What is FuturHealth?

FuturHealth is a telehealth service that offers consumers an easy way to get prescription weight loss medications and support without leaving home. The online platform connects users with board-certified doctors via telehealth appointments and includes one-on-one dietitian counseling and personalized nutrition plans.

Clients can also choose to add on services to their membership, like premade meals and in-app grocery delivery. To maintain services, clients must pay a monthly membership fee in addition to the cost of their medication.

How does FuturHealth work?

To get started with FuturHealth, complete a short questionnaire about your current health, medical history and weight loss goals to see if you pre-qualify. You can then view your membership options, where you can either pay month by month at the list price or receive a discount for paying in full for five months.

After you’ve entered your payment details, you can schedule a telehealth visit with a provider who will review your medical history and prescribe a weight loss drug if you qualify. After this process is complete, you decide if you want your medications sent to your nearest pharmacy or directly to your home.

With an ongoing subscription, you meet with a dietician to get nutrition information and personalized meal plans and continue to have monthly consultations with your provider. You can cancel your subscription at any time, but only the Pro Plan membership is eligible for a refund.

FuturHealth weight loss medications

FuturHealth prescribes glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists as injectables or oral pills.

  • Wegovy: An injectable semaglutide approved for people 12 years and older with obesity.
  • Ozempic: An injectable semaglutide taken weekly to treat type 2 diabetes and help control blood sugar levels.
  • Mounjaro: A tirzepatide that’s used to treat type 2 diabetes.
  • Metformin: An antidiabetic agent taken orally to manage type 2 diabetes and blood sugar levels.

FuturHealth cost

FuturHealth subscribers pay both a monthly membership fee and the cost of their medication. The FuturHealth Weight Loss RX Program costs $129.99 a month, though discounts are often available that can bring the price down to $99.

The cost of medication varies depending on your prescription and health goals, with prices starting at $229 a month. You may also be required to pay shipping fees for medications, supplements, and meal delivery if you add these services to your membership.

Patients also have the option to sign up for the Power Plan, which locks in a discounted rate for three months, or the annual plan for a discounted rate when you sign up for 12 months.

Is FuturHealth legit?

Yes, FuturHealth is a legitimate company that’s been in business since November of 2023. The company works with over 6,000 physicians across the country and claims to have served over 1.5 million patients.

Pro Plan users are eligible for a 30-day money-back guarantee if they don’t lose at least 15% of their body weight in the first five months, and all of FuturHealth’s prescription plans are overseen by a board-certified doctor.

The information the company provided prior to changing my card misrepresented what I was paying for and when I called the company five minutes later was told talk to the prescriber and if I still wasn’t satisfied that I could get a full refund. After I spoke with the prescriber and wasn’t satisfied I was told I couldn’t get a full refund because I spoke with the prescriber. This company is a scam trying to take advantage of people.

I have had a most unpleasant experience with this company and it has only been 24 hours! I joined via the on-line process and had an appt with a PA today. I paid $297 for the consult, but first had issues with the teleconference as the provider showed up 15 minutes late. She then said we could not proceed because none of my health information was in the "form". What form? Turns out 1) I need to pay the $399 for the prescription PRIOR to this consult, and 2) no one could tell me via chat what "form" this is. So I got the phone number and called FuturHealth to try and get an explanation of their process and how this all worked. The agent was very nice, but obviously reading from a script. I never did get my "form" question answered and all he kept repeating was I need to authorize another payment for $399.

Then we can get another consultation set up. I decided then I do not want to do business with the company and asked for a refund for the $297 consultation fee (it has not cleared my credit card yet). Was told there are no refunds. Hmmmmm, their app clearly states money refunded if not satisfied. Clearly NOT satisfied! But beyond that, I never even had the consultation! The agent is escalating a ticket for me re: the refund, pretty sure that will be wasted effort so will have to dispute the charge through my credit card. Oh, they did offer a partial refund of $100 if I just go away! And after some digging I find out there is an ongoing membership fee of $129/month if I joined up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! All they want is the money, upfront. So disappointing. Yet again, another American company screwing the little guy. Buy American? Fuhgetaboutit! Until they do better, I could care less about supporting them.

I enrolled in their services and was able to give them all of my information online from DOB, SSN, Health information, medications, past surgical hx, current medical problems, address, phone number, credit card information and then have a telehealth visit verifying all of this information. I then included lab work per their request via email. A month later, to renew the auto-enrollment they suddenly state ALL of my payment methods are declined but will not verify them via chat, email, or on the phone for security purposes. This is after they took my life information the previous month without a problem. When I offered to just verify the correct CVC number, I was hung up on.

I am given a dead link to 'register' my credit card information or told to call my banks which I pay off all my cards every single month. This is nothing but a scam. They not only have my entire life information, but now all of my credit card information as well and refuse to respond to me any longer after multiple emails, chats, and phone calls. No product delivery. Just a scam. Buyer Beware. Reported to the BBB as well.

This company is a total mess. Their communication is a disaster and is constantly out of date/synch and the app is total garbage. It takes days to get responses on any questions or support and there have been two instances in less than 6 months where they have failed to communicate a check in was needed to refill (but still confirmed medication for the coming month was coming - and of course charged for it) only to then need to "restart" the program to step up doing again to an effective level (spoiler, never got there).

There's no clarity on what is being charged and when, no receipts or invoices are provided and there's no "account history" of any kind to track payments, medication, length in the program etc. You end up wasting money, never getting to an "effective" dosing level and waste tons and tons of time trying to communicate and clarify what's needed and what's going on. My experience left me feeling like this was just a total scam - I would avoid at all costs and NOT waste your hard earned money.

Buyer beware. I signed up for this service, met with the online Nurse Practitioner and later had the necessary blood work done. Initially I was charged $594 for the consultation and membership + another $229 for the medication. I received the first months of medication and at the end of the month was reminded to request a refill which I did. I was again charged $229, however the medication was never received. It's been more than 2 weeks since the charge processed. I tried to contact their customer service which is essentially a chatbot and did not offer a refund or other recourse.
