    The crew was fantastic, carefully packing up my items and storing them securely. Matthew checked in regularly to make sure everything was going smoothly, and Paula followed up after the renovations to see if I was ready to move back in.     In my experience with movers, Paramount Van Lines was head and shoulders above the rest. They were really careful not to damage any of my furniture when they moved it. The movers were punctual, kind, and really competent. They were so good that they even managed to get my huge sofa through a tight doorway unscathed! These people have my highest recommendation.

    Grayson had no hesitation or push back for us when we called with some pretty specific and unique requirements. His tone was much different than other companies we had researched.     This is my first time giving any business a negative review but I felt this one was warranted. In January this year, we used Paramount movers to move from Florida to Los Angeles. Though our items were picked up and delivered within the time frame, the unfair business tactics and horrible and rude customer service left us angry and frustrated and cost us more than $1000 from the original contract. I am sharing the tips from my experience below to save you the frustration and agony. You should specifically watch out for the following items:

    1. Do not sign the contract until a field officer comes and physically inspect your items or requests the photos & dimensions of each item you are planning to move and you have proof of the estimation calculation. They quote a low price to get into the contract binding with 40% or more payment upfront using improper estimation of the shipment items and square footage to subsequently raise the cost before the move. The contract specifies the customer is not allowed to cancel due to changes in cost of the move. Get everything in writing, including proof of measurements for any square footage increase claims.

    2. Do not sign the contract if they have not shared the packing procedures upfront. Understand your responsibilities clearly as their procedures are vague at some points. Get written clarification for specific items of your list, as their verbal assurances will NOT be honored.

    4. Beware of their horrible customer service. They are very rude, unresponsive and unreliable once they get your money. They keep transferring you from one representative (broker/contractor) to the other and they will not honor the previous representative’s words. Once the move is complete, they refuse to return calls, emails or messages so there is no recourse if items were lost or damaged during the move. Their tactic seems to be ignoring the customer so that customer gives up complaining and takes no action against them as the days pass by. Use significant caution when doing business with this company.

    I was recovering from surgery during our move, so I couldn’t lift anything. But thankfully, the movers I hired from this company took care of every single aspect, and were also kind enough to set up my bed after delivery so I could rest immediately. Their kindness meant the world to me!

    If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would. I don’t know HOW on earth these people sleep at night knowing they’re actively and intentionally defrauding thousands of people of their hard earned money; with absolutely no sense of professional decorum, compassion, regard, or empathy for what you are going through. I recently went through a horrific deal that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone.

    Upon procuring services in October 2024, I spoke with a woman named Jen ** who provided me with a very low estimate and I provided an inventory list of items I’d like moved and I paid an initial deposit. I then paid another deposit and updated the inventory list with a guy named Mitch closer to the move date of January 15, 2025. After getting rid of a lot of my larger belongings because I sold them prior to the move, I kindly asked if they could revise the estimate which is consistent with their contract, and they rudely refused to revise the written estimate to show items I actually had. They informed me that it would go by final inventory when the movers arrived which I blindly trusted and accepted.

    When their contracted carrier company (TSSJ Moving Express, LLC) arrived, they claimed they will be going by the estimate inventory list provided by Paramount. They claimed I took up the space despite having significantly fewer and less larger items than before. Not only that but they claimed they “ran out of boxes” for items on the estimate, forcing me to forfeit an entire glass vanity desk and large standalone mirror (yet I was still charged for the space these items would take up).

    I was egregiously overcharged. We are talking a charge of ($4,497) for 53 items consisting of just one bedroom set and the remainder as small, medium, and a few large boxes. This is not even a one bedroom apartment’s worth of items! This is a STUDIO. I have moved numerous times in my life and had far more items and space capacity for less than HALF this cost. Yet they had already moved my items onto the truck, leaving some, and expecting me to pay +sign for the charges.

    After expressing these legitimate complaints to Paramount, not only were my five emails with evidence ignored for multiple weeks, but I finally called and spoke with a “Julia **” and a manager there who were diabolically rude and insensitive to my complaints. Mind you, not one of my emails was ever responded to in writing. They do this as a strategy to ensure whatever they write cannot be used against them. Also, because there is absolutely no defense to defrauding someone when the evidence and facts are written in email for any viewer to perceive. Over the phone, Julia ** informed me, “well then take it to court, we will be ready, goodbye”.

    These sorry excuses of human beings gave the large estimate to the carrier and I was charged after they loaded all the items onto the truck, leaving me no choice but to pay so they could move my items. Not only that, they tried to charge me an additional $500 to create covering for my fabric bedroom set despite the fact that moving pads could easily have been used. I argued that I wasn’t informed of this charge previously, so after “considerable” thought, these thieves of emotional well-being reduced it to $250 despite the contract stating all furniture would be moved with moving pads and blankets, and Jen (original moving estimator) telling me that my fabric bedroom set would be moved the standard way and not incur any additional charges. How convenient to tell me “she no longer works here” after bringing this to their attention.

    To add further insult to injury, the movers did not provide any proof that I took up the cubic feet space nor provide any weighted ticket for my items. They also left behind the a large glass vanity desk and large standalone mirror which costs upwards of $1,000 (attached). I had to forfeit these items because they claimed they claimed “they ran out of boxes”, yet they took a bookshelf and large area rug as well as a chair that wasn’t even on the original inventory. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS.

    Would give this company negative 500 stars if I could. Steer clear of them at all costs – it will be the best decision you ever make. After signing the contract with Josh, who promised me he would be my point of contact, he completely ghosted me. Not only did the movers arrive with NO packing materials, despite me paying for the full packing service, they also lost multiple boxes of my belongings. To make matters worse, they damaged several items that were delivered, including my grandmother's china, which was completely destroyed. The final mover who dropped off my things even showed me pictures of my furniture just thrown haphazardly in the truck, unwrapped and unprotected, and admitted it was received that way. The insurance payout? A pathetic $78. Meanwhile, my lost and damaged items are worth thousands of dollars. This company is a total scam and a disgrace. Do yourself a favor and RUN far, far away from them.

    Paramount van, lines moving services. 888-485-1058. December 26, 2024. From North Dakota to Ohio. They suppose to come the 26, they call me the 25 to say that my moving will be December 27, I said ok that's fine, then they call me the 26 to say, "Hi Claudia, you want to move today at 3 pm." I said perfect. Then they call me again to said, "No we're not doing it today but tomorrow for sure from 12 to 3.30." I said, "That's too late. I need to give the apartment keys to the office and they close at 5 pm and I have to drive to Ohio and I can't drive in the night time." "Yeah, yeah, no problem, they will arrive in the morning." Of course the 27 someone knock the door around 10 am. Well I thought was Paramount Vans. They send only 1 person for the moving, then I start receiving phone calls from a lady I thought was one of the representatives of Paramount Van. But not was from Uship Van Lines, inc.

    She started saying to show the guy all my moving and I said, "Well he is here in the dining room and I have all my moving here in the living room, and the garage too." She said, "Can you please show him the garage?" I said, "Ok." We went to the garage and she said madam what you told us is not the same that you have I said what, I send pictures and everything, she said, "Well all what you have is 636 cu ft more than what you said." I said, "I knew it, you guy are going to do this to me", then I start receiving it phone calls from Paramount Van. I said, "If you are Paramount Van who I speak with in the other line, she said, "It's the company who's going to move you."

    Since that moment was a nightmare, when I hired Paramount Van for my moving I spoke with Hugo ** who did my estimate. I was very clear with him. I told him I have heavy tools, and I explain everything, he started a quote with 7,500. I said, "Umm it's ok." I will speak with my husband and I called you back, so he started saying, "No wait let me see what I can do for you." He ended putting down to $3,781. I accepted it, he prepared the contract and I said, "But here is less things that what I said." He said, "Well in order to give you this price I have to do it this way but no worries if you have less than this I discount it, and if you have more I will keep the same price." I said, "Hugo let ask you something, you guys are a dealer or are a moving company." He started explaining, then I ask him, "You are no going to sell my moving to other company right?"

    He said, "No, not problem, we are going to do your moving, everything is going to be ok." Well from 3,781 that I started I ending paying $8,000 dollars. I have to ask for money to all my family because I didn't count with all that I didn't have any other choice because I have to drive to Ohio before December 31, and that was a cause the lady who do the moving was very annoying call me like 200 times, she was desperate for money, and 1 driver did my moving, he took my closet apart and I told him I wanted to put it together, and he broke the pieces. Now my closet is useless. There are a lot of things damaged because the boxes got wet.

    All this caused me too much stress and debt. Paramount Van did not accept to refund 1,800 that I gave them for downpayment. They discount $300 dollars but even like that I pay doble that I suppose to pay. O from Paramount Van calls me December 21 to verified all what I'm going to move again and I send him pictures of everything and I told him that all the same thing I told Hugo, he said to send pictures and I did, I don't know why he didn't said anything. I was on time to get another moving company or I was have other options with my husband, if he said was 8,000 I don't do that moving.

    I had a terrible experience with Paramount Van Lines during my recent move from Massachusetts to South Carolina. Here’s what happened: Two days before the move, I had a final check-in call with the Paramount Van Lines team. I mentioned a few small items I had missed, and the phone agent reassured me that my inventory wasn’t much and everything should fit within the quoted volume. They gave me an original quote of $4,400, but things took a turn for the worse on moving day.

    When the truck arrived, the driver immediately told me that the inventory list and volume assigned didn’t match at all. If the driver could identify this discrepancy right away, how could Paramount Van Lines have missed it during their assessment? To make matters worse, $1,700 of the original $4,400 was just their broker fee, and the actual movers provided a new quote of $8,500 on the spot. Their customer service was unhelpful, sticking to scripted responses. They claimed my boxes were "Extra Large" instead of "Medium," which was noted in the contract—something I hadn’t caught earlier.

    To add insult to injury, they required payment via bank ACH transfer when signing the contract, rather than allowing credit card payments. This means you can’t cancel the transaction or dispute the charge to get your money back. Once you sign the contract, your booking amount is gone. At that point, I asked the driver to load what he could within the assigned volume, thinking he might not fit all the boxes, and I could arrange for another company to handle the rest. Shockingly, the driver only loaded about 8 items—maybe 20% of my belongings—and declared that the space was full. I was left with no choice but to pay their inflated fees to get the rest of my items moved.

    Afterward, I researched Paramount Van Lines online and found similar horror stories. It’s clear this is their standard way of operating. The stress and financial burden they caused are unacceptable. If you're considering Paramount Van Lines, save yourself the trouble. Their lowball estimates, excessive broker fees, manipulative practices, and rigid payment policies will cost you much more than you expect. Avoid this company at all costs!

Tried to contact the person doing the moving and he couldn't speak a word of English. Looking for an attorney to move forward with a breach of contract suite.
