An HSBC ATM ripped me off of 400 dollars. I called the atm number listed on the machine and was met with someone who could have cared less about the rip off. She told me to call my own bank and make a complaint. I did. I filed a claim, and it was denied. NO REASON given but probably because I was an out of state customer. I even have all of the slips showing that the ATM was in error!

it cost me many hours of trying tpo remedy the situation.I have all of the required documentation and they STILL denied my claim!

H&R Block does our taxes every year. We normally have our tax preparation costs deducted from our IRS return. The IRS wires our refund to HSBC, HSBC takes out H&R Block fees, then wires the balance to our account. We beleive the IRS has already wired HSBC our Economic Stimulas Funds and is "floating" funds to make interest on these funds by not sending them out right away.

We are going to be late paying some bills as these funds are being held by HSBC which will hurt our credit scores making it impossible for us to refinance our mortgage. I am a stay at home dad and my wife a school teacher at LA Unified School District. LA Unified also owes us money due to a new screwed up payroll system.

I bought some stuff at CasualMaleXL. Great store. They offered me a discount by entering the purchase on a "Casual Male XL Credit card." I took it and within a week got a credit card in the mail that says CASUAL MALE XL on the front. On the back it says clearly "casualmalXL.com." On the paper it was attached to it says to call 1-800- to activate the account or for customer assistance. That phone answers as "Casual Male XL" and directs me to the same casualmaleXL.com website. I go there and set up an account, entering all my personal information, takes several minutes. But when I check to see my statement of account, THERE'S NOTHING THERE! The only reference to credit cards is "add credit card," which is for Visa, Mastercard, etc. - in other words, set up a completely new form of payment with them.

I call Casual Male and am told that the credit card I got has "NOTHING TO DO WITH CASUAL MALE. IT'S COMPLETELY SEPARATE. THAT'S HSBC. THEIR ACCOUNTS ARE COMPLETELY SEPARATE FROM CASUAL MALE." Note, they're talking about the credit card that has CASUAL MALE all over it and their website, and NO reference to HSBC. No HSBC logo at the bottom right, nothing. Well, on very careful inspection, at the top left on the back side there's tiny white print that says "HRS1012 (09/05)"

I call the original 800 number again and wade through the menu, entering my card number and the last four of my SSN, and finally I get to speak to a human being. I'm told that to see my statement, I have to go to HSBC's web page, hrsaccount.com, NOT Casual Male. So I go there and, again, put in the account number from the card and my zip code, and then I'm told that I have to SET UP AN ACCOUNT. They already have an account for me, I entered the account number - but I have to set up an account! So I enter all my personal information, name address age sexual preference birthmarks SSN etc etc and when I click submit I'm told that my login already exists. This is a very unusual login that I use for all my accounts, so I call up HSBC again on the phone.

I wade through the menu again and finally get to speak to a human, who asks me if I have another HSBC account. I remember that I had one for Best Buy, one of the most horrid credit experiences I've ever had. He says that account is blocking me from entering my username login and that I have to create an entirely new account. I ask him why the old account hasn't been deleted, as I paid if off years ago and said "close it." He won't answer that. He just keeps telling me that I have to reenter a new account. I keep telling him to answer my question, and he won't. He infers that I don't understand him. I hang up and check my old records for the old login to my old Best Buy account and try that out. It no longer works. I remember that one of the problems with that account was that I had to keep changing the user name and password because they would never work.

I call HSBC again and go through the routine with another person, getting more and more upset, and she puts me on hold to talk to a supervisor. I wait over 20 minutes and when someone picks up, it's not a supervisor. I tell him how I've been waiting and he puts me on hold and I only have to wait another 5 minutes to talk to a supervisor. She tries to explain things to me like I'm an idiot. She says it's impossible for them to do business any other way. How could I possibly direct my payment to the right store, if they didn't have completely separate accounts for each store? I ask her how other credit card companies do it. Can you imagine having to have a completely different account for every different store where you used your credit card?

She explains to me, like I'm a four-year old, that this "is not a credit card - it's a merchant account retail card." I tell her they should be out of business if this is what they call customer service. It would take about an hour to set up a system where I could log in to HSBC with one login and then choose what store I wanted to pay off, if that's what they need. I tell her I am going to pay off the balance, and I want all trace of me erased from HSBC's records forever, all accounts closed.

She says she can close my Casual Male Account. I ask, don't I also have an inactive account? I want that closed too. She says "We have you ON FILE, but I can close the active account." I say, "What about the inactive account? I want that closed too. And all the merchant and affiliate and non-merchant privacy agreement stuff, all that canceled. I want NOTHING more to do with HSBC." She says the inactive account will be closed too. Aha, I say, "you DO know about the inactive account." "I'm sorry if you misunderstood me," she says. "I didn't misunderstand you," I say. "You're just not talking straight to me. You knew I had an inactive account, but when I asked you if I had one, instead of saying "Yes, we'll close that for you too," you said, "We have you ON FILE and started talking about the active file again. What is wrong with you people? Why can't you talk straight?"

She wants my address so she can send me a notification of closure. I give it to her and she says she'll get me back to someone who will take my payment. She puts me on hold and after about 5 minutes I get someone. She takes my info and I make sure to tell her again that I want to OPT OUT of all the privacy agreement stuff, and briefly I tell her that I've been with HSBC for about an hour already and just want to pay it off and then have nothing more to do with the company, and she's all customer-service nice, sorry you've have a bad experience, thank you for your feedback, and finally she asks for my payment info and I give her my Master Card number.

"SORRY," she says. "WE ONLY TAKE CHECKS." So I dig out my checkbook and give her the routing number and account number and a check number. And then she says "THERE WILL BE A $15 CHARGE ADDED TO YOUR BILL FOR TAKING PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE." I explode. "NO WAY!" etc. She puts me on hold and checks with her supervisor and returns to tell me that she CAN'T take the $15 charge off, but she has approval to recredit it after the payment comes in. In about two days. I get her name (Brandi) and Rep number (B7T.)

I'm waiting for a statement of account. If the past is any prologue, the charge will still be there, along a lot of other [charges]. The next time anyone asks you to enroll in a charge card, ask them if it's HSBC. It so, say NO THANK YOU. It's not worth it. HSBC [is bad], bigtime. Nothing but profit leeches. They should go out of business, the sooner the better. I don't really care about suing them but please share this information.

i have experienced several insufficient fund fees from the bank when using my debit card. the card should decline if the amount charged will exceed the funds available, but i was informed that there is an exception if the merchant does not collect the funds immediately. usually before making a purchase, i check my account balance online or over the phone. it tells me my bank balance and my available balance. when a purchase is made, the funds are deducted from the available balance, even if it is a small business, until the merchant collects the amount from the bank. then the transaction will officially post and reflect on my bank balance. this means that the bank is aware of the purchase and sets the money aside until the merchant comes to collect.

i have been charged 4 separate insufficient fund fees of $35.00 in the past month. i strongly believe this was manipulated by the bank. two of the purchases were made at the A&P supermarket and GNC, both which are large companies. purchases will reflect on the available balance immediately and decline if funds are unavailable.

Sometime in 2007, HSBC changed my credti card account number due to a privacy breach at one of thier partners. At that time, they mailed a new card to my home address. I continued to use the HSBC card and continued to make payments trhough my automated bill pay at Washington Mutual. In March 2008, HSBC returned my payment to my bank. HSBC changed my interest rate to a default rate as a resutl of this payment being returned to my bank.

In April 2008, I noticed that the payment had been returned and contacted HSBC to determine what had happened. HSBC was much less than helpful during this call and insisted that I must have changed the account number at my on-line bill payment site. I told HSBC that I have not made any changes to the bill pay account since it was set up and that they had been receiveing payments for the past several years. HSBC did not perform any research to determine whether any changes in their processes of systems could have resulted in the payment being returned.

In May 2008 I revied my bank acocunt again and noted tha tthe April 30 payment to HSBC had also beeen returned to my bank. Upon review of the vendor record, I noted that the account number on my automatic bill pay did indeed differ form HSBC's number (BECAUSE HSBC changed my account number over 1 year ago). HSBC adjusted my interest rate from 7.99% to over 30% due to their rejection of my payment. HSBC may have reported this payment to a credit bureau.

HSBC is unfair for the following reasons: I did not request a change in account number and was not advised about the implication of this change. HSBC continued to accept payments form me under the old account number. HSBC personnel did not perfrom approriate research to explain that thier system purged old account numbers after a specificed period of time.

I was offered a 0% balance transfer for 12 months and 9% monthly interest on regular purchases. I transfered a balance to this card and paid on it on time and every month. The check would clear my bank within days before the due date but I would always get a late fee charged to my account. When I questioned this I was told I was paying to soon before the due date. This sounded crazy but was told anything within 10 days of the due date is credited to the amount due the other payments are considered just payments towards the balance. Again I disagreed that after a bill went out and I paid it should be placed towards that months bill.

I then started going online to pay the monthly statement within 10 days and noticed that the payment would not clear until after the due date. I couldnt get it paid ontime no matter what I did. I set up automatic payments to see if that would stop all these late fees. Of course the check would clear in no time but the payment would not be posted till the due date or later. I cashed in some rewards (cash back program) and received a check in the mail, which I thought was my cash back reward (was the same amount $25) and put it into my account. The next month I had numerous fees bringing me over my limit (way over). When I argued these fees I was told to contact a 3rd party. I questioned why I would be charged this for receiving a cash back check that I earned. They told me it was not a cash back check I cashed.

After 2 months I still had not receieved my cash back earnings, still had $300 more to cash in, but was limited to $25 at a time. When I called about the check they promised to send I was told I was over my limit and from all the late payments I forfeited my cash back bonus. I asked to close my account immediately, and was told I could not close it while I was over the limit, so I offered to do a check over the phone for all fees over the limit on the spot and then close it. I paid those fees and then was told they could not close it due to my balance being to high. I though good you got my money, my bonus, and now you wont close it. SCAM!

I asked for a manager who told me the same thing. In Feb. 08 a month after asking to close my account I received a generic letter stating that my interest rate will going from 9% to 29% after my next billing statement. I could payoff my account in full and close it or my new APR would be 29%. Great now I have lost money, bonus, and have a sky high interest rate. I feel like I am being violated. I had a balance of $4997 at the time of this letter and took my income tax check and paid a little over $2000 on this account. I have not used this card once and just got my statement and its back up to $4300 cause of the finance fees and other they keep adding on.

Unfortunately my credit score has lowered, no one wants to grant me credit cause of this, and I have gone from Tier 1 to Tier 2 credit in the past year. I am starting to struggle to pay the minimum balance of $200ish each month along with other necessary bills. I used to pay more then the minimum but at this rate paying the minimum of $200 is only wiping out about an average of $20 a month off the principle.

I received a notice dated March 22, 2008 notifying me of a change in terms on my HSBC GM credit card account. They periodically evaluate our business and implement changes...as a result of a change in your credit rating received from a reporting agency...the terms of my account will be changing on the first day of my billing cycle on or after 5-22-08. On the last page of this notice, it says that my current interest rate of 16.99% will be increasing to 30.99%!

I was given an Opt Out option if I responded in writing within 30 days, with payment in full...or they could cancel my card and I could pay it out at the current rate. I immediately called and asked to speak to a manager. I was told that this was the policy, and there was nothing she could do about it. This, after she agreed that I had an excellent payment history with no issues. Based solely upon one reporting agencies comments: Payments are low compared to balance owed etc. I said that this appeared to be less than ethical on their part, and that it was gauging the consumer.

I confirmed that they were about to double my interest rate based on generic comments, and an excellent payment history. She said yes. I have a credit monitoring service and I get regular notifications of any changes to my credit...the only recent change occured on 7-17-07, when a new department store account was opened up for $649.00. My current credit scores are: 719, 721, 721 I do not currently have the available funds to pay the balance off in full, and if they cancel the card, then it will be a negative reflection on my credit. I know that Congress is looking a new legislation to prevent this kind of price gauging, but I need to know what else I can do immediately to prevent this.

Credit card interest rate doubling from 16.99% to 30.99% with an excellent payment history. Makes it impossible to pay off or get ahead.

Economically speaking, I do not have and should not have to pay $139.99. If I close all of my accounts which are by the way paid off, this will lower my credit score.

I purchased a 2007 Suzuki GSX600 from Roseville Motorsports in April of 2007. My loan was to be set at 12.9% for a period of six years unless I defaulted. Of course there was no information in the original purchase documents about what would happen if I defaulted. My payments were to be $139 per month and some months I waited and made a double payment the next month thinking that would cover the late fees and the current payment. Come to find out that because I went more than 30 days past due my APR changed to 21.9% which increased my monthly payments to over $400 because I had two different balances on the loan.

All the double payments I was making still left my account past due but no body failed to explain this to me. They just kept asking for a payment over the phone. I called HSBC and was referred to my cardholder agreement which came about four weeks after the purchase of my motorcycle. Yes the documentation was there in fine print but I don't understand why this information was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase. If I would have known that then I would have made sure to make my payments on time to avoid all the hassle and headache.

About two weeks ago they knocked on my mother's door and said that since she co-signed she had to release the motorcycle, otherwise there would be a grand theft auto charge filed against her. Not speaking English she obliged. I just found out that it is located in Southern California and I live in Northern. Is there a law against how far they can take the motorcyle? They're asking for the whole loan up front in order for it to be released but why would I pay off a loan that is more than what I left the lot with? HSBC is terrible and I hope that with all these complaints, some good will come out of it. It is unfair to all consumers to find out after the fact that the original deal that they signed is no longer good because the bank said so.

My credit as well as my mother's has been severely damaged by this incident.

When I called the TL 800 number, they told me as a partner of HSBC I was given the valuable memebership as part of a $20 gift card from lowes.

I then had a family member contact the washington state attorney general about financial elder abuse and unauthorized charges to the account with supporting documentation. She then found the fraud hotline number for HSBC called them, told them if they did not remove the charges and cancel the account w/in 5 days she would file a suit against them for financial elder abuse in Washington.

7 phone calls and a smart daughter fixed the issue. This should be a lesson to anyone with a credit account to check it, and your checking accounts daily to stop fraud. The banks, credit card companies and retailers are all out to take advantage of the misinformed. Don't be one of them.

I received a letter in the mail telling me my account was closed due to inactvity. I last used the card 7 months ago. That's a period of inactivity? I'm outraged that they would not give me the opportunity to keep the card active and close this account without warning.

I was given the opportunity to re-apply for a credit card. Re-applying for credit in this manner will negatively affect my FICO score, and its ludicrous that an established customer with a good history would have to do such a thing. Mostly, I think its an unfair business practice to just close an account for such a trivial reason without warning. It destroys a positive credit element on my credit rating and makes a good customer feel betrayed.

One girl who has now left, approved a small line of credit for my husband in which the balance has increased without warning for the amount of actual missed payments. Instead of the interest being added on - as is supposed to happen, they tacked on the extra $$$. When questioned, we were advised that this loan should not have even approved in the 1st place, and they will look into - that was 1 month ago now, and head office is calling non-stop!

I am currently of Long Term Dis. from work, and we have moved our payments to the end of each month. The office told us 5 times that yes, it has been looked after. Still, to this day, hasn't been done. We put stop payments on all 3 loans for mid-month and take physical cheques into the office. Yet... they keep hitting our account every mid-month, causing NSF charges. Today I rec'd 5 calls from HSBC's head office to speak to my husband, harassing me nastily, yet saying that I didn't have authorization to find out what it was about!

The next month, I sent the full payment in seventeen working days before due date and was, again, charged a late fee. It seems as if the payment processing center deliberately holds the payment for the day right after the due date in order to be able to charge a late fee.

I am on a very limited budget, and the $60 total late fees has caused my having to do without enough food for those months. I have lost confidence in HSBC Credit Card Services.

I have been harassed by telephone (are never ending!), my funds have been misapplied by being put in unapplied funds, I have been threatened with foreclosure, and the accounting practices are nothing short of stealing my hard earned money! HSBC has made millions off the common consumer who just wants a roof over his/her head and the satisfaction of home ownership. Is there NOTHING that can be done to bring this mega-mortgage monster to its knees?

This is an ongoing battle I have waged for over two years since my husband had a kidney transplant and has been unable to work due to additional and resultant medical issues. I feel like I spend half my day, every day, trying to explain to HSBC that they have made an accounting error that has made it look as though I have not made a mortgage payment.

HSBC, who manages the credit account, put a hit on my credit reports and refuses to remove them. They say it's a Bowflex problem; Bowflex says they would never do this over their mistake and apologized for HSBC. The hit clearly states HSBC origin, and now I get put on hold forever after giving my account info when trying to get a resolution. I've canceled my Bowflex acct because of HSBC.

To my surprise, when I checked the account on-line, it seemed I only had paid for one month's payment because part of the payment went to interest which I agree; but the biggest portion of my payment went to other charges, so I ended paying just one month's payment. When I asked the person in customer service about those other charges, she did not know what to say. This will be the only time in my life that I will deal with these thieves. They steal your money without you even knowing it.

I feel robbed. I had to sacrifice so many other things so I could collect the money and pay these crooks. I agree that you should pay some penalty for being late, but this is ridiculous. I financed two off road vehicles through HSBC bank. I lost my job and fell behind on my bills. The first one, which is a Yamaha account, was recently sent to Corporate Receivables collection agency. I filed a complaint about Corporate Receivables because of the horrible treatment I received. After I filed that complaint, I called HSBC Recovery dept. and found out that my account was no longer with Corporate Receivables. I was also told, that to bring my Yamaha account current, I needed to pay $391 dollars. So I paid them $400 dollars and about a week later received a statement in the mail showing that I owe them $505 dollars. I called HSBC to see if they received my $400 payment, which they did, but now I owe them another $105 dollars. I thought there was a mistake so I was transferred to a supervisor. I told her that I was told by a gentleman in the Recovery department that to bring my account current I would need to pay $391.

This supervisor lady told me that she doesn't know who told me that, but my account isn't with HSBC anymore--it's with Corporate Receivables now. So obviously HSBC has misled me to think that my account is with them, and all I had to do was pay $391 dollars; and apparently that is not the case anymore. They gave me false information and have been jerking me around this whole time.

My second account with them is my Suzuki account. This one I purchased with a minimum monthly payment of $56. I just recently received a statement showing my new monthly payment from now on is $186. I called them to ask about this one and they said well since you defaulted, the promotion plan changes to a normal plan with a higher finance rate. Well, I can't afford to pay $186 dollars per month. HSBC does not care and keeps on trying to ruin me. This is by far the worst bank ever to work with. I will never work with them again. I need this resolved the fair way.

This is causing me an unbelievable amount of stress. I am getting so angry with these people. This can't be good for my health. Not only that but my credit is going to be damaged significantly if this is not fixed.

She presumed to talk in a negative tone trying to justify charging my account over $50 in late fees. Ramona (employee of HSBC) wasn't willing to accept or express any fault for the negligence of HSBC in changing my physical address. She used demeaning tone and language. Fine, I agreed to a check over the phone. I thought that was all. The payment was taken out of my account and applied to another person's account. I have proof the payment was made from my bank. Less then 24 hours after that payment another withdrawal was requested from my account. This time in my name. It over withdrew the account, and they sent me a letter stating this. Now as far as I could see my payment was made.

I tried contacting many people and got the same department. They told me to send my proof of payment into the research department. I did. They found I did not make the payment even though I had bank proof it was taken out of my account. I had an attorney look at this, and only after 6 months he was able to get my payment back. They refunded the money, and I made the payment back to them. In the meantime I accrued several hundred dollars worth of late fees of which they still want me to pay, not to mention they have reported I was late on my mortgage several times on my credit report making it impossible to refinance with another company. They told me today there is no proof they credited me with the payment ,and I need to send that proof into them as well--all over a payment I made but they lost. To add insult to injury, HSBC mortgage has put forced insurance on our home since I called them to notify them that we had no homeowners insurance. They also kept the check from the forced insurance company because it was so expensive ($2,200 for one year). One more recent problem: We had our loan modified for a few months due to illness that kept me from working during that time. A couple of months later when I called to ask a question, I was told that they could not speak to me because my name was not on the loan. They had removed my name from the loan!

We kept getting notices about our real estate taxes, saying a large payment was due, but that if our taxes were included in our housenote, to ignore the letter. We did, because we were assured that our taxes were now included in our note. We called HSBC to make sure, and they said "Yes, your taxes are included in your note".

Over a year went by, and found out that they had NOT paid our real estate taxes. They said "Oh, sorry. We found out, after you signed the loan, that we couldn't put both the taxes and the inusurance on the mortgage, so we just put the insurance". We had to go pay almost $2,000 cash in overdue taxes!!

A month or so after that, we got a phone call asking us about insurance, saying we had not had any coverage in nearly a year!

They called us weeks ago and said that we missed a payment in December. We have never missed a payment or been late with one. We found the receipt and faxed a copy to them, and was told that it was taken care of. This week I got a call saying the same thing-no payment in December. I purchased a 1998 540I BMW from Kings Auto Show in Brooklyn NY on the corner of Church St and Kings Hwy almost 3 years ago. The vehicle was sold to me for $14,000 at a 9% interest rate. Almost 3 years later I still owe $16,000 on this 1998 BMW.

The lender for this account is HSBC and I have asked reppeatedly for a copy of the original contract, but HSBC refuses to send it to me. HSBC has erroneously reported 7 30-day late payments in the past year which is completely incorrect.

They have also reported 4 90-day late payments over the loan period.

These fraudulant reports negatively impacting my credit tremendously and no one is willing to help me rectify the situation. As I am sending this email, I am speaking to a customer service rep for HSBC who says I have paid my payment in advance and do not owe any payment until April 21. May I just say I have not even paid March yet because it is not due until the 21st every month

My credit has been susbstantially damaged and I have paid an atrocious amount of money towards this loan due to being scammed. My wife is handling this situation for me so please contact her at 904-708-1660 to discuss further. Her name is Katrina Otero

My husband paid this amount over the phone we still have a copy of the check, and it cleared the bank on 6-25-06. He threatened that he was suing me. I explained this was bill was fraudulent, but paid anyways, and he said I was responsible and he needed a payment for $783.00 immediately to stop the proceedings. I refused to pay him, and now he is constantly calling, harassing me.

I received an application, pre-approved form in the mail. It said 0% interest for balance transfers. I took them up on it. I attempted to tranfer the balances of my other cards to this one card. I received my card in the mail with a $300 limit. This was, of course, not going to work.

I called immediately and was told my card was cancelled and the balance transfer requests would not be sent through. This was on the 8th of January, 2007. On January 20th, I received a letter dated Jan 12th, postmarked Jan 17th stating they had made a $150 payment to one of the cards I had requested balance transfers on.

I called and spoke to several people who claimed they were managers, but could not reverse this action. They claimed I had requested it and although it was not transfered till the 16th of Jan, that was my issue not theirs. There were employees laughing in the background as I attempted to explain I cancelled the card, never activated it, never used it and then 8 days later they transfered money from a closed account. Again they stated it was my issue and they could not help me.

Six weeks after complaining to both HSBC Card Services and the Better Business Bureau, I am still receiving multiple telephone calls a day (including Sundays) on my cellular phone concerning collections for someone other than me. I am not even a HSBC customer! Four weeks ago I received a letter from their office of the President assuring that all calls would cease. The BBB also contacted me asking if the problem was resolved to my satisfaction. I requested that the case remain open for 30 days to assure that the problem was fixed. The BBB felt that HSBC had remedied the problem and closed the case (with my disapproval).

Each call that is received on my cellular phone is charged to my personal cellular bill. I am receiving approximately 4-6 calls per day from HSBC.

I requested that my account be closed and that I continue to pay off my account at the current rate and I was told that I would still have the higher interest rate applied to my accounteven though it was closed. I believe the reason for this increase is because I just took out an auto loan, also i was charged an over limit fee because of a fee membership fee that I was billed twice for this year. I do not feel that I should be penalized especially when my bills are all paid on time and I havent had a late payment on any of my accounts Something has to be done about thes credit card ompanies

I notice that I keep getting charged annual fees more than once in a year for the amount of 39.00. I have been charged an annual fee twice within a six month period by this bank. They charged me an annual fee in January of 2006 and then charged me another one last month in July. This is crazy. I asked them why and their response was that they charged me an annual fee on my anniversary month and they always charges an annual fee to everyone's account in July.

I scheduled a payment to be withdrawn from my checking account through their on-line web based payment system. When they submitted the request for payment they mistakenly added three zeros in front of my account number and my bank rejected it. They still to this day will not admit wrong doing and charged me $113 in fees for going over my limit, returned check fee, and late payment.

Everyone from the customer service dept. to the supervisors insisted that it was not their fault and seemed to not care if the issue got resolved or not. Absolutley the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I paid the card in full and closed the account.

In August 05 I made an online payment to my GM credit card (operated by HSBC). The other credit card company's I deal with, show on the payment screen which account or bank that the payment is coming from. Without seeing this I made a payment from a checking account that I had closed. I got an e mail that the payment did not post. So I called the 800 number to make a payment so I would not be hit with a late fee. The phone payment was $15. The bounced payment fee was $35. So I am out $50 because of their poor web site design.

I did, at the time, try to call and e mail them to tell my side of the story but to no avail. In one e mail I sent to them I got the replay “Per your Cardholder Agreement, it is known that you must make monthly payments to your account as long as you have a balance due” - like I didn't know this. I have cancelled the credit card and will stay away from GM products. (Naturally I do not know if they have fixed the web site since August.) I am always amazed when corporations will spend millions on advertising and yet lose customers over small things like this.

I opened an HSBC online savings account with the understanding that interestwould be paid, as per their written terms and conditions, at the end of each month. Not so as my account did not show any accured interest had been earned. I called the bank and they flatly contradicted their own written policy as interest is paid on something called a 'monthly cycle' In other words its paid on the day of the month following the month you opened the account and on each of those days thereafter. So if you opened your account on May 6 you will get interest not on May 31 but on June 6 and so on.

Answered ad for a Household Bank Platinum Mastercard for 0% introductory APR fixed rate for first 12 months for purchases and balance transfers. Intro letter states "upon approval, we will send Balance Transfer Checks in your Welcome Kit so you can make your transfers easily. When you use these Checks there's no transaction fee".

Within a week I received a package with checks, thanking me for requesting these HouseHold Bank Credit Card Checks. This was the only package or correspondence I received from the bank.

I made out two balance transfers and sent them off. The next correspondence I received was a bill indicating the transfers were not at 0% but at 29.51%. I immediately call customer service. They justified the rate saying, "Oh, you must have used the WRONG CHECKS, those checks are credit card checks not balance transfer checks, so it's like cash".

I now have to pay off a debt that was 9.9% before the transfer, but is now at 29.51%. And to top it off, because of the high interest rate combined with the second bal txr check I sent, my request was not honered by HouseHold Bank because it would have put me over my CREDIT LIMIT. Thus, that check ended up bouncing causing late fees and raise of APR on my card.

A few years later they contacted me by mail and said that I owed them $31.80 for online banking. I have never had online banking, mostly because at that time I did not have internet access. HSBC placed my record into the Check Systems, and I had my company's bank account closed with Commerce Bank, and I haven't been able to open a bank account since.

I have been contacting them in person and over the phone to correct the mistake. I asked them to give me, in writing, the amount I owed them and for what reason. They did not want to give me any documented proof that I owed them or the reason.

Imade my original purchase at a local Best Buy Store for a digital camera. The salesperson suggested that if I apply for their credit card and get approved, that they would give me 18 months, No Interest to pay it off. What a great deal!!! That would make my new camera $20 a month. Since that day, 10/22/05, I have never received a statement or a credit card. The first month, they called and said that they had not received my payment and that they were going to report me to the credit bureau and ruin my credit if I didn't pay right now over the phone.

I have no problem paying, it was only a $11 minimum payment, so I told them that I could give them a check by phone. They wanted to charge a $15 fee for that service, I explained since they never sent me a credit or a statement, that I should not have to pay a fee for this. They would not waive the fee, so I told them to resend my card and statement, and that I would mail a check the same day that it arrives.

Another month goes by, and still nothing, and another threatening phone call from them again. This time, they have added $58 in late fees to my account??? And want me to pay all of this now, or ELSE!!! This is now the 4th month and each time, I receive the same threatening phone call. I have had perfect credit for 8 years now, and I am only just turning 26, so I have had perfect credit my whole life. I make car payments, rent payments, etc. without any problems, obviously $11 is no going to put a hurt on me, I can get that money from my next door neighbor if I needed to.

Myself, I can't read or write in the english language, so myself I could not understand the statements they sent to me every month. When my November statement arrived I realized the amount was going up instead of going down.

So I went to my neighbor and she told me that they put the finance charges for the whole 12 months. I tried to resolve with them the situation but it there was no luck. That is why I'm asking the consumer affair to investigate this type of misleading because this is unfair to the people.
