I have owned my GE Double oven since 2006 and it is still working fine. One of the oven is self cleaning and does a really good job. I have also own a GE 30 inch range which I used for over 10 years when we sold and the buyer was still using it when I talked to them last.. I also had a GE side by side refrigerator which lasted 20 years. I am sold on GE Appliances.

I purchased a GE double oven from Best buy a year and a half ago and this was my second time using the double oven the lower oven I should say I cook the ham and there was so much juice. It was a mess so I decided to set self clean and the next morning I wiped out the stove and the enamel is coming off. I have called GE numerous times. Have had an agent by the name of Walter come to my home and Winter Haven and all's he wanted was the 99.95 fee. I told him that I was not paying him that. GE sent him to look at the stove. After he looked at the stove he said he's seen and fixed others so like this and he would do nothing for mine because I did not pay him the $99.95. I then called GE again to have somebody else come to look at my stove and for whatever reason it's Walter again. I called GE and I said, "Can you please send somebody besides Walter?"
The next week they sent Walter again. Now I have not let him in my house. Just the first time I'm on the phone also with Best buy as I bought a warranty extended and have explained what has been going on Best buy sent over a company a second company which they said it's cosmetic. I had Geek Squad come out and the gentleman said this is a defect inside the double oven both. He told me not to use it. Don't cook in it. Best buy is not standing behind the warranty. I basically bought this double oven, spent $1,899 plus tax and I bought the warranty for $200 and I have a garbage oven. So anyone purchasing in any GE products stay away. It's not a good company. You're better off buying a cheaper appliance. The more money you spend the more problems you will have. This fight's not over. I'm going to take it to the news media. I'm going to put it all over Facebook.

I have purchase GE Wall Oven only before 4years, first time I use self cleaning option to test though oven was very clean. after that motor(fan) is working but it is not heating up. Called oven but they are not helping as warranty expired. Very poor service with GE. I have also read reviews about GE self cleaning option about not to use it, it is not safe. I think I should have read reviews before using self cleaning button.

I have a GE double wall oven: JT5500SF3SS. Look on the internet--F96 codes indicating defective cooling fans are rampant. The oven weighs about 200 pounds so it is not easy to pull out and replace the cooling fan. The company knows about this problem, but they keep making money off replacing the fan which then breaks again a year or so later. Never buying GE ovens again.

I was forced to buy this oven to fit into the space of the previous one- which after numerous repairs and replacements of the computer board was rendered unfixable. I was so disappointed to find that GE cut corners and produced a cheaper version of previous models. Instead of two rolling racks in each oven they only provide one. The other racks make scratching noises when you slide them in or out and feel cheap. The new “smart” computer panel is frustrating to use. Rather than having two displays for top and bottom ovens, there is only one and you have to keep switching back and forth to operate each oven. There is no user friendly way to set timers for both ovens simultaneously. The vent is located under the bottom oven and blows very hot air out and is very hot to the touch. With one year old twins crawling around we fear they will burn their fingers if they touch the oven.
Poor design!!! GE used to make a good product but this new oven is cheaply made and feels tinny. The ovens also had two small dents on the outside of the doors. When I called customer service they were polite but basically said they’ll send a technician to look at it and if he finds nothing wrong it’s just too bad. I am stuck with an expensive product that I am very unhappy with. I will never purchase a GE product again!

We have owned our GE gas double oven for a year and a half. A few days ago, it would fault to a F97 error code when turning on. I was able to reset the oven by resetting the circuit breaker outside and restarting the oven. Last evening it happened again. I resourced on the internet about these GE gas ovens with so many of them giving the same error code (F97) on units a little over a year old. Seems the lower oven blower cooling fan will not start to run on occasion causing the fault. After awhile consumers say it will no longer reset by resetting the circuit breaker in the fuse box. Called GE and they were not helpful or sympathetic at all. Consumers that had the oven repaired reported a cost of anywhere from $400-$600 which is unacceptable on appliances this new and purchased for about $1400. Needless to say we are not happy campers with GE at this time. GE needs to step up to the plate and repair this defect.

Had my wall oven for a little less than 2 years. I never used any cleaning products in my self cleaning oven followed all guidelines wiped what needed to be wiped before I self cleaned. But I only used my self clean about 3 times and I noticed enamel wearing off along sides and bottom of oven even putting and some larger pit holes. Which should not be happening. I phoned GE but nothing will be done because they ruled it as consumer fault (that I did this to my oven). I mentioned to them that maybe it could be a factory defect but they would not agree with that. I’ve had self clean oven before and have never seen anything like it. All it says in the guide book is wipe up fruit juices and other they may stain but not take enamel off, and that’s what GE was trying to tell me. Talked to them a few times but they said they’re done with my case it’s self inflicted, not satisfied at all very disappointed. It used to be a good company.

Model JTS5000SN1SS This $1200.00 oven worked for exactly 3 months before it started throwing error codes. After a month of intermittent error codes it went in to full "arrest" and would not stop beeping. No amount of "press cancel to clear" (see photo) worked. We finally had to turn it off at the breaker. Called GE Customer Service (and I use that term loosely). They sent a technician 3 - 4 days later and told us a part had failed because we had used the self cleaning feature. He ordered the parts and said he would return in a week. One of two parts arrived on the day of my appointment. He called and said the other part was on back order for months and I should call GE and ask for a new oven. Called GE at the number he gave and their telephone routing system was not working.
Finally got through at a different number and they put me straight through to "customer service." I waited for roughly 35 minutes listening to their truly horrible wait noise. The operator told me GE was having supply chain problems and she would send me the part and a technician in one week. In addition to the absolute nightmare of trying to get a human at GE I will now have to miss a third day of work and I will not have had an oven for a minimum of 3 weeks. Save your money.... Buy anything but a GE, they don't care about their product or you.

GE Profile double wall oven PT75505F7SS was installed in our new house on 3/14/2018. On 1/2/2020 I turned on the broiler. A minute or so later there was a loud explosion, a flash, and a fire in the oven. If it had occurred when I was opening the door at the time, I would have been injured by the exploding bits of melted metal. The flying metal "bb's" chipped the glass door. The element apparently shorted out, caught fire and the melted aluminum dripped on the oven floor. Of course it was out of the ONE year warranty.
After waiting at home twice for service, ordering and re-ordering new parts which were sent damaged, GE supposedly agreed to fix it. However, the tech did not show up today on the 3rd service call after we waited all afternoon. We had no call or explanation, and GE is unreachable and unresponsive. I haven't had an oven for a month. I'm ready to sue GE for selling such a dangerous product. GE obviously has quality control issues and grossly inadequate customer service.

The GE 30" wall oven was purchased because the wall space we had was only 23 3/4"d deep and they had the only model that fit. Looks good but it is slow to heat and the timer alarm is so quiet you cannot hear it in the next room. We have to set the microwave timer so we can hear the alarm. They have an adjustment setting but the volume never changes. When we called customer service we were told that is just the way it is. Won't make that mistake twice.

I purchased my appliances for a new construction home. I felt confident in my choice because years ago my purchases were with GE and I did my homework and shopped around. However, I have since changed my mind. I have been living in the home for about one and a half years. There is only two adults living in the home, who take of what we have worked hard for. The oven is used somewhat but not tons. Nevertheless, it went out when we were baking in it a few days prior to Christmas. It would not stop beeping so we had to shut off the breaker. Finally, it stopped, but we still cannot use the wall oven.
I called to schedule an appointment. It will cost us $99.00 trip charge plus parts and labor. Or $100.00 towards a new appliance. REALLY! This oven is only 1-1/2 yrs old with minimum use. I am very disappointed!! Who has money to spend on an appliance every couple of years. Products are not what they use to be. Years ago, appliances would last 20-30 years. I could see if it were even 5-10 yrs old, but 1-1/2" years old. I tried to schedule service online and the system had a glitch. I called in and had to wait 30 minutes on hold to get to customer service. I do not recommend this product due to poor performance and quality.

This is the first and last GE appliance I'll ever purchase... Audios.

Bought the wall oven in May, 2018 for new home. The oven was stored in a clean, dry area prior to installation. Because of many setbacks the new home was issued occupancy permit mid September 2019; the wall oven was installed in an island shortly afterwards. We used the oven less than 10 times, over less than 60 days; now F96 error code is displayed rendering the oven useless.
I have reviewed the warranty, which initiates when the appliance is purchased, not when it is installed which means I have no warranty. The cost to repair the oven is between 1/3 and 1/2 of what I paid for the oven. I have reviewed many websites about the F96 code and discovered that once the F96 code is displayed, replacing the fan does not resolve the issue; it only identifies the ovens which are lemons and will never function properly. I have no intention of investing another dime in any appliance this unreliable.
I typically buy U.S. made products, but it appears the issue is with the inferior design of the product and not the assembly. Therefore I am boycotting all GE products due to GE corporation's lack of ownership of the design flaw and refusal to accept responsibility for and repair of the obvious defects in this oven. GE has not only lost this customer, but I will inform my siblings, cousins, friends, children and my adult grandchildren of the faulty, unreliable performance, and lack of integrity GE corporation has for this product.

We had high end GE appliances installed in our new home in April 2015 and after moving in had constant problems, first with the Refrigerator and they were not able to fix it so we were provided with a replacement. At the same time we were experiencing problems with our wall oven. We had constant F76 error codes and three Control Boards were replaced over a period of six months. It seemed to fix the problem but intermittently we had problems with a F96 error code. Finally, Thanksgiving Day 2019 the oven reached an excessively high heat so hot that the face plate was hot enough to burn my finger while trying to switch the oven off. This is a safety issue in my opinion, what would happen if I had set the oven to clean and went to bed, could this possibly cause a fire, maybe!
According to our Service tech the cooling fan failed causing the oven to overheat, sensor failed and the oven was so hot, that it burned out the Microwave switch and now I don’t have a working oven or a working microwave. GE Consumer relations are USELESS, DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER! We sent pictures and very detailed explanation of the problems and asked them to refer issue to Eng. Dept. and get back to us. They finally got around to that 12/17 after numerous requests and within a few hours the response was incorrect installation. Installation manual proves that it was correctly installed so that is not the issue. Still have no answers to our questions why the heating fan failed; why the oven does not shut off when that occurs, why the microwave switch failed, why the convection oven fan turns on and off and is that the normal operation mode, and what they are going to do to rectify this situation????
We have had multiple conference calls only to have GE CS reiterate a list of probable parts we might need to fix the oven and microwave, no explanation and no empathy whatsoever. The real clincher Some of the parts are on backorder and we have NOT been given an estimated time frame for the parts, could be a few weeks more or few months and GE thinks this is acceptable. I will have been without an oven and microwave for a month on Wednesday 25th December. Thanksgiving was a disaster with a half cooked meal that had to be thrown out and lunch at Whataburger and it looks like Christmas will be canceled at our house all thanks to GE’s inferior quality products and their could care less attitude! It’s appalling to think this is how GE trains their Consumer Relations Reps. We have had nothing but...”it's out of warranty and we really don’t have to do anything.”
This is a catastrophic failure and GE should be accountable and responsible for this lemon. Instead they are giving us the runaround. They only warrant their products for 1 year, why because they cannot guarantee they will continue working after a year!!! Ours is a prime example! Our oven is now discontinued after 4 years...hmmn makes you wonder why? So what we have is a list of parts and never an explanation as to why we need the part and I am done talking to these bobble heads. I just want a new wall oven and microwave so we can have a functional Kitchen again. GE needs to stand behind their products and do the right thing otherwise we are allowing this company to rip people off!

Omaha, NE. We built our house in 2010 and furnished our Kitchen with all High dollar GE appliances, first mistake. Our Convection wall oven is rarely used, maybe 2-3 a month. In 2013 I decided to use the "self cleaning" option and the oven overheated as the fan stopped working. $450 later we had to replace the fan. In 2015 my husband went on a popcorn streak and used the "popcorn" option on our convection oven/microwave combo and the fan stopped working, our repair man said the sensor on the auto cook options work by sensing moisture and popcorn has so little it burns up the fans (then why have this option on your product?), $450 later we replaced the fan. Are you starting to see a pattern????
In 2017 the power board in our dishwasher stopped working and it was going to cost $500+ to replace it so we bought a new dishwasher, NOT GE!! IN 2018 the burner switch on our gas range stopped working and had to be replaced and $300+ later we got a new switch. Well this week (week before Christmas) I hesitantly did the "self cleaning" option again thinking it was a fluke the last time and once again the fan went out. $450 later I have a new fan. No help from the GE customer service and since our "barely used" appliances are out of warranty GE is unwilling to help!!!! We bought these GE white electric double wall ovens (Model JT3500DF3WW) after our 20 yr. old Jenn-air oven's door broke due to an accident and a replacement door was no longer available. These ovens are not quality ovens. After the first time I used the self clean option, everywhere the racks hit the side walls the enamel had broken down and come off! Now, after just 2 years (we are just starting into our 3rd year) I called GE to tell them that our ovens had the F96 code coming up which caused the oven to shut off and that it was beeping. I came to find out it was the blower fan that cools the oven down that was the problem.
However, the GE customer advocate said there was no known problem recorded with these appliances and that there was nothing they were willing to compensate me for since our warranty had expired. This is interesting considering when we ordered the replacement part it has the design changed and we also have to order a new electrical board as well? GE seems not to see the reviews and same complaints on the same issue and won't take responsibility for the quality of the products they make. It is not believable with complaints on this site over and over again. They are unaware of the issue and redesigning the part only solidifies their knowledge, as well as showing their lack of concern for the customers. They have sold these defective ovens to by not being willing to compensate for replacement of a factory made faulty part!

I bought my home new last year with all GE appliances which was a HUGE bummer because they make garbage. Little did I know how much of a bummer it was... and this wall oven combo is the last of the appliances that are getting the BOOT!! My dishwasher leaked the 1st time we used it and it leaked all over my wood floor and ruined the floor which required replacing. To the dump. The fridge leaked in the water dispenser we replaced BOTH with KitchenAid that we now love! I have a 2017 wall oven microwave combo model# PT7800 and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get the shelves in and out of this oven. They added a tiny bottle of graphite to tun along the runners and they are STILL A ROYAL PAIN!! The self cleaning left all kinds of debris and the door is filthy and still cover with grease even after using Greased Lightning afterwards.
The microwave oven is impossible to reach to the back to clean and the timer doesn't work. The GE stove top was replaced with a Wolfe because the GE is also a pain to clean and scratches horribly if you even look at it. Who manufactures a GAS stove that is so delicate also a pain to clean!! If you get water on the heating elements they sputter until you can dry them and the grates scratch the heck out of the top. My old Wolfe was a breeze compared to this thing.
Now that I see all these super negative reviews I am worried we will be replacing our oven sooner than later and so I am going out and paying for a new oven that is NOT GE. So add everything up and I am having to pay over $13,000 to replace the crap the builder put in. Pissed that I have to buy all my appliances again but oh well! BTW we LOVE our Speed Queen W/D set. The absolute best thing we ever did 30 years ago and just replaced them this year. Do whatever you have to to get these washer and dryers!

My warranty ended June 30, 2018 and my oven stopped working in January. Only 6 months after the watery expired. GE doesn’t offer extended warranty for their own products because they don’t back their own products. Ordered the part and then waited a week later to find out that the part that came did not have all the pieces on it. Now they are ordering another part and I have to wait another week or two without a working oven. $472 for a fix that should hold up a lot longer than 18 months.
