      I talked to a guy from American First and everything sounded good. He said I had 30 days to decide, ‘cause they run a special. I called back and I didn't get him. But I got somebody else and they told me I only had 20 days to decide and that I would owe more money down. I called and got ahold of the person I talked to, and he was throwing different numbers out. I said, “I had 30 days to decide.” He said, “We need a decision on the 21st.” I said I was just gonna cancel. He gave me a number to call him back. The number that he tried to call me back was his personal number. But it came up with a totally different name than his. It sounded like he was on the road. He said, “Yeah, this is Colin.” It sounded like a scam and for me, not to get that $100 back, even more after that, I'm glad it was just 100 bucks.

      The purchasing process was good, and the policy is covering everything on my car. That's what I was interested in, to make sure that my car is covered because it's expensive. I have an appointment for an oil change and I want them to check out my car. If they find anything, I want them to fix it. In the beginning, I kept on putting the rep off for another day and he wasn't sure what was going on, but afterwards, he explained everything.

      I was intrigued by the good price and no deductible. But suspicious of this too. My salesmen was Barry **. No matter how many times I told him I was not buying the warranty for another few months he kept asking when am I buying it because he did some work like send me the brochure. He told me he would have a service adviser call me from the BMW service dept I would be using. A person who said his name was James from Delray BMW called me. He told me they have worked with this warranty company and have had no problems. Barry ** called me that evening and got angry that I did not buy the contract yet. I disconnected the call. I called Delray BMW the next day. There was no James and the service adviser there said they have not worked with this company. Buyer Beware.

      I don't even know where to start with this. I gave them a good review back in July then I had a problem with the car. They said, "No problem we will pay $200 of it." My mechanic has never seen anything from them so now I have to go pay him the remaining balance. I sold my car about 7 months 8 months after I bought the extended warranty so when I called for my refund they said, "Well we paid a claim for you of 480" and I have to pay a cancellation fee of 250 and then $80 a month for 8 months and they said they only owe me $550. Well I finally just agreed to that to get this over with but I've been waiting now since February 8th. Now they hang up on me. I don't hear from them. They keep telling me the checks in the mail, the checks in the mail. Nothing ever comes. Then they said it came back to them three times and they stop payment on it which doesn't make sense to me now.

      I called today and they just keep hanging up. I've emailed. I'm not hearing back from any of them. When I was sold the policy through Chase ** he was such a sweetheart. Boy was I taking in by him. He better hope it doesn't happen to his mother one day and then of course Colin **/ Billie G /Nathan/ Zack I've talked to each one of them. They're all going to take care of this matter and nobody takes care of anything. I even have one of them say, "Well I'm not going to argue with you. We're not going to argue about this." You know I paid a policy in good faith. They need to pay back or are they a scam company!!

      1. Endurance - read their contract excludes more than they cover.
      2. CarShield - read their contract excludes more than they cover.
      3. AAA - Super expensive
      4. YAA - Didn't cover my car because of mileage

      5. American First - Very comprehensive coverage plus no deductible and rim/tire damage coverage. Price was reasonable. Haven't use them yet however based on the price and what they offer, they are clearly the best option.

      Waste of Money. First lied to by Josh ** sales rep. Stated the Warranty would start in 30 days but if not happy with the Warranty within 30 days then money back. That should have been my first red flag. Steering issue occurred on the vehicle after 30 days but deemed warranty not kicked in, but we will help pay for some of the cost. I thought ok pretty nice company…wrong. Colin ** then lied or hung up the phone when asking where my check was and I was told…It would be in the mail in 7-10 days…"Oh. It mailed out on the 15th…Oh you have to talked to billing, etc.…"

      Nothing. Never received. No phone calls. No return emails. They had no problem withdrawing the $2500 I paid them…same day. But couldn’t pay me the 300 dollars they promised. Liars and Very Poor Customer Service. Run. Don’t walk in the other direction… Then..responded.."oh you can have your money IF you take down the reviews bashing us." No apologies. Nothing. Poor business practices.

      One of the best experiences I’ve had with an extended warranty company. I brought my Range Rover to the dealer for maintenance. The service advisor called me and said that I’ve had a faulty code and I needed to replace my air suspension. I told the advisor I had American First Auto Protect to please call them. They contacted American first auto and they approved the repair the next day. I was extremely happy because they paid literally the whole bill besides my $75.00 dollar deductible. I was comparing American first 6 months ago with all other companies and I’m extremely satisfied that I made the right choice to go with them. God bless you guys.

      As it turns out there were some internal issues with the accounts payable department at American First. Since it was a direct reimbursement situation rather than remitting payment to a vendor it caused some sort of issue internally because I wasn't set up as a vendor and was an individual. They have apologized profusely, paid me extra for my troubles to cover any future oil changes, and have promised that the situation will not happen to me or anyone else again.

      In 36 years I've rarely been scammed, but it happened with American First Auto Protect. At first everything seemed great... I was able to protect my Maserati which is hard to find a warranty for since it has Ferrari parts. It felt great! I had a warranty for less than $3k to cover my Maserati completely for 3 years. Then.... I actually needed to use it and that's when everything changed. As part of the plan I purchased I received $2000 in tire/wheel coverage (up to $500 per wheel/tire). A few weeks after purchasing the vehicle out of nowhere the two rear tires failed. The total for the fix was $730 which is well less than 500+500 coverage. It felt great again. I called American First and they stated send the receipt and they'll send a reimbursement check right away. This was in early December.

      Since this time I have sent countless emails and placed countless phone calls to inquire on the status of the reimbursement. Every time Colin ** states that he's working on it, handling it, or some other bid of confidence statement. However, for over 2 months nothing happened. Once I threatened to write a bad review if it wasn't handled right away by a check sent via Fedex they stated they would send a wire. I provided my information. Days passed and no wire. After inquiring they stated that they didn't believe me that I didn't receive it. I receive wires weekly so I sent a statement from my bank account clearly showing no wire. Of course, they did not honor my request to see a wire confirmation which they obviously do not have because no wire was ever sent. Still today there's been nothing done.

      I've got all the phone records, the original sales phone call recorded, and copies of all the emails. I will be sending this information to the attorney general of New York, Arizona, and the Federal Trade Commission. I warn all of you out there that these folks may seem affordable, seem friendly, and tell you everything you want to hear but when it comes to actually using the coverage you will be failed.

      I had a recent claim with American First Auto Protect. My vehicle broke down at around midnight. I called a roadside assistance company right away. The next day I contacted American first to let them know my vehicle was in the shop. When I called in to let them know they notified me that my claim was approved and paid for which I was very happy of the speed of approval. I did notify them that I had paid for a tow truck. I emailed them the receipt and within 2 days I had a check in my hand from them. This has been the best experience I have had with any extended warranty company.

      I am pleased to say that I will be talking to the attorney general about this business in the next coming weeks because of how they treated me as a customer. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, they are constantly being evasive (especially Zach). This company is built on lies and false reputation. I wouldn't be shocked if all of the real reviews are fake. They have approved two amounts for me and have never paid it. This company is surely going bankrupt with their current operations. Been trying to get in contact with someone for a previous claim and they won't issue a refund or let me talk to a human. Zach if you read this, I hope you know this was by far the worst experience I had with a company. I always had to chase after you and everything was false promises. I will never forget when a service advisor said you slandered me over the phone and I caused too many red flags. Thanks for wasting my time.

      Easier process than I imagined. I brought my vehicle in for maintenance on Friday. The tech at Land Rover of Vegas told me I need to replace my fuel pump. I let him know I had warranty with American First. He contacted American first and they approved the claim and gave my service advisor authorization on the same call. 2 days later I went to pick up my car and it was as good as new.       Do not use this company. They don't appear to be legit. I canceled my warranty within the 30 day period because they have a F rating with the BBB. You only talk to the same people, Colin and Chase which lets you know the company can't be that big. I canceled another ago and still don't have my refund nor can get anyone to answer the phone just as the BBB states on its site. The ratings are only good because Chase is super friendly but if you expect a refund or for them to pay a claim please be ready for disappointment. Save yourself the headache, do research before purchasing and choose a legit company. They only have 50 plus reviews on here compared to other companies who have 100s so don't be swayed with the rating score.

      Really hard to get a hold of. I actually have to call with different phone numbers, to just get Zack, Teddy, or Collin, and to just be on hold. Not a good company. I thought they were good, but when they told me to go ahead and pay. And they will reimburse me. Trust went out the window, when all attempts for a check to be mailed or wired, just never happened. At least a manager? Nobody. Just these 3 guys running a shady business. In New York. Far away.

      I recently spoke to Mitch to get a quote on my 2011 Range Rover. Mitch was very informative and patient with me. He answered all my questions and was not pushy at all.       What a pleasure it is being a customer of American First, my Father recommended this coverage because he has 2 cars with them and said they are great. I purchased the Platinum plan about 7 months ago for my Land Rover Discovery, I just submitted my first claim on my suspension. Teddy was a great help to ensure my car would be out of the shop as soon as possible. Within 2 days I received a call from American First to go pick up my car.       I have 3 different plans with American First for all 3 of my vehicles. I have use the service several times and each experience has been great. After my first two claims I didn’t post my experience because I wanted to see how this company would be after a year or two. Last week I had my third claim for my suspension on my Range Rover and it was fully covered besides my small deductible. This is the only warranty I have found that covers 100 percent of parts and used Range Rover parts. This company is the best out of all extended warranties I have used in the last 15 years. After three months they have never paid out. They have lied continuously and have no integrity with no plans to pay. Just lies, evasion, hang-ups. Does not leave messages. Will not return calls.       American First Auto Protect sold me a Vehicle Service Agreement on 2/11/2021. The Cost I paid for the Service Agreement was $2,197. On 11/14/21, my vehicle broke down on the highway. It was towed to the Cadillac Service department at Stevens Creek Cadillac in San Jose, CA on 11/15/21. The engine needed extensive repairs which are covered under the Service Agreement I purchased from American First Auto Protect.

      I was in constant contact with American First Auto Protect via emails and phone conversations during the initial weeks of the process of having the vehicle assessed and the determination of the repairs needed. The Service manager of the Stevens Creek Cadillac also was in contact with American First Auto Protect. Both the service mgr and I were told by American First Auto Protect personnel (Billy and Chase) on several occasions that an Adjuster from "Lemon Squad" would be at the dealership to review the vehicle.

      Both times no adjuster showed at the dealership. I and the Service department of the dealership complied with the Vehicle Service Agreement. After no reply from First American Auto Protect, (they stopped accepting calls from Me and the Service department and or just hung up the phone) I had no option but to proceed with the repairs. The repairs to my vehicle were completed on 1/13/22, I paid $7,400 for the repairs and also have $450 costs for towing which is also covered in the Service Agreement. I have forwarded a final paid invoice to American First Auto Protect on 1/13/22 with a demand for payment.

      American First Auto Protect originally was accepting responsibility for the repairs but now they have not responded to any calls or emails. They have not denied the claim. I have subsequently read reviews of the company on the website Trustpilot.com. These negative reviews are identical to my experience. This company is clearly perpetrating a Scheme on its victims who sign and pay for a Vehicle Service Agreement.

      Purchased a warranty with this company for my truck. I would later go to use the warranty to cover an issue with my vehicle. It was beyond a hassle to get them to authorize the repair and then to get them to pay the repair shop. I was promised a refund within 24 hours and am still waiting over a week later. Review the negative posts before you purchase with them or you will be as sorry as I am.

      Let me start by saying, I have gone back and forth with this company for several months trying to resolve my claim for timing chain repair. From the moment I purchased my vehicle service contract from Colin ** in August 2021, until today dealing with Billy in claims, I have gotten zero movement on payment for this repair. My claim has been delayed and denied without good reason. I spoke with Billy in claims yesterday who stated if I agreed to have my previous negative reviews removed he would work with me and agreed to pay a portion of my claim. Keep in mind, my entire claim is valid and listed within my contract, so the entire claim should be paid. However, because I have been fighting for so long to get any help, I decided it was in my best interest to take a partial payment and take down my negative reviews.

      Well as you can probably imagine, after I deleted my reviews Billy ignored me and sent me fake payment confirmation numbers. The hard truth is, I was scammed and this company is fraudulent and misleading. If you’re considering do business with them, I strongly suggest you do your homework before paying for your service contract. A simple call to the NY BBB or NY AG office will explain a lot. You don’t have to take my word for it. Good luck to anyone reaching this.

      American First provided me with an extended warranty back in July of this year. I purchase the plan because I just bought a new Mercedes and wanted it protected. Their rates were a lot better than the Dealership with the same coverage. Last week my AC was blowing out cold air so I contacted American first and they advised me to take my car to my Mercedes Benz dealer. American first approved the claim within a couple of hours for my condenser. I called American first to let them know that the dealer had to order the part since it was not in stock and it was coming from Germany. They also provided me a rental car until my vehicle was ready to be picked up. The experience with them was easy and quick.

      I had bought and Audi Q5 2011 and didn't buy service contract from dealer but shopped on my own. Read reviews.. Consumer Affairs etc.. and called a few places. American First sounded legitimate and answered all my questions. It was $3K - with a Veteran discount - for Platinum coverage. Great. Paid. In August.. engine light kept coming on. Took to Audi dealer.. needed new fuel pump and regulator. About $1500 in repairs. Called American First.. connected them with Audi. Audi struggled mightily getting anything from them. Sent repair quote but couldn't get American First to agree. American said they were sending an inspector. Never happened 2 weeks went by and I had rental car. Said they would cover up to $75 a day for rental. Nothing. Audi said I would have to pay and get reimbursed. American First agreed and I did. I never got reimbursed. So I paid them $3K for service contract and then $2K out of pocket - nothing.

      No billing department. No other folks. Always sounds like the same guy. Endless run around. I then cancelled my contract in November. Colin said fine - billing would reach out. Never did. I asked for confirmation of my cancellation request - nothing. I asked for refund - check is in the mail. Nothing. 2 months later - nothing and now no response from them. Clearly a fraudulent business that takes payment and then does not honor service contract purchased. I'm out $3,000. Stay away from this fraudulent business. They will take your money and then just run you around and never take care of your auto. I suspect all the positive reviews on here are fake.

      American First Auto Protect has provided me with exceptional service. My BMW broke down 2 nights ago on the freeway. I contacted American First and they set me up with towing directly to my Dealership. That following morning I got a call from one of their customer service representatives letting me know that they are in contact with the shop and they will call me before the end of the day with approval. A few hours passed and my phone buzzed and American First called me back and let me know that I can go pick up my car the following day and the claim for the suspension was fully covered. The way American First dealt with this is how every company should be. They stayed in contact with me and did what they promised. Cheers guys thank you.

      I wanted to write this review because Of Ashley in claims. This lady was amazing from start to finish from the day my vehicle was in the shop I called right away and got connected with Ashley. I gave her my Maserati advisors name and number and she called him right away. Within an hour she called back and gave me authorization and approved the repair for me. A lot of people never follow up but Ashley is amazing and made sure to call me and let me know that it was paid for. Ashley you and your company are amazing.

      2 nights ago my car broke down in the middle of the highway at about 11 at night. I called American first to see what to do because there were no mechanics open at that time. American first got my vehicle towed to the nearest Land Rover dealer. The next day I received a call from American first advising me that my car will be ready by ends day. It was a small repair that needed to be done on the battery. Hands down the fastest service I have received in my life with extended warranty.

      I purchased a car at the end of August 2021 and purchased the extended warranty from this company based on positive reviews seen at Consumer Affairs. These positive reviews must have been false or purchased. I bought the top of the line warranty package. The car developed an issue at the end of October and was taken to a service center the first week of November. It sat for six weeks waiting on American First to do anything. I finally requested a refund, collected the car and have disputed the fees for their service through Visa. It is mid-December and nothing so far. Consumer Affairs definitely didn't do their homework on this one, or worse, let the company provide positive reviews. Think about it. They could have provided excellent service to 10 people, and nothing for hundreds more. Lesson learned: don't rely on one review service and drill down into the reviews.

      I am so happy I chose this company over the others I been comparing. Teddy and Jennifer are truly amazing people. My recent claim was taken care of in a timely fashion. I was updated right away when I brought my vehicle for service. The technician found that my fuel injector needed to be replaced. I contacted American first immediately and Jennifer called the shop and paid the claim for me. Jennifer was patient with me, answered all my questions and let me know that she was in good hands. I was a little wary of extended warranty because of the last company I had a policy with. But American First stands by their word and did an amazing job. Hopefully I never have to use it again but if I do I know they have my back.

      I purchased this platinum protection from American First Auto Protect in January 2021 for my Nissan Titan XD. I received no printed contract or anything in the mail after purchase. OK, maybe that's how they save money, fine. (RED FLAG I missed.) So I had to have my truck towed to the dealer (July), I emailed them about this and after a few emails ** said they would cover the towing, then ** said only one hundred dollars.

      I have still not seen that money. So the dealer completed the repairs, and after a few more email and phone calls, they agreed to cover the ECU for $690 (Sept) so I thought everything was good to go. The dealer calls me and said they haven't been paid. So more emails and phone calls. They said they sent them a check. (NOT) last week (DEC) after many heated phone calls they a bogus card number to the dealer. The dealer still wants their money, so it looks like I am out the $1900+ and the $690 I will have to pay the dealer. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.

      Hands down the best claim experience I have had. I was driving down to visit the grandkids for the weekend and while driving an engine light popped up, I immediately took it the my local Porsche dealership who contacted American First. Within a couple of hours the vehicle was diagnosed for a turbo charger and fixed over the weekend, ready to get back on the road Wednesday. Thank you for the fast and quick service!

      Hands down the best warranty company I’ve worked with. Easy process all around. My car was in the shop for the fuel injector. My Land Rover dealership filed the claim and that same day American first contacted me and let me know the the repair was covered. Unfortunately I couldn’t pick up my car because the Delaership did not have the parts in stock. American first provided me a rental until the repair was finished. 3 days later I picked up my car and it is driving good as new. The customer service was exceptional everything that was needed for the claim and rental car was taken care of immediately. This company does it right.

      The company charged my credit card after I had said to NOT do that. ** sent an email quote. I called about it but got ** who said ** was off on Saturday. Shortly thereafter, ** called back claiming to be ** and offered me a "special" deal of a $400 reduced price to sign up on Saturday because the company "wasn't very busy on Saturdays." I agreed and gave him my Discover card info (big mistake).

      Shortly thereafter, I read the negative reviews at Consumer Affairs and sent ** an email to cancel. I specifically said that I had reconsidered, and I did not want the service and to cancel any pending charges. ** replied saying the card had never been charged and wanted to know why I cancelled so quickly. I did not reply. But I had a weird feeling about the whole situation and called Discover to freeze my account. Two days later, I got an email from Discover saying they had blocked the charge of $2000 on my frozen account. This may be illegal as this was an unauthorized attempt to charge my card after acknowledgment of cancellation and instructions to NOT charge the card. I've file a complaint with the Office of the State of Texas Attorney General's Office, and I am looking at filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. This is a very shady company.

When he originally signed up with us the card declined, before trying to call him back we received an email that he would not like to move forward.       The Heater Core unit needs to be replaced in my Lexus. Luckily I had a car warranty with American First. Drove to Lexus dealership & they did diagnose and replaced the heating unit. The dealership did accept my service contract with America First Auto. I had to pay a $100 deductible for the repair. Car was in the shop for two days and the rental car was covered by the extended warranty. Highly recommend their warranty plan.

      I signed up for platinum package then had continued to do research. I read so many bad reviews that I decided to cancel my policy within the 30 day refund window. They played games and I had finally after 60 days get my card company to do a dispute. They will respond and say we sent some money back, but your other card had changed. Facts. But that absolutely doesn’t stop a refund. I even gave them wiring instructions and they wouldn’t answer the phone. Wouldn’t return my calls. They are horrible and not to be trust. Buyer beware.

      This company went above and beyond for me. From start to finish my account representative Barry has been amazing. From the day my car was in the shop he kept in contact with me and provided me rental car right away. Bottom line after the vehicle was diagnosed I needed to replace the compressor. Barry made sure it was paid out the same day. Including the labor and the cost of the part. All I paid out of pocket was my 75 dollar deductible. I highly recommend this company. If you ever need any help ask for Barry. He is a great guy.

      Updated on 01/25/2022: BUYER BEWARE: Please read review dated 12/2021. I purchased a warranty on 10/06/2021. On 10/18/2021 requested a REFUND. As of today, I still have not received a refund. I have call numerous times and they continue to lie and mislead. I will write a review every week until I receive my refund. TERRIBLE COMPANY.

      Original: This is a terrible company. They will bait you in by being nice, kind, and understanding. I purchased a warranty with this company on October 6, 2021. A week later, I requested a refund. I call this company back on October 18, October 22, November 1, November 15, and November 22, all of 2021 requesting my refund. All I heard was it was in the mail or let me connect with the billing department. I have spoke with Colin, Chaz, Teddy, and Aaron several times.       My car dealership highly recommended them. The American First car warranty is fantastic and well worth every dollar. Signed up with them last August for my Mercedes. I think the value is excellent and it made much sense to me to purchase the highest service contract. Last month, I had a pretty large repair needed, and I am happy they covered it. Everything went very smoothly with the claim and the car was repaired in a reasonable amount of time.

      I purchased a warranty from this company in August 2021. I found this company using a Google search which led to a referral through the ConsumerAffairs website, which is why I am choosing this site to post my review. The sign up was quick and easy, but once I needed their help this company has done everything possible to deny and delay my claim. I will not spend great deal of time explaining everything, but trust me when I say you're better off going with a more reputable company, a trusted company.

      I have spoken with representatives from this company by the name of Colin, Billy, and Chad, all of which I feel is the same exact person. I purchased the bumper to bumper platinum plan, so I was told everything was covered, they even stated they specialize in cars like mine, foreign cars. Keep in mind that my repair is for a timing chain, which is a listed covered part within my contract. Unfortunately, I have been left waiting on this company to inspect my vehicle, so my car has sat at the dealership, no follow up from Colin, Billy, or Chad, no exact date given for inspection or what company will do the inspection. Just a lot of broken promises. I wish I had done more due diligence before spending my hard on earned money with this dishonest company. I pray this review helps someone else avoid an unnecessary headache.

      So far, very satisfied with my experience with American First Auto Protect for the last couple of years. My sales agent is Robert and he is very courteous and friendly. They have an in-house claim team, so the service claim authorization and approval process are pretty fast. We have two warranty plans with them for our Acura and Mercedes cars. Coverage plans are comprehensive and pricing is affordable.

      This company went above and beyond for me especially in these tough times. I originally signed up for my Maserati Ghibli in April of last year. Everything was going well. Last week I had to bring my car into the shop for my condenser. Everything was fully covered. They advised me to take it to the dealership and the work was done that day. Part of myself was worried that this was one of those typical warranties that you have to pay so much out of pocket the moment you have to bring your car into the shop. But this company stood by their word and covered the labor and the parts. What an amazing experience. You will be receiving a ton of business from me.

      I will make this short and simple. SCAM. They rush you to pay for their service but don't expect the same. They say they will pay for work, but don't expect a payment. I purchased a warranty. No deductible. Mechanic's bill was 975. They only agreed for 813. That's not 100% and they never even paid 813. Well guess who has to pay that.

      This is SCAM! Not a real business despite the fake Linked In accounts, fake reviews, copied and pasted from site. They do NOT have any Better Business credentials. Everything said on the phone was too good to be true and there was the same "person" that answered the phone each time. He was able to call me on a first name basis every time when I called in which was sketch. When I kindly asked for a refund. He actually told me "don't ever call us again because you're blocked." That same scam representative was also able to process a $3000 refund to my Amex.... without "approval", being on hold, anything. When I try to visit the "fake website" I am blocked and showed that the site does not exist. https://americanfirstautoprotect.com/contact-us/ This scam artist is creating his own reviews on sites like Consumer Affairs.

      The "manager" Colin ** is under a fake Google email. When you search for the email it is listed under fraud sites. This is a sophisticated scam, he is well experienced with scripting, wording, and studied other Extended Auto Warranty companies in the industry to replicate the verbiage. I issued a fraud alert through my credit card company so they cannot charge my card. Please be aware this is NOT a real business. The 4 and 5 star reviews are not real. The sites are not real. SCAM SCAM SCAM! BEWARE.
