I would never use this company again. I attempted to cancel and they went through a 20 minute spill about keeping it until closer to my renewal date because I had already paid for it so I stupidly kept it thinking I would cancel closer to that date, but I got busy and forgot and they billed me again instead of just cancelling the first time I called and wanted to cancel. Then they won't refund you, but immediately cut off your access. So I am paid up through the end of next month, but I can't have the benefits of it. I recommend MyFico. I have always had a great experience with them.

I have two major issues with IdentityIQ:

Subscription Policy: I paid $79 for a yearly subscription and an additional $39 to upgrade and access my credit reports. IdentityIQ only offers recurring subscriptions, so I had to pay for a full year upfront. After subscribing, I decided to cancel the same day, expecting to retain access for the remainder of the year since I had paid in full (a common practice by companies like Disney, Netflix, Hulu, AT&T, and Verizon). However, IdentityIQ's policy is different. When you cancel, you lose access immediately, with no option for a prorated refund. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with their customer service, only to be told that this was their policy. In the end, I did not receive a full refund.

Verification Issues: I was referred to IdentityIQ by a loan consultant to help establish a loan. To ensure due diligence, I called IdentityIQ to verify their relationship with this consultant. Despite providing the business name, IdentityIQ refused to verify the relationship. It is troubling that a company focused on "theft and data protection" does not verify such relationships for their customers.

Overall, I do not recommend IdentityIQ. They do not provide refunds and fail to protect customer interests. Stay away.

PLEASE do sign up for this company's services- you will be paying monthly fees forever. I signed up for a free trial in July when I needed to check my credit for student loan purposes. I then canceled it... except that 9 months later, I'm still being charged. They claim to have no record of my cancellation attempts. I have requested a refund, and they are "as a courtesy" giving me less than a third of what I paid them. I've spent an hour on the phone with them and I'm still afraid I'm going to be billed next month.

Hello, I noticed that since May 2023, this company has taken $34.99 out of my account. I thought it was my Hulu bill (which is around the same price). I changed

my Hulu subscription and noticed the $34.99 still being withdrawn. When I actually looked at my bank statements, it showed Identity IQ. I don’t not know who or what this is. I am on hold with their company now as of 9/20/2023.

I called the number for a law group named Caine Weiner. The guy who answered was very nice and helpful, providing info on my credit report and offering to email me all 3 for a $1 fee. I specifically mentioned a couple times that I was calling Caine Weiner, and he never let me think otherwise. The $1 credit charge should have tipped me off, but I'm still naive sometimes... He offers to call me back in a few days and discuss a $100+/month fee for him to fix my credit, 90-day guarantee. I say I'll think about it, we end the call. Next thing I know, I received an email from "IdentityIQ", not an email containing my credit reports. After trouble logging in, I have to call to access my account. I get another sales pitch.

I decided to cancel my "free trial" after realizing they're going to charge me (again, I was never informed of any of this). I have to call to cancel. The rep "cancels my membership" and tries 3 or 4 more sales pitches on me after. NOT INTERESTED. I ask that she ensures my credit card info is deleted, due to other reviews I've seen about people continuing to be charged by this company. According to her and her manager, they do not delete CC info, and will keep it on file forever. Shady business practices with the bait & switch, and now I have to be wary of their system charging me in future.

I don't see why I cannot get my refund. I started to call before the date. They don't give you the option to cancel online. You have to call, but when you call no one picks up. They let the phone ring a lot. I waited today. it rang almost 8 times before someone finally picked to tell me they cannot refunded. I just saw a $35.99 on my AMEX for membership IdentityIQ which I never applied for. I contacted the company. First, the staff was so fast, I suppose she was reading from somewhere that I even did not understand what she was talking about. I managed to get her to talk to me in a way that I could understand. I asked her why I am paying for a service that I did not even apply for. She told me a third party might be involved. I only used it 2-3 times for a credit score that was $1 and was provided by a real estate portal.

She told me that $1 might be for one week, then they turn the membership to if I did not cancel. I am sure there was not such a thing, besides, she told me that the third party was Rocketcreditsccore, which I do not even remember. When I checked this company, it was all over the internet as a scam, and yet these companies still use their sources. The IdentityIQ returned my money and canceled my membership (at least she told me), but there should be something more. If they are not cooperating with these scam companies why they do not raise a red flag over them and block their sources? That is the main question.

The business model for this company is to just get money from you. You are asked for a $1 dollar charge for a free trial and then they will immediately enroll you into their program for 34.99 a month. They say they send you an email about this, so pay attention. You have 7 days! Including weekends. For this to happen. I was told I would not be charged for the services and then I was still charged anyways. You NEED to call to cancel and they STILL try and sell you their insurance. It takes about 20 minutes to do so. If you do the $1 dollar trial, be sure to cancel immediately. This is a good way for the company to scam you. My account was put in the red zone for this, so be aware. This is pretty much a scam.

Now that I am able to look at my bank statements, I found that my subscription was never cancelled and I have been charged $29.99 month for all of these months...that is about $300.00. They claim they do not have a record of my call to cancel, yet I made the call with my financial advisor sitting with me. My brother's bank account was hacked into by a hacker that was making charges via IdentityIQ. When I initially called, I was transferred to an upper management woman who took all the information and it was eventually taken care of. But during the process I tried called the woman who I initially talked to and was never called back. I had to be in contact with my brother's bank to resolve this issue because he is disabled.

The last time I spoke with this company they had the nerve to try to get me to sign up for their services after IdentityIQ failed to even prevent their own company, which is supposed to prevent you from this type of fraud, to get hacked. I apologize in advance if I used any incorrect technical terms when referring to identity and fraud protection. I just concerned about when people are paying this company for identity and fraud protection etc. that this company was hacked themselves and at a cost of many hours of myself making sure it was resolved and not even a followup call from their fraud department even explaining what happened. So I recommend anyone using this service to be aware and check that you weren't hacked and charged for services that you didn't ask for.

One final note, my brother never had an account with IdentityIQ and somehow they were able to get to his bank account while using Identity IQ as a way to access his bank account. So buyer beware and if ConsumerAffairs.com would like to contact me for additional information, I welcome them to contact me. So buyers beware.
