I received a letter in my mailbox that was addressed to the past management office in this building, but with my apartment number on it. I’ve called them three times and while I’m letting them know they have the wrong address on file they HANG UP ON ME. Three different representatives have done this! Finally, the last caller I spoke with says, “Okay, we have removed this address on file” and before I could even say “thanks” or anything they HANG UP ON ME! This is not the behavior anyone should be receiving from any company. I feel sorry for anyone who actually has their name on a letter and needs to deal with these people.

My experience with Convergent is one that is now leading me to litigate them and hopefully put their shady and illegal practices out of business. I hope others will join in. I had a T-Mobile account opened fraudulently, by means of identity theft, in my name. I originally took this up with T-Mobile in which they removed my collection status and apologized. Well somehow junk debt buyer Convergent ended up purchasing this bad debt.
I successfully had the debt removed from my credit reports showing that it was a bad debt. About a year later it showed up on my credit report again with the collection company as Convergent. Being nice, even though I recognized the illegal practice of a new date of the debt, I gave a chance and had this debt removed again in September 2017. Now I apply for a loan with my husband and I find Convergent with this same T-Mobile account and a new date added as the debt date December 2018.
Convergent partakes in violation of FCRA and FDCPA. These violations of law allow a victim to sue for all legal fees and damages. Please, if you are having any issues with Convergent, contact a lawyer and not Convergent. Together we can litigate them into doing the law abiding practice they are supposed to do, or litigate them into bankruptcy and spare others the hardships in the future. A google search for consumer protection lawyers will bring up lawyers who deal with this stuff and most do free consultation and even offer to represent without cost until it is over knowing they will collect from companies like Convergent.

I canceled my Dish service because they could not uphold service during bad weather and I got tired of paying for numerous channels I never looked at in the bundle package. Even though I canceled, I knew I was responsible for paying the due balance, WHICH I DID. Regardless of me paying on my bill until I paid it off, the no-good, nasty people who work for Convergent outsourcing sent a collections to the credit company showing a due balance of $30. Mind you, I was paying on my Dish bill EVERY WEEK! I am extremely angry with this company.
The only thing they want to do is ruin your credit. I never saw such nasty hearted people send your info to collections regardless of seeing you pay your bill. I'm sure karma will come right back to the person who works there that sent my information to collections, which I already disputed the charge because my balance is already paid off IN FULL! They wait until you are almost done paying then send your info to collections to hurt your credit.
I hope whoever sent my info to collections is very happy with what they done because believe me, it's NOT going to stop me from getting it removed and my credit score returning to where it should be. You're all a bunch of shady crooks who don't care about customers but about money. With so much happening in the world, wait for the Lord to come through your place of business and destroy everything there for being so damn nasty!

I recently received a piece of mail, I almost threw out because it looked like junk mail, it wasn't. It was from Convergent. It stated that I owe Samsung $300??? Yes I bought a Samsung phone from the company, but I do not owe them anything. I have never heard one thing from them. Plus, Samsung had my charge information, if I owe them why don't they just charge me??? (Samsung that is.) I am the store manager at a wireless phone store as well. The back of the notice said "If we do not receive a written dispute of this charge within 30 days, we will assume that this charge is valid." ASSUME? ASSUME??? How about some proof first.
Also, I have records of Convergent calling me on Feb 14th, Feb 15th, & Feb 19th. I had no idea why they were calling me, but I picked up the phone each time and was hung up on immediately. Each of the calls lasted 4 seconds. Why would they hang up on me? I did not hang up on them? I think it is because they know that this is not a valid debt. REALLY???

I received a call from Convergent that they are trying to collect a bill for T-mobile on an account I closed and was told was paid in full 3 years earlier. Never received a bill or a letter of collection in those 3 years. Convergent can't show me a bill where the balance is stated. T-mobile acknowledges the balance but also can't show any balance info either. I am concerned this is a scam and if I pay they will try it again later.

I was checking my credit score today and found that I have a negative mark. The mark is from a a GNG (Georgia Natural gas) bill. They say I owe them $643.00 from May 2015 but I never had a Georgia Natural Gas bill from that year. I was gonna call this Convergent Outsourcing Inc. Company but after reading all the other reviews I'm a little scared to. I don't want or need this negative mark on my report but I'm a little wary about contacting this people and giving them my money. Does anyone know how I can find out if they are legit or if this is a bogus account that was created to just scam me out of $643.00. Thank you.

I have a bill that I owe to Dick's Sporting Goods. It is now in collection with Calvary. Convergent is claiming they are trying to collect for Calvary and is only making me pay 60% of what I owe Calvary. They are acting very sketchy when I call them. They have put me on hold and not got back to me. Transferred me and not tell me why they keep transferring me. Something is not right about this company. I don't recommend giving them your money. It does not seem to be a company, on the up and up. I think they will take your money and keep it and not pay off your debt.

The stupid woman at this grimy company called me 5 times in one day. When I finally called back, she was rude over the phone. Obviously has never been in a real customer service role before because she was speaking over me. If I receive one more call, I will be suing the pants off this company as I requested to do everything via mail and no longer over the phone. Let’s see if they’re smarter than they look and sound. Woman sounded ** and unprofessional too. What the hell is wrong with this company?

Never had someone hang up while trying to give them money. This place is a complete scam, make sure you get a receipt and keep it otherwise they'll keep going after you until you make it an issue. Unfair and Unethical practices are used and it's just not needed. Long story short if I ever have something go into collection and it makes its way to Convergent I'm just not gonna pay it on the basis that I know payment won't be acknowledged.

I got an email from this company, informing me that I owed Sprint +$1000. But I have never bought any service from Sprint or had business with Sprint. This company didn't provide any evidence to show how the debt originated. I think this is a fraudulent letter and fraudulent company as well.

After reading so many reviews here, I'm surprised how similar everyone's stories are. This company is operating an illegal business. They're playing a mind game to scare honest people and steal money from them. I got a mail from Convergent in August 2018 saying that I owe $847 to T-mobile, but my name was spelled wrong in the letter. I NEVER have a T-mobile account and NEVER received any bill from T-mobile. Called T-mobile and was told it must be identity theft - someone used my name (but spelled it wrong) and SSN to open an account. T-mobile sent a fraud report to Convergent and told me Convergent would contact me directly.
Waited for a month, never heard from Convergent. So I called and was told I have two options: 1. Go to local police, file a police report to prove the identity theft. 2. Settle the debt at a lower price - $423.5 (!!!). I got so upset with their ridiculous offer and told the woman there is no way I would pay the money I never owed. They better clear my account right now. She got nervous and transferred the call to her supervisor. The supervisor said she will clear my balance to 0, and I should still file a police report. I thought the thing was over. A month later I got another mail from Convergent with $827 balance due and a T-mobile fraud packet. It stated I should fill in the fraud packet form and attach a police report. Wow. What a persistent scam. I also collected all their letters and the phone call recording in case of a future lawsuit.

I received a letter from Convergent Outsourcing stating I owe PayPal a debt of $145.39. Have asked PayPal to contact Convergent directly to resolve misunderstanding. Guess we'll see who they should be sending debt collection mail to... if anyone.

They kept calling my house phone asking to speak with my husband. I had never heard of them before and she would not tell me what it was regarding, only that he owed money to a company. I take care of the finances so I know he doesn't owe to any random companies. After the third time of them calling, I told them they are a scam and I know it and if they don't stop calling, I will report them. I never got another call. But I was just checking MY credit score and they are claiming I am in collections for $143 dollars. This is b.s. I have never received a letter of collections from them or anyone else for that matter. I'm hoping I can get to the bottom of this and get it off of my credit score. Someone needs to shut this company down now!

I am the accounts/finance manager for a privately owned furniture company and received a call from a past customer stating she received a collections letter from Convergent on our behalf. I immediately told her this is a scam, we have never used a 3rd party collections and she owes no money to us. I feel this is a direct result from the Equifax breach since this is the credit bureau we report our accounts to. There must be some law against this, Convergent Outsourcing is messing with peoples credit and trying to scare them into paying money not owed and certainly misrepresenting their information. Please always call the originating company they claim you owe money to!!

I had a small debt that was straightened out with the original company (Cox Communications) before I moved 2 + years ago - May 2016. They had originally placed a negative mark on my credit since there had been a delay in communicating with them, and that negative mark was removed in 2016. I had returned equipment to them which they had erroneously charged me for, and I had not received the bill with the erroneous charge, so it was about 5 months later when this came to light. That was all straightened out in 2016, negative credit report removed, everything clear.
Then, suddenly, in January 2018 a negative mark appeared on my credit that I owed the same amount I had paid 2 years prior, supposedly sent to collection agency Convergent. They posted it to my credit as if it was a new debt gone to collection in Jan 2018. I was in the middle of trying to refinance my property and this totally screwed up my credit. I was never called, never contacted in writing, NOTHING. And it is erroneous. It should be illegal to screw with people this way. Lives can be ruined. It's criminal behavior as far as I am concerned. And the amount that they claim I owe is so small. But I don't owe it, not then not now. But the problems this has caused!!! CRIMINAL.

Convergent Outsourcing is coming after me for a Dish Network account from 4 years ago. They claim there was a 2-year agreement. I was never told about a 2-year agreement and NEVER signed a contract. I have had Dish Network come after me and other agencies over the last 4 years (not sure who, but I think it has always been Convergent. I had no idea it would go this far so I didn't keep records until this year). Every time I received a call or letter letting me know I needed to dispute this claim I responded the same way. I told them I would be more than happy to pay the full amount of the debt if they could provide proof, whether it was a voice recording of me agreeing to the terms on a phone call or a signed contract. Every time I did this within the 30-day window I was left alone for a few months... until now.
The first letter I received from Convergent this year was on 1/31/2018. The letter said their client would accept $214, 50% of what the original debt was ($428). I gave them the same response I always have, and they dropped it for a few more months, almost like they are waiting for me to give up... but they don't know me. I don't give up when I have been wronged. I was recently contacted again (unfortunately I sent the original copy back with my response, and didn't make a copy), but this time they went WAY too far, and really screwed it up. They actually sent me back a FALSIFIED contract from Dish Network. See, my name is Kenneth **, but somebody screwed up and listed my name as Kenneth ** (with a P!).
The falsified contracts has all of the places signed or initialled as K P (oops!). Multiple things wrong with this. I always sign my FULL name including my middle initial when something asks for a signature and when asked to initial I ALWAYS use all of my initials **., not to mention the fact that the initials they put on the fake contract are KP and NOT **. I know this is an illegal action, so if anyone wants to help and let me know where I should go from here, it would be greatly appreciated. I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General tomorrow, but after reading these reviews I feel like they need to be hurt much worse than a slap on the wrist. Please help if you can. Thank You!

I received a collection notice from Convergent Outsourcing stating I had an outstanding balance with Original Creditor: Chase Bank USA N.A. The Current Owner: Midland Funding LLC. I have previously been sued by Midland Funding LLC for this debt. The process server never actually served me directly, but left the papers on my mother's doorstep when she said I did not live at her residence, which was true, I lived elsewhere at the time. When I followed up in court, I found that the person who served the papers falsified my mother's name while filing his proof of service. My mother never gave him her name. The proof of service said he served them to "Lisa". These was their first mistake... I still had to go through a lengthy court process with them, about 12 months with several appearances to the Courthouse and filing numerous documents with the Clerk.
The case finally dismissed without prejudice when I requested proof of the debt with Chase Bank USA N.A. I asked for the "Instrument of creation", which is the original application/contract that had my name and signature. They could not provide any such document. I also requested proof of sale of said debt by Chase Bank USA N.A. and purchase/ownership by Midland Funding LLC. They provided a heavily redacted document listing about 8 different accounts they claimed to have purchased at the same time. The document was almost completely blacked out and only showed a date and my name. No account information whatsoever. The lawyer representing Midland Funding LLC was so embarrassed she stood before the Judge and requested the case be dismissed. While leaving the Courtroom she also told me I should head to Vegas because I'll never be that lucky again.
I did a lot of research and made a lot of appearances in order to fight that case and I still have all the documentation from it. I have searched for cases like mine on several free legal help websites and found too many where the defendant's wages were garnished because they ignored the suit, was never served or just plain forgot. If you don't owe the debt, make the collection agency prove you wrong in court. It's exhausting but it can be done. You can request fee waivers to keep your costs down. If the Court rules in your favor, the Plaintiff must pay all costs.
The collection notices keep coming but all of them say, "Unless you notify this office in writing within 30 days after receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of this debt or any portion thereof, this office will assume the debt is valid. If you notify this office in writing within 30 days from receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of this debt or any portion thereof, this office will 10 verification of the debt or obtain a copy of a judgment and mail you a copy of such judgment or verification. If you request this office in writing within 30 days after receiving this notice, this office will provide you with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor."
"The law limits how long you can be sued on a debt. Because of the age of your debt, we will not sue you for it, and we will not report it to any credit reporting agency". (TYPICALLY PRINTED ON THE BACKSIDE) I guess my fight is still on until I dispute in writing. Seems pointless as I've already gone to court over it. They were never able to prove I owed them anything.

Found out about Convergent because they hit our credit report saying we owed $1500+ to someone. Googled their number and called them. They could give us no information on why or who we owed because we wouldn't supply them with our social security number or DOB. We asked them to tell us what they had on file so we could verify, but they wouldn't - so, dead end there. They also never sent us anything by mail, email or phone before we discovered it on our credit report. I'm not sure that they had any other information other than a name, but I can't verify that. We then called our credit monitoring service and told them what was happening. They could tell us that Sprint send us to collections for $1500+. We have never had a Sprint account, never! Our credit company checked into it and solved the problem. Bottom line, this company takes on collection jobs with no proof or verification that it is real!

I got a notice of new activity on my credit report and found this company has reported that I owe $1660 to Sprint and that the date is from 2017. I have not had a Sprint account since 2009 or 2010 and have never received a bill or notice from this collection agency. I disputed the incorrect collection with the CRAs and Convergent just keeps claiming I owe the money. They even changed the date of the supposed account.
Next step is to dispute with Convergent and sue them if they won't remove this bogus account from my credit reports. There is no way I owe this money. Clearly Convergent didn't bother to verify the validity of the debt before dinging my credit. Considering the number of complaints for the same type of behavior from this company, they need to lose their license.

I have been on the phone all day being bounced from them to 7 different phone numbers all who send the blame to each other. I requested a bill after calling Better Business Bureau and State Corporation Commission per their advice. If this doesn't work I am consulting a Consumer Affairs attorney. Received an email with an eNotice, didn't want to put my info in online so I called to see what's up. (previously paid them because of a debt I had) Found out it's my receipt saying I paid... Cool beans easy enough. However the first lady I spoke to was a total jerk. She had trouble hearing my SSN correctly and I re stated it four times. She then placed me on hold and transferred me! I'd be okay with that but she was just so rude. I already paid my debt. Just wanted to know what the email was. Not hard... Not trying to get out of paying something I was at fault for...
I wasn't even being rude. Just asking why I got an email and said I didn't want to put my info in online and she just started getting "oh I don't know. I can't know. it's your email you would have to open it. I don't even know you." so I asked her to look me up and she couldn't even do that properly. She transferred me and the next lady did it no problem and explained what the email was exactly. They need better customer service people. I worked in fraud prevention for years. I understand calling people who think you're fake, I understand people yelling at you for something that isn't your fault. I get those jobs are stressful but if you can't even handle a call about an email, get out of that line of work.
