Store # 204 located at 4731 Onondaga Blvd, Syracuse NY. I was traveling on the NYS Thruway and obtained a completely flat tire, to which I transferred the small donut. Having to travel a good number of miles to complete my trip, I researched a tire store that could help me. I spoke on the telephone with the store manager, **. He assured me that if I could drop off my truck for just a short amount of time, he would repair the flat.
I went to a local restaurant in the meantime and within a very short time, ** called me and said the truck was ready. He even properly put the donut tire in the spare compartment where it belonged. I consider this to be outstanding customer service, helping an out-of-town stranger with a flat tire in a very short amount of time. ** was gracious and polite and I highly recommend that management recognize him for being an outstanding ambassador for Monro. Many many thanks and appreciation for treating me like the most important customer of the day! Patrick **, Fairport NY

SCAM!!! Do NOT go here unless you want them to steal your money. I purchased 2 tires here for $1600, yes $800+ per tire. I’m not disputing the cost even though it’s outrageous. No, the tires were not gold plated, just massive markup. They were only able to install one tire. They were not able to get the other tire off due to a wheel lock, which they stripped the key trying to take off incorrectly. I then went to purchase another wheel key on my own dime, again they stripped that too and still were not able to take the 2nd tire off. At that point, I just said, "Refund me for the 2nd tire" as I had already spent over 1 month and 4 trips to their location. Manager (Jesse) said he had to submit it to corporate and would take 2 weeks (funny how the charge only took 5 seconds).
So I’ve been dealing with corporate (Monro Auto Service) for over 2 months to get my $800+ refund. I’ve called them 4x, each time they acknowledge the refund due, but state they need a manager approval and would get back to me. Same story each time. So no refund and lots of wasted time. I’ve filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as their charge and refund practices are illegal and super slim shady. FYI, don’t pay for all tires up front, only pay for what they install that day. So if you want to play Russian roulette with your hard-earned cash, take your chances. Otherwise, find another tire place that isn’t shifty and dishonest.

My father went to have his rear brakes serviced Lockport NY, and Christopher ** alarmed my 81-year-old dad by claiming that his rotors were rusted—not only the rear ones but all of them. It also turned out that the front brakes needed replacement. My dad, who is on a fixed income, had already signed the order, driven by fear for his safety while driving his truck. They charged him $1,538.96, which was not surprising. I requested that the old rotors be placed in the back of my dad's truck so I could have them inspected by his dealership in Medina, as they had previously informed him that only the rear brakes were necessary.
Rotors are prone to rust; this was an unethical sales tactic, and I can assure you that despite the warranties they attempt to sell, this location is desperate and solely driven by profit. I am going to send this bill to Monroe Directly with 3 quotes from PEP BOYS, HARTWAY MOTORS and MAVIS, basically saying the same thing. My old man was ripped off and lied to. I sure hope Chris gets those sales he's looking for. I am going corporate and keeping the rotors that I asked them to put BACK in his truck.

Run! Avoid! Long story short, defective front brakes put on. A couple weeks later loud noise coming from back brakes. I was told that dirt and dust had to be blown out, back brakes were fine. Pulling out of the parking lot, there was, a horrible noise coming from back brakes. Driving in heavy traffic, my tire flew off striking a car causing damage. Lug nuts were not put on. Mechanic admitted it was his fault and that he would lose his job. He did not. Defective back brakes put on. Monro admitted liability. Took vehicle to a dealership, they had to replace brakes all around vehicle and Monro paid the bill ($2672) because of their shoddy work. Dealership said my vehicle was dangerous to drive. I could not get a refund from Monro for the work that they did or didn't do but charged me for it.

Monro Muffler, 3145 West Liberty Ave. Shop 565, Pittsburgh, PA 15216. On August 13th, I visited Monro for my annual inspection and emissions. I got a phone call from an employee from Monro. They said I needed rear brakes and rotors needed replaced. I said to do it. On the invoice replacing the brake pads cost a total of $199, including labor. Brake rotors cost $350, including labor. All in; 549.99. At the beginning of September when driving to get groceries I noticed a very loud clicking sound coming from the rear of my Jeep. I decided not to take my Jeep back to Monro, I called a local car repair shop near my home and had my Jeep at his shop later that week.
After inspecting things, here’s what he found: The right rear lower caliper bracket bolt was missing. The other bolt was loose. Monro installed all of my old hardware. I was missing two shims on the left rear side. There was plenty on lube on the bolts. No locktite was used. The rear driver side bolts were loose. The left rear upper guide pin was dry and no lube was used. All of the pad shims were not aligned to the pads. Overall, the cost was $251.
On Saturday September 14th I decided to pay a visit Monro on West Liberty Ave, Pittsburgh, Pa. I met Manager: Ray. I asked him explain to me what work was done to my Jeep in August. He stated rear brakes and rotors were replaced, and the Jeep was inspected and emissions test was done. I showed Ray the invoice from the other shop. I then pulled out the old pads that showed the misalignment of the shims. I then asked Ray how can we make this “right”. Ray’s comeback was “if I wouldn’t have waited a month before coming back in”. I let Ray know that I work from home and I rarely drive nowadays. No apology, no responsibility taken; not even a “I’m sorry for your inconvenience." Quite sad…. He said he filed a complaint with corporate. I will be calling them next week. Beware of this place!
Total cost of rear brakes and rotors was 549. After hearing a horrible clicking sound a few weeks later, here’s what my local mechanic found: The right rear lower caliper bracket bolt was missing. I had a terrible experience at the Monro, Inc. in Burnham, PA. I paid nearly $1,200 for new tires and an alignment, but later discovered the alignment was never done. My car was placed in a bay that can't even perform alignments, and I was charged for TPMS valve stems that were never replaced. The manager responsible was fired for defrauding customers for years, but Monro has refused to refund me. Because of their negligence, my new tires are now damaged, voiding the manufacturer’s warranty. Monro’s only offer was to redo the service or refund me if I paid another shop upfront—both unacceptable given their history. This company engages in dishonest practices, and I strongly advise against using their services.

Scammers, previously had brought my spare car here with no issues... only put 3000 miles a year on it. It has newer parts all the way around including brakes and tires. Inspection was half assed as they only took off the left side tires then dropped the car back down. Was refused inspection without purchasing their trico pro wiper blades even though I just put TRICO platinums on 3 months prior that have no issues with them whatsoever. DO NOT recommend going to this shop. It’s known that auto shops don’t make money on NYS inspections that’s why they upsell products and today this proved it. Been in the automotive business for 20 years and currently work for the DOT, never been so frustrated with an annual inspection and will not be returning. (West Seneca, NY)

I took my 2015 RAV4 in for a tune up last year. The cost was $800 or so. The tune up wasn't done. The parts that were to be changed out were the original parts put on by Toyota. The spark plugs are all rusted, the air filter wasn't changed out. I doubt the oil change was even done. I wouldn't trust them for anything. This was at the Saint Clairsville OH business.

For a muffler shop, I was surprised they didn't stock any mufflers, pipes or clamps; ordering everything "as needed" from an auto parts store and have it delivered. The price I was charged for the muffler was nearly three times the retail cost of it from a local auto parts store, that's a unrealistic markup. Although there was an auto parts store within walking distance, I needed to wait almost 40 minutes for them to have a single muffler clamp delivered from the auto parts store they dealt with just to complete the job. I could have walked there, purchased the clamp myself and had the job finished earlier. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and apologized for the time it took. And a two thumbs up for the workmanship of the welder, he didn't rush it and did a great job.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent service I received from Mr. Tire INC. I am very embarrassed to involve you in this matter because I’m sure you have much more greater things to do. I tried to resolve the issue with your store manager ** but it wasn’t resolved. That’s why I’m reaching out to you. I visited your store twice in last 3 months months for a brake pads and rotor change job. I visited your store at 1800 Vestal Pkwy East, Vestal, NY 13850. I spoke with your store manager ** and he recommended me that I take advantage of the lifetime warranty on sets of front brake pads and rotor. He also advised that, I would hold on to the rear brakes because they’re still in good shape. I paid almost $1200 for the front and rear brake pads and rotors. And I was extremely disappointed with the outcome.
I requested that your staff install the new rotors and brake pads on my vehicle, which I expected to be high-quality and reliable. However, upon inspection after the service was completed, I was shocked to discover that my car had been fitted with old in-house rotors and brake pads. This is unacceptable, as I specifically requested premium parts for my vehicle. I have always trusted Mr. Tire INC to provide quality service, but I feel that I have been let down on this occasion. Furthermore, I noticed a decrease in performance of my vehicle’s braking system after the service was performed.
I took it back to Mr. Tire and spoke with ** the store manager. I have informed him about the performance of my vehicle and asked him to change the rear rotors and brake pads. He told me that everything is good and now it fine. After the second job, my vehicle’s performance got worse. This is particularly concerning, as it puts my safety and the safety of other road users at risk. I took my vehicle to the dealership and they checked my rotors and brakes pads. I was shocked to hear that Mr. Tire put old in-house parts on my vehicle.

If I could give zero stars I would. After bringing in my newly purchased vehicle for oil and transmission and brake work on a early morning Friday in the summer, told it would be complete by early afternoon. Numerous calls was told by 6:00 pm it would be ready, I then waited another 40 minutes left the lot got down the road to a chugging car making noise (not how the vehicle went in) pulled over pulled the dip stick to find the oil level way over the fill amount. Tried calling the Monro store #35 which was closed, the store manager claims to have called us back that evening, no message left so that could not be verified.
We were due to be in Virginia for our son to take care of something for his deployment, and then onto Florida, we instead were back at Monro at 7:15 am before the store opened at 7:30 am with the extra 2 QUARTS OF OIL we had to siphon out that was put in the car, instead of doing the job, all that was done was a new filter and 2 extra quarts of oil on top of the old oil. If we had taken our necessary trip we would have foamed the engine and our newly purchased vehicle destroyed.
After meeting with Brett the store manager who confirmed that this was the case, told us that he would have to fire the individual because the claim the oil was changed which it was not, at which time we asked the tech to not be fired instead use as a teaching moment. Brett promised that we would receive a FULL refund of the WHOLE JOB to the amount of over $700, 2-hours later on Saturday we finally had our vehicle back, because of fraudulent work done, a 7 hour delay to our trip, we missed being where we were needed.
Brett told us we would see the full amount credited within 3-days, he was dishonest however going back on his word (lesson learned always get it in writing), when a call was placed a week later after no refund, instead we were told that he did not have the authority to give us a credit, so dishonest, and that he could only refund the oil change, this was also NOT credited. After a dispute with our credit card company two calls to corporate and over a month and half later, finally a refund of only the oil change. We will never recommend Monro, however we will warn all we know what a fraud this company is, how dishonest Monro is and at all levels from the management right up to the corporate level who have no care for customer or customer service or the harm they cause.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM. So a few days back Sunday I took my car in Toyota 2007 RAV4 because oil was leaking. The guy in the glasses named ALEX told me the valve cover and oil pan gasket need changing and it would be approximately 600$. I said yes cause I needed the car on the day. Few hours later ALEX called me saying I need a new valve cover because the old one was damaged. He informed me that I can get one myself and take it there or I can get it from them and pay 900$ approximately. So I decided to get one online. I asked if I could drive the car and he said it's safe to drive. So I ordered the valve cover online for 100$ and some hours later my dad picked my car up and drove to home approx 1 minute ride.
Next day I turned on the car and the sound of the engine was loud. I drove it for approx 2 minutes and my car died. Went walking to the store and told them what happened. They informed me it's the valve cover and I should get AAA myself and they didn't care that I didn't have a car. Thursday 21st of July 2022 I took the valve cover and gasket so they put in on. Later that day I get a phone call by ALEX saying that my car now needs a engine timing and I should take it to another mechanic because they are incapable of doing it. My response was that they have to pay for the fix since they broke the engine in the first place., then asked to talk to the manager and I was told he was informed and didn't care.
Next day and after leaving a bad review I got a call from the manager named JOSH. Long story short he told me that it's the car's fault that the engine is ruined and he can't do anything for a loyal customer. After our conversation and understanding that MONRO ROCKY HILL DOESN'T CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. I had a mechanic check my car. The results was the engine was destroyed and also THE OIL LEAK WAS STILL HAPPENING. I called one last time trying to figure out what was their protocol for cases like mine and they said THEY DON'T HAVE A PROTOCOL IN CASE THEY MESS UP THEIR CUSTOMER'S CAR.

I generally go to Monro to have repairs that I am unable to perform myself. Most times just for Oil Changes (DIY is just as expensive because a quart of oil is not cheap, the time to perform an oil change yourself, easier to go to Monro with a coupon) and the annual NY State Vehicle Safety Inspection. I've been a regular customer for about 12 years going to the same shop. The reason why I go to Monro is I have personally known one of the mechanics for over 25 years. For actual repairs, Monro boosts the price of parts roughly up to 40 percent considering you can obtain the same part at Advanced Auto, AutoZone, or other auto part stores.
Labor cost is reasonable when compared to Dealership costs. However, Monro does find ways to squeeze more cash out of you even when the Manager says they have saved you money. I feel as if for every $100 I spend that somehow Monro adds another $20. The mechanics really don't get paid as much as you think and are expected to multi-task and work hard. Monro Muffler is not the best repair shop but they do get your vehicle fixed with average-quality parts.
The warranty only covers certain parts and never covers labor costs which is the ripoff point. Pay twice what the part originally cost so Monro never loses money when you return in a couple of years providing you still own the same vehicle that they worked on. Since most of us cannot afford to go to a dealership, Monro is not terrible but do not expect to get OEM - originally factory parts installed. If your vehicle is under the Manufacturer's or dealership's warranty, please go to the dealership so your warranty does not become voided. Yeah! We are always paying. Automobiles are the worst investment anyone can make.

I took my car in for a alignment at noon. Waited a hour and half to be told I needed a tye rod end before it was able to be fixed. Mind you a tye rod for my car is 29.99. I decided to let them fix it, although I can do it myself but my vacation is soon and I wanted it done now. They call and tell me my car is done at 4, I pay 250$ and drive off their lot to a horrible tilt of my steering wheel and pull to the right and when I turned corners the car literally jumped. I turned around and took it right back.
The car was in way worse shape than it was, a very slight pull to right when I took it. They worked on it and test drive it twice before it was ok enough for them to say it's done. It's tighter now, no more bounce but still has a pull but now it's to the left. Sooo. Wth. At least they could have offered me a discount for my time considering the part was not that expensive as they charged me for it.
