this location is an independent store and has nothing to do with Thomasville Furniture. They are not backed by Thomasville Furniture. I was not told this at the time of purchase. I learned this when I had a problem.

Why will you feel as though you have to go to Thomasville Furniture to complain or for assistance in resolution? You will get nowhere dealing with the Jacksonville store, at all.

On Labor Day weekend 2012, I ordered a table and six chairs. We asked all the right questions. We were told turn around was about 6-8 weeks. During a phone chat with salesperson Kaye, she told me furniture would be in the end of Oct. I never heard from Thomasville Furniture again.

Dealing with store manager, Diana, will get you nowhere as well. 12 weeks after purchase, all she could say was "I am sorry" & "the good news is furniture is in warehouse ready to be shipped out, delivery to you in three weeks." Over three weeks later, my calls were not returned. I spoke with an employee, Lisa; manager was too busy to talk with me. I guess too busy to return my calls as well (nothing new here). Manager told employee "Lisa" to tell me the very same thing she said three weeks prior, "Good news, furniture is in warehouse, ready to be shipped". They must be trained to tell customers that for I have read this in other complaints on the internet. I have requested a full refund twice. Both times this has been ignored.

I have gone to the BBB, and guess what? This company did not respond. I have also gone to my credit card company. Next step is General Attorney of FL. Then if the company still refuses refund, a lawyer. The only way at this point to resolve this matter is a full refund from Thomasvile Furniture aka Classic Home Brands located on Phillips Hwy Jax, FL. So, they are indeed the Grinch who stole Christmas, took my hard-earned money and I have an empty dinning room, not the way companies should be allowed to do business!

Oh, one last interesting fact about this company, when I asked for the manager's supervisor's name and number, the employee, Lisa, refused to give it to me. That about says it all about this company. Buyer beware!

I purchased furniture from Thomasville about 7.5 weeks ago, and I have yet to receive my fully paid for merchandise. The pillows were delivered about 3 weeks ago, and I was told that the furniture should be there within 1 week. I called the store numerous times, and they said that I should be receiving a call from the delivery department, but I never did. I called the delivery department, and we scheduled my delivery for the following Tuesday, and I should be receiving a call the day before with my 4-hour window. I never received the call on Monday and left several voice mails with no call back. I then received a call on Tuesday stating that my delivery was rescheduled for the following day and not all of my furniture will be part of the delivery.

I was beyond disappointed, as I have already waited about 2 months for my furniture, taken the day off of work, and still no furniture. Needless to say, I will never purchase another item from Thomasville. Their customer service is despicable, and their lack of communication between the store and delivery department is quite frustrating for the customer. Side note: I ordered my living room furniture from Bassett after ordering my Thomasville furniture, and I received my Bassett furniture on time, as promised. Bassett's customer service is outstanding, and they have the same exact selection of furniture as Thomasville, but with outstanding customer service, delivery on-time guarantee, and no headaches. Take it from me, never shop at Thomasville. Go to Bassett.

Last summer, I purchased a new Thomasville couch from Drury’s Furniture in Fountain, MN. There were two problems that I was told would correct with time. There were folds in the back on one side and a fold line the whole length of the front skirt. After months of waiting for it to work itself out, I called Drury’s Furniture and they sent a local upholster to fix the folds and told me to steam the line in the skirt. The upholster did remove the back of the couch and did pull the fabric to straighten. This only lasted temporarily and now the glaring folds are back.

I steamed the skirt multiple times and the line is still very noticeable. While the personnel at Drury’s do acknowledge the problems and have been sympathetic, they say there is nothing more they can do and that Thomasville Furniture also will not do anything more. In the past, I have purchased many pieces of Thomasville furniture (7) and have had no problems. This couch looks terrible and it is hard to believe my only recourse is to purchase another new couch. I think it is very unfortunate that you do not stand behind your workmanship and will certainly relay this information to any friends.

Thomasville is having the worst Thanksgiving contest on Facebook. I would suggest that anyone and everyone that has a problem with Thomasville post their story as an entry on how Thomasville ruined their Thanksgiving. Ours is the ultimate Thanksgiving disaster, thanks to Thomasville. We have lost close to $13,000 to Thomasville because of defective furniture and no refund. All of this happened in October of this year so our Thanksgiving is completely ruined and no family dinners at our house this year. A total disaster.

The sofa, as can be seen from the photos, was a piece of Chinese junk after paying $4,669.00 for it. The Dinezen chairs that we did accept have a problem with the upgraded fabric stretching out so they look like an unmade bed. The ottoman to match the sofa has such cheap leather it is already showing signs of wear. Plus when we canceled the bedroom furniture, we were told we would lose 25% of what we paid for restocking fees.

This was not a special order bedroom set and can be resold to the next foolish consumer. Stanley Furniture stopped having their furniture made in China because they had too many problems and wanted to keep their reputation. Clearly, Thomasville is not the furniture of our parents and grandparents. Thomasville knows it, that is why they use every possible loophole to avoid standing behind their product.

I wish we could bring a class action lawsuit against them. Or at the very least, change the law so there are some lemon furniture protection rights for consumers. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act contains many loopholes that allow furniture manufacturers and retailers to sell defective products with very little recourse for consumers. For example Thomasville Furniture will not warrant their furniture if it is purchased from a store they do not own, they call it a limited warranty.

After homes and automobiles, furniture is one of the largest investments many people make. But if they receive defective furniture, there are few recourses to the buyer. Refunds are next to impossible, repairs are difficult to obtain, and even with repairs, the consumer is often left with defective furniture that requires repeated service calls.

Thomasville Furniture's contracts specifically state that they are only subject to Kentucky laws in a specific county, yet they sell nationwide. This leaves consumers in other states very little choice for resolution of product problems. Other furniture manufacturers and retailers use the same loopholes to avoid refunds and repairs on defective furniture. We need tougher Federal laws to protect consumers nationwide against lemon furniture manufacturers and retailers.

We purchased an "expensive" sofa from Thomasville Furniture with the assurance that it would withstand my family of four sitting on it every day because it is our main sofa. It wasn't more than a few months before we had our first service call. They had to take the entire sofa back to their service warehouse to replace all of the springs because they were bad. We have had their repairman out to our home at least 10-11 times to replace the cushion cores because they are breaking down and are horrible quality, or to repair any other issue we had with the sofa.

They were out to our home as early as two weeks ago. Now a couple of the new cushion cores are so hard we can't even sit on them. In fact, I sit on the floor and lean against the sofa. After having the cores replaced for the fifth time now, with all of our service calls documented, we requested that Thomasville pick up their sofa and give us a full refund. They are now stating that per their "Limited Warranty" it is their decision whether to repair or replace their product and that the will not be able to receive a refund. Basically, they are telling me that I am stuck with a $6,600.00 lemon of a sofa. I am totally disgusted by this and want to let people know that Thomasville does not back up their products or workmanship.

We purchased a set of Jamison, Gemini Latex mattresses from Thomasville Furniture on September 6th 2010 at a cost of $2811.04. After shopping many stores and many brands, we decided to purchase the Jamison mattress from Thomasville Furniture believing that they were a reputable retailer and decided on Jamison because we were told tthat hey provided mattresses to Marriott Courtyard Hotels. We had recently stayed at a Courtyard Hotel and were pleased with the comfort of the bed, so, Jamison was of interest to us. Franklin, the salesperson at Thomasville, seemed knowledgeable, assured us that we were getting the mattress we slept on at The Courtyard and that it was the mattress he and his wife sleep on. He persuaded us that Thomasville was a retailer we could rely upon for problem resolution and they were here to take care of us and that Jamison was a particularly good manufacturer of exceptionally high quality products, which they stood behind.

The mattress was delivered on September 18th 2010. From the very beginning, the mattress was uncomfortable and painful to sleep on so approximately five days after receiving the mattress, I called Franklin, telling him that I was not happy with the mattress and needed some help. He suggested turning the mattresses over. This mattress offers a firmer side when turned over. He said to change the mattresses from one side to the other too, if turning them over did not solve the problem. We did both and, after a few more days, I called him back to report the changes did not help and if he can assist us with a refund or exchange. He said that a representative would call.

I was contacted by Keith **, the Operations Manager of the Thomasville Furniture Store. He said that he would come out and look at the mattresses to see what could be done. After looking at the bed and mattresses, Keith said that he would discuss the problem with the Jamison Representative and get back to me with what they would be able to do.

On October 22nd 2010, I received a call from Keith Young. He said that after talking with the Jamison representative, they were not going to be able to do anything to help me with the problem as the mattresses were performing as they are supposed to. I did not agree with their decision. I made phone calls and wrote letters to Thomasville Corporate offices and to the Better Business Bureau but neither was willing to help. Thomasville just seemed completely unwilling to refund a $2800.00 cash purchase and the BBB insisted Thomasville was a member in good standing, and they thought Thomasville's response to my complaint was adequate and acceptable which I disagree completely.

I believe manufacturers and retailers should be held responsible for poor quality products they bring to market. They should have to take inferior, non-performing, injurious products off the market and make refunds to consumers for purchases made. They should have to compensate consumers for the suffering they have caused.

Franklin, the sales representative at Thomasville, intentionally misled and deceived us. Then Thomasville and Jamison used sanitation laws to avoid their responsibility stating that they could not accept a mattress back after it had been slept on in our home. I have been sleeping on this mattress since it was delivered, because I cannot afford to replace it, and have no confidence in the honesty or integrity of mattress retailers. I endure agonizing pain throughout the day and have to greatly reduce my activities because of the pain. Without medication, I cannot sleep on the mattress. I don't know what to do. The situation has become totally intolerable and unbearable. I cannot believe I'm the only one in this predicament.

We have purchased a sofa and matching chair from them. We picked a fabric for the product. After a month, when we finally received the product, the fabric is totally different from our selection. The quality of fabric is poor and the color is lighter. The fabric we chose did not have a noticeable polka dot pattern, but the sofa came with them.

I went to the store to complain, but they claim that the sofa came with the same fabric we have chosen. They claim that the same fabric can have slight color difference and the quality of fabric. To my eyes, they were not slight difference. They look like two different fabrics. Finally, they were willing to change the fabric.

We wanted dark green color as we have originally chosen, but they have no other dark green fabric. After searching the entire sample from the store, we found one that looks ok but were not 100% satisfied. We didn't want to go through the same problem as before, so we've requested a sample fabric from the factory.

After two weeks of waiting, we received a letter notifying us that the fabric is not available. It has been two months of numerous calls and many drives to the store. We were fed up with whole thing and finally requested for the full refund. They refused to give us the refund, nor any compensation for the inconvenience. Now we are stuck with an ugly $4,600 sofa.

I order cabinets back in May 2007 from Thomasville Cabinetry. These cabinets are under a lifetime warranty. I have contacted Home Depot and Thomasville on several occasions and here I am, 4 weeks later, with the same issue. Home Depot tells me to contact Thomasville and Thomasville asks me to contact Home Depot.

I need to order additional cabinets only to be told by Thomasville rep Jay that my cabinets were not purchased from them. I gave him and countless other reps my order number and they pulled it up in their system and promise me that Mary Beth or her Supervisor would return my calls. I have yet to hear from either of them. This is totally unacceptable from Thomasville and Home Depot. I have requested to speak to other supervisors but Jay prevents that and tells me that he will send an email to Mary Beth or her supervisor to get back to me.

I just talked to Phoebe, Jay's supervisor, and she told me that she contacted Mary Beth and she stated she will get back to me by the end of next week. When or if she returns, this will be going into the 5th week of me trying to get my issues resolved. Thomasville has asked that I not contact them anymore and just wait until they get back to me or deal with Home Depot. This is enough to make a person snap. I will be filing a complaint with consumer affairs as well. I want this issue resolved immediately and I want a complaint issued against Thomasville on your website. Their customer service is horrible. Please help.

I ordered sofa and loveseat. It lasted about 2 months and then the cushions lost any support and would deflate after sitting in them for 5 minutes. The arms squeaked when leaned on. They inspected the sofas and agreed with us. They let me re-select and this new set was even worse. The foam rubber smell was so bad for the first few days it made your eyes water. I had to leave the windows open to air out. Even to this day, the seat cushions still have an odor. The cushions and springs once again gave absolutely no support and you would sink in about 4 inches after only a couple of minutes. We are not obese, just average-sized people! They came out to inspect the sofas after we complained.

We only had them for 2 weeks this time and they were already breaking down! They have offered to replace all the cushions and to beef up the springs. I just want my money back. Why would I want to rebuild a sofa that is only 2 weeks old? I paid good money for defective merchandise! They want to keep approximately 25% ($900.00) for restocking if they take them back. It seems so unfair since what I ordered isn't what I got delivered. I even took the cushion into the store to compare with the ones in the store and the salesperson couldn't believe the difference of the two! I paid good money to a company that used to be known for quality... but not anymore!

My husband and I bought furniture: a recliner, love seat, and a club chair with ottoman from Thomasville Furniture store four years ago. We contacted them for some assistance with the furniture. I truly feel that they picked it up, looked at it...maybe, and then returned it to us as it was. This recliner is awful, and the club chair is miserably uncomfortable. I certainly will replace these as soon as I can save enough funds to do so, but you can be sure that Lazy Boy will not be a part of my purchases, either. Sorry but their quality and name are being badly damaged with this type of furniture. We thought we had gotten the best. We were wrong and will not recommend them to anyone else. Thanks for allowing me to complain.
